Character: Felix Fraldarius | [personal profile] bestswordmaster
Badge/Gym Leader: Storm Badge/Chuck
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Seteth the Hawlucha (lvl 52), Mockingbird the Espeon (lvl 57), Ubert the Dedenne (lvl 63), Fellstar the Meowstic (lvl 64), Catherine the Galvantula (lvl 62), Macneary the Farfetch'd (lvl 64)
Battle Details:
Like the Steel gym, Felix's interest is piqued by the Pokemon and tactics here more so than usual; he's found many Fighting types to be similar in temperament to himself, and he greatly values the ones he has on his team.

Also, since Team Femblemtroika accidentally skipped this gym, Felix's main team is a little bit overleveled for this! Which is fine with him.

First, against Hitmonlee, Felix brings out Seteth. It's an easy matchup, as Seteth is resistant to Fighting moves and has plenty of Flying damage to dish out. He can perform two dances--Feather and Swords--to gain advantages, as well as Hone Claws; and he can Roost if he takes too much damage for comfort. If all else fails, he can U-Turn to deal a bit of damage on his way to switch out for Mockingbird, who as a pure Pyschic type of higher level should have no trouble at all finishing off Hitmonlee.

Mockingbird can stay in to take on Hitmonchan, too. His Synchronize ability helps him even the playing field if Thunder or Fire Punch land their status effects. A few rounds of Charm can help negate the advantage of Hitmonchan's high speed and several high-priority moves, as can the chance of confusing it with several super-effective Psychic moves. Mockingbird can heal himself with Morning Sun when necessary.

If Mockingbird looks like he might go down, Felix will Baton Pass to switch in Ubert or Fellstar, both of whom can deal plenty of damage from super-effective Fairy or Psychic moves. Ubert can use Entrainment to remove the effect of Iron Fist and can heal himself with Parabolic Charge or Rest; Fellstar can potentially confuse Hitmonchan, Imprison its Power-Up Punch and Quick Guard, and use its own Quick Guard to protect against Hitmonchan's +1-priority moves.

Against Poliwrath, Felix will switch out whichever Pokemon he's using for Catherine, who has lots of Electric moves to deal double damage and--unlike Ubert--doesn't have a weakness to Poliwrath's Ground moves. She can also use Absorb to deal a decent amount of super-effective Grass damage and keep herself topped up on health, and she's immune to Body Slam's paralysis effect. She'll paralyze Poliwrath with Thunder Wave and then just spam super-effective moves until it goes down.

Macneary is here as backup in case Catherine gets into trouble or falls asleep due to Hypnosis. She's got plenty of Flying moves as well as Leaf Blade, can Roost to heal herself if need be, and is immune to Poliwrath's Ground moves.

All in all, Felix is confident about winning this battle; he has good type matchups, a level advantage, and an experienced team who have all been with him for quite a while and have trained together extensively.
