Character: Eijiro Kirishima | [personal profile] machismost
Badge/Gym Leader: Plains/Whitney
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Yukishima, Banana Kick, Palossand, Machoke
Battle Details:
A few months after his last attempt, Kirishima is ready to give Whitney another shot after being cowed (ha) many times before. This time has got to be the one!

Giraffarig: Yukishima now stands more than a chance of holding his own solo against Giraffarig and starts the battle off with a lovely Quiver Dance. Spring has sprung in most places, but the Frosmoth is a lingering chill. He will follow up with his bug type moves to hammer on weaknesses like Bug Buzz and Infestation if it looks like Whitney might swap out.

Clefable: The nemesis that foiled Kirishima's last attempt at victory. He answers with his Riolu, Banana Kick, who he rather suspects was given to him specifically for this reason. So it's time to test their training. Banana Kick will start with Swords Dance to boost his bracing Metal Claw beatdown. Considering Clefable does have some minor psychic type damaging moves to hurt him in turn, Kirishima has brought a Super Potion along to try to let Banana finish the fight on his own. But if need be he'll clean up with his level 100 Machoke performing the curiously dragon-type move Dual Chop and Double-Edge.

Miltank: Palossand's ghost type should make it immune to any normal type move that Miltank wants to lay down, allowing her to try Hypnosis and then set up Sand Tomb before utilizing ground moves like Earth Power. She'll use Shore Up to recover her HP.

Should Kirishima win, he's just as likely to be crying as Whitney is because damn, it's been a long time training up to try and defeat her. But either way he is a good sport and thanks her for the hard match with a firm handshake.

Badge/Gym Leader: Marsh/Sabrina
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Hatsunohide, Jack, Yukishima, Incineroar
Battle Details:

Yukishima is mostly just here to start every round with an attempt of a Stun Spore with his decent speed. Kirishima lets his Incineroar get a good taste of gym battles by having him face down Espeon with Darkest Lariat and Bite. He does not expect Incineroar to last through the battle since he is underleveled, but it'll be a happy thing if he does. Hatsunohide, Kirishima's Gyarados, will finish off Espeon with Bite.

Jack at level 80 will probably be doing the brunt of the work. She has the Infiltrator ability which should allow her to pass through every type of barrier Mr. Mime wants to throw up to gnaw him down with her Bite.

Between her and Hatsunohide, they should be able to take down Alakazam, especially if Stun Spore goes off. If not, Hatsunohide's bug type Bug Buzz and Struggle Bug should be the final factor in hitting his weakness. Even the mightiest of minds quell in the wake of big insects, apparently.
