Character: Yuzu Hiiragi | songstressedout Badge/Gym Leader: Zephyr Badge/Falkner Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM Team:Roster here! Battle Details: So, after much traveling and training, Yuzu'll be taking the warps (and briefly learning about the pains of using them one after the other) to head back to Violet City and nab her first badge!
Yuzu unfortunately doesn't have much in the way of type advantages for this battle, actually having two Pokemon with a type disadvantage, as well as one who could still use some more levels. Hence, she's aiming to avoid using them in this match unless absolutely necessary.
Noctowl: She'll lead with Soprano here. Since she’s pretty high-leveled for this fight, Soprano will focus on using Dragon Pulse and other damaging moves while keeping up with Noctowl in the sky… while also making sure that Safeguard is up to avoid any status conditions Falkner’s Noctowl tries to put on her. She’ll also be using Tailwind if Soprano needs a boost in speed.
Honchcrow: With Honchcrow's dark typing alone, this part of the battle is much easier, and Yuzu will switch to using Aria, her Fairy Type. She doesn’t have much in the way of matching Honchcrow in the skies, but she does have a lot of ranged options. She’ll mostly focus on using ranged moves like Swift, Disarming Voice, and Dazzling Gleam. If Honchcrow tries to come in close, however, she’ll have Aria use her feelers to try and grab onto Honchcrow and start pummeling it with Dazzling Gleam or Disarming Voice from up-close.
Pidgeot: Yuzu will be now trying to match Falkner in the sky with Solo. Another aerial battle! She will, for the most part, be trying to employ hit-and-run tactics with things like Quick Attack, Aerial Ace, and Close Combat (since Pidgeot's normal typing clashes with it's flying typing here, so Close Combat will do it's regular damage despite being a Fighting Type move). She'll be having Solo try to give Falkner's Pidgeot as little breathing room as possible, even attempting to ground the battle if necessary since even while on the ground, Staraptors are pretty physical in terms of attacking power, and Yuzu doesn't want to let Falkner's Pidgeot have enough time to really start picking up some wind. Close the distance with things like Quick Attack if necessary and focus on using Aerial Ace before trying to finish things off with Close Combat, since multiple Close Combats will leave Solo pretty vulnerable.
Back-up plan: Of course, Yuzu doesn’t expect things to go perfectly (even if she did unintentionally overlevel for this fight). Diva doesn’t have much she can do against Falkner’s team, but while she was in Goldenrod, Yuzu got a Thunderbolt TM for Mozart. She can switch to Mozart if anything goes terribly wrong and just try to play evasively with Teleport and Protect, while using Thunderbolt or some other damaging move whenever the opportunity shows itself. Plus, Opera may not have any direct advantages against flying types, but it also doesn’t have any direct disadvantages, meaning that she can fall back on Opera if necessary.
