Character: Louie Duck | [personal profile] talkyourwayout
Badge/Gym Leader: Mineral/Jasmine
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: The "Current Team" section, in which Pokemon images link to their in-depth comment! I said I'd do it someday!
Battle Details:
Because Louie's taking on Jasmine before Chuck, there's a level jump here that he's not unprepared for, per say, but isn't as prepared to be strategic with. Basically, this is where the "he's a teenager, and a lazy one at that" kicks in: It's getting a little hard, and for all of how far he's come, Louie's still not about that. He's feeling kind of frustrated, especially after being stagnant in the aftermath of prom. So he's relying on the type advantages and raw power of Topaz the Scrafty and Lexington the Rapidash.

First, though, Tesla the Togedemaru (level 63) will take on Skarmory. That'll start off with a couple Defense Curls plus a Nuzzle to paralyze the opponent, but again, the strategy here is minimal. Louie will mostly rely on Zing Zaps-- And well, paraflinch is a strategy of sorts, I suppose.

Beyond that, Lexington will be the main fighter against Magneton, using a few Flame Charges for damage and increased speed as well. Lexington is at level 100, but if she needs to turn to Flare Blitz, Louie will have her do so-- Topaz (also level 100) is still waiting in the wings.

And, alright, there's strategy with Topaz. It's just pretty cheap strategy. If Topaz faces Magenton, that's just some Brick Breaks. But for Steelix? Louie will have Topaz spamming Sand Attacks. As many as the Scrafty can safely get in, which will hopefully allow Topaz to land some successful Focus Punches. If that isn't working out, Louie will instead go for Low Kicks and maybe some more Brick Breaks.

All in all, not a very exciting battle, but Louie's ready to move on from Olivine-- With or without the badge. His heart and mind aren't totally in it. After all, next stop is Cianwood, so he'll hit Olivine again on the way back.
