Character: Riz Gukgak | [personal profile] nightyorb
Badge/Gym Leader: Viridian City / Earth Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular Team
Team: Asfel the Shedinja (lvl 100), Zrak the Murkrow (lvl 100), Niknik the Wishiwashi (lvl 79), Loggy the Hisuian Voltorb (lvl 72), Nasha the Galvantula (lvl 100), Sableye Egg.
Battle Details:

VS Exeggutor

Starting off against Exeggutor, Riz'll bring out his Shedinja. This is a fairly straightforward choice -- Exeggutor has a 4x weakness to bugs, and it just so happens that Shedinja is completely immune to its attacks. Riz'll obviously have Asfel use his various bug type moves, with no particular order. He can take the time to just slowly pick off Exeggutor's health.

VS Machamp

For Machamp, Riz'll withdraw Shedinja, and instead send out Murkrow. Machamp is a fighting type, meaning it has a weakness to flying types. Due to its dual typing, Murkrow does not have a resistance against fighting type moves, but Riz figures that between the level difference, and Machamp dealing with double-damage dealing moves, Murkrow will be able to outlast it.

He'll start off using Air Cutter which has an increased chance of landing a critical hit. This is further boosted by Murkrow's ability which also boosts its chance of landing a critical hit. Riz hopes that with a few hits Machamp will go down, but should he run out of PP, he'll move to using Wing Attack.

VS Rhydon

With Machamp dealt with, Riz'll withdraw his pokemon once more, and bring out Niknik the Wishiwashi. At the start of the battle, Niknik'll school and boost its (their??) power tremendously. As the schooling ability will fail once Niknik's health drops below 25%, it'll be important to deal with Rhydon quickly and mercilessly.

Luckily with Rhydon's 4x weakness to water, that shouldn't be a problem.

Riz'll have Wishiwashi use Dive, both because it'll protect Wishiwashi from damage on the first round, but also because it is far more accurate than Hydro Pump, and he doesn't want to risk Wishiwashi missing and getting hurt. If he manages to run out of Dive PP, he'll switch to Aqua Tail until Rhydon goes down.

VS Gyarados

Back for Wishiwashi, and in its place, Riz'll toss out his Hisuian Voltorb to deal with Gyarados. As a dual Flying/Water type, Gyarados is 4x weak to electricity, and Hisuian Voltorb, despite being all wood, is also still an electric type.

So, yeah, gonna Thunder that Gyarados until it fries. If out of Thunder, onto Thunderbolt it is. Please guys, can Riz start taking on your elite teams yet, this is really very boring.

Pidgeot

Despite the fact that Loggy could take on Pidgeot perfectly well, after being in Hisui for so long, Riz wants to spread out the battle-joy to all his pokemon, so he'll withdraw him in favour of Nasha the Galvantula.

(also, Nasha would definitely shock Riz if she found out he was fighting birds without her!)

Anyway, Pidgeot is a flying type and therefore weak to electricity. Galvantula is an electric spider, so therefore much electricity. And as an added bonus, because of her dual electric typing, Galvantula does not have a weakness to flying type moves.

First things first, Galvantula will use Gastro acid to eliminate Pidgeot's ability (whichever it may be) so it cannot have any beneficial elements there. Then it is time for Galvantula to boost her speed with Agility. Once that is done, it's time for a few Electro Webs (which will also lower Pidgeot's speed) and then Electro Ball (which will do increased damage the bigger the speed gap). Galvantula is also slightly faster than Pidgeot at standard speed, and with lowered speed, the difference will be even bigger.

VS Arcanine

And finally, for the last match of the day, there will be one returning competitor.

After withdrawing Galvantula, Riz'll once more bring out Niknik the Wishiwashi. If Niknik's health is still above 25% she should immediately start schooling. But just in case, Riz will have her use Aqua Ring which will heal her slightly each turn.

Anyway, obviously the reason for bringing back Niknik is that Arcanine, as a fire type, is weak to water types while Wishiwashi takes less damage from its fire type attacks. This time, knowing that there won't be even more matches after this, Riz'll let Wishiwashi use the more powerful, but somewhat more likely to miss Hydro Pump. He still has Aqua Tail and Brine and even just water gun as back-ups should the PP run out on Hydro Pump.

And Obviously, for any of these battles, should his pokemon go down unexpectedly, Riz'll use the rest of his party as back-ups. All except the Sableye egg, who Riz is just keeping on him at all times, cause he wants that little gremlin to hatch ASAP.
