one backdated gym challenge and one present gym challenge

Character: Yuzu Hiiragi | [personal profile] songstressedout
Badge/Gym Leader: Pryce, Glacier Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Link. Swapping out Garchomp, Altaria, and Lycanroc for Starmie, Spiritomb, and Braixen
Battle Details:
Yuzu is, at this point, not too worried about the gym. Seeing as how the majority of her gym battles at this point have had a prominent case of her Pokemon being much higher leveled due to not being able to face the elite teams yet, she intends to set up for a quick sweep of this gym. Plus, it's freaking cold in this gym, so she doesn't wanna stay long.

Yuzu will start off with Gallade and immediately lead with Swords Dance. She figures that with the level difference, she'll only need one, and attempt to sweep the entirety of Pryce's team like that Close-Combat should work to handle all three of Pryce's Pokemon, but if the worst should happen and Mozart goes down, she has the rest of her team in reserve. Starmie can resist most of whatever Pryce's team can throw at her, as well as deal with Dewgong and Lapras with Thunderbolt. Staraptor has Close-Combat, Braixen has an abundance of fire type moves. Sylveon and Spiritomb hopefully won't have to battle, but are available if necessary.

Badge/Gym Leader: Clair, Rising Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Link. Swapping out Staraptor and Garchomp for Togekiss and Greninja.
Battle Details:
It's the final Johto Gym, and while she's still not able to challenge the Elite Teams... she still expects the strongest gym leader in Johto to put up a fight, and she's not about to be caught off-guard because she was slacking. (This challenge isn't backdated).

For Gyarados, Yuzu will actually lead with her Lycanroc, Fang. There's a risk here with how Fang has an obvious type disadvantage against a Gyarados, except Fang has a surprise for them. With Fang's superior speed, Yuzu will have him use Thunder Fang to hit Gyarados with 4x weakness. The unfortunate downside of not actually being a Dragon Type.

For Kingdra, Yuzu will try to keep Fang in and defeat Kingdra the same way with Thunder Fang. If that isn't enough, however, Yuzu will then send out her Sylveon, Aria. Because Aria has the Pixilate ability, all of her normal type moves become fairy type moves and gain a boost in power. Assuming that Fang has worn Kingdra down somewhat, Swift should be all Aria needs to finish the job thanks to it's boosted power, fairy typing, and inability to miss.

Finally, Dragonite. Yuzu will swap Sylveon out at this point, sending out Pianissimo (Togekiss) to engage in aerial battle with the Dragonite. Being a Fairy/Flying Type, Pianissimo has the advantage and an extremely varied movepool. Still, seeing as how it'll be an air battle, Yuzu will first lead with Thunder Wave to paralyze Dragonite and give Pianissimo the advantage. From there, Dazzling Gleam to victory... with the rest of her team available just in case things go south.
