Character: Armin Arlert | schachmeister Badge/Gym Leader: Volcano Badge / Blaine / Cinnabar/Seafoam Islands Elite/Regular: Regular team Team:Ambergris the Wailord (lvl 70) & Aurora the Dragonair (lvl 72) Battle Details:
Sometimes a family is a small teenager and his two giant beloved daughters. AKA. Armin is breaking out the big guns for this fight. Quite literally.
Being that Blaine champions fire, Armin is bringing the ocean to him. Though she has never fought in a gym before, Armin saw enough of the Seafoam Islands gym while he was there #findinglugia to know it is big. Big enough to, say, bring a wailord in. Which means he is bringing in his wailord.
Right off the bat, he'll bring out Ambergris to face off against Blaine's Magcargo. Magcargo's type combination means it has a 4x weakness to both water and ground. And Ambergris just happens to have both many water moves and even a ground one. And Armin is going to hit the ground running so to speak. Being that Amber lacks any real status moves, he's just going to depend fully on her strength in this match. Armin will start off by having Amber use Whirlpool, trapping Magcargo, before moving to moves like Bulldoze and Hydro Pump. When Magcargo's health is more than half gone, he'll break out Brine. All of which probably should make for a short battle.
He isn't expecting Amber to be in too much trouble at this point, so he'll also have her take on Blaine's Magmortar with much the same strategy. While Magmortar doesn't have a nice 4x weakness to fire, it is still weak, and Amber meanwhile is strong against fire attacks which encompasses nearly all of Magmortar's arsenal.
At the end of this fight, he will switch Amber out though. Even if she's got health left still, he doesn't want her out of her element for too long!
Which leaves Blaine's Rapidash for Aurora, Armin's dragonair.
Armin will start off this battle by having Aurora use Rain Dance to boost the power of water moves, while weakening fire moves. Afterwards, he'll have Aurora use her Water Pulse (with the added bonus of perhaps confusing Rapidash) and her Aqua tail attacks. Should the battle go on long enough for Rain Dance's effects to go away, Armin will have her use that move again and then focus back on Aurora's water moves. If things start looking dicey, Armin will have Aurora use Rest to top off her HP again, before going back to ye olde waterfight.
