Character: Stanford Pines | meteorman Badge/Gym Leader: Boulder Badge | Brock Elite/Regular: Regular Team:Alice (lv. 42), MIPS (lv. 40) Battle Details: This battle takes place on November 1st!
Ford is a little overleveled for this one, but only a little. Neither of his Pokémon have a type advantage: here he'll be relying on smart strategy and the sheer novelty of a Type: Null throwing Brock off (because the chances of Brock having fought one before is slim to, heh, null).
Alice will be out first to set up a Calm Mind. The great thing about Rhyhorn is that its special defense is fuckawful, so he should be able to take it out without too much fuss. He'll also probably be able to do some decent work on the Golem, but Ford will play it safe and send out MIPS before Alice is in any real danger. Gotta get that good new friend some real battle experience, after all, and this way Alice will be available to switch back in if MIPS can't handle the Onix on its own.
Character: Stanford Pines | meteorman Badge/Gym Leader: Cascade Badge | Misty Elite/Regular: Regular Team:Jellybean (lv. 56) Battle Details:GUESS WHO'S BACK, BACK AGAIN on november 3rd thanks to the magic of warps
Ford could have easily just come at Misty with the exact same strategy as last time hoping for a bigger level gap to carry him, but even he can recognize that lacks a certain flair. So he's completely revised his plan of attack!
So, let's talk about Jellybean the Reuniclus. He's outfitted with the Sticky Barb Ford picked up in that freaky dream forest, and his Magic Guard ability means it won't damage him, though it sure will damage any Pokémon that accidentally picks it up off him. He has Light Screen, Reflect and Protect, and you can bet Ford will be making use of them. He has Pain Split and Recover, meaning that damage done to him isn't guaranteed to stay. By contrast, he can Heal Block that Starmie and take away its coveted Recover access.
Essentially, all Ford has to do is set up a couple of Calm Minds and then stall Misty to death, restoring health as-needed between powered up Psychics and Future Sights -- and he even has a Shadow Ball ready for that pesky Starmie.
God, he hates that Starmie. He's coming for you, Starmie. This time it's personal.
