Character: Stanford Pines | [personal profile] meteorman
Badge/Gym Leader: Thunder Badge | Surge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Smash Mouth (lv. 41)
Battle Details: You all know the drill by now. Ford is here with one Pokémon. How many times do we need to teach you this lesson, old man?

This time instead of a type-disadvantaged Ninetails or a neutral Reuniclus he's strategically brought a Ground type to an Electric gym. While Smash Mouth is on par with Surge's Pokémon in terms of levels, he's got a very special Earthquake lined up for each of them, as well as an arsenal of high-power neutral damage moves and entry hazards like Stealth Rock.

Ford's strategy will be to set up a Sandstorm before everything, boosting Smash Mouth's evasiveness thanks to his ability (just because they're Electric types doesn't mean they don't have any moves that can connect!). Then he'll try and Earthquake to see how much it does to the Electabuzz. If it's a big chunk of damage he'll feel confident enough to set up a Stealth Rock; if not, he'll stick to hard-hitting moves and not worry about hazards in favor of just getting Surge's Pokémon down. Luckily Smash Mouth knows the Rest / Sleep Talk combo, so if things start to get really dire that will be Ford's go-to.
