Character: Steven Durante | [personal profile] fingersandteeth
Badge/Gym Leader: TIME TO MILK BEAT WHITNEY
Elite/Regular: oh my god just regular plz
Team: Charlotte (Galvantula 49), Fail Whale (Wailord 56), and El Diablo Verde (Hawlucha 43)
Battle Details: OKAY SO. Steven had planned to wait until next week to milk face Whitney, to give El Diablo time to learn Flying Press but UNFORTUNATELY his boyfriend is being a six foot toddler and so Steven's challenging the Gym this Friday to take his mind off what a bitchy baby Handsome Jack is being.

Now, because Whitney is a damn dirty cheater her Normal gym regular team is actually two thirds full of dual type pokemon whose other typing counteracts Normal's only real weakness: Fighting. Which means that Steven has to be strategic about this. So! We'll just go in the order the team is listed under the badge and explain Steven's plans for dealing with each one of them.

For Girafarig, whose other typing is Psychic, Steven uses Charlotte, the plucky spider who helped him get through Misty and Erika's gyms through her Electric and Bug attacks respectively. It's the Bug attacks that he'll be using today. She starts by spinning a Sticky Web around the battleground (which should also cut the speed of Clefable and Miltank if they go later since I believe it remains for the next opponent), then uses String Shot to further immobilize and lower Girafarig's speed so that she can hit it with Bug Bite, Fury Cutter, and X-Scissor.

Clefable's got Fairy, which is a Problem because Fairy's vunerable to Poison and Steel and while Steven does have Pokemon with those typings, said Pokemon are also the ones he does crime with. He doesn't want to risk them being recognized if they end up on TV. But what he does have is one huge asshole of a whale with a single Steel attack and in the end? That's really all he needs.

That's right, we're pitting Fail Whale against Clefable! Our favorite whale comes in first with a Noble Roar, which he then follows up by filling the gym with Mist. After that? Well, it's time for Fail Whale to Heavy Slam himself against little Clefable. Given that he's ten times the weight of the little pink guy, it's sure to do a lot of damage. And he'll repeat that move as many times as necessary.

And then. Finally. That damn Miltank with Rollout. Now it's finally El Diablo's chance to shine. He does a Sword Dance to raise his fighting spirit! Then Rock Smash (thank you Armin) to punch, Low Sweep (thank you Celadon Department Store) to kick, and Submission to grab the Miltank and drive it to the ground. And, of course, Roost to recover his health from what he lost with Submission and any damage Miltank did. Lather, rinse, repeat as often as necessary. Hopefully that will be enough, even though El Diablo is still technically a handful of levels below Miltank, but if not, Fail Whale also knows Rock Smash (thanks again, Armin) and can jump in smash Miltank as well.

And... hopefully that's enough! If not, HE WILL BE BACK. He lives here. He can challenge the gym any time.
