CURRENT RANK: Steven is a Beta. Risotto is a Grunt.
REQUESTED REWARD: Steven honestly is fine with anything you give him, even if it’s just a cash bonus. Risotto wants a good, strong pokemon/egg to add to his Team.
JUSTIFY THE REWARD: Steven had been a bit on edge all this June anyway, given how he keeps being reminded of something he’s angry at his ex-boyfriend about. Then a certain former Rocket made his network post insulting the Team as a whole and Steven knew that he needed to find something to focus his buried anger on or he’d fuck up and actually knock someone’s teeth out at Fight Club.
Luckily, word came in at the base of some upstart named Roger who’d had the audacity to open up an unaffiliated, non-franchise “Game Center” just outside of Blackthorn City--and Steven had found the perfect thing to take out his general pissiness on. He got permission from the admins to deliver this upstart a lesson from Team Rocket on staying off their turf, then recruited Risotto Nero as his partner for the mission, mostly because his prior conversation with the man had made him suspect he’d make for exactly the right person to partner with for terrorizing someone who’d crossed Team Rocket.
After taking a couple days to perform reconnaissance on the ersatz Game Center while in street clothes and figuring out the daily route of our upstart Roger, Steven has his Xatu abduct the fellow on his way home by the simple expediency of Teleporting in, grabbing onto Roger’s shoulders, and teleporting out. He then has Tyler’s old Hypno (which he’s brought with him) to use Hypnosis to send Roger to sleep.
While Roger awakens, he’ll find himself in an out of the way corner of a very dark cave, rooted in place thanks to Steven’s Klefki locking his movements--at which point Steven and Risotto use a combination of pokemon moves and their own intimate knowledge of being scary motherfuckers back home in order to make Roger piss himself in terror. Xatu’s Night Shade summoning terrifying illusions, the tingling paralysis of Gastly’s Lick… and of course there’s Steven lovingly describing all the different ways he knows how to kill a man with his bare hands, while Risotto sneaks up behind Roger like a creep, saying a lot of cryptic dramatic bullshit detailing all the ways they can hurt him very badly with Pokemon powers if he persists on trying trying to fuck around on Team Rocket’s turf.
Eventually Roger passes out again--helped along via Hypno’s Hypnosis--and while under that Hypnosis, Steven has Hypno use Dream Eater to remove his and Nero’s distinguishing characteristics from Roger’s memory--though not that they were Rockets. Risotto’s Spinnerak then uses his webbing to securely bind the upstart. At this point they return to the outside of the Ersatz Game Center, which at this time of night is only watched over by a single security guard. Risotto then uses the bound body of Roger to lure the security guard out, leading them on a merry chase through the countryside with the help of Xatu and his Teleports as Steven uses the key they took from Roger’s body to enter the Ersatz Game Center, grab whatever money is in the safe with the help of Klefki and his own Rotom to unlock it, snatch up whatever pokemon and item prizes remain inside the building, and then get the fuck out and away from the building so Tyler’s old Forretress (which Steven also brought) can Explode a nice hole or two into the ersatz casino and its ersatz gambling machines.
The sound of which is the cue for Risotto to drop Roger, Xatu to Teleport Risotto back to Steven, and then both of them to abscond via Steven’s Golurk, which is large enough to carry two passengers. Said Golurk finds a quiet place after an hour or two of flying to let them down so they can change out of their Rocket uniforms and into normal street clothing. After that, Golurk flies them onto Mahogany (if Risotto has the Ecruteak warp) or Ecruteak (if he doesn’t) and they warp the rest of the way home, where they provide proof of their successful intimidation to the admins.
Nobody steps on Team Rocket’s turf and gets away with it.
because sometimes you just have to menace a guy trying to hone in on your turf
