"Thanks for sticking by me, little one. Sorry I haven't thought of a name for you yet... it just hasn't come to me. I promise I'll give you one soon, though."
Prompto's been alternating between humming his favorite tunes and talking to his Eevee. It's been a few hours since they set out and the sweet little Pokemon has alternated between riding on his shoulders and walking alongside him, chirping her own responses to his various ramblings. He's pretty sure she's been 'singing' along with him sometimes, though every time he looked to her she'd immediately stop, unleash her cute kitten-like grin, and trill until he either scratched her ears or scooped her up.
The sun starts to set, staining the sky myriad shades of orange and violet, and Prompto warily eyes the trees lining their path. He remembers Iggy saying there are wild Pokemon, and though he's curious to see other creatures like his Eevee he's also worried that they won't be so friendly. His Eevee can sense his rising worry and brushes purposefully against his leg, trying to help Prompto focus less on the trees and more on her. She hasn't quite figured out how to get him to focus on other things just yet, but she figures she's a pretty good distraction for now.
Shaking his head, Prompto smiles down at his companion and scoops her up in his arms, nuzzling into her soft fir and letting out a shaky sigh.
"Sorry girl. Just ... nerves I guess. Hey, think you can help me find a good clearing to make camp in? Not that I know too much about that, but I've watched Gladio set it up enough I should be able to do something, right?"
Nervous blue eyes watch as the Eevee trots further ahead and bears a bit to the right, into a clearing that looks perfect for camping. He hoists his backpack up higher on his shoulders and heads to his Eevee when he notices a six-legged, one horned bug start scurrying towards his precious companion. Prompto bursts into a sprint, hoping to scare off the creepy-looking bug thing and keep it from hurting his Eevee.
"Hey! Leave her alone! G-get away, we don't wanna fight," his voice carries and seems to do the trick, since the bug turns from the Eevee to look at him before scuttling away as he gets to the clearing. He's gotta be imagining it, but the weird bug almost looked ... sad? Shuddering (he really doesn't like bugs), Prompto decides to think about that later as he sits down and looks around.
"You okay, girl? Sorry for the yelling, I just ... bugs freak me out. Now, let's set up a camp for tonight.
... Any chance you know anything about starting a fire without a fire spell?"
The tilt of his Eevee's head signals it may be a while before there's a fire, and Prompto steels himself for a lot of splinters.
RE: REVISIONS Are these the revisions you're looking for (sorry, watching a Star Wars parody)
