Lost Temple: Exploration
Top Section | The three floors closest to the surface. Due to the light streaming in through the porthole like windows that line the walls, this is the brightest, most airy feeling section of the Temple. The hallways here are fairly broad and the curved ceilings tower high above the average person's head. Many large, circular chambers can be found in this section, the sort that might once have been used to receive guests in the Temple. Though time has had its effects on most of the objects decorating the halls and chambers, you can still see this section of the Temple must once have been richly decorated. Pokemon (lvl 10-30): Squirtle, Poliwag, Seel, Shelder, Krabby, Staryu, Corphish, Feebas, Magikarp, Shellos, Chinchou, Corsola, Lotad, Barboach, Kabuto, Binacle, Clamperl, Castform (Rainy form), Popplio, Pyukumuku, Wooper, Dewpider, Dratini, Pincurchin Pieces of Slab found: 8/8 |
Middle Section | The middle section consists of seven floors. Though some light still filters in from outside, most of the illumination here comes from strange, glowing crystals that are set at regular intervals along the walls. The hallways here are more narrow and less grand. The same goes for the chambers. You get the idea that this part of the Temple was perhaps more the personal domain of whoever once tended to this Temple. Compared to the first section, there are more hidden areas here, as well as traps preventing unauthorised individuals from accessing what had once been kept in this area of the Temple. Pokemon (lvl 20-60): Corsola, Corsola (Galarian), Gorebyss, Luvdisc, Finneon, Alomomola, Clauncher, Brionne, Wishiwashi, Arrokuda, Tentacool, Lanturn, Marill, Quagsire, Horsea, Marshtomp, Tirtouga, Frillish, Omanyte, Kabutops, Skrelp, Dragonair, Mareanie, Sealeo, Lileep, Anorith, Relicanth Pieces of Slab found: 8/8 |
Lowest Section | The lowest section of the temple. You can barely go down a single floor before you hit the water. It seems that this part of the temple is partially (or perhaps entirely) submerged in water. Anyone interested in exploring this part of the temple will need to be ready to swim and have a pokemon that knows Dive*. The sunlight from above does not penetrate this deeply in the water, and the light that illuminates the large labyrinthine hallways in this section of the temple comes from strange, bioluminescent corals and water plants that cover the walls. From the way they are grown, it's clear they were purposely coaxed to grow in those area. Additionally, because of the submerged nature of this area of the temple, it seems that whoever designed this area fully took advantage of the fact that the water allows people to move in all directions, and nothing like staircases can be found. As you get lower, the floors get smaller, growing more narrow as you travel down the tail end of the temple. * If your pokemon are incapable of Dive, the Legendary Seekers will recommend a trip to the Marine Research Institute on Sevii Island Four, where a Move Tutor for this move is available. Pokemon (lvl 50-80): Blastoise, Seaking, Starmie, Dhelmise, Octilllery, Wailmer, Milotic, Huntail, Lumineon, Clawitzer, Barraskewda, Poliwrath, Tentacruel, Gyarados, Cloyster, Cursola, Kingdra, Mantine, Swampert, Sharpedo, Gastrodon, Carracosta, Jellicent, Toxapex, Walrein, Cradlily, Armaldo Pieces of Slab found: 9/9 |

And yet.
If they choose to follow the sound, they will eventually come to a low chamber where a trio of pokemon is singing. This, in itself, is not unusual. There are many pokemon known for their song. But in this case, it's not a trio of Lapras or Primarina they will encounter; instead, sitting on a slab of stone is a trio of Cursola, their voices joining together in a haunting melody that stops immediately when they spot the foursome.
Eventually, if properly won over, the three Cursola will move and reveal that they were sitting on
Treasures: Once they have properly ingratiated themselves to the Cursola
Zuke will receive a bracelet from one of the three Cursola. Unlike some of the objects found in this temple, it's not made of precious metals of gems; instead, the bracelet has been fashioned out of bone-white pieces of coral -- most likely the Cursola's own coral branches, in fact -- with roughly shaped beads of blue coral set in between the white pieces. The bracelet is long enough that one can wrap it around their wrist several times. A gift of respect from one musician to another.
In addition, Kazuki will receive a small, old harp from the second of the three Cursola. It is styled like a Cythara anglica, and it is clear that it has been underwater for a long time. The body, at least, is made of ivory or bone, so that has survived the passage of time, but the strings are in a sorry shape. Whether it will ever be playable again depends on whether Kazuki can find a skilled enough luthier to fix it. But if not, cool conversation piece?
In addition, Greg will receive a small statue from the third Cursola. From the barnacles on the statue and general state of the stone, it is clear it has been underwater for a long time, though it doesn't necessarily look like it was part of this temple. Perhaps it was found at sea by the Cursola a long time ago and brought into this place. In any case, the statue depicts a man and a woman. The man is playing a flute while the woman dances. Despite being made of stone, there is something very airy about the statue.
Meanwhile Jaskier will... uh. There are only three Cursola and three gifts. But after confering a bit among themselves, the Cursola will eventually present Jaskier with a Shell Bell. Humans like those, right?
