GONNA BE FRANK, Jean is not going into this one all that confident. Dirk has some tricky shit going on in his team and Jean doesn't really have the means to stop it (no Taunt) and also that Actovish covers EVERYTHING with Water or Ice type moves or fuckin' FREEZE DRY (ruins Gyarados) so we're just doing our best here. He's more or less expecting to go to loser's finals, but he'll give it the ol college try.
Jean knows how Trick Room works. When it's up, he'll be operating knowing that the slower Pokemon goes first and that priority moves work around that effect. All of his Pokemon have a higher speed than all of Dirk's. Basically, except for every 5th turn when it has to be set up again, he's going to be outsped.
Gyarados is wearing the Expert Belt.
Mamoswine leads with Stealth Rocks because it hits Arctovish for 25% and that may be the difference between a life or death OHKO with Gyarados' Power Whip.
Mamoswine is a good lead against Porygon2 because lol Electric moves what? But he's not going to keep it out against him. Jean needs Mamoswine as his win condition, and Porygon2 is capable or whittling her down with Psychic moves.
He'll switch in Hydreigon after Stealth Rocks is set, hoping to predict the possible Psychic move.
Hydreigon is going to ATTEMPT a set up. If Hydreigon didn't take damage from an attack switching in, she'll use Substitute in an attempt to spare himself from a single attack from a possible switch in. After that, Nasty Plot. Then, Work Up, if HP allows. Jean will continue to try and set up until Hydreigon hits about... half hp? Then he attacks with whatever he's got that's best. Dragon Pulse will probably be the go-to. If he's on his last possible attack before KO, Hyper Beam.
If Dirk tries any self-setup nonsense, he'll respond with Roar from Hydreigon.
Hydreigon is going to stay out until she faints. There's nothing Jean can switch into that would give him an advantage, it's best just to go for broke.
Gyarados comes out next. If Porygon2 comes out in an attempt at Electric moves, he'll switch into Mamoswine with the predict. Otherwise, Gyarados is going to stay out too.
Arctovish gets hit with Power Whip. He can only hope that Gyarados can survive one Freeze Dry. Exeggcutor gets hit with Ice Fang. Expert Belt boost. Rinse and repeat.
Eventually, we're gonna be down to Mamoswine. If the Pokemon that's in against him is in range of an Ice Shard KO, Ice shard. After that, Jean is gonna give Snow Cloak a try and set up Hail.
If he expects he'll get hit with an attack first, he'll use Avalanche against Exeggcutor and Porygon2 (power increases to 120 if you've been hit in the same turn). If he expects set up or non-hitting moves, Blizzard will be used (100% accuracy in Hail). Arctovish will get Stone Edge.
If it's the turn Trick Room will wear out and Mamoswine has taken a hit, Jean will use Endure so ensure Mamoswine will get one last attack in when it has the one turn speed advantage.
TRICK ROOM CLAUSE: Jean has Substitute on all of his Pokemon. On the turn that Trick Room runs out and either Porygon2 or Exeggcutor are out, and he has enough HP left, Jean will set up an unchallenged Substitute into the predicted Trick Room reapplication. Then he gets a free attack off into whoever's out.
That is literally my best lol. Dirk's team more or less counters Jean's in every way. He's going to learn a hard lesson from this fight: Teach every Pokemon that can, Taunt.
