I'm good with an update at the time of retirement! Probably to the end of Melody of Memory, so he's in a more hopeful point in his arc, even with KH4 not currently out.

Also, since I saw it mentioned in another retirement comment, Riku would also be happy to offer support in times of crisis, especially with so many strong Pokemon on his side.
