Extended FAQ: Money
PokéMoney basics:
It's the currency of the PokéWorld.
PRICE LIST of many items and hotels
P200 can buy you a 20 oz bottle of water, P300 buys you a bottle of soda. You can buy almost anything. If you're unsure about the price of an item, and it's not on the list, keep in mind that P100 is about equivalent to $1.
Good, Honest Work:
To earn money, trainers, breeders, and rockets (who do not show signs of being affiliated with Team Rocket) can take on jobs in Johto. Jobs are available as part-time, meaning 2-5 hours per day, or full-time, meaning 6-8 hours per day, both for a span of around five days a week on average, but you are allowed to work for the full week if you so choose. Characters under twenty years of age can work strictly part-time hours. Characters over twenty can choose part-time or full-time. If you choose to take on a job, you're required to work at least five days before leaving the city. (This does not have to be five days in a row, but five days overall, in order to receive your paycheck.)
Paychecks are distributed every Friday unless the character speaks to the one in charge in order to receive it on a different day. You receive an envelope with your earned wages in Pokédollars inside. The longer you work, the more money you earn.
Here's a list of some of the many jobs available:
PokéCenter: [Located in every city | P650/hour]
Information Tech (filing papers and sorting files), Medical Assistant (helping out with patients)
PokéMart: [Located in every city | P500/hour]

Players can feel free to come up with reasonably comparable jobs to those in or world. We leave other positions open to the player's discretion, but if you're uncertain of a job feel free to drop us a line and ask!
After the first five days of work, you can work as many extra days as you want. If you quit a job early or leaving before the five days have passed, the Kangaskhan Police will be after you.
The only way to escape would be to leave between 4:00 and 5:00 am on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Unfortunately, you will be labeled as a fugitive for two weeks and, if spotted in the next city, the Kangaskhan police will happily enforce your punishment there.
Earning Money By Battling:
You may also battle the NPCs found along routes for money, however this isn't as rewarding, cash-wise. The typical payout is P75-P200 per battle, depending on level and difficulty.
For Registered Trainers:
You receive a 15% discount on products in pokémarts, department stores and other sales venues, including places like restaurants and flower shops! They get one extra % per badge, and an extra 5% per completion of a whole region's badge sets (8% for each badge, along with 5% for the completion, per region), to a total of 41% with the completion of both Kanto and Johto. You also receive 30% more prize money from gyms.
Earning Money by Pokemon:
Some pokémon, most notably Meowth, have a special signature move called Pay Day, which lets it create money at a rate of 10X its level.
Becoming Your Own Shopkeeper:
Some characters have started their own business or service in order to earn money. A list of those can be found here.
Team Rocket Members:
Team Rocket members are given a P1000 (+P1000 for each successive rank obtained) spending allowance each week, plus necessities when necessary.
Earning Money by Other Means:
Your alternatives are borrowing, peddling, and theft. However, the latter choice is highly looked down upon and a punishable offense.
