Badge Requests

What does it take? It changes for each gym! Normally, the games increase in difficulty as you progress, but that wouldn't be any fun if characters could just as easily take on the Gyms that are supposed to be for top trainers only. THEREFORE, the gym leaders aren't going to be pushovers like in the games! In order to win a badge, the mods will take into account your current roster and the attacks and advantages to see whether your pokémon is strong enough to win a badge or not.

Each gym leader has a Regular Team of pokemon and an Elite Team of pokemon you can challenge. It's up to a trainer to decide which team to challenge, but if you take on the Elite Team of six level 100 Pokemon, you'll receive double the prize money. The items, however, are not doubled. Excellent for trainers looking for the extra challenge or those looking to make money fast.

!!! Badges must be mod approved. To earn a badge, please comment on this post. Please don't ask for more than two badges to be approved at once!

The Elite Four is now distributing Keystones and Mega Stones to promising trainers! Any trainer who has defeated all eight gyms of a single region will be granted a Keystone and one Mega Stone of their choice. No player will be able to have more than one Mega Stone at a time, and those looking to switch theirs out may do so once every four months. Mega Stones may be used in any casual trainer battle, but as far as gyms go may only be used in Elite battles.

The Indigo Plateau is now open to challengers! To qualify, trainers must have all sixteen badges from Johto and Kanto. Every Pokémon they face will be level 100, and the Elite Four and the Champion have heaps of talent and experience. As such, we will be reviewing Indigo Plateau challenges with more scrutiny than we bring to badge requests. A higher level of strategy is required to win on this field. Show us what you've got!

The League Certificate qualifying the winner to create and lead their own Pokémon "Gym." This Gym is part not of the Indigo League, but the Aurora League.
Aurora League Gym Leaders may choose their own battle specializations, as well as. design their own unique Gym (which will take one month to build from the time of request) and Badge (which will be available as soon as the Gym opens). They will be compensated for their work as Gym Leaders with a stipend that will cover building costs, labor (the Leader's and any Trainers they may employ), and rewards for victorious challengers.

We ask that Aurora Gym Leaders think carefully about the location of their Gym and the difficulty level they wish to present challengers. We also ask that they create their own Badge Request page like this one so that others can request battles with them.

To officially request an Aurora League Gym, fill out the provided template and comment here.

Please use this form to request a badge or a showdown with the Elite Four! Post your request as a comment to this post. Badges will generally be processed once per week, on either Wednesday or during the weekend. Please try not to PM or IM mods about badges (including elite challenges) unless your request has gone unanswered for more than a week.

!!! Please request badges as your character is actually in the general area of the gym!

!!! To preserve the spirit of the game, obtaining badges using recently-inherited Pokémon (ie, Pokemon received from dropped characters) that massively outlevel your own is discouraged. If this happens, you may be asked by the badge mod to revise your team. Inherited Pokemon that your character has had for a while and are the same level as the rest of your character's team are fine to use!

!!! Remember that you must fight all four members of the Elite Four and Champion Lance in a row. You may heal your Pokémon between battles and take a short break, but you cannot leave without ending your challenge.

Character: Jolyne Cujoh | [personal profile] strings_theory
Badge/Gym Leader: Janine
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here and using Jotaro, Butterball, and Emporio
Battle Details: Jolyne is on a tear, man. And by tear I mean abusing type advantages for funsies.

For the most part, Butterball will be taking the center stage since he's now a Slowking and raring to prove himself properly. He will mainly be slapping things down with psychic because he's an asshole, though this will be after boosting the hell out of his special attack with nasty plot. This team didn't come to play.

Backing up Butterball will be Jotaro who will be primarily abusing brave bird, acrobatics, and flame charge. Emporio will also be there if needed and would be using fire blast and inferno.

Character: Jolyne Cujoh | [personal profile] strings_theory
Badge/Gym Leader: Sabrina
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Still here and using Stone Free, Lilith, and Lil' Bastard
Battle Details: OH SHIT POKEMON SHE HASN'T USED BEFORE OR IN A WHILE.

So the primary damage dealer is absolutely going to be Stone Free who with her bug typing will laugh at two thirds of Sarbina's team. She will absolutely be using sticky web to slow these idiots down, swords dance to up her attack, and then murdering people with x-scissor.

On the backup is Lilith who will be kindly using crunch as much as humanly possible to be a dickhead.

Now, the problem Mr. Mime is precisely why she brought Lil' Bastard with her. Weak to poison types? Hell yeah, seviper. He absolutely will be abusing coil and swords dance before going for the kill via poison jab.

Badge/Gym Leader: SOUL BADGE
Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM
Team: Let's Go- ...With Aegislash! ...And also Kyusei.
Battle Details: Not too long after arriving in Viridian, Carly needs a distraction. Is it hypocritical to seek distraction in combat right after her talks with Connie? Maybe So. But she's here and Janine is going to have to deal with it.

This is basically an All Red Buster Show. Steel types can't get poisoned unless Corrosion is involved, and Carly is fully aware of that advantage- beyond that, it's time to make use of what the sword has. Headsmash ought make Extremely fast work of Crobat, and while it means Carly will be using a hyper potion, Red will be using King's Shield the immediate first move after doing so just to be safe.

If Crobat still hangs on, it'll be as simple as a few ghost and steel moves, both of which won't have any troubles going in.

From there it's the two bugs. Aegislash luckily has Aerial Ace- not very strong, but effective enough. It also has retaliate, along with Stabs in the form of Iron Head and Shadow Sneak- and if it looks like it's tight, they'll break out Destiny Bond.

From here of course, that's why Kyusei is around. Ground moves will hit the two remaining pokemon on the team hard, and with his abilities and defenses he should hold his ground pretty great.

Character: Carly Nagisa | [personal profile] insidescoop
Badge/Gym Leader: MARSH BADGE
Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM
Team: Let's Go- ...With Aegislash Again! But also Gourgeist.
Battle Details: What, like Janine would be the last one? Definitely not!

And Red Buster?? YOU AGAIN??

Red Buster is kind of painfully perfect for this fight. Dark and Ghost moves, the latter of which are of course STAB moves, will make solid work of Espeon and Alakazam- Shadow Sneak and Night Slash of course being the primary options here. But when Mr. Mime comes out there's even More opportunities-

Because now Mr. Mime is displaying a Steel Weakness. Iron Head will be putting a heck of a dent in the clown, and beyond that if Red seems to be in a spot they have plenty of stat boosting moves alongside a shielding move.

And of course, with all these ghost weaknesses, Boo is here to carry the backup- if Red Buster goes down, they'll be right here to tank it out and land some phantom forces.

Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here using Ermes, Butterball, and Goldie
Battle Details: I'm so sorry, Blaine.

Ermes with be the one primarily used here because, good lord, everything is weak to ground. Her main target will be the magcargo with the four times weakness to ground and as always taking advantage of stamina. As for moves, breaking out the tried and true mixture of earthquake and high horse power.

Butterball is the primary backup in case it becomes necessary, using a combination of nasty plot to raise his special attack before using water pulse.

If Goldie is needed then she'll just be using waterfall. It's fine. This is fine.

Character: Jolyne Cujoh | [personal profile] strings_theory
Badge/Gym Leader: Blue
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here and using Stone Free, Butterball, Dickhead, and Gum
Battle Details: 'SUP, HERE TO YELL OBSCENE THINGS AT BLUE BEFORE/DURING/AFTER BATTLE.

Stone Free will be one of the biggest players here as she'll be taking on the Exeggutor and Rhydon. Primarily by being an absolute dick and abusing sticky web, swords dance, and x-scissor. This familiar yet?

Dickhead is here to be an absolute asshole as usual and has since learned rain dance to boost both Butterball's later water type shenanigans and thunder the hell out of both the pidgeot and the gyarados.

Butterball is handling things by using nasty plot and then using psychic on the machamp while using water pulse on the arcanine.

Gum is here primarily as back-up and healing stuff as needed via life dew consistently and healing wish if it becomes necessary.

Team: Chary, Clara and Catch a Wave
Battle Details: First of all, this is back dated to March 27th, sorry for such a delayed submission, rosters are only updated to that date!

Secondly, Deigo is going to approach the fight rather tactically, using a mix of direct attacks with some addition of stat reduction moves and some status moves, though he is going to focus on mainly brute force. He will be using Chary, the Primarina, to offset the issue of Fairy here. In battle his directions are firm and commanding, but he is not needlessly harsh on his pokemon and will offer them praise for well timed moves and express consternation at any exceptionally large damage to them as well.

Character: Connie Maheswaran | [personal profile] conniemaheswaran
Badge: Zephyr
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Chandrahas the Aegislash, Naga the Dragonite, and Nemean the Luxray
Battle Details: Despite the level disparity between her own Pokémon's and Falkner's, Connie is taking this match dead seriously. (She needs to show off to Akane, after all.) First, she'll bring out Naga the Dragonite and have her use Safeguard, since Noctowl's Hypnosis could be a major setback for her team. She'll then switch out Naga for Nemean the Luxray to avoid Noctowl's Synchronoise, and Nemean will use Charge, upping his Special Defense to weather Noctowl's primarily Special-based moveset then go for a one-hit KO with Thunder Fang due to Noctowl's low Defense. If that doesn't work, Nemean will continue Charging then Thunder Fanging to try and outlast Noctowl through constantly-increasing Special Defense.

After Noctowl's taken care of, Connie will bring out Chandrahas the Aegislash and use her King's Shield to block Honchkrow's first attack—Falkner's second Pokémon has a surprisingly formidable Attack, and Connie would rather be wary than have one of her Pokémon taken out unexpectedly, and King's Shield will decrease Honchkrow's Attack by a lot. Afterwards, Connie will command Chandrahas to use Swords Dance while she's in Shield Forme, powering up while it's in a state that Honchkrow's reduced Attack will find difficult to scratch. She'll then pull out all the stops: a Head Smash at super effectiveness with an even more titanic Attack stat than Honchkrow's while powered up by Swords Dance. If Honchkrow is somehow still standing after the Head Smash, Connie will call back Chandrahas, bring out Nemean again, use his Intimidate ability to bring down Honchkrow's Attack further, and finish the bird off

(While Chandrahas is using Swords Dance, Connie will take out a training sword and begin going through a sword form in perfect synchronization with Chandrahas's own dance, ending with a stroke with enough force behind it to snap the training sword in half when Chandrahas uses Head Smash. She has to show off, after all.)

For the final sortie, Connie will bring out Nemean to bring down Pidgeot's Attack with Intimidate and to use Electric Terrain before switching him out for Naga, who will take advantage of the Electric Terrain setup to do some slick acrobatic maneuvers, take to the sky, and being ORAORAORAORA-ing Pidgeot with a series of Thunder Punches. With a huge disparity in power levels and Electric Terrain, this shouldn't take long, but Connie's a firm believer in finishing a battle with style.

Character: Tyler Huang | [personal profile] asmywitness
Badge/Gym Leader: PLAIN BADGE
Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM
Team: These kiddos - specifically Caltrops, Teller and Football (with a side order of Isis)
Battle Details: AIGHT SO, Isis is technically his Service Pokemon, so he'll be keeping her out of her Pokeball the entire time, but she won't be an active participant in battle. Until later; we'll get to that.

Teller will be opening the show, theoretically versing off against Girafarig but openly against anyone. He will be in psychic contact with Tyler for his commands, and so neither will openly indicate what attacks will be incoming. They'll open with Future Sight, to work out where their opponent will be, and using that knowledge to step into a position where Teller can slam down a Headbutt before using Hypnosis to knock them out, and spamming them with Nightmare until they either faint or wake up; if it's the latter, then he'll wail on them with Pound, Headbutt and Psybeam to get some space back between them to try and hypnotise them again.

Caltrops will be switched in as soon as that Clefable comes out, and thanks to her intense physical defences, will probably manage to tank a hit or two; just for long enough to quickly use Autotomize twice, as well as Magnet Rise, which will make her a zero-pound, four-foot cannonball, and use Rapid Spin to launch herself off the ground, across the stadium at mach speed and fire Mirror Shots and Zap Cannons wildly at her target; if she happens to run into it, then she'll use Self-Destruct with no warning. And if Clefable survives, she'll dive in and do it again >8D

Football is technically somewhat overlevelled, as he's a stolen Pokemon and disobedient to boot; but that's not Tyler's problem. He's going to use Isis to Psychic-ally control Football remotely against Whitney's Miltank and going full-tilt physical attacks with a focus on Low Kick, Dual Chop and Seismic Toss, and Revenge when the Miltank gets a hit in first. (Notably, these will not be as expertly performed as if Football was using them himself, and the Machamp will look notably distressed about this situation at all times.) This may or may not be illegal, and Tyler doesn't care.

Elite/Regular: ELITE.
Team: Over here! (Swampert [lvl 100], Skuntank [lvl 100], Pidgeot [lvl 100], Arcanine [lvl 100], Miltank [lvl 100], Donphan [lvl 100])
Battle Details:

So it turns out even Blue's regular team is too much for his current party as things stand, and if he's going to break out his level 100s he might as well go all out, right? Heeeee's probably not ready for this, but he's spent a few days stressing over which of his 100s would be good against which of Blue's 100s. He more or less knows what moves he wants to use. There's much more thought here than he usually puts in. He even tried to turn his arm into cheat sheet only to sweat it off. So, uh... sorry. He's turned up extremely stressed, sweaty, and covered in ink.

More practically, he's invested in four Hyper Potions he'll be using as needed. This excludes those who already have their own healing moves!

Beaky the Pidgeot will be facing Venusaur first. She'll mostly be using Fly since Hurricane has a nasty habit of missing. She'll also be using Roost to regain health, and maybe a few Sand Attacks if Venusaur is causing her too many problems. If her health gets too low, Steve will have her use U-turn to switch into Stink Bomb the Skuntank. If it comes to that, then hopefully it won't take more than a Flamethrower to finish Venusaur.

Next up, it's Blastoise vs. Miltank. In the strong chance that this Blastoise is a boy, she's going to use Attract, and Toxic because he's learned it's handy to have poison in play. After that she's going to be using Thunderbolt and Seismic Toss to try and take the Blastoise down. She has Milk Drink if things start looking a little rough for her.

When Charizard makes an appearance, it's time for the unfortunately named Buttsnack to make his appearance. Mega Swampert is probably unnecessary here, but since Mega Stones are allowed in Elite matches he's gonna go for it anyway. Surf's up, plebes. And by surf we actually mean Hydro Pump. I'm going to take the liberty of assuming this is a rather short battle, but later, rinse, repeat as needed.

Buttsnack's staying out for Tyranitar, with Earthquake and Hammer Arm being his favored moves. If staying out for two Pokémon in a row proves too much even with Hyper Potions then it's time for Skuntank. This is not ideal since Tyranitar has resistance to literally every single one of his moves, but hooooopefully he can finish it off with Explosion before his own weakness to ground type moves causes problems. If not, Bessie is the backup-backup plan with Surf (actual surf this time) assuming she's got enough health left. Ellie the Donphan does have Earthquake in absolute worst case scenario. Hopefully it won't come to that though since she's needed later.

Good Boy Blaze (Arcanine) is going to come out against Pidgeot. He has Howl to raise his attack, and Thunder Fang for those super effective hits.

Finally, if they manage to make it all the way to Jolteon, it's Ellie the Donphan's time to shine. The plan here is basically try and knock it out as quick as possible with Earthquake. Nothing fancy here.

Team: Clara, Catch a Wave and Blackmore
Battle Details: Diego is going to start out with Clara, his Drampa here, trying to focus on Extrasensory to take advantage of her massive special attack when up against Haunter. Against Misdrevus he will keep with Clara using Glare to try and paralyze, as well as light screen for defense, while using twister and fly to attack and keep out of range as much as possible. Once Clara is getting low on health, or if she faints, he will swap out for Catch a Wave, his Lapras, and focus on moves to either confuse or put his enemy to sleep, then attacking, while using life dew to keep Catch a Wave going. He'll follow the same trend for Gengar, if Catch a Wave is still doing well. If she gets low, or faints from a hit, he will bring out Blackmore, a Dragonair, to hopefully mop up the last of everything. Blackmore isn't his strongest pitch for this fight, so if he's being pulled out things are tight, and will use Thunder Wave to paralyze Gengar and then use Outrage to try and end the fight... and will try to keep it up as long as he can. As before he will be free with praise for all of his pokemon when they land critical hits, and express concern when they are hit, or especially if they are knocked out.

Team: With Scylla, Bruford, and Guinivere! Notably, no one on Jonathan's roster has been updated beyond the date of the challenge.
Battle Details: wow hes gonna gym,

An odd choice of first gym, but here he is about to face Morty! While Scylla is the first listed, she won't be the first Out however- instead that honor goes to Bruford. Much as none of his moves will be STABs in this fight now, he does have Power Trip- which is especially handy against Haunter. Depending on how things go- as naturally, Hone Claws is being used repeatedly to buff up that particular move- Bruford may well stick it out the whole fight...

But just in case; against Misdreavus, Scylla is up should Bruford fall. She has no official bonuses to add, but she does have a decent amount of strength- and Sing, for that matter. Sing will be the first thing she uses if Bruford falls before Gengar's turn as well- it's easier to fight from the lower level end when your opponent is counting mareep.

And of course, with that in mind that's why Guinivere is here! Another pokemon with no particular advantage, the Noivern is nonetheless pretty solid for the battle; it helps that she has Moonlight, which is definitely going to keep her healthy in a pinch- between that and a few good Bites, she should be all good to wrap this one up!

Team: Eudyptes! Ursa!
Battle Details: And now he goes from Morty to Falkner???

Not that he Needs badges, but he Does need cash, especially if he wants to not put those earnings from the farm to waste. Jonathan naturally opts to bring out his two Ice types for this fight- who are, tragically for Falkner, a wee bit overleveled for the match. Ice being Ice, and Flying being Flying...

Well there's not much to be said. Sorry Falkner, but Jonathan really wants to be allowed into that Sprout Tower.

Character: Jolyne Cujoh | [personal profile] strings_theory
Badge/Gym Leader: Whitney
Elite/Regular: Regular (I swear not curbstomping)
Team: Here using parasect, Nunes, and sirfetch'd
Battle Details: HEY, WE OUT HERE IN JOHTO NOW.

Jolyne's bringing in some new heat and that is going to be fun to see. Her tactics in yelling things that are not attack names will continue.

Parasect is the primary go-to for girafarig and will be abusing effect spore to cause either poison, paralysis, or sleep on contact if this thing decides it's a good idea to physically attack it. As far as moves he'll be using mostly fury cutter and giga drain. Also will be making liberal use of aromatherapy if status conditions pop up on the rest of the team.

Nunes is mostly there to deal with clefable but is also back-up for miltank if need-be. For the former she will be abusing toxic to the max stages it can go, and poison jab. If needed against miltank there will be copious usage of revenge as well as max levels on toxic. Hell, she'll have Nunes use toxic on the miltank either way.

Sir Fetch'd is only there for miltank. It will take advantage of steadfast if miltank happens to flinch. Other than that we do have a swords dance set and an iron defense set that will lead into brick break.

Quick side-note: I'm putting this in early because otherwise I'll forget, she won't be going after Whitney until Friday. sjdlfkej

Character: Newt | [personal profile] sleepallthewayhome
Badge/Gym Leader: Rainbow/Erika
Elite/Regular: Elite
Team: Ripley | Arcanine (Lv. 100), Hicks | Midday Form Lycanroc (Lv.100), Flame | Charizard (Lv.100), Pyre | Blaziken (Lv.100), Sleepy | Munna (Lv.100), Reliable | Rapidash (Lv.100)

Battle Details:

Newt's first elite battle so she's going with the team that is weak to fire. Fire is a great confidence boost for her. She's also made sure to pack a few spare hyper potions and revives just in case. First Elite battle and all that.

Against the Shiftry, Newt will send out Ripley. She will use Extreme Speed first of course. The plan is FIre attacks, lots of Fire attacks. Flamethrower is a great move and Newt will use it a lot, mixing it up with Fire Fang and a few uses of Take Down. When the Shiftry gets to a lower health level, Riply will start using her one Fighting move, Reversal. Shiftry is also weak to fighting moves so hopefully the use of this will take it out.

For the Jumpluff, Newt will breafly switch tactics and bring out Hicks. The Jumpluff is weak to Rock as well after all so Newt will be using her one Rock pokemon for this. Hicks will of course start with Accelerock to make the first attack. Hicks will mostly be focusing on damage dealing Rock attacks such as Stone Edge and Rock Tomb, the later also hopefully reducing the speed of the Jumpluff. However he will also be using Dark and Normal moves such as Crunch or Rock Climb, lowering defense and hopefully confusing the target.

Next against the Victreebel Newt will be going back to the kill it with Fire plan and be bringing out her Charizard, Flame. Flying/Fire and they have a weakness to both? Yes please. As it is her favourite move, Flamethrower will be used a lot. However they will also be throwing in Air Slash to mix things up as well as as many Fire attacks they can get in there. Inferno and Heat Wave and hopefully the other pokemon gets a few burns to help the process along.

Against Bellossom is Pyre who again...fire but they also have some Fighting attacks and the Bellossom is at least damaged normally by those so that's okay then. Newt will be be using a lot of Blaze Kicks and Fire Punches, steering clear from the attacks that can damage Pyre as well, unless totally necessary. Luckily they also have some tricks up their sleeves like Mirror Move and Normal attacks like Slash. If she does need to though, Newt will pull out Flare Blitz and/or Brave Bird but only if the other pokemon is at low health themselves.

For the Roserade, there's another switch up as Newt brings out Sleepy. So we've heard you're weak to Psychic attacks? Hello. Yawn and Dream Eater are going to be used together throughout the match to gain back HP and also damage the appointment. The rest of the moves will be things like the move Psychic, Zen Headbutt and also Psybeam, hopefully this last one will cause confusion. Also Future Sight to hit them two moves after. Just a lot of Psychic attacks here today. Sleepy is a lot more dangerous then she looks.

Lastly for the Vileplume next is going back to fire and bringing out Reliable. She will start with Quick Attack first, get things started with a bang. As well as using Fire attacks such as Fire Blast and Inferno (which Newt will no doubt be using quite a lot), they also have some other type of attacks. Since the Vileplume is damaged normally by Bug and Poison, Reliable will use her Megahorn and Poison Jab attacks. Hopefully the opponent will be poisoned by that last one. Flame Wheel will also be used and really Newt is going to try and take this last opponent out with as much fire as they can possibly get away with. It's kind of her thing.

Character: Lydia | [personal profile] wonderland_vogue
Badge/Gym Leader: Falkner
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here using Lussios, Crystal, and Disas
Battle Details: Lydia's bored, might as well try her hand at this mess.

So this is a battle she doesn't really care about, but she might as well try. Because extra cash is good, she guesses.

Crystal is going to be the primary here mostly because of her secondary ice typing, but also being primary bug typing isn't great. But she can probably be fine by using tailwind to make sure everything can out speed the birds, aurora veil to lower damage from moves, infestation on every single pokemon to cause damage, and copious amounts of blizzard and aurora beam. She's mostly there for noctowl and pidgeot.

Lussios is for honchkrow mostly and will be using calm mind to up special attack, double team to not be hit, confusion to be a dick, hypnosis to further be a dick, and moonblast to actually damage.

Disas is just there as back-up given will-o-wisp will lower physical damage, and for some reason she knows thunderbolt.

Character: Lydia | [personal profile] wonderland_vogue
Badge/Gym Leader: Whitney
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here using Crystal, Eclipse, Edward, and Nova
Battle Details: This is going to be less easy.

Crystal is out here for girafarig abusing tailwind to speed the team up, aurora veil for damage mitigation, infestation on every pokemon she can, and then hitting with bug buzz for major damage.

Eclipse is the best strategy for the clefable. While she's a good few levels lower, she does at least have a poison subtype to deal with clefable even if she has no poison moves. She'll primarily be using confuse ray, hypnosis, and night shade. If or when the clefable is dealt with, Eclipse will stick around to inflict curse on the miltank. And, hey, if she doesn't die from using curse then she'll also abuse perish song and see how that goes.

Edward is here for crowd control and the miltank. He'll be coming out as Nova given how illusion works. But it'll be quick to see he's not the arcanine. Embargo will be used if the miltank has a held item or to keep Whitney from healing the damn thing. Hone claws to up his attack, leer to lower miltank's defense, foul play to damage. The special thing about Edward, however, is he will be using torment the second rollout begins to happen. One full use of rollout is enough, Whitney.

Nova is here if things get dire since he has a good level advantage. Intimidate will pop to lower physical attack. Burn up will actually be used to do damage and also change arcanine's typing to typeless which will be key in not taking extra damage from rollout. After that there will be copious amounts of flare blitz, flamethrower, and extreme speed.

Badge/Gym Leader: BROCK
Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM
Team: ZERO, BABY! GO! Local Quagsire and Gourgeist on hold,
Battle Details: WE HAVE YOUR NUMBER BROCK

WE HAVE IT WE'RE COMING FOR YOU,

Carly was worried about if she'd end up with no choice but to curbstomb Brock, but it turns out by the time she reached Pewter, dear Zero was just leveled enough to be ready for the Rock Type Gym!

How appropriate given their origins. As it stands, the curious thing is ready for their TV Debut- Carly taught them a few HMs to roud out the move pool more seriously, which means that thanks to things like Surf and Whirlpool, the battles should go rather nicely. And if things look tight, that's what Protect is for!

And well, if Brock makes the mistake of taking out the Dracovish thennnnnn Carly has curbstomping type advantages ready in the form of Boo and Kyusei. Whoops.
