Badge Requests

What does it take? It changes for each gym! Normally, the games increase in difficulty as you progress, but that wouldn't be any fun if characters could just as easily take on the Gyms that are supposed to be for top trainers only. THEREFORE, the gym leaders aren't going to be pushovers like in the games! In order to win a badge, the mods will take into account your current roster and the attacks and advantages to see whether your pokémon is strong enough to win a badge or not.

Each gym leader has a Regular Team of pokemon and an Elite Team of pokemon you can challenge. It's up to a trainer to decide which team to challenge, but if you take on the Elite Team of six level 100 Pokemon, you'll receive double the prize money. The items, however, are not doubled. Excellent for trainers looking for the extra challenge or those looking to make money fast.

!!! Badges must be mod approved. To earn a badge, please comment on this post. Please don't ask for more than two badges to be approved at once!

The Elite Four is now distributing Keystones and Mega Stones to promising trainers! Any trainer who has defeated all eight gyms of a single region will be granted a Keystone and one Mega Stone of their choice. No player will be able to have more than one Mega Stone at a time, and those looking to switch theirs out may do so once every four months. Mega Stones may be used in any casual trainer battle, but as far as gyms go may only be used in Elite battles.

The Indigo Plateau is now open to challengers! To qualify, trainers must have all sixteen badges from Johto and Kanto. Every Pokémon they face will be level 100, and the Elite Four and the Champion have heaps of talent and experience. As such, we will be reviewing Indigo Plateau challenges with more scrutiny than we bring to badge requests. A higher level of strategy is required to win on this field. Show us what you've got!

The League Certificate qualifying the winner to create and lead their own Pokémon "Gym." This Gym is part not of the Indigo League, but the Aurora League.
Aurora League Gym Leaders may choose their own battle specializations, as well as. design their own unique Gym (which will take one month to build from the time of request) and Badge (which will be available as soon as the Gym opens). They will be compensated for their work as Gym Leaders with a stipend that will cover building costs, labor (the Leader's and any Trainers they may employ), and rewards for victorious challengers.

We ask that Aurora Gym Leaders think carefully about the location of their Gym and the difficulty level they wish to present challengers. We also ask that they create their own Badge Request page like this one so that others can request battles with them.

To officially request an Aurora League Gym, fill out the provided template and comment here.

Please use this form to request a badge or a showdown with the Elite Four! Post your request as a comment to this post. Badges will generally be processed once per week, on either Wednesday or during the weekend. Please try not to PM or IM mods about badges (including elite challenges) unless your request has gone unanswered for more than a week.

!!! Please request badges as your character is actually in the general area of the gym!

!!! To preserve the spirit of the game, obtaining badges using recently-inherited Pokémon (ie, Pokemon received from dropped characters) that massively outlevel your own is discouraged. If this happens, you may be asked by the badge mod to revise your team. Inherited Pokemon that your character has had for a while and are the same level as the rest of your character's team are fine to use!

!!! Remember that you must fight all four members of the Elite Four and Champion Lance in a row. You may heal your Pokémon between battles and take a short break, but you cannot leave without ending your challenge.

Character: Louie Duck | [personal profile] talkyourwayout
Badge/Gym Leader: Zephyr Badge/Falkner
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: On-hand team; please note that Louie will be primarily relying on Shilling (alolan persian, lvl 50), Peso (corviknight, lvl 53), and Ruby (crawdaunt, lvl 47)!
Battle Details: Louie's all about strategy. He's a kid who sees the angles and can pick up on patterns in behaviors and situations quickly. Louie has also done some research on typing, as well as on Falkner's gym. He'll start off with Shilling and his Fake Out attack, and in the case of all three Pokemon, Louie won't shy away at all from moves like Taunt and Nasty Plot (Shilling), Hone Claws, Taunt, and Scary Face (Peso), and Swords Dance, Taunt, and Harden (Ruby). When it comes to attacking directly, he'll favor Shilling's Power Gem, Peso's Hone Claws/Power Trip combo and Steel Wing, and Ruby's Razor Shell and Crunch.

Badge/Gym Leader: Clair for the Rising badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Viola the Luxray (95), Dahlia the Wigglytuff (91), Limelight the g!Rapidash (81), Dittany the Lapras (83), Regina the Swanna (61), Cotton the Altaria (77)
Battle Details: This gym's aesthetics are extra af and Jaskier appreciates them, honestly. And Clair? She has the regal attitude of a queen, with the cape to match. Jaskier also appreciates her... in his mind. Because Clair is scary as fuck, thank you very much. So he bows for her and does call her lady but there's no flirting. Thank Arceus for small mercies.

Her team, though, isn't as scary. Jaskier has quite a few levels over her and a great type advantage, so I hope you enjoyed his attempts at strategy the last few gyms, because he's now confident again to go back to his stomping-over-everything-without-much-care beginnings. Viola the Luxray will take care of Gyarados with his Electric-attacks that make damage x4, the (dragon immune) fairies will handle Kingdra, and the two Ice Beam users will hit Dragonite (also for x4 damage). Cotton the Altaria is a dragon and therefore weak to dragon as well, but she came just for clean-up and possible Perish Song, though Jaskier seriously doubts he'll need it.

Character: Vinegar Doppio | [personal profile] epitaffio
Badge/Gym Leader: Fog/Morty
Elite/Regular: Regular team
Team: Cristina the Morpeko (100), Strisce the Arcanine (62), Vaniglia the Vanilluxe (56)
Battle Details: Even though Doppio has a good number of Pokémon at level 100 now, and only a few of them are Pokémon he's designated for Crimes Only, it seems he's still attempting to have proper fights with gym leaders for some reason... Maybe it's all in the name of fair play! Or maybe it's to ensure these battles serve their real purpose adequately as practice for future, more serious foes...

In any case, Doppio leads with his Arcanine, and he's gathered that Crunch works strangely well on ghosts, so he'll be focusing on that move, taking advantage of Strisce's speed! If he gets a chance to send out his Vanilluxe, he'll go with Taunt first before mounting his offense with a bog-standard Ice Beam - and if all else fails, Cristina is there to ensure their victory with further Crunch-ing (or Aura Wheel, if she happens to be in a foul mood).
angewiesen: (15)

[personal profile] angewiesen 2021-07-25 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Jean Kirstein | [personal profile] angewiesen
Badge/Gym Leader: Falkner | Zephyr
Elite/Regular: Elite
Team: altaltaltaltaltalt

Battle Details: Jean has quite a few Flying Types himself, including his favorite Mega Pidgeot, and he respects their power. He also understand their weaknesses quiet well.

He leads with Max (Dusk Lycanroc), hoping that Falker will lead with one of his Flying/Normal Pokemon. None of those four have particularly good Defense, and only Swellow outspeeds a Dusk Lycanroc.

If Falkner leads with Pelliper, Jean will switch immediately to Domino to deal with the Water Type first. Then he'll keep her out until a faint to switch out safely for Max again.

First, he leads with Stealth Rock, since all of Falker's Pokemon are weak to it. He can't give up that kind of advantage, crippling any possible switch-ins is just too good.

Jean knows that hazard-clearing moves are common on Flying Types, so he's going to make an effort to keep Max in good health to set up Stealth Rock again when he has a safe opportunity to do so. He'll switch if he looks to be in danger, especially from possible Fighting Type moves.

If Xatu comes out, Jean will take a switch to Rook (Bisharp), as it either nullifies or resists all Xatu's possible attacks. He'll then battle until faint, UNLESS: Staraptor, Dodrio or Swellow is switched in, as they're known for their ability to use Fighting Type attacks, which would totally wreck a Dark/Steel Type.

If Rook lures out the one of those, Jean will switch straight to Edge (Aegislash) to nullify the Fighting Type move. Since Xatu is most likely fainted at this point, he'll keep Edge out until faint. There's very little any of Faulker's remaining Pokemon can do to a Ghost/Steel type.

Once Stealth Rock is up, and Xatu and Pelliper are down, it's basically checkmate. Finn (Gyarados) and Timber (Haxorus) are win insurance. They're both bulky, hard hitting Pokemon that can both take and deal out hits that don't have any weaknesses any of Falker's Pokemon can exploit.

Badge/Gym Leader: Bugsy | Hive
Elite/Regular: Elite
Team: altaltaltaltaltalt

Battle Details: Bug is another type that Jean respects, as he's got several of them. Prick has taught him well. He's also impressed by the range of secondary types represented on Bugsy's team. This won't be easy.

As with the last battle, Stealth Rocks give Jean a pretty huge advantage here. This time, they're not going to be cleared away either. He's leading with Max (Dusk Lycanroc) and setting those up first. Since Bugsy's Pokemon can't clear them, Jean will let Max stay out until faint so the next Pokemon can switch in safely.

Penny (Mega Pidgeot) is next. Because of his ability, No Guard, it's attacks cannot miss. This means that even a highly inaccurate move like Hurricane can be used without worrying about missing. It's extremely strong, and has a high chance to confuse, so it's going to be tough to break through.

Jean will be keeping an eye out for Galvantula while Penny is in battle. If he sees Galvantula, he'll switch immediately for Spike (Nidoking) predicting the Electric move. He'll stick to Poison Type moves (Sludge Bomb) since it's Super Effective against Bug Types and doesn't miss on Flying Types. If Scizor comes out, he'll switch to Blaze (Rapidash) after faint.

Blaze was being saved for Scizor. He'll use Flare Blitz immediately, since such a strong, 4x weakness move is guaranteed to OHKO. He may take a lot of recoil, but that's a big threat out of mind, so Jean is willing to make the sacrifice. Blaze will then use Flame Charge and Flame Wheel until faint.

Once Galvantula and Scizor are taken out, Penny basically has a clean sweep (considering Stealth Rocks are up). Chess (Corviknight) will come out next due to its immunity to poison, followed by Timber (Haxorus), but they're also win insurance / switch bait.

Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Rockruff (26), Tynamo (26), Gyarados (31), Fletchling (30), Meowstic (39), Sinistea (29)
Enhanced Stats are here and not visually where I want them yet.
Battle Details:
Watch and marvel as I try to not include a mock battle and an entire spreadsheet not just where I store my roster.

Noctowl vs Rockruff (26)/Tynamo (26)
So Noctowl is definitely a problem for the bigger boys of his team, namely ya boy, ghost and psychic types. That's why a solid start out with Rockruff and Tynamo. If needs be, Gyarados can fill in and kick the last bit of dirt where it needs to be since they're in the next battle.

Honchkrow vs Gyarados (31)/Fletchling (30)
Depending on what happened with Rockruff/Tynamo, if either of those pokemon are still standing, then they're put to the test. Any of those combo of the team 1 and followed up by either Gyarados for pure power through-ing or Fletchling at last ditch attempt to stay in the ring.

Pidgeot vs (Fletchling (30)?)/Meowstic (39)/Sinistea (29)
The Bird v Bird is to chop down at its health for Sinistea to follow up with what are hopefully the final blows to end the match. They dodge normal moves and also have a cute tea cozy so that's at least 4 - STR 4 - Stam Leather Belt right there. It is not but he does have the best chance of dodging the normal things while, if Fletchling survives through it, Ariel Ace is there for any accuracy drops. Meowstic also has Keen Eye so that may be a boon here for them and a pain for everyone else.

Character: Vinegar Doppio | [personal profile] epitaffio
Badge/Gym Leader: Cascade/Misty
Elite/Regular: Regular team
Team: Gomma the Wobbuffet (27), Cristina the Morpeko (100)
Battle Details: Unfortunately, while Doppio is spending time in Cerulean City for treasure-hunting purposes, he looks into Misty's roster, and then he has an idea.

So he goes in and leads with Gomma, his Wobbuffet. And then he... Well, okay, saying he's "messing around" is not entirely fair. It's clear that he's experimenting, trying to get a feel for Wobbuffet's unique moves and abilities. He tries everything at least once, keeps an eye on what happens, and incidentally whispers into his breast pocket after every move.

And when Gomma goes down (which may be quite frustrating for the poor thing, really; Gomma is competitive, but underleveled)?

Well, then Doppio just sics his level 100 Morpeko on Misty's team and lets it go ham.

Character: Fitzroy Maplecourt | [personal profile] maplecourt
Badge/Gym Leader: Bugsy
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here using Snippers 5.0, Willow, and Snippers 3.0
Battle Details: This is going to be horrible level-wise.

Fitz is going to start with Snippers 5.0 against pinsir since it's weak to rock moves and GUESS WHO HAS ROCK MOVES. And we're going straight into it with rock wrecker because Fitz isn't here to play. If it misses enough then he'll switch over to the tried and true rock blast and rock slide and using crustle's ability to avoid those crit hits.

Heracross will be dealt with by Snippers 3.0. She will be starting off with dizzy punch to hopefully get a confusion off and with iron fist as her ability all her punchy moves are increased in damage. Afterwards it's power-up punch time to get some stat boosts before just abusing the hell out of ice hammer for funsies.

Scizor is where Willow comes in. This is going to be a war of who can last the longest and with Willow's ability stamina, he's pretty sure she'll be the one to win out. Basically Willow is going straight for the throat via earthquakes because who doesn't love a horse that can destroy the ground? That's all she needs, thank you.

Character: Fitzroy Maplecourt | [personal profile] maplecourt
Badge/Gym Leader: Falkner
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here using Snippers 3.0 and Snippers 5.0
Battle Details: CRAB BATTLE, CRAB BATTLE....

Okay but seriously, Snippers 3.0 and 5.0 are two big weaknesses for birds between rock and ice, so this ought to be fun.

Snippers 3.0 is going to start off with noctowl and abusing dizzy punch to see if bird gets dizzy and then afterward just start spamming avalanche. This is, uh, also the move for poor honchkrow. These birds didn't stand a chance.

Snippers 5.0 gets the luxury of taking on pidgeot. Which is hilarious, given the poor bird cannot get crits on this rock crab and said rock crab has disgusting physical defense. Snippers 5.0 might be slower, but he'll be the one to rock wrecker the bird into absolute oblivion after a few disrespect mud-slaps.

Character: Huey Duck | [personal profile] goingbythebook
Badge/Gym Leader: Falkner
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Roster
Battle Details: Huey's going to start off with a strategy given to him by his brother, which will be Theo (Meowstic) and Fake Out. With a free turn he'll then set up Reflect, which will be kept up as long as possible, in case Theo is up for longer than the first time. After that he'll go on the offensive, using moves like Disarming Voice and Miracle Eye, to get around any attempts by the enemy Pokemon to avoid being hit.

When Theo has had enough, whether fainted or tired, Huey's going to pull out Cavendish (Castform), and have him use Hail to become Snowy Form. From there it's a straightforward exchange of Blizzard and Weather Ball, with his non-STAB moves as backup when necessary. And because Castform is... Castform, if/when Cavendish falls, he's going to call on Furi (Golbat), to do much the same as Theo and concentrate on befuddling the opponent. Confuse Ray, Swift, and Poison Fang for an attempt at status effects will be the main focus there, with Leech Life and Absorb as backups.

Finally, Huey's ace up his sleeve is Moorshire (Stonjourner). He'll likely send her out if the other three have fallen OR at Falkner's last Pokemon, whichever is most likely. Moorshire is to be a literal and figurative wall, starting off with Gravity and Rock Polish then continuing with moves like Rock Tomb, Body Slam, and Rock Slide for the hopeful victory.

Character: Geralt of Rivia | [personal profile] lovelybottom
Badge/Gym Leader: Mineral badge/Jasmine
Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM
Team: Lampent Mudsdale Dragalge
Battle Details:

> vs. Skarmory

First up is going to be Yrden the Lampent (72), who, with a plethora of fire-type attacks and resistance to steel-type attacks, has the type advantage and level advantage. She'll start off with minimize and confuse ray to boost her evasion and have a shot at making the Skarmory damage itself, then go in with high-damage fire-type attacks like inferno.

> vs. Magneton

Roach the Mudsdale (81) will be up to bat for this one, taking advantage of the x4 ground-type weakness, immunity to electric attacks, and the fact that Magnetons don't have Levitate as an ability anymore unless they use Magnet Rise. She's going to start off with Mud Slap to lower accuracy and then go in for high-damage ground-type moves like High Horsepower and Earthquake so long as the Magneton is susceptible to ground. Should it use Magnet Rise, she'll then just switch over to fighting-type moves like Double Kick and Rock Smash, which have a x2 type advantage. Sorry, Jasmine, you brought three magnets in a trench coat and he has a very ornery horse, there's only one way this is ending.

> vs. Steelix

Roach is going to be in the game for this fight, too, taking advantage of her resistance to rock-type attacks and Steelix's weakness to ground and fighting-type moves. It's a similar story as with the Magneton-- mud slap to lower accuracy, iron defense to raise defense, then hit hard with ground-type moves until it's pummeled into submission. If Roach is too worn out to finish that fight, he'll switch to Pryzjaciel the Dragalge (68), whose water-type moves should be enough to finish off what's left of the Steelix.

Character: Geralt of Rivia | [personal profile] lovelybottom
Badge/Gym Leader: Glacier badge/Pryce
Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM
Team: Doublade Gengar Talonflame
Battle Details:

> vs. Dewgong

Geralt will start off with Gladeal the Doublade (100), as she has resistance to ice-type attacks. Gladeal will begin the match with Autotomize to raise speed, Iron Defense to raise defense, and Swords Dance to raise attack. Then it's a matter of using Sacred Sword for the x2 fighting-type advantage until the Dewgong goes down.

> vs. Lapras

Jenny the Gengar (97) is going to handle the Lapras, and though she doesn't have any type advantages, she sure does have Thunderbolt. The strategy here is simple-- Thunderbolt Thunderbolt Thunderbolt, and then Hypnosis + Dream Eater to restore health if needed. Rinse and repeat.

> vs. Mamoswine

Bard the Talonflame (90) will be up for the home stretch, as his immunity to ground-type attacks and type advantage for fire attacks will be advantageous. He already has the advantage in speed, so he'll just be focusing on using flame charge and steel wing to pummel the Mamoswine into submission.

Jaskier isn't as insane as his boyfriend (who has decided to do all Elite teams in Kanto) but he does carry the same "I finished Johto so let's do Kanto with a more chill and relaxed attitude" idea in his mind, so he's brought a team of only four that he doesn't use often, and left the overleveled Perish Songs at home. Mark the day on the freaking calendar.

►Vs Espeon
Jaskier opens the battle with Sunrit the shiny Kricketune, look at how he sparkles! And he has to make a big effort not to immediately Sing, because Espeon is a big cheat that can share status effects with its ability. How dare. So Sunrit Screehes at the cat before abusing Bug Buzz, which hits with both STAB and type advantage. If recovery is needed, he'll go for Absorb.

►Vs Mr Mime
The little creepy clown has gained Fairy-type so bugs aren't of use here, so Jaskier has decided to finally debut the other super annoying strategy he's been practicing besides Perish Song: get ready for Paraflinch, motherfuckers. Calym the Togekiss has Serene Grace, an ability that doubles the chance of a move having an additional effect. Thunder Wave comes first for paralysis, then is going to town with STAB Air Slash which should make Mr Mime flinch. If somehow Calym ends up being badly damaged anyway, then he has Draining Kiss for healing.

►Vs Alakazam
Bequa the Ribombee comes out for this one, starting with Stun Spore. If Alakazam has Synchronize then Bequa will also use Aromatherapy to cure himself. Then it comes down to following the same plan as Sunrit: Bug Buzz for STAB and type advantage damage, Draining Kiss for recovery.

In all three cases, if cleaning up is needed, good old Viola the Luxray will come out. He's almost level 100 by now, and he has his usual combo of Intimidate+Leer+Crunch.

Character: Ochako Uraraka | [personal profile] floatsaway
Badge/Gym Leader: Hive Badge - Bugsy
Elite/Regular: Regular!
Team: Here!! For this Gym, Ochako is using her experience and growing knowledge!! Her Team will be: Mocha (Furrett), Red Velvet (Lycanroc Midnight), Grus (Skarmory), Ankaa (Altaria), Thuban (Gabite), and Al'Risha (Skrelp)
Battle Details: Now that Ochako has one badge and a whole lot more experience under her belt, she's a bit more confident in her abilities. She also did some serious training, so she's a tiny bit over-leveled because the player thought Bugsy's highest was 45 for some reason, and has a cheer squad of friends backing her up, too!! Sorry for however hard Kirishima yells in the stands.

MOCHA (Furret)

Ochako has a strategy going in here, that is to set up. Mocha is her highest level Pokemon going in here, and relatively thicc bulky with a good defense already. The moment she's in, she's going to boost that even further with a ton of stat-boosting moves like Coil to buff her Attack, Defense, and Accuracy, and maybe even and Amnesia or two to boost her Special Defense, just in case Bugsy decides to pull some tricky business with special moves.

Also, because setting up means she's going to be taking on some damage of her own, Mocha is going to retaliate right away with Sucker Punches and Quick Attacks to get in as much chip damages as she can, then Rest and restore that sweet, sweet HP to repeat the process all over again of boosting her stats. It's a slow and steady process, but one that will have a good pay off in the long run, because right as her HP gets low enough, or she's managed to knock out the first Pokemon, Mocha will Baton Pass right into a comrade. Enjoy all those sweet, sweet boosts, friendo!!

ANKAA (Altaria)

And out comes Ankaa to soak up all the aforementioned sweet, sweet boosts from Mocha!! She wastes no time in getting straight to work, cleaving her way through Bugsy's sturdy Pokemon with supereffective moves like Pluck, mostly. She might toss in a Roost here and there, just to soak up some free HP if she gets damaged, and screech like a banshee as she uses Dragon Pulse and Dragon Breath as well, in case Bugsy's insencts are more physically beefy than specially defensive. Heracross is the one that Ochako mostly thinks Ankaa will utterly demolish, being 4x weak to her flying type attacks, plus all the stat boosts before...

Yeah. Pour one out for Heracross, that poor son of a bitch. He didn't stand a chance.

But, Ochako knows even Ankaa doesn't pair well against Scizor, and her only fire type 1. isn't fighting, and 2. is a baby. So this is where things start to get hard. Ankaa will try desperately to do as much as she can, trying her damnedest to afflict Scizor with any status move she can bust out and have stick long enough - Sing to put him to sleep so she can heal with Roost, then Dragon Breath to see if she can snag a paralysis to slow him down just a little bit. But in time, the little cloudy bird will go down, but she'll go down swinging.

RED VELVET (Lycanroc Midnight)

Red is up next, and honestly, this is a risky gambit and even Ochako knows that. Red's weak to Scizor's steel typing, despite being several levels higher, and Scizor is a hardy attacker to boot. In all honesty, Red's going to kamikaze here a bit - banking on Scizor being faster than him and gritting his teeth as he Endures a hit and immediately uses Counter to slam as much damage back as he can before he falls to a power steel move or so.

Sadly, he's not as unbreakable as his namesake, but he hopes he made both his trainer and namesake in the stands proud.

THUBAN (Gabite)

If Scizor manages to live against Red, Thuban is the next in line. It's his time to redeem himself from his absolute massacre in Violet, and he's not playing around as much this time. He has a point to prove and a trainer to lift to victory, and instantly goes into an all-out offensive against Scizor. Starting things off with Sand Tomb, Thuban hopes to do some chip damage as much as possible over time and land decent damage with a neutral-based attack. It may be a weak move, but it'll weat down that steely body over time.

He's also going to use moves that will continue to slow Scizor down as well, like Bulldoze and even Sand Attack to reduce its accuracy. Once he gets in close, he's going to match Scizor blow for blow with his own claws by using Slash and even Bite with a few Cross Chops thrown into the mix. If all else fails and they're head to head, Thuban will open that big ol' maw of his and hit Scizor point Blank with 40 HP worth of damage from his Dragon Rage. He wants to win, and be the one to snatch victory this time around, and secure the badge for Ochako...and will put his all into achieving that.

GRUS/ALMOND (Skarmory/Pachirisu)

These two are the cleanup crew. If Thuban really can't take out Scizor, they're next in line to do what they can. Almond doesn't have much, but will Discharge as much electricity as she can into Scizor to try and get him to go down, and maybe even attempt to land a Sweet Kiss to confuse him long enough into hurting himself so she can use Super Fang to halve his current HP and knock him down more and more.

Grus is the wildcard. He has one braincell and all it knows how to do right now is scream and eat. He sees a bug and will immediately try to go after with with beak and claw. That is to say...he's be using Slash, Wing Attack, but mostly Drill Peck to deal damage before Ochako returns him because she's pretty sure trying to eat the Gym Leader's Pokemon is enough to get her disqualified.

Character: Izuku Midoriya | [personal profile] mightdoriya
Badge/Gym Leader: Hive/Bugsy
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here! Izuku will be using: Burnin' the Charizard, Manual the Cramorant, Snipe the Noivern, Kamui the Tangrowth
Battle Details: Izuku found himself back in Azalea for a hot minute so he could watch Ochako challenge Bugsy, and while he was there he decided he'd challenge him himself! While his primarily grass-team still would have a disadvantage normally in a gym like this, Izuku's team has grown in variety considerably since he was in Johto last. As well as strength, due to some nose-to-the-grind training.

Charizard: Burnin', his Charizard, will be the main player in this battle and will be on the field as much as possible. He is...extremely eager to fight and show off his firepower since he's been unable to come with Izuku on a lot of his recent excursions since he's been visiting that Temple with all that WATER and that's not good for Charizards who want to...you know, not die. He's also...uh...a TOUCH OVERLEVELED FOR THIS GYM so while Izuku isn't going to hold back, he's going to at least try to reign Burnin' in from actually burning the place to the ground. If anything he'll be mostly needed against Scizor due to the 4x weakness. But yeah, just: fire moves. All of the fire moves. He has quite a few of them at this point.

Noivern: Izuku's Noivern, on the other hand, is not quite so easily reigned in. Though not as strong as Burnin' or even the rest of Izuku's team he's bringing in in terms of levels, he's undoubtedly the wildest. He acts like a traded Pokemon some days, honestly. He kindof just does what he wants? There's a limit to how much chaos he can cause before Izuku would just return him, but be that as it may...he wanted to give him a chance to battle at the very least, especially since he has a lot of flying type moves that would be super helpful here. So when he can get Snipe to listen, those will be what he focuses on, as well as moves like Screech to lower defense, Tailwind to boost his team's overall speed, and Roost for healing because he's just going to be as annoying as possible both regularly and battle wise, apparently.

Cramorant: Like Snipe, Manual has a host of flying type moves he can use against these bugs. Not quite the spread that Snipe does, but his levels are higher and even though he doesn't have a single thought going on in his head, he will listen to Izuku when it comes to actually like...doing the moves he wants him to do. I cannot promise Manual won't try to eat one of Bugsy's bugs at some point during the battle though, I'm so sorry. He has a handful of stronger water type moves as well- like Dive and Hydro Pump- which, while not doing super effective damage, will provide good extra damage output in a pinch.

Tangrowth: Ah, Kamui. Izuku's tried and true, his pride and joy who hits like a god damn truck. She might be at a disadvantage type wise being pure grass type, but she has one thing that has the potential to be disgustingly dangerous: ancient power. Izuku's used this strategy before and he's not afraid to use it now, though Kamui will be in the back to bring out just in case something goes horribly wrong with the boys and Kamui has to come in and clean up.

AKA: she will spam Ancient Power until she can spam it no more. Any potential omniboosts received during this time will be greatly appreciated, though the RNG gods tend not to like Izuku when luck is involved unfortunately. If something happens to also go horribly wrong with this strategy, she has a lot of status inflicting moves Izuku will bring out to help soften the opposition up.
