Activity Check in Detail

ACTIVITY CHECK

Activity Checks encompass the activity made during the month of [X]. Posts and threads started between the 1st through the 8th of that month may be used as long as they were not used for the previous month's month's activity.

You may use any combination of the following proofs for your AC threads, so long as they total two proofs in all:

- A Post or Log made by your character in [community profile] victory_road
- A Thread in which you tagged another character.
- A Conversation via the Inbox/Voicemail posts

Full Requirements: two complete proofs
Half Requirements: one complete proof

• Each proof linked must be at least fourteen (14) comments long (meaning 7 from you and 7 from another, or with threadjacking, etc.).

Full requirements should make at minimum twenty-eight (28) comments combined, or at least 14 from your character.
Half requirements should make at minimum fourteen (14) comments overall, at least 7 from your character.

• Proofs must be completed with two different characters. If Character A submits threads with Characters B, C, and D, this is a valid form of AC. If Character A submits two threads with Character B only, this is NOT a valid form of AC.

• Players in control of multiple characters are discouraged from making AC by threading several of their characters off of the same opposing character. Though we are in no way prohibiting players from tagging a single post with multiple characters, we are restricting how many of those threads can be used as proofs for AC. The maximum number of threads a player may submit for AC with the same character (spread across different characters of their own) is two.

For example, say Player X controls Characters A, B, and C. Player X then tags Character Y's post with A, B, and C. However, even if both threads reach AC length, Player X may submit no more than two of those threads for AC. In other words, Characters A, B, and C cannot all show proof of activity via a thread with Character Y. B and C, for example, could both use proofs with Y, but A could not.

• Action tagging count as threads. Conversations in voicemails/inboxes also count as threads as long as they are started during that month of AC.

• Multiple-comment icon spams count as just one comment.

• Half requirements are for those who were on hiatus for up to half of the month and returned more than one week before the Activity Check.

• Posts and threads made during the week of the Activity Check can be used for that month's activity check!

• Those who returned within a week of the activity check are exempt from the month's check. Those who are also currently on hiatus are exempt.

• Characters who are accepted during the second activity cycle of the month only need to check in. Posting half requirements is a bonus!

• Unless otherwise amended by the modteam, the activity check ends on the 8th of the month, 11:59 pm EST. Anyone who does not check in will be removed from the game on the 9th.

With Regard to What Posts and Threads Fall Within the AC Period:

• The AC period for any given month begins on the first of that month. This is a hard line. Posts and threads whose timestamps began before the first of the current month are not eligible for that month's AC. Players are welcome and encouraged to backdate on posts and threads for as long as they want. However, even if more than ten comments occurred on a thread during the current AC period, if the thread or post originated outside of that period, it is not eligible for AC. Therefore:

- Character X makes a post on July 29. Character Y tags into that post on August 2 and threads for 25 comments. This thread is NOT eligible for August AC because the post originated in July.

- Character X makes a post on August 5. Character Y tags into that post on August 16 and threads for 25 comments. This thread IS eligible for August AC because the post originated in August.

- Character X makes a post on August 2 and backdates the IC timing of that post to July 29. Character Y tags into that post on August 3 and threads for 25 comments. This thread IS eligible for August AC because the post originated in August.

The "exception" to this rule is voicemail posts, because voicemail posts by design are "always open" or "anytime" posts. Therefore, threads offered for AC that originated in voicemail posts will follow the timestamp of the first comment in the thread.

Three Strikes Policy

Strike One: You have not passed AC for the first round.
* You'll need to pass Activity Check the next month for the strike to be removed.
* If you are on hiatus through one activity check and cannot pass activity during the following month's check, this results in a Strike One.
* This is exactly the same as our current AC rules; nothing has changed on this point.

Strike Two: You've been given one strike but have not passed AC the second round.
* You'll need to provide four proofs of activity per character as opposed to two on the following AC check.
* Hiatusing for more than two activity checks without consulting a mod will result in a Strike Two for your next full month of activity. This is seen as squatting, using hiatuses without consulting a mod in order to evade having to complete the activity check.

Strike Three: You've been given two strikes but have not passed AC the third round.
* Your character(s) will be dropped from the game.
* If we notice a pattern of behavior resulting in repeated strikes, we reserve the right to discuss with the player and make arrangements from there.
* These rules apply on an individual character basis. If a player is active with three of their characters but inactive with a fourth, only the fourth will be subject to the strike rules.

*If your character is dropped from the game from a strike, you must wait one month before reapplying for them.

We want to stress that we are absolutely not seeking to punish people for taking hiatuses! We are extremely sympathetic to players' needs, and we encourage our players to be responsible about taking hiatuses if they anticipate that they need them. However, we want to encourage people to talk to us if they anticipate the need for long hiatuses, and talk to us in advance, rather than retrospectively. Our activity policy here is aimed at cracking down on abuse of hiatuses; it is not in any way attempting to discourage use of hiatuses in a responsible manner.

If you have any questions on these policies, please don't hesitate to ask!
