Between the constant high-profile and prolific heisting, the recent news of Pokemon going bonkers, and now the Tricky Bandits, security everywhere is so elevated that just getting to the gym without getting caught is a challenge. They do get there, though... mostly because even with everything that's been going on, no one expects Team Rocket to be bold enough to rob an actual Gym.
Still, breaking in seems to go pretty well, all things considered. For a ninja, Janine seems to rely at least as much on modern technology as she does the old-fashioned--and by old-fashioned, we mean gym Pokemon and actual traps, none of which are life-threatening (but look out for the tripwires anyway.)
So, all seems to be going well: the foursome catch and therefore steal a good 6-7 Pokemon who live in the gym, they find the Surf and Toxic TMs, Janine doesn't show up.
Oh, wait. She does.
And so do the cops.
Turns out that using an electric Pokemon for disabling the security actually sets off a different alarm in Janine's house. The foursome will be surrounded and advised to come out with their hands up and their Pokeballs on their belts.
Neither Janine nor the Jennies (who really ought to start a girl band) are prepared for Tyler and Steve to literally blow a wall out of the gym and make their escape that way (maybe they should have worried more about those Explosions?) but the escape is a VERY near miss, and if they thought security was bad (or way too good) this time....
Whoofa.
The admins are pleased enough, but no, Steve won't be getting his promotion. Also, Janine's Gym? Closed for at least two weeks for repairs. Way to go, Steve.
For their trouble,
Tyler will receive a reusable Grass Knot TM! Steve P will receive a Razor Fang! Steven D will receive a Black Sludge! Speedwagon will receive a Rocky Helmet!
