Character Name: Steve Palchuk Series: Tales of Arcadia Timeline: Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, pre-Just Add Water/Creepslayerz Canon Resource Links:A wiki link.
Personality:
Note: Despite being taken from an earlier canon point, the personality section contains spoilers for up until the end of 3Below. For the sake of precaution, the section that goes heavily into details of 3Below is in spoiler text. Parts derived from Trollhunters are not.
Steve is a stereotypical high school bully. He's a big, dimwitted jock who picks fights and stuffs nerds into lockers. He has the potential for more, but for now the most important thing is for him to maintain his spot as the alpha male at school. It's strongly implied his toxic attitude is something he's learned from his father, but we never actually meet him to confirm this.
Image is everything to Steve. He's always been popular, and has experienced all the perks that go hand in hand with that. He's used to people looking up to him, or at least fearing him. He's 16 now, and clings to being a winner with everything he has. Beneath his confident, tough guy exterior, Steve is actually extremely insecure. He's had a number of things happen in his life that threaten to destroy his reputation lately, and he is not dealing with it well. His high school gym teacher has moved in with him and his mom, taking on the role of step father. One of the other kids at school has stood up to him, punching him with enough force to knock out one of his teeth in front of several of his peers. He was at one point benched from football, though that seems to have only been a brief issue. He's even been forced to drop down from playing the lead in the school play following a minor accident on his Vespa.
Being responsible for exactly half of these problems in his eyes, Jim, the protagonist for the first segment of their canon, bears the brunt of Steve's ire for his issues. Steve latches onto him, investing far more time than necessary trying to make his life miserable. The only reason he gets involved in the school play to begin with is to rub it in when Jim is forced to step down due to his continued absences, and it only infuriates him more when he takes the role back from Steve. At school he doesn't tend to give Coach Lawrence too much grief, presumably in part because he's so concerned with the thought people might realize he's dating his mother. At home, it's a different story. He's angry, and argues with both Lawrence and his mom about having to do household chores. Lawrence tries to connect with him, but Steve isn't ready for that, and continuously pushes his efforts aside. He knows that he cares about him, and he knows that he's trying, but it's just too much for him to accept yet. Eli also suffers at his hands, but that's more because he's physically weak and so easily submits to Steve than because he's "wronged" him in some way. He's an easy target for his bullying behavior and presumably has been for years.
Eli also has things to offer him, in the sense that he gives him money and does his homework for him. Although appearing to be skilled at (some) sports, Steve does less well in other academic subjects. He doesn't always understand concepts straight away, and has a pattern of mistaking multi-syllable words for two shorter ones, or confusing similar sounding words. He's not as stupid as people tend to assume, proving himself capable of forming practical plans even in the heat of the moment, but he struggles with classes to the point of needing to attend summer school.
Of course, that isn't all there is to Steve. His better traits are there, just not visible to... anyone, really, at this moment in time. Later on, once Steve starts to realize there's more at stake in Arcadia than his ego, he grows up a lot and proves he can be more than a simple bully. He's loyal and caring to his friends, and becomes much more pleasant to spend time with once he starts to care less about what others think. He can be brave, and even resourceful in the face of danger. He's still rough around the edges, being boisterous and not always thinking things through, but he becomes much more willing to show a softer side of himself. He doles out hugs with just as much freedom as punches, and much of the time his roughhousing is used as a display of affection.
Although often quick to jump to assumptions, he learns to be open minded about the existence of "creeps" (trolls, goblins, and other mythological creatures) and extra-terrestrials. He shows a natural talent for acting, and finds a place for himself in his community, realizing just how important his family are to him. We don't see much of his mother, but we do see the growth of his relationship with Coach Lawrence. His embarrassment is hard for him to get over, but he grows very close to Lawrence and admits he is better than his biological father by virtue of being there for him. He gradually transitions into calling him dad, or more often an awkward stuttering of some combination of dad-coach-dad as he tries to work out what's right.
Given the opportunity to leave Arcadia, he ultimately chooses to remain alongside the people he once wasn't all that fond of, knowing that his hometown is where he belongs. It's a decision he knows instinctively is the right one, but not an easy one. Staying means he's left literal worlds apart from both his girlfriend and newfound best friend. He's visibly upset over them leaving, bursting into tears in front of everyone as they depart.
Eli was once the easiest target for his bullying, but he becomes his best friend with surprising speed after they team up to become the Creepslayerz, a duo dedicated to fighting and/or helping the "creeps" residing in Arcadia. They start spending time with each other outside of Creepslayerz business, with Steve forgetting about his embarrassment at being seen with Eli within a matter of weeks. He even starts to get into more nerdy pursuits such as marathoning their world's equivalent to X-Files during their sleepovers.
His girlfriend, Aja, is the Queen-In-Waiting of a planet called Akiridion-5. Despite his initial suspicion of aliens, he likes and trusts Aja enough he immediately accepts her after her revelation and promises to keep her secret, not even sharing it with Eli. He struggles sometimes with offensive stereotypes about extra-terrestrials, but he works hard to correct himself and to find the right balance in their relationship between his human perspective and her Akiridion point of view.
His maturity grows exponentially between his first appearance to the latest point in the series. Unfortunately for Steve (and everyone else forced to spend time in his company), he's not there yet.
The sad reality is he is gradually losing the status that he'd once held so easily, and it's entirely his own doing. He's so caught up in keeping up appearances it's a wonder he has any friends at all, but he remains popular enough to be voted king at the school Spring Fling. It's a title he clings to long past the point of anyone caring, wearing his crown and wielding his scepter just in case anyone forgets that he won and he's the best, most popular boy in school.
Pokémon Information Affiliation: Rocket Starter: Mudkip (main) Stunky (supplementary) Password: Atomic Fireball!
Getting back from yet another long day of training, all Steve wants to do is collapse into his bed and forget that he's been drafted into a criminal organization and in just over a week's time he's going to be expected to go out into the world and do their bidding. Unfortunately, his Stunky has escaped his ball and is curled up quite happily on his pillow. He growls, pushing the skunk Pokémon to the side so there's space for him.
"Urgh, Stink Bomb! I'm gonna get your smell all over my pillow again."
The aptly named Stink Bomb doesn't react much outside of cracking an eye open before settling back to sleep, though Steve could swear he sees a smirk there. He sighs, grabbing the pokéball for his other Pokémon before he lies down next to the snoozing Stunky. He'd never admit it out loud, but the truth is he's not sure he's cut out for this. Sure, he can pack a punch, and Steve's never been the kind of guy to play by the rules, but pick pocketing? Lock picking? These lessons are worse than school, and so far he's no better at it. He even kind of feels bad about the idea of stealing living things, especially when it's something as smart as a Pokémon.
He bites his lip, staring at the ball for his other (better behaved) Pokémon. Finally, he lets him out. A small, blue, amphibious creature appears on his chest in a flash of light. "Kip!" the little Pokémon greets him as it takes form. Steve pets its cool skin. He'd found its weird texture gross and discomforting at first, but by now it's become almost soothing. It's been a difficult week, and the Mudkip has been there for him, if a little stern at times. He wants him to be part of Team Rocket. Even if he can't understand what he says to him, that much is abundantly clear. That helps make him feel a little better about the situation, but he still likes to get assurance from him on a daily basis.
"Hey, Buttsnack? You like being in Team Rocket, right?"
The name hadn't been intended, but with how often Steve used the insult the Mudkip had started to respond to it. He didn't even seem to realize a buttsnack was a bad thing, and at this point Steve wasn't about to correct him.
"Mudkip!" the Mudkip answers, which wouldn't make things any clearer if it wasn't for his firm nod. Buttsnack definitely understood English even if he didn't speak it.
So if he thought it was okay... it must be. Kind of. Right? Even if the stealing wasn't great, at least the Pokémon in the organization seemed to like it. He makes a face that Buttsnack easily picks up on, giving Steve a light headbutt and a frown in response. "Kip! Kip! Mudkip."
Steve has no idea what the Pokémon is saying to him, but he assumes it's some sort of pep talk, or lecture. More likely a lecture, going by his expression. Steve's seen that face on the grown ups in his life a thousand times before.
"Lay off, okay? I'm going to be the best agent Team Rocket's ever seen. I'll show you."
Buttsnack eyes him in a way that suggests he doesn't believe him. The little guy's annoyingly perceptive, but at least he isn't telling him off this time. He'll take what he can get.

Character Name: Romelle Series: Voltron: Legendary Defender Timeline: Post-Season 7 Canon Resource Links:Romelle's Wiki Page
Personality:
Romelle is a bright young woman with an unfortunate past. She was away from her home planet, Altea, during its destruction, and was sought out by Lotor to join his "haven" for the Alteans known as the colony. While many Alteans grew to worship Lotor as their savior, Romelle didn't fully buy into his motives, especially when he opened a second colony that her brother was selected for; she worried for her brother's safety, and she was absolutely right. When she found her brother dead among other Alteans in the colony, Romelle knew that Lotor could not be trusted, showing that her intuition was right from the beginning.
Though her brother was killed, Romelle's desire to find the truth still stood firm. When Keith and Krolia -- two Galra, who are the Alteans' enemies -- offered to bring her to the other colony, Romelle agreed to it without batting an eye. She didn't judge them or hold any bias towards them (even though Keith's appearance is that of a human's) and pursued the truth. She's incredibly ambitious and was even willing to expose the truth in front of Lotor himself. Romelle called him the heck out on what he did and subsequently became a member of Team Voltron afterwards.
She's also incredibly curious. When she was in the Red Lion with Lance, she started pressing various buttons (much to his chagrin) to see what each of them did. Romelle's like a kid in a candy store when it comes to her curiosities and will even avoid warnings to go "what does this button do?" However, her curiosities have their limits -- she doesn't handle danger itself very well, at least not initially. In S7E1, she went on an adventure with some of the Paladins and had some very dangerous encounters with Yalmors that nearly resulted in death. Romelle was clearly not a fan of said adventure and was absolutely exhausted by the end of it.
However, it can be said that Romelle has since then gotten used to Voltron's shenanigans. In S7E2, when a Galra infiltrated the Blue Lion while Allura was piloting it, Romelle didn't hesitate to fight the Galra herself and boot them out of the Lion through its mouth. Furthermore, she travels with Voltron throughout their space adventures all the way until the end of the series.
As a fun little tidbit, Romelle's fashion sense is very...interesting. It's very colorful and vibrant like that of a young girl's; but that can be said for Romelle herself, too. She's full of energy and spunk and can be a lot of fun to be around. However, when it's time to get down to business, Romelle gets serious and will do what she can to help bring peace to the universe once more.

Character Name: Princess Allura Series: Voltron: Legendary Defender Timeline: Post Season 8 Canon Resource Links:Wiki I // Wiki II // Episode summaries
Personality: When you’re a princess, it is well-understood that everyone has certain expectations of you. You must be gracious, poised, elegant and serene. Be confident without being cocky, be decisive without being demanding. Be patient, be strong.
Allura isn’t sure if she lives up to those expectations, and now that Altea is gone, she isn’t sure if it’s necessary to meet them at all or if her being the last scion of dead world means that it’s more necessary than ever to uphold those traditions. The pressure is immense for one so young; she knows that it’s up to her to carry on the legacy of a planet that has been lost to the sands of time, and the late King Alfor left some very large shoes for her to fill.
Allura is equal parts passion and compassion, never doing anything in half-measures. Following in her father’s footsteps, she rises to the challenges of leadership with natural aplomb, though not always without a struggle: Allura tends to hide her feelings when she thinks they might negatively impact the team, and the spotlight of diplomacy can leave her feeling uneasy and overwhelmed. When facing difficult decisions, however, he never wavers for very long; her drive to protect others and defeat the Galra makes prioritizing her choices fairly simple. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.
She is brave to the point of recklessness, throwing herself into the fray against the counsel of her friends and advisors with a stubbornness that has put her in danger on more than one occasion. For the sake of the mission, to alleviate suffering, to save her friends, she would go to any length with no regard to personal safety. Her determination to succeed is driven by the terrible losses she’s suffered, and her rage against the Galran Empire for taking her home and family from her. It sometimes causes her to lash out or act irrationally, though she’s usually able to self-correct after some honest reflection. She does try to be reasonable, since most of the Paladins are so very young and don’t always behave logically.
Anger isn’t Allura’s only driving motivation, of course. She’s grown to love her friends more than anything, and she wants to see them safe and happy--to end the war for all their sakes. Through the course of their adventures, Allura has always been there to encourage the Paladins to work together as a team. She’s been a shoulder for them to lean on, as well as someone for them to rally behind, providing both support and guidance, as well as receiving it in return. When Shiro disappeared, she even stepped up to the plate to become a Paladin of Voltron herself, just as her father had been many centuries before.
Even though her journey has reached its end in her world, there is still so much for her to learn, and so much room to grow. She made the ultimate sacrifice so her friends could reap the benefits of victory; it was the hardest choice she’d ever made, but also the easiest one. Still, there’s no denying the fact that she wanted to live long enough to see her labors come to fruition, to help rebuild the universe in the wake of a seemingly endless war, to be embraced by the family that she had pieced together after she thought she’d lost everything. She loved her friends, and she loved her life, so she gave it up so they could live.
Perhaps, somewhere in the multiverse, there’s a new place where her adventure can begin again.

Character Name: Newton "Newt" Scamander Series: Harry Potter Universe Timeline: End of "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" Canon Resource Links: A wizard's tale
Personality: Newt isn't really a people person. Sure he does well enough when he has to interact with others but he definitely seems to prefer to just not interact with anyone outside of his animals if he can help it. He doesn't know how to carry conversations all that well, usually ending them awkwardly and quickly in an attempt to carry on his way and finish whatever it is he's working on. His nervous ticks rear their head the most when he's around other people, Newt sometimes fumbling over words if he gets too flustered or even doing anything he can to keep his hands busy and his eye contact elsewhere. He's not trying to be rude; he's just that awkward about things sometimes. (Most of the time he'll just do his best to avoid social interactions as a whole but there are times when it's inevitable. Unfortunately.) He has gotten better about it, especially when he's comfortable with someone's presence/considers them a close friend, but more often than not he still keeps his head tilted down and his eyes averted through much of the conversation. It just tends to flow a bit better.
While he may not be much of a people person, Newt doesn't harbor any ill will towards other nor is he the type to discriminate. He sees people as people and treats everyone with the same respect and kindness. He's very much a man of principle in that sense and will openly counter someone that is attempting to discriminate against someone for some reason or another. It's this same mindset that has him putting people and animals on the same pedestal, so to speak, seeing everyone as equals no matter what they may be considered. Now, Newt does have a very strong sense of right and wrong and does not take kindly to those that attempt to harm his friends or family (whether his blood relations or those that he has come to think of as family). He will do what's needed to protect his family, always in a non-violent manner, and will never allow himself to be bullied or pushed into something by other people. (He will do his best to encourage others to act/think for themselves rather than allowing others to force them into decisions as well.)
Newt doesn't have much in the way of a temper, preferring to flee rather than get into an argument with others. He prefers to try and find a peaceful solution, if necessary, never wanting to willing harm a person or beast. This isn't to say that he won't engage in a wizarding duel if necessary and he can definitely hold his own (Newt is well versed in charms and is a very quick draw with his wand while also accomplished at using nonverbal magic) but it's usually a last resort for him. Now, threaten his animals and you may see a very different side of Newt but even then it's not a violent temper; more of a worried, fearful anger that comes out where he'd rather get hurt himself but allowing his beasts to.
When it comes to animals, Newt becomes a completely different person. He's much more open around creatures and smiles more often and in general just becomes a bit more chatty. He really seems to be in his element when he's surrounded by animals and becomes more social, willing engaging people that may happen to be around while he's interacting with his suitcase full of beasts. He's extremely devoted to the creatures in his care and spends the majority of his time keeping them safe, happy and healthy. He's very passionate about everything to do with his study of fantastic beasts, well versed in every aspect of the creatures he cares for and very willing to learn everything he can about those that he hasn't encountered yet.
Is he lonely? Maybe a little but Newt seems to enjoy being on his own and he's always got his animals with him so he really isn't ever alone. While most people probably wouldn't enjoy a life traveling the world without company Newt thrives on that sort of experience. That's not to say that he doesn't miss the small group of friends that he has because he definitely does. He just can't seem to stay in one place for too long and doesn't want anyone uprooting themselves for his sake.
Newt is very intelligent in more than just things concerning beasts, a very quick study in both the wizard and muggle worlds. He uses the knowledge he has of both words to continue his study of beasts and adapt to whatever situation he may end up in. He's got an encyclopedic knowledge of creatures, is skilled in crafting potions, has an extensive knowledge of magical history and, in general, is just a quick study in anything that could be useful to him. He'll willingly share this information with others that show interest, more than happy to teach people about creatures and everything to do about them if they ask.

Victory Road Sample: "What have I told you about stealing?" Newt scolded the small Banette cradled in the crook of his arm, carefully holding a gold watch and several coins in his other hand. The small creature giggled at him and immediately tried to squirm out of his grasp to reach for the goods but Newt kept them out of reach. Despite his scolding his lips did quirk into the faintest smile as he started the trek back towards his hotel, tucking the gold pieces into his coat pocket. The Banette immediately let out a frustrated sound but Newt simply shook his head, adjusting his hold on the irritable little thing.
"Now that will be enough of that. You've had quite enough fun for today," he murmured and the little creature finally seemed to settle--or at least give up. For now. Newt knew it was only a matter of time before it slipped off again to cause more trouble just because it seemed to find enjoyment in such a thing.
Keeping his head down out of habit since he didn't have magic to shield himself from view, Newt reached the hotel and took the stairs two at a time to get up to the fourth floor. The tension seemed to seep out of him as he reached his hotel room door and he quickly nudged it open and shut it just as fast, resting back against it with a sigh. The Banette in his hold squirmed and finally managed to get away, drifting over to join the multitudes of other Pokemon that were resting around the room. Newt's coat was shed, the article of clothing haphazardly tossed over an armchair as the wizard made his way over to where his suitcase rested. Opening it up lacked the usual spectacle that normally came with it but the Poffins and treats that filled it drew a delighted reaction from all his Pokemon. Newt couldn't help but chuckle, smiling warmly at his Audino as she climbed up onto the table to help distribute the goods.
"Hello to all of you as well," he said happily, handing a few of the treats to Queenie. "Now then, who's hungry?"

Character Name: Goro Akechi Series: Persona 5 Timeline: Rank 10 Confidant Canon Resource Links:Persona Wiki
Personality:
CW FOR SUICIDE AND CHILD ABUSE NOVEMBER/DECEMBER SPOILERS ABOUND
Everything about Goro Akechi is a lie.
... for the most part, anyway. Akechi, as he's most commonly known, seems pleasant on the outside. He's polite and intelligent. He speaks quietly, calmly, never really raising his voice. That's expected of him as an ace detective who works very closely with the Tokyo police, all of whom are adults. There's a reason he's known as the Charismatic Detective, after all--it's a title well-earned, and which has garnered him a faithful, almost obsessive following. He's easy to get along with, and he treats many people with respect. He has a slightly self-deprecating sense of humor, and as he's fairly young, he connects with his fans quite easily. Behind the charm, wit, and intelligence, Akechi is still just.... a kid. He's young, and so he seeks out friendship with the protagonist (who'll be referred to as Akira Kurusu), even going so far as to visit his caretaker's business, Leblanc. He spends hours drinking coffee, and making conversation with Sojiro Sakura and Akira. Interestingly enough, Akechi has a tendency to show up when he's most needed, to insert himself into conversations. Akechi knows what is expected of him, and he delivers, seemingly willingly. After all, he wants to pursue justice, and so he's agreeable and easy to get along with. Often, his meetings with the Phantom Thieves are pleasant, even if they think something is off.
So, when he proposes a deal with the Phantom Thieves, they agree... even if Akechi dangles blackmail above their heads. Still, it's good to have an ace detective on their side, and Akechi is smart and a valuable asset. He freely compliments his teammates on their performances in battle: He appreciates them for having his back, and he wants to make sure they know that. Akechi fits in well, a valuable asset in a particularly difficult palace. He has a wide range of abilities and his ability to think ahead and plan for anything is extremely valuable. It's almost scary how he manages to twist the rules of Sae's palace, and he does so without anyone really noticing. For all intents and purposes, Akechi is on their side, and he proves it time and time again. After all, he works toward pursuing justice.
It would be picture-perfect... if it were genuine.
In reality, Goro Akechi is angry. He's insecure. Akechi has had a brutal childhood: His mother committed suicide, and his father was never in the picture, which resulted in Akechi's being passed around the foster system; thus, Akechi started to believe that he was worthless, and so he became determined to prove that he was worthy of love. His insecurity is one of the reasons he hates Akira; he doesn't know why "attic trash" like Akira has all the things he never had. Why should someone who's a criminal have friends, people who love him, a better life than he ever had? It makes no sense to Akechi... and likely he's been obsessed with these thoughts ever since meeting Akira. His jealousy leads him to actually try to kill Akira. (It doesn't work, but he thinks it does.) For all intents and purposes, after murdering the person he's most jealous of, he's eliminated the source of his insecurity... and solving the Phantom Thieves case will bring him even more love and adoration.
As a further result of being in the system, Akechi has become hardened and essentially, any sincerity is snuffed out. He wants revenge on his father--Masayoshi Shido, a politician, and the man for whom Akechi works and who left his mother after she got pregnant with Akechi--and any other goal is useless and pointless. Akechi yearns for affection and attention. He wants to be the best, he wants to be loved, he wants to be acknowledged. While he is smart, he's also terribly manipulative. His reputation is built on a lie, and he stubbornly hides away the truth for fear of everything falling apart. Because everything hinges on his ability to hide the truth about himself, he wants to protect that... even at the cost of any relationship that might just be a touch healthy. Goro Akechi is an ace detective. Goro Akechi is a persona-user.
Goro Akechi is also a murderer who uses the Metaverse.
Consumed by the desire for revenge and acknowledgement, Akechi flung himself into the Metaverse. He initiates mental shutdowns by killing a person's Shadow, and then solving the case. Akechi knows that detectives, and good ones, can be well-respected and loved. And at his core, that's what he wants more than anything. Akechi is bitter, fueled and driven by hatred, and interestingly enough, he seems to, at some level, accept that he won't be truly loved. Yet he still works toward that goal. Funnily enough, Akechi desires love and approval, but he's also distant, unwilling to change his tune when he spends time with people who, even though they're aware of his possibly betraying them in some way, seem to really enjoy his company. They accept them, but Goro Akechi is first and foremost selfish. Anyone who gets in his way is a threat to be eradicated, and Akechi has the means to do so. Unfortunately, Akechi is still a tool; he's chained to Shido, and even though he hates Shido desperately, he is far from innocent. After all, Akechi was the one who sought out Shido and offered his services... as an assassin.
Akechi's far from innocent. He knows what he's doing, and he does it to further his goals.
And then he meets the protagonist. Akechi is further consumed by rage and jealousy that Akira has what he never will, what he never has had. He hates him so much, in fact, that he wants to kill him. Akechi is obsessed with Akira, despite genuinely liking him and feeling a connection to him. Akechi is dangerous, then, prone to hyper focusing on a person and unable to see anything else. It's an interesting trait to have in someone who touts himself as an ace detective, and it's likely Akechi doesn't realize how singleminded he can be. Akechi even goes so far as to impulsively enter the Metaverse to confront the Thieves, because he can't bear the thought of losing. This translates to his overthinking things; there are often pauses in his speech as he tries to sort out the answer people want to hear. It's another characteristic of his compulsion to lie. No one truly sees Akechi's true self, and he prefers to keep it that way.
Akechi might be self-absorbed and a terrible person, but in the end, he is plenty capable of self-awareness. (It's worth noting that in the spinoff Persona Q2, Akechi's experiences with the other Persona users opens his eyes to how unpleasant he can be.) Unfortunately, it takes someone slapping him in the face with what he's missed in his singlemindedness. Akechi knows what he's doing is wrong, but he really doesn't care as long as he gets what he wants. Of course... that's not to say that Akechi isn't capable of regret. He is. When he faces death, he likely on some level knows he's in the wrong. He realizes his actions are foolish, and that if he were to survive, he would be ruined.
So Goro Akechi sacrifices himself to save the Thieves. Because having the world see him as a fraud would essentially be the end for him.
But it also might be that he really does care for Akira Kurusu. After all, Akechi genuinely enjoyed the time he spent with the Thieves. It was the first time he could be a kid, could be himself--without all the baggage and issues. Akechi feels some sort of affection for the Thieves, because they once accepted him despite knowing his plan: kill Akira, ruin the Thieves, take the credit for solving the Thieves case. Akechi's affection for the Thieves, short-lived and surrounded by a web of lies though it was, doesn't excuse what he's done. It just makes him a little more human, and provides a bit of insight into what could have been, if only Akira and Akechi had met a few years earlier.

Character Name: Haru Okumura Series: Persona 5 Timeline: Post-game Canon Resource Links:Over here!
Personality: Known to the student body of Shujin as eccentrically reserved, Haru has lived--if you can even call it that--a trapped life in seclusion. As the daughter of Kunikazu Okumura, a well-known CEO, her upbringing actually kind of shows: she's reserved and detached from the school's student body, keeping to herself as much as possible, with trust issues to the tune of "what if that person just wants to be friends with me to curry favor with my father or otherwise use my family's status." She's not had any friends her own age, or even much of a social life at all, making her awkward when she interacts with people, and she's more than just a bit sheltered. This exterior, however, conceals a gentle, warmhearted girl whose true nature shines once she becomes friends with the Phantom Thieves.
Despite her upbringing, Haru is very empathetic and kind. She's quick to become friends with the other Phantom Thieves once she's joined the group, and one of the first things she does when she's aware of who the Thieves are in the real world is to call them out on turning their backs on a friend (even if Morgana most likely didn't give her anywhere close to the full story). She's the only member of the group that can't be found butting heads with Ryuji at any given moment, and the only member of the group that didn't join in the first place in order to punish someone. When she becomes friends with someone, she's affectionate in manner with them--she quickly dubs Makoto "Mako-chan" out of excitement to finally have a friend her age. Aside from her loving and empathetic nature, Haru's a hard worker despite her upbringing, gladly putting effort into a task like gardening and wanting to open her own cafe chain where the items available are made from coffee beans and vegetables that have been homegrown. She makes it clear that she plans to attain the skills necessary for doing so. Another quality that may surprise others thanks to Haru's upbringing is a certain wisdom of hers--she's fully aware of the privileged life she's led so far, even if it was a rather unhappy one. She knows she's luckier than most people in some respects, and as a result, she's very aware of where her areas of expertise actually are and where she'd only just get in the way. Haru is also a person who appreciates any bit of freedom she can get, thanks to the life she's lived up until her father's death--one where every step of the path in front of her had been planned out without her say. Even something as simple as being able to go out shopping herself is a luxury she wouldn't have had before.
Also, on a cute note, Haru's something of a romantic. When she talks about a relationship to the protagonist early on in the Confidant, she says it should be built on a "love so intense that just seeing the other person makes your chest tighten up."
It's thanks to the Phantom Thieves that Haru can be her truest self, however, when she's operating as Noir in the Metaverse. As stated before, she's probably one of the only members of the Phantom Thieves that didn't explicitly join in order to punish someone. It's mainly so she can escape her arranged marriage to the gross creep Sugimura, but she does come to deeply desire her father's reformation, and a chance to reach a resolution with him... even if it's one that's robbed from her. She may have gone in without being true to her real desires to start with, meaning her Persona hadn't really awakened, but that really doesn't last long once her father's Shadow makes it clear he has no illusions about the type of man Sugimura really is and how little he actually cares for Haru's well-being. Despite her resolve, however, her father's Shadow still manages to get to her and trip her up near the end, where she falls for his fake apology, landing most of the other Thieves in a trap. She... she's doing her best. The reasoning for her code name, Noir, is something that she'd actually put thought into beyond a line-of-sight sort of logic: though she is a heroine of justice, she is still operating on the darker side of the law as one of the Phantom Thieves. It's also worth noting that her gentle nature goes out the window in the Metaverse, especially when it comes to any Shadow standing in her path. As Noir, Haru displays a rather startling bloodthirsty streak when it comes to Shadows. Combat is stress-relieving, finishing off an enemy is a thrill unlike any other, Shadows begging for their lives sets off a spark of excitement. Even Makoto, a rather brutal fighter as Queen, with a tendency to take out her pent-up anger on Shadows, finds Haru's sadistic streak rather alarming.
(The one time this anger shows up outside of the Metaverse is on Valentine's Day, if the protagonist has cheated on her, expressing her anger with an eerily calm smile. Woman scorned, indeed.)
In summary: Haru is a good girl, given everything she's gone through. Even if she's kind of alarming sometimes.

Character Name: Dante Series: Devil May Cry Timeline: End of Devil May Cry 3 Canon Resource Links:Here!
Original Character Background: N/A
Personality: Dante, like most people, is someone who was shaped by his past. He’s spent much of his life alone in some way or another - alienated by his heritage, the loss of people he’s cared for, having to shoulder the blame of tragedy - and it’s made him someone who’s...difficult to deal with. He hides his hurts with armor made out of crude humor and ego, using jokes and jibes to seem cool and unaffected by what happens around him.
At the surface, it seems like he takes very few things seriously. He reunites with his brother after years of assuming Vergil dead and the first thing he does is crack a joke. He treats the summoning of Temen-ni-gru - something that could very well destroy the world as he knows it - as a party he’s been invited to. It’s all one big joke, so none of it hurts. He’s not bothered by it at all. Nor is he bothered by being branded a demon - after all, a half-truth is still the truth, and he’s gotten some pretty sweet benefits from being half-demon. He can survive being shot in the head, after all, and Lady’s words are just words.
Dante is also someone who plays his cards close to his chest, for as much as he likes to brag and shittalk. He talks a big game, but very little of what he says is important until it becomes relevant. He doesn’t tell Lady why he’s in the Temen-ni-gru until he’s trying to stop her from having to face the monster her father has become - even though telling her before could have possibly changed the way she’s treated him during their climbs through the tower. Most of what he says simply doesn’t have any substance to it and serves his own ego, and there’s very little honesty. He’s not someone you should take at face value, because it’s very likely there’s something he isn’t saying. Because most of what he’s saying is garbage.
At his core, though, Dante is someone who cares. For as much as he acts - and is - a callous jerk, he cares deeply and sincerely about his friends and family. (Probably because there’s not much in those categories.) He cares about Vergil, despite everything, to the point where he cries over his brother’s decision to remain in the Underworld despite insisting that demons can’t cry. He cares about Lady, after a time, and he cares about getting revenge for his mother.
But, you know, he doesn’t want people to know that. He wants people to see him as the wacky, carefree asshole who showboats and manages to back it up. He wants people to see him as a badass. It’s easier that way.

What exactly do I gotta do with this thing? Do I need to polish it? Sharpen it? It can fight, right, so it needs some sort of maintenance, right?
[How do ghost sword.]
...Not like there’s a lot of blacksmiths around, huh?
