Character
Name: Applejack
Series: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Timeline: Post-Season 2 (Are we still able to import Route 29 AUs?)
Canon Resource Links: MLP Wiki
Personality: Applejack's character focuses on the concept of strength and what it means to possess not only great physical strength, but also great strength of character. Before the series even begins, Applejack is well-known in her home town as a remarkably dependable and capable person. There is little she cannot do, and do alone, from construction and repairs, to solving disputes, to running her family ranch. She's athletic, has good business sense, and is musically-inclined. A true jack-of-all trades, it seems as if she could accomplish anything she sets her mind to, but such gifts comes with their own share of issues.
With dependability comes a hero complex. She can accomplish anything because she feels in her own mind that she has to. She pushes herself to the brink because the thought of letting herself down, letting anyone down, is unthinkable. Strong-willed and stubborn, Applejack takes "you can't" as a challenge, no matter how impossible, and will run herself ragged trying to prove her doubters wrong. Without the intervention of her friends, she can work herself to the point of collapse, all to prove that she can. Her competitive streak is also second-to-none, as second place is just the first loser. It's more important than almost anything to come out on top, and to do so fairly. It's not a real victory if you have to cheat to do so, and so help you if she catches you trying to rig the competition.
AJ's down-to-earth nature leaves her playing the role of the Straight Man in her circle of friends, acting as the grounding point to contrast against the more over-the-top antics going on around her. In many situations she will act as the last sane person in the room, and has expressed her frustration when her advice is ignored and bad things happen. Respect plays a large role in AJ's interaction with other characters, and a lack of it (be it towards her or others) from those she interacts with can set her off.
The concept of "family" has shaped much of her identity as a person. She lives on her family's land, works her family's farm to run her family's business. At the end of the day she is, if nothing else, an Apple. Having lost her parents at a young age, she was instead raised by her elderly grandmother, along with her older brother and younger sister. This is the ignition point that forms the basis of her character later in life, of being self-sufficient, of not being a bother or a drain on anyone else, of being able to take care of not only herself, but anyone else who may need it. She spends much of her young life acting as a mother figure to her sister, gaining her empathy beyond her years. Usually the first to notice when something is wrong, she will always be there to provide support and encouragement.
That's not to say that you have to be blood in order to be family, however. AJ considers her circle of friends to be a second family, one where she is able to open up more and allow herself to be vulnerable. Showing the cracks in her armor makes her deeply uncomfortable, but she has slowly learned that she doesn't have to keep her guard up all the time, and that there are people who love her that will help shoulder her burdens. She'll shoulder theirs as well, giving them all the time and help they may need to solve their problems or accomplish their goals. It may take work to win over this stubborn southerner, but once you do, you'll have one of the best friends you could ever ask for.

It was supposed to be perfect. How many months had she spent scrubbing floors at the local gym, hauling boxes at the Pokemon Center? It had taken every dollar she had, but she had finally managed to buy a spot of land to settle down. It was only a few acres, and a little bit remote, but it was hers. Hers to work, to build, to have a stable home and growing income, to finally have some semblance of the life she had before she came to this world. It would be slow goings at first of course, but over time things would get bigger and better, just as it had before on Sweet Apple Acres. There may be trainers out there who can match wits with her in battle, but agriculture was her element. There was no one better.
Which only made the sight before her all the more disheartening. The time had come for her first harvest, the moment where she can finally say with confidence that she was a farmer once again. She had taken her basket to the base of the small cluster of trees she called her orchard, prepared to take the haul to market. But when her Tauros bashed his head against their first target, only a handful of fruit fell free. Worse, what fell lose were partially-eaten or riddled with imperfections, the kind of apples that would be ground up for feed, not sold in a store. Something had gotten into her groves, leaving only the rejects behind. But all it took was one upward glance to find the culprit, or culprits as it were.
Hanging from the branches, blending in with the leaves, with their beady eyes and green bodies, were Applin. A lot of Applin.
The apple-obsessed monsters had only come to this world a short time ago, but they were already here making their homes in her livelihood! The blonde's mind raced, trying to figure out what she could do to end this infestation. Dragon-types were hardly her specialty. Poison and Ice would hurt the trees, and Bugs would only make things worse! Acting quick, she instructs her bullish partner to keep knocking the little pests away from their quarry, trap them with Rock Tomb, do whatever was needed to keep them from ruining any more apples.
She had to go make a call, get some help. Surely there were some Fairy-type trainers nearby that could lend a hand. She only hoped that when it was all said and done, there'd be enough left over to reward whoever showed up.

Also, I wanted to know if it's possible to maintain memories from Route 29 despite it being about 500 years since that game ended and this one began? If not I'm 100% cool with starting fresh, but I figured it was worth the ask.
