Quest Board

"Calling all Pokémon Trainers!"
Welcome to the Quest Board! Here, you will find a rotating selection of scenarios to be used as prompts separate from larger scope game plots.
- To fulfill a quest, a player must make a post directly pertaining to the scenario outlined in the quest details, or thread the equivalent on another post. We want quests to be an opportunity for CR as much as they are a chance to grab some IC rewards!
- Quests are not exclusive to the first player who claims them, and multiple players are welcome to coordinate on the same post to claim a quest's reward or its fail condition.
- The literal mechanics of the quest do not need to be threaded out word for word; that is to say, you don't need a play-by-play of every step your character takes in helping Meemaw cross the busy Goldenrod street. But some meaningful IC interaction based on the quest is required to claim its reward.
- ICly, characters can learn about the task they're undertaking in whatever way is appropriate for the quest and character. Word of mouth, coffee shop bulletin board, the network, or just the right place at the right time.
- Feel free to use these prompts as loose jumping off points! If there is something specific to your character that would make it more interesting if you veer off the exact path outlined by the quest, lean into it!
A Flashy Substitute
Amphy, the Olivine City Lighthouse's resident Ampharos, is nowhere to be found! Her keepers are assiduously tracking her down, but in the meantime, someone needs to keep the harbor safe! Trainers with Pokémon who know Flash or can otherwise glow for a long period of time can report to the lighthouse to help out. Multiple trainers are welcome, so that their Pokémon can work in shifts!
Eventually, Amphy is found close to home, nestled in an unchecked supply closet to brood over her eggs.
Success: Mareep egg with a Hidden Ability (Plus)
Failure: When the light in the harbor is interrupted, a cargo ship crashes against the rocks and makes a mess along the shoreline. Olivine City is forced to deal with a sharp increase in Trubbish and Grimer for the next week.

Shiny Hunters Wanted
A wealthy, anonymous collector is looking for a shiny Farfetch'd, but isn't so into the idea ofbiking back and forth for sixteen hours getting one himself. A well-dressed "assistant" in dark sunglasses meets you in the lobby of the Goldenrod Grande Hotel and passes you a locked metal suitcase containing two Ultra Balls. Each houses a Farfetch'd. Your job is to get a shiny out of these two. How you go about it? Not your employer's problem.
Success: The assistant wears the same suit and the same sunglasses to meet you in the same lobby to retrieve the parent Farfetch'd, as well as the shiny offspring. He hands you a suitcase identical to the one you received the Farfetch'd in, but this time it contains 10,000p all for you.
Failure: In spite of your best efforts, there is not a single rosy Farfetch'd to be found among the offspring you have painstakingly hatched. But nobody will notice if you keep one little guy for yourself. It has an egg move of your choice.

What's an Ace to a Joker?
Ace Trainer Chazley, who has sixteen and a half badges (no one can quite figure out what he's talking about when he says half) has been hanging around Route 29 with his level 100 Charizard and challenging new, often young trainers to battles they can't possibly hope to win.
It would be a shame if someone showed up with a bigger, meaner Charizard to knock Chazley down a peg. Or any other Pokémon. Please can literally anyone kick this guy back to Victory Road.
Success: An Ace Trainer payout to the tune of 5,000p, and the eternal respect of the Rapscallions and Youths as the trainer who reclaimed their stomping grounds.
Failure: You did your best, but it turns out you can't win them all. One of the New Bark Town moms gives you a home-made apple pie as a thank-you for trying.

$Meowth
Rocket researchers are hard at work answering a question for the ages: Can you get enough Meowths using Payday together to generate an infinite money machine?
It just so happens that Johto Breeders' Club is holding a Meowth Show this coming month at an event hall in Goldenrod City. Your mission is to nab as many of these lucky cats as possible. Any regional variant is A-OK for Team Rocket's purposes, as long as it knows Pay Day. The event is well catered and open to the public for a small entry fee, so a crime-minded individual has some options for pulling off this heist.
Regardless of success or failure, Rockets may take interest in the abundance of wearable Meowth mascot paws at the event. May be good for disguise accessorizing...
Success: No Admin will be any the wiser if you keep one of these prize Meowths for yourself... It has a Hidden Ability: Unnerve for Kantoan and Galarian, or Rattled for Alolan.
Failure: BUSTED. You (or one of your co-conspirators) got caught Meowth-handed, and the Jennys will be bursting through the doors any minute. You manage to get away, and other grunts are able to pick up enough slack with their own windfalls that your punishment is limited to being assigned to hairball cleanup duty back at the base.
