Event Info
May 12th - 15th - Swarm: Jumpluff Down Your Throat
It's time for the annual Jumpluff migration. Which means... lots and lots of pollen. Cotton-like spores everywhere! This year is especially bad, as they're swarming - so here's hoping you didn't have (or don't find yourself developing) allergies, you're going to be miserable.
As are your Pokemon, as it turns out! Any Pokemon that has something identifiable as a nose may fall prey to the pollen, ending up sneezy, sniffly, and with runny eyes. If you're very unlucky, your seasonal-allergy-afflicted Pokemon might lose control of their abilities. (Feel free to interpret this creatively, rather than just having their abilities stop working - for example, a Pokemon with Shadow Tag might be inadvertantly stepping on their trainer's shadow and freezing them in place!)May 23rd - 26th - Swarm: Be Very Flightened
It's not quite summer yet, but the warm weather has summoned... The Bugs. There are far too many Yanma buzzing around, getting in everyone's way, stealing food, and being territorial. Hey, did you know that Yanma can generate shockwaves that shatter windows if they flap their wings hard enough?
Weather Info
May 1st - 8th
Now that everyone's back from balmy prehistoric Johto, the air might feel a bit chillier than they've gotten used to - but it's still very comfortably into mid-spring weather! Days are sunny, and nights are mild. Everything smells fresh and green, without the jungle-y intensity of the past weeks.May 9th - 15th
It's windy this week! Keep hold of your umbrellas, tents, and anything else that might get blown away easily! It's certainly not helping with the pollen...May 16th - 22nd
This week is extremely wet - the rain goes almost non-stop, though it often drops down to a mere drizzle. There's a few days with full-on thunderstorms. Watch out: some of the routes might be flooded out, and take more effort to navigate!May 23rd - 31st
The weather is lovely, warm enough to go around without outerwear, but with a light breeze to break the humidity of last week. If only it weren't starting off with swarms of bugs.
JULY 2017
On the evening of the fourth, strange but beautiful lights flicker in the sky. Those who remember the lights that shone when Nephilis was released from captivity at Tohjo Falls will recognize them as being one in the same! It seems the newly-freed Legendary is hard at work once again… this time, it’s nothing so obvious as lavish holiday gifts. Rather, people may just begin to notice migrations of Pokemon to places where they’d previously never been seen! Better keep an eye on those Availability Pages….
Man, it’s never felt harder to get out of bed… it’s like the blankets are just swallowing you up. …. WAIT A MINUTE. WHEN DID THE BED GET SO HUGE? Actually, it’s not the bed that got huge-- it’s you who got Minimized! As always with these freaky Fridays, everyone will be back to normal by tomorrow… but getting through normal everyday tasks might be difficult when you’re the size of a Flabebe.
You know that sort of surreal feeling when you walk into class and there’s an unexpected substitute teacher? What if instead of a substitute teacher, it was just a Substitute doll sitting there on the teacher’s desk and staring at you blankly? Actually, what if you walked in, and the teacher was still there but the DESK was gone, with a Substitute doll sitting there instead, still staring at you blankly? On July 14th, trainers may start noticing a whole lot of these plushes around, mysteriously in spots where they left things the night before and now can’t find... and just when you really needed that Great Ball, too…!
Some days, it just seems like nothing will go right… even things you’re normally good at. Today, trainers might find themselves having trouble with tasks no matter how hard they try. The solution, as it usually is even on non-freaky days… is to pass the baton to a buddy and ask for their help. Don’t feel bad about it; just know that up at the Indigo Plateau, Bruno just spent a solid two hours trying to get the lid off of a pickle jar and wound up needing Will to do it for him. Friendship is magic.
The day couldn’t have started off sunnier-- the whole month’s been hot, but it’s baking out and trainers everywhere are doing whatever it could possibly take to keep cool. Swimming, playing with their Water-type Pokemon, laying face-down in the air-conditioned Pokemon Center lobby… Which would be fine, but for some reason, Electric-type Pokemon are acting strange and restless all day long! The reason for this becomes clear around 4 PM or so, when suddenly the wind picks up, the sky goes black, and the most intense thunderstorm either region’s seen in years comes roaring in (literally, in fact, we’re pretty sure we saw Raikou galloping around out there…). The gale-like winds and pouring rain are bad enough, but around 6PM, a massive power surge makes cities and towns everywhere go dark as their power gets blown out! Restoring it will take all weekend, with the more remote towns taking longer than the cities… thankfully for everyone who’s been working their AC to death, the rainstorm at least cooled things off a little...
