Badge Requests

What does it take? It changes for each gym! Normally, the games increase in difficulty as you progress, but that wouldn't be any fun if characters could just as easily take on the Gyms that are supposed to be for top trainers only. THEREFORE, the gym leaders aren't going to be pushovers like in the games! In order to win a badge, the mods will take into account your current roster and the attacks and advantages to see whether your pokémon is strong enough to win a badge or not.

Each gym leader has a Regular Team of pokemon and an Elite Team of pokemon you can challenge. It's up to a trainer to decide which team to challenge, but if you take on the Elite Team of six level 100 Pokemon, you'll receive double the prize money. The items, however, are not doubled. Excellent for trainers looking for the extra challenge or those looking to make money fast.

!!! Badges must be mod approved. To earn a badge, please comment on this post. Please don't ask for more than two badges to be approved at once!

The Elite Four is now distributing Keystones and Mega Stones to promising trainers! Any trainer who has defeated all eight gyms of a single region will be granted a Keystone and one Mega Stone of their choice. No player will be able to have more than one Mega Stone at a time, and those looking to switch theirs out may do so once every four months. Mega Stones may be used in any casual trainer battle, but as far as gyms go may only be used in Elite battles.

The Indigo Plateau is now open to challengers! To qualify, trainers must have all sixteen badges from Johto and Kanto. Every Pokémon they face will be level 100, and the Elite Four and the Champion have heaps of talent and experience. As such, we will be reviewing Indigo Plateau challenges with more scrutiny than we bring to badge requests. A higher level of strategy is required to win on this field. Show us what you've got!

The League Certificate qualifying the winner to create and lead their own Pokémon "Gym." This Gym is part not of the Indigo League, but the Aurora League.
Aurora League Gym Leaders may choose their own battle specializations, as well as. design their own unique Gym (which will take one month to build from the time of request) and Badge (which will be available as soon as the Gym opens). They will be compensated for their work as Gym Leaders with a stipend that will cover building costs, labor (the Leader's and any Trainers they may employ), and rewards for victorious challengers.

We ask that Aurora Gym Leaders think carefully about the location of their Gym and the difficulty level they wish to present challengers. We also ask that they create their own Badge Request page like this one so that others can request battles with them.

To officially request an Aurora League Gym, fill out the provided template and comment here.

Please use this form to request a badge or a showdown with the Elite Four! Post your request as a comment to this post. Badges will generally be processed once per week, on either Wednesday or during the weekend. Please try not to PM or IM mods about badges (including elite challenges) unless your request has gone unanswered for more than a week.

!!! Please request badges as your character is actually in the general area of the gym!

!!! To preserve the spirit of the game, obtaining badges using recently-inherited Pokémon (ie, Pokemon received from dropped characters) that massively outlevel your own is discouraged. If this happens, you may be asked by the badge mod to revise your team. Inherited Pokemon that your character has had for a while and are the same level as the rest of your character's team are fine to use!

!!! Remember that you must fight all four members of the Elite Four and Champion Lance in a row. You may heal your Pokémon between battles and take a short break, but you cannot leave without ending your challenge.

Character: Allura | [personal profile] lioness_rampant
Badge/Gym Leader: Bugsy / Hive Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here! ⇨ Cinderace, Altaria, and Rattata
Battle Details:

Gyrgan the Cinderace is first on the field, Growling at Pinsir to lower its attack and then following that up Ember to keep its distance if it can, since Pinsir is a very physical attacker. Flame Charge comes next, which increases Gyrgan's speed. If Pinsir uses a Fighting type move, Allura counters with... Counter, which doubles the damage done to Pinsir. Gyrgan has the type advantage, so even if he gets scuffed up, he comes out on top.

Next it's Blaytz that takes center stage. Blaytz is higher leveled, and his Flying type puts Heracross' Bug/Fighting at an extreme disadvantage. He comes out of the gate with Perish Song, and follows that up with Aerial Ace until Heracross drops.

Gyrgan gets swapped in to deal with Scizor, dealing wicked blows with his Flame Charge and peppering Scizor with Embers. Klaizap is here to serve as backup if necessary.

Badge/Gym Leader: Bryce / Glacier Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Aegislash, Mimikyu, Archeops, Haunter
Battle Details: Against Bryce, Keith's relying on a beatdown strategy using his high levelled pokemon to deal as much damage as possible. Against Dewgong, he sends in Mimikyu who will take a turn to set up a Swords Dance while Dewgong breaks the disguise. Then Mimikyu will go for a powerful Wood Hammer to deal super effective damage. Mimikyu will stay in to Wood Hammer the Lapras too, but the recoil from the move will force Keith to switch out. Aegislash will clean up with a combination of super effective sacred swords and shadow sneaks. Against the Mamoswine, Haunter will deal play out a grind game with a combo of hypnosis, dream eater and nightmare to help whittle down the mighty beast while taking advantage of a ground immunity thanks to levitate.

Badge/Gym Leader: Clair / Rising Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Greninja, Archeops, Mimikyu, Skarmory, Haunter
Battle Details: Against Gyarados, Haunter will start things off with a Will-O-Wisp to cut the pokemon's attack and then go on the offense with a combination of shadow balls and sucker punches. In a pinch Archeops will be switched in to finish things off with a super effective Rock Slide. Against Kingdra, Archeops will stay in to throw off one super effective dragon claw, but will need to be switched out on account of defeatist activating after taking a hit. Enter Mimikyu who'll promptly smack Kingdra with a super effective play rough. Against Dragonite, Mimikyu will stay in on the Dragonite switch in dealing another play rough to the face. Greninja will be there to throw off a quad effective ice beam to help close out the match.

Badge/Gym Leader: Storm Badge
Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM
Team: The gang but minus ~15 levels for Lilipup, Staraptor and Dedenne
Battle Details: This is backdated to the 14th of December.
This is a battle for Dedenne and Dartrix who hold the clear type advantage here and also outlevel the gym leader's Pokémon by a good bit. They'll do all of the heavy lifting here, but!! Meowstic is finally featuring on the frontlines more heavily! He's taking the first battle against Hitmonlee with his psychic attacks! A big day, he's getting used to being strong!

Badge/Gym Leader: Glacier
Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM
Team: The gang once more
Battle Details: This battle could be known as attack of the cuties. Lilipup may be only small but she's Level 100 now and she's brutal in a fight. Brunt force attacks are going to be her strategy, which Dedenne will imitate her in. At the start of battles, Meowstic will get swapped in to cause status effects like confusion. Staraptor is on backup despite the type weakness, given he's level 100 as well.

Team: Here! Bewear (Lvl 74), Ampharos (Lvl 66), and Scyther (Lvl 71)
Battle Details: Leading the fight is Knife Man, Romelle's Scyther to face off against Whitney's Girafarig. Scyther's going to hit Girafarig with X-Scissor and take Girafarig out.

She'll send out Juniberry the Ampharos against Clefable to set up light screen and lessen Clefable's special attacks. Juni will tank a hit from Clefable before she paralyzes it with Thunder Wave. Then Juni will go for a handful of Thunder Punches to knock Clefable out.

Lastly, Miltank. Juni will paralyze Miltank to set up for Bewear. Miltank gets some good damage off with Body Slam before Romelle switches into Princess the Bewear. Princess is high level and also hits like a truck, so a Hammer Arm or two should take Miltank out.

Character: Steve Palchuk | [personal profile] breakyourlife
Badge/Gym Leader: Plain Badge (Whitney)
Elite/Regular: Regular!
Team: Over here! (Swampert [lvl 74], Miltank [lvl 51])
Battle Details:

Most of (well... all) of Steve's team is a little overpowered here, but that's because he wanted to be sure he could impress Whitney with Bessie the Miltank's supreme strength. If he were more patient he'd wait until she was strong enough to take on Whitney's entire team herself, but alas Steve has been itching to do this for a while and he doesn't want to wait any longer.

He's learned that normal types are weak against fighting moves, so in the absence of any fighting type Pokémon Buttsnack the Swampert will be attempting to use Hammer Arm to take down Girafarig and Clefable. Which... doesn't actually help in either of those cases. Particularly not Clefable. Luckily, he is a high enough level that neither one should give him too much trouble anyway. Especially if he switches to using something else from Buttsnack's move pool for Clefable.

Once those two are out of the way, it's Bessie's time to shine! He's going to try and beat Whitney's Miltank with her own signature move, Rollout. Hopefully level advantage will be enough, but he won't have the foresight to have her use Defense Curl first. He will get her to use Milk Drink to gain back health if need be, however.

Battle Details:

Buttsnack the Swampert will be attempting to take this gym solo. He ought to do pretty well against Dewgong and Lapras thanks to his much higher level and access to Hammer Arm.

Mamoswine isn't obviously a ground type to Steve's mind, but Hammer Arm still turns out to be good here and he'll probably wind up using Hydro Pump anyway.

TL;DR: Hammer Arm is the star of the show, and with any luck so will Buttsnack. :|b

Battle Details: Scizor's pretty much here to take out all of Morty's Pokemon with its Dark-type moves. It doesn't get STAB, but Scizor hits like a truck and is just...overleveled to hell and back so he'll be able to handle this on his own. Chandelure and Ampharos are here as backup! He's pretty much going to Night Slash his way to victory here, though he'll probably hurt himself a few times due to confusion. Not much else to say!

Character: Allura | [personal profile] lioness_rampant
Badge/Gym Leader: Goldenrod / Whitney
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here! ⇨ Vivillon, Cinderace, Altaria
Battle Details: Isille the Vivvilon is up first; apart from her superior level, her bug type gives her the advantage. She'll start with Stun Spore to inflict paralysis and then press her advantage while her enemy is struggling. She'll use Bug Buzz until Girafarig faints, and if any damage is inflicted, she'll perform Draining Kiss to regain her health.

Gyrgan the Cinderace will face Clefable. He'll be using a very direct approach, employing his fighting-type moves fast and hard. Clefable's normal-type moves give extra power to Counter, and a few Low Sweeps should have Clefable unable to battle in fairly short order. If he's put to sleep by Clefable's Sing, Blaytz will take his place and finish the job with Steel Wing.

Miltank gets to go head-to-head with Blaytz the Altaria, who is more than strong enough to weather a few Rollouts even with the type disadvantage at play. Except, he starts out with Roost and will use it periodically to negate his flying type, bringing the dragon to bear. Dragon Pulse gets STAB, and is followed by Allura's favorite move: Return, Return, Return.

Badge/Gym Leader: Ecruteak / Morty
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here! ⇨ Rattata, Trigel, Altaria
Battle Details: Since ghost types are weak to dark moves, it's Klaizap the Rattata's time to shine. She has an extra advantage because as a normal-type pokemon, ghost moves have no effect on her. She'll harry the Haunter with Crunch and Sucker Punch, before finishing things up with Shadow Ball--a ghost-type move that will inflict double the damage.

She's feeling confident, so Allura's going to go as far as she can with Klaizap, but if the Rattata becomes unable to battle, Trigel gets to come out and play, followed by Blaytz. They might not have any type advantage but both of them are powerful enough to carry the team to victory with their combined efforts.

Battle Details:
Dartrix is going up against Gyrados with primarily grass type attacks. She outlevels Gyrados by a good bit too, like all James' Pokémon do compared to Claire's. Staraptor and Lilipup (if needed) will take Kingdra. They may not have type advantage, but they are both level hundred. Meowstic will go out for the early battle with Dragonite to cause confusion, but then Dedenne is being sent in. Being Fairy/Electric she's got the double type advantage and James has been buffing her up for this grand battle.

Team: Over here! (Swampert [lvl 84], Arcanine [lvl 88])
Battle Details:

Buttsnack the Swampert is stronger this time around (by a whole five levels, wow!), but having had his ego put in check last time Steve will be bringing along his Arcanine for the finale.

His strategy to start with will be much the same, since he's seen for himself just how good Hammer Arm is against Pryce's Pokémon. He'll be making heavy use of it against Dewgong and Lapras.

When it comes to Mamoswine then Steve will switch to Blaze the Arcanine. His weakness to rock type moves does make things a little dicey, but hopefully having powerful fire type moves like Flamethrower and Heat Wave will help move the match along quickly. If things do start looking bad for Blaze then Reversal is there as a last resort.

Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here; Chandelure (Lvl 88), Ampharos (Lvl 88), Bewear (Lvl 98)
Battle Details: Juniberry the Ampharos goes out first to confuse Hitmonlee. Juni is slower so she does take a hit of damage, but she can tank it with the level difference. She goes for Electro Ball, and Hitmonlee hits itself in Confusion which causes it to faint.

Next up is Hitmonchan, and Juni uses the same strategy. However, Confuse Ray misses and Hitmonchan gets a good hit on Juni. Romelle switches her out for Captain the Chandelure. He goes for a Will-o-wisp which lands. Hitmonchan doesn't have much against Captain, so after using Flame Burst two or three times, Hitmonchan is taken out.

Romelle switches back to Juni for Poliwrath. She's playing a dangerous game here, given Juni's health; but Juni manages to tank a hit from Poliwrath and KO it with Thunder.

Badge/Gym Leader: Mineral / Jasmine
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Boom. Chandelure (Lvl 88), Bewear (Lvl 98), Bibarel (Lvl 92)
Battle Details: Lieutenant the Bibarel is here as backup, because Captain can take on these fools!!! Captain burns Skarmory with a Will-o-wisp, though Skarmory is able to set up with Spikes as a result. Chandelure then goes for Inferno, which lands onto Skarmory and knocks it out.

Romelle keeps Captain out to keep her other Pokemon from getting damaged by Spikes. She goes straight for the Overheat when Magneton comes out, and if needed hits with Inferno again before knocking Magneton out.

However, she needs to switch for Steelix. She brings out Princess, who uses Hammer Arm on Steelix. Steelix's defense is high though and it gets a hit on Princess with Iron Tail, which lowers Princess' defense. Her speed is also lowered due to Hammer Arm. Steelix gets off another Iron Tail, bringing Princess to critical health; but she's able to hit Steelix with another Hammer Arm and take it out before she faints.

With a Hammer Arm and Superpower, she'll be able to take it down. Next is Ampharos against Lapras. Ampharos is also relatively tanky, especially once she puts up Light Screen. Ampharos has STAB advantage on Lapras so she'll take it out with Thunder. Finally, Princess comes out again to face Mamoswine. She'll hit Mamoswine with two or three Hammer Arms to take it out.

She'll also face Kingdra, put up a Light Screen and hit Kingdra with two or three Dragon Pulses, though she'll also take some damage in the process. Finally, Dragonite. Team: Here! (Swampert [lvl 99], Skuntank [lvl 95])
Battle Details:

Honestly... knowing Buttsnack the Swampert is level 99 gives Steve a confidence not to use much in the way of strategy against these guys. He'll be using brute force to try and beat things down.

However, after his defeat at Pryce's gym he's not quite confident enough to go in without backup. If anything goes wrong then his Skuntank (Stink Bomb) will be sent out to finish things off.

Character: Allura | [personal profile] lioness_rampant
Badge/Gym Leader: Chuck / Storm Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here! ⇨ Altaria, Cinderace, Pachirisu
Battle Details: All of Allura's pokemon are kind of overpowered for this challenge. She starts with Blaytz the Altaria, whose flying type gives him a distinct advantage. He uses Fly and Aerial Ace to take down both Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, with potential backup from Gyrgan the Cinderace, who uses Counter to double the damage of his attacks. Trigel the Pachirisu comes in last, using Thunder Wave to paralyze Poliwrath and following up with Thunderbolt until Poliwrath is unable to battle.

Badge/Gym Leader: Jasmine / Mineral Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here! ⇨ Pachirisu, Cinderace, Altaria
Battle Details: Trigel is coming out first this time, using Electroball against Skarmory for the type and speed advantage, since Pachirisu's base speed is 25 points higher. Gyrgan comes out to face Magneton, belting out Pyro Balls until KO. Allura withdraws him after that and puts Blaytz on the field to face Steelix, since fire types are weak to ground but Blaytz'z flying type makes him immune. He uses a combo of Ice Beam and Natural Gift (with a cheri berry to produce a fire-type move) to take down Steelix.

Character: Allura | [personal profile] lioness_rampant
Badge/Gym Leader: Pryce / Glacier Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here! ⇨ Pachirisu, Cinderace, Altaria
Battle Details: This challenge is a bit tricky for Allura's team in terms of typing, though she has a clear level advantage. Trigel the Pachirisu is first up, facing Dewgong with a Thunder Wave to paralyze and Electro Ball to take advantage of her superior speed, followed up with Thunderbolt.Pachirisu will take on both Dewgong and Lapras, but she's swapped out for Blaytz the Altaria when Mamoswine is up.

Although Blaytz, too, has a weakness to ice attacks, but he's immune to ground moves and his level means he's able to tank his way through a few hits--in addition, he starts out with Cotton Guard to raise his defense by three stages. Going on the offensive, he'll use Steel Wing and Allura's favorite, Return. An occasional Roost will restore his HP and also negate his flying type, which will help prevent him from being damaged by ice moves. Gyrgan is here primarily for backup, since he's strong against ice but weak to water and ground.

Badge/Gym Leader: Claire / Rising Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here! ⇨ Pachirisu, Altaria, Rattata
Battle Details: As with the last gym, Trigel is up first to take on Gyarados. She starts with Thunder Wave out the gate and follows up with Thunderbolt and Return. She'll be swapped out for Blaytz when Kingdra's sent out, but not until she's used Thunder Wave again to paralyze it. Blaytz follows up with a powerful Moonblast and finishes the job with Dragon Pulse.

The final showdown will be between Blaytz and Dragonite. Leading off with Perish Song guarantees the fight can't last long. Next is Ice Beam, which has a slight chance of freezing Dragonite. Either way, she'll wrap things up with Moonblast and Dragon Pulse once more.

Badge/Gym Leader: Brock
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Stone Free, Ermes, and Weather Report
Battle Details: SO JOLYNE IS SLAMMING INTO THIS GYM THE FIRST DAY OF MARCH. THE SECOND IT OPENS. Because she's ready.

She's going to be using Stone Free a hell of a lot simply due to type advantage, making sure to string shot anything that might be faster than her team and making Brock cry by abusing endure and razor leaf.

Ermes is the ace in the hole what with abusing stamina to up her defense any time a physical move hits and, let's be real, that's Brock's entire damn team. Between high horsepower, counter, and bulldoze, it's going to be an absolute mess.

Weather Report is mostly there if needed to clean up after any mess and also for use of tail whip, baby-doll eyes, and sand attack as that furfrou is an absolute asshole.

Of course Jolyne is still continuing her trend of using anything but the actual attack names and is absolutely going in with the intention of making Brock want to cry after she's done with him.

She rude.

Badge/Gym Leader: Rainbow /Erika
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Firehawk | Talonflame (Lv.100), Rakkbat | Golbat (Lv.100), Elpis | Lunatone (Lv. 100)

Battle Details: Maya is 100% using type advantages to her advantage here as somehow she has a lot of flying pokemon to pick from.

She will be going after the Bellossom with Firehawk who will be using her fire and flying attacks such as Flame Charge and Acrobatics. Always try to get rid of the stronger pokemon first.

Next, Rakkbat will use her poison and flying advantage to go after the Tangrowth. She will be using moves such as Air Slash and Venoshock. Poison all the things.

Lastly, not a flying type but still a Rock type for that advantage, Maya will send out Elpis to take on the Jumpluff. She will be focussing on Rock type attacks like stone edge and also level advantage. The other two if they are knocked out will also be there in case the rock attacks aren't cutting it.

Badge/Gym Leader: Brock / Boulder Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular Team
Team: Artemis the Gallade, Cú Chulainn the Scizor, and Hercules the Pangoro
Battle Details: Artemis with resistance against Rock-type moves will lead the charge in this fight, opening with Swords Dance to pump up their Attack with the hope of one-shotting Rhyhorn with a single Leaf Blade at 4x effectiveness, using it once or twice more if they absolutely have to. With the Golem's formidable Defense stat, they'll open with a Leer to bring it down before continuing to spam Leaf Blade until it goes down—the high critical rate of the move and the previous Swords Dance setup should help here. By the time Onix gets brought out, they'll use Leer twice to bring its massive Defense down as much as possible before continuing with the Leaf Blade strategy. What works, works.

If Artemis goes down unexpectedly, Cú Chulainn will be swapped in and continue with a similar strategy: Swords Dance, Leer as necessary, and Metal Claw for STAB and 2x super-effective damage, while if she goes down, Hercules with go in with a few Leers and a Hammer Arm at the ready.

Badge/Gym Leader: Misty
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here specifically using Stone Free, Weather Report, and Dickhead
Battle Details: LOWERING STATS WORKED SO WELL LAST TIME THAT WE'RE DOING IT AGAIN. Weather Report is primarily there to lower stats to hell and back with growl, sand attack, baby-doll eyes, tail whip, and charm. He's also there for retaliate if, somehow, Misty manages to take the other two pokemon down. Will also have liberal use of sucker punch before fucking back off to Jolyne.

Stone Free is going to be the main hitter of the party what with being grass/bug via liberal use of razor leaf and bug buzz but will also be liberally using sticky web and string shot to slow them way the hell down. And an assholish protect every so often.

Dickhead is there to round out the team with assurance and bite, primarily, against the damn starmie. And also being true to his name and abusing fake out. He does have technician which would help some of the weaker moves.

Team: Over here! (Galvantula [lvl 45], Braviary [lvl 57])
Battle Details:

Being a part electric type, Steve's Galvantula is going up first. She'll be starting out with Thunder Wave to stun her opponents, then using Electroweb and Electro Ball. They'll be using the same strategy each time, but Steve may switch to using Absorb once his Galvantula starts looking worse for the wear.

When she goes down, his Braviary will be taking over. Possibly not the smartest choice given his weakness to ice moves, but here we are.

Character: Carly Nagisa | [personal profile] insidescoop
Badge/Gym Leader: CASCADE BADGE
Elite/Regular: REGULAR TEAM
Team: The Whole Gang is HERE! ...except Zero he stays on the bench.
Battle Details: It occurs to Carly, as she goes to Cerulean to watch Connie go for this badge, that if she doesn't do it now she's going to end up with a team of level 100s again by the time she Can.

She already fears for poor Brock when she finally does reach Pewter. RIP Brock.

In any case, the team is a little over-levelled, but not so much that she's going to feel bad. Baby Boo is the first up of course, because as a Grass type and a bit of a tank to boot, Baby Boo has a heck of an advantage here.

Also they float like one of those weird little boat buoys, if boat buoys looked like the lights from a graveyard everyone warned you about. Boy it Sure Would Suck if the Power Went Out.

For the most part, Boo will be handling things; aside from standard hitting moves like Razor Leaf, they'll be making liberal use of Leech Seed and Confuse Ray as well- and in Lapras' case, possibly a bit of Astonish and Pain Split if the ice gets to them too much.

Ultimately the others are Back Up to the extreme; if Baby Boo falls, it'll be up to Red Buster to pick up the slack using brute force- and if Red Buster falls, Evey the Milcery gets to see if being a blob of white in a pool makes for a visual advantage whilst spamming Dazzling Gleam. And if EVEY falls.

Well. Kyusei probably won't have to do much beyond use slam at that point.

Really, Carly doesn't expect it to come to that- she's pretty sure Boo will be fine.

Character: Shiro | [personal profile] shiro2hero
Badge/Gym Leader: Brock | Boulder Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Link
Battle Details: Shiro comes armed with a Tropius and he knows how to use her. The type advantage playing strong here -- grass versus rock. Her backup is going to be Gengar and Gallade, using their status changing moves to wear down the opposing pokemon until Tropius can sweep them.

Badge/Gym Leader: Misty | Cascade Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Link
Battle Details: Shiro will take a similar type-based approach to this fight, too. Except, this time, he's swapping out the Marowak for his Electrode. Leading with Tropius, the grass and electric type are going to be tag-teaming Misty's water pokemon. If they need backup, Gengar and its hypnosis will come to their aid again.

Look he's figured out type matchups, and even with his pokemon at their max level, it seems like a safe thing to bet on.

Battle Details: Ever make a last minute badge decision and have it work out? That's Carly on the 25th when she meets up with Jolyne. Between an overleveled oblivious quagsire with earthquake and a bunch of electric types- including a floater who isn't immune to ground (though Mud Shot may just be the more advisable route in that case), Surge is...well.

He'll recover. Maybe.

Character: Carly Nagisa | [personal profile] insidescoop
Badge/Gym Leader: Rainbow Badge
Elite/Regular: REGULAR
Team: Tadaaaah- and now for Boo to shine! ...Also maybe Buster
Battle Details: Erika, ultimately, is the one who will be the roughest. With nothing but grass types (and a grass flying), Carly might have a good number of resistances but. Well...not a whole lot on the end of super effectiveness.

Fortunately she Does have strategy (and levels, as ultimately she's still got a team who surpasses the strongest member Erika has by 5 levels). First up, notably, will be Boo; Boo will be first up as often as possible, for one key reason.

Trick-or-Treat. Since it makes the opposing pokemon ghost type, but otherwise leaves Erika with a pile of nonghost moves, not only does it remove the threat of STABs from her, but it means Carly can land supereffective ones. With moves like Shadow Ball, Shadow Sneak, and Phantom Force, it's going to hit the newly made 'ghost' types hard.

Whenever it looks like Boo might be in a pinch though, Carly will pull them back to use some potions while Red Buster the Aegislash takes over. As another ghost, he can certainly leave the hurt- he has Shadow Sneak too, but also the now supereffective Night Slash. But primarily, he's there to hold the defense as needed...

Which probably won't happen since Boo is a supersized Tank.
