Badge Requests



 What does it take? It changes for each gym! Normally, the games increase in difficulty as you progress, but that wouldn't be any fun if characters could just as easily take on the Gyms that are supposed to be for top trainers only. THEREFORE, the gym leaders aren't going to be pushovers like in the games! In order to win a badge, the mods will take into account your current roster and the attacks and advantages to see whether your pokémon is strong enough to win a badge or not.

Each gym leader has a Regular Team of pokemon and an Elite Team of pokemon you can challenge. It's up to a trainer to decide which team to challenge, but if you take on the Elite Team of six level 100 Pokemon, you'll receive double the prize money. The items, however, are not doubled. Excellent for trainers looking for the extra challenge or those looking to make money fast.

The Elite Four is now distributing Keystones and Mega Stones to promising trainers! Any trainer who has defeated all eight gyms of a single region will be granted a Keystone and one Mega Stone of their choice. No player will be able to have more than one Mega Stone at a time, and those looking to switch theirs out may do so once every four months. Mega Stones may be used in any casual trainer battle, but as far as gyms go may only be used in Elite battles.


The Indigo Plateau is now open to challengers! To qualify, trainers must have all sixteen badges from Johto and Kanto. Every Pokémon they face will be level 100, and the Elite Four and the Champion have heaps of talent and experience. As such, we will be reviewing Indigo Plateau challenges with more scrutiny than we bring to badge requests. A higher level of strategy is required to win on this field. Show us what you've got!

The League Certificate qualifying the winner to create and lead their own Pokémon "Gym." This Gym is part not of the Indigo League, but the Aurora League.
Aurora League Gym Leaders may choose their own battle specializations, as well as. design their own unique Gym (which will take one month to build from the time of request) and Badge (which will be available as soon as the Gym opens). They will be compensated for their work as Gym Leaders with a stipend that will cover building costs, labor (the Leader's and any Trainers they may employ), and rewards for victorious challengers.

We ask that Aurora Gym Leaders think carefully about the location of their Gym and the difficulty level they wish to present challengers. We also ask that they create their own Badge Request page like this one so that others can request battles with them.

Please use this form to request a badge or a showdown with the Elite Four! Post your request as a comment to this post. Badges will generally be processed once per week, on either Wednesday or during the weekend. !!! To preserve the spirit of the game, obtaining badges using recently-inherited Pokémon (ie, Pokemon received from dropped characters) that massively outlevel your own is discouraged. General

Minfilia will not be afraid to change Pokemons' held items between battles, and heal them with Berries she's grown. She also will not be shy about having to let them faint if it will help with the battle. She trusts them now, in both senses of the term.

Her Pokemon, however, have been trained to only look to her for guidance if they are truly lost. Instead, she's trained them to use their own judgement. But if she lets out a whistle to them, they will change tactics and listen to her commands, that she gives with short phases. Yes, she has treated this like somebody planning fights in an MMO.

Rose the Audino
Held Item: Audinite OR Leftovers

Minfilias' starter, and the Pokemon who has been learning to speak the common tongue. She wears her Mega Stone proudly, but will only Mega Evolve when commanded to.

She will either use a more physical battle style, or a more special attack-based one, depending on if her opponent has stronger defenses or special defenses.

To Start: If the Pokemon has an ability that messes with set-up and doesn't seem to be setting up itself, it'll get hit by Simple Beam. Otherwise, Entrainment to give them Regenerator. This is fine, however, since if they need to switch? Well, any set up is gone.
Except against Bede, Rose will also use Misty Terrain, to block status. And then, depending on the damage done by her opponent, she'll set up Substitute.

Physical: The main goal is to set up Power-up Punch, to buff attack, before going for the best Physical move for the Pokemon she's facing. If she is low HP, and is behind a substitute, she'll go for Drain Punch. If she is low HP, and doesn't have enough to use Substitute, same.

Special: Unlike Physical, Audino doesn't have set-up moves for special attackers. Instead, she will Mega Evolve, and go on the hyper offense. Going for either Hyper Voice or Dazzling Gleam, if any of her other special attacks won't do more.

Misc: If Rose is status'd in the turn between Misty Terrain dropping and it being set up again, she will use Refresh. However, if she is burned, she will not remove the status - instead using Life Dew if she can keep up with the opponents damage.
If she is facing down a Pokemon with a massive Attack stat, then she will use Simple Beam and then Baby-Doll Eyes.

Alisaie the Meowstic

One of Minfilias' first captures, Alisaie was promised she would get to fight the league, and now here she is.

Alisaie is both a cleric, sort of, alongside Minfilias' main special attacker.

To Start: Whenever Alisaie switches in? Unless it's a Ghost-type?
Fake out. And then, depending on what attacks are being used, Reflect or Light Screen. And then? If her opponent has high Special Defense?

Wonder Room. It flips Defense and Special Defense.

Main Loop: Alisaie has two main goals in the main battle loop. That is: boost and strike. She'll keep up any screens she needs to, while using Calm Mind (against special attackers) or Nasty Plot (against Physical Attackers).

After that, her main attacks are Psychic, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, and Magical Leaf. Depends on the Pokemon she's fighting. However, if she can buff up while the opponent can't take her down?

Stored Power at max Calm Mind/Nasty Plot.

Misc: If Alisaie is switched in and Minfilias' other Pokemon are status'd, Heal Bell.

Moenbryda the Feraligatr
Held Item: Expert Belt
Moves: scratch, leer, water gun, rage, bite, ice fang, thrash, flail, scary face, agility, crunch, chip away, slash, screech, aqua tail, hydro pump, superpower - Water Pledge, Bulldoze, Block, Icy Wind, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Facade, Rock Smash, Return, Liquidation, Spite, Strength, Surf, Whirlpool, Brick Break, mud slap, low kick, scald, ice beam, dig, endure, toxic, protect, aerial ace, headbutt, substitute, avalanche

One of the Pokemon who Minfilia hatched after the Basculegion event, who she named after a dearly departed friend. Moenbryda was strong at home. And now, she's strong here.

Moenbryda is one of two Pokemon who are basically Physical walls. Due to using the Power item, Moenbryda also has more defense then the usual Feraligatr.

To Start: It's a very simple start up. First, Minfilia will see if she needs to break the defense of her opponent, and will get Moenbryda to go for Screech if so. Then, a Scary Face or two. Protect, if her opponent uses a multi-turn move or seems to be using a move like Hyper Beam. And then... Block. Yeah. To see if the opponent tries to switch out to navigate around the big physical wall in front of them.

Main Loop: Again, it depends on the opponent. But the main powerful moves are Bulldoze, Brick Break, Aerial Ace, Avalanche, Crunch and Aqua Tail. Superpower, if Moenbryda is close to fainting or close to victory.

However, Minfilia and Moenbryda will also go for the Scald against physical attackers instead of Screech if it's also super effective, or if Minfilia feels they might switch around.

Misc: If Moenbryda is hit by a status, she will use Facade. She will also go for Spite on Low PP moves, like Cross Chop.

Warburton the Flygon
Held Item: Muscle Band OR Smooth Rock
Moves: sand attack, bite, sonic boom, fissure, dig, feint attack, superpower, astonish, sand tomb, dragon dance, feint, laser focus, mud slap, bide, bulldoze, rock slide, bug buzz, supersonic, earthquake, crunch, dragon breath, earth power, uproar, screech, dragon claw, dragon rush, sandstorm, hyper beam, dragon tail, boomburst - Bug Bite, Gust, Round, Scorching Sands, Bug Buzz, Roost, U-Turn, Dual Wingbeat, Defog, Fly, Strength, outrage, stone edge, thunder punch, fire punch, flamethrower

While Minfilia never spoke on it, and never will, she also saw her father during that event. And she named this Pokemon after him, hoping to make them both proud.

Warburton was also one of Minfilias' first Pokemon used in gym battles, and knows that movement is important - as well as being another mixed attacker, Warburton is Minfilias' counter to weather strategies.

To Start: Holding a Smooth Rock causes Sandstorm to last for 8 turns - and thus, this is why Warburton begins with it, except against fellow Rock/Ground/Steel-types. In the sands, he prepares to strike. First, Sand Tomb. More chip damage! Then using Supersonic until it hits, and then, well.

Main Loop: Laser Focus time! Laser Focus forces crits. And Warburton loves crits. He loves crits on moves like Dual Wingbeat, Earthquake, Earth Power, Flamethrower, and Mud-Slap most of all. As Sandstorm falls, Sand Tomb no longer entombing, and as there's no Laser Focus up, he'll also U-turn! Usually to Moenbryda, but also likely to the second-best Pokemon for the League member.
(Note, however, if the League member switched in a Pokemon who is strong against Warburton, he would either Dragon Tail (if can take a hit) or U-Turn right away.)

If he's the best, though, he'll switch from Laser Focus to just good ol' striking down with those same moves.

However, if Warburton is close to death, he will go for one of the few Big Moves that seem closer to a panic button. You know. Outrage, Hyper Beam, Fissure.

Misc: Defog is a button to get rid of Stealth Rocks and also Evasion boosts.

Rhalgr the Machamp
Held Item: Expert Belt OR Choice Scarf
Moves: strength, karate chop, leer, low kick, counter, bide, encore, wide guard, low sweep, brick break, knock off, foresight, revenge, dual chop, vital throw, focus energy, wake up slap, cross chop, bulk up, seismic toss, superpower, submission, scary face, dynamic punch, double edge - Rock Slide, tackle, rock smash, bullet punch, double hit, mach punch, thunder punch, fire punch, headbutt, fissure, brick break, bulldoze, cross poison, darkest lariat, high horsepower

A Pokemon from the ancient past, Rhalgr is a precious Machamp, that Minfilia feels will use both past and present to bring her form of strength forward.

While Minfilia chose Rhalgr for one scheme she had from when she first realised the interaction between No Guard and Fissure, she also trusts him as another member of the muscle.

To Start: Rhalgr rushes in with Dynamic Punch. Thus, confusing her opponent. That's the most important part of the set up time. After that, it's time for the main loop already. Simple, but effective.

Main Loop: Unless her opponent seems to have a Fairy-type or Psychic-type move, or is a very strong Special Attacker, Rhalgr will go for Bulk Up twice. You know, not going to be too greedy when it comes to the confusion behind Dynamic Punch.

And then? If the Pokemon is no longer Confused, Rhalgr will go for another Dymanic Punch. Otherwise, he'll be going for the good strong moves. You know. Cross Chop, Rock Slide, or an Elemental Punch.

Also, if a Pokemon is setting up more then once... Encore and then Fissure, unless it's flying. Otherwise, Encore and Dynamic Punch. No, no setting up.

Misc: Yeah, Minfilia knows that relying on Fissure is something that might be expected. Thus, if an opponent has a Focus Sash or Focus Band, Knock Off. Also, Foresight against ghosts.

Tigers' Eye
Held Item: Eviolite
Moves: Moves: flame charge, tackle, smokescreen, rapid spin, smack down, rock polish, ancient power, incinerate, stealth rock, heat crash, rock blast, stone edge, burn up - Dig, Heavy Slam, Heat Wave, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Spikes, bulldoze, scald, flamethrower, high horsepower

You see, the thing is, Minfilia loves this pile of coal. And she also feels that nobody will see her using a NFE Pokemon. And if you need a suicide lead who can also wall a little...

Well. Tiger's Eye is ready as well.

To Start: Stealth Rocks. Yeah.
But a little more then that: Tiger's Eye will first set up Stealth Rocks, and then Minfilia will assess if they should go to the main loop, or greed for some Spikes. (And if her opponent is super effective against fire-types? Quick Burn Up before the main loop, as well.)
Main Loop: Tiger's Eye is an annoyer. Smokescreen if an opponent has no way to get past it. Scald if it's a physical attacker. Bulldoze if they're a little too fast. All ways to help other Pokemon out.
But let's say Tiger's Eye is the last one standing. Hopefully, it's against weakened Pokemon. Then he'll go for Rock Blast.
Misc: Tiger's Eye is also a pivot. If Minfilias' team is weakened, and she needs a free switch, Tiger's Eye is there. (If there is a turn free, then set up begins. Otherwise... well! The Pokemon is ready to get knocked out and cuddle up near Minfilia sleepily.


Bede
Team Order: Rhalgr, Alisaie, Moenbryda, Rose, Warburton

Extra Notes: Choice Scarf Fissure. Minfilia knows it won't work more then once... so she's leading with it. Thus, Rhalgr will show the power he's been holding back this entire time.

The extra notes here are for if that plans fails/if the Pokemon need clean up.

Mawile: If not for Fissure, Minfilia is going to trust in using Warburton and Earth Power (due to it being a little stronger against Mawile), or Tigers' Eye and Flamethrower.
Sylveon: Her back-up plan for Sylveon is Audino (not mega evolved) and Iron tail. (After a Retaliate, of course.)
Galarian Rapidash: Even though it's a Galarian Rapidash, Minfilia still would send out Moenbryda to go Physical. Aqua Tail and all.
Primarina: Alisaie, with the Wonder Room Thunderbolt strat.
Tinkaton: Tinkaton is one of those Pokemon Minfilia doesn't know much about. But since I can assume she figures out it's a Fairy/Steel-type quickly, she'll use similar non-cheese strats against it. However, going for the physical side. ie: Warburton and Earthquake, and Tigers' Eye and Scald/Burn Up.
Hatterene: Ah, his Ace. Minfilia actually has a fun strat, if the Hatterene has Magic Bounce.
Basically, she'll give her Audino Simple, use a Power-up Punch, and then Mega Evolve so that Rose no longer has Simple. Then Iron Tail.

But if that's not the case, and Rhalgr has been taken out, then it's just the regular loop. It's the same with her other Pokemon.

Team Order: Tiger's Eye, Alisaie, Warburton, Moenbryda, Rose, Rhalgr

Extra Notes:
As assumed by the Carkol lead, Minfilia is going full suicide lead against Skuntank. Well, slightly different. Stealth Rocks, and Bulldoze. As soon as it looks like two more hits will knock out Tigers' Eye? Ka-boom. If Skuntank is not fainted by that point, Alisaie will clean up with Fake Out and Shadow Ball.
After the Fake Out loop on Venomoth, Alisaie'll be going for one Calm Mind, before going for the Psychic loop.
If she gets hit by Toxic or other status moves... you know, Heal Bell.
If the Alisaie loop fails and she's fainted, then Warburton is switching in, for Earthquake. Defog to get rid of any Spikes or Toxic Spikes. Thunder Punch for Crobat.
Moenbryda, meanwhile, if she's in will be going for pure Earthquake or Rock Slide.
Audino will go for Substitute and Return in her loop.
Rhalgr will be Choice Scarf'd, to go for Rock Slide (if Crobat is still around as well) or DynamicPunch (if it's not.)

Minfilia is aware that Bruno is mostly physical-based strength. Thus, Warburton is her lead. While she knows Hitmontop might have Fake Out, the first move is to go for Sandstorm, and then a Dragon Dance, and Laser Focus. A bit of set up...

And then, Dual Wingbeat. She's using the multi-attack move so she can crit fish. (Also, against Lucario, Flamethrower instead.)
Alisaie, meanwhile, will not use Reflect against opponents, wary of Brick Break. Instead, she'll be going for raw Psychic, or if it seems she'll survive one-two blows, Calm Mind and then Psychic, the classic Psychic look. She will also be holding the Leftovers instead of Wild Rose.
Tiger's Eye is set up for Bulldoze spam, to either force Bruno to switch or to be ready for others.
Wild Rose, Audino, will Mega Evolve right away. Her duty is Simple Beam - especially against Machamp - before Misty Terrain and the Special Loop.
Rhalgr will go for a sneaky Choice Scarf Fissure. Again, this is only because Minfilia wishes to show the strength of the strategy, if showing Bede isn't enough. Especially since she is certain Bruno might carry the same.
Moenbryda might only be the last in the order, but she's not the last resort some might think she is. She'll be there for Aerial Ace and Avalance, with a bit of Aqua Tail. Just her regular loop!

Karen
Team Order: Tiger's Eye, Rhalgr, Rose, Moenbryda, Warburton, Alisaie

Extra Notes:
Minfilia is aware of Karen being a status-based fighter, and thus, is ready. A quick set up of Stealth Rocks on Weavile, and then Explosion. Because she knows Weavile is fast, and Weavile is also a threat.
Rhalgr is set up to win here, however. Instead of Fissure, which has been her main strat with the guy, she's given him the Expert Belt. Tying it so it looks like the Choice Scarf, under blue fabric.
Mach Punch will be the main move Rhalgr uses against Weavile, Absol, and Umbreon. But against others? Minfilia will reveal the truth. Rock Slide on Houndoom and Honchkrow, Foresight and Dynamic Punch on Spiritomb. Even if he's burned, Rhalgr will fight on.
Wild Rose is going to go Misty Terrain and Mega Evolved. For every opponent except for Spiritomb, she'll be going for the physical loop. Meanwhile, Spiritomb gets the Special Loop, with Dazzling Gleam.
Moenbryda now has the Choice Scarf, and what will she use it for? Aqua Tail.
Warburton with Muscle Band will be on the Sand Tomb path, without Sandstorm (unless Houndoom uses Sunny Day). And then, will be going for Earthquake on all but Honchkrow, who gets Stone Edge.
Alisaie knows she's fighting a losing battle if she's out, but she'll be going for the Fake Out - Screens - Wonder Room. And then Nasty Plot - Disarming Voice. Mostly to counter any evasion.

Lance
Team Order: Tiger's Eye, Moenbryda, Rose, Rhalgr, Warburton, Alisaie

The final battle.
Minfilia has given Tigers' Eye her Focus Sash, so she can get Stealth Rocks up. She is aware that there is a faint coming next turn, and doesn't fight it. No, she lets Tigers' Eye faint early-on. (If he survives by a miracle, she uses Explosion.)
But Moenbryda. Oh, beautiful Moenbryda. She's using Block right away, before a single Avalance. Taught for this purpose. Well, not a single Avalance. Two of them.
Moenbryda will be focusing on using Avalance and Liquidation. Except... when Gyarados comes out? Hard switch out, to Rhalgr. Opposite typing, so she knows that Lance will likely not predict it. (Especially since it seemed that Moenbryda could counter with Screech and Return.) When Moenbryda comes in the second time, she will be using a single Agility after trapping her opponent in. You know. For Fun. Unless Trick Room is up.
Rhalgr is Choice Scarf again, even if it's not for Fissure. No, he's there as a revenge killer, most of the time. Thunder Punch on Gyarados, Ice Punch on Salamence, Garchomp, Altaria, and Dragonite, and Rock Slide on Charizard. (If Lance switches in Charizard after Gyarados, it'll get a face full of Thunder Punch as well.)
Wild Rose is set up as a defensive choice this time! Switching in and Mega Evolving right away, Wild Rose is there to, in no paticular order:
- If Lance uses Outrage, to stop the rampage.
- Be a pivot who can set up Trick Room, if Lance boosts Speed too much.
- Retaliate if a non-Tigers' Eye Pokemon faints.
- Use Entrainment to remove abilities if they become hard to avoid.
- If she's forced to not be a pivot and fight, she'll Substitute and then go between Dazzling Gleam or Hyper Voice, and Life Dew and Refresh. You know, to stall.
Warburton is excited. Dragon vs Dragon. The sand will be set up, the Smooth Rock pretty, but no Supersonic. No, just Laser Focus and either Stone Edge or Outrage. Yeah, Minfilia is using the same move she's countered with Wild Rose. Also, Dragon Tail to force out heavily boosted enemies.
Alisaie, too, is defensive but not as annoying as Wild Rose. Her regular Fake Out - Screens - Nasty Plot - Psychic/Thunderbolt loop. It might be a little simple, but sometimes simple is best, especially after some of these plans.
