What does it take? It changes for each gym! Normally, the games increase in difficulty as you progress, but that wouldn't be any fun if characters could just as easily take on the Gyms that are supposed to be for top trainers only. THEREFORE, the gym leaders aren't going to be pushovers like in the games! In order to win a badge, the mods will take into account your current roster and the attacks and advantages to see whether your pokémon is strong enough to win a badge or not.

Each gym leader has a Regular Team of pokemon and an Elite Team of pokemon you can challenge. It's up to a trainer to decide which team to challenge, but if you take on the Elite Team of six level 100 Pokemon, you'll receive double the prize money. The items, however, are not doubled. Excellent for trainers looking for the extra challenge or those looking to make money fast.

The Elite Four is now distributing Keystones and Mega Stones to promising trainers! Any trainer who has defeated all eight gyms of a single region will be granted a Keystone and one Mega Stone of their choice. No player will be able to have more than one Mega Stone at a time, and those looking to switch theirs out may do so once every four months. Mega Stones may be used in any casual trainer battle, but as far as gyms go may only be used in Elite battles.

The Indigo Plateau is now open to challengers! To qualify, trainers must have all sixteen badges from Johto and Kanto. Every Pokémon they face will be level 100, and the Elite Four and the Champion have heaps of talent and experience. As such, we will be reviewing Indigo Plateau challenges with more scrutiny than we bring to badge requests. A higher level of strategy is required to win on this field. Show us what you've got!

They will be compensated for their work as Gym Leaders with a stipend that will cover building costs, labor (the Leader's and any Trainers they may employ), and rewards for victorious challengers. We ask that Aurora Gym Leaders think carefully about the location of their Gym and the difficulty level they wish to present challengers. We also ask that they create their own Badge Request page like this one so that others can request battles with them. To officially request an Aurora League Gym, fill out the provided template and comment here.

Please use this form to request a badge or a showdown with the Elite Four! Post your request as a comment to this post. Badges will generally be processed once per week, on either Wednesday or during the weekend. Please try not to PM or IM mods about badges (including elite challenges) unless your request has gone unanswered for more than a week.

!!! To preserve the spirit of the game, obtaining badges using recently-inherited Pokémon (ie, Pokemon received from dropped characters) that massively outlevel your own is discouraged. If this happens, you may be asked by the badge mod to revise your team. Inherited Pokemon that your character has had for a while and are the same level as the rest of your character's team are fine to use!

!!! Remember that you must fight all four members of the Elite Four and Champion Lance in a row. You may heal your Pokémon between battles and take a short break, but you cannot leave without ending your challenge.

Battle Details: Bo-Katan will be hobbling into Sabrina's gym today with a limp, a wrapped hand, but not wearing her armor. She just has her flight suit on and her helmet because she's still sensitive to light and headachey because of her concussion and wearing the helmet helps. She's clearly not well but she's stubborn! She actually has to lean on her Dragonite to walk and stand. The Dragonite will stay with her and watch and thus she only has 5 Pokemon that will participate in the battle. She's challenging Sabrina sooner than she expect, but she was the closest gym to where Bo is staying, so here she is. She will insist she's fine if asked.

Espeon
Bo-Katan starts with her Pawniard, Kal. She will continue to use him as long as she possibly through the entire battle. He's got some very nice type advantages after all. Unless Sabrine has some TMs on her Pokemon that will throw him for a loop, he will probably be able to withstand whatever they throw at him. Or at least that's the thought. Bo-Katan will have him use Iron Defense and then primarily use Night Slash on Sabrina's psychic pokemon. He will also be holding a Persim berry to ward off confusion. If for some reason he is defeated, Bo-Katan will replace him with her Lampent, Nau'ul. She will have her use Confuse Ray to confuse her opponent and then follow up with Shadow Ball.

Mr. Mime
If Kal defeated the Espeon then he will keep going with the Mr. Mime with the same strategy. If the Mime defeats Kal then at this point he will be replaced by Nau'ul and use the same strategy also.

Alakazam
Again if Kal makes it this far, Bo-Katan will keep using him with the same strategy. However, if he's defeated, Bo-Katan won't replace him with Lampent. Or if the Lampent defeats the Mime she will wait for her to get defeated before sending out her next Pokemon. What will come is Balutar her Cyclizar who will use Shed Tail. With the substitute in place and the Cyclizar retreating, Bo-Katan will then send out her Marowak, Taakur. She's been saving the Marowake for the Alakazam for a reason, which soon becomes clear when Bo orders her to use Fling. Taakur is holding an Iron Ball and chucks the thing at the Alakazam's face! Poor Alakazam. That's gotta hurt. Should he survive that attack, Bo will have her use moves such as Earthquake to hopefully finish it off.

Any hiccups in Bo-Katan's plan will hopefully be covered by her extra Pokemon such as her Blastoise, Paz. She would have him use Rain Dance, Hydro Pump, and Bite. Also, Balutar can come in at any point to use Bite to hopefully finish off any opponents.

After the battle, win or lose, Bo-Katan will also ask if she can help her communicate with her Dragonite. Can she read his mind or something??? To figure out his angst. Finding out her Dragonite's backstory would be most helpful.

Badge denied. While Sabrina is impressed Bo-Katan even made it through the warp puzzles with a concussion and a limp, her current performance is simply not up to snuff for a high level gym. Bo will be sent on her way (with very stubborn and repetitive NPC dialogue, not even acknowledging Bo's questions) and encouraged to come back and try again when she is feeling better.

(While her team is incomplete and underleveled, Bo will need to show a little less repetitive strategy between Sabrina's Pokémon to beat her. Even Bo's Dark type isn't immune to all their moves!)
