Badge Requests

What does it take? It changes for each gym! Normally, the games increase in difficulty as you progress, but that wouldn't be any fun if characters could just as easily take on the Gyms that are supposed to be for top trainers only. THEREFORE, the gym leaders aren't going to be pushovers like in the games! In order to win a badge, the mods will take into account your current roster and the attacks and advantages to see whether your pokémon is strong enough to win a badge or not.
Each gym leader has a Regular Team of pokemon and an Elite Team of pokemon you can challenge. It's up to a trainer to decide which team to challenge, but if you take on the Elite Team of six level 100 Pokemon, you'll receive double the prize money. The items, however, are not doubled. Excellent for trainers looking for the extra challenge or those looking to make money fast.
!!! Badges must be mod approved. To earn a badge, please comment on this post. Please don't ask for more than two badges to be approved at once!

We ask that Aurora Gym Leaders think carefully about the location of their Gym and the difficulty level they wish to present challengers. We also ask that they create their own Badge Request page like this one so that others can request battles with them. To officially request an Aurora League Gym, fill out the provided template and comment here. |
Please use this form to request a badge or a showdown with the Elite Four! Post your request as a comment to this post. Badges will generally be processed once per week, on either Wednesday or during the weekend. Please try not to PM or IM mods about badges (including elite challenges) unless your request has gone unanswered for more than a week.
!!! Please request badges as your character is actually in the general area of the gym!
!!! To preserve the spirit of the game, obtaining badges using recently-inherited Pokémon (ie, Pokemon received from dropped characters) that massively outlevel your own is discouraged. If this happens, you may be asked by the badge mod to revise your team. Inherited Pokemon that your character has had for a while and are the same level as the rest of your character's team are fine to use!
!!! Remember that you must fight all four members of the Elite Four and Champion Lance in a row. You may heal your Pokémon between battles and take a short break, but you cannot leave without ending your challenge.
Destiny Match of Electric Trainer vs Rock Gym Leader
Badge/Gym Leader: Brock!
Elite/Regular: ELITE TEAM
Team: Pikachu (Alola Raichu), Rapidash, Ampharos, Mimikyu, Magneton, Alola Golem
Battle Details: Please let me know if I have to revise the battle details to a less narrative one, it just sort of happened. She's literally got an audience for this.
Yayoi faces off against Brock, declaring a six on six match at the Elite Level with him. She summons her first Pokemon, Pikachu the Alolan Raichu to the field. There’s a moment of awkward silence from him as he questions why she’s using Electrics and she replies there’s no other Pokemon she has.
He nods, and summons Rhyperior. The match is called. The first move is Yayoi’s. She commands [Grass Knot] which will bind Rhyperior’s legs, and Pikachu uses its speed from it’s Pikachu years to get in close. There, it will deliver [Double Slap] repeatedly until Rhyperior falls from all sides, finishing up with a literal [Psychic] downwards slam into the battlefield. It’s a literal mismatch as Rhyperior tries to counter but the speed difference, plus the [Grass Knot] keeping it bound limits its ability to counter, and the lack of electric moves from the Raichu caused Brock to underestimate her. Not anymore. At the last breath, Brock commands [Stealth Rock] to seed the ground.
The second match, will be against Rampardos. Yayoi recalls Pikachu and summons deathkyu the Mimikyu who starts out the fight with [Shadow Claw.]. The pair will trade blows as deathkyu takes blows, using [Shadow Sneak] to get behind him and use [Play Rough] in order to inflict damage and chip away at his opponents HP. [Wood Hammer] inflicts considerable damage but in the end, deathkyu falls. Yayoi recalls him to the side and summons Rapidash. Rapidash opens up with [Flare Blitz], carving a huge chunk of HP away from him and continues the fight with [Agility]. [Flame Charge] does considerable damage to the weakened Ramparados and before Brock can potion, [Flare Blitz] takes him out.
In the lull, Yayoi has the moment to Revive deathkyu but simply comforts it as it holds her hand before Brock asks why she doesn’t revive it. She replies they gave 110% and it would be a disservice to make him fight again, while her family will fight alongside him. So no potions. Brock smirks, and puts his away and tells her to continue this Hot Blooded Battle.
The battle continues. Omastar comes out, and it’s immediately blasted by a [Zap Cannon] from Magneton who then [Charge]s mid [Zap Cannon] for extra umph. Yayoi’s kid gloves are off. Brock’s blood is surging as he summons Onix. Onix rampages through Magneton and knocks it down to half HP before the next attack, but Yayoi counters with [Flash Cannon] while using [Magnet Rise] to dodge. It becomes a war of attrition before Onix forces Yayoi to Switch by grounding Magneton via [Smack Down] but not before [Stealth Rock] weakens it.
Down 2 Pokemon to Brock’s 3, Onix is her main obstacle as Yayoi brings out Stronger, Alola Golem. Stronger goes toe to toe with Onix, trading punches as Onix blasts through with [Dig] and [Slam]. Golem manages to get the momentum and [Rollout] slams into Onix and sends Onix into the wall as a luckily timed [Magnet Rise] launching him up the Onix like a cannonball gaining momentum to come down like a meteor for a [Earthquake] right atop Onix. That should finish the job but severely damages Golem’s HP in the process from that move.
With Onix down, its down to Kabutops which Yayoi pulls back the exhausted Stronger who is also damaged by [Stealth Rock], and brings out Magneton once more and winds up for a [Charge/Zap Cannon] combo but this time Brock is ready for her, and slams into her before the combo is completed, knocking down Magneton. Yayoi recalls him and pulls out Cotton Candy, the Ampharos and sends it out. [Thunderbolt] and [Thunder Punch] are exchanged with physical blows and a lucky [Brick Break] finishes it off.
Finally, Golem comes out and off comes Brock’s shirt, indicating he’s 110% serious. Yayoi returns the tired Ampharos and brings out Pikachu again. Pikachu uses [Psychic] and it weakens him, a bit, while [Grass Knot] works a bit more. She can’t seem to land a good [Double Kick] and is felled. Rapidash is instantly KOed by a neatly placed [Rock Slide]. Stronger comes out and the pair grapple together, trading blows before Stronger collapses. Brock and Yayoi are literally heaving at this point. The crowd is tense. They’re down to their last Pokemon and both are in critical mode.
Cotton Candy comes out and Brock starts his attack with [Hyper Beam]. Yayoi crosses her arms -- And Mega Evolves. Mega Ampharos hits the field, Brock tries to prevent the Evolution and attack but is too late as [Dragon Pulse] slams into Golem, and it’s game.
Yayoi wins on at narrow 5-6 as they shake hands.
Somewhere Yayoi lost her shirt in the process. No one seems to mind this at all.
