Badge Requests

What does it take? It changes for each gym! Normally, the games increase in difficulty as you progress, but that wouldn't be any fun if characters could just as easily take on the Gyms that are supposed to be for top trainers only. THEREFORE, the gym leaders aren't going to be pushovers like in the games! In order to win a badge, the mods will take into account your current roster and the attacks and advantages to see whether your pokémon is strong enough to win a badge or not.
Each gym leader has a Regular Team of pokemon and an Elite Team of pokemon you can challenge. It's up to a trainer to decide which team to challenge, but if you take on the Elite Team of six level 100 Pokemon, you'll receive double the prize money. The items, however, are not doubled. Excellent for trainers looking for the extra challenge or those looking to make money fast.
!!! Badges must be mod approved. To earn a badge, please comment on this post. Please don't ask for more than two badges to be approved at once!

We ask that Aurora Gym Leaders think carefully about the location of their Gym and the difficulty level they wish to present challengers. We also ask that they create their own Badge Request page like this one so that others can request battles with them. To officially request an Aurora League Gym, fill out the provided template and comment here. |
Please use this form to request a badge or a showdown with the Elite Four! Post your request as a comment to this post. Badges will generally be processed once per week, on either Wednesday or during the weekend. Please try not to PM or IM mods about badges (including elite challenges) unless your request has gone unanswered for more than a week.
!!! Please request badges as your character is actually in the general area of the gym!
!!! To preserve the spirit of the game, obtaining badges using recently-inherited Pokémon (ie, Pokemon received from dropped characters) that massively outlevel your own is discouraged. If this happens, you may be asked by the badge mod to revise your team. Inherited Pokemon that your character has had for a while and are the same level as the rest of your character's team are fine to use!
!!! Remember that you must fight all four members of the Elite Four and Champion Lance in a row. You may heal your Pokémon between battles and take a short break, but you cannot leave without ending your challenge.

Badge/Gym Leader: Storm Badge/Chuck
Elite/Regular: Regular Team
Team: Lute | Lvl 77, Arlert | Lvl 77, Libera | Lvl 55, Jaeger (Litleo) | Lvl 43, Aphrodite | Lvl 64.
Battle Details: The unfortunate truth walking in is the speed and attack priority will not be on Arlert's side, even with her starting off in the battle. The first hit she takes will bring her down low, unless Hitmonlee is asked to do status type moves first. Assuming Hitmonlee goes on the offensive with a physical attack, regardless of using Zen Headbutt (with Twisted Spoon's bit of help) or Moonblast, to capitalise on Hitmonlee's weaknesses to Psychic and Fairy, both pokemon will be left standing with low health. With the differences in attack priority, Arlert is likely to be taken out before executing a second move.
Caveat: if Hitmonlee is using High Jump Kick and misses, then half their HP will be taken away from recoil. At that point, Arlert's first hit with any of her moves (Air Slash for STAB and Hitmonlee's weakness, or any of her Pyschic moves, or Moonblast) will wipe Hitmonlee out, leaving her intact to face Hitmonchan. At that point, she's likely to also take out Hitmonchan, and face off with Polywrath, but for the sake of sharing experience, Annie will pull Arlert out and put Libera in to fight the Polywrath should this happen.
Should Arlert be taken out in the first fight, however, then Lute will switch in, as he has Psychic-type moves to utilize, despite his weakness to Fighting type moves. Lute is likely to make his move first against Hitmonlee, who even if healed, will be dealing with Psycho Cut coming from Lute.
Lute will still be on the field when Hitmonchan is brought in. Hitmonchan has moves which can hit first and will hit Lute hard, making him take damage before he retailiates with a repeat of Psycho Cut. Psycho Cut at his level and with the weakness Hitmonchan has is likely to take her out of the fight.
Polywrath and Lute will then be on field facing each other. Lute is likely to attack faster with priority, once again with Psycho Cut, because he'll likely go first and take out Polywrath before being taken out himself.
If he does get knocked out, Libera will switch in to use Grass-type moves against Ploywrath to great effect. Should be one hit and Polywrath is out, since even while Libera does not have Lute's level difference with Polywrath, unlike Lute, she has STAB with her Grass-type moves, making them even more effective against Polywrath, who's already weak to them.
Annie will walk away from this battle considering what kinds of Ghost-types she should bring to her team, looking forward to the time where she'll be facing against Chuck's elite team in the future.
Character: Annie Leonhart |
Badge/Gym Leader: Thunder Badge/Lt. Surge
Elite/Regular: Regular Team
Team: Lute | Lvl 80, Arlert | Lvl 80, Libera | Lvl 58, Jaeger (Litleo) | Lvl 46, Aphrodite | Lvl 67.
Battle Details: Annie will be coming to this fight with items/berries to handle Paralysis, as it's the largest concern dealing with these pokemon. Given Magneton's capabilities, she'll also bring items/berries to handle Freezing and Burning.
Libera is the only pokemon on her team with Ground-type attacks, so she'll be taking point to start. Facing Electabuzz, she'll use Earthquake in order to set the scene. Electabuzz may use a Lightning attack, but it seems unlikely, with Libera's resistance to Electric-type moves. With a successful use of Earthquake, Electabuzz will be taken out of the field.
With Magneton, Annie will switch in Jaeger, because he needs the experience and, frankly, to be taken down a peg. If he manages to absorb the first attack (which if geared for Libera, may be Tri Attack) without getting a status effect inflicted, he'll use his strongest Fire-type attack, Flamethrower. A successful hit will take Magneton out of the field, and Jaeger will then be switched out with Libera for the final fight.
If Jaeger is instead afflicted with a status effect, Annie will either use an item/berry to heal that effect, or if Jaeger's throwing a fit, leave it on him until he's taken out. If he's been afflicted with Paralyze, he may still be able to move, in which case she'll instruct him to use Flamethrower for STAB and weakness to Fire-type moves on Magneton's behalf. If he cannot move, she'll take him back after the next hit knocks him out, and send out Libera again.
The start of the battle with Raichu is quite likely to include Fake Out, if using base moves alone. Libera will end up flinching, so her first attack will be thwarted, and she'll absorb Raichu's first hit. She'll likely have to take Raichu's second attack as well, though as Libera is resistant to Electric attacks, the effect will be lower than expected. Annie will be asking Libera to use Earthquake to good effect, so that when it hits Raichu, Raichu will be knocked out, and the battle will end.
Jaeger will be healed post battle, or revived and healed if he was knocked out, and will try to chatter at Lt. Surge's pokemon after if he can. He'll be insistent on having his own Electric-type attack... which if Annie capitulates, will come from the Vermilion City Pokemon Center.
