We ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!
The comment character limit on Dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.
While players are welcome to play multiple characters (five characters maximum are allowed per player!), please only apply for one character at a time, and wait for a decision before submitting another application!
A reminder for those waiting to hear back: Please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!
Please use the form below to apply! If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the mods.

Taken / Reserves Please do not app a character from either of these unless you reserved them!

Character Name: Leonardo da Vinci Series: Assassin's Creed Timeline: After Sequence 11, 1488 Canon Resource Links:the one and only
Personality: At the root of all the crazy bullshit level genius to follow, Leonardo is curious. Boundlessly so. If there’s a mystery to uncover or a puzzle to solve, he’ll be there, probably not with bells on, but definitely eager and ready to go. Not only does he figure out how fix a hidden blade just by studying the schematic, but with no additional prompting, he throws in another one on the house. His reaction to not knowing how something works is to try it out and see what happens, which is how Ezio ended up with an experimental gun strapped onto his wrist and loose instructions to test it out on some dummies. He’s driven by a deep desire to understand…basically everything, which is how he’s become so famous for, well, understanding basically everything. There’s no puzzle so small that he doesn’t want to dig his hands into it. Sometimes very literally.
He’s excited about all of it, too. If he’s made a discovery, or figured out a translation, or has a new design in the works, chances are high that he can’t keep it to himself for very long. He damn near literally lights up when he thinks he’s invented a working flying machine. When Ezio tests it out, he’s so happy that it works, even a little, that it takes a moment to sink in that the flying machine doesn’t have enough lift to carry out the plan the Assassins are using it for. This excitable quality makes him fairly easy to read, at least emotionally. If he’s worried or upset, he’ll show it just as readily as if he were happy, as the thousands of people who’ve restarted their games due to missing the ‘press x to hug him’ prompt can attest.
Getting one of his inventions past the prototype stage is an exercise in frustration, and the less said about the string of unfinished commissions left in his wake, the better. Leonardo’s never met a deadline that didn’t woosh as it went by, whether because a project took longer than expected or through straight up procrastination. It also seems that he gets hung up on the details at times. The same attention to detail that lets him note the color of the atmosphere or the function of the eye also means that he gets stuck when he can’t work a problem all the way out. When he can’t figure out how to provide enough lift for the flying machine, he goes so far as throwing some of his notes into the fireplace. Another probable cause of his inability to finish things is his seemingly short attention span. He’ll leave scientific studies for days or weeks at a time while he focuses on something else. Reading his notes is incredibly difficult not because he encrypted them, but because he hops from topic to topic as it interests him. He’ll get back around to his subjects of interest sooner or later, but in the mean time, his patrons are often left hanging.
About that sense of humor of his. Calling it trolling might, in fact, be something of an understatement. He’s fond of pranks, ranging from the utterly harmless to the scarily dangerous, and the part when, not very many hours into the game, he acts as if he’s about to cut Ezio’s finger off, is considered character establishing for a reason. Beyond that, his comments trend towards dark and morbid when it comes to quips. Ranging from suggesting that the best place to find poison is by visiting a doctor to telling Ezio to put a dead body with ‘the others’, it soon becomes apparent that Leonardo says these things knowing full-well what he’s implying, and does it anyway for kicks.
Good thing he’s kind, then, or he probably wouldn’t keep getting work. For all that Leonardo’s a genius, and god, is he ever, it’s his generosity that really helps set him apart. This is a man rumored to buy songbirds from the market solely to free them, after all, and his game behavior seems to back it up. He’s quick to offer a helping hand in whatever way he can, whether by inventing something or simply pointing someone in the right direction. He may be a little stingy with his florins at times, sure, but when it really counts, his kindness knows no bounds. Seeing some Venetian guards hassle a merchant visibly worries him, and he translates every single codex page in the game for free. His concern for others extends to the point that he’s not willing to kill anyone at all, claiming that the one thing he isn’t is a man of violence.
Oh, yeah, and sometimes he paints, too.
