We ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!
The comment character limit on Dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.
While players are welcome to play multiple characters (five characters maximum are allowed per player!), please only apply for one character at a time, and wait for a decision before submitting another application!
A reminder for those waiting to hear back: Please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!
Please use the form below to apply! If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the mods.

Player Name: Athuria Preferred Contact:monochromic Timezone: PST Current Characters in Victory Road: N/A
Character Name: Yuya Sakaki Series: Yugioh Arc V Timeline: Post-series Canon Resource Links:Here
Personality: Yuya, defined in one word, is an entertainer. He's cheerful, friendly, energetic, and wants little more in life than to make people (especially those closest to him) smile. He used to wear it as a mask to protect himself from others, but as he's come to believe in himself he's been able to wear his feelings openly, with empathy, to truly bring the happiness he's always wanted to.
Yuya can go through the whole gamut of feelings in about five minutes. It's hard to say he's usually happy, or sad, or angry, because he responds so strongly on an emotional level to what's around him and his experiences. He's guided by his heart, which can make him impulsive and careless by not thinking things through at first. He often wears his feelings openly, whether it's weeping or laughing, and usually states his feelings candidly if he doesn't need to reign himself in for his company. He knows that they fester when he locks them in, so with open expression he's able to work through those negative emotions and come out more stable. Happier. Less prone to sudden ugly outbursts of anger or depression.
Yuya is the epitome of love, not war. He's sympathetic to everyone, never hesitating to support someone in need. His friends and family mean everything to him. He's easily moved by his own feelings of love, and feels it strongly, and he extends a hand to make a connection even when in conflict with someone because he wants to find peace and understanding with others. He's learned to focus this feeling into proper empathy, so he can understand other people's viewpoints and feelings to be a better friend. He has an open mind and open heart, and he's willing to give almost everybody a chance (or two). He believes in the best of people, their ability to change for the better, and appreciates people from all walks of life. No matter what someone's done, if they want to change then he believes in giving them a second chance--he's in no place to judge someone's past, after all.
Sometimes this trait can make him too passive, as he's willing to let poor behavior slide if they're trying, or hurt, especially if it's someone he'll call a friend. Although he'll give a lot of chances to other people, Yuya holds himself to a higher responsibility and expectation. If even a little bit of the blame can be reasonably attributed to him, he'll take it all, to the point it's almost a guilt complex. He learns from it, but when he's hardest on himself he slips into self-depreciation and insecurity due to his inability to reach his ideal or his perceived failure to others. While he's much better at bouncing back from that than he used to be, he's really his own worst enemy and it take strength to stop himself from tearing himself down until he gives up.
Although he's a truly empathetic person, in terms of his pursuits what Yuya wants himself is a natural factor in all of it. He wants his friends happy, he wants to be successful, wants to be liked, wants to be good, wants, wants, wants. It takes conscious effort to put himself outside his feelings, lest he project them onto everyone else and have expectations that they suit his beliefs. Those that are closest to him come before strangers, and while he'll sacrifice anything for them, including himself, it's underlined by the fact that he'll refuse to sacrifice them in turn even for greater good.
When Yuya has something he's set his mind to, he goes for it. He's a hard worker and dedicated as long as it's something he cares about (if it's math, he don't know her). And once he's set his mind to something, that's where he finds an almost stubborn courage to see it through, solve the problem, or save the girl. When he's confident this focus is what encourages him to try again, and again, and again, no matter how many times it takes until he succeeds. When his confidence is broken, then he leans on the faith of his friends to find the strength to continue on. If they believe in him, and he believes in them, then he can find a way to believe in himself, too.
