Starter Pokémon! A compiled list of the starter Pokémon to choose from offered in Victory Road!
[ The first thing one sees when the feed turns on is a young girl with blonde hair, slumped against a tree with a frustrated expression on her face. The camera's focus is a little unshaky as the girl fiddles around with it, panning from the sky to the trees behind her and overall everywhere else besides her face. Beside her sits a pink, heart-shaped creature, regarding her owner with a rather confused look and exasperated look. ]
Ugh, is this thing working...?! Dammit, how do I know if it's-- [ It's then she realizes that the camera is on and recording and has been for the past few minutes. ] ...Oh. [ She laughs sheepishly, trying to save face. The exasperation on Luvdisc's face just deepens. Minako addresses the camera with an indignant huff. ]
Y'know, I'd totally be a lot more okay with this kidnapping situation if my kidnappers were hot guys! I mean, not to tweet my own horn or anything, [ ...The word she was looking for was "toot." Regardless, she smugly flicks her hair over her shoulder. ] but who could really blame them for wanting to steal this pretty face for themselves? [ She winks coquettishly before her expression falls into one of disappointment. ] But being kidnapped by some weird lady calling herself my mom and then having her kick me out of the house? Aaahhh, totally the worst! [ A mumble: ] At least she's a lot nicer about it than Mama is...
[ Minako gives an exaggerated sigh, pulling her knees to her chest. She readjusts the camera, so now everyone is blessed with a close-up of her face. ] And I don't even know anything about this 'journey' I'm supposed to go on. Geez, you'd think that someone who dragged you here'd at least tell you what it is you're supposed to be doing, right? Ugh, all this confusion is making me hungry! [ She rummages through her backpack, pulls out the bento lunch, and casually starts munching away right then and there. What's worse is that she continues to talk even with her mouth full. ] Ah, that's better!
So! Can anybody fill me in? [ She doesn't feel like reading the Trainer's Handbook or her Breeding Guide to figure everything out for herself, so she'd much rather have somebody else explain it all to her. ] First off, where am I? [ A beat. ] ...And before anyone gets clever and says "New Bark Town," yeah, I know, but where is it? I'm pretty sure this isn't Japan...maybe.
Second, does anybody know what this creature is? [ She angles the camera towards the Luvdisc, who perks up slightly when she hears herself being mentioned. ] She's been following me around this whole time. At least I think she's a she... And she hasn't tried to attack me or anything, so I'm assuming she's friendly. [ As if to confirm Minako's assumption, Luvdisc nudges her nose against her owner's arm, as if saying "Of course I'm friendly!" This prompts the girl to laugh and pet the Pokémon on its snout affectionately. ] Okay, no doubt about it - definitely friendly! Huh, she's kinda cute, too.
Lastly, I'm looking for my friends, so if you've seen them, please let me know, okay? Or if they just so happen to be listening to this right now, then just check in. [ She gives a bright smile, but if one looks closely, a trace of concern can be found. ] Their names are Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Makoto Kino, and Rei Hino. I'll even give you a description of them so you can spot them easier!
Usagi-chan has blonde hair that she wears in two buns, and she's a bit of an airhead. [ Like she can talk. ] But she's a really sweet girl, and if you break her heart, I'll never forgive you! [ While her tone is teasing, she's partially genuine - even in this place, wherever it was, protecting Usagi was her first and foremost duty. ] She can most likely be found eating, reading manga, or playing video games!
Ami-chan has short, blue hair and is most likely studying right now. She gets super serious when it comes down to studying and can be totally scary! [ Except that's just because Minako shirks their group sessions. ] I'm pretty sure her studying sessions could be used as a means of torture. [ Which probably isn't something she should be saying publicly with the possibility of Ami being here, but... ]
Mako-chan has brown hair that she wears in a ponytail, and she's like the big sister everyone wishes they had. [ Honestly, none of these descriptions are probably helping at all. ] She loves cooking, and she makes the most delicious food in the world! You have to try her cooking some time!
And then there's Rei-chan. [ Minako puts a hand to her chin and rubs, humming in thought. ] Rei-chan, Rei-chan, Rei-chan...how do I possibly begin to describe Rei-chan? She has long, black hair, and she's too serious all the time and can be really stubborn, and she's suuuuuper annoying! [ There's a clear fondness for the girl in her words despite what she's saying. ] Also, don't let her appearance fool you, but she does a lot of unladylike things like farting! She'll try and tell you that she doesn't, but it's coming from me, so it's totally true! [ She has to try and resist the urge to laugh. Rei is one of her closest friends...which is the exact reason why she pokes so much fun at her.
And then she snaps her fingers in realization. ] Oh! I almost forgot, the most important thing...! I'm sure you're all wondering who this beautiful girl speaking to you is, right? Well, wonder no longer! [ She pulls the camera back so there's a clear view of her upper body, dusts off the hand she had been eating with for any crumbs, and strikes a v-sign with a grin. ] The name of this lovely maiden is Minako Aino! She's sixteen years old, and the world was graced with her presence on October 22nd, making her a Libra! And, if you were wondering, she does accept birthday presents, early birthday presents, or just presents in general.
[ She gives another wink, as if that's some kind of incentive to buy her things. ]
She's also single, so any hotties out there should drop her a message! Don't be shy! It's not nice to keep a lady waiting, y'know!
[ ...She just completely derailed the point of this video. ]
Oh, and as for everyone else, thanks for the help!
Third Person Sample:
How nice it was to finally be able to live in days of peace.
This wasn't the first time that Minako thought that. Every time they defeated a major enemy, she always thought that for once they would be able to live idyllicly and actually enjoy the lives that were given to them, to be able to put aside their duties as soldiers for a little while, but those thoughts were always dispelled whenever a new enemy appeared. However, with the defeat of Chaos, they would at least have enough time to enjoy their days while it regenerated. She knew that calmness would one day come to an end upon Chaos' return and that they would have to reassume their responsibilities as soldiers, but Minako was grateful that, even for a little while, she could sleep at ease.
She felt something nudge her shoulder, and she stirred slightly, lazily waving a dismissive hand. "Noooo...five more minutes, Artemis," she whined sleepily, rolling to face the opposite direction. She was just about to drift back off to sleep when there was yet another nudge at her shoulder. "...I said five more minutes," she huffed, burrowing her head underneath the pillow, as if it would make her cat guardian leave her alone; this, however, wasn't the case, and there was one more nudge at her shoulder.
"Ugh! Artemis, you're starting to piss me off...!" Growling, Minako grabbed the pillow and sat up, having half a mind to fling it at the white tomcat in all of her frustration. She was just about to give in to her whims and do it, too, when she realized that the person who had been trying to wake her was indeed not Artemis. Nor was it her mother. Her mother certainly would not have awakened her in such a polite way.
Instead, it was some woman whom Minako had never seen before in her life. She stared at the stranger, who only regarded Minako with a bemused smile. "Huh...?" Minako shook her head and rubbed at her eyes as if she was only seeing things; however, she was met with the same sight, the only difference being that the woman was now looking more concerned than she was confused. "Okay, this has got to be a dream...if I pinch myself, I'm sure to wake up!" Reassured by her own 'solution,' Minako pinched her forearm as tightly as she could, hissing at the pain.
Again, she saw the unfamiliar woman, except this time instead of staring dumbfoundedly at Minako, she was forcing her out of bed. Even when forcing her out of bed, she was still a lot nicer than her mother. Regardless of how kind she was, it didn't change the fact that Minako was now in some unknown house with no recollection as to how she had gotten there whatsoever. She broke away from the woman's hold, already slipping into her serious mode. "Who are you, and where am I...?! Are you an enemy?!"
No, there was no time to waste standing around and asking questions. This was serious. She had no idea who this woman was, what she wanted with her, or where she was trying to force her to go, but she couldn't just stand around and wait for the enemy to get the upper hand on her. She extended her arm into the air and shouted, "Venus Crystal Power, Make Up!" She expected to be transformed as Sailor Venus but yet found herself completely unchanged. She tried it once more but came across the same result - she was still in her regular form.
Dammit! Why can't I transform...?! she thought to herself, gritting her teeth. Did I lose my powers again? At this rate, the enemy will...!
Powers or not, she still wasn't going down without a fight. She couldn't sense Usagi or the others anywhere, so this was entirely up to her. As troublesome as this situation was, she had to believe in herself. She braced herself as the woman approached her, ready to lunge at any possible attack. Instead, she was faced with an amused chuckle. "Now, dear, you know that today's the big day! There's no time to dawdle," the woman said, spinning Minako around by the shoulders and guiding her down the stairs.
Out of all of the things Minako expected to happen next, that was definitely not it. "...Uh, what?"
The woman ignored Minako's bewilderment, and they finally reached downstairs. The next thing Minako knew, the woman was presenting her with a backpack and a cheery smile. "Good luck on your journey today, honey!" she said, ushering Minako out of the house. The door shut behind her, and Minako spun around to pound on it and demand more answers, only to find all the lights were completely off. She took a step back, staring up at the house with the utmost confusion.
"...But she was just in there a second ago," Minako muttered, tilting her head. She's faced plenty of weird things in her time, but this just about surpassed all of them on the weirdness scale. She shook her head and turned around. "Aaah, whatever! Probably better not to think about it. Now, let's see what's in this backpack..."
She rummaged through it, her fingers brushing against something spherical. She pulled it out and examined it quizzically - a red-and-white ball that appeared to be a capsule. She doubted that anything could be stranger than what she had just experienced it, so she pressed the button in its center. There was a hiss and a pop! as the two halves separated, and something resembling a creature seemed to materialize. Standing before her was a pink creature shaped like a heart. The creature stared at her, and Minako stared back. For quite some time, they stared at each other until the creature chirped happily.
