We ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!
The comment character limit on Dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.
While players are welcome to play multiple characters (five characters maximum are allowed per player!), please only apply for one character at a time, and wait for a decision before submitting another application!
A reminder for those waiting to hear back: Please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!
Please use the form below to apply! If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the mods.

Starter Pokémon! A compiled list of the starter Pokémon to choose from offered in Victory Road!

Character Name: Cassandra the Dust-Eater (she tends to leave off the epithet whenever possible, because she hates it) Series: Claymore Timeline: Post-series Canon Resource Links:Cassandra's wiki entry [note: series-ending spoilers, NSFW, body horror], General information about Claymores
Personality: [This is adapted from her old Synodiporia app. Cassandra is being apped in her Claymore state.]
Warriors of the Organization - Claymores - tend to be fairly insular, and in this Cassandra is no exception. While they were at least ostensibly created in order to protect humans from the predations of yoma and Awakened Beings, humans tend tend to hate and fear them. This is largely because Claymores themselves are half-yoma, and if they tap too far into that yoma half, they risk "Awakening" - a biological process that turns them into a monstrous, cannibalistic version of themselves called an Awakened Being, which also gives them a taste for human innards and a permanent personality change. Cassandra has it a bit worse than other warriors in that she is an object of fear from her own comrades as well. Part of this is due to her rank. All active warriors are given a number ranking between 1 and 47, based on their strength and power levels, and this in turn heavily affects their social interactions: a warrior with a high rank will be treated with awe bordering on nigh-worship, while poor Number 47 tends to get no respect at all. Cassandra, as a Number One, was practically considered a goddess by most of the lower-ranking warriors, who thought her to be aloof and mysterious; she always fought alone, invariably returned from her missions without a scratch on her, and her technique was a complete mystery to everyone.
In actuality, Cassandra is painfully shy and awkward, despite being the strongest warrior of her generation and one of the eight strongest ever to exist. She is fairly easily embarrassed, and tends to blush at even the mildest praise. Much of her self-consciousness stems from the personal fighting technique she uses in battle. Dust-Eater is a technique she created whole-cloth on the spur of the moment to save the lives of some of her fellow warriors. Unfortunately for Cassandra, those she'd saved were repulsed by the technique and avoided her thereafter. Perhaps understandably, Cassandra vowed never to use the technique in front of other warriors again, and undertook only solo missions from then on. Her shame over her technique, coupled with her shyness, kept her from approaching anyone, leaving her dangerously isolated.
When she does make friends, she tends to become very attached to them, something that has backfired badly on her in the past. As a result, she tends not to expect kindness from other people and is almost always surprised to be on the receiving end of any. She also seems to be much less concerned with rank than other warriors. At one point she was befriended by a much weaker warrior whom Cassandra had saved after a failed hunt had killed the rest of the Number 35's hunting party; when the grateful Number 35 continued to seek her out after this, Cassandra wasn't bothered at all by the differences in their respective ranks; she was just confused that the other warrior seems to like her. Cassandra is deeply loyal to those she cares about and has very strong senses of justice and fairness; when her Number 35 was eventually killed (something arranged by the former friend who'd originally betrayed Cassandra, no less), Cassandra had two goals: slaughter the Awakened Being who'd actually done the deed, and hunt down and expose that former friend, the aptly named Roxanne of Love and Hate. Unfortunately, Roxanne was not only able to convince the Organization that Cassandra had turned on them but to goad Cassandra into losing control and attacking, with the other warriors in the vicinity essentially acting as living shields for her. Notably, even in her rage Cassandra's focus stayed almost solely on Roxanne; while she did attack the other warriors when they got in her way, she didn't bother to defend herself from their attacks, feeling it was only fair that they be allowed to retaliate in turn. This cost her dearly; she was horrifically maimed, then struck down by Roxanne and left to die. She was heavily traumatized by her death; remembering it after her reanimation caused her to lose control entirely and Awaken into an Abyssal One (read: a much worse type of Awakened Being), which ironically solved her self-confidence issues but turned her into a cannibalistic horror in the process. Fortunately for almost everyone involved, she spent the entire rest of the battle laser-focused on killing Roxanne, whom she hates above all else.
She does not like using the Dust-Eater, and will ordinarily do her level best to avoid doing so. This can get her into trouble; when she was resurrected, she found herself struggling against three of the most highly ranked Claymores of the current generation. (When she did give in and use it, she decimated all three of them almost immediately.) Most of the reactions she's gotten from people who've seen it have been overwhelmingly negative, with two exceptions: her one true friend, who didn't seem to care about it, and another character near the end of the series, who actually praised the effectiveness of the technique. This last affected her deeply; it was quite possibly the first time anyone had had any positive comments on it, and she was visibly moved by it. While she doesn't seem to care that much about rank compared to other warriors, she still has at least some pride in her own; challenged to a one-on-one fight by an unfamiliar Number One after she'd been consumed and assimilated by a much stronger entity, she actually physically tears herself free from that entity to answer the challenge.
Strengths: Loyal, caring, courageous (it takes a lot of courage to fight Awakened Beings solo, no matter how strong you are), fair, strong sense of justice Weaknesses: Self-conscious, tends to isolate herself, doesn't trust easily, can be easily provoked given the right circumstances, self-confidence issues
Pokémon Information Affiliation: Trainer Starter: Type: Null or Absol (Justification: Mostly that they have a lot in common. Cassandra is also essentially a lab creation, and a chimeric entity, with her own original body augmented by flesh from a yoma and then additionally from a particularly powerful Awakened Being whose discarded arm was still brimming with enough energy to reanimate three people; she knows what it feels like to exist only to fight monsters. She has also lost control of her own powers and gone on a rampage... twice. Which is probably just as good a justification against.) Password: Atomic Fireball
