RULES

1) Be Respectful
Treat each other as you would like to be treated. If you have an issue with another player’s behavior, please make a good faith effort to resolve it with them directly. Alternatively, it is fine to (politely) opt out of interacting with a player or character for any reason.

If players are unable to resolve an issue themselves, opt outs or boundaries are not being respected, or someone is breaking a rule, please take it to the mods! We are available through Plurk, private messaging, or (the most preferred option!) using the mod contact page.

2) IC =/= OOC
Please do not bring in-character drama into your out-of-character interactions, or vice versa. You are, as always, allowed to choose who you roleplay with, but keep it respectful and do not judge others based on their characters. In addition, keep in mind that comments and remarks about your character are not necessarily aimed at you, the player.

3) Be Active.
Activity checks will be due on the 1st of the following month unless otherwise stated (for example, December is usually a “freebie” month). To see the current Activity Check requirements, and to submit, please see the Activity Check page here.

4) No Godmodding / No Metagaming
You play your characters only. This means you cannot automatically have another character do something without that player's permission. Nor can your character do something to another person's character without the player's permission.

This also goes for information; just because you know it OOCly does not mean your character will. Character knowledge is limited to what they know in canon or find out in game.

Because it is so widespread in popular culture, it is fine for characters to be aware of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow and the first 150 Pokemon. For other canons, fourth-walling is ONLY permitted with permission of the player. This means you can't have Wolverine running around going "Pokémon look just like Digimon! I watched that on TV!" unless all the Digimon players agree to it.

5) Age Limit
For the comfort and safety of everyone in game, the minimum age for Victory Road players is eighteen (18) years of age. We're trusting players to be honest and also to abide by the DW ToS (which has its own minimum age), so we don’t ask this in applications!

6) Mature Content
Mature content is not banned, but we do require it be warned for.

In the case of material unsuitable for minors, not only must it be clearly marked as such, it also cannot be posted in any of the VR communities - i.e, it must be taken to a post on your character’s journal or elsewhere.

7) Character Limit
The character limit is currently five (5) characters per player. You are only allowed to reserve and apply for one character at a time; please wait to submit an application for another character until your previous application is processed.

8) Drama and Wank is a No-No!
As mods, we’re not interested in broadly policing players’ activity on platforms outside of VR. However, if we are brought evidence or witness someone trying to bully/wank another player out of the game, or cause trouble for the game in general, that does concern us. This will be grounds for disciplinary action, potentially up to and including being asked to leave the game permanently.

On a related note, don’t assume that mods have seen something and are ignoring it! As a general mod policy, we don’t keep an eye on “unofficial” channels such as anonymous communities or Discords; in fact, we aren’t even reading every single comment in the game! As in the first rule, if there’s a problem, please explicitly report it.

Because our responsibility is primarily to the game and our current players, we reserve the right to decline an applicant on the grounds of prior inappropriate conduct or the demonstrated potential to create a toxic environment in Victory Road. This is a rule we hope to use sparingly, if ever, and only in the interest of maintaining a positive and comfortable atmosphere for our players in-game.

10) HAVE FUN!
This one's most important, because it's the key to roleplaying everywhere. Thanks for reading the rules!
