Paldea Map + Availability

General Information

Like back home in Johto and Kanto, routes can be traversed in many different ways!

One ground day is equivalent to about 2 or 3 hours in flight, but it must be remembered that most pokemon cannot fly for more than six hours in a row without needing a rest. Riding a pokemon can cut up to 1/3rd of your travel time! Though this does depend a bit on how comfortable your pokemon is with the terrain. A sure-footed pokemon like a Gogoat will traverse a mountain path much more easily than a lumbering Tauros. Finally, if you have a bike, skates or a skateboard, it can cut up to 1/6th of your travel time!

Additionally, any cities or areas marked with a '' have warp pads available that are immediately accessible to all characters! Unlike in Johto and Kanto, you don't first need to visit a city to be able to warp there. Now you can immediately head to Medali if you want.

Different colours have been used to mark different areas of the map.
Tan is used to mark Cities.
Light Blue is used to mark travel areas.
Teal is used to mark areas of special interest.
Blue is used to mark the seas.

Anyone who is serious about cooking looks to Cortondo to find the best ingredients there are. The best restaurants in Medali proudly proclaim their Cortondo sourced ingredients.

Alfornada is a town known first and foremost for its focus on wellness and beauty. The town is home to so many different spas and wellness centers that you could visit a different one every day of the month, and still never run out of new places to try. And if you are looking for the best in hair or skin care, you simply have to visit the many specialty boutiques.

But Alfornada is not just focused on physical beauty. It’s also a town that focuses on the wellness of spirit. Western Province

West Area One

A river winds through this area, but the most notable feature is the tail mountain at the westernmost point. Going up said mountain will prove difficult, as rocks and even boulders are constantly falling from its peak. Not coincidentally, the mountain is also a popular nesting spot for Bombirdier.

Pokemon Availability: Bombirdier, Starly, Litleo, Nymble, Murkrow, Lowkix*, Zorua**, Sableye**, Paldean Tauros (Combat Breed)**, Pyroar***, Paldean Tauros (Aqua Breed)****

Connects to: ← West Paldean Sea; ↑ Asado Desert; ↑ Cascarrafa; ↗ West Area Three; ↘ South Area Two; ↓ South Area Six;

Asado Desert

A large desert that should only be traversed by the truly prepared. Occasionally ancient ruins of older civilizations can be found poking out from beneath the sand, but they are just as swiftly covered up again by the frequent sandstorms.

Pokemon Availability: Panphy, Numel, Bramblin, Cacnea, Hippopotas, Silicobra, Rufflet, Growlithe*, Rellor*, Hippowdown*, Donphan**, Camerupt**, Paldean Tauros (Blaze Breed)**, Cacturne**, Larvesta**, Arcanine***, Brambleghast***, Sanaconda***, Volcarona****, Braviary****, Rabsca******

Connects to: ↑ West Area Two; → Cascarrafa; ↓ West Area One;

Cascarrafa

Cascarrafa is known as the City of Water. Despite being on the edge of the Asado desert, this multi-level city sports a truly amazing amount of channels, aqueducts, fountains and decorative ponds. Or, perhaps it is because of their proximity to the desert that has made the people of Cascarrafa appreciate and admire water so much.

However, it is not just water that finds admiration in Cascarrafa. The town is home to most of the biggest museums in Paldea. Whether you are interested in Art (classical or modern), Natural History or technology, you'll find a museum for you here. And alongside those museums are countless of antiquities markets and shops. If you have something special to sell, Cascarrafa is the place for you.

Connects to: ← Asado Desert; ↓ West Area One;

West Area two

A strip of grasslands that the most common breed of Paldea’s native Tauros calls home. As such, passing through is bound to be eventful; not only are the Tauros ready to fight, but the other Pokemon in the area are ones who come from nearby to test their own battle skills.

Pokemon Availability: Paldean Tauros (Combat Breed), Rellor, Gimmighoul*, Bronzor*, Stonjourner**, Paldean Tauros (Blaze Breed)***, Tinkatink****

Connects to: ← West Paldean Sea; ↑ Casseroya Lake; → Colonnade Hollow; ↓ Asado Desert;

Colonnade Hollow

A large rock formation with odd column-like structures. Many strange stories are told about its origin. Some claim it was created by glaciers in a long ago past. Some claim it is a burrow created by Groudon himself when he needed a rest. Yet others claim it is actually a sort of hangar for UFOs. Listen, we didn't say the stories were all equally believable!

Pokemon Availability: Rockruff, Spoink, Skiddo, Noibat, Gastly☾, Meditite*, Tynamo*, Grumpig**, Gogoat**, Elgyem***, Larvitar****, Gible*****

Connects to: ← West Area Two; → West Area Three;

Casseroya Lake

This wide lake, dotted with small islands, always smells just a bit like old fish… And yet it seems to draw in more dragon-types than water-types. Even more interesting is that among all these dragons, it’s the Dondozo - always carrying Tatsugiri in their mouths - that seem to have sway over everyone. If you go out on the lake to investigate, just look out for Veluza. They’ll beeline right to you, slowing down your travel!

Socarract Trail

Above the northern side of Casseroya Lake is a muddy path, where grass grows sparsely but the fungus is plentiful. The pine trees everywhere offer plenty of shade in this area where the sun would otherwise be almost unbearably warm and bright.

West Area Three

Due to all the restaurants in Medali, the city at the heart of this area, you can smell mouth-watering aromas here, even at a distance from the city. As you travel this grassy terrain, you’ll find yourself going down small and gradual inclines and other minor dips towards the center, where the space around Medali is so flat that it’s almost boringly plain.

☆ Medali

Medali has two claims of fame within the Paldean region, though one is far more exciting than the other. Firstly, it’s the Paperwork Capital of Paldea. Medali is where the big administrative offices of many big Paldean companies are located. Even the Paldean Pokemon League has its offices in this town. Because of this, it’s sometimes called the city of salarymen.

Medali’s second claim to fame, far more interesting, is its thriving restaurant scene. Whether you are looking for expensive five star restaurants or small hole in the wall places; whether you are looking for Kalosian, Kantonian or Galarian cuisine, all can be found here in Medali. The best cooks flock to Medali and its is truly a paradise for those that really appreciate food in all its forms.

Eastern Province

East Area One

There are a range of terrains here, from stretches of dry dirt with just a few spots of plantlife to lush grassy fields where many kinds of trees grow tall and strong. The hill at the easternmost point here offers a magnificent view of the ocean, which the river along the northern edge of the land feeds into.

Pokemon Availability: Rookidee, Pawmi, Shroodle, Yungoos, Fomantis, Bounsweet☼, Pawmo*, Stunky*, Gumshoos**, Charcadet**, Paldean Tauros (Aqua Breed)**, Skuntank***

Artazon

Known locally as the Sunflora City, Artazon is best known for both its flowers and its art. Over the years, botanists and artists both have flocked to the town, leading to streets that are dotted with a wide variety of art galleries and just as many flower shops. If you are looking for something to brighten up either your home or your garden, you simply must visit Artazon.

The town mascot is the Sunflora, and you’ll be able to find this pokemon everywhere here, both in person as well as portrayed frequently in their art. Due to the special place Sunflora hold in the hearts of the people here, any person caught mistreating or bullying a Sunflora will be swiftly dealt with!

Pokemon Availability: Sunkern, Bonsly, Sunflora, Smeargle, Smoliv*, Shroodle*, Steenee☼**, Sudowoodo**, Tropius**, Lurantis**, Dolliv***, Flapple****, Stonjourner****, Bounsweet☼, Tsareena☼***, Lilligant☼***

East Area Two

The ocean cuts into the land in several spots here, leaving large bodies of water that can be crossed either with the aid of a pokemon or by going through Levincia. On either side of the water, apple trees grow by the dozens, and certain speedy pokemon love to use these as naturally-occuring obstacles in races against one another.

Pokemon Availability: Deerling, Rookidee, Starly, Applin, Grimer, Shuppet☾, Greavard☾, Toedscool*, Vroom*, Corvisquire**, Cyclizar***

Connects to: Levincia; ↑ East Area Three; ↘ East Area One; → East Paldean Sea;

Levincia

With its large harbour, Levincia has become the center of business and commerce in Paldea. Levincia is to Paldea what Goldenrod City is to Johto and Celadon City is to Kanto – large department stores dominate the city selling all the latest in technology.

In addition to commerce, Levincia has also become the center for Entertainment in the Paldean region. Whether you are looking to spend your time in one of the many state of the art Arcades or are looking to hit the clubs and the dance floor, Levincia is the place to be.

Pokemon Availability: Pawmi, Pichu, Wattrel, Tynamo, Pikachu*, Wingull*, Toxel*, Eelektrik*, Buizel**, Shinx**, Raichu***, Toxtricity***, Rotom***, Ampharos****

Connects to: East Area Two;East Paldean Sea;

East Area Three

A multi-layered expanse of earth, with very sparse plant-life growing. It was once a highly active mining spot, but these days it's more a home for Pokemon. The mines in this area no longer see much use, but the tunnels are kept open always, for the rare times mining still occurs. Varoom and Revaroom love speeding through these tunnels, so stay on your toes!

Pokemon Availability: Nacli, Rockruff, Deerling, Rufflet, Varoom, Orthworm, Salandit*, Dunsparce*, Pineco☨*, Hawlucha**, Sawsbuck**, Revaroom***, Salazzle*****

Tagtree Thicket

A heavily forested region within Paldea's Eastern Province. The Thicket's name derives from the many Grafaiai that make the forest their home. Their habit of tagging the trees to establish their territory gives the forest an unusual look. Do be careful not to get lost following the markings on the trees. The Grafaiai territories are hotly contested and what might be the mark of one Grafaiai today, might be that of another tomorrow.

Northern Province

North Area One

The land here is rugged, and if you’re not careful there will be plenty of stumbles on the uneven ground. According to Paldean folklore, this treacherous terrain is the result of the curse that destroyed the castle of the old monarchy in Paldea. And after taking note of all the ruins in this area, along with the many watchtowers along the lakes tucked out of the way, you just might think there’s something to that.

Pokemon Availability: Gimmighoul, Tinkatink, Poltchageist, Sinistea, Greavard☾, Tinkatuff*, Houndstone☾**, Klefki**, Misdreavus☾***, Dragonite*****

Bamboo Forest

Bamboo grows tall in the almost clay-like soil here, including all along the edges, creating a sort of border. The Pokemon here love to fight, and there’s a clear division between those who prefer strategy and those who prefer brute strength. Members of these groups often clash at the ponds they all use as watering holes.

Pokemon Availability: Shroomish, Mankey, Croagunk, Foongus, Hawlucha, Passimian, Pawniard, Sudowoodo*, Breloom*, Scyther*, Primeape**, Falinks**, Bisharp**, Lucario***, Scizor***, Oranguru****, Kingambit*****

Many waterfalls start at the high grounds here, rushing down to the Bamboo Forest below. Yet away from the waterfalls, the land is mostly dry and barren, with plenty of cliffs and steep hills.

Glaseado Mountain

Freezing cold temperatures, frequent snowfall that makes it hard to see, patches of ice, and snow that likes to give way beneath your feet… It all makes Glaseado Mountain a risky place to explore. And those aren’t the only dangers this mountain has to offer. With the likes of Froslass and Cyrogonal about, you’ll want to be mindful of how easy it is to get lost, since those Pokemon are said to prey on travels who lose their way in the snow.

Pokemon Availability: Magnemite, Sneasel, Snover, Delibird, Cubchoo, Snorunt, Cyrogonal, Primape*, Gogoat*, Abomasnow*, Glalie*, Crabrawler**, Drifblim**, Magneton**, Zorua**, Beartic**, Cetoddle**, Frigibax**, Crabominable***, Magnezone***, Weavile***, Arctibax***, Annihilape****, Froslass****, Baxcalibur*****, Shuppet☾, Greavard☾*, Spiritomb☾*****

Montenevera

Located on Glaseado Mountain, one might mistake this Northern town for being cold and withdrawn, but nothing is further from the truth. While Montenevera is covered in snow for much of the year and attracts many winter sport enthusiasts, what the city is most known for is its thriving music scene.

Montenevera is a town of both big and small podiums, setting the stage for both artists new to the music scene and big household names. And if you are lucky, you might even be able to attend one of Gym Leader Ryme’s own concerts.

Glaseado Mountain Peak

After a long climb to the peak of Glaseado Mountain, you'll come across two startling sights -- first of all, the incredible view from the mountain peak, which allows one to see clear across all of Paldea on a bright day; the second, incredible view is a Gym. While all of Paldea's other gyms are located in easy to reach, the gym of Grusha the Ice Pokemon trainer is located here. Many find him the most difficult gym leader to beat, not necessarily because his skills in battle (though those are also great!) but just because of how hard it is to get to his gym.

If you are not here for the incredible view or the gym, there is plenty of wintersport to be done. On this ever snowy mountain peak, people ski and snowboard all year round.

Glaseado Grasp

A large rock formation sits here that looks like a grasping hand, thus explaining the name. Beyond that, very little of interest is to be found here. It's the inhospitable and far-flung nature of this rather unique looking rock that has made it so famous with many hikers every year coming to the place and taking pictures just so they can say they did it.

Pokemon Availability: Sneasel, Snorunt, Galarian Darumaka, Misdreavus☾*, Glalie**, Crabominable**, Weavile***

North Area Three

This the farthest north spot in Paldea, as well as one of the closest places to sea level. As a result, it’s far warmer here than the nearby mountain. A river runs through, spreading wide at one point. Around that spot where the water pools is where you will find some of the most beautiful flowers in Paldea growing plentifully.

Connecting Glaseado Mountain and most of Paldea, the plants that grow here are the hardy kind who aren’t bothered by being so close to cold. And for the most part, nothing grows here at all, as the more plains-like spots soon give way to craggy and rocky land. Pokemon here are generally hardy, themselves, or otherwise looking to prove that they can be.

Seas

Southern Paldean Sea

The ocean to the south of Paldea is peaceful. Waves run through, even and steady, before rolling up gently onto land. These waters are also pleasantly warm, and overall these waters feel like part of a tropical paradise. Swimmers, snorkelers, and marine biologists alike flock to these beautiful and clear waters. As a result, it’s loud, and so those enthusiastic about fishing often turn their noses up at the southern sea as a spot to cast their lines.

Ψ fishing: Luvdisc, Finneon, Alolamola*, Lumineon*, Bruxish**

Connects to: South Area Four; South Area Six; Secluded Beach

Western Paldean Sea

Even in the clearest weather, the western sea is always rough, with fast and unpredictable waves. These waves get very big, too, and not only has this drawn in fun-seeking Mantine, it also makes this a favorite spot of Shellder. It’s not the kind of ocean Slowpoke enjoy, so Shellder can easily avoid those seeking to lure them in to bite their tails. The fact that even Cloyster have been seen in this area has made it a popular spot for scuba divers seeking treasure.

Ψ fishing: Luvdisc, Shellder, Bruxish*, Chinchou*, Cloyster***

Eastern Paldean Sea

Though it’s nearly as warm here as in the southern sea, there is none of that peacefulness present. The Pokemon have an odd social structure. It seems the Maraenie, Qwilfish, and Skrelp that live here have quite the attitude. They run the roost, bullying other water-types and the many Killowattrel that come by to teach their Wattrel young how to fish. When the people of Paldea speak of this situation, they all mention some mysterious heroes who keep things from getting out of hand.

Northern Paldean Sea

One might not expect these waters to be as cold as they are, considering the overall warmth in Paldea. Maybe it’s the proximity to Glaseado Mountain that makes the northern sea so extremely cold, or maybe it’s the high number of Eiscue that have drifted this way over the years and made this ocean their home. There is even a common local belief that the presence of Eiscue froze some of the seawater, that then came to life as the ancestor of all Bergmite and Avalugg in Paldea.
