Unlike the region of Kanto, where young kids are just given an electric rat, a handful of pokeballs and get sent out into the wilderness, Paldea takes a different approach to learning. A revolutionary new idea called... school.

And while you are here, you are also given the opportunity to participate in some school assignments and enjoy learning in a slightly more structured manner. Or you can just be in it for the rewards.

On this page, you can find all the current open School Assignments which your character can accept. There will also be a small FAQ to answer a few questions. Oh, and new assignments will become available as time progresses so make sure to check back from time to time.

Oh yes, school! Paldea finds education to be very important and wants your characters to experience it while they are here. No matter how young or old your characters are, we can always learn more.

Are these Assignments mandatory?

You are not an actual student of the Academy, so no, the assignments are not mandatory. The Academy really would like you to participate, but if you'd rather not, there is no way they can make you do the work.

Except maybe by offering you some cool rewards.

How can I prove I've completed an assignment/obtain my reward?

This will differ for each assignment. For many of them, claiming your reward is just hand waved. So you can say whether your character has completed that assignment or not. For some more intense assignments, or ones that come with really good rewards, there might be a requirement to meet (such as linking us to a thread or submitting a small write-up).

Each assignment will say exactly what needs to be done to claim the reward, so make sure to read through them carefully!

Where can I redeem my Assignments?

We have a thread over here where you can post to redeem a certain assignment. Just let us know what assignment your character was working on and meet the requirement and we'll let you know if it has been accepted.

Can characters work together on Assignments?

In some cases, characters will have to do some group work to complete an assignment. This will be noted in the assignment itself! For all other assignments -- they are individual assignments, so your character has to meet all the requirements on their own, however, there is nothing stopping you from teaming up with another character with the same assignment and working on it together.

Can each assignment only be done once?

Some assignments can be done multiple times by the same character. In this case, the assignment will note they are repeatable. There will also be some assignments that can only be done once. For example, visiting all the cities in Paldea is a one time deal! You cannot show up every day and say you've gone to each city.

Additionally, assignments can be done by multiple characters. Just because Character A has visited every Paldean City, doesn't mean Character B can't do the same assignment. For the most part, these assignments are not first come, first serve! There will be a few that can only be done once, but this will be noted on the assignment in question (and none of those are available just yet)

Some members of the battle club have been calling the geography club members nerds who can't battle, and now it's time to show them that brains and brawn can coexist. How better than some training in the Bamboo Forest, where Pokemon are just as likely to fight with their minds as their fists?

Requirements: Link a thread or short write-up including a pokemon battle in the Bamboo Forest, or link to roster info for a Pokemon caught there.

There are many stories about Colonnade Hollow. Some say none are true, but one very adamant Geography Club member insists only one is! The story he believes? Aliens. Go do some research into this!

It's said that the coins Gimmighoul are interested in have a connection to the last-ever king of Paldea. Collect two dozen to bring in for inspection!

Requirements: Link to a log set in South Area Five, West Area Two, or North Area One where characters encounter a Gimmighoul, or write a brief scene for your character doing so alone.

Local miners are concerned after hearing talk of running machinery in East Area Three's inactive mining tunnels. They suspect someone's trying to jump their claim, but the Photography Club suspects the sounds are just playful Varoom and Revaroom. They want plenty of evidence that it's only fun and games before it comes down to a fight!

Please note that these assignments are only for rockets! The admin in charge of the 'club' knows which characters are rocks and which aren't, and will only hand the rewards to true Rockets.

✥ Love loses!

Use the cover of the Saint George celebrations to steal money, items and pokemon. People who are busy drowning in each others eyes are great targets!

Requirements: Regular reward can be handwaved; for a big reward link to a log related to this assignment.
Regular reward: a small boost in rocket status + allowed to keep 10% of what you stole
Big reward: a large boost in rocket status + a repeatable TM.

The library at the Academy holds many rare and ancient books which are not publicly available. Those books might hold knowledge that could be of great value to Team Rocket ^*

^* Please note that there security measures in place, both in the form of a librarian, their pokemon and physical barriers (locks). A successful heist will require good planning!

There are many legends about a mythical creature living in Lake Casseroya named Cassie. Get a picture of her to prove she exists.

✥ Calm the hounds

Something seems to have upset the Hounstone in North Area One. While normally gentle, in their agitated state, they might cause injuries to travellers. Please go to North Area One at Night and calm down the Houndstone.^*

^* While searching for the Houndstone, characters may come across large tracks that cannot be identified as belonging to any of the local pokemon. Could this be what is upsetting the Houndstone?

Unfortunately more and more trash can be found in the seas around Paldea. Please head to the secluded beach and pick up any trash you might find. You may also find pokemon tangled up in fishing lines or nets. Please cut them free!

✥ Nursed back to health!

An unusual number of injured pokemon are being spotted in the Tagtree Thicket. Please take a potion pack and go and heal the injured pokemon. Any pokemon that are too injured can be caught and brought back to the ranger club (you'll be compensated for your pokemon). Information on what may have been injuring the pokemon is much appreciated!

^* While in the Tagtree Thicket, you may spot a high number of fallen trees and broken branches.

Note that these Titan Assignments will be first come first serve. If you've got a group together, comment to the specific assignment to let us know you are taking it on, and then comment up above to claim your reward once you've met the requirements.

Note that we are not assigning a specific level to these titan pokemon, as the goal is to team up and take down a mighty foe, and we feel everybody should be able to get involved in that.

The Journalism club is interested in hearing about your experiences while here in Paldea. How did the trip treat you? Was there anything that surprised you? Something that you feel your own region could use? Write it up, and let them know!

Requirements: Have your character write up their opinion on the Paldea trip or a facet of it. Can be as long or as short as you want it to be.
