Starter Pokémon! A compiled list of the starter Pokémon to choose from offered in Victory Road!
Personality: Freddy was built for entertainment, and as such is a show man in many regards, but rather than being thirsty for fame he simply genuinely enjoys being among people and doing something that fulfills his purpose. Bringing happiness, or joy, to many or just one is equally powerful for him. Inversely he feels the need to apologize for things he, himself is not responsible for when they cause even mild frustration or upset in those same individuals. He is empathetic in a way that shows he takes responsibility for not only the happiness of others but their upset as well.
Intentional in his build or not, he has a tendency toward being a positive role model of sorts. Freddy is uplifting of others, positive and an optimist. He supports those around him consistently and struggles to say anything negative about people even when they have been directly unkind to him. Through his encouragement he demonstrates a considerable parental interaction with Gregory, bolstering him and pushing him to do some things for himself, while being ready to be a fall back if things don’t go as planned. Even when he would normally be unwilling to disobey or unable to go places, if Gregory is in need of him, he finds his way there.
He is a very loyal individual and once he has chosen to ally himself with someone he will care for them, even when they are acting in ways that would otherwise garner distrust. When his bandmates show a propensity to attempt to capture Gregory, his charge, he tries to deflect the idea, saying that they are not allowed to harm guests, even as he does not directly tell Gregory he is wrong. Similarly when Gregory is evasive in telling Freddy just how his band members are after obtaining their upgrades he chooses to accept the words at face value. He even goes so far as to express hope that they are doing okay, in spite of the accidents that get him these upgrades.
Through his night spent with Gregory, it is more than just his physical shine that gets worn down, some of his innocent belief gets tarnished as well, allowing him to see that things aren’t as wonderful as he believed. When faced with the realization that what makes him ‘Freddy’ may be no more permanent than a set of clothes, he begins to have a crisis of person, even asking if he may be another animatronic with the wrong shell on, and he quickly accepts when he is guided out of the area, not readdressing the questions again.
Freddy is not without some amount of darkness of his own, it is made clear that he is not completely unaware of disappearances that have been happening in connection with the Mega Pizzaplex, something that he seems like he might be unwilling, or unable, to stop on his own. Additionally, while digging deeper into the mysteries under the Pizzaplex, he admits that he came to realize himself while down in this area. He speaks of the anger of his friends, something that he seems to feel is valid, but promises to protect Gregory from them, as he sees that the child is not the right outlet for that anger.
He has a sense of justice that, once unlocked, is fierce and determined. It takes a considerable amount of realization for him to start to act on this sense of justice, but once he does, it is accompanied by decisive action and conviction.

Character Name: Corrin Series: Fire Emblem Fates Timeline: Revelations Route (Chapter 18) Canon Resource Links: Corrin's page on the Fire Emblem Wiki
Personality: ( kind ) Corrin is an incredibly kindhearted person - almost to a fault, as he trusts others very easily and has a very poor judgement of bad characters. He will come to the aid of anyone who should ask him for it, and apologises profusely if he causes offence to others. In an example of his compassion, Corrin once found injured "bird" nursed it back to health - but unbeknownst to him, this "bird" would turn out to be a dragon - becoming one of Corrin's allies and voice of support in his canon.
( naïve ) After being raised in isolation for nearly his entire life, Corrin is undeniably naïve about the way his world functions outside of his castle fortress. Inside of his sheltered upbringing, he was accustomed to having butlers/maids tending to his every need, and the constant affection from his incredibly doting adopted brothers and sisters. He is cited by both of his older brothers, Ryoma and Xander, as being too trusting of other people, expressing fear that others might take advantage of such trustworthiness.
( charismatic ) Despite having been sheltered throughout all of his childhood, he is incredibly social and conversational, with enough persuasive charm to the point of convincing some enemy soldiers to join their cause after showing them mercy. Corrin is frequently described as being charming and charismatic, with the ability to make those he meets feel incredibly drawn to him and comfortable around him. In his support conversations with his allies, he is shown to be considerate and genuinely interested in them.
( curious ) Throughout various dialogues with friends from Corrin's childhood, there are frequent discussions about Corrin's lifelong goal of leaving the fortress and getting to see the outside world. In a bid to provide Corrin a glimpse of this freedom, his best friend, Silas, devised a plan to sneak Corrin out of the castle to experience a picnic. His curiosity also extends to his friends and allies, showing a fascination towards them and a tendency to ask a lot of questions in support conversations.
( pacifist ) Corrin has a strong aversion towards violence and will only fight his enemies when he has no other choice, throughout his canon game he explicitly states that he wants to try to win the war with as few casualties as possible. On the rare occasion that he fights without mercy, it is motivated by nothing other than the enemy units in question having total disregard against innocent lives and thus cannot be reasoned with, leaving Corrin with no other choice as to resort to violence in his bid for a peaceful future.

Character Name: Insector Haga Series: YuGiOh Duel Monsters Timeline: Post-Canon aka post last episode of the anime Canon Resource Links:His page on the wiki!
Personality:
It's easier if I break down his personality into positive traits and negative traits!
• Positives +He is pretty damn determined once he sets his sights on an objective. Even though he may come out as stubborn, no one can deny that once Haga decides on something, nothing can change his mind and he'll see things to the end, and that is probably one of his strongest traits. Anyone else, after such crushing defeats against Yuugi, would have given up, but not this dumb brat. He keeps trying and trying, and just stops after he almost dies TWICE. +He'll gladly be salty with you if you happen the mutually dislike the same person. Not sure how much of a "positive" this is, but if someone has an enemy in common with him, he is going to be a lot more favorable towards them. He ends up connecting to Ryuzaki due to their mutual dislike for Yuugi and co., and also accepted to go with the Doma folks because they wanted to crush Yuugi. So, if the spite is mutual, you'll have a very determined ally with you (if you can stand his whining of course). +When he's not being insufferable, he's a very polite and proper person. Haga IS capable of being polite and mild, even a little friendly is the situation calls for it. Sure, sometimes he does it as a front so he can earn people's trust (aka SAY GOODBYE TO EXODIA) but he can behave proper in a genuine way. Like when he won the National Championship and was actually pretty polite when accepting his award. Basically, when he isn't full of spite in his heart, he's actually an alright teen. +He loves bugs and insects more than life itself, and honestly he prefers the company of creepy crawlies more that of other humans.
• Negatives: -Isn't exactly the most approachable individual as a whole. Haga is terrible at socializing because of his stubborn and often times insufferable behavior. He'll be annoying and he'll insult others without a second thought, so he isn't an easy teen to deal with, specially if you are closer to his age (he tries to behave better near adults, but there's no guarantee on that front). He literally only has one canon friend, and even so, him and Ryuzaki bicker and argue constantly. -Is very egotistical, full of himself and spoiled. Throughout the series is pretty obvious that Haga considers himself to be better than literally everyone around him, and he has no qualms about showing how much he thinks others are inferior to him in every way. Of course, often times he isn't better than the people he goes against, and he probably knows that, but that doesn't stop him. -Cheats a lot and has the potential to be manipulative. He definitely isn't above cheating and using under-handed tactics to get what he wants. Please refer to EVERY SINGLE DUEL HE HAD AFTER THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. He literally mind-controlled a kid to put a card on someone's deck, so really... -Is very spiteful. When he hates someone, he REALLY hates someone. He was ready to murder Yuugi during the DOMA arc (really, he got a card that would literally take the soul out of Yuugi's body if he got to win), so if that isn't enough proof I dunno what else is!

Haga stared at the Gym building intently for a couple seconds, before looking down at the Pokeballs hanging on his belt. He sighed and looked up at the Gym sign again.
Violet City Gym.
At first Haga kind of expected Pokemon battles to feel similar to Duel Monster duels, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Dueling was far more slow paced and the fact it worked in turns gave him time to study the situation a lot better. And as much as he liked to think he was good at thinking fast, battling has shown him he was sorely mistaken. He wasn't the worst at battling by any means, but he wasn't exactly the best either.
He felt his fingers curl into tight fists. Maybe trying to do this whole gym challenge thing was a bad idea. Maybe he wasn't really cut for it...
Then his eyebrows furrowed. What was he thinking? Of course he could do it! He was brought to a completely new world, and no one knew anything about him here. No one knew of his failures, his missteps, his bad reputation... Sure, he had to start at the bottom, but didn't he start at the bottom back in Domino too before winning the National Championship? If he could be a National Champion back home, he could be a champion in this world too!
With renewed determination Haga smirked to himself, tapping the Pokeballs on his belt with the tip of his fingers. He wouldn't be so foolish as to make the same mistakes he did back in Domino. No way. He was going to take down those gyms one by one, and by the end of it all, his name would be in everyone's mouths. He would finally be praised and revered again, like he deserved.
Just imagining the people cheering for him once more like in the Nationals gave a spring to his step, as he swung open the doors to the gym, ready for his first major battle.

Character Name: Crookedkit Series: Warriors Timeline:Crookedstar's Promise, after returning from his attempt to visit the Moonstone Canon Resource Links:Wiki 1Wiki 2Wiki 3
⚠️ Spoilers for Crookedstar's Promise and Bluestar's Prophecy within!
Personality: From his earliest memory, Crookedkit - then Stormkit - has been ambitious, energetic, and a troublemaker. No border could hold him, no warrior could scold him, and like many young kits he determined quickly that he was going to one day be a legendary leader of RiverClan. His mother's adoration and high expectations for him and his brother fostered a thriving ego, though his brother and his older denmates were always eager to compete with him. As he grew and began to encounter the mysterious specter Mapleshade, her encouragements and promises of grand destiny would only serve to further feed his self-importance and his boldness. While this is of course a flaw for him as it often is for most, and happens to be a major contributing factor to the injury that changed his life, it also becomes something of a lifeline for him. His boldness makes him self-sufficient enough that, even in the face of his mother's hatred and rejection, he's able to not only pick himself up and carry on, but to continue to make bold choices. Not just any cat of such a young age, on the heels of such trauma, would choose to venture alone out of camp, never mind to go as far afield as Highstones.
As much as he does think highly of himself, though, Crookedkit is still very much a family cat. It's his persistent care for others and the sheer amount of love he has to give to those around him that ultimately renders Mapleshade's plotting useless. She worms her way into his heart and drags him through sorrow after sorrow, but even when Crookedstar himself succumbs to disease he remains assured that he is loved because throughout his life he loved others. It is this warmth and care for others that defines most first impressions of him in peaceful circumstances; even Bluestar was taken aback by his friendliness to complete strangers when they first met at the first Gathering she ever attended.
Crookedkit's love and pride meet to create extreme loyalty as well. If his openness and friendliness with Bluepaw was a surprise, his ferocity when they first encountered each other as enemies was an absolute shock. His boldness shines just as much when carrying himself as a protector of his Clan as it does when confronted with the unfamiliar, driving him to fight hard and never turn his back on his own. Even Rainflower, who turns so cruelly on him after his injury, he never gives up on mending things with. He strives for the betterment of his whole family and his whole Clan, even when confronted with rejection and discord. RiverClan is everything to him throughout his entire life, even when his promise to Mapleshade causes strife and tension for outsiders. It's not entirely clear in the text how much of Crookedstar's devotion to RiverClan stems from that promise, but even before he makes it there is almost nothing that comes before his Clan in his eyes.
Much of Crookedstar's character, however, is naturally shaped by the events of his life in the Clans - in coming to the pokemon world so young, there is every possibility that he will grow in very different ways, especially without Mapleshade's abuse clouding his mind. Though there is little doubt that wherever his adventures may go, Crookedkit's fierce passion and tremendous heart will have plenty of room to grow and thrive here, alongside all the crucial life lessons, relationships, and experiences that Mapleshade would have taken from him.

Character Name: Hanako 'Rosalina' Nurumi Series: Original Timeline:Ninth Life, shortly after Charlie is killed and an attempt on Rose's life is made.
Original Character Background: ( cw: human trafficking, non-consensual violence, and mentions of suicide )
There are many people who believe that humanity is alone in the world. As one might have guessed, they are wrong. However, they are only partially wrong. Creatures like werewolves and vampires were human at one point. Just like many species, these abnormalities are genetic mutations that have occurred throughout humanity's existence. While there are plenty more of these mutations to speak of, vampires and werewolves are the most 'popular' and thus the most commonly represented in modern media. So, why is humanity partially right then in thinking they are alone in the world? It's because the scariest things that go 'thump' in the night aren't actually from their world. The world that they do come from is called many things across many different cultures. Some religious groups call it 'Hell.' The closest name to being accurate would be the Japanese lore of the Makai – the Demon World.
This world is connected to humanity's at several different points. Though, as one can imagine, it isn't exactly easy to find let alone pass through these points. Only those with an aptitude for energy manipulation and detecting the supernatural ( shamans, 'witches,' etc. ) are able to even think about tapping into the other side. It takes a lot of skill and determination to travel to the Makai. In fact, it usually requires the work of more than one person. What of the the yōkai, the demons? Don't they also try to cross the barriers that separate them and the human world? The answer, simply, is no. Not very often. Though humans and yokai used to co-exist, such a time has become history now. Humans taint the purity of their world and thus the demons keep to themselves.
The Makai is a primitive place. Things like electricity and running water that humans take for granted are reserved only for the most powerful demon lords. Many live off the land, hunting and gathering for food. However, most are content this way. They gain a sense of pride from living so in tune with nature. It is how they have gotten by for the entirety of their existence. Some things are becoming more 'modern' but those areas are isolated and, again, reserved for the elite. Being one with nature is in demon blood, it is at the very core of who they are. Many yōkai originated from animal spirits, after all.
They do not think of humanity or their world as being luxurious. Part of the reason why is because most demons see themselves as superior to humans. A good many demons are warriors with superhuman strengths and abilities. Humans do not even provide them a challenge. In fact, humans that venture to the Demon World are usually either enslaved or slaughtered before they have a chance to do much else. That is why humanity shifted from trying to get to the Makai to instead bringing yōkai to them. By performing rituals, humans discovered that they could summon forth demons from the points that connect to theirs and enslave them with the proper incantations or magically embedded chains. It wasn't an easy task but after enough trial and error, several groups of people throughout Japan became rather proficient at summoning otherworldly creatures. They would capture these demons and pit them against each other for their own entertainment and gain over one another.
It is the yōkai that are called monsters by humans. But it is humankind that is seen as nothing but a plague by the yōkai. Peace between the two worlds seems like an impossibility; yet, there are some who would like to believe differently. However, those that believe are few and far between. So, while peace isn't unobtainable it certainly is still a long, long way off.
Rose was born to the beta of a prestigious pack of okuri inu in the Hida mountains. It didn't take long before it was discovered that she was a 'defective' child. She was a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. While the girl had an aptitude for fighting and survival, she was weak in other ways that were unacceptable. The first time her father killed an elderly human that tripped on a mountain pass, she cried for him. No one had ever heard or seen an okuri inu with such empathy for people. It drove her mother to suicide and her father to try and kill her, claiming she should have been the one to die. Her pack alpha stopped her father and told her to run in a moment of mercy. She did and never looked back.
For nearly two hundred years, she roamed the Makai alone searching for a home she'd never known and likely wouldn't find. One day, a proposal was made to Rose in the form of an offer to live in the Ningenkai - the human realm - for no price. It was a deal too good be true but she took it anyway. As one might have imagined, it was a trap. She was enslaved in a to-the-death fighting ring for supernatural creatures like her for years. With her natural skill in battle and two hundred years in a fight for your life world of demons, she quickly became a champion: The Black Rose.
Her only solace was a friend in the man caged next to her named Ren Kazuki. He was a Japanese werewolf who had been the lead singer of a band before being captured. Through him, she gained a love of music that helped see her through the darkest times in the ring. Eventually, she was slated for a breeding program to bring rise to the next generation of champion fighters. Rose resigned herself to this fate but Ren wouldn't allow it. He plotted an escape, executed it, and lost his life in the process of making sure that Rose managed to get away. She took the lives of everyone on her way out in a fit of rage and grief.
Ren had instructed her before he passed to find a friend of his. The elderly witch gave Rose a handful of gifts: Ren's guitar, a glamour, and the news that she was a wanted woman all across Japan's underground demon-hunting population. She fled the country and arrived in America in 1988. It was still the height of Rock 'n' Roll and finding a job as a roadie was easy. It killed two birds with one stone; she could continue her love of music and live a life on the road to keep on the run from hunters perusing her. So she set out without a second thought.
After a few years, Rose thought maybe the search for her had gone cold. The year was 1999 and everything in life was going pretty fine. A new millennium was approaching and the world felt like it was turning over a new leaf. Maybe, Rose thought she could finally settle down. So she stayed in a sleepy town in Georgia for just a little over three months. She learned the hard way in the form of a woman named Roxanne that coming to a standstill wasn't an option. Roxanne was a rocker roadie just like Rose. She had huge dreams of being one of the biggest stars on stage in the 2000s. When she tried to take said stage with Rose as her guitarist, she was rewarded with a bullet between the eyes by a hunter that had gotten wind of the wolf woman in his city. Just as she had time and time again, Rose fled.
The next time Rose stopped running after Roxanne was 2018. It was the first time in three hundred years that she had met another yokai like her. He was a neko - a cat - by the alias of Charlie. Rose had never gotten to know his real name for he joked that after eight lives he hardly remembered who he was anymore. She'd come to learn in time he wasn't exactly like her. Instead of wanting to just live among humans, he desired to hurt them in a different way. He too was an escapee one of the fighting rings scattered across the world. He wanted the people that ran them to suffer the same way he and Rose had, to swing the pendulum the other way and have humans get a taste of the pain they'd inflicted on their kind. His fiery rage was stomped out by a bullet through his heart and his ninth life coming to an anticlimactic end. In the same breath, an attempt on Rose's life was made. As far as she knows, it was successful.
Personality: + Above all things, Rose is adventurous. She isn't afraid to charge out on her own or headfirst for better or for worse. Almost nothing seems to be enough to deter the woman from doing what she wants to do.
+ She is also adaptable, resilient, and resourceful. Rose has been through a lot in her life but continues to keep going. When thrown into new situations, the woman does her best to immediately adapt to it to the best of her capability. This is shown through her independent travels through the Makai and learning to survive as a lone wolf, being thrust into a fighting ring and learning fast how to keep herself alive, and even joining humanity as she'd always dreamed and found ways to blend in and hide in plain sight.
+ She is also, for the most part, fairly intelligent. However, she is not analytical. Not really. Rose is known for snap judgments and decisions after a surface-level glance at her situations. Her strength is speed not just on her feet but also mentally. She has an aptitude for thinking fast... even if sometimes fast isn't all that's needed to get out of a situation unscathed.
- Most of where Rose's weaknesses rest are within her own convoluted mental state due to all of what she's been through. So, her greatest weakness is believing that she is undeserving of just about anything. She isn't worthy of any goodness granted to her, especially not the people in her life that care about her. All she sees is a monster that isn't near worthy of things such as friendship or love. She doesn't understand why they care about her and even goes so far as to convince herself that they actually don't. Or, even worse, that they do but they'd be far better off without her. It is because of these beliefs that she ends up making extremely selflessly selfish decisions and hurting or disappointing them terribly.
- To go along with that, Rose thinks only of herself, only of her suffering, and tends to take the weight of the world on her shoulders instead of seeking help when necessary. The blond lets things reach a breaking point that inevitably lead to the aforementioned bad decision-making. She holds a lot of negative thoughts and emotions inside behind her smiles and tries to deal with them on her own instead of confiding in others. She sees this not as harmful to herself but instead helping others; her problems aren't a burden anyone else should have to bear.
- Finally, one of her strengths is a weakness of its own. Her quick thinking outside of do-or-die situations can lead to impulsive decisions that actually do more harm than good. She is quick to decide on something only to realize the repercussions of her actions after the fact. Though this can lead to some very fun, interesting situations it can also lead to very dramatic mistakes as well.

Character Name: Lorenz Hellman Gloucester Series: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Timeline: Azure Moon: End of Chapter 16 Canon Resource Links:LorenzAzure MoonMajor Headcanons
Personality: At first blush Lorenz is rather grating. He seems shallow, pompous, and unremarkable. The same charm that many of the members of his class have is missing from the nobleman despite having the most refined upbringing, by far the highest status both politically and socially for his entire life. In the years following their time at the Academy Lorenz is faced with challenges and ever higher stakes for them.
While in his class' route he learns and grows from continued interactions with his classmates, developing into a better man and friend, without that binding figure of the Professor Lorenz... is something of a coward. With or without the Professor he is always something of a braggart. He does not have a shred of tact and will mention his name and status at every turn. He is rather reminiscent of a peacock, strutting around flashing the most extravagant of what he can offer a partner... Because it is what he has been taught his entire life is important. The most important thing. The only important thing.
Nothing about him is unique or valuable in any way, or so he's led to believe. His father is a ruthless, manipulative man that has no need for a son. Only an obedient heir that will ensure he and his House will excel no matter the cost. In routes where he is not recruited Lorenz is either never seen again, too well groomed by the Count to dare speak against him. Or, as in Azure Moon, when he does appear on the field he speaks of longing for the days at the Academy, free from his Father's influence, and insists that he has no choice but to fight for the Empire or die.
And die he does.
Which is not to say he does not have the same capacity for change and improvement as he does in other routes. Even before his death his mannerisms are less abrasive, calmer and more refined. The very thing that he spent his youth brandishing in everyone's faces becomes a thing that brings him only shame. But the reasons he was so eager to sing his own praises, that need for acceptance and validation that he has never (will never) receive from his father, has not changed. But perhaps, without the toxic influence of The Count, he will be able to find it in him to grant himself that acceptance he yearns for.

Victory Road Sample:TDM Tagout: more generic poké nonsense for setting
Personality: The son of Duke Leto Atreides and Lady Jessica, Paul Atreides is the heir to a powerful royal House. As such, he received specialized training in combat, politics, and other skills he would need when inheriting his father's position as Duke and to survive in the dangerous environment of his universe's politics. As things played out, Paul had to take his father's place far earlier than either of them anticipated when House Atreides was betrayed to its enemies by the Emperor and both Paul and his mother stranded on the harsh desert planet of Arrakis.
As the ducal heir for his House, Paul carries a lot of responsibilities, and is well aware of the expectations that come with that role. He's also become increasingly aware that there's a larger destiny in place for him - and he also knows that it's not an entirely good one. He's uncertain about his role in events, and not entirely happy with it, but pushes forward with what his destiny seems to be.
Paul is highly intelligent, and used to being treated like and keeping pace with his adult mentors in conversation. He's learned to compensate for his relative lack of physical strength with agility, adaptability, and quick thinking. Despite his royal background, he isn't particularly snobby towards others and is respectful to people he comes across and works with, if somewhat distant. There's a more ruthless, fierce streak underneath his calm demeanor that doesn't come out often - unless pushed - but is frightening when it does.
POSITIVES:
+ Paul is smart. He's quick-witted, able to form strategies on relatively short notice, and learn new skills with relatively little prompting from others. He's able to read people and pick up on social cues.
+ He is adaptable to new situations. He actively enjoys learning about and studying new cultures and locations, so it's likely he'll learn how to live in the world of Pokémon relatively fast.
+ Paul has a lot of personal charisma and is a natural leader. It's likely he'll be a very capable trainer once he's properly on his feet, and good at persuading others to follow his lead in an appropriate situation.
+ After everything back in his universe, Paul is difficult to scare. Whatever he sees or has to deal with in the Pokémon world, it's a safe bet that he's seen as bad or worse back home.
NEGATIVES:
- When sufficiently angered, Paul has a surprising and scary ruthless streak. He's not a Rocket, but his pragmatic, occasionally cold way of thinking can sometimes not be so different.
- Paul sometimes overestimates his own control over a situation, and when he does screw up it tends to be very, very bad. In the Pokémon world, he might have too much faith in a strategy or assume he has something in hand when he doesn't.
- As a duke's son, Paul grew up surrounded by palace intrigue and constant danger of assassination. As such, while not rude he tends to be cagey with other people. He can come off as cold and reserved to people he doesn't know.
- At this canonpoint, Paul is still a little unsure of himself as a leader and will be reluctant to step up to the plate in a situation if another, more experienced candidate is available to take charge.

Before we make our final decision on your application, we would like a revised personality section for Paul.
One of the first things we noticed upon clicking the wiki link is that Paul experiences what he believes to be prophetic visions in his dreams, which later do appear to portend the future. However, nothing about this appears in your application, so we'd like you to expand on his personality to include it and the specific canon events a bit more. The lack of powers in Victory Road doesn't erase the influence those powers had on a character in their canon! We'd also like some examples of canon moments that reflect the traits listed in his personality.
You will have one week to complete these requests before the character is available again.

Character Name: Iwaizumi Hajime Series: Haikyuu!! Timeline: Chapter 369 before the first timeskip Canon Resource Links:Wiki Link
Personality: Tough but kind. Unless you're Oikawa.
Iwaizumi's attitude on his own is a simple one. He's a down-to-earth kind of guy. Reliable, loyal and a bit of a dork. He's there for his friends when they need him, making himself available to give advice in that calm way he has. His dorkiness comes out when something suddenly excites him, particularly monster movies and the like. Simple things that bring joy to his life, or things he knows he can later tease his bestfriend about.
With the team and others he is respectful, he isn't one to burn bridges because of a loss, he can accept and acknowledge the strengths of others. He sees it as just a reason for him to get stronger. As the co-captain of Aoba Johsai, his own team tend to look up to him for his support of them and the boosts he gives them to strive to be better. He pushes but knows the limits of his team, understands what they're capable of and, with his captain, do what it takes to bring out the best in them.
With Oikawa, however, all of the previous comments can be thrown out of the window. He has less patience for his bestfriend and captains antics and has been known to handle those antics with mild violence. Iwaizumi has been known to have something of a temper, and Oikawa knows just what buttons to press to ignite it. (He is the only one allowed to hit Oikawa.) But on the other hand he does care a great deal for his captain and does his best to be a rock for him when the other is having a hard time. He gets angry if Oikawa pushes himself too hard and will often yell at him to take better care of himself. Iwaizumi takes it almost as a personal mission to make sure that his bestfriend stays healthy and unhurt. This shows that, under the gruff and no-nonsense exterior, Iwaizumi cares deeply. Not only for his bestfriend, but for all of his friends. He just often hides it under a layer of snark.

Character Name: Naoto Kurogane Series: Blazblue Timeline: Post Central Fiction Canon Resource Links:https://blazblue.wiki/wiki/Naoto_Kurogane (tw: visual amputation in the biography tab of the link) Personality: Naoto came from a life full of tragedy, but still manages to keep a smile on his face. The tragedies he faced shaped his thinking into one of total isolation, making sure he’s alone or else he starts fearing the worst if one were to know he even existed. This world view does not stem from a fear of being cursed, rather it’s because he’s too kind hearted to subject anyone to his sadness. From losing most of his family to his own sister at a young age, to becoming a vampire and a three-time amputee within the span of two months within his second year of high school, saying ‘he’s gone through a lot’ is a huge understatement. Because of this, he doesn’t allow anyone into his life easily—either they come willingly, like his cousin, or rather rudely crash in, like his master, Raquel.
If given the chance, Naoto will actively avoid crowds and any sort of interaction. He’s even the person who will sit there and think over how to respond instead of blurting anything out. However, he is capable of being social and acting like the stereotypical energetic type, but rarely any of his smiles reach his eyes. He does have a side of him where if pushed, will use a sharp tongue and his fiery temper to protect himself from anyone getting too close. It’s helped him keep everyone at arm’s length, unwilling to let anyone see just how much of an empty person he really is. (Because of his love of the otome visual novel genre, though, he does have a small hope that finding romance might help him recover. You’d have to pay him exorbitantly to even admit he loves the visual novel genre though.)
Because of the tragedies he’s faced, Naoto has a maturity one might have if they were well into the end years of his life. Naoto’s basic needs may have been covered through his aunt and cousin’s charity, but his emotional turmoil was left to fester, and he had to become his own therapist in order to cope. This was all done because of one of Naoto’s inheritances: the Eye of the Hunter. The eye’s ability was that it allowed him to see a person’s emotional and physical states in the form of a bright red number hovering over one’s head. This number allowed Naoto to see that whenever he dared to speak of his trauma, the number of the listener would drop, and because of Naoto’s kind hearted nature, he simply stopped, even if it meant ending a conversation in an awkward place. And because the eye is a secret to the entire world, Naoto can’t even speak about that.
Despite his guarded nature, he will gladly face the world with a smile, as it’s the only way he feels he can take it on. His greatest wish is to live a normal life, away from the chaos of what he has to deal with on the daily. To meet that goal, he feels as if he needs to put on a smile, before the world tears away even that. He will definitely be careful, but there isn’t anything he won’t face without the hope for a better future.
Pokémon Information Affiliation: Trainer Starter: Litwick – Naoto’s canon ability, the Eye of the Hunter, is an ability that allows Naoto to find out how long someone has to live. Litwick’s Pokédex entry states that it often acts as a guide for others, even if it means draining one’s energy. Naoto often does not tell someone when they are close to death, but seeing as Litwick will guide anyone, Naoto will learn from the little candle. Password: Atomic Fireball

Character Name: Lucilius Series: Granblue Fantasy Timeline: post-000, sealed in the dimensional rift Canon Resource Links:https://gbf.wiki/What_Makes_the_Sky_Blue_III:_000 (GBF Wiki does have character pages, but they're fairly barebones for NPCs, so I linked the page for the event he's most prominent in. It includes a full transcript.) Personality:
Lucilius is heavily driven by the pursuit of knowledge. Other characters in the story who know him mention he would spend most of his time focusing solely on his research, and his fellow Astrals seemed to regard him as an oddball at best. In particular, he's fascinated with evolution to the point he created an entire species -- primal beasts -- in order to understand it, each one of them filling some sort of role integral to life. He also strives for perfection, owing to the fact he himself is an imperfect clone. His first and greatest creation, the Supreme Primarch Lucifer, was directly a result of Lucilius being subconsciously aware of his imperfection.
Additionally, he is extremely cold and callous to nearly all people, even fellow Astrals he addresses with the same kind of tone someone would use to describe someone they hate. But the one he's closest to, Lucifer, he speaks to earnestly and seems to hold in very high regard. In the same conversation he both speaks openly to Lucifer and refers to Sandalphon as one might talk about an animal, coldly dismissing him as a useless spare and being almost solely responsible for his breakdown. Despite that, he does seem to hold some respect for anyone who is willing to stand up to him. Towards the end of 000, he taunts Sandalphon and accuses him of not being a proper Supreme Primarch until he pushes himself to the limit.
Lastly, his endless desire for knowledge led him to the discovery that his people, the Astrals, and the races of mortals were driven to fight each other for so long solely because the god of his world was split in two, with the two halves fighting for dominance. In other words, the people were nothing but pawns, and in his eyes would never be free from the cycle unless all was brought to an end. So to that effect, he has countless plans to destroy the world, enough that the only way to stop him was to seal him in a rift between dimensions.
Despite not even being fully introduced until the final entry in the What Makes the Sky Blue trilogy, Lucilius is still an extremely important character to Granblue's backstory, and I'm very excited to bring him into the world of Pokémon.

Paul is highly intelligent, and used to being treated like an adult and keeping pace with his adult mentors in conversation. He's learned to compensate for his relative lack of physical strength with agility, adaptability, and quick thinking, and is seen fighting Gurney Halleck in a controlled fight which ends in a draw and is victorious against the seasoned Fremen warrior Jamis in a duel to the death, overpowering Jamis three times before killing him and displaying dominance throughout the fight. Despite his royal background, he isn't particularly snobby towards others and is respectful to people he comes across and works with, if somewhat distant. He is warm and relatively casual towards his adult mentors.
There's a more ruthless, dark streak underneath his calm demeanor that doesn't come out often - unless pushed - but is frightening when it does. This is most prominent when he confronts his mother over distressing images in his visions of the future, angrily using his powers on her and accusing her of making him a freak. While he doesn’t particularly enjoy violence, since he is reluctant to kill Jamis in a duel to the death, gives him several chances to back out, and only goes through with it when it’s clear that Jamis won’t stand down, he will resort to violence when he has to.
Paul has several unusual abilities – he had Mentat training, which contributes to his excellent memory and skill with both learning and recording information, as well as Bene Gesserit training in martial arts and use of The Voice, a special tone of his voice which allows him to control others. He has partial visions of the future, both in the form of dreams and as visions triggered by spice, which both serve as a guide for him and unsettle him. These visions don’t necessarily represent the future as it happens, but serve as images of what could be. Paul feels a strong sense of responsibility for seeing his foreseen destiny through, as well as knowledge that this destiny will not necessarily be a positive one – images of a bloody holy war spreading through the universe in his name haunt him.
POSITIVES:
+ Paul is smart. He's quick-witted, able to form strategies on relatively short notice, and learn new skills with relatively little prompting from others. In a high-stress situation, he was able to develop a strategy to pilot an ornithopter through a dust storm powerful enough by using the winds to carry the device up to a dust-free zone.
+ Paul is adaptable to new situations. He actively enjoys learning about and studying new cultures and locations; Paul is seen studying holobooks and literature on the native culture and ecology of Arrakis on his family’s arrival. It's likely he'll learn how to live in the world of Pokémon relatively fast through books and observing the local population.
+ Paul is able to keep a cool head in a crisis and doesn’t panic. At multiple points in his canon, such as passing the gom jabbar test and piloting an ornithopter with his mother through a powerful dust storm during an escape, he demonstrates strong control over his emotions and particularly his fear.
+ Paul demonstrates strong loyalty to his friends and loved ones. He was ready to fight beside Duncan Idaho during his sacrifice, was distressed when he was separated for his own safety, and was willing to fight a veteran Fremen warrior in defense of his mother.
NEGATIVES:
- When sufficiently angered, Paul has a surprisingly commanding and aggressive streak – highlighted when he confronts his mother after he has a vision of the destructive jihad that will be led in his name in the future.
- As a duke's son, Paul grew up surrounded by palace intrigue and constant danger of assassination. As such, while not rude he tends to be cagey with other people about information. He can come off as cold and reserved to people he doesn't know or trust.
- At this canonpoint, Paul is still a little unsure of himself as a leader and will be reluctant to step up to the plate in a situation if another, more experienced candidate is available to take charge. He is seen questioning his own suitability to his father and expresses concern whether he will be able to take on his responsibilities as Duke in the future, and throws out strategies for dealing with the Emperor in conversation with Dr. Kynes that are quickly explained to be impractical and unrealistic. - Without access to his visions, Paul will have a harder time orienting himself to the Pokemon world than he would with them.

Character Name: Boober Fraggle Series: Fraggle Rock Timeline: Post-"Change of Address" Canon Resource Links:Wiki Link
Personality: Boober is a gloomy, superstitious, cranky worrywart of a fraggle, and as such one might assume he's also a very unhappy fellow. The truth is it's complicated. Overall, Boober finds a sense of security in his anxiety and sadness - though there are certainly times when they overwhelm him. He may not find dancing and playing games fun, as other fraggles do - those sort of things, at best, just don't do it for him, and at worst, stress him out. But he finds his own sort of fun. He enjoys a lot of domestic and otherwise quiet activities, like cooking and especially laundry. In fact, doing laundry is his official job in Fraggle Rock, and he takes great pride in that and any other job he does well-- He's also taken on a lot of the cooking and medical work down there. He's one of the more consistently serious (and snarky) fraggles you'll see among a group of fun-loving optimists.
Socially, Boober needs his alone time, or at least his quiet time, on a regular basis. That said, he loves his friends and tries his best to take care of them in the way he can-- Honestly, in a way he often feels only he will think about. Because, yes, part of Boober's worrying is preparation for the worst. It's worth noting that as a result of this, when a disaster is actually present he's usually able to handle it rather calmly. The possibility is worse than the reality, with the catch that when a disaster is something he's never considered -- dogs getting into Fraggle Rock or humans polluting their water supply -- he's still a mess. However, in both of those examples he ultimately comes through. These instances where he had no choice but to come through in the clutch have created character development.
Now, there actually is a part of Boober that’s much like other fraggles. Sidebottom, the "fun side that Boober keeps on the bottom" is someone Boober doesn’t usually think of as himself. Of course, Sidebottom is still just Boober, and the struggle to accept this repressed aspect of his pen personality is something crucial to Boober’s development that isn’t truly resolved by the end of canon. So while Boober certainly becomes a braver and stronger fraggle throughout the series, and he’s on the path to reconciling this as well, there’s still room for him to grow.
