These are the songs that are always playing in the Johto Journey. You know, the bizarre 16bit tunes that brought the feel of the game? They're here too! And they're never ending. Typically, it's only at a soft volume, like the volume you'd hear at a department store. But it's noticeable. It's always there.

We ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

The comment character limit on Dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.

While players are welcome to play multiple characters (five characters maximum are allowed per player!), please only apply for one character at a time, and wait for a decision before submitting another application!

Breeder, Trainer? Or maybe even down the dark path of becoming a member of Team Rocket? Note: All Rocket members start as grunts. (For right now, only those three positions are available, whether your character chooses to follow their assigned path or not.) <b>Starter:</b> What starter Pokémon do you want your character to have? Please use the list linked above to choose from. <b><u>Samples</u></b> <b>RP Sample:</b> The sample must be a thread, with at least five comments from you, that you have made anywhere with this character in the last four months at the canon point you have chosen for said character. Linking to a post or log containing multiple threads will also suffice, as long as at least one of the threads has the required number of comments. This thread sample can be in any format (e.g. network post, prose log, actionspam, Dear Mun post, and so on). While it does not have to be set in Victory Road's setting, you <i>can</i> use a Victory Road test drive thread for this sample, as long as it's a different thread than one used for the second sample below. What we are looking for here is grasp of your character's voice and a sense of how you operate as a role-player. If we feel that the sample provided is not adequate, we reserve the right to ask for another. <b>Victory Road Sample:</b> This sample must take place in Victory Road's setting and can be EITHER a written post OR another thread if you would prefer not to write a post. The minimum is 300 words for a prose sample, eight sentences for a network post/actionspam sample, or ten comments total (five from you) in an RP sample. What we are looking for here is how the character responds to the Pokéworld's setting. You can also use a Victory Road test drive thread for this sample, but you cannot use the same top-level for the first sample above.

Reserves are held for one week! They expire at 11:59 PM EST of the date listed.

- If you would like an extension, please comment to let us know. Extensions will last for one week, so at the longest, one character may be reserved for two weeks.
- You cannot extend a reserve that has already expired. If your reserve expires, please fill out the form again for a new reserve.
- You may only reserve one character at a time. If you would like to drop or swap an extension, just let a mod know here as well (and your week will start over the day you swap the reserve).

HIATUS

→ Hiatuses should hopefully be no longer than one month. If an additional month extension is needed, please contact a moderator.
→ If it lasts longer than two months, we request that you drop the character so other players can have a chance to apply.
→ There is a one week grace period for a player to return and not satisfy an activity check. If the expected return date is over a week before an activity check, activity check requirements must still be met; if it is expected within a week of an activity check, just link the hiatus comment. (If a player is actively on hiatus during an activity check, they will get one free pass.)
→ Please do not abuse this to character squat.

ICly, dropped characters do not necessarily have to return to their "home world" the way it was. If you plan on re-apping your character later, feel free to handwave and say that they were off floating in a void for a bit or what have you.
