    Name: Snakes Tolliver
    Series: The Wild Wild West
Timeline: Right after he was poisoned in The Night of the Poisonous Posey, season 2, episode 7
Canon Resource Links: ... Unfortunately, I can't even find a Wiki page for the episode. Sadness. As per what I was told in this comment: https://indigo-league.dreamwidth.org/964.html?thread=1952196#cmt1952196 , here is a link to the episode itself, followed by my canon history.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPJ1BVfXSvI

Snakes is first seen in a funeral procession in Justice, Nevada and pointed out as a known criminal by Artemus Gordon of the Secret Service. He and his partner Jim West decide to investigate.

He participates in a mock funeral that serves as a cover-up for a Mafia-like gang’s meeting, casually playing the organ while the others wait for it to be time for their meeting. When Jim West exposes the fraud by crashing the funeral, Snakes confronts Jim about the strangeness of his presence, sarcastically pointing out that the wreath Jim brought was made with paper flowers. The jig is up and the gangsters decide to let Jim in on the joke about the funeral. The coffin is a fraud, filled with ice and beer for the meeting, and Snakes holds Jim at gunpoint while Jim looks inside. Snakes tries to avoid the ensuing battle but becomes part of it anyway and is thrown into the coffin and later at another gang member. Eventually it is he who gets the drop on Jim, holding a gun on him and bringing an end to the fight.

During the meeting, it is revealed that Snakes has decided to kill Miss Posey, presumably thinking he will assume control of her position himself. He has doctored a gavel with explosives and left it on the table as a gift. He then proceeds to out himself by acknowledging he was the one who left it there. Miss Posey is immediately suspicious and wants him to use the gavel. He awkwardly protests, “I’m not the chairman.” When she has her right-hand man Brutus set off the gavel wearing a protective glove, Snakes leaps up and tries to escape, then cowers when he doesn’t make it in time. Confronted by Miss Posey, he has the gall to keep denying his involvement even then, trembling and stammering, “You don’t think I had anything to do with that, now, do you?” She viciously attacks him by scratching his face with a poisoned fingernail. As he dies, he takes out his gun and still tries to attack her, but collapses before he can pull the trigger.

Personality: Snakes is a very mysterious fellow. At first glance he immediately shows he’s been around: the hypertrophic S-shaped scar on his left cheek that obviously gave him his nickname has a story that’s screaming to be told. His manner of dress is similar to a riverboat gambler, which may indicate he is part of such a profession. However, he is far more dangerous than a mere gambler (who possibly cheats).

Snakes is one of the six regional leaders of Lucrece Posey’s Mafia-like crime ring. Although the episode doesn’t really get into what he does in said organization, the fact that he was chosen from thousands of criminals definitely indicates that he is not to be underestimated. He most likely is an intelligent leader commanding many under him. His specialty is explosives, so perhaps he often blows up buildings when the occupants refuse to accept the gang moving in on a town.

He is a very cheeky fellow and not shy at all about the fact that he can't play the organ worth a lick. He taps the same few keys over and over while alternately smoking a cigar and calmly drinking a glass of water.

His voice changes more than once during the episode, obscuring the truth of his origins. He normally speaks in a gravelly voice devoid of an accent, but now and then he slips and speaks as a Southerner. Where is he truly from and why is he trying to hide it?

Snakes may be skilled with explosives, but he is also foolish, power-hungry, and cowardly. His plan to get rid of Miss Posey is preposterous, especially since everyone there would quickly figure out he was the one behind it. Did he think the gang would accept him as the new leader? Was he thinking at all? In fact, why was he so determined to take Miss Posey out? Was it truly a power-grab, or was there more to it? The fact that he tried again to kill her as he died is curious. Was it a desperate act of revenge for his death? Was he a plant in the gang trying to get close to Miss Posey for his own reasons, or someone else’s? Only he knows for sure, and he’s not talking.

Snakes is very self-assured under most circumstances he can control, but crumbles under direct pressure. When stressed, worried, or overconfident, he says and does very stupid things that lead to his downfall. He is also quite nervy, to continually deny his involvement in the murder attempt even after it's obvious and to actually think anyone will believe him.

Snakes is terrified of danger and will run from it as much and as far as he can, most likely abandoning anyone else in his wake. After waking up in Johto after being killed, he will be frightened, suffering from PTSD, and very distrustful. But he will soon set out on his own with his starter, try to figure out what’s going on, and how his new situation can benefit him in some way. He is very self-serving, but is there a heart somewhere underneath the criminal mastermind?

Victory Road Sample: Snakes was frightened beyond belief. This was better by far than waking up in Hell, but what was he to do with a world of giant animals, monsters, and bugs? He and the blue blob (Wobbuffet, was it?) had been chased by enormous caterpillars, bees, and moths all over creation. Now, finally as night was falling, they were hiding behind a rock.

"I guess I've sure gotta be glad Chita ain't here," he muttered. "She'd be screaming up a storm and calling out even more of these things."

He fumbled in his pocket for a cigar and then sighed. The middle of a wooded area was not a good place to smoke, especially if he wanted to stay hidden.

And what was he going to do with this Wobbuffet thing? It was following him around and was apparently his, but what did he know about taking care of animals, especially unusual ones like this? He didn't really want the responsibility.

But ... he had taken some time to read through information on it. It seemed Wobbuffet had some pretty powerful attacks. Maybe he could use that to his advantage. All of these creatures could do things that animals back home could not. As long as he had the blob, why not really make use of it? It could help him out of jams, and he could ... well, what could he do for it? There wasn't much that could be done until they reached some kind of civilization. According to the map, there was a town not too far from here. Maybe there he could learn more things.

He sighed again, slumping back against the rock. "What am I gonna do with you, huh? You know, you coulda done a whole lot better for yourself than me. I'm just a broken-down, washed-up gangster with nothing more to show for it. Back home I had a criminal empire, but even if I wasn't dead there, I guess that's all gone now that I tried to get rid of Miss Posey. They'd tear it all apart. I had to be some kind of crazy to think the others would follow me if I bumped her off. Brutus and Pinto, they're always fighting for her affections, and the others, they seemed fine with her too.

"I wonder if there's any kind of criminal organizations here? ... Not that it matters. I'm sick of working under someone else anyway. I was pretty big all on my own without Posey's help. That was why she came to me in the first place. Maybe I'll try to start up something like what I had back home, finding broken-down towns and fixing them up in exchange for some small favors from the townspeople. They were pretty willing. Boy howdy, they were just grateful somebody was coming along who could get them set up with better housing and sherriffing and that sorta thing. It didn't bother them none if not everything I did was strictly legal. Back there, you pretty much made your own laws a lot of the time anyway.

"This place might be more advanced than home in some ways, these Pokeballs and Gear and all, but they are seriously lacking in other departments. Maybe there's a lot I could do about that.

"Not without money, though. How do people make money here, anyway?"

    "Wobba," said Wobbuffet.

"Well, I guess we can figure it out tomorrow." Snakes pulled down his hat and folded his arms and tried to doze. But he was too used to the good life by now. Sleeping on a rock was not going to cut it.

Growling, he got up again. "Oh, what the hay. Come on, let's keep walking. Maybe we can reach that town after all."

He headed back to the path, Wobbuffet trailing after him.

    Character
    Name: Luna Lovegood
    Series: Harry Potter
Timeline: After the Battle of Hogwarts (before the epilogue)
Canon Resource Links: Fandom Wiki, Wikipedia

Personality: Luna is kind of dreamy and often comes across as distracted and strange. She's extremely open-minded, willing to give any theory a chance to be true before disbelieving something. She doesn't need concrete proof that something exists. Frankly, if there's no proof that something doesn't exist, she honestly believes there's always a chance that it can. She's very honest about her feelings, and perceptive as well, as her open-mindedness tends to give her a view of a situation that others might not catch. As the daughter of a tabloid magazine editor, she's often exposed to crazy theories and other half-truths that might be more true than people realize. Many of her classmates see her as strange for this, along with other things she does that are somewhat out of the ordinary. Luna admits to Harry once that she wears her shoes to bed. However, she also explains to him that she does this because she sleepwalks. Most likely, her Ravenclaw housemates never bothered to ask and just assumed she was weird for wearing shoes to bed.

Luna gets her sense of adventure and curiosity from both her parents. Her father runs the Quibbler, a magazine that often goes after the sensational stories... kind of like how the real world magazine, The Enquirer, picks up stories from "anonymous sources" and writes about things that they might not have complete solid proof are true (but there's also no solid proof those stories are NOT true!). The desire to be inquisitive and seeking answers to strange questions beyond what can immediately be seen is something that runs deep. Luna believes in small creatures like nargles that can't be seen with the naked eye. There's no proof they exist, but there's also no proof that they don't. Some might say she's a "Schrödinger-ist" in many ways. Her mother was a brilliant witch who loved to experiment with potions. Her mother's curiosity and experimentations did unfortunately take a price, however, when Luna's mother was killed in an explosion caused by a potion accident. This happened when Luna was 9, and she witnessed the event. It didn't deter her from being curious. If anything, she seems to want to honor her mother by continuing to feed her curiosity instead of hiding from it.

Luna is excellent at thinking outside the box. When Harry's logical thought process makes him think he has to find the Treasure of Ravenclaw in Ravenclaw Tower, it's Luna that points out to him that it's called "the lost Diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw" because it's lost. Why would something lost be so easy to find? She suggests asking people who might know better, who might have been around Hogwarts when the diadem became lost, and directs Harry to find the ghost of Helena Ravenclaw, Rowena's daughter, and the ghosty representative of Ravenclaw House, known colloquially as "The Grey Lady". Luna had been able to make friends with Helena, unlike many other students, because she simply would talk to her like she was a person, instead of treating her like a ghost. She respected that Helena didn't like being called The Grey Lady, and understood that she was very shy and preferred not to interact as much as some of the other ghosts did.

Luna respects everyone. Like she did with Helena, Luna also treated the House Elves with respect. At one point, she refers to Dobby as "sir" as he's about to help her and Olivander escape from the Malfoy Manor basement. Dobby is shocked by this, as many House Elves are seen as servants and slaves, and are often treated as such by older pureblood wizarding families. Luna does the same with animals. When she admits to Harry that she can also see the thestrals that pull the carriages, she doesn't regard the creatures with fear. Thestrals are not exactly attractive animals. They resemble demonic looking flying deer, in a way, and Luna isn't bothered by this as she knows they're domesticated and essentially harmless. The only reason she and Harry can both see them is because they've both witnessed death firsthand... Luna saw her mother die from the experiment, and Harry saw a fellow student get killed. She can often be found spending time with the stranger animals of Hogwarts, like the thestrals, feeding and caring for them.

Her open-minded nature often gives her a large amount of bravery. Luna has respect, but not a lot of fear. Despite being a year younger than the main trio, she's quite willing to accompany them to the Ministry of Magic to help Harry rescue Sirius from the prophecies room. In fact, when the team going tries to think of a way to get there, Luna even suggests using the thestrals because not everyone would see them, and they'd be good at being undetected. After Harry, Hermione, and Ron leave Hogwarts to go on their search for the horcruxes, Luna remains at school with many others, as she still has at least her sixth year to finish before she can choose to not continue, and helps Neville and several others who were allied with the main trio to keep Dumbledore's Army alive despite the Death Eaters' attempts to stop them.

    Character
    Name: Juniper Woods
    Series: Ace Attorney
    Timeline: Post-Dual Destinies
    Canon Resource Links: Here!

Personality: Juniper Woods is a very kind girl, and one of the easiest sorts to make friends with. She will always try to greet people with a smile or a hello, if not both. Though she can be a bit of a recluse, especially when it comes to meeting new people, she will do her best to accomodate other people over herself. She values friendship more than anything else in the world, and when she makes friends with someone, she tries her best to keep those friends. She even went as far as wear a friendship bracelet that her friend Robin Newman made for the two of them and their other best friend, Hugh O'Conner. Because of how much she values friendship, she will do whatever she can to keep her friends out of trouble and even from getting into trouble if she can help it, though sometimes her morality will shine through more and she will do what is morally right. She tends to naively think only the best of her friends - because if one of her friends does something that's terrible, she will want to not believe that it could possibly be true.

When it comes to her friends, Juniper tries to do as much for them as she can. As has been shown in canon multiple times, Juniper brings fruits and vegetables that she grows in her garden to give to her friends to show her support for them. She's given her best friend Athena an orange and her other good friend Apollo a lotus root, and gives them knowledge based around them. She also is a major worrywart about her friends when they're in danger, which she has shown for Apollo countless times when he helped save her from getting hurt by shielding her body when debris was falling during an explosion.

The good thing about her kindness is that when others around her are smiling and laughing, it causes her to generally do the same and feel more upbeat and optimistic about things. However there is a major downside to her kindness she tries to show. She's quite naive and can easily be manipulated by those who feign kindness and use her for their own means. She is easily trusting of others which lends more vulnerability to being lied to. She also gets nervous and frightened very easily and can do so when the situation is tense or nerve-wracking for her, or if others around her are also nervous, worried or frightened. Though sometimes she will try to perk others up, it's often difficult for her to be the light at the end of the tunnel. She also emotionally crumples easily under the weight of cruel stares or people just plain being mean to her.

Sometimes, she can put on a brave face and do what is necessary to get things done. Being Student Council President at Themis Legal Academy, Juniper thought it necessary to put aside her usual fright and nervousness with a serious look that would set an example of what all students should be. She can readily accept responsibility and follow directions to near perfection, as long as they are well within the bounds of her physical capabilities. This even caused her to not call her best friend Athena by her nickname 'Thena', in order to keep up the example she was trying to set for the other Academy students.

Juniper is a very outdoorsy person, and enjoys playing in the forest, especially given her home is centered in a forest on top of a mountain. She loves gardening and exploring in the wilderness, and watching the wildlife in the forest or even parks. Though you won't see her picking flowers or messing with nature, as she adores what naturally can grow within the earth's soil.

She isn't very physically fit, and has a weak constitution. As she is generally nervous and easily frightened, she can get into coughing fits from the stress alone. She always wears sunflowers on her so that she can breathe a calming scent to soothe her nerves in case nobody's around to cheer her up. Her coughing, unfortunately, makes it very difficult to get much in the way of speaking out of her, so she doesn't always do well in exceedingly tense situations or anywhere where she feels frightened or traumatized unless she's with someone she trusts.

If there's one thing she's determined to find above all others, however, it is the truth. Juniper, believing that the truth always should come before 'the end justifies the means', is adamant about doing what she can. Because of this, she dislikes it when people lie or deceive others for their own personal gains. She can at least understand when people do so to cover for others since she can't really speak for herself on the matter, having lied for Hugh to keep him from falling under suspicion of a crime. In a world where many new law students are trying to justify their trial wins by forging evidence, Juniper is seeking to help dispel this and show that the truth is more important.

Juniper's motivations center around her friends and the truth, though when it comes to a decision between the two she will tend to choose friends, though this has been shown to be questioned as she told on one of her best friends for presumably paying money for good grades, which she deemed much more important than admitting to him that she knew, though she felt extremely bad for it and refused to admit it to Athena later (who was trying to defend her in court).

Overall, Juniper is someone that's fueled by friendship and will do what she can to help her friends when necessary, though she won't go too terribly far if things are getting well out of hand. She might rely on her friends to keep herself going sometimes, but she can put on a brave face when necessary and stick it through to the end.

[The video starts up showing tiny Pokemon - five baby Bulbasaurs, to be exact. The video swings around to a beaming Juniper.]

Hello, everyone! It finally happened; the clutch of eggs that my friend and I's Ivysaurs laid a couple of weeks ago hatched! [Her own Ivysaur is bounding along happily at the sight.] I know I could have hatched them individually, but I wanted them to hatch alongside one another and grow strong sibling bonds, and be with at least one of their parents. [Sadly, only having six slots in a team...]

I wanted to know if anyone was interested in a baby Bulbasaur? These are all ready to go to a new home, if anyone would like one. Having traveled with one since I started here, I can say they're very good friends to have along. [Her Ivysaur has helped her so much when she's gotten into trouble... well, all of her Pokemon have, but her Ivysaur has of course been with her the longest.]

For now, I'm going to bring them along with me and let them explore the world some. They need to be able to learn and be protected, so I don't want to release them to the wild yet even if no takers pop up.

Of course, if anyone wants one now, I'll happily initiate the trade. So do let me know if you'd like one, alright?

Take care, everyone. [She waves and the video ends.]

    Character
    Name: Min-Gi Park
    Series: Infinity Train
    Timeline: Post-Book 4
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki Link!

    Personality:

Min-Gi grew up in Powell Lake, Canada. He is the only child of parents who emigrated from Korea, and while they clearly care about him, he has always felt the weight of their expectations on him. Although his dream is to be a rock star alongside his best friend Ryan, they want him to go to university to study finance. He is reluctantly allowed to indulge in playing the stylophone growing up, but even as a very young child it is obvious they would prefer him to be playing his viola. The older he gets the more clearly they disapprove of it, seeing it as a toy that it's past time he put away.

At the start of the series, Min-Gi is stagnant. He had planned to go on tour with Ryan once they graduated high school, but balks at the last minute once he realised just how close they were to leaving. In fairness to Min, he was only given a week of notice before they were due to go. Working against him is the fact he literally ran away rather than have to discuss his concerns with this plan. Ryan leaves to pursue their shared dream alone, and in the months that follow his path forward is decided for him. He finds a job he hates, gets into university when he'd rather not, and is all set to go ahead with that career in finance. He never once voices his reservations about this, just goes along with it, occasionally procrastinating on things like application forms until he is successfully nagged into it. He resorts to only playing his stylophone, the one thing that seems to make him happy, in the privacy of his work bathroom while he's on break. The rest of the time he goes about his life as expected, pretending to be okay with things when he very much isn't.

Min is extremely bad at voicing his needs. Not wanting to disappoint anyone, he will instead keep things to himself until he reaches breaking point. He's panicked and abandoned Ryan before a show twice rather than just talk to him about his worries. Prior to that he used excuses to put him off entering them in any actual shows. Min has a lot of anxieties about failure, especially when it comes to living his dreams. He can't envision a world where two Asian guys from BC can become big successes, and a large part of him would rather not even try than put in the effort and risk failing.

Conversely for someone with so many fears, he has a tendency to believe he's always right. In the first episode he tries to correct Ryan about which booth they sat in when they were in middle school, a minor detail that he's actually the one misremembering. While he criticises Ryan for his childishness, Ryan takes issue with Min acting like he knows more than he does. They are both trapped on the train to learn their own lessons, but Min-Gi can't accept that at first.

For context, the train only appears to those who are dealing with major difficulties in their lives. Passengers are assigned numbers depending on how much they need to work through. Until the number goes down to zero, that passenger is unable to leave. Ryan and Min are both assigned the number 202. Ryan is the first of the two to make progress, and seeing their number go down as he learns to slow down and do things the proper way... Min makes the assumption that means they are both there because of Ryan, and he wasn't meant to be on the train in the first place. It takes seeing an actual skeleton to see that it isn't only Ryan's impulsiveness that is keeping them there. His own unwillingness to press forward unless he is completely sure of the answer is also something he needs to work on, or else he could die before ever making it home. Although he instantly admits he'd been wrong when he sees it for himself, prior to that he had been extremely obnoxious in reminding Ryan that it's him who needs to work on self-improvement.

Thanks to his time on the train, Min is working through those faults. He isn't as dismissive as he used to be, and has pushed aside his fear of failure enough to go on tour with Ryan. He seems confident and at ease when we do finally see him on stage, a far cry from the Min we'd seen pre-performance before then. Sure they aren't the biggest band in the world. The performance we see them do together at the end is at an open mic club where hardly any of the audience pays them attention, but that doesn't matter. He's learned that so long as he can make music with his best friend then he can be happy.

Of course, Min-Gi also has positive traits that have always been there. His cautiousness can be helpful when he doesn't let it stop him entirely. He will think things through before rushing head first into a situation, preferring to have a plan to try and avoid mistakes. Min has a logical mind, and likes to look at the whole of things rather than picking and choosing parts to focus on. Although it was Ryan who escaped the art gallery car first, it was because he remembered Min teasing him about needing to appreciate things in their entirety he is able to see the door. While Ryan helps push Min outside of his comfort zone, Min helps keep Ryan more grounded. Min is far more likely to take the obvious approach if one is there, not trying to look for hidden meanings or come up with complicated plans when they aren't needed.

He also has an empathetic side. Min shows on many occasions that he cares deeply about others. He comforts their friend Kez about being the unintentional cause of a passenger who had chosen to become a permanent resident finding his exit for the train. He listens to her story, and helps her realise that she hadn't messed up. She had actually helped him come to terms with an event that had been highly traumatic. When Ryan admits to him that he had already had his exit appear and had thought about taking it, Min reassures him that everyone has bad thoughts, and what's important was that he didn't abandon him. In turn, when his own door appears sans Ryan's he refuses to take it alone.

    Name: Asa Mitaka
    Series: Chainsaw Man
    Timeline: chapter 101
    Canon Resource Links: here

    Personality:

Asa is generally quiet and tends to seem unsociable due to her always hanging out alone and deliberatly keeping potential "friends" at body length. We see her throughout her introduction always judging and bitterly nitpicking what others are doing wrong or what she finds annoying in her head: for example, hanging out in the bathroom (not the place for that!), taking up the entire hallway to walk side by side (in the way!) or couples publicly showing affection (she wants them to drop dead!). After being called out by the class' pet devil (that they kept and refused to kill) to come and play with everyone, Asa expresses genuine surprise for the first time that someone even remembered her full name. She realizes that she had simply been jealous of everyone having friends. She came out of her shell a bit, was starting to laugh and let herself go, and have fun—

Until she tripped and eviscerated Bucky with her own clumsy weight in front of the entire class.

Things get a little more difficult in school, after that. Asa becomes a honed target for bullying to the point that she doesn't want to show her face or even go back. Things take an unexpected turn the day Asa dies: in the street, in the middle of the night, her head cut in half because of the class president's jealousy that the teacher liked her more than the student he was sleeping with— and the confession of the class president's sabotaging to have Asa trip on Bucky on purpose.

Seconds before Asa's murder, she wishes she could have lived a more selfish life. She gets her second chance through the War Devil's possession of her body, and while she still prefers things done the right way (with her heart in the right place), she's still timid, shy and easily flustered. She's socially cautious about making friends due to the bullying she's suffered but isn't completely immune to people genuinely trying to be her friend. One change that's gradually noticed after her second chance at life is that she's beginning to speak up more— speak her mind or stand up to an idea she dislikes, and continues to get better at it.

    Character
    Name: Naeva Dos Martos
    Series: Original
Timeline: One Year after her wedding.

Original Character Background: A note to start: Naeva’s setting and background are fairly dark fantasy in nature and genre, but because this app is in public comments, I have tried my best to phrase things delicately.

Additionally, Naeva was an undead shapeshifter with massive magical powers. Obviously, none of this carries over, but I would like to personally request two very silly things: one, that her eyes are reflective and dilate much like a jackal's would, and two, that her vocal cords remain able to properly yip. This is purely for my own amusement.

    - Their world: The world which Naeva comes from is the very picture of renaissance high fantasy–a world with very little in the way of modern technology, but with surprising amounts of magitech that would allow a rudimentary understanding of electronic devices. Communicating over large distances is not strange–but doing it in weird glowy boxes really is. The world is magic-rich, and even moreso when it comes to Naeva, as her story sits in the crux of a curse and cold war between two exceedingly magical places.

The first is the Golden Empire, who’s original name has long since lost. During it’s founding, the God-King Hadrianus and his wife, the Witch of the Forge, created a magical Throne which tapped into a leyline of divine power, and thus passed judgment on all who claimed rulership after Hadrianus. The Throne chooses the Empire’s successor, turning their hair gold, and if none of the royal family is worthy, it will select someone who is. However, a Chair’s ideas of what makes a good ruler are not always what makes a good person, and over centuries expansionist rulers have grown the Golden Empire to cover half a continent, to the displeasure of the non-human species who’s lands were taken. This was before the Throne was corrupted by an Emperor’s insanity and eventually fate as an undead fascist (We’ll get to that in the history section).

The other notable location and culture is Schwarzwald, a literal living forest grown as a seal to imprison malice-born monsters at a very well of magic itself. Schwarzwald is a forest so dense the plant and animal life beneath the canopy have developed to be bioluminescent. The magic is so dense within the forest that people who go in human sometimes don’t come back that way, leading us to speak on the Nightkin, Naeva’s own species. The nightkin are a species of shapeshifters, coming in a grand variety of different forms, and are usually nocturnal, but for a few exceptions (Bird nightkin, Skykin, are rare but almost always diurnal). Furthermore, among the Nightkin is a phenomena known as ‘Witches’--a person of any gender who’s magic follows different rules, imposing their will over reality according to the restriction of their domain. The Witch of Truth may speak things into existence, but may never lie herself, whereas the Witch of Justice can sense the sins of others–and may go berserk if nothing is done. Of these, the queens of Schwarzwald have always been Witches, passing a domain over living things from mother to daughter, to help manage the health of the forest itself.

Queens, as well as all others, who disrespect the forest and it’s boundaries, are never seen again.

    - Their history (OCs and customizable/silent protagonists): Around a hundred and ten years ago, the Golden Empire and Schwarzwald were at war. The forest itself rejected the Throne’s influence, and the Empire demanded retribution for settlers who died or became Nightkin when they entered the wood. In an effort to bring peace and let the forest exist as a protectorate and soothe the Emperor’s wounded pride, an arranged marriage was proposed between Emperor Florian and the Queen, Lucrezia dos Martos. But Florian refused to meet his bride in person, and sent his best night, and well…

A son was born, and smuggled away with his father. A few years after, twins were born–but Florian discovered the infidelity and in his rage, cursed them to be stillborn. Lucrezia, mad with grief, laid her own, terrible curse upon Florian, turning his beauty into rot. The competing magic cracked and corrupted both the Throne and the Forest, and was made yet worse when Lucrezia did the forbidden–and sacrificed her heart and her people to bring her children back to life.

Naeva was one of those twins. For the next 100 years, Naeva and her brother struggled to contain Lucrezia’s corruption and the cruel experiments their mother committed, never leaving the forest and never meeting their father, who was struggling to keep the Empire from collapsing–or igniting a total war. Over the course of a century, Naeva managed to keep the amount of horrifying monsters released by her mother to a minimum, but eventually, was forced to put Lucrezia out of her suffering.

Upon Lucrezia’s death, Naeva set about trying to solve the curses plaguing both kingdoms, and reached out to the heir of the Empire–if a broken marriage had torn these kingdom apart, then a marriage–for peace, and to cleanse the corruption–was the only solution she could think of. Lucien agreed, and met her in Schwarzwald to begin a pilgrimage to places of magic, racing to repair them before the Throne killed them both attempting to protect itself. After one year, they succeeded, and needed only to repair the throne.

Only to be attacked by the shambling lich remains of Emperor Florian, and locked in a waking dream by the Throne attempting to keep them alive and out of Florian’s hands.

And then when he was defeated, they were ambushed by the founding gods of their kingdoms at the wedding reception.

In all honesty, the birth of Naeva and Lucien’s son six months after the wedding was probably easier than anything else.

Due to the curses, Naeva grew up with rather less knowledge about being a Queen than she should have, but quite a lot of knowledge on how to survive out in the Woods, especially when the Woods are a semi-homicidal sentient hive mind of angry magic trees, but a normal forest will probably also be fine. She also has a strong background in hand-to-hand combat, though this is hopefully much less relevant to a pokemon game unless Arceus has a real bad day. Isolated from most people, Naeva's companions were usually beasts, magical and mundane, and while her ability to speak to animals is gone and likely would not work on pokemon to begin with, she still has a century of experience making friends with just about every creature she's ever met. As it turns out, animals don't much care when you're awkward, and strangely do like it when you knit them cute hats for winter.

    Personality:
Naeva is a deeply compassionate and empathetic individual, and makes an active effort not to judge others for value systems that differ from her own. Keenly believing that even beings deemed as ‘monsters’ have value to them, Naeva has spent nearly a century, from the day she was old enough to read onward, dedicated to the cause of saving her people. Isolated within the forest, working to save her people, Naeva had very few companions and became intensely lonely. Thus, for those who manage to get close enough to her that she feels secure enough to relax, they find that Naeva seems an entirely different person. Affection, empathetic and extremely optimistic, Naeva is a daydreamer who gets easily excited and even more easily flustered, loyal and invested in friendships to the point of being meddlesome. Her maternal instincts cannot and will not be contained.

Despite this disparity between her public and private personas, Naeva’s actions are motivated deeply by her sense of duty to her crown and love for her people. She feels as though it is her responsibility to undo the terrible doom her mother brought upon both the Black Forest and the people of the empire, and is willing to sacrifice all she calls her own in pursuing that duty. Naeva allows herself no sense of regret or bitterness, not for her abandoned dreams, nor for having to slay her own mother, for she knows she must bear all this for the sake of her people. This stoicism remains a hard rule around those unfamiliar to her, but can and has been cracked, as she is very easily teased and flustered by people she cares about–a fact her husband uses frequently to his advantage.

At her canon point, Naeva still maintains her decorum in public, but with the curse broken and the birth of her son, she is more willing to open up to those around her, and even more likely to reach out to those she thinks are suffering. Naeva went through one hundred years of sorrow and loneliness, and cannot stand for even a second to let someone else suffer alone. However, she still retains her resting bitch face, which does make her intentions a little difficult for people to discern.

Affiliation: I would like to start as a Breeder!
Starter: I would very much like for Naeva to have a Riolu, as she used to be a jackal shapeshifter. Naeva as a person is very much concerned with fairness and justice, and I feel as though a Riolu raised from a breeder (for contests, even if they're not a mechanic in game, she's still putting a bow tie on that pokemon) would be an excellent partner to someone who is largely only going to get into combat on the behalf of others.

Of course, if Riolu is not possible, I would like her to start with Absol. She’d feel a deep spiritual connection to them, and I think a single-evolution start works just fine for a breeder.

    Name: Lucius Quintus Modestus
    Series: Thermae Romae Novae
    Timeline: Post Episode 11
Canon Resource Links: Wikipedia article for Thermae Romae (the series wiki isn't updated for the 2022 anime)
Personality: Lucius is a man who carries the yoke of duty and legacy with him at all times. For him, the benefits that his work brings for both the Roman people and the world in general are beyond words, and he is a true believer in the healing powers that baths can bring to both the body and soul. Both his father and grandfather had spent their entire lives as Thermae (bathhouse) Builders, with his father even losing his life to a building accident in doing so, and Lucius carries on their passion for the craft in his career as a Thermae Architect.

Despite his relatively unassuming occupation Lucius' travels have seen him develop a formidable arsenal of skills. Having spent years working in conflict areas, he was trained in many of the disciplines used by the Roman Legion. He has shown himself to quite capable with both unarmed combat and the use of sword and shield, as well as demonstrating remarkable talent with a bow. He's a capable artist and has a near-uncanny ability to dissasemble and replicate things he sees in his mind, recreating even advanced machinery with little more than a moment to study it. This formidable mixture of skills is largely restrained by Lucius' humility however.

Lucius is a true worker bee, and the more he succeeded in his work the more he lost his balance in the realm of work/life. For much of his career he unintentionally neglected his responsibilities on the homefront as well as his relationship with his wife Livia, causing a wedge to form between them. Thankfully, though, this rift was able to be mended by Emperor Hadrian's intervention. Apologizing for his near-constant monopolizing of her husband's talents, he explained all the good that the Thermae had helped to sew across the empire and promised to Lucius that he would be given the time he needed to repair his home life. Since then, though the Emperor's health has been in decline, Lucius and Livia have been able to grow closer together once more and work towards building a family.

Though he possesses a level of rigidity and prickliness over anything he considers to go against Roman values he is generally affable and helpful, willing to go above and beyond to help his fellow man and ready to see the good in even the most irredeemable of people. Brushing shoulders with everything from bandits to monarchs means that Lucius has grown quite capable in getting a read on those he meets (as well as being able to give voice to his opinions on those people should the situation need it) but even his most hot-blooded moments are still tempered by his good nature and willingness to give his time to others.

[Lucius’ eyes open, but the ceiling that greets them is very different from the one that he should be seeing. Sitting-up quickly he takes-in his surroundings and is surprised to find himself in a relatively ordinary modern bedroom.]

Am I back in the other world? How strange. Normally I seem to enter through baths…

[Before he can ponder any further the door to the room opens a crack and a woman pokes her head in to tell him to hurry up. Confused but acquiescent, Lucius gets himself up and meanders out of the room.]

Wait a minute. I can understand you!

[Unaffected by Lucius’ surprise, though, the friendly-looking lady simply handed him a bag and masterfully scooted him out the front door, giving him well-wishes and farewells all the while.

As the door closed behind him Lucius was more lost than he’d been from any of his previous visits to other worlds. How could he understand what people were saying now? Had he crossed-over enough times to learn their ways without realizing it? Why hadn’t he emerged in a bath like in his previous visits? How would he- wait… is there music playing?

Looking around to try to find the source of the music only causes him further surprise however, as he soon spots a gaggle of small round creatures waiting by the side of the doorway. They seemed to resemble tiny little Legionaries, odd as that was, and seemed to have their attention fixed squarely on him.]

Uh… Salve. May I… help you?

    Character
    Name: Ryou Bakura
    Series: Yu-Gi-Oh!
Timeline: Immediately post Dark Side of Dimensions
    Canon Resource Links: Here!

Personality: On a basic level, Ryou is a sweet, kind hearted guy who cares deeply for his friends and kept letting himself be possessed by the spirit of the Millennium Ring for far longer than he should have. And all that is true, but it's a very surface level view of him.

Ryou is very genuinely a nice guy at heart, caring immensely for his friends and family. In fact, he cares about them to an almost self sacrificial level, putting their needs ahead of his own if he thinks that's what he has to do. Examples of this range anywhere from moving out on his own to prevent any more people close to him from going into the mysterious comas that had been happening at the time, to claiming he was fine with being left out of the Memory World trip after being told he was Too Evil To Go (he wasn't fine and ran away crying, not to mention that it was the presence of the Ring that got him deemed Too Evil To Go), to sacrificing his own soul in a last ditch effort to stop the Ring Spirit from killing his friends (he got better, but had no idea he would come back from that at the time). This level of caring also leads him to write letters to his dead sister, telling her about his life and how he's been doing.

Tying into this, he's rather determined, putting up quite the fight against the Ring Spirit in his intro despite being possessed and largely unable to stop the spirit from trying to steal the souls/kill off his new friends via a heavily rigged TTRPG game. This fight included using what little control he had to fudge several dice rolls in favour of his friends and type out a message to the spirit on his laptop just to tell him that he's fighting too, and ultimately escalated to the last ditch effort of sacrificing his own soul to stop the spirit.

With all this, you'd think Ryou is the straightforward angel to the Ring Spirit's devil, but that's not quite true. Ryou has a mischievous/trollish streak just under the surface, which comes out during the Battle City arc when he tries to get his friend Jonouchi to look at his occult themed Duel Monsters deck despite knowing that Jonouchi was afraid of the supernatural. This streak came out again at the end of the arc when he helped Mai briefly fake her own death as a prank, with Ryou finding the whole thing funny when the 'death' was revealed to be a prank. He's also got a strong interest in the weird/creepy/occult, building the aforementioned occult themed Duel Monsters deck for himself with a heavy focus on cards like Dark Necrofear and Spirit Message. Ryou is also notably curious, expressing interest in learning more about the Millennium Items after finding out the Ring was haunted. However, this curiosity also gets him in trouble sometimes, most notably when, as a kid, he followed his father to the tomb the Millennium Ring was being kept in, only to end up being claimed as the Ring Spirit's unwitting host.

This brings us to the Millennium Ring and why Ryou kept it for so long. Part of why he kept it after realizing it was haunted was likely his own curiosity into the Millennium Items, along with his general interest in the occult. But a major influence was likely the Ring Spirit's own manipulations. During the Duelist Kingdom arc, the spirit is shown manipulating Ryou into putting the Ring back on by claiming that he'd turned good and knew how to get out of the puzzle Ryou and his friends were currently stuck in. Ryou, wanting to help, chose to put the Ring back on, despite distrust in the Spirit at the time. This paved the way for the spirit to further manipulate Ryou, hiding his true actions in the memory lapses the possessions caused so Ryou would think the spirit really had turned good. Obviously, this was all untrue, and the spirit was as evil as ever with Ryou once more the unwitting host.

However, by the events of Dark Side of Dimensions, Ryou is now permanently freed from the Ring and seems aware of the spirit's true nature, as shown when he desperately tries to explain to Aigami that the spirit's actions weren't his own. He also seems to have some degree of guilt for the Ring Spirit's actions, as despite trying to explain what happened to Aigami, he ends up tearfully apologizing anyways. His confrontation with Aigami also reveals that Ryou apparently buried his memory of when he first got the Ring as a child and didn't want to remember it, forcing Aigami to make Ryou (painfully) recall what happened that day.

All in all, Ryou is a very unfortunate young man who manages to stay the polite, kindhearted guy he is despite everything that happens to him in canon.

    Name: Zuke

    Zuke’s page

    Personality:

Zuke's general demeanor is to be self-possessed, polite, and rational. All of which is a stark contrast to his partner, Mayday. So Zuke's attitude is often gentle and soft spoken, trying to be sensible rather than walk into something hot-headed. This makes him very easy to talk to. He's a good guy who would ride or die for his loved ones.. You can always expect him to come up with logic and reason to try to worm out of problems. Water off his back. He is the sea, the ocean waves. Zuke being a friend is being a comforting presence: let's go for burgers and chill.

His fuse is so long that it's hard to agitate him to the point he even raises his voice at you. Unless if you obviously hurt people he loves or others in general.

Zuke is a graduate and holds a Masters of Fine Arts and Music because he's very passionate about the art world as well as he is very much skilled. He enjoys working with his hands and playing music while harboring a true fascination with old technology and traditional instruments. Skill wise, he's very good at machines, computers and even welding. There is a real passion for playing the drums, ever since he was a child and had an old traditional beat drum. He doesn't even want the fame or money, he just wants to do what he loves best. Expanding his mind, enjoying soothing activities, and learning new things is always a plus for him; wanna build this jigsaw puzzle with him that looks like the stars and do some meditating? He digs quiet leisure fun, making him rather introverted in the long run. But what you see is what you get, for the most part...

The downside to being that calm and collected has a lot of drawbacks when it comes to his personal life. His view on life is incredibly passive, and he won't raise a stink unless if he has evidence to believe he should bring the spotlight to himself. This makes him really shrink to the background often and doesn't take being thrown on to the spot very well. He would clam up and stutter when that happens. While he's better about this now than in his college years, he could tend to be walked over by people in situations as he used to let his ex-girlfriend do this to him until it bubbled over (or in this case, literally set him on fire). In general, he's cool with the louder people speaking up as he supports them. But of course, people who say nothing and let things happen tend to bottle things up. That goes for most trauma and frustrations. Zuke dislikes confrontations and arguments, and will try to slink out of drama and trouble with silence and calm rationale. If there is an issue that isn't resolved and doesn't get better over time, Zuke holds it personally and could hide away from it. This was evident in his long feud with his older rapper brother, DK West. The torment and resentment he got from him during his younger years frustrated himself into being passive and wanting to keep the peace. Until there wasn’t any, and his inward frustration could no longer take it. When that happens, mistakes happen. In which case he shockingly eventually disowned his brother and ran away no contact from his ex.

While at the end of the game, he came clean with some of his mistakes he made with this (comforted his ex and talked it out, and reconciled with his brother), this is a bad habit to break and be aware of it.

It was getting late, Zuke thought as he held the freshly made malasada in his maw. He wanted to check up on the secured Egg he held in his pack before deciding to find a place to crash for the night. As well as check his supplies. He turned to look at Terbangan, his Grookey partner, who was just finished gobbling up his treat. Zuke couldn't help but smile and shake his head at the guy, "You're going to get a stomachache there but I guess you'd think it was worth it, huh? We were lucky to get the last of the last fresh batch of the day. Come on then, let's head out."

The two would follow the trail out of town, passing a few dumpsters, when a crashing noise boomed at them. This unexpected detour of their evening sent Terbangan into high alert, "Keeeee!!". He screeched as he got his stick ready, aiming to defend his partner. "Easy, easy...look," Zuke's calm voice rang out as a purple bundle rolled out of the trash heap. It was a Toxel, Zuke silently concluded as the small Pokémon went into a sudden fit of tears.

That...wasn't okay. Zuke stepped forward softly, "Hey...hey little guy, it's oka-"

The Toxel saw this as a threat, as it started to buzz a small dose of electricity. Terbangan was ready to attack, rallying his stick to strike. "Whoa, whoa! Cool it, cool it, little man." Zuke did NOT want a Pokémon battle to start when unprovoked. He remembered he still had his malasada, which only had the one bite out of due to business. Idea.

"Hey buddy, you hungry? Here, take it."

Zuke diplomatically tossed the pastry the Toxel's way, which it took immediately and began to shove in its face. Calmed down now, it made a small grumble of pleasure. "Ah, see? There we go. That's better, eh?"

A sigh of relief and a grunt of joy was in the air both at once.

Zuke's eyes then went to the tin bucket in the trash, another idea.

"Need a dinner and a show? Here, call it a peace jam," said Zuke as his Grookey friend caught on immediately. Jam session impromptu, easy peasy fun for all. Zuke jammed on the pail with his palm, Terbangan following with his drumming stick. As the beats filled the air, the Toxel raised its arms with glee.

Instead these traits are funneled towards standing up for his friends or bringing attention to the elephant in any given room when noone else seems willing to do so. His fighting skill and indomitable spirit have helped him protect his friends in situations when the odds seemed insurmountable and, though a goofball through-and-through, he has a core harder than diamond. Many a villain has underestimated him and, whether through physical strength or through spiritual resolve, been made to regret it. Through his travels he's often come in contact with the supernatural or extra ordinary and, though he lacks the abilities and resources of many within these situations, he more than makes up for these shortcomings through an uncannily good luck. Whether dice, coins, machines, or cards he consistanntly defies the odds, and this has enabled him to come out on top in many situations that would otherwise have spelled his undoing.

Joey had a rough start of things in life, coming from a broken home and an uncaring father, and it led him to fall in with the wrong crowd. From joining gangs to petty bullying Joey spent years as a through-and-through delinquent, but was given a change to turn things around when he made friends with his classmate Yugi. Though their relationship began as an antagonistic one Yugi's selflessness and vulnerability showed Joey that he didn't need to put up shields around himself endlessly, and that there were other ways to work through your problems than by lashing out at the world.

Since giving up his delinquent ways Joey has become part of a close-knit group of friends, and this has seen tremendous improvements to his mental state and familial relationship. Though he was never shown to outright struggle in school Joey was never someone who would be considered to be of a studious nature or a likely candidate for becoming an honor student. Despite this, upon deciding that he wanted to truly immerse himself in the game of Duel Monsters he applied himself rigorously to the lessons taught to him by Yugi's grandfather. Within a matter of months his skills had grown to make him a match for champion duelists and professional player eliminators, allowing him to secure a position as the runner-up in what was then the world's largest Duel Monsters Tournament. These skills also allowed him to secure funds for his sister to undergo life-changing surgery, and helped to mend the rift between him and his mother as well as galvinizing in his mind that Duel Monsters was what he wanted to do for a living. He would only continue to grow in skill and in character as his friends engaged in ever-more dangerous and world-threatening events, learning more and more with every step the kind of man he wanted to become.

This certainly doesn't looks like the room he went to sleep in but, then again, he has more experience with finding himself in weird situations than most people so who knows. Maybe Tristan is pulling a prank or something, or maybe the gang is in for another batch of save-the-world bingo. The appearance of a woman he's never met before popping her head into the room has him leaning towards the latter though, especially when she starts telling him to hurry up like he should've already known that.]

    Da heck...

[He rolls himself out of the bed and looks around to see if he's left anything behind in the wake of his sleeping. All things looking as together as can be expected, he heads downstairs to talk to the woman.]

    So, uh, where exactly is-

[Before he can finish his sentence the woman puts a bag into his hands and ushers him out the door, big smile on her face, and shuts the door behind him.]

    Uh...

[Joey just stands there dumbfounded for a moment before snapping back to reality.]

    Oh hey! Goodies!

[He digs through the bag, checking out the camping supplies and boxed lunch before finding the Pokegear.]

    Name: Varian
    Series: Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure
    Timeline: Post-"Plus Est En Vous"
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki Link

    Personality:
Varian is a gifted boy. He's intelligent and extroverted, and highly gifted in the field of alchemy as well as general mechanics in a form that is very advanced for his time period. He's eager, in everything he does, but particularly when it comes to doing things that he hopes make his father proud. He's very insecure about whether or not his father takes pride in him. In fact, his relationship with Quirin is a huge factor in most aspects of his life. When Varian's own mistakes lead to Quirin getting encased in magical amber, and he was unable to get the help he sought from Rapunzel and the rest of the kingdom of Corona-- Well, things went south, to the point where Varian's increasingly desperate attempts to free his father left him the main villain of the first season. ...He got better, but more on all of that later.

Varian can be cocky. He makes unsafe assumptions while working on his inventions. This is also in part due to his eagerness, once again, to prove that he's good at what he does. For all Varian's cleverness and willingness to socialize, he tends to overlook basic things in both his inventions and his social interactions. Socially, Varian also sometimes gets too excited. He gets excited about things in general, very much so, but the socially he comes on very strong and can get too caught up the potential for science and/or a new friend to rein in his exuberance. The mistakes and miscalculations he makes in his hurry to execute his inventions and help Old Corona village, are also at times made in his haste to make a good impression. That said, after Varian's season 1 villain arc and eventual redemption in season 3, he's gotten better at thinking things through! He's still got shortcomings there, mostly because he's still a teenager, but there are definitely times he has to be the voice of reason among the main cast in that third season.

Now, as far as that villain arc goes: Varian isn't always emotionally stable. When the whole "Quirin trapped in amber" thing happened, he went to Rapunzel for help, turning not just to his homeland's princess, but to a friend. When Rapunzel couldn't take the time to address the situation right away - justifiably, as all of Corona was in serious danger at the time - Varian... Well, he didn't really know how to process that besides as a betrayal. Between the guilt he felt about causing his father's predicament, his complicated relationship with Quirin to begin with, and the fact that he'd probably never had friends before Rapunzel and the gang? It's not surprising that he took it badly, though "unsurprising" doesn't mean "valid".

Also, Varian went a little further than "taking it badly," in all honesty. His attempts to right the perceived injustice were criminal and ruthless. He didn't care who got hurt if it would reunite his family, and this was doubly true as he became increasingly unhinged in the face of his seeming failure to rescue Quirin, and decided that if he couldn't have a family, he could at least have revenge. Varian was stopped and imprisoned for around a year, and evidentially in that time he did come to gain perspective and feel regret, to a degree. Once he escaped prison with the help of other enemies of Corona, who he then teamed up with, a big part of his motive was erasing his mistakes... By literally erasing the memories of his actions for the people of Corona. Ultimately, Rapunzel got through to him and the kid decided he didn't want to continue down the path he was on-- and Quirin was shortly after freed from the amber, which went a long way towards bringing Varian further stability.

He definitely learned a lesson about the kind of person he wanted to be, and didn't want to be, as seen when he tries to talk Cassandra to her senses when she takes on the role of villain later on. Everything he'd gone through left an impact. That said, Varian still has a temper, one that particular flares around issues regarding his father: Namely, when it's realized that Quirin might be a risk to the heroes in the series finale. He doesn't want to talk about it, although it's worth nothing he does come up with a plan for that possibility to keep on the back burner.

Varian can be a goofball, making jokes and doing things like turning his experiments into "sporting events" complete with his own running commentary. He's a good friend, who likes to be helpful and who always tries his best to be understanding of others. He gives everything he does 100% of his efforts. He's very curious about the world around him and loves to learn.

Ultimately, Varian wants to be seen as helpful, even impressive... But mostly just trustworthy and worthwhile. Sure, it takes him a while to find his way towards that, but he does get there in the end! At the age of just sixteen he ends up the Royal Engineer of Corona.

    Character
    Name: Super Sonico
    Series: Super Sonico: The Animation
Timeline: End of episode 12 (the end)
Canon Resource Links: there's the episode guide for the anime and her wiki

Personality: Sonico is a very cheerful girl, usually happy go lucky and enjoys all the little things in life. She uses most of her time either in school, working as a model or at her grandma’s bar, or she spends time with her bandmates, which also are her best friends, Suzu, and Fuuri. When she's not busy, she's at home, with her five cats.

Sonico wants to be a marine biologist in the future, so she's studying the courses needed for it at university. Sadly, her courses are mostly during the morning, and she's not a morning person at all. It's so bad that she can't wake up most mornings. So she sets up four different alarms, and her cats always wake her up asking for breakfast, and yet, she still manages to be late.

She tends to be a bit clumsy when doing things she's not used to, or doing them early in the morning. Like getting the correct classroom when going to class. She tends to do really well in photoshoots, always concentrated in what the photographer tells her to do. When she’s not under the camera’s watch, she ends up not knowing what to do. Sonico is also a very shy girl, even though she models mostly naked all the time. She isn’t good at talking to people, or making herself be heard or noticed with her voice.

That is, unless she’s singing. Sonico is the guitarist and singer to her band, First Astronomical Velocity, and alongside Fuuri and Suzu, they host concerts and shows for their faithful fans. Sonico gains fans everywhere she goes, thanks to her calm nature and comfort around others. Everyone she’s met in her life ends up listening to her sing.

Sonico can be really naive at times. She’s the kind of girl who likes doing things for others, so when someone wants her to do something that’s a bit too skeevy or lewd, she doesn’t really realize it until someone else points it out. She’s still a kind person though, so even when she does realize what’s going on, she still tries to help out the people that asked for her, whether it is help, or a photographer.

She’s a helper, more than anything else. Sonico likes to help people, she wants to make sure the people she meets are happy and have everything they want. She also likes to help animals, like the little cat she found one day, and even though she loves cats, she made sure it went to its family. She tends to overextend herself sometimes, and even though she wants to do everything herself, she ends up relying on her friends to help her.

As busy as she always is, Sonico always makes time for family. She helps out her grandma with her bar whenever she can. Her grandma is a great inspiration for Sonico, because she taught her how to play the guitar, and also how to be confident no matter what. Sonico is always working in her confidence, but she still thanks her grandma for it.

Most people in Sonico’s life teach her something, or inspire her in some way. Her friends always make her happy, and she does everything in her power to do anything for them. Even if it’s weird, like fighting zombies. It’s not only with her friends though, she has inspired her manager, a fellow model, and more than anything, her fans. She taught a writer to never give up on her dreams, all while just telling her about her own dreams.

Sonico’s favourite food is macarons, and she would eat them all the time if she could, but as a model, she has to make sure to be in a good shape at all times. Which she tends to keep by walking and biking anywhere she can. Her clumsiness does get in the way sometimes though, as she almost runs over people on her bicycle when she’s going without looking.

Even though her life is busy and crazy, Sonico always finds time to update her social media, sometimes making mistakes when she doesn’t notice what she writes. Sonico loves what she does, being a model, and a singer, and a guitarist, and she wants to do it forever. She loves the work she does, and she knows it's too difficult for her to keep doing it all. She also knows it’s going to be difficult when she graduates and becomes a marine biologist, but she’s always going to do her best!

One little note! Her headphones are part of her, and they... Don't really matter. Sonico will always ignore everything and anything said about them, but whenever they're pointed out, the person who does it feels inexplicable dread.

Also she has a sentient teacup. There's that. She holds the cup up, and inspects it, it looks like one of those pocket monsters people talk about.]

Are you a monster, little teacup?

[The thing inside the cup lifts up and nods, and Sonico coos at it.]

You're super cute! I'm going to call you Ocha. [A pause.] Now we need to start our adventure, the lady in the house said so at least. Shall we?

[Ocha nods once more, and off they go!]

    Name: Cloud Strife
    Series: Final Fantasy VII
Timeline: Canon point during Crisis Core's final mission in Nibelheim, immediately pre-incident
    Canon Resource Links: here!

Personality: At Cloud's current canon point, he's 16 years old and full of dreams for the future. He desperately wants to become a SOLDIER, but he failed his first attempt and it shattered his already low self-esteem. Still, Cloud is nothing if not stubborn and resilient, and he keeps trying even when his confidence is in the gutter. The same is true of everything he does; he always leaps at the chance to help people out and protect them even if he has little hope of success.

When it comes to his social life, Cloud is awkward and shy, but he's got a snarky streak and is a scrappy little bastard when backed into a corner. Ever since he was a young kid, he's had a bit of an attitude problem and a tendency to get into fights, though it's not that he's particularly aggressive or confrontational; his village hated and shunned him over a traumatic childhood event, and he learned to protect himself by telling himself he didn't want their friendship anyway, so there. On top of that, he's extremely protective by nature and won't hesitate to defend someone he cares about or someone he thinks deserves defending, even when it's a bad idea. His only friend from home, Tifa, says that he's not a people person, and he's willing to admit she's right. He gets self-conscious and flustered easily, and he's prone to getting attached to - or crushing on - people who show him kindness or respect, and people who are badass and heroic. That leads to also being prone to a bit of hero worship when it comes to people he looks up to, but he's never really intimidated by them (or by authority figures in general).

Beneath all the layers of defense mechanisms and terrible self-esteem, though, Cloud is ultimately looking for a place to belong. He wants to fit in and feel useful and be recognized for his accomplishments; it's ingrained in him that he needs to prove he's worthy of others caring about him and regarding him well, and he believes that becoming a military hero and saving people is his path to doing that. Basically, he wants to be the very best, like no one ever was.

    Character
    Name: Valerie "Val" Trout Castillo
Series: Original (she's a Vampire: The Masquerade NPC I made for my current game I'm the storyteller for)
Timeline: After her wife's hand got ripped off by Val's idiot stepson.

Original Character Background: Okay, so I didn't really make up Val's world, so I'm just going to link y'all to the World of Darkness wiki page.

A brief rundown of some very basic concepts in the World of Darkness that we're gonna need for Val's backstory.

-The WoD is basically a grimdark urban fantasy version of the real world, with vampires, mages, fairies, werewolves, etc. I'm ignoring most of the other stuff and focusing on the vampire stuff.
-Most vampires adhere to this concept called the Masquerade, where they make sure the public doesn't know vampires or other supernaturals are real.
-There are three major factions in the modern Western vampire world. The first is the Camarilla, an extremely lawful and bureaucratic vampire government who believes that the Masquerade must be upheld at all costs, and that all vampires must adhere to a rigid hierarchy. Then there's the Anarchs, who rebel against the hierarchy of the Camarilla, but still mostly cling to their humanity and abide by the more common sense rules, like the Masquerade. Finally we've got the Sabbat, a completely batshit insane death cult who rebel entirely against the elder vampires, and who are also preparing for the end of the world when the ancients shall arise from their slumber and eat everyone. Yeah.

Where did vampires come from? No one knows for sure, but this is the leading theory.

Valerie Turner was born in the 1950s as the only child to a set of pretty typical white 1950s parents. She had a WWII vet father who buried himself in his work and did sweet fuck all raising his kid, and a stay at home mom who dealt with her shattered dreams with a fuckton of valium. They also had a pretty rigid set of expectations for their daughter, expectations that Val would chafe at as she grew older. Among them was the fact that Val is one of the biggest lesbians to ever walk upon God's earth, and her parents were chock full of that good old fashioned 1950s homophobia.

Val spent much of her adolescence in a super Christian girl's school, where she frequently skipped classes to do whatever the fuck she wanted, and caused a lot of problems on purpose. When she was 16 her parents had her shipped off to a conversion therapy camp for a bit, so Val set fire to one of the staff buildings and escaped.

Sadly, none of the staff were hurt or killed.

After this, Val continued to skip school and take every opportunity to rebel against her piece of shit parents before she was promptly expelled from school at the age of 17 and tossed into a mental hospital, mostly because that was what you did with marginalized people you didn't want to deal with back then.

She escaped and ran away from home, laying low until she was 18 and there was legally very little her parents could do. Unfortunately there wasn't much a high school dropout with a history like hers could do in terms of careers, so she mostly stuck with low-paying service jobs that she supplemented with petty crime and sex work. But hey, she was surviving, and that was enough.

After a couple of years surviving like this, her parents found her and, in a desperate attempt to assert their control over her, tried to get a court to forcibly take away what autonomy she had.

Val responded by murdering them, but got caught and tossed into yet another mental hospital.

This is where her life ends and simultaneously also takes a dramatic turn, because her doctor was a Malkavian.

Val's doctor, for reasons Val still isn't sure of, turned her into a vampire, then faked her death and brought her into vampire society. Val's city was a Camarilla controlled domain, and she was quickly introduced to the vampire court and introduced to her society.

Not long after, Val also began to have visions of her vampire ancestor Malkav arising from his slumber and eating every one of his descendants. It's not unusual for Malkavians to have premonitions, but just as common is for the Camarilla (at least other clans within the Camarilla) to completely write them off as the ramblings of a madman. Frustrated at this, Val talked to her sire about her visions, and the doctor basically told her to keep them to herself if she wanted to be taken seriously.

This pissed Val off because obviously an ancient vampire awakening to eat everyone is a huge problem.

Frustrated and unsure of where to go, Val's psychic intuition led her to the Sabbat. She asked to join them, and the Sabbat said they'd consider if she proved her conviction by killing her sire.

Her sire was an asshole anyway so she did it, and also drank his blood and devoured his soul.

So the Sabbat let her in.

Sabbat members usually run around in little vampire found families called packs, who are led by a ductus (who guides the pack in secular matters) and a pack priest (who advise in spiritual matters.) Val was a rank and file member in a pack with mostly LGBTQ members for about 20-25 years until she met Dolores, a notorious fighter and Sabbat war hero, at a festival for Sabbat members. Val had been feeling some friction with her pack's leadership for a while, and by the end of the festival her and Dolores had really hit it off, deciding to form a pack together by the time the festival ended.

They gathered together two other members: Billie, a recently turned vampire who was a serial killer in life, Kasia, a and Meathook, a former shovelhead. Dolores served as the ductus for a while, and up until her horrible death that I still haven't fleshed out, Kasia served as the pack's priest.

After about 3 months, Kasia died and Val was the new priest. Her and Dolores were also officially a couple a few months after this.

Then for decades they ran around causing problems for the Camarilla and Anarchs alike. Her pack became pretty infamous for all sorts of murder and other fuckery.

In 2021, Val and her pack traveled to San Antonio to scout ahead of a Sabbat invasion of the city, where they turned a middle aged human financier samed Samantha into a ghoul. Samantha ended up being killed by some Anarchs for political reasons, and a few weeks later, Dolores turned Samantha's son, Nate, into a vampire mostly because she needed a disposable vampire to go around causing problems for the Anarchs.

Which Nate is doing wonderfully, even if he fucking hates Dolores and her pack.

A few weeks after this, Val turned a college student named Aubrey into a vampire, mostly because they needed a fresh set of hands in the pack and they saw some potential in this girl.

After some more packs started to move in on the city, Val and Dolores were involved in an operation to cripple and control the local Nosferatu by kidnapping their ghouls and other  informants. One of these was the best friend of my Nosferatu player, which ended in the rest of the party getting involved in a huge fight with Val's pack. I can't say anyone won, but Dolores' hand got ripped off by a frenzied Nate and Val ended up psychically tormenting three party members with their worst fear.

No one won, both groups went back home to lick their wounds, and Val sent one party member a lot of inflammatory texts for no reason.

Personality: The most important thing about Val is that she always speaks her mind in pretty much every situation, even when what she's thinking is completely bonkers by human standards (and it often is.) this is someone who lives to get a rise out of people and give a proverbial middle finger to anyone she perceives as undeserved authority or part of "the system". She did it when she was alive, and she sure as shit ain't gonna stop now that she's dead. She joined the Sabbat because she wanted to find a freak family that would take her seriously and stick it to the vampire authorities, and Val doesn't really care who gets hurt along the way. While this has some positive sides, such as her calling out a lot of bigoted bullshit, she's also internalized some bullshit herself, such as her not considering humans "people" so much as a source of food and resources. In her mind, sure, maybe she's not always right, but she sure as shit doesn't think she has anything to be ashamed about.

The other thing about Val is that she's a deeply passionate person, about pretty much anything that catches her interest. The problem is that she has very little real capacity to express this in a healthy way. She has a penchant for pranks, but pranks in her view are mostly just code for "absolute bugfuck terror stunts." she loves her wife with the capacity of a thousand suns, but they've both stabbed each other on multiple occasions and Val has openly joked about eating Dolores' vampire son. Of course Dolores also doles out her own sass and stabbings, so maybe these two were made for each other. It's by no means a healthy relationship, but they're happy? Oh my god, Val is absolutely toxic and she's down to trash and burn down everyone who even slightly annoys her.

Despite this high octane toxicity, Val's also got a deeply intellectual side. She speaks four languages, often amuses herself with philosophical debates (even if she absolutely has a smug anime pfp online) and collects texts and relics of vampiric history. She probably would have succeeded academically if she didn't drop out of high school, but I have a feeling that a traditional school environment ain't right for her anyway.

So, what can you expect from Val? If you're not human (or well, formerly not human) and used to high octane weirdness, she might actually be tolerable. Everyone else is gonna wanna get off this wild ride.

Current Characters in Victory Road: Minfilia Warde

    Character
    Name: Fordola Lupis
    Series: Final Fantasy XIV
    Timeline: Post-The Lady of Bliss.
    Canon Resource Links: Fandom;

As a note: Fordola and Minfilia both are from the same canon, but they have not and would not have any reason to interact.

Personality: Fordola, at her current canon point, truly embodies what happens to somebody when they're indoctrinated into the culture of the Garlean Empire. From a young age (after her father was killed by Ala Mhigans), Fordola decided that his ideals - the idea that it was better to join Garlemald then be killed by their own people - were how she would live. That she would rather become one of them then fight with her own people - and that it was better for her people, as well. She holds a single-minded desire to be respected - and to bring Ala Mhigo into the future she sees Garlemald as able to bring it. However, her single-minded loyalty has also eroded her loyalty to her own people - seen as not Ala Mhigan or Garlean.

All of her actions are fueled by but a few princibles. To unite Ala Mhigo under Garlean rule, to be respected, and to have purpose in her life and death. She believes that you cannot bring change without bloodshed, nor will people listen to what is best for them without being the stronger person. She is very, very stubborn, in other words. And hasty, at other times. And lets her anger bubble within, at most times - she is full of hatred, for all the situations she's in. She wants to make the people who've made her suffer pay.

Notably, Fordola is also quite observant. Not quite as observant as when she gets extra abilities a little later on, but she is good at noticing both when people are hiding, and if they're hiding something in their words.

If somebody outranking her, however, commands her to do something? She will barely hesitate. No matter what, she feels that her closest allies and friends would understand why she did anything, up to and including murder. Her life is her path to be what she believes is the best person she can be. (Which, in canon, is a path she needs to discover after she is captured and taken in by the Alliance - but that's not now.)

Oh, also, she's sort-of xenophobic. Not towards people, mind you! But towards the non-humanoid Spoken races of her home world (due to, again, her backstory). She was known not to respect their different cultures - causing issues. Due to everybody being humanized in Victory Road, this will likely come up in situations where heavily intelligent Pokemon are involved.

Victory Road Sample: There were many things that Fordola could have expected. One of them was that she would dream while under. From what little she had studied, people didn't dream while being operated on.

Still. Perhaps it was the stress getting to her. Her failures had made her snap. But if that was the case, there was a lot less hellfire and punishment, and more... work. Part of that work was getting used to the city the base was in - Goldenrod. Busy-work, Fordola assumed, or just something everybody did. She walked with her hands in her pockets, one of them gripping the red and white ball with the creature she'd gotten within. A tool, to do her job. She did not protest getting it, of course. Why bother protesting, when she clearly didn't have a choice?

But - really - a dog with skull-like markings? They were mocking her, weren't they. Figures. The people of this land would mock her, just like everybody else. At least if this land was built on the merit of these cockfights, she wasn't going to get accused of anything untoward.

The other creature she'd gotten also had a skull motif. Perhaps she should lean into it. She'd need a full team of these creatures, she reasoned. Or one of each major element. And she'd need to get them quickly, to be effective.

Perhaps she could prove herself to Team Rocket, and be seen as a loyal member. Then again, this place made Fordola feel quite... prickly.

Perhaps it was because she swore that people had their eyes on her, that they already knew. Quietly pushing her hands deeper into her pockets, Fordola continued to walk forward - before stopping. Ah, somebody in front of her. With a frown, Fordola looked them over.

    "What are you looking at?"

Her thoughts could not be read on her face - no, she seemed almost casual. Well, casually prickly.

    Character
    Name: Machi Tobaye
    Series: Ace Attorney
    Timeline: Post-canon (post AA4)
Canon Resource Links: Wiki ||Case descriptions (The case is GS4 case 3, aka Turnabout Serenade.)

Personality: The 'other half' of Lamiroir--Lamiroir says at one point in the game that she and Machi together are 'Lamiroir,' and in a way this is quite true. Prior to the murder and trial, the two were never separated and had almost a symbiotic relationship--they were always seen together, hand in hand, 'The Siren of the Ballad' and 'the Pixie of the Arpeggio.' He is very devoted to her and still remains so, whether she realises it still or not. On his own, Machi is generally a very smart, gentle boy, but does not do well around people he does not know. In fact, with the exception of Lamiroir (and possibly Daryan), his attitude towards others could best be described as either "indifferent" or "uneasy," depending--at worst, he's actively uncomfortable, visibly nervous and sometimes easily startled; Machi is shy around strangers and hard to get to know because of it. The very first time Apollo meets him, he speaks to Lamiroir in Borginian and excuses himself--she expresses surprise and concern because he would be alone, then explains that Machi "is not good around strangers," and wishes to go out for a breath of fresh air. This sets the tone for all interactions with him to follow--including (or perhaps especially) those in which he is Apollo's client.

Lacking Lamiroir's guidance certainly doesn't help. Despite being fourteen, Machi looks (and in many ways, is) much younger. An exceptionally tiny boy, he's about 4'7" in show heels the heels are canon and weighs at most 80 lbs. His small stature and delayed puberty make him look more like ten than fourteen. But he's somewhat arrested emotionally as well--he was very reliant on Lamiroir in an emotional sense, he still tends to experience his feelings in a childish way: one at a time, instead of the more complex mixed or conflicting emotions that come with maturity. This is especially notable because it stands in such sharp contrast to how jaded his perspective can really be. In many ways, Machi remains a child, but in others, Machi is very much an adult. He's a sharp boy, and though his emotional outlook can be a little simple, he is very, very aware of resource scarcity: money, food... time. Everything is paid for in some way, and no one is more aware of this than Machi Tobaye.

Coming from a world where a lot of people are either fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, Machi is a little bit of both--possibly fifty percent on each side, possibly a little more of one than the other. Either way, he's in significantly more conflict than most and struggles with his actions a lot. Machi sees himself as bad, but refuses to identify himself as such, trying very hard to be the good person Lamiroir wants him to be. He tells lies (a lot) and manipulates others, but is also completely and unnecessarily honest, alternating erratically between the two and creating a very hypocritical (and possibly dangerous) persona in the wake of his conviction. It's not clear whether in his heart Machi is fundamentally bad or good, but it's obvious that whichever of the two manifests depends as much on the people around him as the events he strings together from it... and that there will always be that other part of him as well, just not always demonstrated. For Machi, it's not so much a question of moralities as it is a question of loyalties. He wants to do the right thing. He just doesn't know what the right thing is yet.

Lamiroir alludes to his 'darkness' at the end of case 4-3. Lying and smuggling may only be symptoms of a larger problem. Earlier in the trial, Lamiroir mentions that the darkness she fears isn't the darkness of her vision, but that "the real darkness... lies in my heart. I do not know my past. Perhaps I committed some terrible crime." She continues, "I can think of no other explanation. Why else would an agent of Interpol approach me?" Sadly, the darkness she feared was not in her, but in Machi. He is not as innocent as he seems. The theme of darkness, literal and otherwise, continues through the trial--referenced again and again by Lamiroir, Apollo, and even Valant Gramarye. But it is only at the end that Machi is identified as its bearer. Apollo, upset at having found Machi guilty of a crime (if not the crime of murder), attempts to apologise to Lamiroir, because "Machi was [your] partner on stage! Your friend!" Lamiroir's response is preceded by silence before she finally speaks. "Yes. I thought of him as my own son. Even now, I do. Yet... something got ahold of him. Something evil. I see that. And he must pay for what he has done. Is that not how it should be?" And indeed, it appears to be. Even at the end of the game, when the player's (Apollo and/or Phoenix's) defendants throughout that particular game are revisited--as are a few other characters of note, some good (like Adrian Andrews) and others (like Morgan Fey) less so.) Machi, however, is conspicuously absent; we neither see nor hear any trace of this particular character again after his trial, not even when it is revealed that Trucy and Apollo are Lamiroir's biological children. Now given the courage to pursue surgery for her sight and revealed to be Thalasssa Gramarye, she says "For so long, I thought I was alone... but now I know I have children. Two dear children."

    Where is Machi?

What is Machi, even? What is he to Lamiroir? What is he to anyone?

Cute and shy as he is, he's very troubled, and this translates directly into his actions--he can be a little unpredictable, and even though Machi always knows what he's doing, he almost never makes this information available to others without repeated pressing. At his darkest, Machi can be downright mean, even cruel, and while Machi as a whole tends (and tries) to be forgiving, he's fairly petty and somewhat spiteful besides.

The same arrested development that endows him with childlike good will also leaves him hypersensitive to the actions of others... for both good and ill. And gentle though he is, he is not afraid to get his hands dirty.

Machi's great love is the piano. He directs himself towards music deliberately and often ignores other people in favour of the piano, preferring the company of music to the company of other human beings. Machi himself is very withdrawn and stoic (read: unresponsive to or afraid of dealing with people); however, his playing is far more expressive and emotional, and carries a lot of feeling that he himself could never express. In fact, it could be theorised (possibly incorrectly, possibly not) that he expresses himself through his music rather than through verbal or visual communication--i.e. normal communicative means. Regardless, he's definitely a prodigy.

Ironically, Machi has a problem with facing his problems--he avoids them, runs away, or pretends not to know they're there instead of taking on even simple dilemmas out of fear of doing the wrong thing. He doesn't like confrontation, and violence is something he seeks to avoid. This probably has something to do with the above, as well as his very limited and unusual life experiences, which leave him ill-equipped to deal with certain 'normal' human choices or interactions, let alone unusual and more drastic or complicated situations. His inherent kindness is as much a strength as a weakness here, since it may be taken advantage of--on the flip side of this, his paranoia and self-doubt can prevent him from seeking help when he actually needs it, or making friendships when they are available.

And in part because of the extreme stress and pressure he feels in these situations, he can make the very wrong decision. (See: the entirety of Turnabout Serenade.)

He does become braver and more normal-acting when you get to know him (or rather, he gets to know you and becomes comfortable around you--it helps when he knows what to expect, which takes a while), but his (mis)understandings of things still hold him back, as does his inability to trust other people--or even himself. This, coupled with his perpetual stoicism and sometimes irrationally rigid adherence to rules that may or may not have a bearing on the situation, means that he is sometimes impenetrable--very often right when he needs to be understood the most.

Victory Road Sample: Lying in bed on a low bunk in the Rocket barracks felt surreal. Hardly different from prison, and yet very different. In possibly every way that mattered. It was the ways that it didn't matter that were the same.

The thing about all of this is that it wasn't.... bad. Yes, it was bad, but he was a bad person now. The fact that he had been in jail instead of dead was lucky. A miracle. A chance he had to make the most of. He had to pay for what he did, but in paying for it, he could pay them back by becoming better. He had to pay them back. Lamiroir. Apollo. LeTouse. He had to become better.

That was what he was doing, he'd thought.

    Now, everything had been reversed.

And it... wasn't bad. He did not like to sleep in a dormitory, but it is not objectively worse than sleeping in a jail cell. Or even on an airplane. He didn't like animals very much, but he had also been forced to 'partner' with one in jail. So it was barely different.

The big change was that now he could come and go. Mostly. He did not have to be supervised. He was actually freer than he had been in years.

Was that good? Was this a good thing, or a bad one? To be a 'bad' person and live a better life?

It was riskier, probably. He's not really a stranger to that, though. He's been living a high-risk existence his entire life.

So... not so bad? Maybe? For now, anyway. Yes. For now.

It was not so bad. For now.

That was a conclusion that would let him sleep.

    Character
    Name: Louie Duck
    Series: DuckTales 2017
    Timeline: post-"The Last Adventure"
Canon Resource Links: DuckTales Wiki Page

    Personality:
The series starts with Louie as a child con-artist. He's very clever, especially for his age. As his uncle points out, he can see all the angles of a situation and use that information to best approach it. However, Louie is also very lazy and, especially early on in the series, tends to look for the easy path. He wants to be as wealthy as Scrooge, but he doesn't see himself following the same roads to get there. Working hard? Earning it square? Waiting until he's older? No thank you! Over the course of the series, Louie makes many attempts to get rich quick with low effort schemes - most of which are morally gray, such as going back in a time machine to take treasures that were later lost to time, or teaming up with Goldie O'Gilt as his fake aunt to get ridiculously valuable party favors from the birthday of a peer he can't even stand. Considering what a sharp thinker and bright kid he is, it sure takes Louie a while to realize that he can't just cheat his way to wealth - or at least, that that's not who he wants to be. After nearly losing his family in said time machine scheme and then being hunted by a monster as a result of his love for money, though, Louie learns humility. He still wants to be rich, and he's still lazy, but he becomes willing to put in the work for the money he desires, and to do it with scruples he previously lacked. And now he schemes for good causes, be that saving the world with his family, or helping Donald's band get their big break.

Louie is rather guarded and cynical, at least as children go. This has decreased over the course of the series, but he's still more likely to be suspicious than trusting. He assumes the worst a lot, and the worst tends to scare him - Louie is not brave, though he does feel that "greed beats fear." He doesn't show his emotions very readily, at least, not his more sensitive ones. Generally, Louie is either sporting a laidback attitude or - if he's on a big adventure - panicking about danger. But just because he doesn't like to show his softer side, that doesn't mean it's not there. Quite the contrary, in fact. We get our first big glimpse of Louie being emotional when he and Huey learn that their brother Dewey was keeping secrets about their mother from them. Louie doesn't react angrily to finding out - as Huey does. Instead, he gets quiet and withdrawn - he's been hurt, and he reacts with sadness. And when that mother returns to the boys' lives, it's Louie who struggles the most with the change; unsure how to approach suddenly having a mom.

And his way with words goes beyond being able to talk his way out of trouble, too. As the series progresses, Louie is quite often someone who will offer a heartfelt pep talk to boost someone up, as he does with the other kids in the series finale. He gives support when its needed, and needs the support himself- The season two premiere focused on how Louie wasn't sure how he contributed in the family, and the distress that brought him. It's interesting to note that while Louie is still a schemer in many ways, a search for a magic sword in season three leads to the discovery that his hidden, inner strength is the truth. He may not be inclined towards full honesty, even now, but being sincere can help him shine. Louie may have his sights set on being a successful businessman, and he certainly has a unique skillset that could help him get there one day. But he's also come to be aware that he's not ready to be wealthy, and is ready to take some time just to be a normal preteen now... Even if, in his family, "normal" means something a little different.

Additionally, as Louie is a returning character to the game, here is information on previous character development.

Timeline: Post-Canon (end of Book 4)
    Canon Resource Links:
    Infinity Train Wiki

    Original Character Background: N/A

    Personality:

The common first impression of Ryan is that he's the life of the party. He's the type of person who draws everyone's attention the moment he walks into a room, but also frequently gets labeled as self-centered or attention-seeking. Either you love him or he's deeply frustrating to be around. He's excitable, talkative, and hates missing out on something fun. He's a real social butterfly, and kind of a weirdo who doesn't seem like he has a care in the world.

Like Min-Gi, he grew up in Powell Lake in Canada (over in BC). They were born on the same day in the same hospital, so their lives have been forever intertwined. Ryan's family is Japanese-Canadian, but they aren't the first generation of Canadians in the family. Little is known about the specific situation but canon makes one thing extremely clear - no one really pays attention to Ryan. All of the Akagi children fight for attention from their parents because their family is too big and there isn't enough to go around. Ryan often talks about how his parents wouldn't notice he's gone missing or how they just don't care about him unless he's "doing something". This also seems to be backed up by his father giving Ryan his van and then choosing to have no further contact with him after graduation.

This has led Ryan to become very self-sufficient, especially in terms of taking care of his emotional needs. He's deeply attached to Min-Gi, the one person in his life that does seem to care about him unconditionally, but the moment Min-Gi ditched him on stage, Ryan considered that to be Min abandoning their dream of touring together and performing. He panicked at the thought of leaving, something Ryan had been very serious about, so Ryan left without him. He felt betrayed, but he felt he had to keep going alone - even if it meant leaving Min behind. Ryan knows how to deal with people who don't care about him - he doesn't. He removes himself from the situation and sprints forward.

This solo tour was a disaster. He had three girlfriends in quick succession (that we know of) who all broke up with him. The final one left with Ryan's van, which he gave to her out of desperation that she might stay. Despite acting as though he has to be self-sufficient and he's the only one who can take care of himself, he does extremely poorly on his own. Left alone, he crashed and burned hard, and had a manic episode where he returned to Powell Lake and tried to get Min to leave with him. He made up a New York show that didn't exist and spent what was most likely the last of his money on two tickets to New York City - and when Min rightfully said no, Ryan stole his keys and ran with them.

From there, after a long story that's more appropriate for a history section, the two of them wound up on the Infinity Train - a place where in order to leave they would have to learn lessons about themselves and improve themselves. Their numbers were synced together - 202 - and went up or down whenever one of them learned something, with the goal being to get to zero. Despite initially being combative with Min, Ryan quickly accepts Min's (incorrect) conclusion that this is all Ryan's own fault, and that the number is only moving up or down because of him. He's guilty about it, and allows Min to smugly "encourage" him even though it's clearly pretty annoying, but it seems natural. He doesn't actually question whether or not it's his fault; he just accepts that he's the one who screwed up and he's the one who needs to fix it. He will still get upset if he feels like he's being treated unfairly, but seems to easily accept blame - as though he expects to have to accept blame, or as though people usually think he's screwed up in one way or another. Min treats him in this moment like he's too stupid to learn basic lessons, and...for the most part, Ryan doesn't actually argue with him. He's upset, but he just lets him yell until Min's ultimately proven wrong.

He has an interesting way of looking at the world. Sometimes he'll blank on words and sub in sound effects and sometimes he'll gesture wildly to get his point across, but he also has a tendency to hang back and listen that goes unnoticed. Often it's read as him being distracted or zoning out, but he does pop back in and show he's been paying attention. He also tends to squash his own emotions down (even when he's very upset) when someone he loves is upset, prioritizing their hurt over his own.

Ultimately this is because under all of that good cheer and silliness? Ryan doesn't actually like himself that much. He'll say he does, but he's very hard on himself when he makes mistakes, and has gone so far as to say that he's garbage, in a way that indicated this was some deep dark secret he was hiding all along. He's impulsive and reckless but when actual (or even perceived) harm has been done, he holds onto the guilt. This can be detrimental to his mental health, as he had a full-on hysterical meltdown and then shutdown because he was coping with the fact that he had a bad thought that could have led to him abandoning Min-Gi. He had an intrusive thought and then beat himself up over it until he broke, as though he actually did something wrong.

Through his train experiences, Ryan ultimately learned that he wasn't just rushing Min-Gi - he was rushing himself. He was so desperate to get started on his dreams and get out of their small town that he left before either of them were ready, as if staying would have meant staying there forever. Despite nearly leaving Min to die (which Min corrects him on - he didn't, it was a bad thought), Min still wanted to play in their band and still wants to go on tour. When Min had the chance to leave on his own, he stayed and waited for Ryan - and Ryan looked more touched by that one promise than anything else in his entire life.

As of Ryan's canon point, Ryan and Min-Gi are on tour in their band Chicken Choice Judy, and while they haven't made it to New York City, they did make it to Utica. By this point, Ryan is much more willing to work together with Min on more than just music, to slow down and wait for him when he needs to. They communicate better than they ever have before, and having someone by his side makes all the difference.

    Victory Road Sample:

Everything happened really fast, and Ryan's head is still kind of spinning.

He woke up in a bedroom that wasn't his, in a house he didn't recognize, greeted by someone who definitely wasn't his mom, only to be hastily ushered out the door with a backpack. She went on about how it was time for him to go on his big journey, and how...proud, she was? She wouldn't listen to any amount of protest though, and soon enough he was on the doorstep with bag in hand, in what might be the tiniest town he's ever seen. Are four buildings even a town? And where is that music coming from?

Knocking on the door doesn't really do any good, so Ryan does the only thing he really can do. He wanders around aimlessly, trying to get his bearings. He does discover a few things though. First is that Min-Gi is not here and no one in town is claiming that he's secretly their son. Second is that this not only isn't home, but it has some of the most goddamn weird animals he's ever seen. And finally...he has one of his own.

Honestly, he doesn't even know what it is. The Pokégear thing calls it a Minun and it keeps saying the word Minun, but it's not like any animal he's ever seen before. It looks more like a cereal mascot, or maybe just a very small person with giant rabbit ears. He learns the hard way not to touch the little dots on its cheeks, but after a small burst of electricity that makes Ryan's hair stand on end, the little guy seems to forgive him.

After a while, Ryan parks himself under a tree to see just what's in his bag. Clothes, soap, camping stuff, more of those little capsule toy things his Minun came out of...and a bento box that makes him pause. He can't remember the last time his real mom packed him a lunch. Maybe grade school? And it was never this...elaborate. Did that lady seriously make this for him? Was it supposed to be for someone else? The rice is even shaped into what he's...pretty sure is supposed to be more pokémon, but his Pokégear apparently doesn't help much if he's scanning food and he doesn't recognize any of them without it.

He spends a while just looking at his lunch and picking at it, feeling a certain way about things that he's trying not to let his brain articulate. His cloud of thought suddenly clears though, when he feels little paws rubbing the top of his head and the buzz of static electricity. Minun apparently climbed right up onto Ryan's shoulder, and is now looking for as much attention as he can get. Ryan laughs and lifts him down, his hair sticking to Minun until he sets him on the ground.

"What's up, Min? You hungry, buddy?"

Ryan says it more like Mihn instead of Mine, but Min seems to responds to it anyway.

    "Min!"

"Alright, alright, yours--" He picks out one of the blue penguins and hands it over. "I...really hope that's made out of stuff you can eat, little dude."

Because he has no idea, but Minun happily nibbles at it so he's just...going to choose to believe this is fine. Probably.

It would be a lot more fine if Min-Gi was with him though. He's got to be around somewhere, right?

    Personality:

Rebecca is, at her surface, an incredibly sharp-tongued, fun-sized woman. For a side character of a ten episode prequel series though, she’s given not only animated spunk as part of her charm, but a deeper path into growth as a character who isn’t just small and yells a lot.

Because of her stature, it’s seen that Rebecca gets laughed at a lot by her enemies and she does not exactly take it with stride! She’s hotheaded and trigger happy, shown to shoot first, laugh second, then probably not think about it again later (as seen during many shots in the anime, especially the montages of her shooting manically at enemies). She’s easily insulted, and because of that is quick to snap or charges herself right into an attack that can barely be stopped by her peers on a physical level (when, for example, her brother gives her the finger, in which she actually shoots at him— the second example of this was when her brother was killed, to which she went absolutely ham on his attacker. She slinks out of protective grasps and leaps right back into danger, usually forcing her team’s hacker to short circuit what’s cybernetic of her to make her fall like a darted wild cat.

So, yes. You can capture these almost immediately: Rebecca has no in between. She either dips extreme one way or another. She is unpredictable, absolutely chaotic and definitely a little unhinged. She has little filter and doesn’t seem to fluster too easily (despite being angered quickly). But that doesn’t remove what’s actually good about her.

She’s your best girl. She’s someone you can count on for help when you need. She is ride or die absolutely all the way (this particular canon reference is a spoiler; she literally rides with her friends and does everything to get David and his girlfriend Lucy to reunite before being killed). She can be a goof to try and make her friends laugh, she is hinted to like attention and is a bit of a show off when it comes to something cool or neat she could do. She’s pretty blunt about what she feels for people (coming out to David about having feelings for him, especially during a scene where she yells “I’m tired of playing hard to get, you know!”), but she is incredibly loyal to the people she loves. She will go to great heights to help them, to stick with them— and she’s done that from the beginning of her reveal to the end of the show.

    Personality: Kindness.
Despite how she may come across, she does have an urge to help those out around her where she can and always thinks of everyone else before herself. It's a noble trait in someone that is essentially an outcast without choice, but also tends to make her something of a doormat to those around her. Everyone is far more important than she is, after all, she is merely a means to help them out where she can and in whatever way she possibly can. Her life is worth far less, after all, it always has been.

    Loyalty.
Even without any links to have clung onto throughout her entire life, there has been at least one link that has earned her loyalty. This was due to a young boy saving her life and furthered itself in the long run when she found out who he was later down the road. For those she considers friend she would very willingly give up her own self if it meant keeping that person safe from whatever danger was being faced. It also hadn't stopped her after death, either, her spirit showing to not be done with her job just yet and making sure that her job was entirely completed before disappearing.

    Timid.
A very less positive personality trait, due to her long and weary life of being an outcast and the continual issues with it, she's very much timid towards anyone that's unknown. She tries to make herself appear smaller, insignificant, and not worth that person's time whether it's for the better or not. It's far better to be ignored than to be under someone's radar and once again put through hell simply for being different from those around you. New situations are not much of her forte.

    Inner strength.
Despite how she acts on the surface, there is a quiet inner strength within her. One that ties into her loyalty and allows for her to make decisions that would be difficult for most other people. Her soul is her strength and it manifests itself as one of the most powerful beasts that had been seen at the time. One that shows that, under the surface, she has strength to defeat the darkness that lies before her.

    Loneliness.
Being an outcast for your whole life puts things into a rather odd perspective, that you can't get close to anyone in fear that they'll eventually lash out at you. It makes existence rather cold and lonely, knowing that you can only count on yourself. It also makes you yearn for companionship and any sort of contact with others, leading towards... perhaps not the best decisions.

    Character
    Name: Misaki “Night” Yamazaki
    Series: Original
Timeline: Post-campaign / After the Formation of the New World

    Original Character Background:

The campaign setting was based on a mashup of the SMT/Digital Devil Saga/Persona and Fate franchises. For the sake of this app, the serial numbers are largely filed off, and Night will not recognize canon characters including Fate Servants, except for being vaguely from a world with similar mythology, and that her own world uses similar terminology.
The world that was and the world that is are both near-future Earth with some very key differences, namely the existence of magic and summonable supernatural beings all grouped broadly under the name ‘demons’.
Demons range from classical, biblical demons (and…angels, for some reason), to creatures of myth and folklore from around the world, to heroes and even historical figures that been strongly mythologized. They are able to be summoned through highly specific rituals or, much more recently, via the app EDEN which has a matchmaking program for new summoners and automates much of the process.
The world has essentially ended twice. Once, twenty-five years ago, in a failed apocalypse in a world almost exactly like our own, reducing human populations to being grouped largely within seven remaining cities all ruled over by their respective mage orders, with only a handful of unprotected towns existing outside of this. The world then ended (again), rewriting the timeline from that 25 years, to a more peaceful coexistence with demons, with only about a dozen people remembering the previous apocalypse and it’s results.
The center of the first apocalypse was the appearance of the Qllipoth Trees, gigantic crystalline trees that tower over the world and dig deep into the world, distorting reality in accordance to wishes made by humanity around them. Every five years, the Trees would grand the wish to the victors of a contest that became known as the Holy Branch Wars or, more informally, the Tree-For-All. These wars determined what wish was granted, and usually there was only a handful of survivors. Each Order put together a team in order to battle for supremacy and gain control of the wish in question.
The fifth war saw the introduction of an eighth wildcard team, overseen by Dr. Misaki Yamazaki, in order to complete the goals of the Qlipoth trees–the creation of a new world from the corpse of the old, a process that had been stalled 25 years previously. The Eighth Night (she is not very creative) would eventually succeed and trigger this new world, which was technologically much the same, but much more rich in natural magic, allowing for harmony between humans and demons. As someone who had been integral in orchestrating this and maintains a sort of contract with the Trees, Misaki remained one of the few people aware of the events of both apocalypses.

Misaki’s specific history is deeply tangled with the history of the world and it’s multiple apocalypses, marking her as a major player in the world and also as someone deeply affected by all that’s happen. It was her own father who orchestrated the events that lead to the initial death of the old world, and the tragedy that prevented the new one from being formed. In desperation, Misaki sold her own humanity and mortality to the sentient force of reality, creating the Qlipoth trees to try and buy the world a second chance. Her husband would also sell away his humanity, essentially replacing Lucifer as the great Adversary, in order to have the power necessary to save humanity and, more importantly, Misaki.

Misaki’s sacrifice gave humanity another chance, but meant she was unable to directly intervene in the wars that broke out amongst the trees. Instead, she developed the app EDEN, allowing almost anyone to summon demons and cast spells without formal training, and used the apps matchmaking to pick out several people who would become the Eighth Night. As the Fifth War dragged on and began to unravel reality, she was able to intervene only slightly more, choosing to prioritise protecting her unwieldy herd of children, both biological and adopted, with the little strength she had. Having sold her mortality, Misaki was well aware that to fail would mean living eternally in a void of non-existence, unable to move, speak, or even perceive anyone or anything else. It is possible she was aware, constantly, of the alternate timeline where such a thing did occur, and that despair haunted her until the very moment that possibility was averted.

At the very end, fighting against the machinations of Nyarlathotep (yes, that Nyarlathotep) and his pawns, Misaki was called upon to intervene for a price, and revealed the truth of her lineage–the final true heir of King Solomon. This was a lie she essentially bullshitted reality into making true, but remained true when the universe was remade, much to her chagrin.

In the new world, Dr. Yamazaki is largely a mysterious asshole who runs the largest library in the world, offering free education to those without the means for the fancier academies, and largely lives in peace with her husband and exceedingly large passel of kids. Despite having been instrumental in the formation of Sector Zero, the world’s peacekeeping organization, and brokering the initial peace treaty with demonkind, Misaki and her satanic spouse move every three to six months to avoid being bothered by anyone.

For her role in the world, Misaki is both an extraordinarily talented magician, a genius programmer, and an excellent athlete, being a former MMA competitor. Her magic is completely gone, and one assumes Arceus actively prevents her from being able to hack into the systems that keeps the world functional, but she’s still going to try, bless her heart. Indeed, the only mark of her old magical powers is her heterochromia–a mark gained by her contract with her husband, Literally Satan, signaling their connection.

Here it really just looks cool.

    Personality:

Misaki is a very catlike person at her core, which is to say, an insufferable asshole who demands attention but only on her terms. A remarkable genius and powerful athlete from a young age, Misaki is driven to be the best at whatever she turns her hands to and, worse yet, is used to succeeding very quickly. She deliberately cultivates an impression of caring very little for the thoughts and feelings of those around her, and even for those she cares for and teaches, she is a harsh taskmaster, constantly pushing people to their limits to see as rapid improvement as possible.

Misaki is impatient, judgemental and often arrogant, used to being the smartest person in the room, but it is not to say she has no redeeming qualities. She is deeply and fiercely protective of the people who worm through her armor, and endlessly enthusiastic about the successes of her loved ones. For the people she considers family, there is very little she won’t do for them if asked, and she will often quietly go out of her way to leave presents or solve problems for them, in a way that makes it obvious she’s done so while she’s elsewhere. Being emotionally vulnerable is embarrassing and she would rather swallow glass than admit when she’s done someone genuine kindness. The only exceptions to this appears to be animals and small children–while Misaki prefers cats obviously and greatly to literally any other creature, she still enjoys the company of most animals and would point out there’s no point in making a performance to impress or deceive them–their standards are different. With children, she will wave it off as just disliking to see small children lonely, a remnant of her own father’s abandonment. In truth, given her own startling number of offspring, it’s possible she just really likes kids.

As someone who loves the potential of humanity but has largely been soured on individuals, Misaki loves history and science, and scrambles to learn anything she can about those topics. A deeply inquisitive individual, she also eats gossip up with a spoon, to the point of doing things like laying magical eavesdropping devices or skittering around in the vents of a hotel she owns to listen in on people. She’s reluctant to speak directly on anything she knows, but if you can somehow corner her on a topic, she can be a lively and excitable conversation partner, and while it deeply hurts her pride to find out she doesn’t know something, she will then throw herself completely into learning about that topic.

In a PG-13 world such as pokemon, Misaki is going to be intensely frustrated by how little she knows, but deeply excited to explore and learn, and will take to the competitive nature of battling like tiger to water. As pokemon are animals, she will take great care of her own and will make a point of being only a jackass to other trainers and not their pokemon. She may in fact be more of a jackass to other trainers to compensate.

    Fate/Zero synopsis
    Kiritsugu background

    Personality:
“And there you go. Our Heroic Spirit over there, considers a battlefield to be something better than Hell. What a joke. A battlefield is Hell itself. There’s no hope to be had one. There is nothing but unspeakable despair. Just a soulless cry we call victory, paid for by the pain of the defeated. But humanity has never recognized this truth. And the reason is that, in every era, a dazzling hero has blinded the people with their legends, and kept them from seeing the evil of bloodshed they bring. True human nature has not advanced a step beyond the Stone Age. [...] I will win the Holy Grail and save the world. And I will wage that war with the most appropriate weapons at my disposal. Justice and Righteousness cannot save the world. I care nothing for such things.”

To understand Kiritsugu Emiya, you must first unravel the core of his ideology. He follows a very utilitarian mindset amounting to 'the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few,' taking it to its most logical extreme. Kiritsugu is a man who would kill one innocent life to save ten lives without a second thought, and that is by no means an exaggeration. He'd do anything he could to save the largest number of people, and we see this expressed time and again: from shooting his father in cold blood as a young boy-- for being at the center of the ghoul outbreak in his village, to shooting down a ghoul infested jet his surrogate mother happened to be riding-- simply because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Servicing the greater good became his mantra, further reinforced by his wish for the Grail - to enact humanity's salvation - and the trails he endures throughout the course of his series.

Kiritsugu does not see himself as a 'good' man, but rather, that his purpose in life is a necessary evil. This purpose shapes his persona as "The Magus Killer."

When we are first introduced to Kiritsugu, he is sitting in a vacant and oppressive room, waiting in silence as his wife gives birth to their child. This is symbolic for a multitude of reasons. Knowing that his wife, Irisviel, is the embodiment of the Holy Grail and slated to die at the end of the Holy Grail War, he sees himself as having no place in her-- or his child's life, preferring to remove himself from the picture altogether. And when he is called in to view his newborn daughter, he can only remark upon his despair, reminding Iri that he will 'be the cause of her death.' Unrelenting, Irisviel assures him that he is a worthy father because he pursues a world where his child would not have to cry, and in turn, makes him accept his duty as Illyasviel's father.

This mindset is integral to his projection of self. To the world, he wants to be seen as cold and detached-- even callus, to achieve his goals. He feels personal attachments only weigh him down, and ultimately soften his heart. It's not that he doesn't enjoy, or find pleasure in these attachments. Quite the contrary. His wife and child are the most important people in his life. When he later saves Shirou from the fire, he is described to be 'overcome with joy' and to be the one 'truly' saved that night. It's also said that when he is separated from his daughter after the Grail War, he travels overseas many times, to fruitlessly attempt to retrieve her from the Einzberns. More than anything, his heart yearns for them! But he is at once convinced he is not deserving of them, and feels pain from the joy they bring.

It is also to be noted that as both a mage and a combatant, that Kiritsugu is not averse to using underhanded and 'dirty' methods to accomplish his goals. In a scene where he's playing with his daughter, he knowingly claims wingnut branches to be chestnut ones, when they are very obviously not. Illyasviel calls him out for 'cheating,' which he then responds he can only win by doing so. He carries this mindset to the battlefield as 'The Magus Killer,' specializing in anti-magic techniques that mages would not typically plan to defend against. This is said to include sniping, poisoning, and using bombs in public places-- among others. In the Holy Grail War, he opted to eliminate the others mages by singling out, and kill them one after the other, as opposed to challenging their servants to a straightforward and honest fight. If given the opportunity, he would have likely killed all the other mages this way, regardless of what kind of person they actually were.

It might sound contradictory that a man who seeks peace, would do so by committing horrendous and violent acts. But this is the logical conclusion his mind has come to, stemming from his own experiences as a child. His dream, at that point in his life, was to become a 'hero of justice.' There was an inherent desire in Kiritsugu to do good, to protect the weak by vanquishing evil in the world. It was only when his childhood friend and assistant to his father, a girl named Shirley, broke into his father's possessions and drank one of his potions to prove his work a success, that Kiritsugu is forced to realize the hefty price of his ideals.

When Kiritsugu is presented with an opportunity to kill Shirley, as the vampiric core of the ghoul outbreak in his village, he opts to run away, and later comes to hold this against himself. It's around this point he's stopped by a woman named Natalia (who he later comes to see a mentor and surrogate mother) who was sent to the Island as a freelancer by the Mage's Association to find and dispose of the mage responsible for the pandemic. After speaking with her, he takes it upon himself to be the one to kill his father, realizing that his death would prevent countless others.

Similarly, when he is much older, he is faced with the decision to shoot down an jetliner Natalia had boarded in a mission to pursue a target, as all its passengers become infected with the mage's bees and are turned into zombies. There is a part of Kiritsugu that desperately wanted to save her, but became convinced the potential loss of life outweighs the risk were it to land, opting to shoot it down himself.

No matter how much he might care for a person, his ideals win out at the end of the day.

It is only in his pursuit of the Grail, he is forced to see the shortcomings of his own myopic worldview. The Grail tells him that his wish for peace can only be accomplished by methods known to him, and shows him visions of how destructive this worldview can be by making him relive the deaths of his loved ones by his own hand, to where he is finally shown to a room where he is left in a room wife and daughter. His true 'peace' upon the earth. He rejects this vision, of course, and with it, the Grail, acting in a last ditch effort and using his two remaining command seals to order his servant to destroy it.

We can conclude by this that, while Kiritsugu is a very flawed man, he is not a totally irredeemable one. Ultimately, he has good intentions in his heart in spite of himself, and when divorced from conflict, his desires are quite simplistic. He is a doting father and husband, who would whatever he could for his family within the confines of his ideals. When stripped down, his need to help even becomes downright altruistic! It is merely that he cannot see past himself, and puts the needs of the many before even his own.
