    The Game
    Alex herself

    Personality:

Alex is a generally friendly teenager who gets along with most people or at least tries to get along with most people. She's one of those folks who will try to reasonably talk things out, like when Jonas and Ren start to fight, she tries to break it up without picking a side. Telling them both to just calm down so they can focus on getting away from the island. She also is nice to and starts to befriend her stepbrother Jonas when she first meets him and as time passes. She states she's an optimist and proud of it at the start of the game and that's not wrong. And with everything that she goes through, even when her optimism starts to strain at points, it never truly breaks.

She is a pretty normal teen and while she doesn't smoke, she will drink and she did go to a party on an island that no one is supposed to be at after dark. However she doesn't approve of her best friend, Ren taking what are clearly pot brownies. Firstly, because he becomes really annoying on them and secondly because the next time he takes one, they're very much in the middle of something they all need clear minds for. However she doesn't hold it against him as much as Jonas seems to.

Alex has a good sense of humour. She cracks jokes and can be sarcastic at times. It's what she usually uses instead of lashing out angrily if she can help it. Once stating that Clarissa is mean because she (Clarissa) had pigs blood dumped on her in a past life and is getting ahead of the curve. She can also be silly/humorous in times of danger, telling Jonas that "the evil" is what left behind the weird hand prints on a chalkboard. Also playing along with her friend Ren over the radio when he pretends to be an official, claiming that she wants to report a poltergeist that has invaded her home and among other things, looks better in her mittens then she does. Though she'll drop the act quickly when things become serious.

A sore spot for Alex is the recent death of her older brother, Micheal, who she was best friends with. He drowned when he took her out swimming before he left to go away and since she didn't know how to swim, she was unable to do anything but watch him die. This is also the reason Clarissa hates her or at least acts negatively towards her, as she was dating Micheal and she blames Alex for his death. When Micheal was around, as shown in the flashbacks she actually wanted to get along with Alex and the two were friendly, if a bit awkward. After his death though, she claims that everyone in the town knows that Alex is the reason that Micheal is dead. He died because she did nothing. Alex doesn't believe it is her fault, because there was nothing she could have done, even though she feels terrible about it, even just thinking about it. She tries to put up with Clarissa as much as she can, because she knows she's just hurt as well. But she can be pushed too far and sometimes she'll snap back at the the girl. Usually with sarcasm, but sometimes with just exasperation. She doesn't want them to be at odds with each other. Sometimes she'll just stay silent as well because it's not worth it.

However despite all of that; when asked if she really includes Clarissa in her list of friends she says yes, despite what it looks like. She also point blank refuses to trade Clarissa to the ghosts. She is a loyal friend, whether it's not trading a friend to ghosts for (alleged) freedom, or simply not calling her friend Ren out on his crush in truth or slap because he asked her too. In fact she drops a few hints to his crush, Nona and they end up together because of this. She also tells Jonas that he's a good guy and makes him repeat it to her. She cares a lot about her friends and is willing to give up everything for them.

Alex is very determined, she's the only one who seems to remember most of the loops they get stuck in/she gets stuck in, at least in each run through, she forgets them when everything resets, but she still refuses to give up and finds a way out of them, usually ending up winding old tape recorders, which somehow sets things right.

Alex is excitable and loves the idea of finding a treasure map someday. This is one reason she finds all the letters and radio anomalies, the other is that she wants more information about what she's dealing with. Alex is the sort of person who will see a giant jump and take it, leaping over a large gap that she almost doesn't make, but she says she's been doing since she was a child. It still freaks Jonas out though. She's a risk taker and like the more literal example above, doesn't always look before she leaps. While unlocking the ghosts is something she did by accident, and had to do as the exit vanished from the cave she and Jonas went in....She did still let them out by her actions of using the radio. She also sealed the portal behind her at the end of her first run through, even though the ghosts tell her that means she will be trapped with them as well.

    Which she is.

Alex is starting to realize that she's been living the same portion of time over and over again for an undisclosed number of cycles. In short. The game is a time loop and she's been living through it, over and over just like the ghosts have been living reality over and over again. She's done most of the things the same way but tried to vary things a few times but nothing ever changes. Part of her is starting to realize this, as she is now in the new game + where she's trying to send messages to other versions off herself and the ghosts are being more open about her having done this multiple times. She knows that the messages won't help her and she doesn't even know if they'll help the other Alex's in different timelines. But she refuses to give up or not try to help the other versions of herself that might be out there.

Speaking of time. Alex is willing to mess with time. Damn the consequences. She convinces her brother to not go away so that she doesn't go swimming with him and he doesn't die. This is how most of her endings go as she can't bring herself to not save him. Even if she can't always remember the other times. She has forced herself to not save him on occasions because there is something in her mind saying she shouldn't (possibly memories of her past attempts or simply just time travel logic) but of course it doesn't change anything and she doesn't remember doing so. So the next time she ends up on the island she will usually end up saving him again because it's her brother and she wants him to be alive. Even if it's just for a short period of time and she's trapped back on the island doing the same thing again, when she does start to remember.

Some things are just more important, that's also why she stops right before they're about to confront the ghosts to help Jonas tune into a strange song that has been following them, that reminds him of something his dead mother used to hum. Helping her new sibling and friend possibly get to talk to his dead mother is worth putting off confronting their enemies for, no matter what.

At this point in time she's realized that she is stuck in the time loop with the ghosts, possibly forever. She's being taken from right before she wakes up on the ferry again with her brother alive at the end of the game/ pre time loop restart.

[Alex has managed to turn on the gear. It's no radio, thank god. More like a really weird video phone. She's visibly stressed out right now]

Okay, so apparently whatever this place is, it has a sense of humour. I'll give them that. But can I also say, their sense of humour?.....it sucks.

[She points the device over to some sort of creature. It's just sitting there. Being creepy.]

Yeah, whoever you are that brought me here? I looked this thing up. Really funny. The last thing I need in my life right now is more trapped ghosts.

[She looks over at it again and then back to the gear.]

.....these ghosts can't possess people can they?

[Another quick glance and then turning away from the void of ghosts.]

Okay so if anyone's out there....Ren, Jonas, Nona...hell, Clarissa? Anyone? If my eyes start glowing red ...or maybe green or purple in this case...whatever. If it does that, or it starts to possess people? I just want everyone to know that I didn't actually do anything this time. I just got this thing as sort of the worst welcome gift ever.

    Character
    Name: Xion
    Series: Kingdom Hearts
    Timeline: After she fades away
Canon Resource Links: Good luck figuring out Kingdom Hearts.
    Personality:

If there was anything to compare to Xion, it would be the ocean. Like the ocean, Xion's thoughts often remain just below the surface, too dark to discern. She remains private with her thoughts and what's bothering her until it comes crashing to the shore out into the open, then quickly receding away to obscurity. She doesn't like to bring it up or make it apparent, apologizes for doing so, but at the same time, her thoughts overwhelm her so much that she can't help but show it in her expression and tone. Her thoughts are often her enemy, plaguing her with doubts about her worth or who she even is and drowns her like the ocean she dreams of. With this, Xion is hesitant to open up and express how she's feeling in unfamiliar situations, in some ways she's not entirely sure what her thoughts mean or if they're even her own. She questions everything inside and outside of her, sometimes they're deep and existential, "why do I feel pain if I don't have a heart? How do I know about this? Are these memories real or fake? Who was I before I became a Nobody?" these are the thoughts she keeps to herself, to agonize over and only long for the answer to. The more light-hearted questions come from her endless curiosity, indeed with someone that is as unsure of her origins or basic humanity as she is, Xion is always wishing to explore the world around her and the ones beyond. Her mind leans towards being more literal and logical as, again, she's a person that tends to think a lot—simple phrases like "push your buttons" escape her and she questions where this button on her could possibly be. At the same time she points out the obvious ("Roxas, that's a stick") or the harsh truth ("If we ran from the Organization, where would we go?") to people that she's close to, not maliciously, just to get the facts straight. Truth and clarity is very important to her as a person that is unsure of her origins and wants to find answers.

However, as Xion is a person clouded by doubt and lack of confidence as these thoughts torment her, she ends up being a little sensitive. She takes rejection hard and begs for another chance, apologizes over and over again, even if the person is someone that treats her badly. She can handle it, she says, though rejection as well as abusive words still hurt her feelings, Xion does not speak up in her own defense, she tries to mediate and find the best solution for everyone around her. Being created in an environment where she often feels (and usually is) powerless, she has difficulty making decisions for her own benefit as a result and, really, thinks more of what everyone else wants, what people expect from her. For some part, it's for self-preservation, she's fully aware that some people can and are perfectly willing to kill her and though she does not wish to be dependent on them and their desires, she knows she has to be, she knows it's her duty. For the rest, it's because she truly cares about some and wishes only to make the best decisions for their sake. Her heart is in the right place, but still she is lost and confused, she asks questions of others constantly, "what should I do? How can I do that?" even if the decision should solely be left to herself. She has to be stopped and reminded: no, this is your life, it's your own decision whether you want to do what's right by them or right by you. Regardless, she will always choose what's right by the people she cares for, it's not necessarily a strong sense of justice so much as a strong desire to be loyal and take care of her friends. These same loved ones also end up begging Xion to please think of herself, be selfish and do what's best for her, but once Xion has made up her mind, made her goals, she will not be swayed and she'll do what it takes to make that goal happen.

A huge part of Xion's doubt and anxiety is the question of her identity, the one time she flies into a rage and blindly attacks (when usually she's more careful with her fighting) is when it's implied that she's a "sham." She hears it enough already, that she's nothing more than a puppet, but she has people that treat her like a real person to drown that out, so how dare anyone say that she's a fake? Though, in actuality, the attack wasn't directed at her but at her Keyblade, still—her doubts leave her feeling like anything is an attack on her. Some part of her believes that she really isn't worth anything; she really is just a fake, isn't she? And when Xion feels as stressed and pulled in all directions as she does while trying to figure out who she is really, she runs away and hides to compose herself, to consider what should be done next. She knows always that she has to push aside her doubts and seek the truth, no matter what it ends up being, she's fully aware of how her actions and behavior affects those around her and—again—she doesn't want her loved ones to worry, but sometimes isolating herself is necessary. Especially when she realizes that her actions have negative consequences on her friends, it's just better if she's not there; she loves them too much to have them suffer by protecting her.

Love…how can somebody without a heart love? Yet she feels it, she feels it for her friends and knows that she would do anything for them. She has the instinct to take care of her friends and keep them company, watch over them when they're not feeling well, even if it's not something that a Nobody should know or even care about. She stays by them without fail and reassures them when bad things happen. She does this in spite of them, like before, telling her to please worry about herself. Though ultimately Xion is not able to get a firm grasp on an identity of her own and ends up pulled in all directions and almost losing herself completely, she still knows deep down that what must be done is what is best for her friends. Anything, even removing herself from the picture and the memory of her friends entirely, even if it's painful to consider and difficult to go through with. As said, once Xion has her mind set on a goal, she will do anything to make it work, even if it means acting antagonistic to her friends in order for them to destroy her. Yes, she will actually die for a cause that she's loyal to, for people that she loves. She doesn't do it because she wants to be regarded as brave or heroic, it's simply because even if she's not who she thinks she is and there never really was a "Xion" the time and memories she made with her loved ones is precious and real.

Xion would not know what to do with her own identity, she doesn't know who she really is, some part of her feels like a lot of the traits she has are just patchwork of others. Why does she like collecting seashells? Well, that must be because she's made from memories of Kairi, who also loved seashells and collected them to make charms. Why does she know how to use the Keyblade? She doesn't know at the time, but it's because she's made from the Keyblade wielder Sora's memories. But at the same time there's the determination to become much better with the Keyblade and with her fighting so she doesn't mess up and lose it again. There's the very intense desire to not fail, part born from her fear of the higher ups in the Organization deeming her "useless." She screams in frustration at a failed mission, she beats herself up for not being better, she isolates herself, and then she decides she must plead for another chance. "Let me do it again, please, I can do better." She's reserved, slow to open up with so much as a word or a smile…though when she does open up, she seems to become a whole new person—smiling and laughing along with her friends. Some of her highlights of the day are spending time with her friends, talking about things like going on trips or "what does this mean? What does that mean?" She listens carefully to what's said and she remembers it well, even to the point of turning it back onto her friends to tease them. Xion's affection for teasing indicates her level of comfort and trust in the people she keeps company with, one would rarely see her like this in any regular situation, especially one that she doesn't feel comfortable in. She does not make jokes, not really, not even to lighten the mood, though she does have encouragement for the ones she's close to and insistence—"Yes, I'm fine, I can handle it!" Xion appears strong solely for her friends, while for others she would wilt in the background as she's unsure of what to make of them and doesn't want to draw attention to herself. Outside of the Organization is not a life Xion ever considered, she shot it down when Roxas brought it up after all, she's not sure what to do in that sort of situation. She's not sure what to do with the unfamiliar or with anything about her remaining stable, being her own person and making decisions for herself and her own benefit. She might say something and then immediately second-guess it and apologize to the person she's speaking with for saying something odd. She might question what they say at every turn out of genuine curiosity at something she's never heard of. She thinks she might mess it up entirely and should avoid it. But then she has to remember that Roxas didn't know what to think about her either when they first met; yet when she began to speak, he kindly offered friendship to her. She's still in the progress of discovering what her identity—her own identity, the girl called "Xion"—really is, doubt and apprehension rest heavily on her, some memories in her mind remain mixed up and she isn't certain if they even belong to her. But she won't give up, she'll approach it carefully, one step at a time, and open up to properly introduce herself to the world.

After her first time around in Johto and Kanto Xion did indeed open up and come into her own identity more. She grew into a girl that enjoyed seashell crafts and swimming, collected Water Pokemon, became a great trainer with a strong sense of always wanting to do the right thing. She also grew into a sense of sarcasm and wit when affronted, after all she needs that sort of defense when dealing with certain people from her own world that try to needle at her origins. She also began physically spelling her name S H I O N, removing the X which symbolized the Organization's ownership of her.

The long and short of it:

+Loyal: Once a person has Xion's trust, she'll stick with them and defend them to the end.
+Kind: Xion is a friendly and happy girl once she opens up to people, she wants to spend time with friends and have fun.
+Hardworking: Xion gives her all on missions and always wants to show that she can do it and do all of her duty correctly. She might go a little…overboard with the desire to prove herself.
+Observant: As said, Xion prefers to hang back and listen carefully to a situation before butting into it.
+Resourceful: Despite her origins Xion is actually quite adept at trying to figure her own way out of certain situations, of course this can unfortunately lead into a tendency to not ask for help until it's too late.

+/-Introspective: This can be a good thing as Xion gives a lot of thought to her actions…but also a bad thing as she can get caught up in her own thoughts and psyche herself out of interaction or asking for help.

-Secretive: Something is wrong and will hurt her friends, Xion will fix it, it will hurt her instead. She won't at any point tell her friends that this will happen, because she wants to protect them.
-Lack of self-image: She's getting better with it, but her fractured identity and origin as a puppet does still hurt, she still in some respect views herself as a thing and not a person.
-Emotional: Like said, she experiences her emotions in a very unstable fashion, with the question of her identity being pulled in all different directions she's liable to experience her emotions very strongly and suddenly. Nobody ever taught her how to regulate intrusive thoughts and emotional outbursts.
-Stubborn: Once she's come to a decision, she'll stick with it, no take-backs, no talking her out of it. Obviously since she thought about it, it's the right decision and has to be done.
-Very, very naïve at heart: She's barely a year old in all actuality, there's still some things she'll actively question or not know about and won't necessarily know you're not supposed to say something like she would out loud.

[When the video turns on, the person handling the Gear seems surprisingly calm—she's not remotely upset to be "suddenly displaced" somewhere new, she looks like it's just another day for her. A Wimpod is nestled in the hood of her jacket (an odd black trenchcoat-looking thing) dozing peacefully.]

    I came home.

[It's the first thing the girl says, very simply, very factually. She has been in the world of Pokemon before and considers it home over where she was before. Nobody would remember, either, that when the girl first arrived she spoke with much less confidence than she does now.]

Riku? Vanitas? Are you guys still here? I hope Vani didn't mope too long when I left, I didn't mean to.

[A cheeky grin comes to her face after she says that, whoever Vanitas is to her this is evidently some kind of ploy to rile them up.]

A more general question for everyone: hi, I'm Xion. That's S-H-I-O-N, but the Gear probably lists me as X-I-O-N, I need to go back in and fix that. Did anybody end up with my Pokemon? I'm not gonna fight with you about it, if you're taking care of them, but I just wanna make sure they're safe. And…

[Xion stops, a serious look coming to her face.]

I think Silph kidnapped my Null, I'm definitely gonna fight them to get Saturn back.

[Well that's a very ambitious thing for a teenager to say.]

    That's all for now, thanks.

    Character
    Name: Craig Boone
    Series: Fallout: New Vegas
    Timeline: Post-game, independent route
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki

    Personality:

Boone generally tends to keep to himself, so for most people he'll probably come across as cold and distant to start with. His involvement in the Bitter Springs Massacre left him troubled to say the least, and after being forced to mercy kill his pregnant wife, Carla, he became convinced that he was being punished for his role in the shootings. For a long while, the only thought on his mind besides killing Legionaries was finding death (and, in his mind, an end to his "punishment"), but after travelling with the Courier for a while and going back to Bitter Springs he's begrudgingly come to accept that perhaps his punishment is simply having to live with what he's done.

A strong believer in fate, he still feels that his time will come when it's "done with him", and though he no longer actively seeks it out he doesn't fear death. Boone treats fate as something that watches over everyone, tormenting and punishing them where it sees fit to do so, unstoppable and inescapable. He believes that he lost his wife and unborn child because of his part in the massacre at Bitter Springs, and that if it hadn't been her it would have been something or someone else. "You take out a debt, it's only a matter of time before someone comes collecting." For this reason he's still reluctant to get close to anyone out of fear that he'll bring them down with him, but with enough time and patience it is possible to get him to open up. He also believes that one action isn't cancelled out by another, and that karma will catch up to you regardless. "A murderer who does good deeds is still a murderer. And he'll still get his judgement."

He can be apathetic to other people's problems, more likely to grunt and keep walking than take the time to break up a violent fight between strangers if he spots it. He's also clearly fine with the Courier stealing from others, though he'll get angry if he catches you stealing from him. Essentially, if it isn't his problem, he probably doesn't care. Once he sees you as a friend however, he becomes far more reliable and willing to help out, and can become fiercely protective over those he's most loyal to. He doesn't like to talk about it, but he's terrified of losing anyone else to what he believes is just waiting to take it all away again. He's also still loyal to the NCR, despite having left the military, and refuses to actively work against them. "I fought with those men. I'll be damned before I betray them." He does, however, acknowledge that the NCR have their problems.

He doesn't talk much, preferring to listen quietly. He can struggle with finding the right words to express how he feels, though if something bothers him he will usually speak up. For the most part he's fairly soft-spoken, and it's a very rare thing for him to actually raise his voice to anyone; his tone is more likely to become low and threatening instead. If angered, he's more likely to brood on it for a while than to seek a physical confrontation, though verbally he still won't hide his feelings on the matter or sugarcoat his words. The exception to this rule is if he feels someone he cares for is being threatened, in which case he will not hesitate to threaten right back with violence and/or death, or if he's hit where it hurts (slavery being one of the few topics that will immediately infuriate him). Once Boone dislikes someone enough, he'll generally refuse to speak to them. Bugging him after the fact probably won't get you anywhere, but he's capable of giving second chances if he thinks you're sorry enough. His sense of humour is dry and often delivered flatly, sometimes making it difficult to tell if he's serious or not.

Even with his closest friends, Boone isn't much of a talker, though he is more likely to offer substantial answers to questions asked by someone he's comfortable with. He's fairly blunt and straightforward with his words, and it isn't really in his nature to say something he doesn't mean. If a conversation is heading in a direction he doesn't like, he'll make it clear that he doesn't want to talk about it; repeated attempts to continue the subject will only serve to irritate him and close him off even further. He doesn't generally appreciate close contact, even with people he's comfortable with, and is likely to edge away if someone gets in his personal space. There are exceptions to this, but only with those he has a strong bond with. Unfortunately, besides being terrible with words he also isn't particularly book-smart (to put it into perspective, his intelligence stat is the lowest of all the human companions at 3/10, and he only beats the dog by one point). He's aware of this, and probably won't appreciate having it pointed out, but it's hard to truly offend him and most insults won't get much of a reaction from him. In fact, if he believes that it's the truth he's more likely to simply agree than anything else.

While he lacks in smarts and charisma, he makes up for it by being physically strong and extremely perceptive. He's deadly with his rifle, and his military training combined with the constant threat of the wasteland means he's always on high alert. He's often the first in a group to spot trouble, and is swift about putting an end to it. He wakes easily from sleep, and if woken too forcefully or in the midst of a nightmare he may instinctively react with violence. He also hates having people sneak up on him or startle him. Being former 1st Recon, a sniper battalion with a reputation for being some of the best the NCR has to offer, he's at his best with a good vantage point and a sniper rifle in his hands. "Give me my rifle and a clear line of sight and I'll start picking them off before they've even seen me." He can use most conventional guns just as well though, and is also skilled with melee weapons though he prefers to keep the enemy "out of his face". He's also been trained as a spotter, and can find enemies through his scope for a partner. He's very stealthy, able to sneak up on many enemies without them even noticing him. Unarmed combat is where he falls short, having had little to no hand-to-hand training, so knowing this he prefers to keep a weapon of some kind on him at all times.

He takes no real joy in killing, seeing it as more of a necessity to stay alive and protect the people he cares about. The exception to this is when it comes to revenge. He'll state that he wishes there were more Legionaries to kill after wiping out Cottonwood Cove, and he'll be particularly happy after killing Caesar himself. He'll also get antsy when getting near certain Legion encampments, warning the Courier that if they get any closer he's killing any Legionary he sees whether they want him to or not. He refuses to leave Novac until he's personally dealt with whoever sold his wife, despite claiming to have no friends there or even anyone he can trust.

He can spend a lot of time deep in thought, and sometimes may take a few moments to respond to a question. His thoughts usually end up back at Bitter Springs or his wife somehow, and he still spends a lot of time alone mourning her loss. He's shown to deeply regret that he couldn't fight to save her life on the day she died, despite truly believing there was nothing else he could have done and that he was always meant to pull the trigger. He doesn't like to talk about Carla too much with anyone he isn't friends with, and will get annoyed quickly with persistent attempts to pry into his past. He has some difficulty separating himself from things that hold sentimental value to him; he still keeps a letter written to his wife while she was alive with him, and he struggles to leave Vegas because it's where he met her. He's also adamantly against mercy killing, having had his fair share of it as an NCR sniper even before having to kill Carla, and sees it as an absolute last resort.

Under a lot of stress, Boone is prone to completely shutting himself away emotionally. Depending on the reason for the stress he can also take to drinking a lot in order to forget bad memories, or just in an attempt to get some sleep that isn't plagued by nightmares. He'll become more self-loathing and cold towards people, even his friends, and is likely to begin pushing them away with the belief that they'll be better off without him. At his absolute lowest he can have suicidal thoughts, and may behave more recklessly than usual (rushing into potentially dangerous situations, for example). Two of his endings involve him either outright committing suicide, or going mad and staging a solo suicide mission against scores of Legionaries, knowing he won't make it out alive.

[He's not sure how he got here. Last he checked, he'd gone to sleep sitting with his back to a wall in a rundown shack. Boone had been ushered out of his bed by a woman claiming to be his mother, and now he's standing outside the house he woke up in and eyeing the Skorupi that's standing nearby.

He doesn't trust this creature, whatever it is. His first thought would have been to grab his rifle- clearly this is some radscorpion mutation- but he's weaponless. It isn't attacking him, but for how long?

When he moves, it follows. Like a lost puppy. He can't seem to get away from it, and it watches him cluelessly as he slowly bends down to pick up a stick for self-defence.]

Okay. You just stay right there while I...

[He fiddles with the gear that he was given and manages to turn it on. Then, assuming he's contacting someone, he speaks.]

So I just woke up here, and there's a goddamn scorpion following me around. Not sure what to do about it, since my weapons are gone. Anyone out there know why this thing won't leave me alone? And what...

[He narrows his eyes, pausing for a moment to listen.]

...What the hell is that music?

Egon Spengler | The Real Ghostbusters

    Character
    Name: Egon Spengler
    Series: The Real Ghostbusters
Timeline: post “The Hole in the Wall Gang”
    Canon Resource Links: http://ghostbusters.wikia.com/wiki/Egon_Spengler/Animated

Personality: Egon Spengler is the brains of the Ghostbusters team, seconded only by Ray Stanz. He takes control of the team as the tactical leader most of the time, and is the inventor of the proton packs and the containment unit. He is stated in Rollerghoster to have gotten his first degree in primary school, and went on from there to get his PHD in paranormal studies early in life. He has an expansive knowledge of the supernatural, from his own research and that which he finds is his go-to resource, Tobin’s Spirit Guide. He is also very well versed in many other fields, being a collector of spores, mold, and fungus once being the owner of the largest ant farm in Iowa. The knowledge he’s collected of the creatures they often come across has a tendency to make him the most level-headed and analytical of the Ghostbusters. His interest in science leads him to be more fascinated with than fearful of the subjects they come across. He is an exceptional inventor, capable of creating nearly anything needed for their ventures, including a car that transforms into a new vehicle every time it’s damaged in Don’t Forget the Motor City. In Ghost Busted, when the team converted to crime fighting, Egon’s inventions came in so handy that they were able to stop all crime in New York. At least some of his academic prowess comes from pressure from his parents who, in The Devil to Pay, are stated to have not spoken to him for a week once when he was in college, only because he made an A- on a test.
Despite Egon’s calmer take on his usual job, he remembers offenses and can be very quick to go on the attack when he or his friends are personally threatened or insulted. In The Boogieman Cometh he meets with the Boogieman that once tormented him as a child, and compromised their mission in an attempt to attack him physically. In The Devil to Pay, at the realization that a demon is attempting to trick his friends, he jumps out of his seat, shouts, and attempts to tackle the creature as everyone else remains calm. In Rollerghoster He is also the first to get mad about their image being stolen for a rollercoaster, confronting the owner and threatening to sue immediately, while most of the team wants to let them be. He is also terrifyingly efficient at dispensing justice for his offenses.
Egon’s occasional fiery moments are offset by an otherwise extremely dry personality. He often has to clarify his own emotions to people because he speaks so flatly, such as in Slimer, Come Home with Winston. Very few things shock or surprise him, and even extreme situations rarely earn an emotional response, again aside from the insult or threat to himself or friends. Facing off with Cthulu hardly earned an expression of surprise from him. He is certainly not above feelings of fear or anger, but often struggles with expressing them. This dryness makes him hard to read, and he can often come across as uncaring or above it all. He takes many traumas in stride, including having his soul torn out and used as a trampoline in Egon on the rampage, and being blasted into a hollow vapor of himself in Egon’s Ghost.
Egon’s dryness and preference for study over human socialization has made him somewhat awkward around others, with a sense of humor that is often misunderstood and obscure. He tends to be somewhat uncomfortable showing emotions around others, played up to a comical level around Janine and the other women that often flirt with him. He is clearly uncomfortable with most displays of affection, opting at most for a companionable hand on the shoulder at most times. He has also unknowingly insulted Janine to the point of her wanting to quit more than once.
Along with being awkward around others, Egon can be very detached. He is very forgetful of his own and other’s safety at times, including when he wanted to try electroshock therapy as a viable solution to a problem, and took a glass of water meant for an unconscious Ray and drank it himself. When he’s not uncomfortable with close shows of emotion, he misses them completely as with the librarian in Chicken, He Clucked. He also has a tendency to completely ignore others when focused on his work, such as in Slimer, Come Home when he walked directly past a group of muggers without even flinching while searching for Slimer. In Cry Uncle he gets so absorbed in his calculations after finishing a job that he stays in the center of the street, standing waist deep in a man hole until Peter and Winston pull him out.
Though Egon may often have a poor understanding of others, he is far from antisocial. He is happy to spend time with the team outside of work, lives comfortably with them, and is often the first to give a friendly greeting to the supernatural creatures they study. His friends matter a lot to him, and he often thinks to check on their safety after or during their missions. He shares a lot of friendly banter with Peter, and shares the lab space working with Ray. In Citizen Ghost he is the first to greet Slimer politely, introducing himself and asking for permission to study him. He is also the one who most often has to clear up any misunderstandings caused by Peter. He very much cares about the wellbeing of others, which is a large part of why he got into the Ghostbusting business, and his main concern in many dangerous situations is the wellbeing of his friends, as seen in Ragnarok and Roll when he was willing to overload his proton pack, killing himself in the process, to save the world and mentioning Janine’s safety in particular. He has also stated that he would like to be the first human ambassador to the ghost world, looking to communicate with them more than stop all passage between both worlds.
Egon also has a tendency to try and put himself above trivial pleasures, but he has his joys and is open about them. He enjoys fooling with the occasional difficult customer, as stated in Doctor, Doctor when Peter excuses their damaging a chemical facility by claiming at the owner allowed them in and he noted it was his turn to make the excuse. He is also known to enjoy playing jokes on the others, Peter in particular, employing Slimer. He is a lover of opera, and even offered the Metropolitan Opera their services for free in the name of art appreciation.
Egon is also very responsible, taking good care of any charges and completing almost any task he takes on. This is in exemplified in Ghost Busted when he takes on the challenge of fighting crime in New York and subsequently eliminates all crime in the city. He also keeps a close watch on the containment unit, and is most of the reason why something that is so delicate and requires so much upkeep remains operational. He is one of the main firehouse inhabitants that helps care for Slimer, because of the ghost’s importance to his studies.
On the outside Egon seems quite relaxed at times, but internally he is quite tightly wound and cares very much about his success. As stated above, in The Devil to Pay he mentions that his parents once neglected to speak to him for a week because on an A- on a test. This pressure likely persisted through his entire childhood, and has led to quite a drive for success. His extended family is shown to also add pressure for success to him, as seen in Cry Uncle when his Uncle Cyrus arrives and claims that he is too brilliant for work as a Ghostbuster, and that he should be part of a proper lab setting. He looks to prove his capabilities to himself and others because of this, striving to be recognized with Nobel prizes and mention in scientific papers. He has a low tolerance for others messing with or outright destroying his creations, having to warn Peter and others away from messing with items like the containment unit or PKE meters.
Egon is also an extremely loyal person, sticking with his friends and keeping to his promises strictly. In Cry Uncle Cyrus Spengler states that Egon has never given up on a promise he’s made, and uses a promise his nephew still owes him to wrench him away from Ghostbusters work. At no time has he left any of the team behind for any reason, and will even go out of his way to stand up for or save them. In Look Homeward, Ray he helps to prove Ray’s capabilities to his home town when they doubt the Ghostbusters, and in Rollerghoster He is quick to defend their stolen image.

    Name: Lucas Baker
    Series: Resident Evil
Timeline: Before the final boss fight of RE7
    Canon Resource Links: Canon Wiki!

    Personality:

The very first bit of information given about Lucas in-canon is that since youth, he was infamously a "bad seed". He is rrrrreally not a nice person, and has zero interest in being subtle about it - he's not even a pleasant one. At his best-behaved, he can still be said to have a hostile, petty nature and obstinate difficulty with not having things his way - in the Daughters DLC scenario, which takes place three years prior to the main game, he gets huffy and protests when his parents mention putting a lost child up for the night in his childhood bedroom, and has apparently been keeping month-by-month laptop documents of all of the things his family has done to end up on his shitlist.

The above sets him up to sound like the dour, angry sort, which... he can be, but really only when, well, he is, again, not getting what he wants - when the balance of power's not in his favor. He's seen anywhere from morose to furious at four notable points/potential points in canon: one, the Daughters scenario, throughout which he's in the company of parents who're willing to keep him in line (prior to infection in the main game, Lucas's father Jack was, apparently, strict with him in particular - aforementioned shitlist claims that Jack at least once smacked him upside the head for checking his phone at the dinner table, and towards the end of the scenario Jack shuts Lucas up after a snide remark with a glare and his name - which probably at least lent to dislike that got Lucas switching in private from calling Jack "Dad" to calling him "that old man"); two, if the player beats him at his own game at the end of the 21 DLC (he recovers pretty quickly from that once, presumably because he has a scheme to fall back on); three, when he's getting worked up in his video message to protagonist Ethan regarding the potential cure to the Bakers' infection (it's not exactly in high supply and he has no reason to believe that it'll be used on him if it's made, but he seems to think of its sheer existence as a threat to the regenerative abilities that the infection gives him); and four, when Ethan solves the Happy Birthday escape room in one piece by circumventing every one of its trapped elements (his response to that being essentially to throw a tantrum and end his turn as RE7's antagonist-at-large via ragequit).

Each of those has "he's having his 'scuse you I do whatever the hell I want roll blocked or interrupted" and/or him losing/not having the most ground in common. He doesn't take losing or disappointment well, and imposition of outside control or restrictions makes him absolutely miserable; he blows up in the face of the former, and he'll look for outs from the latter, whether that's on the scale of mentally checking out and giving a hundred percent of attention to his phone when surrounded by family or of his playing spy on his household for an unnamed organization in exchange for immunity to Eveline's mind/behavior control.

But he's seen through virtually the entire rest of RE7 with the reins off. And when he doesn't feel as if his style's being cramped or his buzz's being harshed, evidently, Lucas is one of the most exuberant, chatty, and fun-loving fellas a person could meet. He goes from the teenage/post-teenage moodiness in Daughters to freely, enthusiastically chattering to strangers as if they're good ol' friends he's so darn excited to see. He's quick with a quip and has an expressive flair. He'll rush in on any opportunity for a laugh and is one for playing jokes.

He's a big ol' kid at heart.

One who isn't only a bratty sulker when faced with discipline or restrictions but who flat-out delights in being a sadistic bully taken to the extreme.

I do mean sadistic. By "playing jokes" above, I mean "genuinely trying to terrorize and detrimentally misdirect people" (two-in-one - there's a bit where he jumpscares Ethan at a keypad-locked door to give him a [fake] password - before "correcting" himself and giving a new [also] fake password twice; the keypad turns out to be linked not only to the door but to a wrong-password-activated booby trap hanging over it), and finding new and interesting ways to hurt and/or kill people is essentially a creative hobby for him - one that he gets massive amounts of gratification from. (Lucas laughs often, but good lord is it particularly drawn-out and pronounced when he assumes he's fatally pulled the rug out from under Clancy in 21 and if he gets to watch Ethan burn to death in the Happy Birthday trap if the player hasn't pieced together how to keep Ethan alive for it.)

The other side of the coin of his disliking being under anyone else's control or restrictions, probably. He loves being able to whatever the heck he wants with people as if they were action figures or game pieces (flipping the equation is just humiliatingly wrong and unfair in his head), and this is much more than likely just... the way he is, rather than learned or reactive behavior. He made his first kill as a kid young enough to be referring to his mother as "Mommy", when he responded to being bullied for being "crazy" (whatever he did to get that reputation and the CAT scan his boyhood journal mentions in childish terms at that age isn't gone into) with inviting his bully over and locking him in the attic until he starved to death. (True, he didn't actively, directly hurt the kid, but he locked him up over days upon days of hearing him begging to be let out, and his only comment on the whole thing after the bully stopped making noise was an eventual complaint about the body upstairs stinking up his bedroom.) There's also a bit of scrawling in his old room stating that he used to hope he'd find dead bodies scouring the bayou. It wouldn't be a stretch to say he can "like" other people due to thinking they're interesting or entertaining - catalysts for fun, in other words - or to roll with people whose qualities and/or actions he thinks could help him out, but as for anything more personal than that? He likes being in position to see other people as... well, essentially-inanimate things, rather than autonomous entities who can make demands of him or throw off his pursuit of fun and going nuts in seeing the ways in which he can play with his environment. In fact, best of all are scenarios in which people are nothing more than elements of that environment!

Seriously, if there's anything genuinely good to be said about Lucas, it's that he has a highly- and productively-active, exploratory creative mind bent on getting results. He'd be a poor trickster and trapmaster if he didn't! He's the clever, resourceful type and he's proud of being such - he takes a moment during the 21 DLC to emphasize the fact that "I got 'em working again!" with regards to the retired electric chairs he has a couple of prisoners strapped to; and, again in his childhood diary, he alludes to the fact that he turned his first-ever first-prize kid inventors' contest trophy into a lamp by saying that "Now it'll be shiny even at night".

His cleverness serves him well not only in pursuit of novelty in his... areas of interest, but in service of the fact that he's kind of a coward when it comes to one-on-one direct conflict. Again, balance of power - Lucas gets on-edge and irritable in any situation in which he doesn't have a distinct advantage over anyone he might clash with; and being more oblique and fond of blindsiding and outwitting than he is the direct type, he's most always at a disadvantage over people who are not only willing but able to go right for the jugular.

Still, he can get... complacent in his own intelligence. That complacency and his general uncompromising nature result in development of blind spots all across the board, and they're not small ones. When he finds out in Daughters that Zoe's been sneaking peeks at his laptop by virtue of knowing both his phone password and the fact that he uses the same password for both devices? He does nothing. When Clancy manages to cheat death in 21 by countering his obviously-meant-to-be-a-last-minute-cheat-move with a bonus card he personally wrote and provided? He seems genuinely surprised, and even more genuinely irritated - though, again, he gets over it quickly, thanks to having another deathtrap set up for whoever won 21. He's the sort who can get caught up in the concept and let the what-ifs and finer points of a plan slip through the cracks - 'ey, if he's smart enough, his planning process should leave no "what-ifs" worth bothering with, am I right? - and that coupled with his pettiness and inability to react gracefully when outsmarted makes for an Achilles heel blatantly on display.

    The Sole Survivor
    Pre-War America

    Original Character Background: CUSTOMIZABLE PROTAGONIST!

Stuff we know about Kim's past.

Kim has a law degree and was listed as a lawyer by a pre-war robot. Kim was married to a man named Nate and had a son named Shaun. They lived together with a Mr. Handy unit, until the day bombs fell and they got into a vault at the last minute.

    More Details
Kim grew up in pre-war America in the years that it was truly going downhill towards the end. That meant a few things. Paranoia, food/oil/everything shortages, plague, war with China, the annexation of Canada, and a very corrupt government as well as a lot of other terrible things. Kim had a family that she was very close to and grew up in the Boston area. Kim being very close and having tight bonds to her family is shown in game as she's unwilling to give up on finding her missing son. No matter how many 'impossible' things she had to do along the way.

Kim got a law degree because she believed that she could help people. It's something she feels very strongly about. She was incorrect because the law system was so corrupt and terrible. It was pre-war america. They were putting people in camps after all. Still she tried her best and ended up leaving her job when she had a baby.

Kim hates the military, that's because she's seen its work and also because her husband almost died away at war. He came back a war veteran and hero but she knows it's just as possible that he might not have come back at all. Coming from pre-war america Kim saw all sorts of prejudices and the use of China as the boogieman in everything. She never really bought into it, especially after seeing how corrupt her own government was. This is why she's accepting of ghouls, synths and even super-mutants like Strong, that aren't trying to kill her. She collects a group of all sorts of people and makes it clear in game she's not prejudged.

    -

Kim has different options in the game as to how she can react. I chose to make her a sometimes sarcastic but generally decent/good person who wants peace, loves her family, and is willing to do almost anything for her friends. She proves this by helping them on their companion quests. No matter what the situation is. She always has time. She also becomes General of the Minutemen and is always willing to help them when they need her to. She also joins up with Nick and his Detective Agency because hey, might as well put that law degree to some good use. She likes to help people and if she comes across someone who needs help in the game, she'll usually lend a hand.

She honestly prefers the Commonwealth to Pre-War America and admires the people building and trying to improve their lives. She states as much in her interview with Piper.

    End Game Choices and Reasoning

-Sided with the Railroad and after trying all she could to convince "Father/Shaun" that he was wrong, she helped them destroy the Institute and killed "Father" so he wouldn't have to suffer from the explosion.

Given how much family means to her, and how much she did to find her son, this was not an easy choice to make. However seeing how much terrible things the Institute did, how they treated synths as slaves and finding out that her son could have let her out of the vault whenever he wanted and only waited till he was old and curious to see how far she'd go to find him....she realized that he wasn't really her son. Her son died the day her husband died. What was left was a dying old man who she'd never known, who refused to listen to reason, who did terrible things and who seemed to think of her as more of an experiment, then a mother. No matter what he said.

-Adopted the child, synth version of her son Shaun, that 'Father' left her and took him back to Sanctuary. She loves him like her own and she views this as a new start. He's an innocent and believes she's his mother. That's enough for her. Though she does plan to tell him he is a synth at some point, because she doesn't want to lie to him.

Companions: What my Sole Survivor thinks about them. I know that anyone can app in a character and have their sole survivor act totally different towards them in their history/be a different person. This is what Kim feels towards her friends and how she acted in some of the quests. .

Codsworth: Family. Hands down. She is quick to reassure him of that and he helps her a lot in feeling like a good person because he believes in her so much.

Piper Wright: A good friend and a good person. Kim reassures her that she's not a bad sister, she just has to let Nat be her own person and that avoiding her won't help that. It helps that Kim also believes in freedom of the press.

Nick Valentine: Her partner in crime....or against crime. Nick is probably Kim's best friend. He has pre-war memories and is connected to the law with a strong sense of justice just like her. She helped him get revenge against Eddie Winter and keeps telling him that he's as much a real person as anyone is. Because he is.

    Preston Garvey
: One of the first people she met out of the vault and a good person. He got her to join up with the minutemen and wants what's best for the Commonwealth. She considers him a good friend and will always have his back. He managed to get her to lead a semi military organization, that's how much she trusts him, given her hatred of military things.

Deacon: A totally not shifty guy with more costumes then you can imagine. Kim likes his sense of humour and that he believed in her when joining the Railroad. They make a good team and Deacon eventually opened up to her about his past, several times lying about it, but she chose to believe the last one because despite everything, she trusts him. She also trusts him to lie 99% of the time.

MacCready: A mercenary whose a bit hard to get along with. However eventually after a while she got to know him well enough that she helped him out of a bind with a group called the Gunners and then helped him find a cure for his sick kid. After all she was on a quest to find her own kid, of course she'd help another parent.

Strong: An interesting case. Strong believes he's looking for the milk of human kindness, an actual thing that will give him power. Kim let him join her, even if she knows that's not a real thing. Along the way her ability to kill things and helpfulness on settlement quests made Strong admire her and decide she is his leader. She likes him, even though she refuses to be as violent as he'd like.

Cait: A cynical, drug using cage fighter, you'd think she and Kim wouldn't get along. And for a while they didn't really. However Kim stuck with her, and treated her like a person and didn't betray her, or demand payment or anything Cait figured would happen, to the point where Cait started to open up to her about things. Kim eventually helped Cait break her addiction and now considers the woman a friend. If still a cynical friend.

Curie: Kim helped the Miss Nanny turned scientist, robot find a new synth body and tries to help her find her way in the world that is even more new to the synth then it is to the pre-war woman. They get along well as Curie wants to help people, though through science and medicine mostly.

Hancock: Kim supports him as he wants to do right by his people. Even if his methods and style of government is kinda anarchy like. Still, 'by the people, for the people', does have a good ring to it and he has a good sense of humour. Kim likes him.

X6-88: Kim only worked with him while she was undercover. She managed to earn his respect by her logical dealings while undercover at the Institute. She felt horribly guilty about that. She has no idea if he's dead but after the destruction of the Institute, he probably is. Or if he is alive he probably wants her dead. She's not sure which one she should hope for.

Paladin Danse: Helped with the first mission to get the transmitter but turned down offer to join the Brotherhood of Steel so he was never recruited. He probably died in the explosion when they blew up the Brotherhoods blimp. Unlike X6, she has no real feelings of regret as she never got to know him.

If you want to know more about her as a customizable character that isn't in the personality segment. Ask away.

    Personality:

If there's one word that describes Kim, it would have to be adaptable. Throw her in a new situation and she'll manage to survive in it. Be it growing up in pre-war America, waking up in post-war America or any of the various situations she ends up in, in game. Spy, general, undercover spy, etc. That's because she's a quick learner and she's willing to learn whatever she can to survive and find her son. Be it, learning how to shoot and take care of weapons, to figuring out how to pick locks and hack computers. As well as learning how to build settlements and cook new food made out of mutated plants, vegetables.and irradiated animals and anything else she needs to know to survive in this new world.

She had a steep learning curve and the fact that she made it as far as she did was a surprise to a lot of people when she caught up with them. The mercenary who killed her husband figured she had a 50/50 chance of even making it to Diamond City, the largest city in the Commonwealth as she was just a simple pre-war housewife. She showed up in his secret base quite far away from the city. Not only managing to track him down but also killing him and his Institute synth protection when he refused to hand over her son or tell her how to get into the place where her son was. Kim is very stubborn and refuses to give up no matter how many 'impossible tasks are put in front of her. She manages to figure out how to get through all of them.

Kim is good at talking her way out of things. Very good. She was a lawyer, pre-war and that was basically her job. Using her words to convince people of things. She doesn't like to manipulate people but she she will try to press things in a way she thinks they should go. Normally that's towards a peaceful outcome because she'd much rather talk things out then fight. It also comes in handy when she goes undercover at the Institute as a spy for the Railroad. She's given a lot of jobs there and many of them involve situations that she could use violence for or use logic and talk people down. She always goes with the logical talking option and it usually works.

Kim as stated above, is not prejudged. Well mostly not prejudged. She's very anti-military which is why she doesn't join up or support the Brotherhood of Steel and why Preston had to convince her that the Minutemen wasn't your typical army to get her to join. However aside from that she's new to the world so sees no reason not to trust ghouls or synths or treat them as anything but people. In fact she considers a Mr. Handy, a type of robot that is not humanoid at all, part of her family. Because he is. This is why she joins up with the Railroad. They believe synths are people, not slaves or things to be destroyed and she agrees with them.

As much as she prefers peace, Kim is not above revenge or violent actions. For one thing, she killed the man who killed her husband and stole her son and doesn't regret it. Even after she sees his life and she feels a sting of pity, she can't forgive him. Not fully. She helps blow up the Brotherhood of Steels blimp just as much for revenge for her friend Glory's death in their attack on the Railroad headquarters; as the fact that the Brotherhood knowing where they are means that they won't stop trying to wipe them out. So taking them out was a needed action. She knows this. The revenge was just also a large part of her motivation as well.

She also knows that the best way to free all the synths is to take out the Institute and so she does just that. With the second one, she sounds an evacuation signal and convinces "Father" to stand down some of the guards so that more people, Institute as well can survive, but when it comes down to it, she's willing to sacrifice the people of the Institute for the freedom of the synths.

Kim likes to collect comics and magazines and also gets really into character when she dresses up as the Silver Shroud, a pulp comic/radio play action hero. She has a lot of fun with it. Doing a dramatic voice and everything. Despite mostly taking things seriously, Kim does have a sense of humour. Usually with sarcasm, like when she greets Eddie Winter by introducing herself in a terrible Irish accent as "Molly McFuckyourself". Or just teasing her friends or bantering with sarcasm. She also likes to listen to pre-war songs on the radio, or the Silver Shroud radio plays as she goes through the commonwealth. Oh and she like collecting different hats.

Kim wasn't sure where she was. It was.....far too green to be the Commonwealth and unless she'd managed to go back in time, it certainly wasn't pre-war America. Besides, there weren't enough propaganda posters up for that. No this was some totally new place.

With some really weird creatures and people too. There was a purple blob she'd been watching after her "mother" had kicked her out of the house she'd woken up in, before she could even say, excuse me, my mother died in an atomic blast, who the hell are you?

Probably for the best though. She didn't want to argue the fact that her mother was dead. You lost that argument either way. No, instead she focused on the weird blob thing as she sat under a real live tree, something she thought she'd never do again. The weird machine, gear or something they'd apparently switched her pip-boy out for seemed to say the creature was something called a ....

    "Ditto....huh?"

The thing seemed to react to that and then looking over at her, suddenly turned into a perfect copy of a nearby rock. Kim had to grin when it turned back and looked over at her.

"Oh, I know exactly, what I'm calling you."

The creature seemed to tilt, or jiggle and she got up from where she'd been sitting.

"Come on Deacon. We're going to figure out where the hell I am. And how I can get back."

Deacon, or maybe Deacon Jr. She'd have to decide, followed her. If it had any opinion on her desire to go home, it kept it to itself. Which was good. She had a home, an irradiated home filled with creatures and raiders and things that wanted her dead but it was home. With her family and her friends and most importantly, her son. And this world would just have find out exactly how far she was willing to go to find her son when she was separated from him.

Personality: Peter Parker is just your average, every day teenage boy going to school and living his life. Just kidding, that's just his cover story- he's actually a super cool, badass superhero that saves lives and takes names. There, that's better- that's what he wants you to think.

In actuality, Peter is a goofy teenager with a strong sense of right and wrong who believes that because he happened to get super powers, it's his obligation to be a vigilante and keep the peace. Because if he doesn't, then he's responsible because he could have done something, but didn't. He's not graceful, he's not efficient and he talks way too much when he probably shouldn't.But he tries and most of the time he's stubborn enough to come out the other side victorious. Most of the time. And if not, he's still stubborn enough to try and keep going until you tell him to take a sit.

His obligation to being Spider-Man tends to trump everything else he has in life. He's faced many a time with the chance to hang out with friends or do something fun- even with the person he's crushing on but instead of doing what he wants, he chooses crime fighting every time. He doesn't do it to be famous or cool- though that's a bonus- he does it because he's gotta. That's just how his brain works.

When he's faced with anything exciting, he's like an overly caffeinated ten year old. Meet your favorite super hero? He'll talk their ear off. Put him in a battle against other cool super heros? He'll still talk their ear off, because he's genuinely thrilled to have the opportunity. After the battle? You bet your ass he's vlogging that shit and reenacting it every step of the way in vivid detail because he had so much fun. Peter is just an excitable boy who tends to get in over his head.

He's also hella smart. We're not talking straight A's here, we're talking about develop your own spiderweb formula in secret in the middle of class type smart. He's not the best student because he's always running off and fighting crime, but he Tries™ There was a point in time where he would have gladly left school and became an Avenger- in fact, it's what he wanted. But shit happened, he realized that would be a pretty bad idea and he chilled out. He realized he needs to have a semblence of a normal teenage life. A friendly neighborhood Spider-Man before an Avenger... He'd still totes go on missions at the drop of a hat though. That's different.

    Character
    Name: Lance
    Series: Voltron: Legendary Defender
    Timeline: End of S2E7
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki Linkage

    Personality:

For starters, Lance is tiring. He's a highly energetic teen with what's probably the universe's biggest ego and a penchant for toilet humor and fart jokes. He's boastful, impulsive, pretty much conceited as all hell, and he's (wrongly) convinced he is a ladies' man. No woman is safe around him, not even Princess Allura. On their first meeting where she collaspes into his arms, he blushes furiously and commences to hitting on her with lewd innuendo throughout the episode until Team Dad Shiro reigns him in. He continues to hit on her in various ways throughout the series, going as far as to offer to buy her sparkly presents at the swap moon to win her favor. Of course his eye for the ladies does get him into trouble where he ignores the gut feelings of his teammate Hunk in regards to some stranded passengers. Lance immediately starts flirting with the sole female on the other team and takes her on a ride in the Blue Lion just to show off. Unfortunately for this hormone driven buffoon, it turns out those passengers aren't stranded at all but are bounty hunters who are trying to get ahold of Voltron so they can clear their name with the Galra. The girl uses Lance's infuation against him and ties him to a tree on a random planet while she skips off with the Blue Lion. Certainly this dude was thinking with the wrong head and let his guard down big time.

And while one can excuse his behavior as just being a seventeen year old boy, one cannot forget how utterly immature Lance can be. When it comes to Keith, everything is a competition with him. Everything. He's literally convinced that it's a known fact in the Garrison that Lance and Keith were rivals, running neck and neck, up until Keith is booted out. But being convinced of that doesn't mean it's true at all, but when has that ever stopped Lance? He even manages to drag other people into his one-man rivalry with Keith. Rescuing a Shiro in need? Lance wants to be the one to do it over Keith. When Keith and Allura leave the safety of the castle to test a theory of whether or not Zarkon is tracking them, Lance's first reaction on their return is not to ask if they were safe. Instead, this dummy asks Keith if Allura is with him, but not in the manner of accompanying him, but implying that he's asking if Allura and Keith are an item now which, no. Keith and Allura clearly have better things to do at that moment, but try telling Lance that when he's feeling a little jealous. Any time is a good time to fight Keith in his eye, nevermind that half the time Keith isn't even bothered by him.

He also has a bad habit of getting caught up in the glory and praise that comes with being part of Voltron. For every mission that goes off well, Lance wants a ticker tape parade regardless of how dangerous and serious the mission might be. Crowds are his favorite as those are an opportunity to show how great Voltron is and wouldn't you all like to support this big ass robot and the cutie in the Blue Lion leg?

However, while this is all happening on the outside, on the inside Lance is actually more than a shallow teen. He's very attached to his large family that's back on Earth and he misses them dearly. He also misses Earth itself too, the rainfall, the beaches he grew up by, even his favorite food, garlic knots. Lance also takes care of himself, relishing in self-care like facial masks, silky robes, and soft music to help him sleep. It's easy to dismiss Lance as a bundle of impulsive bravado, especially when he rarely shows this softer side of himself. His hunger for glory and praise seems to be a result of him thinking that he isn't good enough, not as good as the rest of the team, definitely not as good as Keith. Sometimes Lance even questions whether or not he is the best choice as a Paladin for Voltron. He has high expectations of himself, yet he doesn't quite seem to reach them, so his defense mechanism is to pick fights with a person he secretly admires (Keith) and be the class clown and be his own hype man when no one else has a reason to be. Lance desperately wants to prove himself useful as a Paladin, but it seems like he wants to push this proof more to himself rather than to anyone else.

That said, he's also very friendly. Lance is quick to smile, quick to lighten the mood if needed. His free-spirit is strong and it wouldn't be wrong to say he enjoys the action packed parts of defending the universe. Adventure is probably his middle name and it's easy to see that he gets along with the rest of the team regardless of his less than savory antics.. Yes, even Keith sometimes. A miracle, really. While Lance is the only one who missed the fact that Pidge is a girl, his moments of perceptiveness do come in handy with him being the first one to be chosen by the Blue Lion and realizing that the Lions are sentient and that they communicate with their Paladins. He also is the one that prevents Keith from rushing headlong into a battle by reminding him that the surface they are fighting on is actually a living creature that's already been injured and following Keith's reckless plan, they would just cause it more pain. Keith actually agrees with Lance and continues on with a successful plan that Lance comes up with on the fly. Lance is actually a better Paladin than he gives himself credit for, but he isn't there yet in his journey to realize this himself.

    Character
    Name: Yuuko Nishigori
    Series: Yuri!!! on Ice
    Timeline: Post episode 12
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki link

    Personality:
Yuuko is a nice person. It may seem a bit presumptuous to start out with the word “nice” as a descriptor, but a consistent trait of hers is how she is kind, friendly and supportive to nearly everyone she meets. Being a childhood friend of the main character, Yuuri Katsuki, she has always been close to him, having grown up learning how to skate with him at the same skating rink that she now works at. Her warm and bubbly personality is shown to have been a constant source of comfort and support for Yuuri, who has long suffered from anxiety and doubts about his skills as a figure skater. She is the first person he truly opens up to after returning to his hometown of Hasetsu in the first episode, having practiced famous skater Victor Nikiforov’s program so he can perform it for her and remind himself of the times they shared while skating together, in order to pull himself out of his depression. From there, she continues to support her friend as best she can, both by keeping an eye on his progress when he practices at the rink and by watching his competitions on television with her family.

Her kindness doesn’t only extend to those she knows well; she’s also able to reach out to those who are less than friendly, being the only person in Hasetsu who’s able to befriend the short-tempered teen skating prodigy Yuri Plisetsky. In the lead up to the Hot Springs on Ice competition, she goes so far as to help him train and give him encouragement even though he’s competing against her childhood friend, and she’s the only one to show concern for him when he leaves before the results of the competition are announced. From there, they still maintain a friendly relationship, keeping in touch by texting, and she is one of several people who Yuri dedicates his program to later on (the program in question being based on agape, the ancient Greek concept of unconditional, platonic love). This just goes to show how much Yuuko’s kindness can touch people, whether they’re her friends or angry teenagers.

That’s not to say that Yuuko’s patience has no limits, though. In flashbacks, we see her telling off her other childhood friend Takeshi for picking on Yuuri; considering how Takeshi has matured since then and is also now married to Yuuko, it’s safe to say that she was effectively able to keep him from becoming too much of a bully by intervening whenever possible. She also has to deal with the challenge of raising her six-year-old triplet daughters Axel, Lutz and Loop; the triplets are mischievous as well as highly precocious for their age, which leads to Yuuko constantly having to scold them for staying up too late to watch figure skating competitions or using her social media accounts without permission. Though she does love her daughters, their antics do often make her frustrated with them.

Finally, it should be mentioned that Yuuko has a huge passion for figure skating. She’s loved it since she was young, having grown up as rinkmates with Yuuri and Takeshi, and Yuuri mentioned having looked up to her as a skater (and at one point she earned the nickname "the Madonna of Ice Castle Hasetsu"). She was, and still is, a huge fan of famous Russian skater Victor Nikiforov; she was the one who introduced him to Yuuri (leading Yuuri to become a fan himself), and the two of them would often try to imitate him during practice. She no longer skates seriously herself—she would have given birth to the triplets when she was 19 or so, thus preventing her from continuing her skating career further—but she still works at the skating rink along with her husband, and her daughters (who are all named after figure skating jumps) have definitely inherited their own obsession with figure skating from her. Even if she doesn’t participate in the sport anymore, she still loves it and is always willing to lend her support to those who do skate, just like she lends support in everything else.

So why did none of you tell me that there's a skating rink here??? ∑(;°Д°)

...okay, sorry, I'm just a little excited since I used to work at the local skating rink back home, so knowing that there's a rink here helps to make this place a little more familiar. So I got to thinking...would anyone here like to learn how to skate? I could charge a small fee for lessons, since I did teach kids, including my own girls. I mean, I do enjoy Pokemon breeding, but it would really be nice to go back to my roots. I did used to figure skate competitively so if you want to learn things like spins and jumps you're welcome to that, but if you just want the basics then that's fine too. Since I've been told that it's the off season for hockey right now, it would be a great time to learn!

...at least, I hope the rink will still be open to the public once I actually get to Mahogany Town. Hopefully I can talk to whoever's in charge and work something out...

    Wait for me, rink! ;A;

    Canon Resource Links: Here!

Personality: As a malleable protagonist, most of Yu’s canon, personality-wise, is up to the player. However, his dialogue options and unprompted actions are consistent enough that you can draw a picture of a base personality from which to draw. The most obvious thing to notice is a certain level of stoicism. While he’s by means completely unflappable, most of Yu’s reaction to things are far more restrained than other characters’, with him often being the one maintaining his composure when things get dire and action is needed. In fact, this trait of his is the key to unlocking the true ending of the game. He still reacts to things that surprise or scare him, of course, as well as to the shenanigans some of his friends get themselves and him into, mostly through what’s implied in-game to be facial expressions.

Something else consistent about Yu, is his ability and even ease to connect to people. He’s canonically referred by others as someone that looks dependable and easy to approach, with nothing to hide, and that draws people to him more than once. Throughout his life in-game, be it through a part-time job, or his home and school life, he forms bonds, however superficial at first, with people. All people he forms bonds with tend to describe him as someone kind and considerate (and those that don’t, tend to emphasize other traits of his, such as him being somehow different from their usual social circle), while still capable of asking questions and making comments that can get to the heart of their problems and issues.

This isn’t to say Yu is, or even can be perfect. He joins a raid by the boys to the girls’ room while they stay at an inn after an incident at the hot springs; he abandons a paralyzed Teddie at a ramen restaurant after Teddie orders a ridiculous amount of ramen on their tab, just to give two examples. He is perfectly able to participate in less noble actions on his own accord and the player choice dialogue of the game allow him to be downright mean. He never really has to be, though, and perhaps and that’s the main point to take from it: he has the capacity to be mean, but never feels obligated to do so. This also applies to his humor: he can make sarcastic jokes that might poke fun at his friends, but never without also being able to simply say something else.

Yu is a person that grows stronger in his powers through his bonds with people that he grows close to. Arguably, this extends to him as a person too; throughout the game he’s described as someone inherently seeking for the truth, someone with an innate capacity for hope. While whether or not he really changes as a person due to the game is up to debate, it’s easily intuited that who Yu already is as a person is reinforced, giving him a place he can always home and friends that will never forget him and, likewise, that he won’t forget.

Starter: Eevee. Thematically, Eevee is a great fit for Yu for two reasons:

    1. Yu is canonically known as a ‘wild card’, someone whose powers don’t have the same restrictions as the others, and is thus filled with possibilities, much like the number 0. This is a good parallel to Eevee’s evolutionary possibilities and how it branches off depending on player/trainer choice.

    2. Another important part of Yu’s role is his relationship with others, and how by helping them, they too help him. This is another good parallel with Eevee due to how it has 3 evolutions that depend on its relationship with the trainer.

Some of us know about this place already from videogames, right?
In fact, games where you make enemy monsters your allies are kinda common. So…
What are videogames here like, anyway? Do they have games with like… Fake Pokemon to catch and battle? Being able to do that for real probably takes some appeal away, but then again, there’s games about stuff we can do in real life back home, so that might not be a deterrent here either.
Has anyone looked that up? I’ll do it myself of course, but I was curious if anyone had done it already.

… and now I really miss the games from back home.

Hey, is there way to get games in this thing?

    Character
Name: Mabel Pines the most awesome sweater maker in the whole wide world!!!
    Series: Gravity Falls
Timeline: Season Two, Episode Fifteen: The Last Mabelcorn <- SCREW THAT UNICORN!!!!
    Canon Resource Links:
Okay so this is all about me and sometimes about Dipper and Grunkle Stan. Oh and Wendy and Soos and all my other friends. But it's super important and if I had enough time I would have put together visuals but there was only so many crafting supplies available.

    Personality:
Mabel is pretty much what you'd expect a twelve year old girl to be like. She likes sweaters, covering her face with sequins, slapping stickers on people, facing off against her rivals in mini golf battles and playing DJ with her pet pig. Totally normal twelve year old girl stuff.

    Yeah.

Alright so maybe Mabel is just a little bit on the quirky side. Random is definitely a word that suits her but it's a good sort of random! She's a bubbling, energetic sort of random that keeps life interesting and always tries to find the fun side of everything. <-Duh! Life is boring if you aren't having fun! There's no reason to sit inside when there's a whole world you could be exploring!! Unless there's a really good movie marathon on then that's totally understandable or if you're in the middle of a heated card game. That's an acceptable reason to not go out. But being with friends is the best! You get to have fun and share secrets and talk about boys and all the stupid things your brother did when he thought no one was around to see! It's absolutely, 100% the best thing in the entire world and I highly recommend it. Even in the face of danger Mabel is always ready with a joke and a smile though more often than not it's just a good way for her to hide the fact that she's more than a little terrified.

At her core, Mabel is a very loving and caring person. Her brother is one of the most important people in the world to her, especially, and she goes out of her way to try and keep him in her universe as much as possible. Each and every person Mabel meets seems to have a lasting effect on her in some way and she very rarely disregards another person/writes them off completely. (Even in the case of someone like Pacifica she has attempted to bridge the gap on multiple occasions only to be reminded more often than not that the other girl is still just a spoiled uppity bottled blonde one dimensional wannabe pro golfer who has no idea what's she's talking about when she says that my sweaters are not stylish!!!!! But I guess she..really isn't all that bad. I think we're making progress. Some progress.) While, like any child, Mabel does have her moments of selfishness she will more often than not give up things she wants in order to make the people she cares about happy because at the end of the day that's more important to her than anything else. Unless it's Waddles.

Like any young teen Mabel has her moments of throwing fits and getting angry over seemingly petty things. She gets upset with her brother for not wanting to do things her way, she gets upset when someone does something to undermine her or seemingly betray her--all things that are typical of a young teen that's still trying to get a handle on their emotions. But Mabel is also very good about learning from these moments of upset and anger and moving forward from them. She's not afraid to admit her mistakes and apologize for what she might have done wrong and it's very rare for her to hold a grudge, especially when it comes to her brother. Grudges are like dark clouds that hang over your head and sometimes they sink down and start to suffocate you until you can't breath and all you can do is stumble around like a zombie until you find the person you have a grudge against and try to tear their brains out!!!

Despite how full of sunshine and rainbows Mabel is, she does have her fair share of insecurities. She knows she isn't as smart as her brother and worries that it's going to separate them someday. (A feeling made worse when she hears Stan and Ford's story.) There are even moments when she feels jealous of how smart Dipper is and she wishes she could be half the genius that he is. There's also the problem with people not taking her seriously a lot of the time because of the things she likes and how she acts and she tries her best not to let it get her down but it can be hard sometimes. <-I don't want anyone to feel bad for me though. Everyone has their own things to worry about they don't need to worry about me to and being jealous of Dipper is stupid. It's totally stupid. We're twins and that's never going to change. We'll never be like Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford! We'll never be like them..

Mabel's main goal in life is to try and be the best person she possibly can be and to make those around her as happy as possible. So no matter what, she will always try and make that her top priority. Sometimes her plans don't always work out but when push comes to shove, nothing will stop Miss Mabel Pines from being the most pure of heart!!!

    [NETWORK]

Hi everyone! Mabel here! I've got a really important question and I need answers. Fast.

[Grinning widely, Mabel is seated on the grass outside a Pokemon Center with a scraggly little Meowth in her lap, said feline wearing a 100% genuine Mabel Pines sweater of his own in bright green with little toy mice carefully knitted onto it. Beside them floats Little Dipper the Minior who..also has a sweater?

    How?

No. It's probably better not to question it. The happy little thing bobs about, it's bright yellow sweater sporting a pine tree on it.]

How many people want sweaters for their Pokemon? Because I was looking through the catalog and there's so many things I need to buy for Little Dipper and the others so I need money and I need it fast! So put your orders in here, folks!

[Someone's been around Stan for way too long.

She holds up her Meowth who squirms before letting out a happy squeak and holds his paws up to show off his sweater.]

I'll even customize them with whatever picture you want at no extra charge! And if you don't know what to pick, I can pick for you!

[Mabel peeks around her Meowth and beams.]

    So who wants one?

    --

Note: I would like to bring Mabel back with her memories of the previously months I hadn't her in game!

    Character
    Name: Katie “Pidge” Holt
    Series: Voltron Legendary Defender
    Timeline: end of Season 6
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki Page

    Personality:
Being the Green Paladin of Voltron states that Pidge is intelligent and daring with an inquisitive nature. While this is definitely true, it’s a summary that leaves out quite a lot about her. Pidge is a genius-level force of nature. She lets nothing stand in the way of her goals and fights tooth and nail for what she wants. At least part of that is a change that was triggered when she heard the news of her family’s supposed demise. A fierce determination grew in her, fueled by her desire to find out the truth of what happened to her father and brother. That’s what took her to repeatedly break into the Galaxy Garrison and search through their files for information, and once she discovered the cover-up, she was furious. It turned her into a near unstoppable force, a big brain in a petite, angry body, and it seems to have almost completely eclipsed who she was before the incident. She has a quick temper and a low tolerance for stupidity, leading her to frequently reach out and hit whoever has offended her (read: Lance). Perhaps because of the garrison’s cover-up about the Kerberos mission, she has very little regard for authority figures and will not hesitate to snipe back when she wants to, higher military rank or royalty be damned. Respect is something to be earned from her, and until then she’ll simply do what she wants/feels is right.

In order to return to the Garrison, Katie used the nickname Pidge that her brother gave her as a basis for her new identity. And after that, there was simply no going back. She chose to embrace this new identity for as long as necessary and kept her secret extremely close to the chest. After months of being called by her new name and going by “he/him” pronouns, gender roles have mattered even less than they already did to her. That having been said, she does identify as a girl. She’s just not the type to care enough to attempt to fit into anyone’s expectations, or even to correct anyone unless it came up very specifically in conversation. Even after admitting to her team that she’s actually a girl she did not go back to being called Katie or wearing dresses as she once did (the latter could simply be because of a lack of wardrobe, but it’s not like she can’t ask if Allura had anything she could borrow - and yet she doesn’t). She’s almost never exhibited any sort of “lady-like” behavior, which made it somewhat difficult for some of her teammates to wrap their heads around the truth when she revealed it. With her shorter hair, skinny build, and small chest, she’s about as androgynous-looking as a person can get and she simply doesn’t care what people think of her anymore.

It should go without saying that Pidge is absolutely brilliant. While no one has ever outright stated that she's a genius, the fact is pretty clear to everyone around her. Right from the beginning it’s shown that she’s able to build machinery more complex than their military has, and she is constantly experimenting with both Altean and Galra technologies whenever she gets the chance. Her knowledge of technology has grown exponentially since joining Team Voltron, to the point that she’s made numerous modifications to the castle’s pods and to the Green Lion that she pilots, figured out how to download computer information through Shiro’s prosthetic Galra tech arm into her computer, written code to translate the Galra language to their common tongue when hacking into their systems, and much more. She was quickly established as the team’s Tech Whiz; a title that she wears proudly. Of course no great gift is without its burdens: her own brilliant mind tends to pull up every possible outcome of a situation, good and especially bad, and it can send her into a downward spiral of worry and overthinking. These moments usually need intervention from an outside source before she’ll stop, whether it’s in the form of a simple interruption or proper reassurance.

Her genius is possibly drowned out into the background by her temper and the deadpan sarcasm that she tends to speak in (especially when dealing with Lance). She can be a complete troll when she wants to be, playfully teasing the others at the best of times (jabbing at Hunk about “his new giiiiiiiirlfriend~!”, for instance) and being painfully blunt and rude at the worst (point blank telling Allura that she isn’t anyone’s princess anymore). It seems to stem from the fact that Pidge is not only fully confident in herself and her abilities, but 4 times out of 5 she simply doesn’t care what other people think of her. This makes it difficult for her to make lasting friendships, as well as her tendency to play things extremely close to the chest when she feels there's a need to for it, as she was with her true identity and gender while she was infiltrating the garrison. Tech and machines and robots are, for Pidge, easy to connect with and talk to. Other living, breathing people? Not so much. But once a bond is forged, it’s just about impossible to break.

Despite her anger, her sarcasm, and her tendency toward secretiveness, Pidge is a deeply loyal friend and ally. She has a bit of a sensitive spot when it comes to the people who are near and dear to her, which often causes her to lash out more in anger than in hurt. And after the incident of the castle being taken over, Pidge has come to the understanding that she does think of Team Voltron as an extended family and will do whatever is necessary to preserve that bond.

[Dealing with people face to face is hard, even if Pidge is doing it over the PokéGear. She has no idea if anyone from her team is here, after all, and she’s hesitant to be sending a general call like this out in case someone here is associated with the Galra or with Lotor. Still, she needs to know if anyone from her team is out there. It’s worth it.

Plus… she kind of needs a bit of help. Which is pretty clear as soon as the video starts running.

There’s some kind of owl creature nestled into the fluffy tangles of her hair. It looks quite comfortable up there, and it’s sort of half-asleep and clearly not trying to hurt her or anything. But Pidge just looks… completely baffled by the little thing.]

So I’ve just turned up here, and a lot of what’s going on around here is pretty unusual even by my standards, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually. But if someone could just… tell me what the thing on my head is, that’d really help me get the ball rolling.

[It would also actually give her a ball to get rolling in the first place, but she won’t mention that for now.]

Um-- Anyway, that’s all. [An awkward, shy sort of smile.] Thanks.

    Canon Resource Links:
The Balance Arc on the Fandom Wiki, including individual storyline summaries
    Magnus on the Fandom Wiki

    Personality:
Magnus tries to do good, recklessly. From a very early age he’s tried to dedicate himself to helping those who need it, without obvious benefit to himself. While he’s nearly as chaotic as the rest of his adventuring group and he’s never going to turn down payment in exchange for services rendered, he’s more likely to take action to do what seems right without a lot of prompting. As early as their first recorded adventure together, Magnus was inclined to rush in; to the point of rushing to the aid of a woman who had previously tried to kill him and his partners for reasons they couldn’t understand and had no control over, or risking death by immolation to try evacuating a town about to literally explode rather than seeking the immediate safe shelter of a well. He can be very stubborn about this, such as refusing to kill one probably-non-sapient creature that was innocent but still threatening the entire plane by its existence. Despite his do-gooder tendencies, Magnus can easily be abrasive to those around him. On first meetings he tends towards throwing out jokes and goofs, often at the expense of whoever he’s interacting with, or at least without a great deal of respect for whatever the situation might be. He improves on this over the course of canon, but his primary form of opening socialization is almost always shitty jokes. He approaches everything with gusto, bringing a great energy and enthusiasm to everything he does. In all things, however, Magnus falls back on action over thought; he’s not an unintelligent man, and he’s been shown to make some very smart tactical decisions in combat, but he lives more by his gut than anything.

For most of canon, Magnus is something of a death-seeker. He’s not suicidal, but he’s accepted the possibility of dying. He dealt with the loss of his wife by throwing himself further into his action-first mindset, and it wasn’t until he was offered the chance to literally change his past that he truly began moving past seeking death and began more trying to live in her memory, living to help people again. While it’s explicitly stated several times that he still sees death and the afterlife as his final reward, Magnus begins trying harder to stay alive fight to live, even after technically dying and being sent on a trip to the afterlife in a fight with a pair of necromancers. Regardless, his biggest weakness is his tendency to shield and protect others, taking the big hits so they don’t have to.

so does anyone else ever feel a little uncomf beating up kids and taking their money

i mean i know battling's like super important to EVERYONE here and that's honestly pretty great

like it’s super important to be able to defend yourself if necessary

and learning to do that in a safe environment is all good, A+, really, much safer than having kids go out and punch monsters alone or something

but i just had what I'm pretty sure was a pair of preschoolers throw their hamsters or something at me and wouldn't let me say 'no' to fighting them and that's just all kinds of weird

and then they just kind of shoved their money at me and

they didn’t run exactly, but they wouldn’t let me like not take it or give it back

i seriously tried setting it down on the ground and walking away and I think that upset them more than losing did, it was probably the most awkward thing i’ve ever seen or done

i'm pretty sure that prize money was supposed to be their lunch money or something too

Unfortunately there is...no consistent guide anywhere for this series so I did a write-up of my own here. I posted it separately to save space because it's a lot. :'D

    Personality:
Chise is definitely not an average young girl and it's not just because of the magical aspect of her life. Because of the tragic events of her childhood, Chise was raised in a world where she was treated like something horrible and disgusting and this heavily influenced her own view of herself while she was growing. She sees herself as a burden to others which is why she stays quiet more than speaking out and giving her opinion on things. She also sees herself as very selfish because she does things for the people she cares about because it makes her happy to see them happy--and somewhere along the way this translated to being selfish in her head. Chise does her best to just be an obedient child, doing whatever others say and doing what she can to appease them even if it never works.

Once she's in an environment where she's able to flourish, Chise starts to show who she really is.

Underneath the quiet and obedient girl is one that is very determined to prove herself and what she can do. She's much smarter than anyone ever gave her credit for and she proves to be a very quick learner when it comes to magic. Everything that Elias tasks her with learning she takes on and throws herself into without hesitation. It doesn't matter the size of the challenge or how foreboding it may seem in general. She's very good at finding a way around anything that may prove to be a hurdle and analyzes everything about the situation she's in before acting. Most of the time.

Without people there blocking her every move and cutting her down when she attempts to do things, Chise proves to be very impulsive in certain situations, acting on emotion more often than not. She cares deeply for her new little family and will not hesitant to protect them however she can, even if it means putting herself into danger. But this desire does go beyond her new family sometimes, especially once she starts to feel for them as seen when she shoved Alice out of the way, someone she barely knew, and took a potentially fatal blow for her. She can also be quite impulsive when it comes to her magic. Chise has been warned many times over that overuse of her powers will effect her lifespan and her energy but she will still use it on a whim when someone needs help or protecting. Whether it's saving two spirits from disappearing forever or protecting Elias, her power is great and very, very draining on the young girl. Despite the dangers of it, she's not going to stop anytime soon. Sorry, Elias.

With this impulsiveness comes a quick-temper right on its heels that is usually one of the driving forces of her impulsive actions. She's starting to really connect the dots as to what angers and upsets her and she reacts the way she thinks is appropriate. A lot of the time this means doing something very big and very dangerous but, hey, that's what you're suppose to do when you're mad, right? She's still learning how to use restraint when it comes to her temper and it's probably going to take quite awhile before she can fully reign it in once she snaps. Until then, she's going to continue to take on individuals like The Wandering Jew, whom is easily more powerful than her, simply because he was a terrible person and threatened her friends and family.

As seen when Renfred and Alice attempted to sway her away from Elias, Chise has proven to be quite loyal to the oddity of a being. He is the first person to ever give her a chance, give her a real purpose in life and that alone makes her loyal to him. It doesn't matter to her that he lied about his intentions for her nor does it matter to her that he could very easily kill her any day. He looked at her as something more than an object. He gave her a home. He gave her things that no one since her parents had ever given her. Her life feels more complete now more than it ever has and she will never betray him. It comes up again when Angelica mentions that she doesn't have to do or say things just because it's what Elias may want her to and Chise responds that what matters most to her is making him happy. To making sure she doesn't, essentially, look a gift horse in the mouth since he saved her life. She does start to grow past this, start to realizing that she can be more than just subservient (though she struggles with it because she sees it as being selfish in a way) and is slowly starting to be more vocal about things and question the things that Elias says and does.

Now while there have been quite a few negative things to come with her learning to let her emotions go, there have been some good things. One of these good ones comes in the form of curiosity which Chise has in abundance. She doesn't hesitate to question things and ask every new person she meets questions, wanting to learn more about them and what they can do. The world was never really open to her to explore and learn about because of how stifling her family was as she was passed around and now, with a whole new world to explore as well, Chise is a little bit overwhelmed and blown away at times. She manages to keep it inside when she experiences something beyond her imagination, opting for a more neutral stance most of the time, but every now and then true child like wonder will shine through. (Such as when she met the dragons. Nothing could have stopped her from being bright eyed in their presence.)

Something that takes a little longer to show itself in full is just how much Chise cares for those around her, whether they are apart of her new family or just an outsider. At first, she does what she's told, what Elias wants of her, because that's what's always been expected but along the way she starts to learn more about him and begins to show concern for him. He's very secretive which worries Chise and it makes her keep a close eye on him which helps her learn how to read his rather inexpressive face. Anytime something happens to him she reacts with worry, checking him over for wounds or demanding that he tell her how he's doing. From there her natural need to mother hen those around her starts to show as she shows compassion for spirits that are involved in a job they go out on, instant love for the King of Cats and a deep concern and immediate sort of love for the grim she meets in the graveyard. Each individual that ends up on the receiving end of her concern will have it for as long as they are involved in her life and she will not forget them, seeing every memory she has of her friends and family as the most important things in her life.

I would like to have Chise start with a Litwick because each Pokedex entry describes it as a seemingly helpful creature that is, in reality, attempting to lure people and Pokemon into the Ghost World. This is very similar to the Will-o'-the-Wisps and other Fae in Chise's canon and how they attempt to sweet talk and lure individuals into the Faerie World. (Chise herself was almost tricked by a trio of Faeries after she first moved in with Elias and later became good friends with one of the little Fae.) Considering Chise is a Sleigh Buggy back hope and magical beings of all types are naturally drawn to her, I feel like a Litwick would just be instinctively drawn to her presence as well and would be a good starter for her/end up protective of her because hey that's THEIR strange human okay!

Could someone explain something to me.
Can the faeries here be trusted? Why does the Pokedex say that ghosts are the ones that will trick you and lure you away?

Where I'm from fae creatures are the ones you can't trust.

[She knows from first hand experience.

Attached is a picture of a Litwick that looks rather pleased with life, the universe and everything, staring at the camera--or maybe it's whoever's behind the camera that the little ghost is staring at--like it's looking at the best prize in the world.]

Is the Pokedex absolutely correct? Or is it possible this is a fae creature?
It acts like that. And apparently they try to lure people to their 'Ghost World'.

Sounds a lot like Jade Ariel and her friends from home.

    Character
    Name: Angel the Siren
    Series: Borderlands 2
Timeline: Immediately Post-Death (Give or take some earlier pokeventures)
Canon Resource Links: Click here for childhood trauma!

Personality: Angel began her time in the Borderlands universe as a pawn, a tool used by Handsome Jack to reach his goals. Under Jack’s eye, and trapped in the prison that would slowly become her death chamber, she had little agency of her own. Angel was driven by guilt, presumably over her mother’s death, and manipulated into believing that her father wanted what was best for both her and Pandora. With no other option, and no one else to turn to,she had no choice but to listen to Jack.

On the surface, Angel is an incredibly helpful. Whether or not it comes from her abilities, or perhaps from acquired knowledge, her experience with technology allows her to quickly unlock doors and allow for her allies to swiftly navigate the wilds of Pandora. Her days on Pandora usually consisted of helping wayward Vault Hunters and other souls on their missions. While Angel certainly does consider herself to be helpful in many ways, much of the work she did was far from selfless. Her guidance was a facade, one to further the goals of both her father and Hyperion.

Though she had no other options, she still holds herself accountable for what she did. Her machinations led to a great many deaths, many of which happened to those she might have considered her friends.

While it would be perfectly reasonable for Angel to excuse her behavior, at least given her lack of options, never once has she done so. It can be surmised that the same guilty conscience that kept her from refusing Jack is what led her to turn on him. In the end, Angel gave her life to make up for the damage she had caused by perpetuating his rise to power.

In spite of the trauma she has endured, there is still a level of childlike innocence to Angel, and an ability to see the positives in most anyone. While most of Pandora loathes the robot Claptrap, she considers him a “funny little robot.” Though she makes a few jabs at Scooter, she deeply respects his talents.

Despite her meek nature at times, and playful demeanor in others, when it comes down to it, Angel is also firm and unshakeable when she needs to be. During the last few minutes of her life, she does not hesitate to put Roland into his place, insisting he finish his duties and end her life. She is stalwart in the face of her death.

In speaking, even during times out from beneath Jack’s thumb, Angel still feels his influence. She often curbs her tongue, avoiding swearing and correcting herself whenever one does manage to make its way out. It is only fitting then that Angel’s final act of rebellion happened to be calling her father an asshole.

In the end, Angel's most prominent trait is her strength. Despite his every effort to manipulate Angel, to coerce her to his side and to make her believe in his genocidal wrath, Angel stood strong. Though she may have done a great deal of things she would come to regret, in the end, she died for what she thought was right.

Angel was strong enough to face death itself.

*Noctis will also be returning with his memories of his previous time spent in Victory Road!

    Personality:
Noctis is spoiled, there's no two ways about it. And it's not because he's a prince necessarily. His father knew what his son's fate was going to be and, because of that, attempted to give him the fullest life possible. Noctis has always been able to do as he pleases for the most part--though when it comes to eating vegetables there are still fights over that--and doesn't really get that it's made him a spoiled little shit. He's use to being able to do what he wants, sleep whenever he wants and in general just do as he pleases. If it wasn't for his companion Ignis, Noctis would probably never get anything done. At least that's how he was initially. Recent events, such as the death of his father and the fall of his kingdom, have prompted Noctis to take a bit more of an active role in life. To be more assertive and actually take on responsibility. He still has a long way to go but he's definitely better than he use to be because he understands some of what's at stake now.

Now while he is spoiled and that definitely plays into him not wanting to do things sometimes, Noctis is just a rather lazy young man. It, in part, may have to do with injuries sustained when he was a child that makes him wear out faster, especially when running across the country side, but he really just prefers to curl up in a bed or a sleeping bag and sleep the day away if possible. When encouraged by others he is capable of getting up early and doing hard labor and, even though he complains, he won't shy away from it. He'll just end up passed out again after the fact because it takes a lot out of him, okay. As mentioned above, he did sustain a pretty intense set of injuries when he was a child, injuries that put him in a coma for a period of time and left him in a wheelchair after he woke up. His stamina, in general, has been greatly effected by that though he does his best to play it off when he can and forces himself to keep moving. (He just may limp a lot in the process..)

Despite the fact that his friends are all common born, Noctis never puts himself above them. He stands on equal footing with them and will always do his best to help with everything that they're doing. He respects them, a lot, and would put his life on the line without question for them--though they honestly wouldn't let it get to that point because he is still a prince. Even though he acts rather aloof and uncaring sometimes, Noctis really does care about people and it shows through whenever there's someone in need or when he's around kids. He'll readily agree to running inane errands for others if it means helping them out and it's not even something he's doing for show; he just really does want to help people. He's absolutely devoted to those he calls friends and will stand up for them without hesitation if they need him to.

After the loss of his father and kingdom, Noctis has definitely become a more determined individual, even if he does have a long way to go still. He has goals in mind and wants to see them through, knowing that the entire world is depending on him being able to take his rightful place as king. Simbbaaaaa He pushes himself more than he should sometimes--see the injury talk above--but he knows that he can't quit. (He and Gladio already got into it once about Noctis getting his shit together and he really doesn't want to have that argument with his shield again.) If nothing else, he wants to prove to his friends and perhaps even to his father that he's not just some stupid kid who doesn't understand what's going on around him. His determination increases leaps and bounds after the multiple sacrifices people make for him (Luna, Ignis, etc) and he realizes after Ignis fight with Ardyn that he can no longer sit idly. He's much more focused now than he ever was before and understands what he has to do and why he has to do it. (And any fears he once had of doing said things, of fulfilling his destiny, are long gone.)

Even though he has made great strides in his developmental, Noctis is still a temperamental young man at core. He gets easily discouraged if he can't do something on the first try and really hates to lose to the point that he throws bratty little fits if something doesn't end in his favor. (Later in the game, especially, we see him and Prompto playing darts and Noctis gets super pissy when he doesn't beat his friend.) It gets worse the more tired he is and he tends to get even more bratty when this happens, pushing the others away and ignoring their suggestions. He so badly wants to prove himself that his stubbornness can make it come off the wrong way and Gladio's nickname of "brat prince" is definitely fitting during these times. It's sometimes hard to remember that he's twenty years old given the way he acts when things don't go his way but he is starting to get a little better. (Carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders makes it hard to keep himself in check most of the time, though.)

At the end of the day Noctis is a huge nerd. He loves to play video games and is a huge sap in the face of animals--especially chocobos--and loves to goof off whenever he gets the chance. (Something that his father wanted. He wanted his son to get that chance at normalcy and it definitely worked.) He's also a bit of an introvert, shying away from attention or big social groups whenever he can, prefer his small friend group and chilling away from the hustle and bustle of the city. He doesn't like to flaunt his status either, and not just because it would paint a target on him these days, but because it's not something he's ever really put much stock in. He likes to be seen as just a normal kid and likes being able to just run off and spend hours fishing if he can. He's far more down to Earth than most people may realize at first--but just wait until he busts out his phone and starts playing video games. Or dances with someone in a Moogle suit. Then you'll see the real Noctis.

    Character
    Name: Hunk
    Series: Voltron: Legendary Defender
    Timeline: End of season 7
    Canon Resource Links: 1 | 2

Personality: In the first episode Allura mentions that the defining traits of the yellow lion are kindness and a big heart, and Hunk has both in spades. He's the one that convinces the team to go back and save the Balmera for no other reason than because saving people is the right thing to do. One of his key roles throughout the series is trying to make his teammates get along; part of his canon description on the Voltron website mentions that he hates it when there's a negative dynamic in his team and does what he can to smooth that over.

Season two may have been thin on Hunk development, but it's thick with Hunk's heart. We see more of Hunk's nurturing nature certainly as he accidentally bakes glass cookies for the team. They're later found useful for reflecting light that allows them to escape from the Galra, and Hunk's response is to smile and say he's just glad people are enjoying his cookies.

We also see a bit of his commanding nature. When he takes over Vrepit Sal's in Space Mall he doesn't hesitate, instantly wrenching control of the place from the mean-spirited owner. He's confident and knows what he's doing; once he's in his element there's no shaking him. Whether it's engineering or food related, Hunk has a center that grounds him and makes him unshakeable.

And that same nature makes him an amazing friend and teammate. There's nothing he wouldn't do for the sake of his friends, and his good heart gives him a sense of genuineness that makes him instantly likeable. He's big on asking questions, speaking his mind in a way that many can't get away with. He jokes with Keith about being Galra at a time when everyone else is walking around on egg shells about it, both because he likes Keith and is genuinely curious. He has no problem accepting Keith's Galra nature.

As the seasons develop, and especially into season seven, we see more of the core of who Hunk is. He's afraid, constantly afraid, but as Keith points out it's actually his fear that makes him strong. Despite being afraid he doesn't hesitate to leap into danger, or to take the heavy hits for his team. He accepts his fear and turns it into determination to keep the people he cares about safe. When the paladins return to earth and he discovers that his family was the only one that wasn't saved -- that his parents are in a work camp -- he puts himself at risk to get out to the work camp where they are. He isn't able to save them, but seeing them there gives him the determination he needs to put his all into the fight to rid the planet Earth of the Galra empire.

He's smarter than most people give him credit for, canonly on par with Allura and Shiro, and while he uses his intelligence in his engineering work and it certainly funnels into his adaptive abilities, he uses it more often with people. He can read them pretty easily and is good at fitting in with most groups because of this skill. He's not manipulative; he uses his ability with people to put them at ease. Ultimately, he just likes people. He wants to use his ability to make people, especially those close to him, happy.

Hunk had a lot of reservations about this place. If Shiro hadn't been there to pick up him when he arrived, apparently he would've had to actually walk across basically the entire country to get here. Walk! He did not grow up fixing cars with his dad to have to walk everywhere the rest of his life, thank you very much.

And then there was the fighting. So much fighting! These adorable little creatures deserved a better life than having to fight each other for no good reason. He scritched his Togedemaru under the chin, grinning as she closed her eyes and leaned into his hand. A few of the Pokemon in their house helped him out in the kitchen now, or in the garage, or with any of his building experiments and he loved it. He just wished he could show his mom and dad.

That was the third thing. After fighting so hard to get his family back, here he was. He was glad he knew they were back at home, safe and sound from the Galra, but... he missed them. His niece and nephew had grown up so much in the time they'd been gone.

But at least this place was really pretty. Sometime Hunk might even hit the road and explore the area. Not to battle for Pokemon, but just to see the sights. Visit new parts of this weird world.

Just, you know. Not on foot. And with plenty of supplies. On a safe route. With readily available bathrooms. Seriously, where did people pee when they were flying on Pokemon for hours at a time?

And he had his team. They were all here together, surviving, just like they always have. Hunk was scared, but he knew if he stuck with his team they'd all be fine. They'd gotten out of worse scrapes before, right? Hey, at least nothing here was trying to kill them. What could happen?

    Name: Roxy Lalonde
    Series: Homestuck
Timeline: Retcon Timeline A7 - After the Final Battle
    Canon Resource Links: http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Roxy_Lalonde

    Personality:
Roxy is a generally upbeat and optimistic person. She’s considerate, willing to cheer her friends up even when she herself isn’t feeling at her best, and though she’s stolen pumpkins from Jake’s island, it was to help feed the carapacians in the floating town she lived in. She deconstructs Calliope’s poor self-image with unending, unrestrained positivity to build a better one, and has helped her friends with their interpersonal problems and drama by becoming a non-player in the whole thing, an impartial party, a place to vent and be heard but not offering any kind of allegiance to one side or re-inserting herself into the equation later on.

Not until Trickster Mode, that is, but that was a clustertruck all around, for everyone involved, and it’s safe to say no one wants to remember that fiasco.

That doesn’t mean she hasn’t done things to the detriment of her friends, or that she plans everything out to a T. She isn’t Dirk. But those actions that she has taken, that aren’t planned and have a less than stellar result, are still only done under the pretense of helping out her friends.

And it isn’t always her fault that they go awry, a failed birthday party for Jane being one good example, but that it’s happened before due to her own actions, or inaction, is something she has since become more aware of. Both in regards to her friends, and also herself.

She may be the one who have kept them all from falling apart due to all of the drama going on, but Roxy herself was prone to the same drama and communication issues as they were. She had a crush on Jake and Dirk both, yet considered Jake off limits because of Jane’s feelings and even tho she knew Dirk was gay, she had still continued to flirt with him anyway.

Her move from being an alcoholic to being sober over the course of about half a year, was done nigh entirely on her own. Jane, Jake, and Dirk all had their own problems that they were dealing with, and didn’t see what was going on with her until everything started to hit the fan. How her alcoholism started though, is something to note. She’d done it both to be close to her mother, besides reading and having her the books she wrote, and also because of a loneliness that came from being only one of two humans left on Earth and the other in question is “an ocean away”.

She holds her friends close and values them highly, and that combined with her compassionate nature manifests into two traits. One trait being her internalizing her negative feelings like anger, rather than lash out at those around her. She’s far more likely to become sad, like she did when Jane didn’t believe her when Roxy told her stories about her life.

The other, is that she is both robin hood, and a mother hen. It’s not just her giving starving carapaces pumpkins to eat, but also her cats. Those hundreds of cats. She doesn’t care about Calliope’s appearance, she didn’t try to fight Grimbark Jade, and she is very affectionate to top it all off. She’s the person who would give you hugs just because. The kind of friend who would jump at the chance to help her friends even if it's not to her own benefit.

That said. If you hurt her loved ones, she will gladly mess you up.

Okay Voltka, you think you're ready for this?

[Despite her being sober now and her kicking her past alcoholism to the curb, she still ended up naming her Shinx after a pun on vodka. The blonde wasn’t quite sure what that said about her, if anything. Maybe it just made her sound a bit Russian, for how she pronounces it. Not that she knew any actual Russian to back it up.

Voltka jumped down from where she’d been laying across her shoulders, and turned her head around to nod.

The look of fiery determination on such an adorable face nearly made her drop down as well just to pet the electric feline. She grinned, a fire igniting in her own eyes as she looked back up to the gym again. This one was the first one, sure, but at least she wouldn’t be putting Voltka up against something like a rock type gym. She’d rather be sensible about it and use those type advantages she’d been studying while training Voltka.

She may not be a trainer, but her Voltka wanted to get stronger, and Roxy had figured that challenging gyms as they travelled would, if nothing else, be a good way to pass the time.

It was always good to keep her mind sharp and clear, calm and focused, since even though these battles were staged and no lasting harm will come to her Shinx, it didn’t hurt to be prepared. Besides, she’d been doing some training of her own on the side, seeing as, ever since a couple days ago when Voltka had gotten sick, the feeling of helplessness had weighed on her like a heavy blanket. Especially since she couldn’t get any of her abilities to work, her strength was dumbed down to about half of what it was if she had to guess, and her sylladex and everything in and attached to it was inaccessible. Roxy didn’t much want to find out if her conditional immortality had stayed intact, but it would be nice to at least have access to her rifle.

Oh well, she still had her fists and exercising to get stronger was a thing she, and every other human, was certainly capable of. And insofar as whatever other passive abilities she might not know about? Well, if the current trend stayed, then chances are it’ll be affected in some way, shape, or form as well.

The little Shinx wove around her feet to bring her attention back to the present.

Right. There was a gym badge to earn and some birds to knock out of the sky.

Maybe afterward she can think about changing her Shinx's name.]

    Character
    Name: Rick Sanchez
    Series: Rick and Morty
    Timeline: End of season 3
Canon Resource Links: here and here

Personality: When it comes to Rick Sanchez, Morty Smith says it best: 'When Rick's around, everything real is fake and everything right is wrong. All you know is that you know nothing and he knows everything. He's not a villain, but he shouldn't be your hero. He's more like a demon or a super fucked up god. And if you think my Rick's dead, he's alive, and if you think you're safe, he's coming for you.' Rick possesses super-genius levels of intelligence, is considered the smartest man in the universe across multiple dimensions and the only known person to have invented inter-dimensional travel. Rick knows this, and he makes damn sure everyone around him knows it. 'I'm not the nicest guy in the universe, I'm the smartest and being nice is something stupid people do to hedge their bets.'

According to himself, Rick's most toxic traits are his entitlement, narcissism, irrational attachments, and crippling loneliness. He has delusions of grandeur on a regular basis, comparing himself to a God who can act as he pleases, never taking consequences into account and even goes as far as pinning his crimes on innocent people who either had nothing to do with it or looked at him wrong. However, he is very self-aware. He knows he's smart, knows he's a bad person. He willingly admits to his daughter he was a terrible father, admits to Morty when he's the one who fucked up or why he shouldn't be allowed to do certain things. He sees himself for what he is, and he hates it. No one hates Rick like Rick hates Rick. His addictive personality has him covering up this self-hate and loathing with copious amounts of alcohol and drugs and anything else he can get his hands on or create.

And like a vengeful God even his grandson sees him as, he enacts swift and harsh revenge on anyone who crosses him. Rick's determination knows no bounds, and he will go to ridiculously large lengths to get revenge against someone for even the most minor of scoffs. Both the Galactic Government and the Citadel of Ricks pissed him off, so he teleported the entire Citadel inside the Galactic Federation prison HQ, killing most of the Citadel and also collapsing the entire government while he was there. Hand in hand with that is his attachments to his family and his desire to never be alone. Be it Beth, Summer or Morty, anytime someone threatens to take one of his family members attention away from him, he goes to psychotic lengths to force them back to his side or completely destroy whoever it is that's taking them away from him. When Morty said the Vindicators were his heroes, Rick got blackout drunk and went SAW on them, tearing them down one by one until they were all dead and shown for how weak and horrible they really were. When Summer started hanging out with the Devil more than him, he ruined the Devil's entire business to the point of making him try to kill himself. 'I may be the Devil, but your grandfather is the Devil.'

Despite how much he hurts others and tries to force them to see only him, he does want what's best for those he loves. So long as they're happy, he'll do absolutely anything he can, sacrifice whatever he's able, just to give them what they want. He actually cares a great deal about those around him. He's described by the rest of the Citadel of Ricks as the rogue Rick, the irrational emotional one who loves his grandkids and his family more than almost any other Rick out there. He will do anything for his family, from the most minor things like getting them dates to the prom or an A in math, to saving their lives from dangers that he's usually the one responsible for getting them into. He sees these attachments as a bad part of himself, just as dangerous to him as his god complex, and as such half the time he does his damnedest to hide them. But, in times when he's in a good mood, he has no issues cheerfully showing affection and love towards his family and friends.

With all of his horrible personality traits he sees clear as day, and knowing how toxic and hateful he is to his own family, Rick holds a staggering amount of depression on his shoulders that he generally drowns in constant alcohol and drug abuse. His most famous catchphrase, "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub" is revealed by his best friend to mean "I am in great pain, please help me," and after events involving one of his ex-girlfriends leaving him for good because of his toxic behavior, immediately followed by a chastising of his family towards his dangerous ways, Rick went into his garage and attempted to commit suicide, before stopping himself at the last second. Anytime he's hurt, or upset, he gets blackout drunk and converts all of his hurt and sadness to a boiling rage.

That's another of his biggest flaws: his temper. Everything negative is always channeled into a violent rage, making him verbally and sometimes even physically abusive to those around him. He'll hurt and kill and maim anyone who's in his path that's not related to him, and for those that are close to him, they have to deal with the screaming insults and various mental and emotional abuse as he lashes out to hide his own pain. This can't even be attributed to his drinking, because he has the same tendencies when he's angry and sober. Even Rick himself commented 'Man, I overthink things when I'm angry.' Because it's when he's pissed off his when his most spontaneous and genius ideas come to him on a whim. It's implied this is how he invented interdimensional travel, and when his Toxic self was trapped, he was so pissed off he managed to invent a brand new element that was an equivalent of electricity. He rarely apologizes for these actions, but if he knows he went too far or hurt someone more than he intended to, he'll try his own awkward ways about trying to make it up to them in whatever manner they wish.

    Wikia: http://attackontitan.wikia.com/wiki/Attack_on_Titan_Wiki
    Annie's Wikia: http://attackontitan.wikia.com/wiki/Annie_Leonhart_(Anime)

In looking over these pages, I want to note that this seems to be sourcing back to the anime, particularly past season one, and I'm referencing the manga for this application. Side materials by different authors focused on Annie that I'm not referencing include:

    Lost Girls: http://attackontitan.wikia.com/wiki/Attack_on_Titan:_Lost_Girls_(Novel)
    Wall Sina, Goodbye: http://attackontitan.wikia.com/wiki/Wall_Sina,_Goodbye_(Visual_Novel)

    Personality:
From first introduction, Annie Leonhart appears to be a reserved young woman who is an accomplished soldier, making top ranks in her graduating class. Over the course of the series, we learn how she has come to craft a facade of indifference to keep her peers at a distance in order to focus on the demands of her mission within the Walls. We also see how this facade slips, and how Annie is unable to remain isolated from the people and events around her. We see that she is a young woman who experiences a range of emotions, from pleasure and sadness to surprise and anger. We see her act on the behalf of her peers even while endangering herself as a consequence. We see her actively engage the people around her in conversation while at other times we see her ignore their attempts to bait her into reacting. We see her making logical arguments from her point of view, only to make illogical decisions based on her emotional ties to her peers. We see her react emotionally and viscerally to the people and events around her. Her basic desire to connect with other people overrides the instructions of her father and her own self-preservation instincts, ultimately leading to her exposure as an infiltrating agent within the Human Empire.

When examining Annie’s personality, it’s important to take into consideration her life circumstances and her relationship with the world we find her in. Annie is a foreign spy seeking to navigate the military and social structure of the Human Empire. To complete the mission she’s on, she has to be able to succeed at passing within that society without outing herself before her end objective is achieved. In order for her to succeed at this, she must build a metaphorical wall between herself and others. As a consequence, Annie wants others to believe the superficial presentation of her as a cold, aloof, and disinterested young woman is the entirety of her personality. By keeping herself apart from others, she aimed to minimize the potential bonds she’d make with her peers. It allows her to focus on achieving what she must in order to proceed with her mission. It’s also a mask that slips over time, a defense mechanism that fails.

While Annie doesn’t attempt to be all that socially outgoing, she also doesn’t seek to isolate herself away. Annie remains aware of her situation and surroundings even while not directly engaging, and she keeps tabs on the people around her. Annie also makes deliberate choices to engage her peers in conversation, both in posing questions of her own and responding to questions or statements directed her way. As part of her role as an infiltrating agent, Annie pays keen attention to the comings and goings of those around her. She moves through her peers and her surroundings, observing and taking in details, information, and social interplay the whole time. She takes information in, disseminates it, and then redistributes that information only on demand or when it’s important to do so. Her biggest tools are logic, patience, knowledge of her own capabilities, and the element of surprise. That said, she most often uses logic as a tool when bluntly interfacing with her peers, and most fails to use logic as a tool when making emotion-based decisions such as the ones that spare the lives of those same people.

Perhaps the most striking example of Annie’s use of logical argument, along with her valuing the opinions of at least a few of her peers, can be seen when she’s approached by Armin in the Stohess District. While Armin repeatedly tries to convince her to assist in sneaking Eren outside of Wall Sina, she refuses to take the bait. Each point Armin brings up, Annie refutes, asking for more information as his claims are ones that aren’t sensible given the structure of the world in the Walls. Armin’s continuing pleas for her to help only prompts her to ask, “Do I… Do I really look like such a good person to you?” His response at that point is what convinces Annie to go along with his plan in spite of her all but walking away beforehand:
“... A good person, huh... Well, I... I don't really like this way of putting it. Because, you know, I feel like these words are simply what people use to call those who are convenient to them. And no one can be convenient to all. You may be useful to some people, but at the same time a bad person to others… That's why, Annie, if you don't help us now, to me, you will turn into a bad person.”
The value of his temporary good regard is enough to change Annie’s mind in spite of the logical inconsistencies with his arguments. This is further driven home when she’s confronted with the accusation of being the Female Titan, where she says, “Armin... aren't you lucky that I was such a good person... to you.” She’s built connections with her peers in spite of herself, and goes against her own better interests in order to better help them when she can - by following them into an ambush, or in sparing their lives on the battlefield.

Looking closely at canon, we can even see Annie’s peers calling her out on who she is beyond her defense mechanisms. Eren believes she's a shitty liar about the things that matter to her (like her father's martial arts training), Hitch believes she's afraid to interact with others, Armin believes she's kind at heart (in the sense that she actually cares about people around her). Her own actions over the course of canon back up these opinions from her peers. For example, someone entirely aloof and uncaring about those around her would not be the person moving to help another unasked at a danger to herself, yet Annie does this in Trost for Connie. Her actions are surprising enough that Reiner actually expresses gratitude that she's alright. We see her horrified in the aftermath of Trost and apologising to the dead, pleased with Eren's enthusiasm over her father's techniques, crying when she fails to capture Eren as a Titan, and when she fails to get away. We've seen her dry, subtle wit, particularly with Eren, who doesn’t seem to pick up on when she’s playing with words and meanings during hand-to-hand combat. We’ve seen her annoyed by Jean’s mouthing off. We’ve seen her provoke Mikasa verbally after Mikasa challenges her to a fight. We’ve seen Annie break down in tears. We’ve seen her break into a manic smile when she's backed into a corner and knows it. Annie sabotages her own ability to complete her mission because she can’t be the person who, per her father’s advice, can “treat the whole world as your enemy.”

What about Annie and her relationship with fighting? She’s a gifted fighter who doesn’t choose to pick fights, and doesn’t choose to create conflict or challenge people. The only exception to this rule is Eren, as her relationship with Eren evolves to where she’s instructing him in how to improve in his fighting abilities and guiding the development of his strength. She occasionally chooses to respond when she’s challenged, but she isn’t the initiator. Annie tends to act in self-protection, not strong arming her way through events (brute strength isn’t her forte), but applying her knowledge and skills to pull through. The only time we see Annie being proactive and bringing a fight to people instead of letting them bring it to her deals with her first appearance in canon as the Female Titan. Even then, she doesn’t go out of her way to hunt down every soldier she comes across, instead limiting her attention to those who are directly challenging her, and efficiently dealing with any who aren’t her peers. Her peers, pointedly, she lets live, Armin being the most blatant example, but not the only one. She’s a focused fighter: deliberate in action, and not a conflict loving junkie. For her to get riled up, she needs to have some investment in what’s being said, or have someone get under her skin on a subject that’s close to her heart (or goals).

Her position among the top ten graduates of her class is also a measure of her dedication and capability, where her drive is specifically directed at qualifying for joining the Military Police. Annie applies her energy into the the point graded training categories (Logistics Progression, Horse Riding, Strategy Courses, and Craftmanship), earning fourth place in the top ten of the 104th Southern Trainees Corp. By the time she graduated, Annie's training in the military was a primary influence on her initial reactions in new situations. While she is always aware of her ultimate mission, she's spent years being trained to respond as a soldier to the events and occurrences within the Walls. Keeping in mind that as her instructor stated, "Solidarity doesn't come easily to her," teamwork is a skill she had to learn and develop to be functional within the military's structure. She demonstrates an ability to work intuitively with her fellow soldiers, moves forward cooperatively with the group, and behaves as expected or beyond expectation within that group. For example, when Mikasa first rallies the former Trainees to rush the Trost Headquarters to attempt to refill their gas tanks, Jean follows Mikasa's speech with a much more pointed one to get everyone moving, and Annie is among the first to go into motion.

In conclusion, Annie is a dedicated, hard working, generally reserved person who has held herself at a distance from her peers in order to work toward completing her mission within the Walls of the Human Empire. She's a complicated person who cares about people in the world around her in spite of the efforts she makes to stay aloof and separate from her peers. She's a trained fighter with an instinct and appreciation for the skills her father gave her who doesn't seek out or instigate fights on her own. Overall, Annie is a young woman who reflects what we know of her circumstances, and who has been influenced and reacts to the situation and people she's lived with since her infiltration of a foreign society at age eleven.

    Character
    Name: Hope Estheim
    Series: Final Fantasy XIII
    Timeline:End of Lightning Returns
    Canon Resource Links: Here

Personality: Hope was really your typical 14 year old teenager who was thrown into a situation that no one can really imagine as all he did was hang out with friends, go to school, and visit a festival to have some fun with his mother (along with being angry over his father breaking yet another promise). He was a very naive, sensitive, and insecure child, whose insecurities tended to stem from relying on his mother for protection and confiding in her, but also being rather distant from his father, who tended to break his promises after Hope had idolized him a lot during his childhood. He can be emotional when his emotions get the best of him, although he tries his best to keep his feelings to himself.

Hope was also your "typical" adolescent that grew up in a place that lacked any sort of physical conflict or warfare. He didn't really know how the world worked, given his age, and so he tended to either hide behind others, clinging to them for support (namely Vanille and Lightning) or he would rather run from a battle. He also tended to run from his problems as well, especially ones that he knew he couldn't change, like when his mother was killed during the Purge. He blamed Snow despite knowing that it really wasn't Snow's fault his mother died, although he did have a slight hand in it.

It was Vanille who provided the emotional support for Hope, in the beginning, helping him try and deal with the horrors he was facing, such as being hunted down like an animal because he was unwillingly turned into a l'Cie, specifically by a Pulse fal'Cie. This meant he was an enemy of Cocoon and he was viewed by the Cocoon residents with horror and terror. But it was when he chose to follow Lightning, viewing her as a sort of surrogate older sibling/mother figure, that he began to grow as an individual. He matured and learned to deal with his emotions better and he also becomes an efficient fighter, able to take care of himself or hold off until his friends arrived. He opened up more, taking comfort in the new friends he has made in the other l'Cie despite how different they were from each other. All of them were older than him, all of them essentially adults. But he became just as essential as the rest of them. He learned to not be so angry at Snow for what happened to his mother, soon regarding him like the goofy older brother. Fang was very much like an older sister to him, for perhaps the same reasons Lightning was as well. Sazh was easily the resident dad of the group, something Hope needed since he couldn't be with his actual father during his run.

Going to Gran Pulse allowed him to learn to also ask for help when he needed it, as shown when his brand had grown a bit further and he collapsed. He had come to believe he was a burden to the group and had become distressed, but the others showed him that they would never leave him behind. His Eidolon, Alexander, showed up then and he learned to control it. It was here he learned that when they (the l'Cie) have reached their lowest point, the Eidolons reach out to bring them out of that slump, opening them up to change and growth.

Hope is also a smart individual, observant and insightful. He sees the situations as they happen and decides what to do for their next step, such as taking the plane to Pulse when the others weren't sure they should go down there or, again, figuring out just why the Eidolons appear at random times for each of them. It's also from this intuition that he realizes that he can't just rely on others, clinging to them like he had been or want to just go back to his old life. He realizes that he needs to think on his own, act on his own, make his own choices for his future, his fate, and no one else's. It's with this new found maturity that Hope finds it in him to reconcile with his father, allowing them to rekindle their distant relationship. Hope ends up being one of the more positive people in the group by the end of the game, living up to his namesake as he gives hope to others, to push them to keep going and defy their fates as Pulse l'Cie.

In XIII-2, as the majority of his development happened in the first game, his personality is only further shown to have grown as Hope becomes the director of the Academy, an intelligent and charismatic leader that eventually becomes the hope for humanity when the timeline collapses. His personality doesn't change much when he is an adult aside from the added maturity as he reveals he still has his moments of doubts and vulnerability due to his time as a l'Cie and the actions he had taken during that time. He wants to atone for those sins and that is why he works so hard to bring humanity to their feet without the machinations of the fal'Cie. It's also fairly clear that despite his doubts and emotional vulnerability, he shows a certain emotional distance from others as it's clear that when he jumps to 400AF, no one is left to keep him in his current time as all his friends and family are dead, gone, or jumping around the timeline. It's very likely that despite his hopes to see everyone again, there's a doubt and fear that he never will or that they may not stay long because it's been happening. Nonetheless, Hope does his best and he is a very well regarded individual throughout the Academy and even throughout time.

In Lightning Returns, he retains much of his adult personality although Bhunivelze had taken his emotions away, Hope often citing that the memories he has still feel as those he is watching them through someone else's eyes. Regardless of his lack of his emotion, his devotion to Lightning and saving the souls of what remained of humanity is obvious despite this disconnect his had up to and after Lightning inevitably saves his heart and soul from Bhunivelze, connecting him back to his former self.

Hope started out as your typical emotional teenager, yet in the end, he grows and matures into something more. He learns that he can't just keep his emotions to himself, blame others for things he can't control and, most of all, that he needs to think for himself. That he has friends and family to count on, to ask for help, and to also know that he is his own person. l'Cie or not, Hope Estheim wasn't named Hope for no reason. He gives hope to his friends and ultimately helps end the fal'Cie rule on Cocoon, freeing the people and allowing them to live under their own control.

RP Sample: Empatheias Intro Thread and Here. I think the first link is just shy of one month, but it's the most recent I have aside from the Victory Road TDM, so I'll link both!

Victory Road Sample: It was all just a bit too much, even for one Hope Estheim. Having someone call themselves "mom", despite very clearly not being his mother, still being in his 14 year old body, not at all being reborn in the new world that he and his friends were destined to go, to maybe live a quieter life, healing his damaged heart from God's touch and all that he had suffered these past thousand years. To be home, again. And, to top it off, he was left here on his own to go on some new journey to... catch little monsters like the one who was following behind him as he walked through the forest? He was, in no uncertain terms, far too old for this crap.

Hope abruptly stopped and kicked viciously at a rock in his path, watching it soar and ignoring his now sore into the bushes. He also let out a scream, one the nearly sent Minccino, his Pokemon, scrambling away. But once it saw Hope go to his knees, breathless and struggling to keep it together, it approached its trainer and laid a tiny paw on his thigh with a soft sound. The boy looked at the creature and sighed heavily, brows furrowed and lips pursed to keep from crying and breaking down completely. He closed his eyes. "I'm sorry, I didn't... mean to scare you."

He gripped his pants at the knees, taking a breath. His eyes shot open when his companion suddenly crawled up his arm and perched itself right on his head. It was so absurd, Hope couldn't help but be distracted by his current thoughts, eyes looking up as Minccino stared down at his trainer with a smile and a chirp. "What... are you doing?"

The big ears, the head tilt, Hope had to admit that it was adorable. He would have to find out the gender soon enough and maybe... maybe more about this world. His thoughts slowly circled back but after letting out his frustrations, however brief, he did feel somewhat better. The fact that he could feel again, cycle through his emotions again, it was frustrating as it was satisfying. To be in control again.

"Alright... you can stay up there." Hope said, standing up once more and brushing off his clothes. He scrubbed at his face and took another breath. "I guess this place will have to do as the new world. I'll learn more about this place... and my place in it. Will you help me?"

Minccino nodded with a cry and wriggled a bit on his head, eliciting a chuckle at the odd sensation. Hope may be the only one here, but he's had to learn the world on his own once before. He could do again and maybe, this time, he'll meet his friends along the way.

    Character
    Name: Shoto Todoroki
    Series: My Hero Academia
    Timeline: End of Season Two
    Canon Resource Links: Here

    Personality:
Prior to becoming friends with the members of the Deku Squad, Shoto is a very cold and aloof young man that is hell bent on doing everything he can to piss his father off. He doesn't want to make friends with anyone in his class, he doesn't care about having an open personality that others would be drawn to necessarily; he's just determined to prove that he can get through the three year hero course at U.A. without having to us the full extent of his abilities. He's well aware that he's the product of a Quirk marriage and basically his father's great creation to try and surpass All Might and he hates it. From a very young age he's been constantly training, kept away from his three older siblings with only his mother for social interactions and once she was out of the picture after a rather horrific incident Shoto shut down even more. It's as if he expects everyone to look at him the way that his father does and has preemptively prepared himself for that coming to U.A.

He comes off as extremely arrogant because of how confident he is with his abilities and doesn't hesitate to take charge in training situations, dishing out orders/suggestions on what to do in various situations since he's extremely good at analyzing and reacting. (Though not nearly to the same level that Izuku is.) While he's nowhere near as violent and cruel as Bakugo can be, Shoto definitely comes off as one of those guys you just want to give a wide berth to and avoid pissing off if you can because he'd probably end up icing you to a wall or something like that. He's also fiercely determined to succeed and won't settle for anything less than first place. (We find out later that he got second in the U.A. entrance exams and was extremely bitter about it which is what caused another student who had gotten in on recommendation not to go with U.A. in the end. Way to be, Shoto.)

Underneath this exterior of a hardass without any consideration for those around him (which is coincidentally a lot like how his father is despite Shoto's best efforts to not be like his father) is a young man that is struggling with himself. The incident with his mother when he was young and the subsequent loss of her in his life (she had a mental breakdown and little Shoto startled her and she ended up pouring hot water on his face because she thought he was his father for that brief instant and was then committed to a hospital by Shoto's father because she "Hurt his greatest creation") made Shoto put up a lot of walls and lock away a lot of memories to avoid feeling any further pain. He never blamed his mother for what happened, laying on the blame on his father since he was the one that made her snap, but he couldn't handle the burden of all of it on his own. He's been struggling for a long time to come to terms with what he's gone through and is going through and the easiest way for him to do that was to block a lot of it out. (Yay coping!...)

After his fight with Izuku in the sports festival, however, Shoto has changed for the better. He's accepted both sides of himself, Fire and Ice, and knows that he can't be the hero he wants to be without both halves. It's allowed him to accept what happened to himself more and show more of who he actually is to his classmates which is a kind hearted young man that does actually give a damn about the people around him. He's not only in tune with what's going on action wise around him but usually very in tune with the people around him as well and frets, in his own way, about those he considers his friends. (He doesn't hesitate to go to Izuku and Tenya's aid when they're being attacked by the hero killer Stain and even gives Tenya a pep talk during it.) He doesn't hesitate to start working alongside his peers more and more and starts to trust more in their abilities rather than assuming they can't stand with him on equal footing. (During his final exam with Yaoyorozu he initially takes charge and doesn't listen to her only to realize that she had a plan all along and that it was what they needed to do in order to win.)

Now that he's loosened up more it's become more obvious that Shoto really is just as normal a teen as the others in his class. (If you ignore the fact that they all have super powers.) While he's extremely book smart, always scoring high in exams and retaining knowledge really well, Shoto can be a little..lacking in the street smarts, sometimes missing obvious things or stating things that are just ridiculously outrageous. (Like when he comments that maybe he's cursed to hurt people's hands because both Izuku and Tenya get hand injuries during events that he's involved in. And he's extremely serious about it.) He starts to spend time with his classmates more, especially the Deku Squad, and, outside of school, he goes to visit his mother regularly in the hospital which starts the healing process there for both of them. He's much more at peace now with everything that's happened to him, prepared to continue on his path to become a hero...just with the friends and family he chooses at his side this time.
