Timeline: Act I, during "Say My Name" after he's shoved off the roof by Lydia
    Canon Resource Links: https://beetlejuice.fandom.com/wiki/Beetlejuice:_The_Musical_The_Musical_The_Musical

    Personality:

NOTE: I play Beetlejuice as portrayed by Will Blum. Due to the nature of broadway, some lines are changed and some are delivered differently by different actors from show to show.

Peoples' first encounter with Beetlejuice is rarely their favorite. Being a demon, he's got little interest in the well-being or feelings of the living, so he generally does whatever he pleases. He sees them as both subjects to terrorize but also a huge burden because the living always seem to make things difficult for the dead. Boundaries aren't really a thing for Beetlejuice, physical or emotional. Touching, poking, prodding, sniffing, he does it all. It's in your best interests to keep your fingers away from his mouth. He treats the subjects of sex, death, drugs, and murder very flippantly due to both his age and status and if he sees an opportunity for an effective threat, pun or a gag, he's going to take it. As a demon, it's established he's never been alive in the first place, so empathy is not his highest stat.

Beetlejuice is a free agent of chaos. He doesn't hassle the living out of hate or for revenge, he just loves doing it. Human fears are fascinating to him and he finds screams downright musical. He loves causing a scene. He loves attention. He still counts negative attention as attention and it becomes evident very quickly with how far he'll go to get a rise out of someone.

Emotionally, he's a little stunted. He's very reactive when he doesn't get his way, has shit object permanence, and extreme separation anxiety. As a dead person, feelings don't really work the same way as they do for the living. His existence is usually marked by an undercurrent of frustration and, at his worse points, pure unbridled rage. And petulance. A lot of petulance.

When we're introduced to him in the musical, he explains that he's been in complete isolation on Earth for an undetermined number of years--unable to be heard by or interact with living people. Scaring the living and teaching others how to do so used to be his main passion and perhaps that was what got him banished in the first place. Ghosts are supposed to go to the Netherworld, not stick around on earth. When you spend so much time alone, you develop a lot of weird tactics to keep yourself busy and entertained. He people-watches in the worst possible way, talks to himself out loud almost constantly, and takes little care of his physical appearance. In the brief time he has a handful of people to interact with, Beetlejuice is all over the place. He's the dog that finally caught the car that he's been chasing. He wants to be best friends and he also wants to bang. He sells himself as the perfect man for the job while also groveling on his knees.

A new habit Beetlejuice has discovered upon finally having people to talk to again is his tendency to overshare about his past troubles. He is not a fan of it and while more than happy to gloat and boast, the second he realizes that he's talking about how his Mommy lever loved him, he reins it back in real quick and pretends it didn't happen.

He's very creative when it comes to his illusions and a fairly accomplished schemer. Once Beetlejuice decides he wants something, it's hard to take his mind off it. The long game is not his style. Beetlejuice is prone to getting bored quickly and bulldozing the whole situation with raw power rather than finesse or skill. He's very manic, right down to his sudden and jerky movements. There's always something to look at, there's always some opportunity to be taken. It clashes loudly with the otherwise flamboyant and cool-cat persona he puts on.

Beetlejuice is very lively for a dead guy.

[The feed opens on Beetlejuice. He is seated in a plush, high-backed chair in front of a fake fireplace. He's swaddled in a green bath robe and holding a pipe in one hand. He addresses the viewer in a sophisticated accent.]

Ah, so glad you could join me. Tonight, we will be pondering the mysteries of Ghost Pokemon.

[A shiny Haunter drifts into frame holding a book. It's wearing a little fez and looking very smart. It hands BJ the book. He flips it open until he finds the page he's looking for.]

Ah, yes. Ghost Pokemon. Possibly the most mysterious of all Pokemon, for you see they are ghosts. A ghost is, if you are unfamiliar, the remnant of a dead person. Or dead Pokemon in this case. Gastly hatch from eggs, so we must ask...were they another Pokemon in a previous life? Or are they simply...born dead. That would be, how they say, pretty fucked up.

Sir! Sir, you can't sit in those, those are for display only.

[Beetlejuice snaps the book shut and whips around to spot the angry furniture store clerk approaching him.]

Alas, we must ponder until next time...SCATTER, BOYS!

[Beetlejuice and his Pokemon flee the scene. The 'Gear is left running.]

    Character
    Name: Tetsuya Kuroko
    Series: Kuroko's Basketball
    Timeline: Episode 75.5
Canon Resource Links: Kuroko on the KNB Wiki

Personality: Upon initial observation, Kuroko is weak, unassuming, and serious if not totally neutral. In normal situations, this leaves him being read as a little weird or strange. When it comes to being perceived as a basketball player, however, it leads to others dismissing him right off the bat; this often gives Kuroko an edge during games as he can use his skills without needing to be concerned about being on anyone's radar. This all comes from his lack of presence, which is so low that it makes him pratically invisible to people.

Kuroko's philosophy around basketball is rooted in the team aspect of the sport. He believes the best way to win and play is to work together as a team, and build connections within a team rather than focus solely on individual players' individual skill sets. His special talent is passing, which works best when there's a bond built with the people on his team, but he's able to perform his special passes with even new teammates.

Supporting others is at the core of Kuroko's motivations. His passes help support the team by getting players the ball from anywhere without detection by opponents, and he works hard to develop his passing technique when he realizes more support is needed. He describes himself as a “shadow” to another's “light”, supporting from the unseen shadows to make one's light shine brighter. In high school, his wish is to make his team the best in Japan, and he's dedicated to putting his all into helping with that goal. Beyond basketball, Kuroko is always ready to lend a hand to help out a friend and wants nothing more than for his friends to be at their best, even when he's been slighted by them.

Kuroko doesn't give off the air of someone who's ambitious or competitive, but his desire to win pushes him to get stronger and play harder. Winning isn't everything to him, but when he plays he plays to win. His competitive nature will even have him behaving recklessly at times; he'll try to play with an injured wrist or while he's bleeding from an injury to his head (luckily for his health and wellbeing, he's too weak to mask these things well). Kuroko will sometimes propose risky plays if it means he think they'll lead the team to victory.

Observant and clever, Kuroko is able to read people fairly well. The more he knows someone the more he can pick up on their attempts to deceive him, either through sarcasm or straight up lying. In general, his ability to pick up on emotions and small actions helps him in both interpersonal situations as well as on the court.

Despite Kuroko's general vibe of neutrality and invisibility, he has comedic and reckless sides to him. Sometimes he'll make jokes at others' expense in a deadpan tone, phrased in a matter-of-fact way in his observational humor. He's known to use his lack of presence to try to get out of trouble, either by running away without a trace or arriving late but acting as if he's been there the whole time by playing on others' difficulty noticing him. In terms of his reckless behavior, it manifests mostly when someone is facing an injustice and he rushes in to help without thinking twice.

Kuroko handles conflict calmly and confidently. He's not afraid of confrontation, and in fact sometimes seeks it out if he feels the need to. When it comes to matters of basketball, he believes matters between athletes should be taken care of during a game where they can play basketball about it. Kuroko doesn't shy away from telling someone how it is; he'll be blunt about things face-to-face.

Victory Road Sample: Kuroko has been in some weird situations before, but this one takes the cake. He recognizes some of the things “mom” handed him—he may not have played a lot of Pokémon Blue but he did play at all—but, to him, the Pokéballs and such don't match the town he's in. Waking up in Pallet Town would have made more sense if anything was going to make sense here.

He's discovered he's been given a Gastly, a Pokémon he recognizes and is glad looks less scary in person than in a blue-tinted, dusty-looking sprite. It's also been very friendly so far, both to Kuroko and town locals who don't always appreciate a large ghost whooshing up to them for attention. Kuroko isn't the most creative when naming things, but he'll have to think of something for his new creature.

Kuroko plops himself down by the edge of the lake and starts to go through his bag to take stock of what all he has. There's a change of clothes, some reading material, other items...nothing weird or unhelpful. He's most fascinated by the PokéGear; it's like a phone he or his friends would have but thicker and differently styled. He's not particularly tech-savvy, but he can figure out his way around a phone-esque device.

While his Gastly goes between hovering over his shoulder and then floating out on the lake, Kuroko clicks around through the PokéGear apps and functions. There are quite a few things he doesn't have access to on his phone at home, so it's an interesting time opening each one to figure out how to use it. After all, no one he's asked has been able to give him an answer to how to get back to Tokyo, or have even heard of it.

Kuroko finds the camera function and holds his Gear up to take a picture of his Gastly. The result is crisper than his phone back home, so he takes a more scenic photo of the lake. Maybe eventually he'll be able to share these with his friends, wherever they are.

    Name: Ember
    Series: Elemental
    Timeline: Post-movie
    Canon Resource Links: Here

    Personality:

    Ember has a fiery temper.

And with that obvious joke out of the way, she really does struggle with anger and frustration. Her father won't let her take over the shop until she controls her anger issues, but she often gets overwhelmed, leading to a fiery explosion that causes damage to the shop and customer relations. It's her biggest frustration and she has a hard time dealing with it.

Taking over the shop means a lot to Ember. As far as she knows, it's her only dream. Ever since she was a little girl, she wanted to take over the shop. And as her father ages, it becomes even more urgent as she worries about her father's ailing health. She's always had a great relationship with her father, and she wants nothing more than to impress and make him proud.

That is... until she meets Wade, a water elemental. While their relationship starts off rocky, due to Wade almost getting her father's shop shut down. Their relationship grows after Ember finds herself being able to be vulnerable around Wade, and Wade validating her feelings. Soon, she finds herself caught between her duty to her family, and her new relationship with Wade. And unfortunately for Ember, she soon finds herself not wanting to run the shop anymore. Which is devastating to Ember, as she thinks that's her father's dream and it's her duty to run it. She explains to Wade that her family sacrificed everything to build that shop, and that she could never pay back that sacrifice. She feels ashamed about what she wants, which turns out to be glassmaking, her real talent.

So Ember is torn between family duty and her real desire to be independent, and develop a romantic relationship with Wade. At first she chooses her family, unwilling to be a "bad daughter". But Wade crashes her father's retirement party, claiming that Ember needs to let her father know her true self and that they should be together, confessing his love for her. While his confession fails miserably, it does set off a chain of events that eventually leads to Ember almost losing Wade and confessing to her father that she doesn't want to run the shop anymore.

Ember has also faced prejudice all her life. Element City isn't built with fire people in its design, so she's limited in a lot of what she can do there. Other elements also can be cruel of judgmental, such as one of Wade's family members saying how well she speaks, or being kicked out of botanical center for being fire. She's mostly isolated to Fire Town, and has trouble connecting with other elements because of this. She's a bit socially awkward, and has trouble making connections with others - even other fire elements. This changes when she falls in love with Wade.

Ember is also very compassionate, though she can be a little cold to people at times. She learns to grow her compassion through Wade, and is deeply hurt and saddened when she thinks her fire evaporated Wade when they're trapped in her father's shop trying to protect her family's blue flame. She's also afraid of hurting Wade, through things like touch.

All in all, Ember just wants to be a good daughter. And that's all she thinks she needs in life, but opening herself up makes her realize that she wants a life for herself, and that she wants Wade to be part of that life.

Victory Road Sample: The rain came suddenly.

A few sprinkles at first, and then a full on downpour. Ember won't lie, she felt fear when she heard the rumbling of thunder and the woosh of rain that came through. Back home, she'd always be safe and warm inside the shop whenever the rain came. It was important for fire people to stay inside when the rain came.

She was out on a route when it came, and she didn't know what to do. So she found a nearby cave to hide out the rain. It was... cold. An unusual feeling for her. She found her new skin covered in bumps and she couldn't stop shivering. Her Vulpix had kept her warm as best as he could, but he could only do so much.

But despite the cold, there was another sensation she felt. Incredible curiosity, as she reaches one hand outside the cave, to feel the droplets on her skin. It runs off harmlessly, much to her surprise. Was this... rain all along? It felt so nice. It wasn't the scary thing she'd always grown up believing - not that it wouldn't be scary to a fire person. But here? She was human. And everything was new.

The rain was new. A silent reminder she could be whoever she wanted to be here, not limited by her fire body. It was new, it was exciting. And her Vulpix almost has to pull her back into the cave so she doesn't get sick trying to jump into a nearby puddle right outside the cave. Something she finds herself really, REALLY wanting to do.

"It's really a whole new world out here, isn't it, Ash?" She asks her Vulpix, who gives a small whine in reply. He's not such a fan of the rain, being weak to water. But he tries to join in Ember's enthusiasm.

Ember watches the rain silently, thinking to herself, she's going to have so much fun here.

-The WoD is basically a grimdark urban fantasy version of the real world, with vampires, mages, fairies, werewolves, etc. I'm ignoring most of the other stuff and focusing on the vampire stuff.
-Most vampires adhere to this concept called the Masquerade, where they make sure the public doesn't know vampires or other supernaturals are real.
-There are three major factions in the modern Western vampire world. The first is the Camarilla, an extremely lawful and bureaucratic vampire government who believes that the Masquerade must be upheld at all costs, and that all vampires must adhere to a rigid hierarchy. Then there's the Anarchs, who rebel against the hierarchy of the Camarilla, but still mostly cling to their humanity and abide by the more common sense rules, like the Masquerade. Finally we've got the Sabbat, a completely batshit insane death cult who rebel entirely against the elder vampires, and who are also preparing for the end of the world when the ancients shall arise from their slumber and eat everyone. Yeah.

    Character
    Name: Ryunosuke Tanaka
    Series: Haikyuu!!
    Timeline: Post ch. 193
    Canon Resource Links: here.

    Personality:

When most people first meet Ryūnosuke Tanaka, they'll probably think— ah! A delinquent. The skittish might find themselves shaking uncomfortably under his sharpened glare, and the stronger willed might notice that . . . he's not that scary. He's just trying way too hard with the whole intimidation look. Tanaka is just that— a young man that thinks he's a pretty cool guy, and that first impressions should leave the mark you would want to leave. He demands respect in a pretty straightforward way, and tends to loom over other boys and make faces at them, trying to scare and intimidate them with his looks, which is what usually tends to spring glare offs and verbal fight warnings (call it some sort of show of masculinity, if you will). He's no stranger to scuffles, or at least trying to start them— Tanaka is a wired second year, prone to disliking others at first sight; loud, hot blooded and easily thrown off his cool into something fired up, angered and ready to exchange blows at the tip of a hat. From giving him odd looks to being the new kid on the block— this guy is bound to make the face at you at some point, and depending on the situation, he just might call you out, no matter where or when.

Tanaka is simply like that— a provoker, and sometimes he doesn't even do it on purpose, even though it may seem like it. It's something in his nature to do; you can bet that when he proves a non believer wrong, he'll howl and yell about his comeback, talk them down with insults and— take off his shirt and wave it in the air in victory. If not that, well— he'll give you his best monk imitation and send hell spikes flying to you. Or maybe you're a friend, and you've done something funny? He'll laugh at it, tactlessly, and depending on the person it could or not cause a disturbance.

As comedic as it can be, Tanaka takes all this and more seriously, and it can tie fairly well into how protective he is with those that fall into his circle of friends. He threatens those that look down on not just him, but his teammates, especially his underclassmen, and uses that to his favor— he doesn't miss a beat, and the day he does back down on his own, you can stop calling him Tanaka. In fact, in such situations he only seems to grow, and the more moxie that's stirred in him, the more unstoppable Tanaka can become. He lacks in composure, but his fighting spirit excels in contrast.

Aside from being a protective dragon uncle, Tanaka is pretty caring under all that macho— he looks after those younger and older than him once they're to his liking, and will go the few extra yards to keep them all in peace with each other. If he has to whip out the FISTS OF FURY, he isn't above it, shown when he comes rushing into the gymnasium after being called by a distressed Yachi, witnessing both Hinata and Kageyama assault each other physically— only for both to get angrily punched out of it by Tanaka himself. He's shown to hold Nishinoya back from doing something more than grabbing and pushing their ace spiker, Asahi, after a lost match, and even go as far as to scold Noya for disrespecting their ace once he returns from his suspension— only because he called him a coward for not returning. He cares, and cares a ton about the well being of his peers, and once earning his respect, you'll pretty much have a guard dog at your heels. He's supportive, earnest and sincere with his words to them despite a certain roughness to it— and also adores being a good senpai (for those who deserve it, at least).

That doesn't go without mentioning the team's beautiful third year club manager, Kiyoko Shimizu, who he sprawls himself out for her to step on along with Nishinoya— the duo drool and cry over her beauty, and despite usually getting ignored, it's what makes him (them) even crazier about her. Completely head over heels, Kiyoko is one of the people Tanaka would fight a crowd for, and quite possibly an outlet to how alone he feels in terms of relationships. It's mentioned that he had once tried to help a first year get around the school, and just one look at him caused her to scream and run away— he's just like any sixteen year old single dude . . . A girlfriend is one of his actual goals, and despite his enthusiasm for Kiyoko, Tanaka is shown to actually be a little shy with girls at first sight, shown when Yachi is first introduced ( possibly because of what happened to him before . . . ). But, that doesn't mean he's a blundering mess— perhaps just a bit cautious nowadays!

We know that Tanaka is an excellent wing spiker, Karasuno's second best right next to the ace— his mental strength is like a steel blockade, making him a frightening attacker that blasts through walls and keeps fighting with his very being, even when he's cornered— and that's what makes his spikes frightening. When he scores, he isn't subtle about it either— he puts on a show. He cheers and yells, he bellows out with every breath his lungs can put forth . . . Tanaka really, really likes spiking, shown during one of the team's training arcs to get so emotional about blasting through blockers that he couldn't speak right. Just like all his other teammates, volleyball plays a pretty big part in Tanaka's life and daily routine, and what's made him more . . . Well, Tanaka.

Unfortunately, all that vigor towards sports doesn't always shine in other important things— school for example. Tanaka's grades aren't that rad (poor all around), shown to sleep in class, skip studying, and overall slack off when it comes to academics, booksmarts and timeliness (he usually over sleeps and shows up late to volleyball practice). Some people could go the extra mile and call him stupid— it's probably true. But if it's support you need, Tanaka's probably your dude and more.

He can be unnecessarily loud and obnoxious, annoying and troublemaking, but if anything— on top of it all, he is a bro, and all you have to do is get on his good side. Or be a lovely young lady, please, just don't be afraid of him.

    Strengths/Weaknesses:

    • strong willed!
Tanaka is a strong guy. Not just physically, but mentally as well. There's absolutely nothing that can hold him back once he gets started, and it's this that makes him a powerful force when it's all about getting the job done. He'll do it his way, though.
    • protective!
Tanaka is a guy that cares about his friends— he's completely loyal, respects them, and keeps a sharp eye out for them. He'll pick fights if he has to, or at least feel like he has to to keep his friends and turf on the higher end.
    • athletic!
The guy's got massive smacking power due to being a wing spiker. He's lean and toned, and while he can slack, he's a pretty adept guy when it comes to moving around (and playing volleyball). That's also if he wants to, of course. ( not part of athletic ability, but he also has excellent hearing )
    • provoking.
He provokes people. Sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. He bursts out laughing various times at his friends for something they do (such as Nishinoya), and other times he angers people with his own verbal pokes and intimidating stares. He pretty much looks for fights.
    • temper.
He gets angry pretty easily, and what he usually retorts to is violence, needing to be held back by his peers.
    • GIRLS.
they are his weakness. no matter if they ignore or flat out insult him— he'll probably like it, and be completely oblivious to any foul play. because girls are angels.
    • What's a book?
    Exactly. He's pretty dumb, s2s.

We're itchin' for a real battle, y'hear me? You think you're tough enough to take us on? [ he holds the camera over and a little bit in front of him, then leaning back and rearing his head to continue his look, and holding up a hand to give the universal "bring it" gesture— the intimidator. the scraggy continues to mimic, growling between her teeth. fear me!!!! ] 'Cuz Jaeger here? He's gonna rip you a new one. [ jaeger makes a hacking sound, like those macho men getting ready to spit except this happens. she's quickly trying to suck it back up so tanaka doesn't see-!!!! ] Think you can handle it? Huuuu— Uh?

[ splat. looks like that earlier spit trail took too much of a dive down with no way back up, sticking to the trainer's jacket with more than enough of a sound to make him turn his head, and totally lose focus! he groans loudly, free hand smacking his forehead as the other holding his device swinging down. ]

You gotta be— C'mon, not again!! [ he sighs, and jaeger hangs her head, displeased with herself— but if tanaka's something, he's a good support, patting the lizard over the head. ] It's fine, alright? Here— Y'need to whip it out!! Like this—

[ . . . no you don't want to see how disgusting that probably is, as it already sounds. at least you can't really see anything other than blurry images or the darkness of his pants— along with the approving squeaks of his pokémon as he spits at the ground. yeah . . .

    this is for real. ]

Y'got that, right Jaeger? [ squeak!!!! she's ready now!! ] Alright, make it count this time, yeah? [ eager huffs!!! alright!!! and with that, he grins, raises the camera to get the angle of his face once more, before counting. ] Three, two . . .

[ one. and there's the face again. the both of them.

    woops ]

    You. Yeah you, tough shit.

    [ please intervene ]

    Third Person Sample:

Ryūnosuke Tanaka was a tenacious young man— He doesn't make a habit ( or even a happening ) of giving up, and even after his third loss to Falkner, he's hitting his head against a wall, both literally and metaphorically, sitting by a building with his back against the wall, neck craning to look up, and fingers tapping against the metallic bolts of his bagpack. Strategy wasn't something up his alley— he was more of a 'charge through first' kind of guy. But what if charging through just never works? Jaeger, the small Scraggy by him, had a type disadvantage— and one look at the Pokémon makes him sneer at the thought, catching her brief attention as he huffs into the air.

"Ppphh— Disadvantage my ass. As if that's gonna hold us down."

Apparently, he just needs to keep ramming himself into it. At some point, their hard work and determination would pull through, he knew it would. Of course, a second Pokémon could help pretty well, but . . . They've made it this far the way it was, worked to their fullest to get it right, and now he's determined to prove it! A type disadvantage's got nothing on them!! Jaeger just needed to get a good and fast start up to trigger moxie. Then she'd be a freight train.

Tanaka folds his arms against each other, shifts his legs, and dips his head down as he watches her snack. He thinks, blinks, dips his head to the opposite side of his shoulders— until he grins, mouth sharp and quirking lips in a dangerous curve, slamming a fist into his palm and booming with sound—enough to make the Scraggy jump.

"That's it!!" The teen laughs to himself, turning over to his teammate. It's so obvious now! "You just gotta evolve!!"

Man. He felt like a genius— and surly this would work! They just had to train, train, and train even more! But with Bellsprouts and Pidgeys? It makes Tanaka lean back, giving a hum. "It just can't be something too weak for ya' . . . We need some challengers. Good ones."

The Scraggy lifts her head, tiny paws holding onto the loose skin around her waist, and then shrilling with excitement. She'll be so cool. So cool. The lizard was quirky, but definitely hard working and simply dying to be cool—! Meanwhile, Tanaka shifts around for his things, shuffling a hand into his bagpack to retrieve his Pokégear, and boasts.

"And I know the perfect way to get 'em over. Give me your best Scary Face!"

Jaeger squeaks while nodding, and doing just that— giving the trainer her most devastating death glare. Hnnnnnn, she growls, and Tanaka roars with proud laughter.

"Perfect! Definitely well done!!" He holds his arm out and kneels for the Scraggy to grapple on and shift herself to his shoulders.

    "Y'know how to spit, right?"

And thus, Tanaka proceeds to prepare to threaten the entire network. Accidentally.

    Character
    Name: Hiccup
Series: How to Train Your Dragon
Timeline: Near the end of The Hidden World, the part where he's falling.
    Canon Resource Links: HTTYD Wiki

Personality: Hiccup is a Viking, from a clan that historically killed dragons. They’re a tough warring people and he was anything but. Born early, he was always small and scrawny, nothing like his big strong dad, the chief of their people. Quite frankly, he was a disappointment and he knew it. Plus he was just… different. What he didn’t have in brawn he had in brain and nobody knew what to do with that. On top of that he’s sarcastic and witty.

All Hiccup wanted was to be like the others. To be a dragon killer and make his mark! To finally get some respect or even a date. Instead he always managed to, well, mess things up. Determined to prove himself, he built a contraption that was sure to bag him a dragon. Getting his chance when a dreaded Night Fury showed up during a raid. Crazy thing was, it worked! He shot down a Night Fury! Sure nobody saw it and he had to go looking for it the next day, but he did it! Only problem was, when he found the dragon, he couldn’t kill it. Finally he had his chance to make a name for himself and he just couldn’t go through with it. It looked as frightened as he was. So he cut it loose, and instead of eating him, the dragon fled. However it was injured and couldn’t fly away, missing a tail fin. This encounter would change his life forever.

While his father was away searching for the dragon’s nest, Hiccup was assigned to dragon training where he was supposed to learn to kill creatures that plagued them. Only problem was, Hiccup didn’t want to kill them anymore. Over time he slowly befriended the Night Fury, which he named Toothless, and learned more and more about dragons. To the point he learned tricks that got him through dragon training without harming any dragons. While in his off time he developed a prosthetic fin to help Toothless fly, though it wouldn’t work with him riding the dragon and manipulating it. This led to a cooperative bond and friendship between boy and dragon, a relationship that was forbidden. Something he had to face when his crush found out and had to convince that dragons were not bad after all. I’m fact they were only doing what they were told by their queen.

The real test though came when Hiccup was given the opportunity to kill a dragon in front of the whole village. But instead of doing that he used the opportunity to show them that they didn’t have to kill then. Something that enraged his father and caused a commotion where Toothless came to save Hiccup. Only for the Night Fury to get captured and used as a means to lead a hunting party to the dragon nest. Knowing they were doomed, Hiccup and his friends followed on other dragons and helped fight off the queen that overwhelmed the fleet. A battle that resulted in its defeat and Hiccup losing part of his leg. But they gained so much more as he had convinced them all that dragons were friends, not enemies.

For several years the village lived in harmony with their dragons, integrating them into their every day life. Dragon saddles and games were developed. All thanks to Hiccup and his efforts. Then Hiccup’s father started talking about him being chief one day. He shrunk away from it, not wanting that sort of responsibility. Then things changed again when Hiccup encountered dragon trappers, led by a mad man who wanted to conquer the world with his army of dragons. A threat that Hiccup’s father knew they couldn’t beat, but Hiccup was determined to find him and change his mind. Foolishly running off to do just that. In the process he managed to come across a colony of dragons with a human who turned out to be his long lost mother, and an alpha dragon that was the king of all dragons.

However, events led to the villain finding them and a great battle ensued. Hiccup’s attempts to talk to the man failed. Instead he managed to turn Toothless on him with a new alpha that could control any dragon. Hiccup may have died right had his father not pushed him out of the way and taken the attack himself. With his father dead and stricken with grief Hiccup pushed Toothless away. Causing him to get caught by the mad man, Drago, who left for Berk to capture all their dragons. After a ceremony for his father, and his determination renewed, Hiccup and his gang rode on baby dragons to get home and save their dragons. Again another battle ensued, with Hiccup managing to get through to the mind controlled Toothless. Their bond able to break the spell the alpha had on him. Toothless then challenged and defeated the alpha and Drago, causing him to become the king of the dragons. The victory restoring Berk’s dragon paradise with Hiccup as the new chief.

A year later would find Hiccup and his dragon riders crashing every dragon trapper ship they could find and releasing the dragons they captured. Growing their dragon population exponentially to the point of overcrowding. He was warned that they couldn’t go on like this and that Hiccup would pick a fight he couldn’t win. Did he listen? No.

Wanting to put a stop to it, the dragon trappers hired a legendary hunter who had killed all but one of the Night Furies. Grimel proved to be a powerful opponent who even used a female Light Fury as bait to try to capture Toothless, on top of burning down Hiccup’s home in an attack. Feeling that they were too vulnerable, Hiccup decided they needed to leave Berk and look for the Hidden World. The legendary home of all dragons. So they all packed up and shipped out, with Grimel in pursuit. The Light Fury, that Toothless had fallen for, even following. Eventually the stopped at a new island and made camp. Toothless growing more and more attached to the Light Fury with each encounter they had. Wanting his dragon to be happy he developed a tail fin that Toothless could control on his own. Allowing to fly off with the Light Fury. Problem is, he never came back, and Hiccup suddenly felt very vulnerable. He was nothing without his dragon. Or so he thought. Especially once they realized that Grimel was coming for them and their dragons. With his girlfriend’s help they went looking for Toothless and came upon the Hidden World. It was there that Hiccup realized that’s where Toothless belonged, where he was happy. Coming to the heartbreaking conclusion that they might have to part ways. However, before they could leave, the dragons discovered them and attacked. With Toothless having to rescue and fly them out of there.

Shortly after returning to the new island, Grimel arrived and the battle for the dragons raged. With all the dragons being captured. Hiccup and his crew having to follow with body suits that functioned as gliders. In the ensuing fight, Hiccup sacrificed himself in a moment where Toothless was in danger. Telling the Light Fury to save him as he plummeted to his certain death, taking Grimel along with him. It’s during this fall that Hiccup was taken and brought to the Pokémon world.

It’s just another day in Pokémon world! One young man, a trainer, had taken it upon himself to welcome a group of new arrivals. The little group is gathered around, following after the tall but scrawny guy who walks with a prosthetic leg. Unassuming but seemingly knowledgeable as he walks and talks, giving a guided tour. His arms outstretched as he gestures to the small town surrounding them.

“This… is Bark. New Bark, actually. Where’s the original? No idea. The town in a word? Tiny. Its two roads over a village and 12 lights short of a city. But the grass outside it grows taller than a house! You could get lost for days. There’s a guy named after a tree who might give you a pet, and a crazy lady who claims to be your mom. She makes good lunches though, and the underwear is amazing. They say this is the start of your journey. Where you might ask? All over! The point? Catching animals. See some people like to collect rocks, or stamps, or even cats. Here, we have something nobody else has. Pokémon.”

Hiccups gestures to his little Gible, the Pokémon belching as if on cue.

“Sure they look harmless, but these little guys really pack a punch! So much they fight them here! All in good fun of course. If you’re good enough you can challenge the masters. Having the strongest and the best is everything here. Whether that’s by training or breeding them. Or you can just collect ‘em all! There’s something for everyone if you look hard enough. And best of all? These guys are loyal. Treat them well and they’ll be some of the best friends you’ve ever had.”

Hiccup demonstrates by giving the Gible a good belly rub. Its tongue hanging out of its mouth while one of its legs kicks at the air.

    “So… any questions?”

    Character
    Name:Jotaro Kujo
Series: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean
    Timeline: Post-death
    Canon Resource Links: https://jojowiki.com/Jotaro_Kujo.

    Personality:
You should always beware the quiet ones, especially if that motherfucker is 6'5".

To the unfamiliar eye, Jotaro looks the part of someone who can and would throw a person farther than they can spit. He's physically strong, and his stand is even stronger, but while he can make a fight physical (and will do so if it's practical) his preference is the opposite. Jotaro is intelligent, quick-witted and perceptive. In canon, he is a professor, an oceanographer, and a (supernatural) investigator of sorts. Even before Stone Ocean, Jotaro has helped investigate a serial killer in Japan (while doing his PhD, no less), and has tracked down the illegitimate son of his mortal enemy to Italy (albeit not in person).

It is also easy to mistake Jotaro Kujo as someone who doesn't care. At first glance, he seems like a callous and abrasive man. He appears in the prison his daughter, Jolyne, has been arrested in and asks if she has the amulet he sent her through her mother. No explaining where he's been for years. No acting like a father. When Jolyne trips and falls, Jotaro reaches out to Jolyne, but Jolyne realises that he was actually trying to give her the pendant that she had dropped and not reaching to help her up. He doesn't even ask if she's okay. He just reminds her that she needs to keep the pendant safe. One would think explaining that the pendant has a transmitter that is actively being tracked and followed by the submarine they intend to escape with would be something to tell your daughter but Jotaro doesn't see the need to until he literally has his soul torn out of him. Jotaro consistently doesn't tell others his plans, intentions or motives, mostly because he doesn't see the need to.

Jotaro's biggest flaw is that he doesn't express himself. Ironically, he thinks he's easy to read (he's not) and doesn't think it's necessary to portray how he feels further. He doesn't tell people what he's planning or how he feels. Jotaro never explicitly shows how much he loves his mother and grandfather, even though he respects them both. Similarly, his neglect of both his wife and daughter stems from a need to protect them from the supernatural world of Stands. Naturally, he explains none of this, leading to a divorce and a strained relationship with Jolyne. In fact, Jotaro was so focused on getting Jolyne out of prison, that he actually seemed stunned when she finally called him out on being an absent father.

Despite his stoic exterior, Jotaro has a lot of bad one-liners a gentle heart and a strong sense of justice. If someone is in trouble right in front of him (or if his family is involved), Jotaro will do the right thing, come to their aid and he will not hesitate to sacrifice himself to do so. The biggest evidence of this is when he was facing the final antagonist of Stone Ocean. He could have killed them but he chose not to, opting to instead push his daughter out of harm's way instead.

Above everything, Jotaro is determined and everything he does is for one goal and one goal only: to protect his family. He constantly pushes his body past its limits for the people he loves and has put himself in mortal danger to protect his friends and family. He even survived for a couple of minutes after having his soul ripped out in order to make sure Jolyne would have a safe escape route out of prison. However, as a consequence, to protect his family, Jotaro also pushes them away so they can't be hurt. For years, he constantly works to near-death to protect them while emotionally they drift further and further away.

Until he dies alone, bleeding out into the ocean.

Victory Road Sample: Jotaro remembers his eyes filling with red. Then it going black. If he tries hard enough, he can vaguely recall the smell of blood and then salt water filling into his skull as he collapses into the ocean...

Pucci was right - his greatest weakness was his daughter. He was two steps behind. Two steps too late.

But... I know Dad's gonna come save me. He'll be here, definitely. Dad will be here soon... to save me...

    -------

Jotaro stares at the ceiling, blurry-eyed and groggy. What was that? Was he dreaming? Or was he waking up from another coma? He's not sure but this is definitely not somewhere he's familiar with. The large man grimaces as he gets out of the tiny and cramped bed, and brings his hand over the left side of his face. From the top of his forehead to his chin, there's a deep scar Jotaro didn't remember getting over his multiple adventures. But before Jotaro can even comprehend what's going on, the door opens and out steps a woman, perhaps a decade younger than he is. An enemy? Or is it a hallucination? Fuck... he's not in the mood for this.

    "Oi, woman. Where am I?"

But 'Mom' is a trained professional who doesn't take questions or 'fuck offs'. Despite Jotaro's towering height and build she gets him out of the house, and somehow the door holds when Jotaro violently slams his fist against the wood, demanding Mom to give him some answers.

It's fruitless, of course, so Jotaro is left out in the unfamiliar town, bag in hand. Where was this? What was this? Heaven? Hell? A Stand Attack? Jotaro cautiously looks around, half-ready for an enemy to jump out and kill him. This has to be a trick, right? Right? He balls his fist so hard it shakes. He needs answers now. As far as he knows, his only daughter is in danger and-

"Star Platinum!" Jotaro throws the bag aside with the war cry. The bag slams against the ground and there's a violent flash of light.

But his partner isn't brought forth. The familiar visage of his wild-haired spirit (his very soul) is nowhere to be seen. Instead, in front of him is an empty Pokeball that's rolled out of his bag and a floating, light blue dolphin.

    "Finizen!"

"... You're not Star Platinum." As he says the stand's name again, the creature (Finizen?) chitters excitedly, like a dog hearing their master call their name. Jotaro's good at reading people and animals, and he can immediately tell that the Finizen thinks he's calling it Star Platinum - Fucking idiot.

Jotaro holds out his hand and the Finizen immediately floats over, nuzzling it affectionately. It doesn't feel like a stand... Maybe they weren't in battle?

"Yare Yare..." Jotaro's not sure what it is. Maybe it's the creature's adorable appearance (he does love dolphins almost as much as starfish). Maybe it's cheery background music that's weirdly playing around him. Maybe it's how peaceful everything is... but he takes a moment to breathe. Right... so this wasn't a battle... so where was this?

He needs to get information. He needs to ask around and figure out what was going on. The man pats the Pokemon on the head once more and then starts to walk away, looking for someone else to give him answers. However, the creature 'swims' through the air after him, jolly as ever. Jotaro frowns over his shoulder.

    "Are you following me?"

"Finizen!" Thankfully, Jotaro is used to understanding mono-word speech and knows a 'yes' when he hears one. The man stares at the dolphin for a long moment before he sighs and turns away.

"Fine. I need help getting answers, anyway." He backtracks and scoops up the bag, the Finizen's ball included. "I need to find my daughter, Jolyne. So if you're going to follow me, make sure you help me out... Star."

    "Finizen!"

    Canon History:
The world of Magitroika is, superficially, much like our own. In the broad strokes history has played out in the same way, with most religions, countries, and cultures remaining intact. The largest difference is the presence of magic, and the planes of reality that give this canon it's name. In simple terms, the planes are connected in a balance of a triangle, with the Earth we know in the center and the three realms of fae, angels, and demons surrounding. The interactions of energy between each realm (both magical and physical) are complex and incredibly interesting...but not really important for these purposes. What is important is that while some religions make claims of one, two, or all of these being divine in origin, such cannot be proven and is accepted in the academic community as being a specious claim at best. Of course, this doesn't stop the public from allowing such ideas to color their view of both the extraplanar entities and those humans who inherited their bloodlines, for better or worse.

In early history, magic was a well known and common part of life. However, as society progressed and trade expanded further than 'Olaf just down the river has some eggs he can spare', certain ancient parties began to spread their influence and keep esoteric realities under wraps. Over the ensuing centuries, vampires created a web of power that threaded through nearly every civilized nation, quietly steering events for the personal gain of various generational factions. It wasn't a perfect secret, but the balance of power remained stable for several thousand years, even through the discovery of the Americas. However, as technology advanced and communities could rapidly communicate across longer and longer distances, the illusion was starting to slip, and around the time of the industrial revolution a decision was made to allow the rediscovery of supernatural forces in a controlled manner, for both the safety of the public and to keep some measure of control over the world governments.

These days, magic is treated like any other field of science, though one that is couched heavily in long-established symbolic correspondences and more than a few head-scratching questions about the relationship between sentient will and reality. While some sentient beings of Earth such as dragons and elementals can use what is called 'natural magic' through focused will, humanity uses a practice called 'ritual magic' in order to manipulate not only the red magic that is tied to their plane, but also the green, white, and black magics of the three other realms. The practice is common enough to be part of the average school curriculum, and most people have a basic understanding of how to execute very simple spells. Basic rights for intelligent zombies, ghosts, and other forms of undead were fought for and won in the late thirties, and in recent years there has been a surge of protest against bigotry towards werewolves and extraplanar-descended humans, a movement that marches alongside the fight against more mundane racism, sexism, and similar prejudices.

    Character History:
For the first few years of their life, Chip was raised alone by their mother, a human who had a brief but turbulent relationship with a half-demon that left her paranoid and fearful of demonic influence. From the first moment Chip began to exhibit the power their blood granted them, she scolded them and tried to force them to suppress any evidence they were anything but human. As they grew older they learned more and more to hate their heritage, and by extension themself. While their mother did care for them, her personal traumas left their mark on Chip as well, and when she found a new husband things only grew worse. While he was kind and loving to their mother, for Chip the entrance of their step-father into their life marked the beginning of an even more vicious campaign to squash out the demon blood in them--or, perhaps, to simply punish them for existing. The punishments their step-father laid out for any time they misbehaved (all blamed on their 'evil nature') were extreme and ranged from locking a white-aligned and painful 'protection' charm onto Chip's arm to long periods locked in isolation, often multiple days in length. When they were ten, Chip finally found the courage to run away from their abusive home life, and for several weeks they lived on the streets doing their best to avoid police or any other authority figures.

However, one night they happened to fall asleep in the alleyway behind the owner of an occult supplies store. Grant discovered Chip there and, after a day or so of persuasion, Chip agreed to come inside and stay with Grant for a while. Chip did not entirely trust this situation to last, as their demonic nature would show itself and force them to flee or face the same they had dealt with at home--or worse. But to Chip's shock and confusion, when Grant realized they had a negative reaction to contact with quartz (a common white magic amplifier) he expressed only sympathy and understanding. Even when Chip let their aggression get the better of them he was calm and never struck them, instead talking them down out of their rages and helping them to reason through their feelings. Soon Chip learned part of why Grant himself was so tolerant of their issues: he himself was a werewolf, and in his youth struggled with similar aggression issues and prejudice from society at large. As the weeks wore on Chip grew increasingly attached to Grant, and was fearful for anything that might threaten their place in his home.

Soon they would face just one such threat. Around the same time that Chip was invited into Grant's home, he had been guilted into assisting a man by the name of Foster in a highly illegal but theoretically impossible necromantic ritual to raise himself as a zombie under his own control. Chip had known of Foster and distrusted him for many reasons, but the tension came to a head when Foster, in a fit of psychotic delusion brought on by the disease physically destroying his brain, became convinced that Grant was going to turn him in to the authorities and made an attempt on his life. Chip saw this and broke into a rage so strong that they forgot everything from the moment they saw Foster stab out Grant's eye to when Sophie, a mutual acquaintance of the two men, pulled them forcefully off of Foster's profusely bleeding form. While Sophie and Grant tried to figure out what to do about the situation, Chip fled from the store.

For several days, they remained missing. Running and hiding where they could, Chip was completely ready to leave the tiny family they had been building behind. They'd just proven that they couldn't be trusted, and they were terrified of how close they had come to killing someone, even if they hated that person. However, they aren't able to hide forever, and eventually Sophie finds Chip again and talks to them about what happened. She explains that Grant had assumed that Chip ran away because it was Grant that hadn't been acceptable, and that he didn't blame them for what happened at all. She also talks to them a bit about her own neglected background, and encourages them to come back to the shop. Chip reunites with Grant, finally admitting to themself that they really do love him like a father.

After this, Grant tells Chip that he had been speaking with CPS for a week prior out of concern of what he had been able to work out of their history, and asks them to speak with the case worker that has taken on the case. Chip agrees, once Grant promises them that they won't have to go back to their old family if they don't want to, and over the next few weeks they interview with both the case worker and a therapist to build a case for Chip being placed under Grant's legal custody. Chip is nervous about the whole process, but with Grant's encouragement they answer the questions as honestly as they can. Most of the preparation goes over their head, but on the day of the trial Chip is terrified. It's the first time in two months that they've seen their mother and step-father, and despite every reassurance they're sure that the judge will send them back and they'll never see Grant again. However, the worry turns out to be completely unfounded, and the judge rules in Grant and Chip's favor--they have a new dad, and a new life to look forward to.

    Personality:
Chip is a very difficult child to get to know. Prickly at best and aggressively contrary at worst, they are not inclined to trust and assume the worst of any situation regardless of the facts. Their temper, partially due to their demonic blood but mostly a run-of-the-mill product of their traumas, is easily provoked and they often get themself into fights over completely ridiculous things. This is simultaneously a defense mechanism and a source of self-hatred for Chip, as they isolate themself through the proof of how 'evil' they are. They tend to act before they think, running head-first into any situation without thinking about the consequences. While they do hold grudges, Chip is not particularly inclined to think that others are irredeemable for their actions--rather, it is Chip themself that brings out the bad things in others, and any harm that comes to them is only what they are owed for their existence.

As a result, Chip is terrified of both their own nature and any authority figure that is painted as being 'good'. This is particularly true for religious figures or those who are aligned to white magic, whether through blood or personal allegiance. They have suffered abuse through the use of white magic in the past, and anything that even smells vaguely of angelic power will have them cowering or lashing out, depending on the immediate danger they perceive. Chip has no faith in their own self-worth or their ability to do anything but harm, and any compassion they receive is met with confusion and disbelief.

Chip does not trust easily, especially adults. With a history of abuse, neglect, and growing up in a society that often paints not only their magical heritage but also their status as mixed-race as lesser, they tend to assume that no matter the situation they will be made the enemy, and that anyone who sees them will assume the worst. They yearn for positive relationships, as evidenced by how swiftly they latched onto Grant and how long they tried to defend their mother and step-father's actions against them, but opening up to people leaves them in a position of weakness that they are afraid to allow. They are more willing to open up to those they consider closer to them in terms of status, either children or other 'unsavory' magical types.

Even given all of this, however, Chip is still a kind and caring person. They hate themself because they want with all their heart to be good and help the people they care about. They save scraps of food to feed to stray animals because they don't want them to go hungry, and climbed down into the basement where Grant locks himself up during full moons because they were worried he would be lonely down there. When they care for someone they will go to any lengths to protect them, including throwing themself into harm's way and fighting someone twice their size. It takes a lot for them to admit they care about someone, but once they do it would take far, far more for them to stop caring for that person. Chip might run away for that person's sake, if they perceive themself as a danger, but if a loved one was in need they would do anything they could to help. Chip might not be able to understand why anyone would care about them in return, but those who do are treasured for life.

The video opens to Chip with their Salandit sitting on their head and a Sentret curled up in their lap. They look concerned, and juggle their hold on the Gear for a moment before they speak.

"Okay, so, I know this place's rules are all weird and the names are different but I know all the Paliens stuff really, really by heart and...I mean, Lazzo's a Toxic-Pyro, he makes sense, and Dad's got a Earth-Cryo little pig guy, but I just caught this--um, hang on..."

The camera tilts off while Chip reaches for their Pokegear, tapping a few buttons before the automated voice chimes with 'Sentret, the Stout Pokemon'.

"Sentret! Sentret, right. Like I love her a lot and she's really sweet, but she...she's only got one type? It just says 'Normal'." Chip pulls Sentret closer, who chirrups and looks up at them, while Lazzo stares and flicks out his tongue. "Is she okay? She's not broken or sick or anything, is she?"

    Character
    Name: Rui Kamishiro
    Series: Project Sekai: Colorful Stage
Timeline: Post- A Sorrowful Farewell at Curtain Call
    Canon Resource Links: here

Personality: Rui Kamishiro grew up known as both a prodigy by adults and a weirdo by his peers. This has left him both confident in his abilities, but lonely (in one of his character songs, he mentions that he’ll never be lonely again, referencing his friends in Wonderlands x Showtime. He also is in last place in terms of how many people he canonically has cr with). Before canon started he only really had two people he considered friends, and neither of them chose to be friends with him at first (Nene, a childhood friend that was forced into being his friend by their parents, but they became actual friends when they realized their love of musical theater, and Mizuki a transwoman who was also ostracized by the rest of the students, so the two both ate on the roof alone at the same time, so they eventually started chatting during lunch). So when he finds people who are actually willing to spend time with him, even when he gets excited, he gets attached pretty quickly. This can be seen in the main story when Tsukasa gets mad at Nene, Rui is the one who feels betrayed, and doesn’t forgive Tsukasa right away, even after Nene forgives him. Which leads to another point, Rui doesn’t forgive easily.

Rui is cunning, clever, and smart, but will often throw those traits out for impulsive things that sound fun. That being said, the safety of his friends is his top priority, even in those instances (ie: when Tsukasa got hurt Rui changed his entire vision for the play to be safer. Also, Rui testing props that he wasn’t set to use because they were going to be performing outside and the weather changed, resulting in Rui getting hurt.) Even if safety is his main priority, he won’t always admit that, especially if it means he can be a troll in the process. 2nd on his list of priorities (just barely) is putting on a good show always (this is referenced as being important to him in too many places in the game to cite). He’ll even manipulate people in order to make sure a show goes well.

He is also a troublemaker. He often trolls his friends, mainly targeting Tsukasa, both because Tsukasa is an easy target, and also because he’s pretty sure Tsukasa won’t leave him. He’ll also put on street acts, usually he’ll make sure they are on public property ( in one of his area conversations, he admits that he’ll go right to the edge of private property and the security for the place can’t do anything), but before he was hired by Phoenix Wonderland to be a part of Wonderlands x Showtime, he would break into the park to perform street acts there too, and then run when security finds him. During these street acts he is usually the only human actor, the rest are robots and drones that he makes himself.

Rui is endlessly curious, and learns best with a hands-on approach, often taking things apart to learn how they work (Tsukasa wouldn’t let him take apart the talking plushies in the Wonderland Sekai). He won’t let something go if it catches his interest. His main fixations are directing musical theater, acting in musical theater, robotics, gardening, and platypuses. In a flashback he is cited saying that he finds TV shows and movies boring.

While he is observant when it comes to other people, he’s pretty oblivious about himself. Even though he always casts himself as either the villain, the lonely eccentric, or both, which shows how he actually sees himself. Also, even though there were hints to how fast he attached himself to Wonderlands x Showtime in the main story, it took until he was offered a great step towards achieving his dream job but leaving his friends in the process, accepting it, and almost crying in front of the person who offered the job, causing that person to retract the offer and straight up tell him that he clearly doesn’t actually want to accept it.

[ The city! Rui could see it from here! The forest they had been traveling through had been so dense it was hard to imagine seeing civilization again. They were almost out of supplies too. He might have even been forced to eat the plants that they could find in there if they stayed any longer. And most scavengeable plants in there were close enough to vegetables that Rui wanted to avoid that outcome at all costs. He turns to his companion pokemon, juggler cape swooshing out behind him, and arms swinging in large gestures as he talks. ]

Nepeta, look! We’re almost there! What should we do first when we get there? Eat? Rest? Shop? Do a street act? Actually, both of us being a little roughed up from our travels would work well for some of our acts, don't you think? Perhaps we should do one of them first. You aren't too tired from our travels, are you? We can always try one of our more simple or shorter shows if you are getting tired.

[ The Sprigatito by his side didn’t seem as happy as Rui to leave nature for the cold, hard, concrete of a city, but she followed along dutifully. Its not everyday that Rui is so openly excited after all, so she'll put on a brave face for him. Yet, Rui notices her displeasure anyway. He calms down slightly, but keeps a smile on his face. He kneels down to get closer to eye level to his pokemon. ]

Think of it, Nepeta. We can put on great shows for so many people here. We’ve worked hard for this, haven’t we? And its not like we’ll stay here forever. Once we’ve put on a few shows and have rested, we’ll head out again. We still have more to learn about this place, after all.

[ In that order. Rui’s priorities are straight. ]

Series: New Mobile Report Gundam Wing
    Timeline: After Endless Waltz
    Canon Resource Links:
    Canon Link

    Personality:
On the surface, Quatre is definitely the nicest of five Gundam pilots. He seems to want to be a friend to everyone. He attempted to befriend Trowa - usually considered a loner - first. By the end of the series, he has a working relationship with the four other pilots, some better than others. Duo and Trowa seem to be his standard "team" when they are doing certain missions. He is usually polite to others, holding up his upper class upbringing even in the worst of situations.

Quatre is the leader of group, initially unofficially, but Heero basically nominates him when he decides to put Zero System back into Quatre's Gundam. (Zero System explained more below) He also became the leader of Maguanacs because he had helped the leader Rashid Kurama and captured a traitor in their group, and the group pledged their allegiance to him. As a leader, he makes himself very approachable and he has a close friendship with Rashid. Even though he is the leader, the more senior of the Maguanacs tend to treat Quatre as a younger brother, which he has no issue with. He has a good handle on tactics and in fighting situations is able to keep his cool. Part of his relationship with the Maguanacs stems from when he tried to run away to Earth. He was rebellious at a young age and it was the Maguanacs who made him feel that his life had value when he thought he was just a tool of his father's.

He is confident in his abilities, perhaps overly confident, as he is the least experienced of the five and not knowing some of his limitations. As an example, he essentially snuck away from the Maguanacs to fight in the battle where he met the other pilots, not allowing them to come with him. He also attempted to tie up the Maguanac's traitor (it didn't work; he still got out and attacked Rashid) and piloted Rashid's mobile suit with no previous experience at twelve or thirteen after living what might be assumed a very sheltered life.

Despite the fact that he fights, he still holds onto the idea of peace as an overall goal. This is clearly part of his family's values, the Winners being known as a family of pacifists. However, he does have some experience with the fact that just talking doesn't work, having seen fighting first hand briefly when he tried to run away to Earth, even participating in it when he lead the Maguanacs. He also learned from both the Maguanacs and the scientist who would later build his Gundam that is important to live a life one can be proud of and he has taken that to heart, turning stopping the needless violence in his world as the purpose of his life. He also generally demonstrates respect even for his enemies, acknowledging them as human beings and not just a machine, usually by asking them to surrender and live.

Quatre's personality though does have some dangerous aspects to it. First off, he is very quick to blame himself for things. There is a reason that Duo whispers to Heero that Quatre would blame the lack of air in space on not trying hard enough. He does this at multiple points during the series, wondering if he's tried hard enough when the situation was outside of his control.

When it comes to his father, Quatre demonstrates other traits that he doesn't show to others. When he was younger, Quatre showed early he was rebellious, running away from home with enough money to charter a shuttle so that he could get to Earth. He was also convinced he was a puppet of his father's - since all of his sisters were test tube born and his father never told him that he wasn't. He'd continue to remind his father of that just to make him mad, essentially "you never expected your tool to think for itself". When he returns home at fifteen, he and his father are very much at odds over his desire to fight, Zayeed believing that peace can be achieved with total pacifism.

Quatre is also easily influenced in two different ways. The first is directly, through mind control. Quatre has been brainwashed in the side stories to attack his teammates, barely recognizing Trowa and Duo. The second is situational. Of the five pilots, Quatre displays a lot of instances of having difficulty coping with being a fighter. He tends to rely on his "space heart" - possibly a form of empathy though never fully explained - for information, including about Trowa. In fact he believed so much that what his "space heart" was telling him was correct he ignored Rashid's warnings about Trowa. He also attributes human attributes to his Gundam more than the others, including thinking the reason the hatch of his Gundam opened when he tried to self-destruct was because Sandrock was trying to save him, not because the scientist who built it had put in that fail safe to keep him alive.

His instability comes to a head when he witnesses his father die in front of him. Despite the fact that he and his father are at odds, based on his conversation with Iria - one of his 29 older sisters - one could say that he is still seeking his father's approval, to be seen as an adult. He also still cared about his father, heading out in a shuttle to try and stop him when Zayeed decided to detach one of their mining blocks because the colonies had become weaponized, prompting the destruction of the mining satellite.

At this point Quatre disconnects severely from reality and the mission turns upside-down in his mind, prompting a rampage on the colonies. Part of his personality change was fueled by the Zero System, a particularly dangerous system that shows the pilot simultaneously all possible outcomes to a battle which usually leads to hallucinations and temporary insanity. However, it still must be pointed out that Quatre was distraught enough over his father's death that he built the Wing Zero and installed the Zero System in it, wanting revenge for his father's death.

It was another "death" that brought Quatre to his normal self as Trowa sacrifices himself to bring Quatre back, telling it is a shame that the colonies have turned their back on them but they had to accept it and pleading with him to turn back to himself.

He is extremely protective of the other pilots and loyal to them. Using Trowa as an example, when he found out where Trowa was after nearly killing him, he came to get him only to find out he had amnesia. He tried repeatedly to talk to him at which point he was rebuffed by both Trowa trying to avoid him and Catherine warning him off, but as much as it hurt, he decided to leave if it was for Trowa's own good. When Trowa did rejoin them, he seemed to be the one around him most to make sure he was all right.

    Character
    Name: Shuichi Minamino | Kurama
    Series: Yu Yu Hakusho
Timeline: Post All Or Nothing OVA
Canon Resource Links: Wiki Link. There are a few discrepancies between manga and anime canon, so some of this information will not apply to Kurama as I play him. Details as minor as "black vs red hair" or as major as the anime changing Kurama's relationship with his demon identity. However, since he's powerless and human in VR (also taken post-canon), I don't think it will really influence how he'll function in game here, anyway.

Personality: This section is full of spoilers for anyone who might want to skip those on a recently revived 30-year-old canon.
We’re introduced to Kurama in the series as a demon bandit who stole an important artifact from Spirit World. Not much is known about him at this point in the series, Spirit World lacks any real intel outside of the name Kurama, and they certainly aren't aware that he’s the legendary fox spirit who died fifteen years prior.

In his previous life as a spirit fox, Yoko grew bored without the presence of some kind of challenge, he learned to break codes and seals - delighting in stealing ancient treasures and honing his skills to pass the time. After awhile, he grew strong enough to lead a legendary band of thieves that stole for the thrill of the accomplishment, the ability to pull off great heists. Yoko had a right-hand man who was still immature and reckless enough to go on jobs that he couldn’t handle, despite the risks he took and lives he lost doing so, Yoko always saved him. After a number of incidents, when he continued to stubbornly behave this way, endangering the lives of others and getting so many of their men killed hunting artifacts, Yoko set up a trap. He hired someone to take him out, and this time he left him for dead. While this is often cited as an example of his cutthroat and selfish nature, the fact that Yoko cared about him so much that he let him get away with continuously endangering the rest of the crew - that he saved his life, bringing him back again and again - suggests instead a compassionate and caring person has always been at his core. At least, as much of one as could be expected from bandits in the demon world.

Ultimately, Yoko choosing to stop protecting him from the consequences of his own actions by putting an end to them is an example of the pragmatic approach he continues to demonstrate even later, in his human body. A selfish and personally motivated leader would have killed him for his incompetence before giving him so many chances to improve.

This isn't the only time we see evidence of his compassion, even as a demon. Yoko also tried - and failed - to save another friend of his, during a different (likely earlier) period of his life. He did run to save himself eventually, leaving his friend for dead despite his own protests, but only at Kuronue’s insistence.

At Maze Castle, Kurama comments on the lack of loyalty present in the Saint Beasts, as if it's notable even by demon standards that these particularly creatures feel nothing for each other. Kurama has always had a loyal nature, but it could be argued that it was being forced to live in the human world, and raised by Shiori Minamino, that truly enabled it to blossom. Upon meeting Gouki, Kurama even points out that he has new priorities to protect and how far he’s willing to go in the name of protecting them.

After one last heist gone wrong, Yoko was chased down by a powerful adversary and left for dead. Kurama’s ability to wait things out in order to achieve his goals is a defining trait that is frequently demonstrated throughout the series, even to the frustration of others. As cunning as he was, that certainly wasn’t going to be the last of him, and Yoko hid himself in the human world by merging with the embryo of a pregnant woman, intent on biding his time and patiently waiting to regain his strength.

He was then reborn, with his memories and intelligence intact, Shuichi Minamino.

Kurama is a forgiving and empathetic person, immeasurably loyal to anyone he forms strong bonds with. He cares about others and is capable of so much compassion and forgiveness that not only does he patch up a demon who attacked him unprovoked as a human pre-teen, he later tries to reason with another after their battle against each other. Refusing to kill him at the end of the fight, Kurama instead urges him to find a nobler purpose in his life and be a better person moving forward, the same as he’d wished to.

He is repeatedly shown going so far as to sacrifice his own life for those he cares about, first his human mother after she fell ill with some terminal sickness. Again, later, if it means winning the fight against Karasu for his team. Kurama’s loyalty and devotion may very well be his biggest weakness. It’s that dedication to his human mother that arms several demons throughout the series with the upper hand against him. Granted, these situations are generally short-lived as Kurama outsmarts his opponents or finds other ways out of whatever trap his family is put in, but it is still an option frequently enough exploited, nonetheless.

While his original plan had been to patiently wait, regain his strength in human world, and then leave once his spirit energy was restored (roughly ten years after his human body’s birth), things changed. His human father passed away, his mother raised him with such compassion and love - even harming herself to protect him, falling ill from what he believes was the strain of raising a child more cunning and intelligent than she could ever hope to be, and viewing her as inferior - he couldn’t help but find himself loving her back. Willing to sacrifice for her and wanting to make up for the harm that he’d caused by being her child. He seems to irrationally fear that he's no different than a species that eat their own mothers, having that guilt and those complicated feelings kept him by her side, rather than following through with his original plan.

Kurama is analytical, intelligent and adaptable. Despite being on a path to become a better person, he’s not unwilling to go back to certain old ways - with the purest of intentions - if it means accomplishing his goals. It turns out, the only reason he stole the artifact was to use the mirror’s powers to save his mother’s life, even with the knowledge that doing so would cost him his own in exchange, as payment. Kurama is willing to throw all of his work away, forfeiting his own future for her's.

A lot of what we know about Kurama is told to the audience through other characters in his life. Hiei admits that he chose to partner up with Kurama because he’d rather not risk being his enemy, instead. Throughout the series, he talks up Kurama’s strengths and abilities, painting him as a ruthless and cutthroat fighter. This isn’t demonstrated often in the series and one might almost think that a lot of this information is uninformed hype, until Kurama is shown to be pushed beyond his limits.

He’s strategic, hanging back in most of his fights and observing his opponents with that trademark patience before forming a plan to defeat them. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the wisest move as it can give his competition the upperhand, especially with his habit of underestimating those he’s up against. Kurama is extremely smart and skilled, he’s powerful and he knows it, Koenma even refers to him as the team's most intelligent fighter. This hubris can sometimes cost him, with near-death experiences and lost fights littering his proverbial resume. While he has been said to be the most powerful fighter on their team, he’s also the one that seems to push himself past the limits of his human body the most often. There are few fights he doesn’t come out of bloody and unconscious by the time he’s done.

Kurama is always shown to be handling his own problems, never leaning on the others, asking for help or mentioning whatever he is going through during the series. The only thing he willingly seems to share is happy news about his mother, at one point mentioning she would be getting married in the summer even when the timing was not the most appropriate to bring it up. After three back-to-back fights in which he ends up losing consciousness, when Yusuke checks in on him to see how he’s doing, Kurama only apologizes for not being more help and taking out the last guy he’d been hoping to fight. His only focus was on how he’d failed to make things easier for Yusuke and not his injuries or wellbeing. He often downplays how badly he’s hurt with dismissive quips and will change the subject, not against teasing if it will provide adequate distraction.

Kurama is two sides of a coin, he’s serious and smart. A quiet bookworm of a kid as Shuichi, a cunning and professional thief as Yoko. As Kurama, he’s both of these entities at once, an incredibly skilled and adaptable fighter, combining the physical strength and raw power of his demon energy with the emotional intelligence he’d learned in the human world. Yet, there’s another “side” to him, as well. Kurama is a kitsune after all, they’re notoriously playful creatures and Kurama is no exception. He’s a tease, and his favorite hobby seems to be tormenting his teammates with quick wit and a bit of dramatics. He’s fast to jump in when someone is giving another member of the team a hard time, but he also instigates his own light hearted banter, even when the jokes are truly dark in nature (like pretending Keiko and Botan had died as a prank, refusing to help Kuwabara out of a lava pit because being helped “went against Kuwabara’s code”.) He also torments Hiei mercilessly, in particular by implying he’s about to reveal a secret of his to the rest of the group.

On the other hand, when put into a position where the only way out of a situation required killing a child, Kurama not only figured out the answer, he stepped forward to act on it. He was able to deduce that the child was an unknowing pawn in a bigger scheme all on his own and used that information to manipulate the kid into losing against him. This wasn’t something that was done lightly, the human world needed to be saved and they were losing precious time to do it. Thus, Kurama did the only thing that would get them out, something he knew that his team wouldn’t have agreed to do if informed of his plan in advance.

After being released to move on to their next goal, Kurama internalizes his feelings about what just happened, despite radiating with clear and sharp anger over it. He basically brushes Yusuke off when the teen tries to comfort him for doing what ultimately had to be done.

The rage and emotional turmoil of committing to such an act fueled his next attack, and he’s able to use even that to his advantage. Shutting off his mind and relying on instinct alone to take out their next opponent. Just because Yoko had a questionable and checkered past, did not mean Kurama was okay being put into such a position, regardless of what Hiei seemed to think after it happened.

Despite all of this, Kurama is adaptable. He does bounce back, and returns to his chipper normal self before the series ends. While ultimately, he chooses to remain as Shuichi instead of returning to life as Yoko, he continues working with the Spirit World and helping out as needed. His final thoughts on the matter of who he is, and how he chooses to live his life is that he never lets go of anything entirely, and Yoko is still a part of him regardless of his choice to remain human going forward.

    Personality:

While Kuwabara appears to be a tough thug on the outside, he's actually very loyal and kind hearted. Once someone has earned his trust, he will be loyal to the end. He enjoys fighting, wanting to some day be a strong fighter and protect those he cares about. It used to be that his goal was to have a territory to control but he later realized that wasn't important to him any more in the grand scheme of things.

He's not exactly intelligent and takes a while to understand things. Once he understands he puts all his heart and energy into it. He doesn't give up until he sees things through to the end. Even if at the cost of his life. He does not like information being withheld, and takes it to heart when he learns that secrets have been kept from him.

He found out second hand that Genkai had died after his friends had told him she was just sick. They felt he wouldn't have been able to cope with her death and thought it best to with hold. Only to find out it did more damage by with holding it especially with who told him. He appreciates being kept in the loop of things and hates it when his friends disappear or seem to take opposing sides on him and don't inform him.

He does have a strict code that he will follow through and doesn't break despite any circumstances. His code is based on what he believes an honorable man should be. This reinstates his desire to be strong and be able to protect those he loves and cares about. He's about not hurting or fighting those who can't fight back and feels its a disgrace when he saw someone take out another for asking for help. He won't hurt a girl even if they are a worthy fighter. If he takes on a fight he will finish it to the end regardless of the consequences. It also keeps him from asking for help in a fight.

Due to this code it helps him see the good in people that normally people wouldn't have viewed as good. He was able to sense that a particular team called Team Ichigaki were actually being forced to fight and were unable to do anything on their own. He was trying desperately to free them and get his team to understand that those fighters were good people. He almost died trying to set them free.

He also believed a kid named Sea Man was just merely mislead and despite the harm he caused on him and his friends, Kuwabara saved him and told him how he believed that there are still good people out there and he was one of them. Once he deems that person as a good person he holds them to it and will be disappointed if his belief in them doesn't follow through.

This also causes him to view things in shades of grey, rather than black and white. He's used to things being very black and white, but the fights he's been forced to have over time have taught him that's not always the case. He's learned that some people that don't appear to care really do care and just have a strange way of showing it, and that some of their lessons can be pretty extreme.

He's often loud and boisterous, without much of a filter and seems to say whatever comes to mind, whether its intelligent or appropriate. This often gets him in trouble. It's very rare that he's quiet, even if he's not talking his movements can be loud and you can often hear him before you see him coming.

If it's something not familiar it will take him awhile to learn, but he will try hard to learn it until he masters it. He seems to do better with hands-on learning and seeing examples that he can relate to.

Kuwabara does struggle with the concept of death as his friend's death is what brought him into the whole mess of fighting demons in the first place. It also forced him to become stronger and accept that one day his friends might not be around to help him.

He struggles with others not taking him seriously, despite this he tries to be part of the team and pull his weight. Because of this he sometimes takes on more then he can handle, but he doesn't want to be left behind and wants to be seen as an equal.

Due to his own code, Kuwabara will initially struggle with the concept of battling Pokemon and keeping them contained to their Pokeballs. It's going to take time and understanding of what path he'll choose and how he would handle it.

    Character
    Name: Duo Maxwell
Series: New Mobile Report Gundam Wing
Timeline: A few months after Endless Waltz
Canon Resource Links: Gundam Wiki on Fandom

    Personality:

Duo Maxwell certainly lives up to his name. He is a true exercise in duality. Duo presents himself as this outgoing, happy-go-lucky kind of guy with a slightly off-kilter and very morbid sense of humor. He's sarcastic, social, loud, cracks jokes, gives people nicknames... the whole thing. Considering his role in Operation Meteor, some might consider him just a tad bit crazy. Heck, maybe he is. He comes across as kind of dumb at times, projecting an image of someone who doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut. He always has a snappy comeback and flings teasing insults with the best of them.

All of this, though, is something of a show. Duo has a very dark past, filled with trauma and loss. He was orphaned at an extremely early age, found by a street gang of other orphans, and taken in by them. Many of those kids died in a plague that ravaged his colony, with Duo being one of the few survivors. He lost his best friend and someone he considered a big brother. Later, after forming a parent/child style bond with a priest and nun who took care of him for some time, he lost them in a rebellion on the colony when the church was destroyed. For most of his life, he's known nothing but struggle and loss, scraping to survive. He believes his life to be a fluke, that he honestly should be dead, but just had the weird luck to still be alive. And, because of this, he calls himself 'Shinigami', or considers himself to be something like a god of Death.

And, so... maybe he is a little insane.

This traumatic history of loss has left Duo with a fear of getting close, a fear of revealing his true self to others, of getting attached, because he feels he will inevitably lose them to death. "Anyone who gets close to me dies." And he truly believes it. For this reason, all the loud jokes, all the outgoing backslaps and nicknames, all the crazy antics... it's a façade, a mask, a way to hide himself in plain sight. He tries to keep people at arm's length, if only for their own safety.

That said, when it comes time to be serious and get the mission done, an entirely different side of Duo comes into play. Duo is a master at breaking and entering. He's also a master at breaking out of places he's being held. If he doesn't think he can get into a place undetected, then he sets himself up to be caught and breaks free later. Need stealth? Duo's your guy. Mr Big Mouth is excellent at sneaking around. He can disappear into a crowd with ease. Duo actually likes his enemies to see him as incompetent because it means he can surprise them later with his true skill.

These skills ended up coming in handy, and were the reason he got roped into Operation Meteor. He was stowing away on the ship that was hiding the Gundam that became Gundam 02, Deathscythe. Like Duo, it was a flashy machine, with a massive beam scythe for a weapon and a shield that could be launched from the mech's forearm to drill its way through armor plating. But also like Duo, it was hard to detect, making use of hyperjammer technology to sneak up on the enemy. Duo got caught stealing food on the ship, and the scientist in charge of Deathscythe's development was impressed that the boy had stayed on the ship as long as he had without being caught previously. So, he recruited him. Duo liked their goal. OZ, the Order of the Zodiac, had been responsible for a lot of the destruction on his home colony, and one of the reasons he'd lost a lot of the people in his life. Duo can carry a grudge, and this was a big one. Get revenge and take down the people who'd killed his only known family? Hell yes.

The problem with that, though, was that, at the time of Operation Meteor's launch. Duo was only fifteen years old. Sending kids into battle isn't really the best strategy, but that's what they did, and naturally the kids came out of it loaded with trauma. Duo did meet more people who had the same goals, and they worked together, but there were many times he'd thought he'd lost them. Not to mention the feelings he had to cope with as he'd realized just what he'd done in regards to killing others in battle. For a fifteen-year-old, those are some deep feelings to cope with.

Plus, because he was acting as part of the rebel faction, there was the constant feeling of being chased and tracked and hunted, the pressure of remaining hidden and completing his missions, and the idea that he was kind of the unpopular guy. The idea that he might be the "bad guy" was a tough one to face. So, in part, sometimes Duo acted as if it was a game to him, a way to disassociate himself with the fact that he was killing real people... that he might be making more orphans like him.

As a result, Duo has trouble settling down. As covered in the various manga that take place between the series and the movie, Duo is shown as constantly moving, whether he's traveling on salvage missions, hopping from friend visit to friend visit, or running yet again from getting himself into trouble, Duo can't sit still. Staying in one place too long invites trouble, and he's always ended up losing people if he does, so it's better to keep moving and not overstay his luck. But, when Mariemeia Barton, aka: Khushrenada, attempts her coup to take over the Earth Sphere in Endless Waltz, Duo can't deny that maybe it's time he has to fight again.

This time, though, things would be different. This time, he was defending. This time, he was going to refuse to kill. He'd spent a year dealing with the guilt and emotions from having fought for so long after Operation Meteor, that he didn't want to go through all that again. And neither did the others. Quatre, Trowa... even two former OZ soldiers who had survived and joined forces with the Gundams later... they moved in to fight the army, to stop them, but, as they did, they fought in a way that only disabled the enemy mechs. They'd found a way to fight without killing, and that became important.

Duo had grown up. Perhaps it was forced by having to fend for himself for so long, by being a child soldier and dealing with his trauma that came with it, but he had to... and fast. And, at sixteen years old, he made the decision to never kill again. And when the battle ended, he was able to do what was needed. He was able to destroy his Gundam. Yes, it had represented freedom and justice. But it also had represented revenge and death and war. And it was time to let it go.

Duo still has his demons to face, and he still hides them behind his Open Mask, but he's slightly more level than he used to be. Things still need to be done, and he still does see himself as the one that should do the dirty work because he feels his experience makes it so others don't have to. So, he'll do what's needed when it's needed. And he'll come back with a grin and a wink to make you think everything's a-okay.

Timeline: End of Sophomore Year, during the pool party at Strongtower Luxury Apartments, but before
SPOILER (click to expand) Sklonda Gukgak invokes the name of the Night Yorb, summoning it forth from Riz's tattoos, plunging all of Spyre into eternal night.

Canon Resource Links: Canon wiki link, which covers the events of freshman year. During sophomore year, the Bad Kids spent their spring break going on a wild mission to recover the Nightmare King’s crown, which was stolen during the fight against Kalvaxus at the end of freshman year. Some important points for Adaine include:
    • Adaine moves into Mordred Manor along with Fig, Kristen, Tracker, Sandra-Lynn, and Jawbone.
    • She summons a frog to be her emotional support familiar, whom she names Bogarial Frogariel, or Boggy the Froggy for short. Sometimes, Boggy is summoned as an owl instead of a frog, in which case he is called Bogowlriel Frogowlriel.
    • Her mother, Arianwen, helped steal the crown and is spearheading the effort to revive the Nightmare King, alongside a mysterious tabaxi named Kalina.
    • Adaine is kidnapped by her father, Angwyn, and other elves, and forcibly brought back to Fallinel, with the hopes that she will stop shirking her (perceived) duties as the Elven Oracle.
    • While in Fallinel, Adaine is reunited with her older sister, Aelwyn, who has been subject to torture which didn’t allow her to sleep for the better part of a year, slowly driving her to lose her mind.
    • When the Bad Kids come to rescue Adaine, she brings Aelwyn with them, and helps to restore her mind. However, Aelwyn tricks them, and escapes to go join their mother.
    • Adaine meets Ayda Aguefort, the immortal half-phoenix daughter of Principal Aguefort. Ayda is also 1) a divination wizard, and 2) neurodivergent, and the two quickly become best friends.
    • Adaine is forced to confront her greatest fear, that as an elf, she will outlive all of her friends. She speaks with a vision of her future self, and the two of them question why their parents never loved them. Adaine comes to the conclusion that her friends do love her, so maybe she isn't completely unlovable.
    • When Adaine comes face to face with her parents and sister in the Nightmare King’s forest, Aelwyn stands up for Adaine, which causes Angwyn to attack her, knocking her out. Adaine retaliates by punching her father to death using a new spell which Ayda wrote just for her.
    • The Bad Kids foil Arianwen’s plan by realizing that the Nightmare King was actually an ancient goddess of mystery and doubt, who Kristen becomes the sole worshiper of and restores to her true self, naming her Cassandra.
    • Cassandra permanently removes Arianwen’s magic, and sends her running off into the forest, being chased by a nightmarish van with human hands instead of wheels.
    • Back home in Mordred Manor, Jawbone surprises Adaine with adoption papers, to become her legal guardian. Within one year of meeting him, Jawbone already shows Adaine more love than her parents ever did in the sixteen years prior.

    Personality:
"Many questions I can answer, and yet one remains, as early as any in my life. I do not know why I was so easy to discard."

Adaine is the younger of two girls, and for her entire life has lived in her older sister Aelwyn's shadow. Aelwyn was the golden child, her parents' perfect daughter, who could do no wrong in their eyes. Anything Adaine did or sais was minimized, criticized, or even outright ignored. Even once Adaine makes friends at Aguefort, their wild shenanigans often barrel forward despite Adaine's logical protestations. She is by no means quiet, but she still has to struggle to be heard, even among the people who do, or should love her.

"I was at Hudol but unfortunately, I failed the entrance exam to get into the upper school because I had... a little bit of a panic attack."

The scorn from her parents, and Adaine's desperation to earn their approval, let Adaine to develop an anxiety disorder. Often, after doing something Adaine knew would disappoint her parents, she would fall into a panic attack. While anxiety like Adaine's is a mental illness, and not necessarily a personality trait, the way that it informed the way that she lived her life— in constant fear of disapproval and criticism— makes it worth mentioning. Once Adaine opened up to Jawbone O'Shaughnessy about her panic attacks and was able to get on anti-anxiety medication, she started to be able to live a freer, more authentic life. She even goes on to face her greatest obstacle and confront a monster that embodies the shy, solitary person she once was, at Zelda's 16th birthday rager, the Sphinx of Solitude, declaring as she attacked it, "I don't want to be you anymore!"

"I'm honestly very relieved to have work to do."

Adaine has always dedicated herself to her studies, fiercely and dutifully. Before high school, she felt a pressure to excel, to prove herself worthy of her parent's approval, but after failing Hudol's entrance exams and enrolling at Aguefort, Adaine began to discover how much she actually enjoys learning for the sake of learning. She is much more suited to practical spellcasting than the theoretical study that Hudol focuses on, and has even learned enough about wizardry that she wrote a brand new spell for her best friend, Ayda. Whereas some of her friends enjoy raucous parties, it takes Adaine a while to warm up to the idea of letting loose, and she would still prefer to spend her time doing more "indoor kid" activities than she would going out and getting drunk.
MINOR JUNIOR YEAR SPOILER (click to expand) (She does later get drunk at Fabian's house party, but that's partly because by junior year she's lightened up a bit more, and also largely because at that point she is under a great deal of stress, and desperately needs an outlet.)

"How does [Aelwyn] cast her spells?"
    "Like a little bitch."

When not reacting to her parents' abuse with fear and anxiety, Adaine's response was to become petty and vindictive. Most of the time, she directed her anger towards her sister, slinging offensive spells at Aelwyn under the table when her parents weren't looking. Adaine's fury doesn't show often, but when she does allow herself to be derisive, she is merciless. Any time that Biz Glitterdew spoke, she spared not one single thought for his feelings, and made it perfectly clear to him just how much she thought his fedora-tipping, "m'lady" behavior to be completely repulsive.
JUNIOR YEAR SPOILER (click to expand) During a fight in junior year, when the rage-enducing "shatterstars" are possessing people in the Synod of Spire, one almost inhabits Adaine, and we get a glimpse of what the world would look like if Adaine gave into her rage. We hear that Fallinel would be completely destroyed, and that she would tear apart the forest of Sylvaire in order to find and enact revenge on her mother. This shows that if Adaine were to lose herself to her most wrathful urges, she would focus all of her anger on destroying the parents who abused her, and the systems that informed and promoted their abusive behavior.

"Will you be my big sister? I'd really like for you to be my big sister."

Even though Adaine is petty, she is not without the capacity to forgive those that have wronged her. The first time the Bad Kids met Jawbone, when he was still working at the Black Pit, the werewolf bouncer bit Adaine and came close to infecting her with lycanthropy. However, once Adaine got to know Jawbone, not only did she forgive him, but the two would eventually grow so close that Jawbone officially filed to adopt Adaine as his daughter after the death and disappearance of her birth parents. Even Aelwyn, her greatest nemesis, earned Adaine's forgiveness, when Adaine finally saw clearly how she, too, had been a subject of their parents' abuse, albeit in a different form. In the end, Adaine and Aelwyn were able to bury the hatchet and grow closer as sisters.

"Guess what, bitch: I'm strong now!"

Overall, Adaine has proven herself to be remarkably resilient, able to adapt to and overcome all of the adversities of her upbringing. She needed the help of her friends and newfound family to do so, but with their support and encouragement, Adaine has grown into a poweful wizard, a loyal friend, and a truly happy teen.

    Character
    Name: Huey Duck
    Series: DuckTales
    Timeline: Post-"The Last Adventure"
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki Link

Personality: Huey is, at his core, a leader, even if only one in his own mind. He aspires to be the one in charge, the one who has all the answers and can take on any situation. This has caused him grief and the occasional breakdown whenever he's not on top of things, but he'll usually get it in the end. A lot of this stems from him being the eldest triplet (even if only by three seconds), which has made him the self-appointed leader of himself and his brothers. He likes to make the plans and schedules (down to the minute), likes studying and reading so he knows everything about anything, and seems particularly fond of giving advice and help, even when it's not necessarily wanted. This, at first, made him rather rigid and prone to said freakouts whenever control slipped out, though he loosened up and refined his skills over the course of the series.

Besides being incredibly book smart, Huey is also heart smart, even if sometimes less than he thinks he is. He is all about the concept of love; sometimes this is romantic, like the times he's played matchmaker, but often this is also platonic. He cares a lot, and when the chips are down you can count on Huey Duck to fight for you. He'll do anything for his brothers especially, since each other is about all they had for the longest time. Huey loves family, friendships and just loves being loved. Some of this could be argued as pushback, mind. Because he so rigidly caretakes his brothers and his friends, often he's seen as annoying or even stodgy. This can make him feel unwanted but usually he'll just double down into it harder. In this like in everything else Huey's learning balance, and he's at least somewhat better than he was earlier in the series. After all he's just a kid, and still learning himself and how the world works.

If nothing else though, Huey has at least managed his temper. You know how Donald Duck is famous for his flights of rage? In the triplets that's Huey. He had a little ball of anger inside him that he struggled with for the longest time, until finally learning how to manage it and accept that the "Duke of Making a Mess" (as termed by himself in one such tantrum) is as much a part of himself as anything else. While his temper could make him unpredictable, he's working to use it for better things, like protecting those he loves.

Overall Huey is intelligent, caring, temperamental, and adventurous, perfect for sharing a family with the likes of Scrooge McDuck.

Victory Road Sample: Huey walked through the halls of the Pewter Museum of Science, looking up at the displays of Pokemon's prehistory. This was quickly becoming one of his favorite places to come, to nobody's surprise (and Louie's very sibling-y teasing, "Once a nerd, always a nerd.") He could spend hours here, especially with how infrequently he was in the neighborhood in the first place.

He stopped in front of one of the largest displays, the fossil of an Aerodactyl frozen in time, wings spread and mouth agape as if it were a breath away from pouncing on breakfast. Huey removed his PokeGear from his pocket and took a few pictures, walking around the display so he got multiple angles. Then he switched it out for a notebook, scribbling down a couple different notes.

Aerodactyl. One of many different fossil Pokemon preserved here. Unknown to modern eyes, except... Except that was false! Louie had told him of some recent happenings where they all ran across assorted prehistoric Pokemon, including ones catalogued here. Now they were just- out there, deep within the Sevii Islands. It was dangerous, something he wasn't surprised about just looking at the teeth on the Aerodactyl before him, but it was possible. And who knew what else was down there? What other species of Pokemon had been lost before, and were only waiting to be found...

Huey paused, looking down at his notes. One must know the past to prepare for the future. And was there truly anything bad about knowing so much? Knowing too much? He snorted softly, well aware what someone like Bradford Buzzard might say about that. That too much knowledge was dangerous, that one should only know what they needed to know, lest they get any ideas of toeing the line, of attracting trouble and chaos.

He smirked, closing his notebook with a definitive snap. Yeah, right. There was no such thing as too much knowledge, and all Bradford's decree had gotten him was a sound and humiliating defeat by Huey and his family. He looked up at the Aerodactyl fossil and grinned, eagerly moving on to the next one. Better gather up what research he could now, all the better to give him something to go off of for any future trips.

    Character
    Name: Porco Galliard
    Series: Attack on Titan
    Timeline: Immediately following his death
    Canon Resource Links: his wiki

    Personality:
Galliard (he prefers being called Galliard rather than Porco, and really, who can blame him?) is headstrong and passionate. He doesn’t always listen to what other people have to say to him, particularly when his emotions get the better of him. This is evident in his fighting style as a titan, when he goes charging into battle against Eren during the battle of Liberio despite Pieck warning him not to. He does mature a bit before his death, but considering he only gets a few weeks to do so, there's only so much that he could get done.

Galliard isn’t the smartest guy out there. He takes a backseat to Pieck, Zeke, and Reiner during strategy meetings, going along with their recommendations. He also didn’t realize the Warrior team was being listened to by the Marleyan higher ups during a meeting, and very nearly put his foot in his mouth. It was only Reiner’s quick thinking that saved him. Ironically, he probably isn't dumb, he's just so used to being compared to people who are so smart that everyone looks slower in comparison.

Galliard desperately wants to be needed. He spent years on the sidelines as a Warrior candidate who didn’t get a titan, and has spent four years trying to make up for that wasted time. This leads to him being brave during battle, and the Marleyan military recognizing him as someone who does what he’s told and fights hard for the country. That said, he was also starting to lose faith with the Marleyan military towards the end of his life. This was hinted at earlier, but his faith took a serious nosedive after the Battle of Liberio. Dying, and the reveal of what really happened between Reiner and Marcel all those years ago, has shifted his perspective quite a bit, and he's not a Marleyan zealot by any means.

For all his flaws and complaining, Galliard really cares about his friends. He looks out for the younger candidates on the battlefield, and regularly protects Reiner’s titan. He helps Pieck when she’s forgotten how to walk, and in the end, sacrifices himself to save both Reiner and Falco. Pieck, though, is by far and away his best friend, and he can, does, and will fling himself into danger to protect her and keep her safe. That impulse can be misguided at times, since Pieck is a badass who can take care of herself, but it's still there.

Finall, Galliard is haunted by the memories of his brother, Marcel. He can’t stand that he can’t access his brother’s memories and views himself as the lesser of the two Galliard brothers. When he does eventually see Marcel’s memories and realizes how Marcel was trying to protect him and how much Marcel loved him, it gives him the courage to make the ultimate sacrifice himself, and go to his death smiling and content with his decision.

    Character
    Name: Pieck Finger
    Series: Attack on Titan
Timeline: A day or so after the end of the Rumbling, so almost at series end.
Canon Resource Links: Pieck's wiki entry.

Personality: Through years of experience born of necessity, Pieck has learned to evaluate just who gets to see what parts of her personality. In her normal, day to day life as a member of the Marleyan military and of the Warrior Unit, Pieck does a very careful act of balanced judgement, simple confidence, and pure good nature. She's proven to Marley that she's a trustworthy soldier - a paragon of national loyalty. To the people she cares about, however (mostly Porco Galliard and Reiner Braun with the occasional addition of Colt Grice), she's genuinely caring, leans toward calculating, and will actually let a few vulnerabilities show.

Pieck was chosen to be the Cart Titan in the Warrior Program because of her display of good judgement. She has a keen mind and shows it on the battlefield and off - albeit in ways that don't always prove her intelligence. Being a small Eldian woman, Warrior or not, is to be a target. Time has taught her how to present herself to be less of a target, how to make people like her, how to appear harmless or how to appear scarily competent. How to appear thoughtless, like a "silly woman", or how to show foresight as it comes to operational outcomes. Pieck will give someone a fake smile that has been so well-practiced that it's impossible to tell it from a real one if she needs them to see her good side so she can get information from them. This side of her is manipulative and calculating, sharply concerned with self-preservation, and she exercises that as she sees fit. Since it's been such a large part of her life, it's the first instinct and skill that she falls back on in a new situation that she needs to take the time to read. With all of these manipulations so well-practiced, few people will see through the mask. It's so well-worn that it might as well be her actual face.

The key, though, is that she doesn't want her life and her self to be that way. She learned the game she had to play, how to navigate the Marleyan political landscape to keep herself and her father from harm, and she's come to hate it. It's been her life for so long, but thanks to having Porco Galliard around to trust and talk to for most of that lifetime, she's aware of how it can be to be around people she doesn't have to mislead. She wants that. She wants to be able to be kind to people, to be able to relax from the feeling of having her shoulders around her ears, even if, from the outside, no one can really tell the difference. She can. Underneath all of the misdirection and the facades is a young woman who has lived a lifetime of war and strife and she aches for a chance to do simple things, like walk through a field and pick flowers. To joke with a friend and not worry about what happens if she suddenly gets orders or if a shopkeeper gets offended at having an Eldian in their shop. She wants to be be able to drop the facade. To be genuine.

Beneath it all, Pieck feels deeply. She's already mourned losing her father because she knew that, soon, her life was going to end - either on the battlefield or when she was sacrificed to the next Cart Titan. She's always reminded of losing Marcel, Porco, Bertholdt, and Annie because what started as a group of seven training to become Warriors has become a group of four. She's grown more and more frustrated as she's seen the faults of her so-called superiors and watched them fail through their own racism and has known that if she set one foot out of their guidelines, three lives - Porco's, her father's, and her own - were on the line. In the Pokemon World, Pieck sees an opportunity to actually act her age. To be a young woman who gets to try on pretty clothes and pick flowers and have friends and actually take joy in life, which is something she's never let on she envies, but something she's definitely envied all the same.

Pieck knows that there's a soft, smart person underneath the warrior that came out of Marley heavily trained to think fifteen steps ahead in a fleeting peace or the rage of war. She knows she never actually had a chance to be a child thanks to the Warrior Program. She's had so few chances to be anything but the woman the Marleyan military so carefully crafted her to be that even though she has these hints at who she is, being outside of Marley will be her first chance to actually see that person exist.

    Character
    Name: Shiki Wakana
    Series: Love Live! Superstar!!
    Timeline: Post-Season 2
Canon Resource Links: wiki! I also encourage you to look at the links provided throughout the personality section to canon comics and dialogue from the game!

Personality: A quiet and very eccentric girl, Shiki is introduced as a member of the Yuigaoka Girls' High School Science club. Tech-savvy, she has an interest in inventions and robotics, creating projects to test them out with or on her classmates. That said, she has never had very many friends. She tends to be quiet, sticking mainly in the company of her close friend Mei who she considers her 'comfort person' and has a rather odd fixation with. It is difficult to find one without the other. Her inquisitive and quiet nature make her fond of exploring nature, and she particularly loves stag beetles and butterflies. She does not like large crowds or lots of noise, but says she feels comfortable onstage when she feels the support of her friends. However, her tendency to hyperfixate on science leads her to come off as cold and isolated, when she is truly just determined to reach a goal.

Goals to her come in many forms. From experiments to her work as an Idol onstage, Shiki places faith in her brain to make for the best possible outcome. While she doesn't come off as the type to excel as an Idol, Shiki is proven to have a powerful voice and a proficiency in rapping. Becoming an Idol was the dream of the aforementioned Mei who subsequently got Shiki interested in the idea. Namely because she will do anything to make her best friend happy AND because her support of Mei fanned the flames for her own career. When the pair joined Liella! together, they became instant fixtures in the already diverse group of girls. She is show as being unwaveringly supportive of Liella! and all of her friends allowing nothing to keep them from succeeding. When Kinako is unsure of whether she will be cut out to perform with the upperclassmen, Shiki makes sure she gets there.

Shiki often struggles with being as expressive as her friends. She isn't the type to smile and even when she performs, she maintains a rather dull expression that adds to her mysterious persona within the group. She isn't sure why she doesn't like to smile and never reveals it, but she can become self-conscious when people point out such things. The only times Shiki shows big swells of emotion are when she is passionate about something. When she has a breakthrough on something she is working on, she immediately needs to show it off... even if others aren't as enthusiastic about science as she is. Shiki's other strange habit is her constant need to stalk people. It isn't said whether she does it because she is just shy, but Shiki can be found lingering behind her classmates when they are up to something, not even announcing her presence until she is too close for their comfort. In the case of Mei, Shiki tends to take candid photos of her because of the other girl's penchant for becoming flustered when directly observed.

Shiki's most powerful weapon is her brain. She is exceedingly intelligent for her age and astoundingly clever. She has created applications that will connect to her inventions remotely, allowing them to function even when she is not present as well as having surveillance set up in her favorite experiment spots (such as the school rooftop) to run them all day while she is in class. She seems to like creating machines that can enhance human abilities-- particularly in the case of her leg devices that can attach any person to herself and speedily drag them in any direction. Throughout the series, it is even shown that she is constantly adding new things to her machines, meaning that she is always coming up with something new. She claims to be an excellent multi-tasker and while that might be true, some of her methods to be omnipresent are weirder than others.

While she lacks the charisma of the other members, Shiki is always happy to compliment her fellow Idols when they are doing a great job. She is even shown to look up to a former rival due to her singing ability with unwavering kindness. She has recently found friendship in Tomari, who affectionately refers to her as 'Shiki-senpai and has begun opening up as of the end of Season Two. Shiki is many things: Clever, eccentric, shy, and a little off-putting at times but the truth is, bing an Idol has made her blossom from the shy girl she is into a quirky and lovable performer who just wants to bring smiles far and wide.

    Character
    Name: Violet Apollonia Sabrewing
    Series: Ducktales 2017
    Timeline: Post "The Last Adventure"
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki!

    Personality:
Violet Sabreing is a gigantic nerd - always has been, always will be, and is rather proud of this fact. To her, it's not bragging, it's just a fact of life that she's way smarter than most kids her age, and perhaps some adults as well. (She is taking college-level courses, after all.) She knows she's smart, but she's also aware that being a genius has its drawbacks. Before meeting Webby and her adventurous family, she had no friends as most weren't interested in the same topics as her, nor could they keep up with her advanced intelligence, and frankly, she didn't know HOW to act as a "normal" kid. So when Webby offered her not only a chance to help study her newfound fascination, magic, and be her first real friend, Violet was more than happy to take the chance - and her happiness has only grown since adding Lena and the boys to her growing circle.

However, when meeting Violet, it can be difficult to tell how happy she is. Her tone of voice is usually deadpan, and she has to make conscious, serious effort to emote more than most people. But once you get to know her, you can usually tell her true feelings even if she doesn't raise her voice or change her expression. And she would love for more people to get to know her - she's a kind person at her very core, such as immediately taking in Lena to her home when learning Lena had none of her own. (Making this all the more special, she'd only known Lena a few hours at most, and during that time, Lena had tried to make her go away out of jealousy towards Webby.) She was also willing to sacrifice her taste buds to save Louie from his own backfired scheme, and held no resentment for him putting them in a dangerous position to begin with. Once you're her friend, you have her devoted loyalty for life, and she will do anything and risk anything to keep them safe.

One more thing that might surprise people about Violet is that she's also a bit of an impish trickster - she enjoys practical jokes and telling falsehoods to see people's reactions. While she normally hid that part of herself before meeting Webby and the others, her sisterhood with Lena brought it out more to the forefront. But this also has its drawbacks - since Violet is still new to friends and new to "being a normal kid", it can be hard for her to tell when her jokes have gone too far. A good example is when she continuously insulted Huey during a competition together, as Lena had convinced her that's what friends do all in good fun, but Violet couldn't see that her repeated "disses" were tearing down Huey's confidence and genuinely hurting his feelings. Once she learned otherwise, she was genuinely horrified and did her best to make amends.

So to sum up, there's more to Violet than what meets the eye. She may come off as rude, standoffish and unfeeling but these things couldn't be further from the truth. She's a kid who loves friends, enjoys learning about everything and anything, and relishes a fun "razz" or two as long as everyone can have fun.

    Character
    Name: Laios Touden
    Series: Delicious in Dungeon
    Timeline: Episode 15
    Canon Resource Links: Here

Personality: Laios has an extreme interest in monsters - how they look, live, their biology, and how they even taste. ESPECIALLY what they taste like, as his world is opened up to the possibility of gourmet monster dining the further he and his party explore the dungeon where the Mad Mage, the final boss of the dungeon, resides. He's an extreme nerd for monsters, knowing lots of information about each one he encounters and using it in battle to his advantage. While usually a calm person, he gets excitable when talking about monsters - something that's off-putting to most people. He often rambles off "fun facts" about the ones he and his party encounters. He is extremely passionate about them, almost preferring them to people, and understanding them a lot better than he does other people too.

While Laios is often perceptive about monsters, like discovering how Living Armor actually moves through a nest of mollusks inside of it, he's not very perceptive when it comes to people. He often doesn't notice Marcille's distress when it comes to eating monster food, and he doesn't recognize Kabru and his party when they keep finding them on different dungeon floors. He's very bad at recognizing social cues, which is spelled out by Shuro who states that he didn't like Laios, despite Laios always wanting to hang around him. Laios is shocked by the statement, because he never once doubted that Shuro was his friend. He often doesn't realize his friends' distaste in some of the things Laios says, in which he can be painfully blunt and come off as unempathetic. In reality, Laios is trying to be helpful, but often lacks the social skills to be successful in his conversations with others.

Laios does try to be a good party leader, doing whatever he can to protect and aid his teammates. He'll jump into action the moment he thinks one of his friends are going to be hurt, and his whole purpose of going into the dungeon is to save his sister from being fully digested by a Red Dragon. He even sacrifices his leg during the fight with the Red Dragon, using it as a tactic to defeat it and get his sister back. Despite not being very perceptive of people, he's very perceptive of monsters and monster behavior, which makes him a skilled swordsman. He also cares and deeply trusts those who considers friends.

He's been kicked out of the third shop in town. He wasn't really understanding anything about this world, no matter how hard he tried. This city was called... what, Violet Town? It wasn't very big. And Laios was running out of options.

He can feel his mouth watering a bit, his stomach growling.

"I just... wanted to know what Slowpoke tastes like. I don't understand why everyone thinks it's so weird. Aren't the creatures here edible? I imagine they taste so delicious, a totally unique flavor... but every time I ask about what meat they use in their dishes, they get all weird about it!"

Laios wonders if he was a little too aggressive in asking the last shop owner about what they use in their dishes. The shopkeeper did seem to be getting flustered, and Laios did not back down at all about it. Maybe he asked too many questions?

"Chilchuck would've told me if I was being too much... I wish they were all here. No, that's a selfish ask. They can look for Falin while I figure out how to get out of this place."

Laios lifts up his Growlithe's Pokeball, examining it closely. To be honest, he hasn't really spent much time with his new companion. He loves dogs, and a fire-breathing dog is ESPECIALLY cool, but he's been so preoccupied with trying to escape this weird world he's not really sure he has the time to study all these new monsters - though he definitely wants to. It's almost like this world was catered to him, and all of his interests. A whole buffet of new monsters!

Too bad they won't let him taste any.

He finally lets Growlithe out of its Pokeball, letting the puppy Pokemon stretch and wag his tail as he approaches Laios. He still isn't sure how he's supposed to feel about this "monsters as friends" relationship.

"Well Growlithe, I say we find somewhere to sleep for tonight... but until then, how about you show me more of your fire breath? That part is very cool!"

The Growlithe barks and runs off, Laios running after him like a little kid with a new pet. Maybe soon... he'll get to show this creature to Falin.

    Character
    Name: Amethyst
    Series: Steven Universe
Timeline: Post-"Steven Universe: The Movie," but Pre-"Steven Universe Future"
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki link

    Personality:
She's brash, rude, and reckless; Amethyst's wrestling persona has the full title of "Purple Puma: the wildest cat in the jungle!" for good reason. She revels in her well-earned reputation as the loud and irresponsible one out of the Crystal Gems. Amethyst is fun-loving, and finds that fun in activities like pranks and other humorous pursuits, in shapeshifting, in showcasing her own outlandish behavior, in wrestling, and in eating things that may or may not be food. When - in light of recent events - Steven points out she's actually become mature, she declares the idea gross.

That said, she also doesn't claim it's false. Amethyst's growth is undeniable; over the years without Rose she's gone from an almost childlike Gem to one who - while far from perfect - isn't afraid to do what needs to be done. She's not the take-charge leader Garnet is, but she looks out for those she cares about. She just won't make a big show of it, especially the caring about them part, in most instances. Amethyst doesn't express herself particularly well, and doesn't enjoy coming across as very vulnerable, but that shouldn't be mistaken for true apathy. She loves her friends dearly and wants to protect them.

This desire makes the fact that she's, to put it in Homeworld terms, "defective" all the harder for Amethyst to swallow. She was in the Earth longer than a regular Amethyst would have been before she was ready to emerge, and as a result, she's smaller and not as powerful as other Quartz Gems. This eats away at Amethyst frequently, leaving her insecure and unsure of herself. What tips this into the field of self-loathing is the fact that she was a Gem made on Earth; part of a Gem Kindergarten that - had it went on - would have helped to sap the planet of its ability to host life.

Rose Quartz always assured Amethyst there was nothing wrong with her, despite all of this, and so the loss of the Crystal Gem's leader shook her - more than the revelation that Rose was, in fact, Pink Diamond. That did shock Amethyst, but she was able to put her own issues with this development aside for Steven's sake, feeling the focus should be on him at this time. And in time, the loss of Rose was something Amethyst managed to largely move on from, as well. It helps, no doubt, that she has a very close, sibling-like bond with Steven, whose friendship is very supportive.

Amethyst's siblinghood with Steven covers the typical ups and downs that brothers and sisters deal with. While she looks out for him and is likely the Crystal Gem most likely to have fun with Steven, she also teases him, such as mocking him for worrying about her taking a fall. And Amethyst feels a degree of sibling rivalry with Steven as she notices him becoming more skillful. Though it was something they moved past - to the point where they were able to form Smoky Quartz, a fusion - Amethyst became aggressive towards Steven in her jealousy and insecurity, thinking that his increasing talent made her the "worst" Crystal Gem.

As a closing note, Amethyst is the Crystal Gem who - aside from Steven - is by far most likely to interact with humans. In fact, she's generally happy to do so, and she behaves as more in-touch with the ways of humans than Pearl or Garnet.

As the first stop in a city for many brought to the Pokémon World, Cherrygrove could strike many as a city in name only. For those more used to the word being applied to a bustling metropolis, the small and peaceful town on the beach didn't have the same feeling.

But this discrepancy hadn't bothered Amethyst for a moment. In fact, it hadn't really occurred to her at all, at least not to any noteworthy degree. Her own home, Beach City, wasn't all that different from Cherrygrove. Beach City was more lively, but even then, on your average day? Not by much. Although in all truth, that wasn't the reason she paid no mind to the mismatch of name and atmosphere.

It was just, well, who cared about semantics? Especially in a new place! While Amethyst’s overall feelings on being in this world weren't positive, what was the use of dwelling on who and what she was missing? She'd find a way back when she'd had enough. This was hardly the worst situation she'd ever found herself in, right? It'd be fine! Besides, while this place was pretty dull so far, the creatures that lived here were anything but.

Heck, Compactor was as good at eating weird stuff as Amethyst herself was! Or, well… As she normally was. Right now, that was different. Right now, a lot about Amethyst's form was different. And that shouldn't be any big deal! Right? She shape-shifted all the time anyway! And humans were cool, being one wasn't bad. Amethyst never completely got it when other Gems viewed humans as so hard to understand to begin with. They were different, yeah, but it wasn't like… So different, was it?

Definitely not so different that she wasn't Amethyst anymore! Because that'd be stupid. And it would really suck if she'd got so much figured out about who she was only to have things change that much– Which they hadn't, anyway!

Her hands tightened into fists, arms tensing at her sides as she walked through the city. The Gible following Amethyst along down the street - who was just catching up with her after getting repeatedly distracted by the sights - made an inquisitive sound as he nosed at her knuckles. Amethyst looked down at him with a sigh and a tired smile.

“Yeah, you're right, Compactor. Let's not worry about it right now.”

The Gible blinked as if trying to figure out how he'd been right. Hadn't he been the one asking a question?

But an audible grumble from Amethyst’ stomach distracted Pokémon and trainer alike. Amethyst chuckled sheepishly. Eating was nothing new, but she was used to only doing it when the impulse hit. Remembering that she now needed food on a regular basis? That was proving harder than she would have thought.

“Ya hear that, little dude?” Amethyst asked, smirking down at her companion. “Sounds like we'd better get something to eat.”

The Gible’s excitement was clear as he hopped up in the air, then on landing took off ahead. Was he going towards food? He didn't know! But Amethyst was hardly one to complain about a little enthusiasm. And hey, it's not like she knew where they should head for a meal, either.

Snickering to herself, she followed after Compactor. Any issuss that weren't about food could be dealt with later… One problem at a time, right? Without the threat of corrupted Gems or the Diamonds looming, that was actually an option here.

The thought brightened Amethyst’s smile as she caught up with her partner and scooped him into her arms.

    Name: Wrath
    Series: Fullmetal Alchemist 2003
Timeline: Conqueror of Shamballa, moment of death via transmutation/Big Chomp (tm).
Canon Resource Links: Wrath on the FMA Wiki, which is historically kind of garbage, but someone seems to have filled in the blanks pretty well since the last time I looked!

NOTE: Wrath's original app is here and goes SIGNIFICANTLY more in-depth, but because he's so dramatically different at this canonpoint, I didn't want to do too much rehashing of the previous stuff!

Personality: (GENERAL CONTENT WARNING FOR CHILD HARM AND SUICIDE)

    Inside Wrath are two wolves.

One has depression. The other has unprocessed trauma.

Wrath has depression and unprocessed trauma.

"Conqueror of Shamballa" takes place two years after the conclusion of the 2003 FMA series. Having fallen apart both figuratively and literally (those stolen limbs he was so proud of? Yeah, he's got prosthetics now. The irony!), Wrath spends these two years in near-complete withdrawal from human contact.

Despite his extreme dedication to being antisocial, he still lurks awkwardly at the fringes of society; never straying too far from the places he knows and even (seemingly) keeping tabs on the surviving humans who he once clashed with. Despite the many Horrors (tm), his crippling desperation for acceptance and affection never truly left... but he never allows himself close enough to actually get it from anybody, preferring to skulk around like a very sad stray dog instead.

He's too guilty and gunshy to return to his original creator (aka HIS MOTHER) despite her attempts to reach out. He neglects his new automail limbs until they're visibly falling apart. He speaks only when necessary, and usually keeps his sentences quiet and terse. He deprives himself of the food source responsible for his (former) inhuman strength and miraculous abilities, leaving himself feeble and perpetually exhausted. He sleeps in the woods or various garbage dumps and, later, next to his aforementioned mother's grave. That post-supervillainy-lucidity is rough, man.

To anyone fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to actually corner him into conversation, Wrath comes off as aloof and humorless-- a shadow of the wild child he was previously. It's hard to get a read on him, in no small part due to the fact that he barely says anything, ever. But under the 24/7 'dead inside' vibes he gives off, there's a veritable landslide of pain, fear, and regret. His avoidance of others is no longer out of anger and vitriol, but one of shame and self-punishment. One of the (very) few times he speaks, it's to refer to himself as a monster, voice noticeably dripping with disgust and self-loathing.

In fact, he just straight-up wants to die.

Although he successfully keeps quiet on the matter right up until the very last second, Wrath admits in his final moments that he only came out of isolation for the sake of stopping a former enemy (Alphonse Elric) from sacrificing his life for a loved one-- an act he's now witnessed more than once, and "never wants to see again"-- by being the sacrifice instead. A perfect cap-off to a life spent primarily being used as a pawn for someone else's goals: self-dehumanization and suicide-by-fellow-traumatized-child! But by now, Wrath has had Enough; he just wants to be reunited with his mother, after wasting all chances to forgive-- and be forgiven by-- her while she was alive.

... TOO BAD HE'S GOING BACK TO POKEMON-LAND INSTEAD!!!

    GET THERAPY-ANIMAL'D, IDIOT.

Despite his new outer-shell of all angst and no fun, Wrath is still a child-- physically no older than 12 or 13 (if that), and even then only working with a few years of real, tangible experience at existing. The off-kilter innocence and zest for life he once had is buried in there somewhere still, and a kinder world stands a better chance of chipping away at his walls than the one he ultimately tried to leave.

    Victory Road Sample:

The can-- one of the only pieces of litter in this tiny town he'd been able to find-- lets out a satisfying metallic KLUNK as his automail foot connects with it and sends it flying out into the long grass, but it's not enough to make up for the rest of his morning.

Wrath scowls out at Route 29, the picturesque green grass, picket fences, and perfect, cloud-studded blue sky almost mockingly reminiscent of the place he'd just left behind in pursuit of an ending somewhere much more wretched. After all that? He doesn't want to be looking at this. He doesn't even want to be looking at anything.

Gritting his teeth, Wrath tips his shaggy head back to look straight upwards despite the sun in his eyes, and spreads his arms with a whir-and-clink of mechanical joints.

    "WHY."

His voice sounds raspy, and feels even worse. It's the first word he's spoken since waking up in that little bed in the cottage, confused and disoriented. He had not returned the cheerful 'Good morning, sleepyhead!' offered to him by the kindly woman in the house-- he'd simply busted out of there like a bat out of hell, not realizing or caring that he was dressed in clothes that weren't his and holding a knapsack he'd never seen before.

It wasn't until he'd made it to the edge of that tiny town that the memories had started to come back.

    Both sets of memories.

Down at his feet, a Cubone sits in the grass apprehensively, tapping his bone-club on the ground every so often. His trainer hadn't really acknowledged him much since letting him out of the Pokeball about half an hour ago, and he's not 100% sure what to do about that. The Pokemon is supposed to follow the directions of the trainer, but this trainer is just kind of... stomping around and sighing a lot. Sssooooo...?

When Wrath inevitably loses his staring contest with the sun and turns his gaze downwards again, grimacing and swiping at his stinging eyes, the Cubone decides he should probably just bite the bullet and start things off.

    "Bone."

Still puffing, Wrath looks down at the gentle tap on his ankle-- oh. Right.

    The Pokemon.

    "You. ... You're... mine. Aren't you?"

It wasn't Mama. And it wasn't Pipsqueak.

But he remembers how this goes. Sort of.

So when the little skull-faced creature nods, Wrath sighs. He doesn't want a teammate. His last remaining teammate just bit him mostly in half and then they were both atomized by a massive alchemical reaction. But it would seem he has one now, again, nonetheless.

"I guess we have to stick together, then."

    "Bone."

"I've been here before but I don't remember this place. Is this near the..." He falters, his words dropping to a mumble as his gut clenches. The memories don't feel like they even belong to him. "... th'yellow town?"

The Cubone cocks its head before shaking it, apologetically. No, he does not know of any 'yellow town'. This is like, the furthest he's been from Professor Elm's lab, Wrath.

Letting out another put-upon sigh, Wrath pinches the bridge of his nose. It's a gesture he picked up... somewhere. In another life. He frowns as the origin of the habit floats back to him, like bubbles floating to the surface of a pond. Then he swallows hard, clamping it down. It hurts, to bear the sudden weight of these other memories again-- like a swollen, broken limb.

It isn't until he feels another soft tap on his non-metal foot-- this one with the Cubone's stubby hand rather than the hard club-- that Wrath realizes his eyes are leaking. He immediately starts to scrub them again with the heels of his palms

"--fine, m'fine! Stupid, stupid human eyes..."

They both know it's not the stupid human eyes, though. More than anything else, he wants to lay right down in the dirt and scream and howl until he's too tired to keep going... but you don't do that in front of team-mates.

After screwing his eyes shut and holding his breath until he can feel his face turning red, the tears depart. And then he bends down to hold a pale hand out to the-- no, his-- Pokemon. The Cubone takes it, albeit a little apprehensively-- and Wrath tries to muster a smile.

He's so out-of-practice that it takes a couple seconds.

"Sorry... I know I'm scary sometimes... But, I'll protect you till you're stronger okay? That's... that's what team-mates do."

    Character
    Name: Dell Conagher (the Engineer)
    Series: Team Fortress 2
    Timeline: Post-"Loose Canon"
    Canon Resource Links: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Engineer

    Personality:
Dell Conagher is the epitome of "speak softly and carry a big stick." While he might not say a whole lot, there's a ton of action going on behind those goggles of his. The southern twang to his voice and his tendency to call people "pardner" belie a truly staggering level of genius. He's a multi-PhD holding inventor who can build machines of almost any kind, but all he wants at the end of the day is a paycheck, a cold drink, and a place to strum his six-string. Dell is a little reclusive and will just as often stay at home working on some sort of contraption as he will head to the bar for a cozy night of drinking. He's friends with the other mercs, most notably one Mr. Ludwig, the other man of science on the team. The Pyro is his other unlikely pal since they lack most social graces, but Dell's good nature and the Pyro's skill in fending off enemy spies make them a perfect fit. Outside of the team, Dell gets along with just about anyone, as proven by his willingness to work for those who can pay for his services. It might seem like he's dishonorable since he's working for a paycheck and nothing else, but he's just practical before everything else.

Judging by the way Dell takes care of his machines, he'd also get along well with Pokémon. He maintains and upgrades inanimate objects, so he's used to forging one-sided bonds, and he makes (sort of oblique) mention of caring for animals in his past. There's a sense of respect between him and his inventions. I believe he'd push his Pokémon to be the best they can be and expect them to hold him to that standard as well. Even if Dell might not be the most openly proactive merc, once he's set his mind to something, he'd need a partner with enough energy to keep up with him. (That's why I chose Rotom to be his starter; not only does it have innate energy, it also represents the way he sees the world.) His machines aren't just tools, they're inspirited companions helping him with whatever he's doing.

Dell wouldn't have a ton of trouble adjusting to the non-violent world of Pokémon despite most of his inventions being wartime devices. Warp pads are nothing new to him, and he'd be just as happy to throw together an irrigation system as he is a turret. The advanced technology of the Pokémon world would appeal to him greatly. The things he builds are solutions to problems: if he's on the battlefield, the problem is stopping a man with a gun, but if he's out in the countryside, the problem might be coming up with a way to feed a hundred hungry Miltank. That's not to say he's a pacifist, of course. Dell's still a mercenary, and his competitive side could definitely lead him down the path of a gym challenger, if for no other reason than to challenge himself and keep his mind sharp.

Also, his favorite equation in this world would probably be the equation for catch rate.

    Strengths:
    * Powerful intellect - He has multiple PhDs on various topics and is descended from a long line of super-geniuses. He designed his own fully automated point defense turret as well as teleportation devices. On top of great feats of intelligence, he also enjoys intellectual challenges, preferring to put his mind to use before his hands.
    * Good-natured - Dell gets along with just about anyone. He doesn't have a particularly strong personality, so he can fit in anywhere with minimal issue. People tend to underestimate or forget about him when it serves him, and he doesn't mind when people are a little abrasive as long as they aren't cruel.
    * Patient - Rome wasn't built in a day even if a turret is built in about ten seconds. The best plans come to fruition after long investments, and Dell subscribes to this theory in spades. He's never the first to act, but when he does act, it's with purpose and after considering every angle.
    * Driven - Related to his patience, Dell is unstoppable in working for what he wants. When he has a good problem to chew on, he'll put every resource at his disposal into working on it, refusing to give up until he's satisfied with the solution. This can manifest itself as a little bit of mania, but you don't take that many shocks to the ol' ticker without getting a little manic sometimes.

    Weaknesses:
    * Reactive, not proactive - Dell's greatest strength is also his weakness. Because he takes his time and considers all the options available, he doesn't have a sharp sense for doing things off-the-cuff, and hectic situations can often get the best of him. Also, while he tunnel-visions on his own long goals, he might not notice the plots of others until it's too late.
    * Soft-spoken - In a crowd, no one's noticing Dell first. While this is something he's massaged into a sort of strength over time, he's still not a particularly imposing or dominating presence. He has trouble being firm with others and can't always communicate effectively.
    * Neither fast nor strong - Even though his forearms are pretty toned from all the wrenchin' he does, being an engineer doesn't lend itself to cardio or leg day. Dell's a bit of a doughy boy when it comes down to it, and he's not overpowering anyone anytime soon. It leaves him more reliant on his sharp mind and plans than the ability to do things on the fly himself.

[This wasn't the first setback Dell had encountered in his life. Hell, it wasn't even the first time he'd come this close to dying. It would take a lot more than a big stupid pile o' rocks to put him down - especially when he had a friend on his side.]

Sparky, coul'ja give me a light, pardner?

[His Rotom buzzed in acknowledgement, and with a flickering start, it lit up the cavern with harsh yellow light. As their eyes adjusted, it became clear that the rampaging Onix had well and truly collapsed the only way out. Dell removed his hard hat and turned it over in his hands, noting the sizable dent in it that very well should have been in his skull. Small blessings, he thought to himself.]

[The only path remaining to the pair was the one that led further into the cave. As they walked (and floated) through the cramped space, Dell felt increasingly silly about bringing an entire washing machine along for Sparky to possess, and Sparky didn't seem particularly pleased about trying to maneuver the bulky appliance through the cave either.]

Sorry, bud. I know what it's like to haul heavy machinery around - ain't fun. We'll be outta here soon, and then we can give Mrs. Rose her laundry machine back.

[He gave Sparky a clunking pat on the back, and it responded with a beleaguered - but appreciative - "Ro-to-to..." in return. It was going to be a long haul through this cave, provided there even was a secondary exit, so both of them knew it would be paramount to keep their spirits up. In Sparky's case, quite literally.]

[Half an hour of walking passed in silence, save for the crumbling sound of pebbles being disturbed by Dell's boots. He could tell that Sparky was getting tired, and more pressingly, bored. As he started to ruminate on something to alleviate his partner's boredom, a rhythmic vibration in the walls caught his attention - soft, but approaching. He frantically waved a hand to Sparky to shut off the light, which it did with a curious little buzz.]

    Quiet. Somethin's coming.

[And arrive it did: a trio of Roggenrola, marching aimlessly down the corridor. Their heavy rock bodies were denser than they appeared, each footfall causing the cavern walls to shake. However, they weren't the least bit put off by the darkness, and all three of them pointed their sensitive echolocating divot at Dell and Sparky as if it were clear day.]

    Rog? Roggenro? ...Rolla?

[The three little Rock-types peered curiously at them with all the patience of stone. After what felt like an hour, Dell realized that if they were going to attack, they'd have done so already. Time for a new approach. He gently tapped Sparky with his gloved hand, wordlessly asking it for light again. With his sight restored, he was immediately struck by how cute these "interlopers" were.]

Well don't that just beat all. Y'all friendly?

[He put out his hand palm-up. With a little chirp, the braver of the three Roggenrola hopped forward, examining the outstretched appendage before giving it an exploratory nuzzle. Dell waited for it to get accustomed to his presence before moving again, cupping the side of its round body with an affectionate scritch.]

Aw, wouldn't hurt a fly, would'ja? Listen, me 'n' my buddy Sparky here are a mite bit turned around. Y'all think you can show us a way outta here?

[The Roggenrolla conferred between each other, the braver one beating a tiny timpani rhythm - Dell could only hope it was an impassioned defense for his character. After several seconds of deliberation, they turned back to him, and bowed in unison.]

Knew I could count on you, pals. Let's move 'em out!

[Sparky lifted from the rocky gravel with a delighted buzz. New friends to talk to! As it bizzed and buzzed away at its new conversational partners, Dell hauled himself up as well, following behind the group of Pokémon with a smile on his face.]
