    Episode Summaries

    Personality:
Friendly, laid-back, and caring, Hunk is the easiest member of Team Voltron to get along with, quickly befriending the others of the team despite not knowing them for very long, as well as other aliens across the universe. His warm and gentle nature is balanced with cautious logic, often serving as a voice of reason with his friends. When we first meet Hunk, he is a cautious, easily nauseated, and worrisome individual. However, his seemingly timid and fearful nature gives voice to a more logical look at things. He often points out the obvious in dangerous situations which helps reminds his friends and teammates that, hey, yeah, this is actually some legit crazy, and dangerous shenanigans we are in right now.

While he's been shown to try and back out of a troublesome scenario, he usually doesn't fight against it too much, and will follow his friends, supporting them as needed. Although, not without continuing to voice any objections he may have over the decision, or any nervous, anxious thoughts that cross his mind.

As things progress he begins to feel more comfortable in his role as Paladin of Voltron, and a defender of the universe. While at first he wishes he would have just stayed home, and not been dragged into a giant space war, Hunk is now glad he didn't. Being a part of the team that is helping free various worlds and races from the tyranny of the Galra Empire, Hunk has come to embrace his place as the Yellow Paladin. It is something that can be seen in his growing skills, and confidence as a pilot. Being the team engineer Hunk was more comfortable on the ground, fixing things. Now, he is as formidable as any of his other teammates on the battle field. His protectiveness over those important to him make him a force to be reckoned with, showing a more single-minded, aggressive side that brings out his inner warrior. Rather than being the first to run away when danger strikes, Hunk now runs right into the fray. Even when not in his lion, Hunk will charge down and use all the tools he has at his disposal to make it through a fight, including his body.

Hunk can also be stubborn when he feels he's in the right. When the others were more than willing to just trust Rolo and Nyma, Hunk was suspicious and continually made it known he didn't trust them. He was also the voice of reason in not letting them on the ship, bringing up the previous disaster from leaving the Castle open to the Arusians. When it was revealed that the two had, unsurprisingly, betrayed the team, Hunk wasted no time in reminding the other Paladin's that he had known all along, very much putting on the "I told you so!!" act. However, he is also forgiving, and willing to give others a second chance. As the Voltron Coalition begins to take form, Hunk encounters Rolo and his crew again. This time however, after hearing all the work they've been doing to help the rebel forces, Hunk greets them as friends and allies.

    Strengths & Weaknesses:

+Super Intelligent - Next to Pidge, Hunk is one of the smartest members of the team. He has no trouble suddenly talking about complex mathematical and scientific formulas or calculations, and was able to use random pieces of scrap to build a tracking device for an energy signature not even native to Earth.

+Natural Strength - Hunk is listed as the strongest of the team, and it shows in how easily he wields a heavy hand cannon, and carries a grown Altean man on his shoulders while firing said cannon with great efficiency.

+Engineering - Despite the higher levels of tech used by many of the alien races, Hunk hasn't had too much trouble working with it. He has even been able to rewire, or build things from it with very little trouble.

+Cooking - One of the areas he feels the most comfortable in, Hunk is able to take alien ingredients and turn them into dishes that are not only safe for human consumption, but also are super delicious. He has also been able to use them to make food similar to those from Earth, such as pizza rolls.

-Prone to Puking - Even though he has gotten more and more used to flying Yellow, Hunk still seems to have trouble now and then with getting sick and throwing up, especially if heights are involved.

-Easily Stressed/Prone to Panic - Any time a situation comes up that inevitable leads to trouble, Hunk is the first to start wigging out. Which often lands him in even more, deeper trouble than he originally started out with.

[Hunk flips on his camera, the sounds of something sizzling in a pan filtering through in the background.]

Okay, so one perk of this place is that the food is totally similar to what we have back on Earth in my world. Fruits and vegetables are practically identical! It's great! I'm just wondering how that works into a Pokemon's diet, you know? Like... Back home dogs can't eat chocolate. It'll make them really sick. Would the same happen to my Rockruff, Shay?

[Apparently, hearing her name is all it takes for the little rock dog to start barking. Hunk gently shushes at her. It takes a moment or two before she settles back down.]

I guess I'm just wondering how gourmet I can get for my special girl here. Any advice would be super appreciated. In return, I offer up my cooking skills to you and your Pokemon!

    Personality:
Credence is the definition of kicked puppy. He grew up being the brunt of his adoptive mother’s rage stemming from his “wicked mother”. As if it was his fault that his mother was wicked. Too bad he has been taught to believe everything is his fault.

Not to say it's crushed all the hope in him. Despite being taught his entire life to turn away from witchcraft he harbors a natural curiosity for it. It leads him into obvious trouble and he's taken advantage of in his desperation to escape the life he has lived thus far.

He is shy, cripplingly so and his head is often bent down. Making eye contact is too bold for him and he apologizes for things he hasn't done yet out of habit, even if there is no need. He accepts abuse without argument due to the years of conditioning.

Confrontation can shake him badly, causing him to back away. He doesn't want people upset with him and he is eager to please if it means less hurt. This has the obvious side effect of being easily manipulated.

Panic attacks aren't unusual for him and are his usually reaction to too much fear and stress. Anger is something to be pressed far down and bottled away. Whether or not it will ever explode out…

Well, nothing he's aware of has happened anyway.

Still, Credence is the type that with a bit of actual real love he could blossom, even at his age. Possibly. Maybe he's just too broken though. That is his thinking anyway.

There was no reason to sit here and wallow. He couldn’t just.. Sit here and not do anything. In this town. On this porch of a house he didn’t know. Having been kicked out by a woman he didn’t know. Who said she was his mother. No, this wouldn’t work. He couldn’t just remain here. He needed to figure this out.

Credence stands up, hands in fists, rubbing fingers together nervously. Then he adjusts his jacket. Adjusts his sleeves. Belt. Shirt. Hair. Stands there for a bit more.

Then he sits back down on the edge of the porch, holding his head in his hands. What was happening and why? Why couldn’t he just step off the porch and get going? He couldn’t just sit here forever could he? No, he couldn’t. He would starve at the very least. He couldn’t let himself.. Starve or anything could he?

The Fennekin he’d been given was sitting some feet away from the porch, staring at him. She stands and walks over to look up at him quietly before gently biting down onto his sleeve. She pulls him, until he’s leaning forward to try and keep her from tearing his clothes.

    “T-Tina, I don’t think I can do this…”

She gives him a determined look and another tug. Credence shakes his head a little before pulling in a deep breath and standing up from the porch, picking the Fennekin up as he does so. He steps off, feeling the dirt of the path, tightening his hold on the Fennekin as she snuggles up onto his shoulder.

    “..Okay… Okay. Let’s. .. Let’s go.”

    Original Character Background: N/A

Personality: Finn starts out as something of a slightly reluctant hero. His first instinct used to be to run, but all it took was friends in danger and a little bit of hope to drag him back in to fighting for what's right. That reluctance has almost completely diminished recently, mostly because of him really seeing how the First Order affects people other than himself.

He's empathetic. During training, he would routinely rescue another trooper who continually fell behind, despite the rest of his team's complaints and the First Order's philosophy of leaving the weak to die.

He's quick to care about people. Part of this is due to his previous life as a stormtrooper, where he was seen as one expendable number among many. Therefore, he tends to latch on to any sincere attempts on friendship with people who treat him like an actual human being. A clear example of this is when he went to Starkiller Base to save Rey despite only knowing her for less than a day.

Finn is a terrible liar. While he has done so successfully, it's mostly to people who want to believe him.

He doesn't like fighting people except in the defense of himself or others. It's this tendency that led to him defecting from the First Order in the first place, when they tried to force him to fire on innocent villagers.

When actually getting into a fight, he is incredibly determined, often to his detriment. This can be seen in his effort to fight off Kylo Ren, even after receiving a a shoulder injury courtesy of Ren's lightsaber, and nearly dies because of it. Additionally he tried to take down the First Order's battering Ram, knowing he would die in the attempt.

[Finn angles the camera to show a group of Rockets following him. There's a horribe screech as Rebel fires a Supersonic at them in an attempt to ward them off.]

-and those are the guys chasing me because I woke up in their base.

[The pair ducks down an alley, just barely managing to avoid a visible Flamethrower, and keep running]

I would really love a blaster right about now. If there's anyone out there listening that can help get these guys off our tails and explain what hell is going on, please help. Because I really have no idea what's going on, right now.

If you need to find out where I am, just follow the sound of the crazy animals that are trying to set me on fire. And the yelling, definitely the yelling. That should be easy enough.

And if you see anybody named Poe, Rey, or Chewbacca, tell them I am really outnumbered and could use some backup right about now.

[With that said, Finn shuts off the Gear, hoping he managed to get a message to somebody out there. Because if not, without some serious luck on his side he was pretty much doomed at this point.]

    Matt's wiki page

Personality: Matt is a cheerful, caring and many times sneaky person with a deep love for his family and space. As a teenager, he was very excitable, joking about peas with his family, rambling about cryptography and astronomy to his sister and sending coded messages to his father in space, in spite of regulations from the space military. While in space, he started rambling excitedly to Shiro, his pilot and friend, wondering what they'd discover. Matt also has a deep sarcastic streak, making jokes to everyone around him, about how his looks and muscles got him into school, and punning about food goo.

His family is the most important thing in his life, even more than his love of space travel. When faced with a gladiatorial battle, and possible death, his first, and only thought was that he would never see his family again. He has kept up his sneakiness, even through everything that has happened to him, leaving a coded message to find him that only his father (or sister) would be able to decode.

He is also brilliant, teaching his sister advanced cryptography while she was in middle school, as well as getting into the quite-selective Garrison due to his intelligence. After he was captured, he picked up fighting quickly, learning how to be effective with a staff, even though he was not a fighter to begin with. He also helps his sister make a communications system that can monitor all of the communications of an entire interstellar fleet.

Due to his time in captivity, however, he is currently more reserved than before he left Earth. His excitement has been tempered slightly. He mostly shows hints of his younger self when he's with his sister. He'll chatter with his sister about their communications system, falling somewhat quiet when he's around larger groups, settling for just a small smile, or a simple 'sir' to an old friend. The one notable exception is his over-the-top reaction when faced with a space princess, someone he had never thought he'd actually encounter. His youthful enthusiasm, however, has turned into a solid, passionate determination to fight for what he believes in, freedom for not just his family, but the rest of the universe.

    Character
    Name: Orion James Luis
    Series: Original
Timeline: Shortly after the disappearance of Ivy.

    Original Character Background:

There isn't much of a difference between Orion's world and our own, in fact until around 2004 they would have appeared exactly the same to almost anyone, they had to him until things began to change. Please note that due to this reality being so close to our own many of our own legends of Greek Mythology and their history are likely the same unless noted otherwise.

Legend had it for many generations that the Greek gods had been trapped away in a Labyrinth for countless years and were due to return and reclaim their rightful place again. It was sometime in the beginning of the new millennium that it became apparent such a day would likely be soon. And when the gods did come back, they would need support from their followers, whatever believers remained.

Orion was a child raised by his mother in Greece, he never met the man that fell in love with her as his father traveled for work and never settled to be with his family. An American who never stayed in one place long enough, paying the bills by being anywhere but home. A man that made his family because of his job, and in the end, chose said job over his family.

When he was little Orion spent a majority of his time in Athens with his grandparents, because his mother was too ill to care for a young child. There had been complications during the pregnancy that took a lasting toll on her overall health, and in a misguided attempt to hope he'd find strength in his namesake she chose the name of a legend for her son, having idolized the hunter during her own studies of the gods. Her wish had always been for him to be strong but what his mother had forgotten was that although Orion was a name of great strength, his soul had also been cursed in love.

For as long as he'd been alive he knew the stories, he knew that his family had come from a long lines of priests and priestesses but he'd always dismissed them as ancient history from a time where such things were still believed. He never took his family's practices seriously, considering them to be rooted in superstition and tradition more than anything, and certainly not to actual loyalty to gods that hadn't existed for centuries, if at all.

As he got older Orion no longer became a burden during his mother's illness, but her sole caretaker. He was not yet 17 when she passed, once again leaving him in the care of his grandparents. It wasn't until then that his grandmother told him the true story, the reality behind myths and legends, and how they pertained to him.

Almost everyone knew the story of Artemis, the pure Goddess who loved Orion - and even though there were different versions of the tale, as with most myths, one thing remained true. In the end, no matter the degree of any feelings the godess held, Orion's love for her is what brought about his demise. The story that didn't reach everyone, however, was that Orion was said to have been born again. Orion's heart had belonged to Artemis, but he was later born a devoted priest of Athena, and his dedication to the Goddess of War came above all else. This story his grandmother only shared with him once he was old enough to understand and take on the responsibility that was held within it.

Orion's grandmother told him that this man had met a woman, this man who scorned love all his life eventually fell for a priestess of the erotes. The two, so dedicated to their duties and their families knew that they could never be together. Despite this, their bond was strong and they felt inseparable, as such they made a promise that some day they would be born again, and when that day came they would finally be free of other burdens and be together.

Now, as interesting as his grandmother's story sounded, Orion saw it folklore, ancient myths with no bearing in reality and nothing more. He dismissed it without a second thought until his grandmother took him aside one day to reveal more of the story. They were from a long line of priests of Athena, she explained. Although he'd known that his whole life what he wasn't aware of was how much actually went into their devotion. For generations, for centuries his family had waited for a sign that their gods would return. What he'd dismissed as tradition and old habits dying hard was in reality an active following of Athena - lying in wait for her return. Telling Orion that the gods had been trapped away in a Labyrinth for countless years and would reclaim their rightful place again once freed.

More importantly, if he truly was the soul reborn, it would likely be soon. And when the gods did come back, they would need support from their followers, whatever believers remained - and he would need to make a decision about where his loyalties would lie.

Orion eventually forgot about this story, time passed and he graduated high school. Getting accepted into the famous art school of Cetanose College, he found a small apartment nearby and a job at the local dog shelter walking and fostering dogs. He tried to make a normal living there, but things began to happen. He met people that were not quite right, others that claimed to be gods, and a beautiful blind girl named Ivy. Who told him about the dreams she had of a lover she lost in a past life, her devotion to the Erotes, and Orion's own role in all of this.

Even Athena did not expect his loyalty, knowing who he was, but Orion took his responsibility seriously. As much as he would have preferred a normal life with no immortals at all, an obligation to Athena was still an obligation.

Just when things were starting to get too unreal, Ivy was moved away by her family and Orion never heard from her again. It wasn't long after that he found himself pulled from his own world into another, answering to a whole new set of gods that his history books hadn't explained. There he lived in an underground temple, speaking for gods that were unable to communicate directly with their followers. Away from the burdens of his own life Orion lived a relatively normal - if technologically barren - existence, finding at this point that even being uprooted from his home world to help other gods didn't surprise him. When one day those gods stopped responding too, and he was left in an unfamiliar landscape with no purpose or way to return home.

    Personality:

Growing up Orion was a your typical teen with a chip on his shoulder. His mother was ill a lot of the time, his father traveled for work so he never saw him, and his grandparents seemed to live in some delusion in which following the ancient gods still mattered today. For the most part, Orion focused on living a fairly normal life, he went to school, he was raised by his grandparents where he couldn't do things on his own but he also took care of his mother once he was old enough. He was never the most social kid, preferring to go home and be with his mother when he could and generally coming off like a nerd to most of the other students his age. Orion was an artist, he preferred his notepad and pencils to the company of others his age and he spent a lot of his time absorbed in fantasies - comics, movies, tv shows and stories that he came up with himself, as explanations for his art work.

Having a quick wit was a defense mechanism he picked up early on, prone to dry sarcastic humor and a tendency to come off arrogant or condescending if he doesn't really know a person. Despite that, Orion is a dedicated and caring individual. Insisting on taking care of his mother once he was old enough, despite his grandparent's protests, he's always been a person devoted to his cause - whatever cause that may be at the time. Later, when he meets Ivy and learns of their supposed history together, he's just as stubborn about not letting her down. Due to this nature he's also quite a conflicted individual. Orion wants nothing more than to lead a normal life, be a boring regular human who goes to art school and strives to make his deceased mother proud. Instead, he's faced with the fact that his obligation to three separate women keeps him torn on many decisions. Because of this Orion has a tendency to go with the flow, little surprises him anymore after learning of his own history and involvement with the gods, and after dismissing the stories as fairy tales for his entire life he holds no devotion to either Athena or Artemis in his current carnation. Still, upon finding all of this out - and meeting them - Orion hears them out and tries to come up with a happy medium between all of his perceived obligations in this lifetime.

He takes on training with a sword and bow in order to support how serious he is about getting involved with these obligations, but his sense of duty remains torn with the desire to be a normal college kid falling in love with the girl of his dreams. At least, until Ivy is removed from the area by her family, likely in an attempt to keep her focused on her own duties and away from Orion. It's only then that he finds more of a purpose in his dedication to Athena and takes his role more seriously as a priest destined to bring believers back to the gods.

Although powers are stripped in Victory Road, Orion has many abilities that are less super-human and more natural talents, so for reference I've listed them below.

Orion has the ability to speak with and understand powers that may not be able to communicate directly with their followers. As a priest of a goddess in his own reality being able to "translate" and act as a voice piece for other gods is a genetic trait in his family. He also has an almost empathetic ability to calm animals, there is a level of understanding and mutual respect that is primarily shown with dogs, horses (or deer) and aquatic life. This was extremely useful in his line of work at an animal shelter, as he had a gift in luring out strays and relaxing animals in stressful situations, this would also be beneficial to him in catching pokemon to turn into Team Rocket. I'm not sure if this would tie into the "special exception" for characters that can communicate with animals, he can't understand normal animals like cats and dogs but he can understand powers that don't speak and I know pokemon are generally easier for humans to understand overall than real world animals.

He's taken up training in sword fighting and archery after meeting Athena, which he has a natural skill for and actually enjoys during his downtime. Due to the lore of Orion - and myth attributing him to Poseidon - he's able to walk on water, an ability that he's unaware of and wouldn't apply to this game anyway. However, he's also a natural swimmer with accelerated speed and endurance in comparison to average humans. He was definitely on the high school swim team.

    Series: Love Live! Sunshine!!
Timeline: Post Season One (to avoid spoilers for S2)
Canon Resource Links: it's a wiki luigi

Personality: 'Sunshine' is personified in Mari herself. Out of all of the members of her group-- and damn near anyone she knows --there is no bigger ray of light in a room when she steps into it. Mari is an ambitious, globetrotting young lady of only seventeen, who only wants one thing in life: To see people achieve their dreams and be happy. She is the kind of person who will go out of her way to see a goal blossom with energy, determination, and fun.

Always smiling, her catchphrase is the word SHINY which she uses as a descriptor in regards to other people and just something that she can yell out when she is excited. Not actually being Japanese, she tends to drop English or Italian words and phrases into her regular dialogue in a charming and silly manner that she finds to both be fun and a habit. For example, rather than greeting people properly, she will use Ciao or the English Hello without bowing and uses honorifics mostly because it is considered 'proper' by Japanese standards and she is supposed to look professional in some of what she does. In her time, she has studied abroad on multiple occasions, returning back and forth to Japan to attend the private Catholic school that she eventually goes on to manage throughout the course of the series. She has a love of Japanese phrases and idioms because of their inspirational messages and how they can tighten the morale of a group.

At the very beginning when Chika, You, and Riko wanted their ~ School Idol Club ~ advertised despite being swept aside by mostly anyone they showed it to, Mari (who had tried being an idol herself) told them that she would let them perform if they could get enough people to come watch. While they only get a dozen or so students to watch them, she allows it nonetheless and is the catalyst to Aqours existing the way it does now. Mari doesn't take the credit for it, citing her being the school's chairwoman as her reasoning when their school is having enough financial issues in a cliche plot-point that wasn't the plot of the first series at all. The opportunity to have Chika and her friends have their club-- despite what Dia says --fills her with the joy of getting to see them excel in the future while maintaining her position and job as the chairwoman. Not the type to abuse her power in anyway, at the end of the day her word trumps Dia's. Throughout the rest of the series, Mari exists as a force who aids the girls in their work, encouraging them as a type of mentor. If she sees a chance for success, she grabs it and holds fast.

While she is by no means the leader of Aqours, she is most certainly the backbone. As a product of her upbringing, she is business and money-savvy, priding herself in how she is able to organize the school while also maintaining the group's budget and advertising. This comes in the form of managing promotional videos, helping organize performance venues, and keeping tabs on their competition in Lives. A lot of the time, she can come off with ideas that are tacky or gimmicky. Do they need a spectacular and eye-catching scene for a video? She can get them a white horse to ride across the beach for them to yell their battle-cry for the cameras. None of the other girls have the experience that she does, so she will have no problem boasting her abilities...

Also she can just. Get that horse. Borrow it. Maybe return it. She's that rich. No consequences whatsoever come to mind at all for her.

It's funny when the other side of the coin is flipped because that is where Mari's surface personality jumps right into your face. 'Sunshine' being mentioned before is no joke. While she is the most 'professional' of the girls from a technical standpoint, the side of her we see the most is one of an energetic, inspirational young lady with a streak for extreme attention-seeking. Why did I mention the Hardcore Side of her first? Because it'll otherwise get drowned out by everything she throws on top of it. She is all about being loud and confident to a degree that can be grating on other people. She wears designer clothes, the flashiest accessories, and has the loudest voice in the world. If she isn't heard, her message hasn't gotten across. On the one hand, she uses her confidence as a driving force of encouragement. On the other, she can come off as extremely obnoxious and agitating to be around. The other girls (namely Dia) have to tell her to settle down when she begins flying off the rails despite her intentions generally being good-natured. She has no problem being flirtatious and using the various aspects of Idol Culture that make her unattainable by fans for the purpose of gaining PR and attention-- such as her costumes, the confidence in her looks, and her naivety toward Japanese culture that make her look like a ditz.

In several pieces of promotional media and side-stories, Mari expresses that she does not really understand why people in Japan are so 'uptight' about their ways of living as opposed to other countries. She thinks that everyone should be able to show how they feel deep inside of themselves and have fun during festivals or other recreational activities. It's almost too stuffy for her. She mentions a few times that she would like to bring elements from overseas to Japan just so that they can experience the fun of letting loose, such as haunted houses, horseback riding, and having big concerts at festivals. With other characters-- namely in relation to Dia --Mari wants nothing more than to see them perk up from a tough day's work with a trip to the beach or something other than practicing. It is admittedly difficult for her to get onboard with different cultural aspects compared to her own, but Mari does her best to have both worlds come together for not only herself, but the people around her. In the same vein, she finds Japanese culture to be very interesting! She has a fixation on the classical fashion of kimonos for ceremonial purposes and arts like calligraphy and ikebana, which she finds enriching and somewhat of a novelty.

Her sense of humor is another large part of herself. She enjoys teasing the other girls, playing practical jokes on them such as embellishing stories and following up with It was a joke! afterward no matter what their reactions may be afterward. She can be, however, extremely inappropriate toward others with little regard for how they may feel at the end of it. One of Mari's 'signature' moves is greeting other girls by way of grabbing their breasts and making lewd comments about them beyond her victim's comfort level. She sees no problem with this. Part of her does see it as an act that makes people uncomfortable, but the other part of her finds it to be just another one of those things that spices up the day and is a COMPLIMENT over a form of harassment. When her decisions are good, they are amazing. When they aren't, they run the risk of being a disaster that she will usually say 'oopsie' to and take in stride. This level of being obtuse reads as a form of immaturity on her part that she really doesn't seem to see in herself. Her childishness does not get in the way of what she is doing, but it definitely can impede on her relationships with others for a little while at a time.

That isn't to say that she does not have her judgmental lapses on larger scales. Mari is so concerned with making sure that other people are happy that she often forgets to take care of her own needs first. In the anime, Dia, Kanan, and herself attempted to make their own School Idol trio. When they were invited to Tokyo to perform in a competition, Mari injured her leg during practice. She refused to acknowledge it when her friends were concerned, assuring them that she could perform without any issues. This ultimately led to Kanan refusing to perform and Mari getting frustrated because they were then disqualified. For a couple of years, this beef with Kanan festered as Mari left without a word to study abroad with her father. Upon her return, she went to Kanan to ask for help with Chika's new School Idol group and was offended when she was refused. The entire plot of Mijuku Dreamer revolves around Mari venting her frustrations onto Kanan without acknowledging her pitfalls. By the end of the episode, she realizes that she was in the wrong and does not want to sacrifice her friendship over something that happened and could have been prevented years ago. It breaks her heart and is the one time in the series where she flat-out loses her cool and begins to cry and beg for forgiveness. It is extremely difficult for her to come to terms with her own wrongdoing but when she does, Mari uses the same enthusiasm to try mending bridges... Even if it takes a lot of work.

Her personal connection to the other girls is that of an older sister type. She is receptive to their feelings and frustrations when it comes to confidence or lack thereof. Gently pushing them, she helps them strive for the better. When You is upset over Chika becoming so attached to Riko, Mari sits with her and begins to ask and analyze her feelings of jealousy and the possibility of losing her childhood friend to The New Girl. Mari lovingly tells her that there is nothing to fear and if Chika is part of the team, she will come around and cement all of them together. She loves all eight of the other girls with her entire heart and will tell them at a moment's notice. All she wants in life is for others around her to love and be happy and she will not rest until that comes to actualization. She insists that every person on Earth was boring with a Shiny Heart and that is what makes them beautiful.

On a side note, she does have her moments of getting antsy or lazy behind the backs of the other girls. She often gets bored in school and is prone to napping or daydreaming instead of studying. Her favorite kind of music is not actually pop music, but rather Industrial Metal and other hard rock music because-- as with everything else she does and likes --it is full of the same energy that she is. Instead of flashy lights, she would like to rally for explosions. She strongly believes that she can use all of her methods to make Aqours take the world by storm. Her unorthodox way of thinking and going about side activities is a testament to how dedicated she is to making everything her own flavor.

Even if that involves taking every jar from the spice cupboard and throwing it into the pot just to see what happens.

At the end of the day, Mari doesn't have a mean bone in her body and all she wants to see is a sea of smiling faces in the audience and she will do her absolute best to make that a reality.

Timeline: End of Aliens, just entering hypersleep
    Canon Resource Links:
    Aliens:The Movie
    Newt: The Character

    Personality:

Despite only being seven years old, Newt is all about survival and her first rule of survival is to hide and get low. When offered a place to sleep, she sleeps under the bed because it's safer there. When put in chair with a security harness, she gets out of it, to get low in a corner, even though it's a moving vehicle. She's small and she knows she can get to places where others can't reach her, so she uses that to her advantage. She's smart and she's quick. You have to be a quick thinker when your movements are the difference between life and death. It was her idea to break the glass window when she and Ripley were trapped in the medical bay with facehuggers on the loose. She also has a good memory and moves around the ventilation shafts of the colony without getting lost. She even shows the marines a way to get out when they're trapped and surrounded by aliens and gives directions while inside the air vents.

Newt is an incredibly brave child. Not only did she witness the brutal death of her father but also her mother and brother and countless others as well. Despite this she kept going. She stayed one step ahead of the alien monsters and managed to survive all by herself. Building herself a little nest that she lived in, safe away from the monsters that couldn’t reach her in the small spaces. She still had to go out and get food and supplies, which would then bring her back into harms way but she always managed to survive those trips as well. She would also bring in random jewelry and some trinkets from her past life, like her school award plaque. Neither of these serve a purpose but the last one is most likely a treasured memory while the first items are just shiny things that she collects because they look nice.

Newt has had to slowly regain her faith in people being able to survive, after seeing her entire colony being murdered around her. For example, she tries to run away from the marines at first and is caught by Ripley. Ripley is also the one who brings her out of her shell, as at first she won’t even talk to the marine demanding answers from her and then she’ll only talk in whispers to Ripley. She’s also not willing to talk about her past at first. Snapping angrily that her family is dead and she wants to just get away from the marines and go back into hiding. She didn’t believe that the marines will be able to keep themselves safe, let alone her. She believed that she was safer on her own.

However it is Ripley out of all the people there that she grows to trust and open up to the most. In fact when rescued, she says she knew Ripley would come and get her, because the woman promised not to leave her. This is even after her own mother made the same promise and was killed despite it. So Ripley is the most important person to Newt, she's the one who reached out to her and gets her to open up. She talked to her about her own daughters death and treated Newt like a person and not just a witness to get information out of. By the end of the movie Newt even calls her mommy. She has the utmost trust in Ripley and firmly believes in her being able to save her.

As for other people, Newt likes people who take her seriously and don't just write her off as a kid. She likes being helpful and helps the marines with small tasks like moving things around the base they set up. She's slow to open up and trust in situations where she thinks the people are just going to be killed off because she has past experience with watching everyone she knows die. She starts to like the remaining marines though, and even learns their names and calls on one for help when she and Ripley are in trouble with a facehugger. The final two other survivors, Hicks and Bishop are very important to her by the end of the movie. They survived, even if hurt. Bishop even saved her life, despite being torn in half (he’s an android) by the alien queen.

Despite all everything that she's seen and been through, Newt still acts like a kid at times. She keeps a close hold of her dolls head when she's bored or scared and she'll talk to her doll as well. Especially when she's afraid, telling it that everything will be fine. And she does get scared when things go wrong, just like any child would. When she's captured by an alien, she screams because she’s terrified and knows what those things do. But when the mood lightens she giggles and flicks Ripley on the nose because she can. She doesn't like or take patronizing talk even when it's meant well. For example she tells Ripley that the reason Casey (her doll) has no bad dreams is because she's made of plastic and that’s all.

She's a tough kid that's been through hell and has a lot of mental scars from it. She has nightmares /"bad dreams" and is afraid to go to sleep at night, she even asks Ripley to stay with her because of her dreams. She's not nearly as feral as she was when she first found. She speaks to people and is more willing to open up and trust people, even after Burke betrayed them and tried to feed them to facehuggers. She hasn’t really had time to process the death of her family properly however, as she’s never had the chance to do anything but simply survive till now.

    Character
    Name: Eridan Ampora
    Series: Homestuck
Timeline: From the aftermath of 3x SHOWDOWN COMBO.
    Canon Resource Links: wwiki link

Personality: To put Eridan simply, he’s a raging selfish, hipster, wanna-be wizard, douchebag, prince with a genocide complex. But to go a little more in depth, he’s basically still that just with a little more foundation as to why. Being part of the troll race, which is highly violent and destructive, it’s natural for him to be a bit of an asshole. That of course, goes hand in hand with his blood, being the second richest hue in the hemospectrum(The system in which trolls use as a caste depending on blood color) making him royalty and he grew up as such; which by the way, he’ll remind you of repeatedly, because that’s what he is, royalty, don’t you forget it. But with being such, he’s also better than you, seeing as not only is he a troll AND royalty, but he’s also a sea dweller (which is a subspecies of troll that mutated, allowing them to live underwater). Basically, chances are, he’s better than you in some capacity if not all, and he’ll tell you as such, because he can’t let you forget the facts, you know the ones about him being better than you? Because that’s what he is. Better than you.

At first glance, he seems to be nothing more than a dramatic douchebag, which really basically IS what he is, seeing as through his love for Alternian history, wars, and the stories that follow such a genre, he’s crafted himself a dramatic and theatrical persona that follows suit to the epic stories of conquest and heart wrenching defeat and horrible betrayal and sweeping romance. With those tales, he’s molded himself a prideful, overly dramatic, and obnoxious identity. That coupled with his already ‘Holier than thou’ attitude makes for quite the charmer. Along with these most charming personality traits comes his interests, which having already covered his love for the glorious military history of Alternia and their captivating tales, comes his genocide complex, which one could easily imagine the idea spawned from these tales of glory and defeat, along with him being a vicious sea dweller. Trolls are violent as is, but as one climbs the rainbow ladder that makes up the hemospectrum, the higher you get, the more violent the troll. Eridan definitely reigns true on this fact, seeing as he’s sworn it as his destiny to kill all land dwellers! With such plans, he amassed a great deal of doomsday devices and weapons with the help of his then kismesis(Basically hategirlfriend), Vriska Serket.

Of course, he amassed these by his FLARPing sessions with her. FLARP being Fatal Live Action Role-Play. This is a pretty common thing for Troll kids to take part in, but it often ends in death and revenge cycles. Eridan, miraculously, avoided both in his time, perhaps because he killed anyone before they could start a revenge cycle or kill him, and also because he was more so in a partnership/rivalry with Vriska so it never quite got to that point between them at least. However, he was a very seasoned FLARPer and as notorious as Vriska, they defintiely swept the seas and divided the spoils among each other for a good while! Eridan killing lusii to keep Feferi’s own fed, while Vriska took the trolls for her own lusus. All the while Vriska giving him these dooms day devices to help him in his plot to KILL ALL LANDDWELLERS. Which always failed.

While Eridan may dramatically boast about his intent on killing all land dwellers, it’s made obvious by his then moirail(another quadrant in troll romance) Feferi, that she didn’t think he actually had the intent to kill them, seeing as he made friends with a few of them. This may be true, which evidence does point more towards her speculation being as such since at any moment he could have killed them all with minimal effort, since he kept her lusus fed in order to keep its voice down. Had her lusus even began to whisper, trolls would have started dropping dead like flies. But one could presume that maybe he was trying to preserve what he had with Feferi as well, since she definitely wasn’t for his plans. A point he’s actually pretty sore about.

Which ever it is, it’s pretty apparent that Eridan is rather dubious with how he holds himself, which of course makes him come off as a raging douche, which he is, surely I failed to mention that before. He often times judges people by their worth to him, trying to use them to whatever extent he can to achieve his goals and hardly valuing them as a person--he mainly does this, though, with those lower on the hemospectrum. He also holds very entitled views for things he does, and when he doesn’t get what he thinks he deserves, he bitches and moans and complains--mainly to Karkat. Much like he had done in the veil when Nepeta had rejected him after he saved her life by getting her into the game. Karkat, of course, calls him out on his shit after he refers to her as “the kitty cat shipper cave girl” instead of by name, which one could assume he might not even REMEMBER her name at all because of her lowblood status. Which, Eridan very maturely changes the subject instead of owning up to being the insensitive douche he is.

He also hardly cares if he’s not being as gentle as he should be, because fuck your feelings they don’t mean shit compared to his. Which is probably why his flushed feelings for his moirail went very unrequited, since he never once really thought about her feelings in their relationship, or really considered her feelings for much of anything other than not using her lusus to kill all land dwellers. He had wanted something more red with her, but ended up playing his cards wrong and getting into the pale quadrant with her. Which, instead of trying to define his feelings to her in a less dubious fashion, he continued their romance and hardly acted the part of a moirail should, which leaves no question as to why their relationship ended how it did. This of course, devastated Eridan and the dramatics went everywhere, because woe is he, how could she leave him?!

This is another important point about Eridan though, as much as he whines and complains and throws around dramatics like a monkey does its own shit, there is a distinct difference between him dramatically whining and him being legitimately sad. He doesn’t so much like to show off his actual, genuine emotions, in fact a good deal of them need to be dragged out of him, where as he’s ready and willing to throw around his fake tears and wibble lips and scarf chewing and running off in a dramatic fashion and making a huge tool out of himself to everyone around him. Which, most people just get tired of, especially when he does this display when someone rejects him. Oh did I not mention how he throws himself at someone if they show the vaguest sense of interest at him? Yeah he does that too.

He wasn’t always such a desperate tool, really only getting to that apex of his personality through losing nearly EVERYTHING. As the twelve of them entered the game, one could argue that this hipstery fool lost more than anyone. For most, they escaped the tyranny of their own homeworld, where as Eridan lost all footing his homeworld gave him. Not to mention, he lost two quadrants almost simultaneously! That’s a HUGE shot to anyone’s ego, and Eridan didn’t take it well. But, then again, what 13 year old child would? And things only got worse for him in the game. He basically exiled himself to his own planet, where he killed angels, and felt utterly victimized by everyone’s “negligence” towards him, and then when they went to claim their victory BAM, they get stuck on a meteor waiting to die. However, while everyone else was busy worrying about important things, Eridan’s flirting with humans, so he really doesn’t help himself at all. He's the master of self sabotage.

Eridan is definitely something of an acquired taste he requires someone to acquire some taste, it takes a certain kind of person to deal with him on a day to day basis, especially when he really brings a lot of his own woes onto himself with his ridiculous attitude and bullheadedness and then tries to play the victim when he fucks up. He’s very dramatic in every way possible, even when showing general gratitude he throws in his own flare of dramatics. An example of which is when Kanaya made him his science stick, he definitely pulled out his wibble lip in thanking her there. Which by the way, this SCIENCE stick is powered by science, not magic, cuz magic is fake and science isn’t ok? Good.

Who cares if he is really into magic, despite him recognizing it’s fiction, this thing is powered by science and nothing else! (Except, chances are, it IS magic.) His fascination with what he so eagerly writes off as fiction is painfully apparent, with how it lead him to hassle Rose later on in the veil. Accusing her of such fraudulent acts, while in the same conversation he tries to solicit her for a black relationship and even demanding she shares with him her secrets of witchcraft--this of course ended in bitter rejection and Eridan losing his computer on account of her using her fakey fake fictional magic to explode it in his face. So in short, Eridan is a bit of a hypocrite. Okay, he’s a huge hypocrite, but fuck that noise because if it benefits him it hardly matters a damn bit, right? Right.

He relentlessly antagonizes people in hopes of getting a kismesis and then tries to swoon people into a matespritship, it hardly works--in fact doesn’t at all, but he’s trying. Trying to get people to like/hate him and trying to do what HE thinks is right, but he goes about it in all the wrong ways, that it pushes everyone away and makes himself miserable. He’s excessively difficult about near everything, and extremely stubborn, he had spent a great deal of the game killing angels on his own planet, despite Karkat trying to convince him to stop. Eridan was so set on being right about this, that he stayed there the whole time (Till he left to try and duel Sollux), but later bitches that no one would visit him on his planet, despite how he made the place a war zone. He is such the victim in this, as you can see.

Eventually, through an instance of his stubbornness and thinking he’s right about a solution to their horrible situation in the veil (Of course not without some egging on by a certain double-horned, bipolar, mustard-blooded troll) he demonstrates how thoughtless and vicious he can be by throwing a tantrum and with it he KINDA guarantees their species’ extinction via destroying the one thing they need to reproduce. Of course not before killing the girl he loved and one he regarded as a friend right after blinding the troll who stole "his" girl from him, and then absconding to go and duel some more. This all because he thought he knew how to save Feferi and himself, what with them being trapped on a meteor with the other 10 trolls waiting for death, but his plan was pretty stupid and not so well thought out, so of course it ended disastrously.

As much as Eridan isn’t completely heartless, he’s too wrapped in his own emotions and ideals to really think and consider other people as much as he should, or really even think about his actions before he does them. He’s an extremely impulsive and entitled jerk, who IS trying, but just doing it entirely wrong. He’s definitely misguided with his ideals and with troll society being what it was, but it hardly excuses him being the vicious dickbag he is.

    Character
    Name: Panty Anarchy
Series: Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt
Timeline: Ep. 11, pre-shitstorm with the Demon Sisters/Brief/etc
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki

    Personality: Firstly, Panty's a real-life Angel.

Now that that's out of the way... she's a really fucking awful angel. Like "booted out of heaven for misbehaving" sort of awful. When people think of an "Angel", usually it's some mix of pious, saintly, messenger-of-God, give the shirt off their own back to clothe the poor kind of stuff with a halo and wings stapled on. PANTY IS NONE OF THOSE THINGS.

She's loud, arrogant, crude, a shameless nymphomaniac, and has pretty much zero moral compass to speak of. Garterbelt serves as both the Anarchy sisters' boss and handler, making sure they're pointed in the right direction and cleaning up after them; both Panty and Stocking have a tendency to leave a trail of destruction in their wake during their ghost hunts, and care very little about the lives they're endangering in the process. In one episode, the Demon sisters take Brief hostage and threaten to kill him if the angels don't surrender, to which they respond with a resounding "we literally don't give a shit, go right ahead". Scanty and Kneesocks are appropriately horrified.

You know it's bad when literal Demons are telling you you're doing your angelic duties wrong.

In terms of relationship dynamics, Panty is The Brawn™ of the two sisters. What she lacks in finesse she more than makes up for in firepower and charisma - charging in with guns blazing (quite literally) to soften up the competition so Stocking can mop up stragglers is the usual strategy, and without her sister's support and smarts to temper her wild streak, Panty frequently finds herself ass-deep in trouble of her own making. Alone, they're pretty damn strong. Together, they're practically untouchable.

Panty's strength, ironically, is a double-edged sword. Her "I don't give a shit" attitude pairs well with her preference of busting into dangerous situations head-on; enemy ghosts are commonly frustrated or stymied by having their trickery or traps entirely ignored, forcing them to face the Anarchy sisters in a contest of sheer power. Seeing as their only serious competition is a pair of equally powerful Demons... yeah. The ghosts always lose.

On the other hand......... she's kinda dense. Really dense. Stocking often has to dumb down explanations for Panty to understand the finer points of a situation or to get exactly what insults either Scanty or Kneesocks are throwing at them, and she lacks a significant amount of foresight and/or common sense.
Perfect example: they have a runaway ghost at their mercy, and Panty stops Stocking from killing it right away since it has a piece of her clothing (shit's expensive, obviously she doesn't want her sword swinging maniac of a sister to accidentally slice and dice a pair of perfectly good underwear)....... and it gets away. And turns into an even bigger iteration, which causes yet more havoc. Good job.

...did I mention she turns underwear into guns and then shoots stuff with them? Yeah. That's a thing.

TL;DR: The World's Worst Angel, thirsty basic ho, total asshole with a bombshell body and a bad attitude. Also has a peculiar fondness for fatally spicy foods (She'd eat Carolina Reaper peppers like popcorn tbh) but that's really just useless trivia.

    Silent Hill 1
    Silent Hill 3
    Harry Mason

    Personality:

Harry Mason is a devoted father and he will do anything for his daughter. In the first Silent Hill game, he took on an entire town of monsters and killed a god just so get could find his daughter again. After leaving the town with his child, now a baby again, he went and raised her by himself. They were almost caught by the cult from Silent Hill but Harry killed the person who found them, in self defence. In short there is almost nothing Harry will not do to keep his daughter safe. He also worries a great deal about her safety thanks to the cult and just general fatherly over protectiveness. Heather has described him as a worry-wart and when she was a teenager he gave her a stun-gun to protect herself. So yeah, he is a worry-wart. But then again, he's had good reasons to worry.

Harry is also quite a logical person. When in Silent Hill he keeps careful records of his time there, also recording all the places he goes on the maps he finds of the area. This way he doesn’t get lost as much and he knows where to search next when he's going through the town. He’s clever as well because there are many puzzles scattered across the town and Harry had to solve them before being able to continue onward. And some of these puzzles are quite difficult and weird. Some involved finding different keys, some involved rhymes and pianos and some involved chemicals. So he's smart and also a good writer, being able to make a living off of it before and after his "adventures" in Silent Hill.

Harry went from a man sure that the world was a logical and sane place, if a dangerous one; to someone that was suddenly aware that cults were not always making up what they preached and that the supernatural was quite real. This change comes as he goes through Silent Hill the first time, starting to accept more and more that reality isn't what he thinks it is and that his daughter isn't what he thinks she is either. Watching Lisa realize she's actually dead and having to kill Cybil who has a parasite on her, are things the push him into fully believing that what's happening can't be explained away by normal methods.

Harry also harbors a lot of guilt for his actions in Silent Hill, even after all these years. Most notably for not being able to do anything to save Lisa and Cybil. He views the fact that he ran from Lisa, as a cowardly one and that he killed Cybil as something he can never fully forgive himself for. He understands that they were both things he could do nothing for, or had to do but he still wishes there were something he could have done. Part of him still blames himself.

While Harry trusts his daughter to do the right thing, when he was given the baby at the end of Silent Hill 1 he wasn't so sure. In his notes in Silent Hill 3, he confesses he almost killed the baby or simply abandoned her, because he was so afraid that it was really just Alessa, who he blamed at the time for taking his daughter Cheryl away. However he didn't give in to that fear and learned to love Heather just as much as he had Cheryl. However he still holds his thoughts and actions he almost did, against himself, writing in his notes to Heather, that he was a terrible person to have thought such a thing about her.

These thoughts of guilt he keeps close to himself and only his daughter really knows about them. He's had years of keeping everything about Silent Hill hidden from everyone, his daughter included. She only found out about his story through his notes and talking to him when he appeared in route. Being in route has helped him come to terms with his guilt somewhat, because he's met Lisa and Cybil here and was able to talk to them. Also just through time with the secret of Silent Hill out in the open between him and his daughter as well as Henry Townshend knowing about the town. This has helped as he no longer has to keep the whole thing locked inside him.

Harry’s not the best when it comes to social situations. He’s a friendly man; however he cut himself off from the world when his wife died which was years ago. His profession as an author gives him another reason to stay away from people, working from home. That’s why in Silent Hill his conversations are rather awkward and slightly one tracked. He’s honest and a good man. He was just not as in touch with the world as he was before his wife died. He was quite content to just look after his daughter and quietly write. Though he was willing to take her on a trip when she requested to go to a place called Silent Hill. The social isolation got even worse after Silent Hill and after the whole, on the run from the cult thing happened and Harry became even more isolated. He changed their names, dyed his daughters hair and kept them moving. Mostly keeping to himself socially, worried that if he made too many connections that would lead to them being found by the cult.

However after being at route for three years, he's gotten better at opening up and talking to people. He's not the best but he can start conversations casually now and make posts, make jokes, make friends. It took a while but he's not as paranoid about the cult, the fact that they essentially caught and killed him, helped with that as his worst fear already came true. Speaking to his daughter to find out that they didn't succeed in using her to end the world helped a lot as well and just made him feel better about not being able to be there for his daughter. Which he does still feel bad for, but he now blames the cult for that, more then himself, for once.

Canon Resource: Beware, for it is long and full of spoilers.

    Personality:
Fushimi is a realist. There are no heroes, only your own merit and unfortunately the world has hardly lived up to his expectations. Most find him depressing to be around. Lazy and disinterested in most things Fushimi has a laundry list of things he dislikes and will tell you them as well.
Anti-social to a fault he also will be glad to make it known that he doesn’t like people either. Back home, coworkers are low on his list of interesting things and he preferred to avoid social events. With enough badgering he will attend such frivolities but often there’s complaints on the tip of his tongue. He would much prefer staying by himself, focusing on video games and programming, anything to focus his mind on and feel as if he’s accomplishing a task. At least, as long as it’s challenging enough.
Friends are not something he makes easily and he has enough barbed walls of steel up to make it difficult for those who want to try. He has a jealous streak a mile wide and when the one friend he had in the past seemed to move on he began petty antics to gain even negative attention. Resentment can run rampant as well and he will take it out on those he deems as thieves of his time spent with those he cares about.
Still, once a friendly connection has been forged he may extend a helping hand. A part of him still craves that positive connection he once had.
He has a twisted side to him as well, bordering sadistic. He’s willing to act in a cut-throat manner to achieve his goals and if he wishes to particularly get a rise out of an opponent he will play up a more gleefully psychotic personality that he draws from someone in his past. Fushimi generally appears unafraid of anyone and is quick to prove that fear is nothing to him.
Unfortunately, there are people he fears despite attempts to bury it deep. His sensitivity also shows in other ways. Though awkward and seemingly disinterested he is open to indulging in the whims of children. Children and animals as well both seem to enjoy his presence as if to spite him for being anti-social in the first place.

He’s thus far been one of the only 2 notable person to have multiple auras, amassing 3 separate auras by the end of the series (And being the only one to do so). I feel this is pretty fitting to a Type: Null who after evolving can also utilize multiple types through item usage. Outside of that, as Null is a research project by Silph Co. and Fushimi is interested in puzzles of the world he could study it as well.

    Series: Kingdom Hearts
    Timeline: Post Dream Drop Distance
Canon Resource Links: Roxas's fandom wiki entry.
If there is something specific you want explained about Kingdom Hearts I promise to do my best to explain it.

    Personality:
Given that he is Sora's nobody, a lot of what makes Roxas who he is comes from Sora. It shouldn't be surprising, at all, that he's just about as naive as they come. He's a child forced to do an adult's job, and he sometimes just isn't sure how to handle the seriousness of what is happening around him. Then again, given he's part of Organiztion XIII, most of the time he just has no idea what's going on anyway. He looks at everything like it's a new adventure with new things to learn and has a childlike wonder towards most of it. Every world he goes to is just as fascinating to him as the last. He looks to the older members of the organization to teach him how to function, especially since he has no memories of his own, and takes bits and pieces of all their personalities in order to become the person he is now.

One thing that also carried over from Sora is how ridiculously loyal Roxas can be. He'll do pretty much anything that is asked of him, without question, wanting to prove that he's not useless and that he has a place within the organization. At least, that's how he started. While he began with a devotion to the organization as a whole, it evolved into a devotion to his close friends and companions. He feels a drive to help and protect them, no matter the nature of the threat, even if it's from something else that holds his loyalty to a lesser degree such as the leaders of the Organization. Along with this loyalty comes an eagerness to please and make everyone happy. He's usually the first to jump at a chance to do something if it means making others happy and is like an adorable puppy that will run off wagging his tail without really thinking things through completely.

With the good always comes the bad. There are a small handful of dark traits which Roxas has found himself with that seem to be more his than Sora's. He's very temperamental, which is strange for someone that supposedly doesn't have a heart. Most of the organization members simply 'ghost' emotions, while Roxas seems to actually experience them. Even with as happy go lucky as he is, Roxas is very quick to anger. His anger melds more with frustration a lot of the time, growing into something of a determined rage. Much of this often spawns from being unaware or unable to comprehend the depth of events unfolding around him, or his own nature. Sometimes his anger and confusion leads him to brash decisions and sends him down unorthodox paths. Unlike Sora, Roxas finds himself actually hating some individuals and holding grudges. Thankfully, time spent chilling in Sora's heart has calmed his temperament some, and given him some insight into the way the world looks.

Even with his ever-onward attitude, Roxas does find road blocks in life in the form of insecurities. He doesn't know who to trust or what to believe at times, and that makes him fumble quite a bit. He finds himself unsure of whether or not he's actually a real person and that makes it hard for him to move forward sometimes. It's these insecurities and doubts that make him bitter and resentful, hating the organization for what they made him into and what they were using him for, and even making him hate Sora for a time. Roxas is able to accept what he is and what his purpose is wholeheartedly. He knows, deep down, that being a part of Sora is what he's meant to be and he goes willingly, allowing himself to rest and finally feel whole, even if he's not his own person anymore.

    Series: Final Fantasy XIV
    Timeline: Post 4.0
    Canon Resource Links: wiki

Personality: Alphinaud is smart and he knows it, and because of it he has a huge ego. His intentions are however good, as he wants to be the protector of Eorzea (fantasy Europe) that his grandfather was. Between being among the youngest admitted and graduating from the Studium (fantasy Harvard) and having a prestigious family, he is very confident in his abilities. This has often led him terribly astray, as others have used his influence and organizational abilities to harm others and incite violent rebellions.

He tries to always put out this calm, professional demeanor. He is not easily rattled by opponents, but his sister and close friends can break his cool facade when they choose to tease him. In spite of his prestige and wading in of all the diplomacy he does, he is a pretty simple teenage boy. He is spurred on by hormones, the desire for a brother that approves of him, and to be useful and important. He has his silly weaknesses, such as his fear of ghosts and inability to swim. He’s totally a nerd, though he idolizes rugged masculinity. Even if those possessing those qualities like to tease him for his physical shortcomings, general femininity, and survival wilderness ignorance.

We learn that Alphinaud is an extremely adept artist for his age, and that he honed his talents in order to impress girls at the Studium. As much as he likes to impress women, he is often enough mistaken for one or teased for acting like one. He and his sister look remarkably alike, and when not in her company, NPC acquaintances constantly mistake him for her. The man he shares a brotherly relationship with whom he idolizes teases him for “mewling like a maiden” as he cries at his bedside when he thinks the man might die.

In spite of often being the youngest person in the room, he asserts himself as an adult and is often respected as one. He earns his place easily. When he sets out to do something, he goes in to succeed at peril of dying if he fails. When all thought that his brother-figure would die at the hands of an evil dragon’s influence, he alone said that he would snatch him from the jaws of death.

Alphinaud parries verbal blows and keeps up with conversations, often at pace or with fuller comprehension than anyone else listening. He is often relied upon as the strategist and the guy to do the talking.

    Character
    Name: Sidurgu Orl
    Series: Final Fantasy XIV
Timeline: End of the 70 questline
    Canon Resource Links: Wiki link

    Original Character Background: N/A

Personality: To start things off, Sidurgu is a pretty complicated guy. Having come from the land of Othard—the Azime Steppe in particular, which is rampant with Xaela Au Ra who war between each other—he's never really been in an environment that's been at all peaceful. However, he wasn't there for long, before his clan fled to Eorzea, which only lead to more bloodshed and strife, permanently scarring the boy emotionally.

It's from there he developed into the standoffish (almost cruel) man he is. He doesn't hesitate to kill off those he perceives as a threat to him and his, and has no qualms with killing people who conflict with his sense of justice. However, that isn't to say he's just some rampant murderer, he kills with a cause! He protects the weak from those of higher social standing, who otherwise reap no consequences for their actions. He's the justice they so deserve, but at the cost of being an outcast, and hated by not only his enemies, but those he even serves and protects.

Thus is the way of being a dark knight.

That being said, he isn't exactly the most selfless person either. Having taken on a charge named Rielle, he saved her from certain death at the hands of the Temple Knights with the aid of his long time companion Fray; his deeds weren't exactly based entirely out of the goodness of his heart. Though he often claims his violence and killing is for Rielle's sake, the girl picks up there's something more too it. Which, there certainly is.

For all he's sworn an oath to protect Rielle, it really comes down to the fact he's using her as his own means of redemption and vengeance against the Temple Knights. That isn't to say he doesn't want to help her, or that he doesn't care to some degree: he does. It's just that his vengeance against those who have wronged him often tints every endeavor. While he abhors the injustices that the Temple Knights often dish out to the undeserving, it's that same injustice that he once faced that fuels him, drives him to protect the weak, to play the protector that he once had, that he would have died if he had been without.

Due to being raised as a young vigilante, and having a life filled with bloodshed (as well as being an outcast), Sidurgu really isn't the best with social situations. He's rather socially stunted, and as such he comes across as very cold and aloof towards most. Maybe even downright rude, which may or may not be intentional. He's a very crass man, says what he means, and not much more. He's short and to the point, because he has no interest in doing any sort of small talk. He can speak rather formally at times, and he knows general etiquette when it comes to addressing those of higher standing, but for the most part he doesn't fall back on this much. Especially not with random people.

Along with his social skills being rather subpar, he's also very likely to get pissed off if things don't go his way. He has very little emotional restraint, and is actually quite sensitive despite his intimidating outward presence. He yells quite a lot when something upsets him, and knows little in the ways of holding back. Even saying somewhat cruel things to those he regards fondly if he's upset enough, even guilt tripping them if he feels it necessary.

When he found out that Rielle's mother was at the cause of their misery, he berated her for not telling him, saying he had a right to know because he bled for her, and Fray died for her! Despite the fact she had never asked for any of this, he imposed his protection on her, and while she's grateful for his aid... his guilt tripping wasn't really appropriate, or called for in the least, but little did he honestly regret it. Nor show much remorse for it.

This sort of impulsiveness with his emotions also leads to his own recklessness. With how he rushes into battle and danger, with reckless abandon, it's almost like he's suicidal in some ways. Perhaps he is, or perhaps his emotions run so high that he can't think of self preservation, and instead is too focused on taking down his enemy. Lashing out, attacking, and killing. His emotions pretty much rule him, whether they be his anger, or his sorrow, but he seems to overly rely on anger as his fall back. It's likely easier that way, and does well to keep up his tough dark knight image.

Rielle had even once called him out on this behavior, about how he seemed to be seeking new and exciting ways to kill himself. That he'd throw himself into deadly situations, just so she could heal him up, put him back together, merely for him to do it all over again. That he held little regard for what that sort of thing did to her. To which he went silent, because she was absolutely right, and he probably knew throwing a fit wouldn't dissuade her from her stance on the topic, nor prove otherwise regardless.

Despite his emotional sensitivity and tendencies to throw tantrums, he can be surprisingly calm when confronted about his bullshit, if given the time to blow off some steam, that is. During their quest to figure out better means to control the Dark Arts, the Warrior of Light, Rielle, and himself had visited the moogles of Moghome for their supposed knowledge over such. Soon upon arrival, Rielle claimed that she was tired of this charade they have been doing, that there had to be something else that Sidurgu was putting his life on the line for other than for her own safety, which of course he implored that it was for her sake. Rielle was not convinced.

The visit did, however, end in a scheme where the moogles pretended they took Rielle away forever. After quite the trouncing from Sidurgu and the Warrior of Light (however not without Sidurgu yelling and even actually crying for them to give Rielle back to him), the moogles then questioned him on why he even cared for Rielle. Why he wanted her back, to which he answered he swore an oath to her, that he was duty bound. The moogles then broke into song about how duty and honor were inferior to the true power behind the dark arts: love. Sidurgu, of course, wasn't buying it.

Once Rielle showed up to the embarrassing scene, she called him out on how what he was doing was for his own vengeance. Accusing him that it was for himself, his master, and Fray, not for her. With no proper way to deny it or rebuff it, and with Rielle's on the mark accusation hitting home, he calmly admitted to it. Even apologized to her. Offering that he would stand in for her against her mother, but after that, if she so wished to be rid of him, he would respect that.

Though he might be hot-headed, standoffish and often times selfish or cruel, under it all he does absolutely care. Perhaps, he cares too much, with how sensitive he is. He wants to help those in need, protect those who need it, and carry that burden himself. However, he can easily fall inline with pursuing his own vengeance, his own means of coping with what wrongs had befell him in the past. Using other people's plights to fuel his own thirst for revenge. To put it plainly, he has a lot of baggage, so much so, not even an airport has shit on this guy's baggage claim.

Despite that, he is trying. Trying to help those he can, in the only way he knows how. The only way he's been giving the chance to. While it does little to actually help his own suffering, it's a sacrifice he's willing to take to deliver what justice he can to those who deserve it. To give what "mercy" to those who shed none for others deserve.

    Victory Road Sample:

The first thing that is noticeable to Sidurgu is that it isn't cold anymore. Or, rather, not as cold as Ishgard is.

The second being how heavy his armor is. Third being that his horns are no longer there, but instead two fleshy slabs on either side of his head take their place. This, of course, throws off his balance, and while he attempts to make sense of the world around him, and what's happened; being 6'10 in a suit of armor made for someone with far more strength than the average human has—even someone not so average—made everything that much worse.

To put it simply: he is not having a good time. In fact, one could be as bold to say the time he is having is a bad one. And he's pissed.

So pissed, he listened to exactly nothing anyone had to say or explain, and as he struggles to stay on his feet without his horns or tail to assist him in his balance and spacial recognition, the armor only weighed him down further, he finds himself only more annoyed at this entire situation. Despite the struggle, and annoyance, he can only find himself fretting over Rielle. She is no where to be seen, and here he is, no longer an Au Ra (even if he kept the size and shape of one), disoriented and lost. He feels helpless and confused, which only fuels his anger.

In hindsight, it was probably a mistake to not listen to the hyurs that attempted to assist him, that tried to inform him as they could, that gave him the supplies he has, as well as a ball that has some sort of creature in it. Finding himself a good few yalms from the small town, he looks to the red and white ball in his bag, finding security under a tree—or so he mistakenly assumes. Just as he's about to release the mysterious creature from its confines, a brown beastkin of some sort drops down upon him! Both frightening it, and himself. The former scurrying some few feet away.

Instinctively he reaches for a greatsword that isn't there, and he curses his rotten luck. The sentret, clearly sick of this tall human's hesitance, lunges forward to tackle him—getting caught in the middle of the attack by a purple looking bat. Noibat, Sidurgu will learn it's called. Fortunately for him, it released itself just in time.

As it defends him from the wild pokèmon, it looks back for his command, making no attack without it. Onward Sidurgu stares, a bit baffled by the scene he's gotten himself into, but knowing that hesitance will only cost him and his new companion.

"Show it no mercy, beat that shitehead into submission!" He growls out the order, and while he'd prefer to be the one doing the pummeling, he supposes he can let this little monster carry his fury instead. He might yet get used to this.

Canon Resource Links: There isn’t much known of Keith before the series but we do know some facts: His mother left him when he was very young, and he still harbors some unspoken insecurities of this. He remembers his father fondly, but doesn’t speak of him in the present. Keith was a previous cadet of the Garrison, along with Shiro (and presumably Matt Holt). After Shiro and Matt went on the Kerberos mission, Keith was kicked out due to a “disciplinary issue”. Keith then stayed close by the area in a shack in the desert for a year alone. At some point close to the end of that year, he found carvings of a lion in the scenery and felt a kind of ‘pull’ to them and started investigating. He was able to make some sense of the markings leading to an event the night Shiro crash landed back by the Garrison. Keith didn’t know that’s what it would be, but he was prepared to take whatever it was, providing an explosive distraction and fought his way in. Ultimately, he took Shiro from the science staff about to run tests on him, and the other three Garrison cadets that were there back to his shack.

The rest of the canon information is here! I’ll likely canon update him eventually.

Personality: Keith is initially described as being hot-headed and high-tempered. However they are only surface observations. Keith is impulsive and acts mostly on instinct. He sees naturally point A to point B, but doesn’t stop much to think about how to get to point B differently. What isn’t the most direct route is superfluous. This often means he needs someone with him to point out other options he may not consider.

To add to this, Keith is stubborn. He’s confident in his abilities and skills, which at times unfortunately means he goes into situations overconfident, and along with his stubbornness means he’s sometimes unwilling to listen to others trying to talk him down from a situation. His stubbornness also makes him an easy target to antagonize, something Lance uses constantly throughout the series to provoke him into smaller arguments.

Keith values his friendships dearly; his interaction trying to talk Pidge out of leaving is a sure sign of that, being more demanding and desperate than understanding of Pidge’s needs. He reflects back to his pre-series friendship with Shiro being what got him where he is now and truly holding to advice Shiro had given him (“Patience yields focus” is a mantra taught to him by Shiro). Keith’s love for the people he’s close with often paints him as unsympathetic to those he doesn’t know. He simply doesn’t have that connection to them. He does care about the fate of the universe, but it’s less important for him. What’s most important is his family and their safety. Everyone else comes second to that.

He’s very private, even keeping to himself with people he knows well. He hasn’t been accustomed to discussing his feelings openly, so he tends to either stumble through it, or blurt it out in a fit of frustration. He also doesn’t seem to much care if others speak badly of him; in canon, when others talk down about him, he lets it go, or continues the conversation topic rather than acknowledge it. Whether that’s because he doesn’t see the point of it or that he possibly agrees, we don’t know because Keith keeps it to himself. We do know he places a lot of his self-worth on Shiro’s thoughts of him, being the only one Keith really confides his insecurities to in the more recent seasons. A lot of this is a holdover from his mother leaving. If someone isn’t proven to stick with him for long, he tends to put up a front, opting to push them away rather than risk being rejected.

All this isn’t to say he’s completely serious and nothing else. Keith does have a sense of humor, albeit dry and blink-and-you-miss-it. Hunk gets him to fully laugh out loud with silly things, and he does like making fun of Lance when the moments present themselves. Keith simply doesn’t set out to make every situation a joke or lighthearted. He tends to have fun when he’s comfortable in a setting with people he knows and likes. Hell, he’ll make jokes at his own expense if it means helping calm a panicked friend down and they have the moment.

Keith is someone who sees things that need to be done and sees simple solutions. He’s confident and skilled at physical endeavors, but less so on more book-learned things. He doesn’t always get social cues or nuances - he needs things spelled out simply.

At the time he’s pulled from canon, he’s been alone for a year and, by his own words, “a little lost” emotionally.

    Strengths / Weaknesses
+ Instinct - Keith is a natural born fighter, both in hand to hand and with short-range weapons (swords, blades). Keith’s piloting is also seen as naturally skilled, in speed and agility.
+ Strength - it doesn’t look it because he’s small, but Keith is surprisingly strong, shown later in the series to lift a fully grown alien team member in a fireman carry
+ Straightforward - You never have to worry about where you stand with Keith, or what his plan of action is when he has one. He’s very clear and doesn’t try to hide his intentions.
+ Caring - Keith cares very deeply for his friends, often going to great lengths to help or keep them safe.
+/- Simple - He often finds simple solutions to problems, or sees situations as black and white while others get stuck in the gray area. However, this also gives a slight issue of misunderstanding some nuances to situations and conversations.
    - Stubborn - Keith’s stubbornness often gets him into fights over his head. This may be physical fights he has no chance of winning or butting heads over matters with teammates.
    - Impulsive - Along with his straightforward nature, Keith is impulsive, not often thinking of a bigger picture. He comes across as short-sighted in this regard.
    - Reserved - His more reserved nature makes him come across aloof or thinking he’s better than others.
    - Easily frustrated - His frustration manifests easily, particularly when he’s already stressed or worried about something, giving the impression he’s a hot head.

    Character
    Name: Sasha Braus
    Series: Attack on Titan
    Timeline: Chapter 36, "I'm Home"
Canon Resource Links: Her wiki link. By the way, I will be using the Funimation spelling of her last name for personal preferences. I hope that isn't a problem.

    Personality:

Sasha is a friendly girl, but for what it's worth, she may not be one of the brightest crayons in the box. She is the resident space cadet who usually misses the point that is obvious to everyone else. Whether this is because she is slow on the uptake or because she was raised away in isolation and lacks normal social skills, no one knows, but it's Sasha and that's how you get her. She's rather easy to take advantage of as proven by Ymir carrying her to bed after she was ordered to run until she died and Ymir playing Sasha's gratefulness into getting Sasha to do all Ymir's chores for her. She doesn't argue or fight about it; she just apologizes and does whatever Ymir tells her to do because of the small favor Ymir did (reluctantly and only so Sasha will owe her for it in the future.)

Sasha also makes for an easy scapegoat. When Jean and Eren begin arguing in the mess hall, Shadis comes in demanding what all the ruckus is about. Mikasa, in order to save Eren's hide, tells him that it was the sound of Sasha ripping a giant fart. Shadis doesn't even question the absurdity of it. He reprimands Sasha for doing it again, as if this is a common theme with her (and let's be real, it probably is), and tells her to learn some modesty. For someone as stoic like Mikasa to push Sasha into the limelight to save somebody else's neck, it goes to show that Sasha practically has a "kick me" sign on her back.

Still, while treated mostly as a comedy relief, Sasha is her own person who comes with her own very serious issues. She has a brave streak that shows the most when at the tender age of twelve, she leaves home to join the military, which in all truth, considering the high rate of death via Titan lunch, is a fool's errand. The event that triggers this is an argument with her father about their current lives and how surviving the way their clan has for what might be centuries is no longer a workable option. Sasha is bitter because while her father talks about raising horses for the government in exchange for money instead of hunting for food like they have been for so long, this means they will be working with people who consider Dauper the dregs of society and nothing more than just morons among the trees. While there is truth in this, the major cause of her bitterness is that Sasha is scared of outsiders and her father calls her out on this fear, telling her she cannot live a life without ever asking another human for help regardless of where they are from. Calling her a coward spurs her into running away from home to prove that she isn't a coward, not to mention that her father tells her not to return home until she's become a decent person. One could say her father just sent his only child off to her death to each her a life lesson, but Sasha sees it as an opportunity to prove a point. She may be a Dauper resident, but she isn't stupid and she is not a coward.

In addition, Dauper is rather far away from other towns and they have their own dialect and way of speaking. Sasha is ashamed of the way she naturally sounds compared to everybody else (think backwoods hick surrounded by them sophisticated there city folks), so when she joins the military, she begins speaking extremely formally, hoping this will change the way that people outside her hometown look down on her kind of people. That's to be expected when she's conversing with her superiors, but she does this even to her fellow peers and it's enough to irritate Ymir who calls Sasha out on it. When Ymir goes on to ream her about the real reasons why she joined the military, she's embarrassed about not knowing much of anything outside of what she was raised around, and even though another cadet, Krista, tells Sasha that it's okay to speak as she feels when she feels, Sasha acquiesces to Ymir's demands and promises to speak more casually to people, even though it'll be a hard habit to break. In time, she gets there. After all, she ends up spending years around these people. There's only so much formality they'll take.

While she may have her head in the clouds half the time, Sasha is well-versed in knowing when to use her former life to her advantage in the battlefield. She may not have the brains or the brawn, but she has instinct and boy, does she know how to follow her gut. She is one who keeps Mikasa from running head first into the hot mess of the Female Titan setting them up because she gets the feeling that when a creature screams the way the Female Titan does it means it's cornered and has nothing left to lose. This saves Mikasa's hide as soon enough a mass of Titans pour into the area in response to the call. She also thinks pretty quickly on her feet to save a fellow recruit from falling off the wall and when the situation boils down to it, she finds some semblance of courage inside herself even while she's pissing her pants in fear, as seen when she takes down a Titan on her own with nothing but a bow and an arrow. She could have given up like the rest of the cadets did when the headquarters were taken over by Titans and they were left with little to no fuel in the middle of the field, but she was the first one cheering them on, encouraging them to keep on fighting and not to be wimps and cowards at a time like this. She continues doing this, with even more fervor, once Mikasa joins in with her own encouragement speech and feeds off off Mikasa's harsh words with some of her own.

And then there's her eating. Most times, this is played off as a joke, haha look it's Sasha the big eater stealing food again. But behind her eccentric and greedy behavior is a very valid reason: she's been without food for so long and for so often she's developed a raging case of food insecurity. Any opportunity to grab food and hoard it is a good one, even if it's her own food, because who knows when she'll get to eat again, especially when food is already limited even for the soldiers, with most of the meat going to the big wigs and the upper classes in a place where something as simple as black tea is considered a luxury item. Her obsession with food is so bad that during an arrangement to trade two of her comrades with one of the deals being in reference to having access to all of the good food first, Sasha forgets that they're not only talking about humans here, but her teammates, and zeros in on the chance to be near delicious things, getting far too excited to be sane. It's really that sad.

As the story goes on, Sasha isn't featured as much as the rest of the crew, usually relegated to the sidelines with her best bud Connie, up to the point where she gets gravely injured and sits out for a while recovering. She, however, is shown to seemingly have gotten over most of her hesitation to fight for her and everybody else's life and to straight up kill a human being, becoming on occasion, what seems to be the squad sniper with her bow. Oh, don't be mistaken, she is still very much the class clown, still the comedy relief, especially when left to her own devices with Connie, still fearful and hesitant about things such as having to face the reality that some of her friends may not be her true friends at all, but she also is now battle hardened, a little more matured, and gets serious when she needs to. After all, she didn't make the top ten of the graduating class for nothing. There's something in Sasha that does well. It just needs the right conditions to come out and play.

They told her not to go into the tall grass, but she's been going into the tall grass all her life. You can't stop a hunter from going into the grass! That's where all the good prey is!

Or the good Pokemon, for that matter. If she's going to make it in this world, she's going to need something that's useful, like a horse or even a bear. Sure, she can't ride a bear, but who'd bother a girl traveling with a giant bear? No one, that's who.

After picking a nice spot to watch her prey from clump of thick bushes for an hour or two, Sasha's finally sneaking up on a nice decent level Pidgey, wanting one she can at least fly on later, if not get a bunch of eggs from. Suddenly, though, the flock flutters and scatters off because there's a sound that scares them off. Sasha hears it too and she knows good and well what it it is, even if it's a long minute before the perpetrator shows it's cold wet nose up on the scene. All of this doesn't stop Sasha from recognizing a lost cause, though.

"Oh my gods!" Sasha groans, faltering forward onto her knees in defeat, head hanging low. This is the third time that this has happened today. The third time. She's been nice for too long. All day she's been trying to shake this wild Deerling off her tail, even climbing up high hills, crossing ponds on foot, and still it just would not leave her. Something has got to give. A trainer cannot be a trainer if they can't ever catch a Pokemon. "Could you please stop following me?"

The Deerling makes a little noise, but it's a mystery if it's a sound of disappointment or a complete no Pokemon-style. Whatever it is, the Pokemon creeps closer to Sasha and noses at her arm. Come on, Human. Accept it! Train it! Be the very best like no one ever was!

"I said please stop following me. I don't know what you are..." A deer with a funny hat? A deer with a funny hat that can say its name? "...Or what you want, but please stop following me. I don't have any food to give you. I ate it all."

Little Deerling does nothing of the sort except stomp its foot in the dirt. Well, this must be an adamant nature one. Just her luck. She's going to call it Jean.

"Okay, fine, but when I turn you into dinner, don't say I didn't warn you."

With Sasha, that's an actual threat. Someone, anybody, please come save this poor Deerling from being turned into a spicy stew.

Canon Resource Links: The only wiki article there really is + since the wiki is so bare bones additional character history

    Personality:
Shadowmaru is, for the most part, friendly on the outside, to the point of being charming. He talks a good talk, puts on all manner of self-confidence and assurance. He puts forth the image of a mysterious, shadowy ninja. All easy smiles and smooth voiced words. He seems to enjoy putting people off their guard with a phrase or a quick few words.

He appears to have a good sense of humor, and is more than willing to cooperate with the others. He'll tease them, sass them, things like that, but all in good fun. He doesn't actually bear anyone any ill-will, he just has it in his nature to poke humor here and there at his comrades and friends. He definitely has a flair for the dramatic, choosing to reveal key facts in the most over-the-top description possible, or appear out of nowhere, posed for dramatic effect. Sometimes even going so far as to show off his "ninja skills" by throwing CDs like shuriken. For all his charming, self-assured exterior is mostly a mask, his confidence remains genuine, up until his confrontation with the alien agent.

He keeps mostly to himself, withholding discussing anything about himself in-depth. Questions are deflected, using that humor or wit, and he even prefers to go on missions by himself. As far as to spend the majority of his time working alone, only teaming up with Duke once or twice.

Since he's really only been alive for a year and a half, in canon, his death notwithstanding, there is a lot of naivete and general childishness in him. He's prone to little hissy fits over being called a "dog", rather than a "wolf", as he perceives himself to be, for instance. His reactions are often dramatic and overblown, as well.

In all honesty, given the brief glimpses we see of his private thoughts, and his actions in his introduction episode, it's clear he blames himself for Kagerou's death. He even says as much after it happens, and never fully recovers from the loss of his friend. It's likely this is the reason he keeps his personal thoughts to himself, and just plain keeps to himself, overall. He never forgot Kagerou, even in what he thought was the end of his life, and his prototype remained the most important thing to him. They were, very possibly, unhealthily dependent on each other, thus making it exceptionally difficult for Shadowmaru to move on, and make any other deep connections with the other robots, or even human beings.

Okay so this is all about me and sometimes about Dipper and Grunkle Stan. Oh and Wendy and Soos and all my other friends. But it's super important and if I had enough time I would have put together visuals but there was only so many crafting supplies available.

    Personality:
Mabel is pretty much what you'd expect a twelve year old girl to be like. She likes sweaters, covering her face with sequins, slapping stickers on people, facing off against her rivals in mini golf battles and playing DJ with her pet pig. Totally normal twelve year old girl stuff.

    Yeah.

Alright so maybe Mabel is just a little bit on the quirky side. Random is definitely a word that suits her but it's a good sort of random! She's a bubbling, energetic sort of random that keeps life interesting and always tries to find the fun side of everything. <-Duh! Life is boring if you aren't having fun! There's no reason to sit inside when there's a whole world you could be exploring!! Unless there's a really good movie marathon on then that's totally understandable or if you're in the middle of a heated card game. That's an acceptable reason to not go out. But being with friends is the best! You get to have fun and share secrets and talk about boys and all the stupid things your brother did when he thought no one was around to see! It's absolutely, 100% the best thing in the entire world and I highly recommend it. Even in the face of danger Mabel is always ready with a joke and a smile though more often than not it's just a good way for her to hide the fact that she's more than a little terrified.

At her core, Mabel is a very loving and caring person. Her brother is one of the most important people in the world to her, especially, and she goes out of her way to try and keep him in her universe as much as possible. Each and every person Mabel meets seems to have a lasting effect on her in some way and she very rarely disregards another person/writes them off completely. (Even in the case of someone like Pacifica she has attempted to bridge the gap on multiple occasions only to be reminded more often than not that the other girl is still just a spoiled uppity bottled blonde one dimensional wannabe pro golfer who has no idea what's she's talking about when she says that my sweaters are not stylish!!!!! But I guess she..really isn't all that bad. I think we're making progress. Some progress.) While, like any child, Mabel does have her moments of selfishness she will more often than not give up things she wants in order to make the people she cares about happy because at the end of the day that's more important to her than anything else. Unless it's Waddles.

Like any young teen Mabel has her moments of throwing fits and getting angry over seemingly petty things. She gets upset with her brother for not wanting to do things her way, she gets upset when someone does something to undermine her or seemingly betray her--all things that are typical of a young teen that's still trying to get a handle on their emotions. But Mabel is also very good about learning from these moments of upset and anger and moving forward from them. She's not afraid to admit her mistakes and apologize for what she might have done wrong and it's very rare for her to hold a grudge, especially when it comes to her brother. Grudges are like dark clouds that hang over your head and sometimes they sink down and start to suffocate you until you can't breath and all you can do is stumble around like a zombie until you find the person you have a grudge against and try to tear their brains out!!!

Despite how full of sunshine and rainbows Mabel is, she does have her fair share of insecurities. She knows she isn't as smart as her brother and worries that it's going to separate them someday. (A feeling made worse when she hears Stan and Ford's story.) There are even moments when she feels jealous of how smart Dipper is and she wishes she could be half the genius that he is. There's also the problem with people not taking her seriously a lot of the time because of the things she likes and how she acts and she tries her best not to let it get her down but it can be hard sometimes. <-I don't want anyone to feel bad for me though. Everyone has their own things to worry about they don't need to worry about me to and being jealous of Dipper is stupid. It's totally stupid. We're twins and that's never going to change. We'll never be like Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford! We'll never be like them..

Mabel's main goal in life is to try and be the best person she possibly can be and to make those around her as happy as possible. So no matter what, she will always try and make that her top priority. Sometimes her plans don't always work out but when push comes to shove, nothing will stop Miss Mabel Pines from being the most pure of heart!!!

Hi everyone! Mabel here! I've got a really important question and I need answers. Fast.

[Grinning widely, Mabel is seated on the grass outside a Pokemon Center with a scraggly little Meowth in her lap, said feline wearing a 100% genuine Mabel Pines sweater of his own in bright green with little toy mice carefully knitted onto it. Beside them floats Little Dipper the Minior who..also has a sweater?

    How?

No. It's probably better not to question it. The happy little thing bobs about, it's bright yellow sweater sporting a pine tree on it.]

How many people want sweaters for their Pokemon? Because I was looking through the catalog and there's so many things I need to buy for Little Dipper and the others so I need money and I need it fast! So put your orders in here, folks!

[Someone's been around Stan for way too long.

She holds up her Meowth who squirms before letting out a happy squeak and holds his paws up to show off his sweater.]

I'll even customize them with whatever picture you want at no extra charge! And if you don't know what to pick, I can pick for you!

[Mabel peeks around her Meowth and beams.]

    So who wants one?

    Dipper

    Personality:

Out of the Pine's twins, Dipper is the more serious. He also wants to be taken seriously by people and hates it when people brush him off. Often going out of his way to do something if people tell him that he's too young to do it. Teenagers laugh at him because they think he's too little to break a door down? He'll climb up to the roof and break through the ventilation shaft to open the door. Cops laugh because they don't think he can solve a mystery? Become even more determined to prove them wrong and solve the case. He also hates it when people make fun of him for being short or having a squeaky puberty voice.

Dipper also just loves solving mysteries, the biggest one he was working on all summer was the mystery behind the town, the journals about the town and their mysterious author. He is very determined and even though he's generally the one to worry he'll lead them into danger if it means solving a mystery. Like the underground bunker that the author of the journal wrote about. He even lies to his Grunkle about promising to stay away from the more dangerous aspects of the town. Despite this, Dipper also is prone to panic when he's not prepared to deal with things. Like when Mabel gets them into trouble or when he has to deal with social situations. He would always rather have a plan rather then wing it, but can manage some quick thinking if things go awry (which they usually do).

When they were all convinced that they were going to loose their memories, Mabel, Dipper, Wendy and Soos all blurt out their deepest secrets. Dipper's is that sometimes he uses big words he doesn't know the meaning of because he's the smart guy and if he isn't, he doesn't know who he is. It's something he clings to as an identity. He pushes himself to solve mysteries and works himself too hard when he shouldn't. This comes back to bite him when he stays up for many nights in a row and makes a poorly worded deal with the demon Bill Cipher because he's desperate to find a way to open a laptop with possible information. This not only gets his body stolen from him but the laptop is then destroyed by the demon and he almost loses the journal, as well as almost being trapped forever without a body.

Dipper would very much like to be seen as older then he actually is. As stated before he doesn't like people writing him off as just a child and for a long time he had a crush on the sixteen year old Wendy. So many times he would try to act older to try and impress her and her friends. This and his desire to impress Wendy leads him into many questionable acts such as using time travel to try and fix a situation where she gets together with another teen, using a photocopier that clones him to rearrange situations so he can talk to her and almost causing his, Soos, Mabel and her friends death's by a Summerween monster when he refuses to act like a kid in the spirit of the holiday.

Despite being teased a lot by his twin. Mabel is the person he's closest to. They share awkward sibling hugs, make jokes, play games and tease each other. Even when he gets his own room, he finds he'd rather share one with her and moves back into the attic. He would also do almost anything for her and usually is the one to give in when it comes between choosing her happiness over his own. He lets them stay in the timeline where she gets her pet pig but Wendy gets a boyfriend. He loses his job at the pool to help her mermaid boyfriend. He leaves her at a millimeter taller then him when he learns that the reason that she bragged about being the alpha twin/being taller then him was that she felt he was so much smarter then her because he won every game they played together and would brag about it.

He also fought a giant robot for her when she was kidnapped by Gideon and broke into the bubble prison created by Bill when she was captured during Weirdmageddon. She's his closest ally and while they they start to drift apart with the return of their unknown Grunkle Ford. Ford going so far as to make Dipper the offer to have him stay in Gravity Falls as his apprentice and hunt mysteries with him, leaving Mabel to go home alone. They make up after a trial Mabel holds in that bubble prison. Where Dipper realizes that he doesn't want to leave Mabel and tells her he's going to say no to Grunkle Ford about becoming his apprentice, because they're a team.

Dipper may be smart but he isn't as good at making friends as his sister is. All of his other real friends over the summer have been Soos and Wendy, people he met because they work at the shack and are older then him. Mabel managed to get friends her own age while Dipper tries to make friends with Wendy's friends when the chances show up. However it's only, Mabel, Soos and Wendy that he trusts with finding out the mysteries of the town with. He knows he's not the greatest at making friends either and he's secretly jealous of how easy social things are for Mabel. It's one of the reasons why he becomes so attached to his Grunkle Ford, the guy is a lot like him and doesn't tease him for being interested in weird things. Also like his Grunkle, Dipper is a bit paranoid at times and has trust issues. He also over thinks things A LOT, making huge lists when trying to figure out how to talk to Wendy, when actually just being himself and you know....talking to her is the right thing to do and is what works.

Despite being the "smart" twin and looking forward to growing up, Dipper is still a kid. He laughs and jokes about things. Is drawn into petty arguments and generally acts silly. He's a dork when it comes to reading mysteries late at night and gets really excited about the stuff he likes. He also really wants validation of his theories, be it from government agents or his Grunkles. He still enjoys games and snacks and water balloon fights, especially with his sister. He makes mistakes when he tries to solve his mysteries and is hurt a lot when he thinks his Grunkle Stan doesn't want him around. He may try to ignore the fact, but he is a 12 year old and he frequently acts like it.

[There is a video feed. The feed opens to a bunch of papers. Some of them look like graphs and ...spreadsheets? It eventually settles on a grinning preteen who is sorting through them. He's shown up on the gear before now. However he's gotten more used to the place so he's more excited.]

Okay, I know I'm still relatively new here but this place is amazing! I can't be the only thinking that, right? There are so many strange creatures here. And they just ...give you one when you show up! How amazing is that? I mean back home you'd have to hunt for like days to find something and then it'd probably try and eat you or turn out to be gnomes but here there're just....everywhere! And people want you to catch them!

    [Digging through some paper.]

I've started some rudimentary notes already but I really need to get a journal to store everything I've found. I know the gears have information but it's not the same as writing it down. Besides, it's easy to make charts and diagrams this way.

Oh right, the question I wanted to ask. I didn't see it in the gear but are there are, like locations of museums or any places that have information on pokemon I can look into?

    Character
    Name: Maka Albarn
    Series: Soul Eater (manga)
Timeline: Arachne's defeat and Medusa's (to the shock of no one) betrayal
Canon Resource Links: This gives a good summary of her role in the manga and notes the different arcs in the anime as well, though I'm taking her from the manga

Personality: Maka is described as "a serious person that works hard" early in the series; true to this word, Maka goes above and beyond to prove and improve herself. It's no surprise, having been born to the woman who forged God's personal weapon and fathered by said weapon, Maka expects a lot of herself as a person and Meister and can be harshly critical when she feels that she falls short. She doesn't like to make her mistakes apparent, or their effect on her, so she puts up a strong front and buries herself in work to improve for next time. Relying on another person did not come easy to her in the beginning, since she felt she had to emulate her mother who didn't even need her husband and ended up leaving him. To that end, Maka also found it…difficult to trust men due to her father's unfaithfulness and openness about this behavior (improper for Death's personal weapon in her opinion), yet he hypocritically forbade her from interacting with the opposite sex and forcefully inserted himself into her life (though she distanced herself from him and disowned him out of spite) to "protect" her from boys. She carried a lot of anger towards him as a result of this (a lot, she frequently rebuffs his attempts at bonding and excuses) and often ended up lashing out at others over seemingly minor things if they happened to come to her at a bad time or remind her of Spirit Albarn.

Maka at the time had goals she wanted to pursue instead and she continues to be a goal-driven person, she will obsessively pursue her ambitions until she achieves them. One of her past goals was get a scythe partner and forge them into a Death Scythe stronger than her loser father. Though she achieved this goal, her relationship with the Demon Weapon Soul Evans was very rocky at first and revealed different aspects to her in this new foil. She was serious and hardworking, he was lazy and arrogant, his obsession with "coolness" baffled and irritated her. To him, as he is a working partner, she takes the lead and scolds him for slacking. She scolds quite a few people for slacking or scoffs at them for being ridiculous, rather like she's already a teacher herself; the little miss perfect obedient student was her reputation.

This worked for a little bit…until Maka had to face the fact that she didn't have to take the lead all the time and it was all right to slow down and rely on others. Little Miss Albarn was still in the range of 12 to 13 at that time, her abilities were not fully developed and her obsession with working ended up throwing her in over her head to where she and Soul promptly lost all of the progress that they gained and had to start over again. Stubbornness, though she didn't realize it at first, stalled her from moving forward and it took very dire consequences for her to realize that she needed to open up and listen more to other people or even admit sometimes that she's wrong. Related to this, she had to come to terms with the fact as well that obeying adults and the rules wasn't always the right thing to do while going with her gut instinct about what's actually fair is. It surprises her friends at first when she defies orders from a teacher, but it comes as less of a shock in a much more desperate situation later in the timeline.

Something else that stalled her was her emotions; Maka, for all intents and purposes, puts forth the image of being grownup, but in actuality she is very sensitive to the feelings of those she cares for and can be swayed to making a poor decision if someone she loves is hanging in the balance. She risked dying out of fear of Soul being harmed, she charged ahead without him in a halfcocked bid to gain "strength" so he wouldn't be harmed again (especially not to protect her, whom she didn't feel was worth protecting). She trusted Medusa though in her heart of hearts she (and everyone around her) knew it was a risky idea that wouldn't end well out of her desperation to save her dear friend Crona ("I wanted to believe," she thinks on the verge of tears). "I want to be stronger, I want to be stronger for everyone" is still a frequent thought of hers, and it seems Maka never intended to be that way. It's not like her mother who was strong and independent, right? She never needed the support of friends or worried about other people, in Maka's point of view. But Maka does, she does so much, and this worry and determination fuels another very important aspect of her mantra: fear creating courage. For all her flaws like being stubborn, testy, a "gloomy bookworm" that pursues knowledge rather than social activities, Maka is and always has been a person that fights on the edge of "fear." She knows that any second she could die, but courage is not about having no fear whatsoever, it means knowing something is more important than being afraid, so she continues on. "Yeah, I'm scared, yeah, I'm weak, so what? I'm still gonna fight and I'm still gonna kick your ass," is her attitude. She'll fight until someone is dead, and it's not going to be her or someone important to her. Where there's courage, there's a means to power through and get the happy ending she wants.

Even if Maka doesn't automatically trust every person, she is still kind and polite to every person she meets (the politeness is most especially extended to adults at all times, though as a result she tends to distance herself from them rather than befriend since they're generally seen as authority figures in her experience) and is able to understand how they feel. She, despite her accomplishments, is also modest and keeps her feet firmly on the ground as she grows--actually too much praise or attention focused on her gets a little embarrassing (part of this might also be because of her father's insistence on throwing her into the spotlight and...carrying around a doll of her). As a result, though one wouldn't expect it from a so-called bookworm, she has quite a few friends and most if not all of the students of the Academy know her and regard her positively. Her smiles are rare, but infectious when they happen, she always has a word of encouragement or a hand to offer support when it is needed, and once her loyalty is earned one has it for life.

Though, again, she never intended for it to happen, Maka is a very kind and loving person with an odd sort of natural charisma that charms others, it actually takes a lot to earn Maka's hatred even if everyone (even people she likes) can very briefly earn her annoyance due to her quick temper. Those that earn her annoyance get, yes, a scoff and occasionally a smack on the head with an ever-present book she's carrying (sometimes worse depending on the level of offense, for example of it's a boy or man being perverted). Those that earn her hatred are guaranteed to be on her grudge list for life (and even beyond the end of their life in some cases). It's taken a long time for Maka to build up to who she is today, from before the series, during the series and beyond--and she still has very much to learn as a teenager steadily creeping towards (actual) adulthood. But Maka is and always has been adaptable to different situations--thinking quickly on her feet in battle or absorbing information to adapt to her own strengths for use later on (not without help of her living, talking Weapon partner, of course). She even has used adaptability in order to take care of others and comfort them, and she very much wants to help people at her core so they don't have to feel afraid or weak. Sure, life isn't always happy, and it'd be unrealistic to say "everything is always all right, never be unhappy!" but the important part that Maka wishes to show everyone is that courage can still be found and you can still bounce back and be strong from a bad situation. She will show the world this, and she will fight the Kishin--fight anyone as many times as she has to over and over again to protect everyone in the future, she'd put her life on that.

The long and short of it
+Brave soldier that will fight for justice
    +Hardworking student that motivates herself
+"Courage is the key. Everyone has courage!" is her life mantra
+Intelligent girl that loves to read and do word puzzles
+Loyal friend that supports everyone she cares for
+Strong willed teenager that doesn't fold under mental duress

-/+Her bond with Crona opened her up more (that is, she became less gloomy as default), but on the other hand it became a prime way to manipulate and destroy her emotionally

-Perfectionist with a tendency to be hard on herself for perceived failure
-"I must be useful" is another mantra she has. Yikes.
-Stubborn child that has no sense of caution in battle, she will get hurt and she will keep going
-Loves books a little too much and tends to isolate herself to read without taking a break
-Quick tempered, prone to outbursts and insults when pushed too much
    -Physically violent when irritated
-Tendency towards holding grudges for a long time
-Attracts trouble due to her own tendencies towards being short-sighted and/or polite (or wanting desperately to believe in Medusa's case)
-Gloomy. No, really, her baseline personality is not overly cheerful unlike most shonen protagonists
-She's a fourteen year old girl still growing and trying to find her place/effect in the world so things might flip around the next day without warning

RP Sample: Her TDM thread in which she has a friendly conversation about Pokemon with Jinx and possibly gives Harry Mason another set of grey hairs.

Victory Road Sample: Courage, a life motto Maka believed in more ardently than most, seemed like a fitting title to give to her new companion on the equally new (and very strange) journey. A Rufflet, described as indiscriminately standing up to all opponents to toughen themselves from an early age, was surely appropriate for the name. At least that was what Maka read about Rufflet, her Rufflet in particular acted very cautious with battling and, in general, towards everything around him.

"Come on, Courage, you can do it!" the girl called to the shivering Pokemon standing across from a Rattata. "Use Fury Attack!"

It wasn't quite a Fury Attack he unleashed, more of an odd mix of flailing and kicking out his claws at the opponent. The Rattata reared back, trying to dodge the assault but not managing to avoid scratches along the way.

"Okay, you're doing great!" Maka encouraged, punching her fist to the air. "Show it who's boss, finish it off with Peck!" Sure, it wasn't the most graceful attacking and Courage still appeared utterly terrified, but any progress is progress and the Meister would encourage all of it.

"Ack! I lost again! Doggone it!" the opposing Trainer (Joey, she thought his name was) groaned with slumped shoulders.

Courage skittered back to Maka, hiding behind her legs and peeking out to see if the Rattata would attack again (despite it being clearly unconscious). She noted that Joey did look quite put out by the loss. "Well, that happens to all of us sometimes," she said, holding out her hand to him. "You did great, though! You'll just have to keep training to do better next time, right?"

Unfortunately Maka found in the world she was trapped in, sometimes people behaved as if they were running on a program—like NPCs in the video games she would play back at home. Joey exemplified this by ignoring all of what she said, ignoring her offer of a handshake at that, and coming out with: "Do I have to have more POKÉMON in order to battle better? No! I'm sticking with this one no matter what!"
The girl blinked, hand dropping back to her side. "Err...I'm glad that you are, I'm sticking with Courage t—"

"Listen, can I get your phone number?" Joey's invisible script continued.

"Wha--?" Maka stammered, stepping back. "Why would you ask me for that?! H-hey!"

Don't hit him, Maka, DO NOT hit him, he's a civilian, her thoughts cut in as she stepped back further away from Joey. R-right, he's a civilian and can't fight back like that, b-but what kind of weirdo just asks a stranger for their number!? For once she related very heavily to her Rufflet's timid nature, he was already fleeing and she decided it was in her best interest to follow after him. "Sorry! We gotta hit the road, good battl—I mean goodbye!"

I really, really hope my other battles aren't like that! she thought, picking up the pace to keep up with her partner.

Series:The Immortals (book series by Tamora Pierce)
Timeline:Near the end of the second book, when she breaks the two opals holding the valley shielding spell together, and passes out from the shockwave. Daine is 14 years old.
    Canon Resource Links:
    Tamora Pierce Wikia page
    The Immortals wiki page

    Personality:
Daine does not give her loyalty and trust away lightly after being hunted by her village like an animal. Therefore, when she finally does trust someone, she's fiercely loyal to them. She has strong loyalty towards Onua and Numair, who both gave her a chance and didn't judge her when she finally had the courage to tell them about her past. Because of this, she never betrays their trust and has complete faith that they will always have her back, particularly her teacher Numair.

Daine is also extremely independent having both lived on a farm and also living off the land for many months following the death of her mother and grandfather. She is a skilled hunter and tracker, and an amazing marksman with both bow and slingshot at long range. She is used to camping out, building fires, hunting and cooking meat and foraging for edible plants. Her mother was a healer and taught her to make healing poultices and medicinal brews. Daine isn't afraid of being on her own, feeling that she's never really alone with animals around, and prefers to be outdoors than inside.

Daine is not afraid to tell it like it is, and often doesn't think before she speaks. She's a very practical thinker, and can get frustrated when left out of the loop. If she's comfortable with the person, or if she is addressing people she dislikes, she'll often talk back and give cheek.

She's curious and not afraid to satisfy her curiosity even if that means putting herself into dangerous situations. She'll sometimes disobey orders if she thinks the outcome will outweigh the consequences.

Daine is afraid of her wild magic and the possibility of falling back into the 'madness', when she ran wild with the wolf pack, her magic blurring the line between human and animal. Even though Numair created a magical block to prevent this from happening, in the back of her mind she still fears it could happen again. However Daine shows almost no fear in the face of immortals, and has no qualms or hesitation in giving lip to the more dangerous ones or killing them outright.

She's fascinated by all animals, particularly if she comes across one she's never seen before. Until she travelled to Pirates Swoop, she had never seen the ocean before, and immediately wanted to wade in and communicate with the animals. When she becomes enamoured with an animal she often forgets her surroundings, which can result in accidentally being hurt or almost killing herself. She loves animal anatomy books, which she studies closely to help her heal animals using her wild magic. Daine prefers animals to people - she finds them much easier to understand. She doesn't like dealing with human politics and wars, and often wishes people were more like animals. She hates putting animals in danger or asking them to fight on her behalf, fearing they'll be badly injured or die.

Finally, she's a fast learner. When teaching her to pull her magic in and control it, Numair tells her that she does it faster than anyone he's ever met. She can also rapidly adapt to different situations thrown at her with relative ease.

Special abilities: Daine has the ability to talk to and understand animals.

Ability Restrictions for Victory Road: She has to talk to pokemon using her voice, not her mind (so basically reverting back to how she was at the start of the novels). Also, unless a pokemon has known her a while (or is psychic), what she’l l get from them is images which she has to decipher (again, reverting back to her abilities at the start of the series). The longer she’s known a pokemon, the more the pokemon will actually start to talk mentally back using language instead of images. [Please let me know if there are any issues with this – I found the section that said if a character can understand animals, they can keep this ability, which is why I’m including it here.]

Victory Road Sample: Daine had no idea what in Goddess' name had happened after she smashed that second opal. She huffed. It would be nice of Numair to warn her if stuff like that was going to happen. How was she to know it would blow up like that? The Gift was his forte after all, not hers.

The worst part was Daine felt deaf and blind. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t tap into her wild magic, nor see the copper threads around her that she usually saw. She couldn’t hear the animals close by, and that worried her. Had destroying the dome temporarily disrupted her magic?

She gnawed on a nail as she looked around at her surroundings. Maybe smashing the opals had triggered another spell, transporting her to wherever this was?

She sighed, dropping the pack she'd been handed before being thrown out the door of a stranger’s house and rifling through it. It was also concerning that Kit wasn't here with her, even though she knew the baby dragon could take care of herself.

She pulled out a red ball, frowning as she turned it over in her hand. What on earth was this? A button clicked, and Daine scrambled back in fright as a bright light radiated out from the opened ball, solidifying into pony with a flaming tail and mane.

“Oh Goddess…you’re beautiful!” she exclaimed, rising to her feet and gently caressing the pony’s neck, blowing into its nose so it could identify her scent. “What are you?”

A series of images came to her from the pony. “A Ponyta? I’ve never heard of one of those before, let alone a pony with flames for a tail and mane. Can I touch it, will it burn me?”

The Ponyta shook its head, leaning towards her. She tentatively stroked the edge of the flame with a finger, startled that it felt warm and alive, but didn’t burn. The Ponyta sent her another image. “Oh, only when you want it to or you feel threatened. That’s a clever trick.”

The Ponyta snorted, and then bent down to sniff the pokeball before stomping on it in disgust. The ball broke under the Ponyta’s hooves. Daine made a face. “I assume whatever that was, you didn’t like being in it. I don’t blame you. I hate cages too.” She shuddered.

    Name: Mami Tomoe
    Series:Puella Magi Madoka Magica
    Timeline: End of episode 3
    Canon Resource Links: Mami's wiki

    Personality:
Mami is the well liked calm and cool (and a little teasing) upperclassman, with a preferance towards feminine things like flowers, baking, and tea parties...At least that how she seems on the outside. Truthfully, she doesn’t doesn’t have any close friends, and she’s pretty soft as claimed by Homura in the Rebellion anime.

Because of being a magical girl, she feels she can’t do much more than make small talk with any of her classmates. With no one to talk to or ask for help, she’s learned to become self reliant. Other magical girls either look up to her as a veteran or hero, or see her as a rival, causing her to take on an unshakable heroine role for herself. She’ll always do her best to help others, even at the cost of her own well being shown by her fighting familiars and witches instead of just the witches that drop grief seeds. She’s especially protective of anybody who she tries to befriend, or she has taken under her wing, and is terrified of losing them. Often this protective nature come through with seemingly strict lectures. Ultimately, she just wants a friend who will stand beside her.

She has a soft heart, and gets upset easily. She tries not to show it, but she cries often when no one else can see her, she’s claimed as much to Madoka. Even though she does get upset and cry, she does her best to find the best solution quickly and as calmly as possible, the director stating that Mami killed Kyoko and bound Homura in calm judgement. Whether she’s right or not in those cases is a different story. She does falter in her judgement when the possibility of making a friend is there.

She’s a very curious and studious girl, often keeping detailed notebooks of important information. She doesn’t like asking questions, feeling more comfortable looking up the information, writing it down, and coming up with conclusions based on what she’s learned. This is shown in both A Farewell Story and A Different Story when she shares her notebook on being a magical girl and they talk about her realizing that witches appear in places with a lot of negative emotion. That being said, if she feels there’s no other way to get the information, she will ask someone.

She still didn’t understand what was going on, but there really was no going back for her. Her mask almost broke again. She took a deep breath and said to herself]

So I just have to move forward with what I have now.

[Mami found somewhere to sit and go through her bag, and read the trainer handbook. She then took the ball she somehow already had but didn’t notice, and opened it, revealing her Budew. She smiled gently at the little thing and picked her up.]

Hello there, I’m Mami. I guess we’ll be together from now on?

[At the baby pokemon’s cheer her smile widened.]

Let’s think of a name for you while we walk, shall we?

[Well, Mami would walk while carrying the pokemon. She paused by the lab, debating trying to get information from there. It would be more helpful to know more than what a handbook can tell her before she left. She was just planning on following the trail and her map, but who knows what could happen here? In the end she shook her head, and walked onto the route. Surely, she can figure this new world out easy enough.]

You look like a little flower bud, maybe Fiore then? [She laughed lightly as the small pokemon waved her arms]Well then, Fiore, the handbook said there may be other pokemon out there, so I hope you’re ready.

    Name: Madoka Kaname
Series: Puella Magi Madoka ☆ Magica
Timeline: End of the TV Show
Canon Resource Links: Madoka's Page | Series Page

    Personality:

At first impressions, Madoka Kaname comes off as a very normal girl. She's cheerful, tries hard, doesn't excel particularly at anything, and has her cozy social circle. There is nothing particularly special about this shy but kind middle schooler at first glance... and honestly? That's an opinion that Madoka shares. She doesn't see herself as having any special talents. To Madoka, the charm of being a magical girl was going to be giving her life meaning. Yet Madoka Kaname is an extraordinary girl in many ways, even more so after inevitably contracting and becoming a magical girl.

One thing about Madoka that really stands out is her decision making process. Madoka is a shy person and not very assertive on her own. She typically doesn't feel like she can make decisions on her own. During the entire anime, Madoka is constantly asking others for advice. She asks Sayaka, Mami, Homura, her mother, her father, Kyoko... Madoka is slow to make choices, because she puts a lot of weight in them. She may be a cutie, but she's calculating in the sense that she really takes the time to chew her choices.
The only Madoka doesn't stew in her choices is when there is an immediate threat: She stops a group suicide because she has no choice, and she shoots Mami because she felt she had no choice. This kind of decision making does leave Madoka drowning in her insecurities after the fact. In both of these cases, Madoka fell apart after taking impulsive action.

Magical girl Madoka makes decisions slightly faster, but only slightly. Being a magical girl gives Madoka the well-needed confidence boost to assert herself more. As this is an app for a magical girl Madoka, it's important to note that her magic and role as a 'protector' gave value to Madoka's life. When she isn't working hard, Madoka may backtrack slightly on the confidence she doesn't feel she deserves.

Another exceptional trait about Madoka is her kindness. Madoka's core goal is always to help people and be worth the space she takes. Kindness is what causes her to wish a cat back to life, what almost drives her to wish for cake, and what ultimately informs her wish to become "Ultimate Madoka." She is someone who is happiest when those around her are happy.
Madoka feels happiness can be achieved by togetherness. And admittedly, some of Madoka's ideas of happiness are naive and childish. Her view on the world is honestly informed by the very genre she's from: Madoka likes magical girl stories where friends come together and work as a team. She never works solo and always reaches out to others. Sometimes, even when a normal person would call it quits. Madoka sees Sayaka and Kyoko in a life or death struggle, but she never hates Kyoko. She sees Homura and Mami being cold to each other, but she never stops trying to reach out to Homura. She's stubborn about her pure hearted ideals. In most all social conflicts, Madoka is playing mediator and trying to dissolve the issue peacefully.

This stubborn purity does get Madoka hurt. And Madoka has some impressive capacity to hurt. Even when her series gets very dark and the audience has given up, Madoka is searching for a happy ending. She might cry a lot and she might seem to break down, but Madoka always picks herself back up. She doesn't recognize it about herself in her daily life, but Madoka is a very brave girl. And that bravery is driven by a kind heart that believes and hopes.

It's that brave girl that I am applying for. At this point in Madoka's story, she has a few additional weights. For one, she has contracted with Kyuubey and become "Ultimate Madoka." She is a being almost on par with a goddess. This has given Madoka a lot of calm and confidence. Despite everything Kyuubey did to her friends, Madoka has the matured understanding that Incubators were just acting by their sense of justice. And it's important to note that Madoka doesn't blame them entirely. In fact, it's because she has come to understand how they think that Madoka is so calm and confident now: She knows her wish will be granted fully, without any delay, to the fullest capacity of her soul and the Incubator's ability to awaken it.

This Madoka carries an additional weight of having lost her human existence. She has no regrets with her wish and knows she will see everyone she loves eventually, but that doesn't mean she is happy to have lost her humanity. She misses her friends and family, for example, and it is implied that she keeps watch over them (Ex.: Tatsuya drawing Madoka like she's his imaginary friend.) However, Madoka is now comfortable with herself and less critical of her lack of a role. She's likely to be very content and happy in VR and enjoy her chance to be mortal for a while. She has no doubt her wish has been and is being fulfilled, even if a part of her is away from home.

Madoka was a city girl. Her hometown of Mitakihara was a modern delight, but left very little room for nature trails or even very big parks. So the view from atop a hill on the route nearly took her breath away. Though a bit breathless from the hike and ready for a snack, Madoka stood in a moment's awed silence.

"Look at it... It goes on forever, Audino!" She gasped, "So many trees... And they're so tall! Are we really going to have to go through that?"
Next to her, Madoka's new partner made a confirming noise. They did have to go through that forest in order to progress along the route. The confirmation rattled Madoka's awe with an echo of fear.
"Maybe we should go back to town and buy more supplies. I don't think I brought enough food for a bunch of days." She worried quietly, getting cold feet, "And what if we get lost? How do I know if this compass is working?"
Frowning, she added in an embarrassed tone, "And how do I even use a map? It doesn't have gps."

Audino gazed up at her silly trainer quietly. It took Madoka another moment, but she eventually pinched her own cheeks. "No, it'll be fine! I'm a magical girl!"
    ...
    "Was... a magical girl."
Madoka lowered her hands again, sighing. "But... Pokemon Trainer is kind of similar. You're relying on me, and so are the others."
"Aud." Audino stepped closer and gave Madoka's leg a loose hug. At first, at the cost of almost knocking her clumsy trainer over... But Madoka eventually got her balance again.
"Oh. Audinooo." Madoka dropped to her knees to hug her Pokemon back, "You're right... I can rely on you too, huh? Thank youu."
"No~" Her Pokemon chimed. Madoka smiled softly. She had always wanted to be a magical girl team with the others. Even if she didn't regret her wish, Madoka did miss the old fantasy. Maybe she didn't have magical powers here, or magical girls to fight evil with, but she did have a team. One that she supported as much as they supported her. The thought warmed her with confidence.

Giggling, the pink haired trainer gave Audino one last squeeze and then stood up. "So you think we can do it, Audino? You're right, it won't be that long of a walk if we just keep moving... Okay!"

With a hop, Madoka proceeded down the hill. "We got this~! L-Let's go... Team~!"

Timeline: Discovering that Joey is an "Alien" over rebelgram.
Canon Resource Links: I'm providing three links. First a brief introduction to Homestuck from which the game is inspired. A link about Hiveswap as a game and finally a summary of the timeline in the game which contains spoilers; Act One: Kansas City Shuffle. It should go without saying that the personality section will contain some mild spoilers but nothing too specific.

Personality: Before jumping right into Xefros' personality, it's important to understand that a large portion of his personality and social behavior is shaped by the culture of his planet. The most significant part of the culture to understand is the Hemospectrum of Alternia. As the name suggests, the Hemospectrum is the spectrum of blood colors posses by trolls. This spectrum dictates several different things in troll society such as their caste system, occupation options/social interactions, and even biology. The caste system is based on the color of the blood and follows the order of the rainbow which gives us the terms "lowblood" and "highblood" with lowbloods occupying the peasantry population and highbloods occupying the nobility portion of the population. Due to the violent nature of Alternia, lowbloods are generally mistreated, culled, or forced into laborous slave work for higherbloods and for the most part, many accept that as their way of life. (Xefros states that rustbloods like him don't matter and no one cares if a lowblooded neigherborhood gets raided or set on fire simply because the Heiress wanted a cool selfie backdrop. The 'disposable' nature of lowbloods is also reflected in things like sports in Alternia whereas the most important position is also the one that has the highest risk for getting killed.) Many highblooded trolls see culling the weak as their duty or do so because it's a hobby or fun.

Blood impacts biology too with lowbloods being gifted with powerful mental abilities whereas highblood trolls are gifted with incredible physical powers. Even anatomy is impacted by the hemospectrum! (Highbloods closer to purple and fuschia in the hemospectrum have fins which are basically markers of royalty.) It's also said that life expectancy is different for members of the caste but that could also partly be due to the violent social norms.

This is the most basic surface level of understanding the Hemospectrum but it will go a long way in understanding Xefros (a low rustblood) and his motives and basic interactions with others. So who is Xefros?

Xefros is a timid troll with anxiety and self-esteem issues but that doesn't stop him from being a selfless troll with a huge heart. All of which we can see in Joey's first encounter with him. Although he wrongly assumes that Joey is his best friend Dammek (because she was using Dammek's laptop), it's clear from their first interactions that Xefros cares for the wellbeing of others. He asks if she is ok because he'd just witnessed a huge explosion that took out the roof of his friend's house and because their suburbs were being raided with trolls being snatched up from the streets. Heck, when he does find out that Joey isn't Dammek and that she's an alien- he's quick to offer her his help in getting her out of Dammek's house because she's a lowblood like him AND an alien, someone who the Heriess doubly hates! Even with this quickness to act, Xefros kindness also shows a great deal of selflessness because he's risking his own life to save Joey. (The neighborhood they're in is being raided at the time after all; he could easily be culled or arrested by the drones flying around.) While he doesn't manage to make it to Joey due to being crushed by falling debri, he still helps her out by calmly explaining how to do things in Dammek's house to unlock it and find items to help them both escape the neighborhood.

Though while Xefros may be quick to lend a helping hand and put himself in harms way for others, Xefros doesn't think very highly of himself. While talking to Joey he repeatedly apologizes much like someone with Apology Syndrome would. He uses the word "sorry" often and frequent, to the point where he even apologized after bringing attention to something that was bothering him, claiming that it was probably a silly thing to mention and that it wasn't a big deal. He even told Joey not save him when he needed saving because he didn't want her to risk hurting herself but also because he felt like he wasn't worth the effort. A large part of his low self-worth might have stemmed from Alternian culture. Since he's on the lowest rung of the caste, he's used to seeing and hearing about fellow low bloods being culled for no rhyme or reason, stating that "we don't matter" and that "all [of] this is taking out the garbage."

A lot of this self-esteem issues seem to be tied to anxiety as he is constantly looking worried or anxious in cut-scenes. Then again, he is watching his neighbors get snatched up and his suburbs being burned down to the ground. The sorry-tick and typing quirk do indicate some manner of anxiety or uncertainty. His uncertainty becomes clear when he asks Joey what he should say or do when it becomes clear that his current words or actions aren't helping, as he seems to rely on others to tell him what to do in order to feel like he is succeeding. (He is very used to following Dammeks whims as Dammek is constantly testing him. But Xefros feels lucky to have someone to be able to push him to his limits, stating that "being concerned is what friends do for each other" when Joey tries to tell him Dammek isn't a nice person.) A lot of his anxiety is also tied to his fading childhood as he thinks about his future and what that means for him. (He reflects on the fact that he doesn't have time anymore to do the things he used to, partly because Dammek demands his attention in other areas.) Even his stage persona in the band Dammek made him be a part of exhibits an anxious "skittish"-ness to it. But that also may be because he's terrified of the lyrics he sings in their band. They are revolutionary and could put a target on his back for making rhymes about taking down the Heiress.

Xefros is also a bit naive and too trusting of others as seen with his relationship to Dammek. For an example, he trusts Dammek without question and lets Dammek take advantage of him and his belongings to the point where Dammek has kept Xefros' personal items for sweeps. He trusts Dammek unconditionally to the point where, when Joey tries to tell him that Dammek isn't nice, he vehemously denies this claim and tries to excuse Dammek's behavior by then claiming he needed Dammek's pushing to get better and stronger. Xefros is also quick to believe that Joey is an alien (doesn't matter which of the three options you pick in that scene as Joey, he will always respond with "woah! that sounds like something an alien would say!")

But despite these weaker tendencies and anxieties of the unknown, Xefros is proud of himself to a degree. He knows that he's trying his best and that he messes up from time to time but that doesn't stop him from feeling pride in the work he does. That work could be something as simple as cleaning his hive to doing something revolutionary even though he might not understand the concepts. He's also excited at trying new things and the prospect of adventurer; exclaiming that Joey is a "real-life adventurer" for the shenanigans she's gotten into. Based on the hobbies and tests that Dammek seems to put Xefros through, it's clear that even though Xefros doesn't think very highly of himself, he's willing to rise up to difficult challenges and attempt to overcome them.

Aside from his quirks and weird alien planet, Xefros is a normal teenager with normal teenage hobbies. His hobbies include playing Arena Stickball for which he is the pusher, a highly dangerous sport position as many are killed quite frequently in the sport, slam poetry/singing (his FLARP class is Espiacrooner which is a fairly difficult class that includes signing and stealth AND Xefros dreamed on being "Slam or Get Culled", a popular Alternian television show that mirrors American Idol except the losers get culled instead of going home.), and video games. He finds comfort in his sports heroes, who were famous rustbloods, and is a little terrified of the unknown in the world. He is also training to be a butler but doesn't enjoy it very much. You know? Just typical teenage things.

As a last-minute addition to Xefros' personality. It should be noted that ontop of the Hemospectrum comes the tradition of hemotyping which essentially means that trolls use font colors to reflect their blood status. Ontop of this odd text flavor, trolls exhibit quirks that are unique to them. Xefros quirk is typing with lower-case letters, little punctuation and using an X to replace words like "X/Ex" "cross" "trans" and words sounding like "ten." He also uses little emotes like :D and :( but uses an X above the eyes to represent his horns. (An example of his typing quirk would be; im so Xcited to see troll panic at the disco X:D ive been paying Xtra atXtion to their new Xsition into the pop genre!!!!! This would translate to; I'm so excited to see (troll) Panic! At the Disco. :D I've been paying extra attention to their new transition into the pop genre!!!!!)

Victory Road Sample:He breathed shakily as he ran a hand through his black curly hair before neatly pulling a cap over his skull. It'd been weird getting used to not having horns. To look so alien in an equally alien world. To say that it was discomforting was an understatement of the year. At best, Xefros was a walking ball of anxiety and at his worst he felt a sinking pit in his stomach at the thought of having left Joey behind in the middle of the imperial raid. But the fact that she'd proven to be very adventurous was at least comforting to him. Maybe her arrival had set off some weird alien transport system? Except... there had been no signs of him taking the place of someone else like Joey did with Dammek. Alien technology and planet swapping aside, Xefros knew he had to be brave and bold like Joey.

With another anxious breath, he pulled the cap down harder as he tried to focus on the battle issued to him. A small smile formed as Xefros exhaled, looking up from his worried gaze with a new passion burning in his eyes. Wherever Dammek and Joey were... he'd make them proud. The challenger had already sent out their pokemon and with a practiced swing, Xefros also threw out his battle buddy.

"Go Xully!" Xefros could feel his confidence building at the sight of his beloved pokemon. Though they'd only known each other for a few wipes now and while their first couple of battles had been clumsy and awkward; they seemed to understand each other better now. He pointed at the enemy Rattata.

"Use scratch now!!" And so it began, with each trainer calling out different commands with varying degrees of success and valor until one winner emerged. Immediately Xefros ran to Slakoth's aid, picking up the lethargic (and heavy) pokemon with relative ease as he smiled from each to ear. Their first victory as a team.

"We did it!" He could barely contain his excitement as he hoisted Xully into the sky. He always knew Xully could do it but now he was starting to believe that he had the power to help win their battles too. Maybe he could be a pokemon master after all.

    Character
    Name: JW
    Series: OC
    Timeline: Post 'book' 1

    Original Character Background:

JW was born around 1950 in rural Tennessee. His family mostly got on with the help of his mother's parents. When his mother contracted pneumonia and died suddenly (heart enlargement) his father fell into a guilt-driven depression and drinking habit which set off the schizophrenia that his own father had suffered from. He grew abusive and JW was taken away from him to live with his grandfather on his mother's side at the age of six or seven. JW lived with him and learned farm work until he was 14. After the death of his grandfather he was placed back with his father who had deteriorated greatly. JW was a sheltered kid and didn't know to look for help. He was pulled out of school after failing tenth grade and kept secluded from people.

He left his father's home at 18 after a violent fight and took his grandfather's horse to a different town. There he fell in with a Mexican-American family after making friends with the oldest son, Horas Valentine. They unofficially adopted him and repaired the damage that had been done to him as best they could. He was fed, clothed, given a role in the family, and spoiled just a little bit. He grew up along side Horas and the two of them did everything together, including sharing an apartment and working at the same deli. They were like Timon and Pumba if Timon and Pumba smoked weed and occasionally vandalized buildings.

"Hawksaw" is the first ‘book’ in the series. I have completed this one. It describes JW’s arrival in the year 2007 from 1974. It hints that this is not his first adventure, but a terrible creature he encountered on the last one still has his claws sunk in deep from Beyond. The being, described only as The Man in the Cap attempts to puppet JW’s body from within and force him to kill himself. JW over powers him and manages to force him ‘back through the veil’. The Man in the Cap steals a chunk of his memory on his way to being shoved into spectator mode and proceeds to make a pest of himself from there on out.

The thing about JW that I want to make very clear is, yes he is schizophrenic and he is aware of it. He experiences audio and visual hallucinations along with pain, but they are separate from the ‘man in his head’ that yells at him for the entire book. JW is very familiar with his symptoms. The Man in the Cap is very real as an entity.

JW tries to confess to the murder of a girl from 1974 but being only 27 years old, no one believes him. The Man in the Cap causes an outburst that makes the cops to write JW off as ‘just a crazy homeless kid’. Unbeknownst to JW, when they investigated his claim, they managed to find a photo of a man that looked very similar to him, sure enough, from 1974. Bugle, Cheif of Police, got mighty spooked and decided to throw JW onto the streets so he didn’t have to deal with it.

The local busybody church lady named Betty notices JW and decides to make him her new charity project. She drags him to church and shows him off to the Do Good Comity to make herself look good. JW is bounced around from host to host, leaving each time due to things like alcohol triggering his PTSD or simply witnessing domestic abuse. When Betty can’t keep him homed, she elects to put him in a ‘historical’ house at the edge of town as its groundskeeper.

JW is not an idiot and accepts this free house. The moment he manages to land a job and starts to get his feet under him it turns out that Something Else is in the house with him: an undead taxidermy nightmare of a wolf that can speak and wants him out. JW, fed up with just about everything at this point, refuses to leave. A fight ensues which causes his elderly neighbor to overhear the ruckus and rush JW to the ER for a severe eye injury.

The neighbor is Mrs. Shirley and she tells JW that Betty also put her on the hill as a ‘charity trophy’ and they bond over how much they hate her.

With a huge ER bill hanging over his head, JW is more determined than ever to defy the creature living in his house. One day, while he is out, the city brings some machines onto the property to deal with some dead trees. The wolf, who we learn is called Deuteronomy, thinks they have come to knock down the house and in an act of desperation, contacts another monster that lives even deeper in the house. Deuteronomy was made by a man and the monster was made by the same man. As the elder, she orders it to destroy JW so that development of the land will stop, but the monster, Feverdream, decides to run out into the town and Do a Crime instead. Deuteronomy is like “fuck”.

JW returns from an outing and actually manages to talk to Deuteronomy without her trying to murder him, he reveals to her that he just wants to live in the house and not destroy it. She’s like ‘Oh. hey by the way…” so he teams up with her in search of Feverdream so that the monster does not kill anybody in town because a) that would be bad and b) they will TOTALLY knock the house down if folks know that horrible monsters come out of it and also that horrible monsters exist??? Also neither of them will have a house.

So, armed with a spell that Deuteronomy’s creator used to make Feverdream, they chase the monster through town. They run into Chief Bugle and he gives them a lead on where the monster went. He’s also like “What the fuck this isnt in my job description.” JW and Deuteronomy trail Feverdream into someone’s house. There’s a really cool fight that eventually starts a fire and the paper that the spell is on gets burnt up. JW opts for just making up his own spell on the spot and beating the monster to death with an empty rifle. The house burns down and JW is rescued from the wreckage by the fire department.

In the end, JW’s medical bills are “taken care of” by Bugle on the condition that if any other monsters pop up, JW takes care of them. Instead of, you know, people trained in combat that have guns. And muscles. Okay.

    World Info:

JW's setting is sort of your run-of-the-mill Earth with hidden supernatural things that have some kind of magnetic attraction to main characters. It's sort of a monster-of-the-week kind of setting for a series of short stories I'm working on. As of right now there are no real history differences between our own world and the Earth JW is from. I may eventually decide that some famous figure like Elvis was actually a unicorn or something, but that doesn't really matter in the long run.

There are three classes of supernatural being: undead, fae, and monsters. Undead contains everything from ghosts to vengeful 'demons' to homebrew necromancy projects. Fae are kind of that weird blurry space between creature and spirit and they don't even give a damn. They are unstable, free-roaming, and snobby. Don't mess with them. Monsters are simply creatures bound by biology that haven't been discovered or have fallen off the radar. They're the rarest.

Other dimensions exist and if you know where the thin places are you can pass between them. Like the layers in an onion, there are infinite dimensions circling the main 'base' dimension the stories take place in. Some are just blurry in-between places. It's possible to slip out of the world behind a gas station in Tennessee and pop out of some lady's bathroom in China. However you must know where the roads are. Otherwise, you might just wind up somewhere in the vacuum of space and promptly turn inside out. Some dimensions are exactly the same as Earth except you, dear reader, you actually play the saxophone. Or if you already play the sax, you're a belly dancer. Or maybe a rabbit.

There are three notable dimensions that cluster close to the base-world and make up something called The Memory Dogma: The Attic, The Underbed, and The Basement. They are guarded by three horses: Lost, Forgotten, and False. The memories of man collect here and sort of form a 'mindscape' for Earth as a whole. Some think fae are formed from this place but nobody knows.

One unique feature of this setting is that every single sentient being capable of reasoning between right and wrong has something called a Mindscape. This is a world that exists inside the individual's head and is populated by manifestations of facets of their personality. The happenings and appearance and even the functionality of this little world reflect what has happened to the character. Everyone's is different and VERY rarely do people even know theirs exists. JW has had brief brushes with his since he did some involuntary dimension hopping, but doesn't really understand it. He just knows there's an annoying trap-mouthed man in his head.

    Personality:

You know that sign at McDonalds that says 'refills same visit only'? They put that there because of people like JW.

James Walter picks his way through life glancing over one shoulder. Street smart and shifty-eyed, if he can take it, he will. Finders keepers, losers SUCK. Growing up in poverty with an abusive father, hopping from home to home and then world to world, and suddenly landing himself in an important position as an adult has given JW a skewed sense of WANT vs NEED. Suddenly an entire town is at his mercy and his fingertips. If it's yours, he covets it. If it's addressed to him, he gives it the stink eye and dunks it in water first because why are you being so nice? Nobody is nice for no reason! Money is his weakness though and it's an easy way to twist his arm no matter how high on the ladder he sees himself. JW has gone so far as to swallow live goldfish for a crisp twenty dollar bill.

And yet, he hates those with money. He envies and despises them and lets his envy leak over onto other privileged people like folks with high educations, claiming them to be know-it-alls. JW is petty and delights in any failure he sees them face. He is a hypocrite in denouncing things like fancy cars and expensive houses when he himself would absolutely indulge in the very same.

On the social end of things, JW tends to go on long solo walks, only coming home when it's time for dinner. When he does hang around people, he tends to be a wallflower and provide snide internal commentary. He isn't good at talking to people outside of ranting, small talk, or making sales. People are more trouble than they're worth in his opinion and if he can't get anything out of them, what's the use in bothering at all? As much as he'd like to call himself a lone wolf, he's more of a lonely wolf. JW is mentally ill and his schizophrenia causes him to come off as rude (even when he isn't trying to be) and distant. He's in a lot of pain due to it and other issues with his body so his fuse is short and his patience is thin as he is. When JW actually does make an effort to reach out and attempt to make friends, he tends to shove his entire leg down his throat. The best way to be friends with JW is to not take anything he says personally because he doesn't mean half of it.

James does surprisingly well with children though. He's ashamed of his incomplete education and doesn't feel nearly as pressured to sound 'smart' around them. He talks to them like equals. Their protection is very important to him. That is, until they become teenagers. He finds himself easily frustrated by them since he is suddenly an opponent. He reads too much into the attitudes they put on as they come into their own and, in turn, makes himself a great target for anybody looking to ruffle his feathers. JW somehow seems to age at least ten years when he comes within a twelve foot radius of a single Hip Teen.

Though his moral compass is wobbly (lying, cheating, stealing, more lying, leading people he doesn't like into fae-infested groves so that they end up on the receiving end of their pranks instead of him) he's not the sort to go out of his way to be cruel. He might make messes in public spaces but he won't do things that could cause harm, such as setting fires or leaving broken glass laying around. He doesn't like animals very much and while he will shout and shoo strays, he wouldn't hurt them. He smokes weed like a train that smokes a lot of weed and has been tempted by other substances but will turn right around and judge anybody with a scowl if he sees them drinking, toting himself as a teatotler.

James Walter is not a terribly good man, but he's not a bad man either. That's what is most important.

He's frowning but that's just his usual expression.]
