Badge Requests

What does it take? It changes for each gym! Normally, the games increase in difficulty as you progress, but that wouldn't be any fun if characters could just as easily take on the Gyms that are supposed to be for top trainers only. THEREFORE, the gym leaders aren't going to be pushovers like in the games! In order to win a badge, the mods will take into account your current roster and the attacks and advantages to see whether your pokémon is strong enough to win a badge or not.

Each gym leader has a Regular Team of pokemon and an Elite Team of pokemon you can challenge. It's up to a trainer to decide which team to challenge, but if you take on the Elite Team of six level 100 Pokemon, you'll receive double the prize money. The items, however, are not doubled. Excellent for trainers looking for the extra challenge or those looking to make money fast.

!!! Badges must be mod approved. To earn a badge, please comment on this post. Please don't ask for more than two badges to be approved at once!

The Elite Four is now distributing Keystones and Mega Stones to promising trainers! Any trainer who has defeated all eight gyms of a single region will be granted a Keystone and one Mega Stone of their choice. No player will be able to have more than one Mega Stone at a time, and those looking to switch theirs out may do so once every four months. Mega Stones may be used in any casual trainer battle, but as far as gyms go may only be used in Elite battles.

The Indigo Plateau is now open to challengers! To qualify, trainers must have all sixteen badges from Johto and Kanto. Every Pokémon they face will be level 100, and the Elite Four and the Champion have heaps of talent and experience. As such, we will be reviewing Indigo Plateau challenges with more scrutiny than we bring to badge requests. A higher level of strategy is required to win on this field. Show us what you've got!

The League Certificate qualifying the winner to create and lead their own Pokémon "Gym." This Gym is part not of the Indigo League, but the Aurora League.
Aurora League Gym Leaders may choose their own battle specializations, as well as. design their own unique Gym (which will take one month to build from the time of request) and Badge (which will be available as soon as the Gym opens). They will be compensated for their work as Gym Leaders with a stipend that will cover building costs, labor (the Leader's and any Trainers they may employ), and rewards for victorious challengers.

We ask that Aurora Gym Leaders think carefully about the location of their Gym and the difficulty level they wish to present challengers. We also ask that they create their own Badge Request page like this one so that others can request battles with them.

To officially request an Aurora League Gym, fill out the provided template and comment here.

Please use this form to request a badge or a showdown with the Elite Four! Post your request as a comment to this post. Badges will generally be processed once per week, on either Wednesday or during the weekend. Please try not to PM or IM mods about badges (including elite challenges) unless your request has gone unanswered for more than a week.

!!! Please request badges as your character is actually in the general area of the gym!

!!! To preserve the spirit of the game, obtaining badges using recently-inherited Pokémon (ie, Pokemon received from dropped characters) that massively outlevel your own is discouraged. If this happens, you may be asked by the badge mod to revise your team. Inherited Pokemon that your character has had for a while and are the same level as the rest of your character's team are fine to use!

!!! Remember that you must fight all four members of the Elite Four and Champion Lance in a row. You may heal your Pokémon between battles and take a short break, but you cannot leave without ending your challenge.

Character: Keldor | [personal profile] behindblueskin
Badge/Gym Leader: Jasmine | Regular
Team: Tanpopo | Sunatchi | Naganegi
Battle Details: Keldor. Keldor.... Why are you here in Olivine challenging Jasmine for her badge? Aren't you supposed to be in Goldenrod battling Whitney? I mean, I know people talk about her Miltank and how tough it can be to battle, but... Surely you can handle that!

What?

What do you mean, you don't want to deal with Whitney's crying after your match? Are crying women really that terrifying?

Oh.

It's because you still don't know how to handle tears, huh?

Very well then...

On with our strategy...

Skarmory

Skarmory might not be the fastest, but it's faster than Tanpopo is, and in the end, that's what counts. To slow things down, we need to keep it from moving at all, and that's what Thunder Wave is for. You can't use things like Sand Attack or Agility to make yourself harder to hit if you can't use your legs, wings or anything else. And since it's basically stuck in one spot, you can whale away with Thunder and Fire Punches, which might have to be used liberally, given the tin chicken's Defence stats. But as both moves are Super Effective against a Steel/Flying type combo, by the time Skarmory's able to mount an offence, it'll be too late when it's time to bring the Thunder.

Magneton

Despite being Ground/Dark, Sunatchi doesn't have many offensive moves that could really put the hurt on Magneton, what with two of his strongest attacks being Dark typed, but that's OK. We'll use a couple of Hone Claws to beef up his Attack stat. And we won't be bothering with something like a Sand Attack to increase evasiveness, because what Magneton has to hit with, either won't hurt very much [normal damage], or won't land at all [Ground's immunity to Electric attacks]. Magneton will probably start Screeching right away, so to protect his hearing, Sunatchi will be Digging his way out of earshot, but not before setting up a Sand Tomb to make sure that Magneton is taking damage while the croc sets things up to hit from below. When he next makes contact, Sunatchi will be hitting with Earthquake, which should result in Magneton going off line.

Steelix

Two down, one to go, and what comes up next could cause Timid-natured Naganegi to Flinch just from looking at it thank goodness for the Steadfast ability!. But Keldor has faith in this duck, and after using Iron Defence and Swords Dance to improve Defence and Attack respectively, Naganegi will be feeling pretty good, too. Good enough to not worry so much that what Steelix has to hurt her with won't hurt so much. Even Dig, if its trainer tells it to use it, and, if it does, when the beeg snek comes up, it'll be battered with first a Leaf Blade, then, now that it's reeling, a Meteor Assault.

Character: Eda Clawthorne | [personal profile] mamalike
Badge/Gym Leader: Morty, Fog Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Roster
Battle Details:

Luzifer the Noctowl takes the lead in this battle, with her normal typing granting her ghost immunity and her sharp beak item boosting her already-STAB flying type moves. Her insomnia ability may also come in handy, should any hypnosis-ing be thrown around. All of that is paired with her access to roost and her own hypnosis/dream eater combo, along with zen headbutt for hitting hard to Haunter and Gengar's partial poison typing.

Lily the Spiritomb is the primary back-up, with moves like dark pulse and hex, the latter being used in tandem with hypnosis. Once again, hypnosis can be paired with dream eater here as well, and shadow sneak or sucker punch are helpful for getting the first hit in. And while Eda definitely likes moves that hit fast, moves hitting hard is not something she overlooks, so Lily setting up nasty plot is a plan here.

Finally, Grudgby the Cinderace is the last line of defense. He's not thrilled to be playing third fiddle, but he's still giving this battle his all like any other. He can set up sunny day to boost his fire moves, and libero allows him to rotate his type if desired with moves like electro ball and acrobatics.

Character: Bruno Bucciarati | [personal profile] nellacerniera
Badge/Gym Leader: Blaine, Volcano Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Chiara (Primarina, Lv85), Lelia (Flygon, Lv85), Teodoro (Slowpoke Lv85), Buttons (Skitty, Lv85), Eliseo (Midday Lycanroc, Lv85), Mirtillo (Swanna, Lv85)
Battle Details: Perhaps unsurprisingly as someone who favors Water-types, the battle against Blaine is Bucciarati's time to shine in particular.

And it's with a Water-type that Bucciarati will open the battle, sending out Chiara the Primarina. Chiara is promptly opening with Misty Terrain, blocking off any Yawn shenanigans, thank you very much. And other ailment shenanigans, for that matter! Misty Terrain will be refreshed whenever it wears off, but beyond that, Chiara will be using Bubble Beam and Water Pulse until Magcargo goes down. On the off chance that Magcargo does manage to get a Yawn out and Chiara falls asleep before she can refresh Misty Terrain, Bucciarati will switch her out in favor of Lelia the Flygon.

With Lelia, the strategy is very simple--start with a Sand Attack spam from hell to throw off the Magcargo's accuracy, and then use Earthquake and Earth Power. Ideally all without being nailed by Yawn.

If Lelia is put to sleep by Yawn, out comes Teodoro! ... Who will promptly be ordered to use Yawn himself. Once Magcargo is asleep, he'll be using Surf and Water Pulse, then reusing Yawn as needed.

Once the Magcargo's dealt with, if Chiara's still out and awake when Magmortar's sent out, then it's more or less more of the same. Misty Terrain to keep any status ailment shenanigans from happening, though Bucciarati will mix things up by having Chiara use Sparkling Aria and Hydro Pump in addition to the other moves.

If Bucciarati has Lelia out, then he'll be having her use an identical strategy as well--Sand Attack, Earthquake, Earth Power.

If either Chiara or Lelia get hit by Confuse Ray, out comes Teodoro once again! Thanks to the Slowpoke's Own Tempo, he'll be able to avoid the confusion status, Smokescreen is easily dealt with by way of Disable, Yawn can put the Magmortar to sleep (and Dream Eater can be used to keep Teodoro's health up!), and Rain Dance can put an end to Sunny Day. Surf and Water Pulse will be the main sources of damage here, and when Magmortar isn't asleep, Teodoro can use Slack Off to keep his health up as well.

One way or another, the Magmortar ideally goes down, and once Rapidash comes out to play, so does Buttons the Skitty, using Fake Out immediately upon being sent out. Afterwards, the Buttons will be using Thunder Wave to cripple the Rapidash's speed (and maybe prevent the Rapidash from moving), and then her primary source of damage will be Dig, despite not getting STAB from the move. And if Buttons happens to sustain a burn? Time for Facade. And if Rapidash is male and has moves that make contact? The Skitty has Cute Charm, so that's potentially one more method of locking the Rapidash down. If Buttons starts getting low on health, Bucciarati will withdraw her before she goes down.

Where things go from there depends on what Pokémon he still has. Eliseo will be his immediate pick, the Rock type immediately kicking up a Sandstorm upon being sent out. From there, Eliseo will be using Sand Attack and Double Team to make sure the Rapidash absolutely cannot hit him and raising his own attack with Howl. Between Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Accelerock, Rock Tomb, and Rock Throw, that's a lot of super-effective STAB damage! Eliseo will also refresh Sandstorm as needed, and if the Rapidash hasn't gone down by the time all the Rock-type moves are out of PP, Eliseo also still has Drill Run.

If Eliseo somehow goes down, Bucciarati will send out Mirtillo, who will open with Rain Dance. Mirtillo will use Aqua Ring after that, then Water Gun, Water Pulse, Bubble Beam, and Scald.

Lelia will be sent out if Mirtillo has gone down--using Sandstorm upon being sent out. Laser Focus will be used to ensure critical hits with Bulldoze, and if all else fails, the Flygon can fall back on good ol' Dig.

Character: Bruno Bucciarati | [personal profile] nellacerniera
Badge/Gym Leader: Blue, Earth Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Ciarduna (Talonflame, Lv85), Pizzelle (Banette, Lv85), Teodoro (Slowpoke, Lv85), Buttons (Skitty, Lv85), Corrado (Luxray, Lv85), Eliseo (Midday Lycanroc, Lv85)
Battle Details: FINAL KANTO BADGE, LET'S GO. The fact that Blue has no specific type specialization means Bucciarati can't have a million contingencies, but maybe that's for the better. Right out of the gate, it's Ciarduna the Talonflame out to go up against the Exeggutor, kicking up a Tailwind first thing. Afterwards, Bucciarati will prioritize using Swords Dance to up Ciarduna's attack. Then, rather than wasting time with Agility for speed boosts, Ciarduna will be making considerable use of Flame Charge for speed boosting and super-effective STAB damage! It's far from the only super-effective damage the Talonflame can deal out, too, with Aerial Ace and Acrobatics at her disposal. With Roost to restore HP as needed and potential burns from Flame Body if any of Exeggutor's moves make contact, Bucciarati is fairly confident Ciarduna's the only Pokémon he needs here. But of course, Bucciarati didn't get to where he is at this point by putting all of his eggs in one basket.

If things start looking shaky for Ciarduna, she's being promptly swapped out by way of U-turn in favor of Pizzelle the Banette. If the Exeggutor is already burned, fantastic, Pizzelle's leaping right into using Hex. If not, Pizzelle's going to be using Thunder Wave instead to paralyze, before using Hex. If that runs out of PP and Exeggutor's still up? The Banette still has plenty of other moves like Shadow Ball, Phantom Force, and Shadow Sneak.

Regardless of which one's out when Exeggutor goes down, either Ciarduna or Pizzelle is staying right there when Machamp comes out. With Ciarduna, it's an easy shift to focus on Flying-type moves. Bucciarati will even have her pull out Growl to lower the Machamp's attack! If Ciarduna's HP starts getting low and she can't rely on Roost anymore to restore it, Bucciarati switches tactics, ordering her to use Flail. If she goes down despite all this, Bucciarati will send out Pizzelle.

If Pizzelle was already out or if Bucciarati had to swap her in, the first thing she's doing is using Double Team. No, it's not likely the Machamp will be able to hit her to begin with, but Bucciarati's taking no chances. From there, it's a matter of using a lot of Psychic and Dazzling Gleam--no, neither of these moves will have STAB when used by a Banette, but that doesn't make them any less super-effective.

Hopefully that's it for the Machamp, but Bucciarati does have one last backup plan there, and that's Teodoro. If Teodoro's sent out, he'll be leading with Yawn. Once the Machamp is asleep, he'll then set up a Psychic Terrain. Zen Headbutt, Psychic, Confusion, and Dream Eater should be sufficient to deal with the Fighting-type.

And frankly, even if Bucciarati doesn't need to send out Teodoro against the Machamp, he'll be the next one out anyway in order to deal with the Rhydon--and honestly, is the only good option for it. The Yawn part of the previous strategy remains the same--put that Rhydon to sleep!--but rather than setting up a Psychic Terrain, Teodoro will opt to use Rain Dance to power up his Water-type moves--and it's a good thing he does, with Surf, Water Pulse, and Water Gun. Bucciarati will be having Teodoro use Yawn again immediately when the Rhydon wakes up--he's very invested in keeping the big guy asleep, but if the Rhydon manages to use Megahorn, that's being promptly met with a Disable. No more of that, thank you very much! Dream Eater will be used to keep Teodoro's HP up when the Rhydon's asleep, and Slack Off will be used otherwise. If absolutely necessary, Teodoro will also pull out Mud Shot and Bulldoze.

Though just because Teodoro's Bucciarati's only good option against the Rhydon, it's not his only option. Should it be necessary, Buttons will make her appearance, entering with Fake Out and following up with Sing and Charm. Payback is practically required if the Rhydon manages to land a hit, otherwise she'll be making use of Dig and Grass Knot. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Dream Eater will keep her HP up if Sing manages to land.

When it's time for Blue to bring out the Gyarados, whichever Pokémon Bucciarati has out is being swapped out for Corrado the Luxray. Regardless what might happen first, Corrado is promptly using Toxic. Cheap, maybe, but Bucciarati feels better having that insurance that the Gyarados will go down. Double Team is next to make sure the Gyarados won't land a hit. From there, it's simply a matter of alternating Charge and Discharge. Or Shock Wave. Or Thunderbolt. Thunder on the off-chance Blue had the Gyarados use Rain Dance, though that's unlikely. Protect will help Corrado deal with any attacks that might manage to land.

If Corrado goes down, though, Buttons will make her appearance here as well, opening with Fake Out as usual. If the poisoning from Toxic has been cured, she'll use Thunder Wave, otherwise she'll leap right to Charm. Once the Gyarados's attack has been sufficiently lowered, she'll mostly be relying on Play Rough and Zen Headbutt, with Payback thrown in as needed.

Assuming Corrado's still up by the time Pidgeot comes out, he's sticking around. The Pidgeot will immediately be met with Thunder Wave. Any Sand Attack spamming will be met with Shock Wave. And Swift, if it becomes necessary.

If Corrado goes down, either by Gyarados or by Pidgeot and the Pidgeot's still out, it'll be Eliseo's turn next, and he'll immediately be using Sandstorm, to be refreshed as needed. After a Stealth Rock and a few uses of Double Team, he'll be ready to hop right to an offense with various Rock-type moves. Accelerock might be a favorite in particular. If need be, though, Eliseo also has Thunder Fang and will be making use of Sucker Punch.

Regardless of whether Corrado finishes off the Pidgeot or Eliseo does, it's Eliseo who will be facing the Arcanine. In the case of Intimidate, Eliseo will patch up his own attack by way of Howl, otherwise jumping right to Sand Attack and refreshing Sandstorm if necessary. He'll be making use of every Rock-type move in his arsenal as well as Drill Run.

If Eliseo goes down, Teodoro will be brought back out to clean things up, starting off with Yawn and overwriting the Sandstorm with Rain Dance if necessary. Crunch will be Disabled, Dream Eater and Slack Off will keep HP up, and otherwise, it's going to be a lot of Water moves and Mud Shot or Bulldoze if those become necessary!

And hopefully, that'll be what Bucciarati needs to walk away with the Earth Badge.

Character: Ryou Bakura | [personal profile] rolltoavoidpossession
Badge/Gym Leader: Pryce | Glacier Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Change of Heart, Silver Fang, Anubis
Battle Details: This one actually presents a little bit of a challenge since many of Ryou's higher level Pokémon have weaknesses to Ice, Water, or Ground. He could just bring a few level 100s, but he doesn't think that's fair (and he doesn't have enough level 100s to build a full team/face Pryce's elite team yet anyways), so he ended up having to train a few new Pokémon for this.

VS Dewgong

Ryou will open with Change of Heart the Morpeko, who will open immediately with Aura Wheel to take advantage of Aura Wheel being Electric Type depending on Morpeko's form and the Speed boost granted by the move. From there, it depends on Change of Heart's current form; Spark if the Morpeko is in Hangry Mode and Aura Wheel if in Full Belly Mode. If Change of Heart gets a little too beat up, he'll switch to Silver Fang and have the Furfrou use Headbutt to finish up.

VS Lapras

What happens here depends on who's out. If Change of Heart is still out, then Ryou will keep going with the Spark/Aura Wheel combo. If Silver Fang is already out, or Change of Heart gets too beat up to continue, then Silver Fang will open up with one Sand Attack before using Headbutt for damage and the flinch chance.

Both Change of Heart and Silver Fang have Persim Berries in case of confusion (Anubis would have one too but he loves his Soothe Bell too much to let Ryou take it away even short term), and if the Lapras gets off either Sing or Perish Song, then Ryou will switch; to Silver Fang if Change of Heart is the one out or to Anubis if Silver Fang is the one out. If Anubis is switched in, then the Riolu will use Swords Dance once, followed by Force Palm.

VS Mamoswine

If Anubis isn't already out at this point, then he'll be brought out to face the Mamoswine. Anubis will open with Swords Dance if he hasn't already used the move, followed by Force Palm. If Anubis starts getting low on health, then Ryou will instead have the Riolu use Reversal in an attempt to finish things fast, especially if Silver Fang is too low heath to come back in.

With luck, he'll win this!

Aerial Ace, Steel Wing... As a last restort, Keith would consider having Corviknight use Brave Bird, but only if absolutely necessary. He'll also have Meowstic on standby with psychic moves like Psyshock and Psybeam, and will bring him out if the Hitmon's are strong on attack, as Meowstic has Charm and can lower their attack power. For Poliwrath, Meowstic will also be on standby with psychic moves, but Keith is going to use Zebstrika primarily with its electric moves, Thunder Wave, Spark, Wild Charge, and Discharge. As additional backup, Keith also has his Type: Null to help. Type: Null is Ghost type, and will likely have a dramatic evolution during the battle!

Battle Details: Bringing in Sirfetch'd with the Leaf Blade to start against Dewgong and Lapras, with some help from Luxray and Zebstrike with their electric type moves, and Gallade with some more grass moves along with fighting moves. Gallade will be doing double duty against Mamoswine as well, along with Wailord's water moves. Miltank has some fighting moves as well, and will be a good back up to help against Mamoswine when needed, or even sooner against Dewgong and Lapras if it comes down to it.

Battle Details:

This battle primarily belongs to Queenie the Noibat and Willow and Goops, the Meowstic buddies - though Lily the Spiritomb will come in to absorb/tank some hits if Eda needs to heal up those three with potions and the like.

As has thus far been her usual method, Eda's primarily about hitting hard with the moves that do the most damage. That said, when Queenie comes out first, she'll still be setting up a Tailwind. Hitting hard is good, and so is hitting fast! Other than that, Queenie will mostly be attacking with Air Slash and Razor Wind. Eda's also pretty fond of having her use a combination of Double Team and Supersonic.

Goops will get a turn at things after Chuck's first Pokemon, and in addition to dishing out Psychic attacks, again there's a bit of set-up here. Specifically, Reflect, combined with Charm if Chuck's Pokemon prove to be hitting too hard. And of course, Sucker Punch can be useful for getting a quick attack in to finish things.

Willow is up last, and she'll set up a Future Sight before going in for much the same approach for actual damage-dealing as with Goops, noting that if she is fighting Poliwrath, Charge Beam will be tried, though Eda will be unimpressed with the move's low power, especially on a non-electric type Pokemon, and quickly return to using moves like Psychic and Psyshock.

Character: Chai | [personal profile] rhythmaction
Badge/Gym Leader: Violet City / Zephyr Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Trent Reznor (Chatot, lvl 70), Prince (Purugly, lvl 45), Roquefort (Rockruff, lvl 20)
Battle Details:
Guess who forgot that the first gym is literally level 30? Meeeee! At least Chai is kind of lazy and hasn't really been leveling his Pokémon very aggressively, despite being in the game for 4 months, but he's still got a bit of a level advantage. That's okay, though, cus his team has such a wild level disparity and no real type advantage besides his tiny Rockruff, so we'll see how this goes!

Noctowl
Sending in Chatot first, it's a Normal type vs Normal/Flying match up, so no real type advantage or disadvantage here. The only advantage Chai really has is the level difference. This means that Chai is going to have to resort to strategy. Chai is, unfortunately, not very good at strategizing, especially when left to his own devices. Thinking himself to be so very smart, he's going to start off with using Echoed Voice. Repeatedly. In the hopes that, through its repeated use, it'll gain more power and hit harder. (He's the kind of character to just only use attack moves in actual Pokémon games.) This strategy would be utterly, completely stopped in its track by Confusion. If this ends up happening, Chai will scramble and try to change tactics, instead also trying to put Noctowl to sleep with Sing, then attack with Fury Attack and Peck.

In the unlikely event that Chatot goes down, he'll send in Purugly and just. Use Hypnosis and then wail on it with Fury Swipes.

Honchkrow
Again, no real type advantage or disadvantage here on any of his team except for his tiny Rockruff, who he's only going to send in as a last resort. He's learned a little from the Noctowl, though--if his Chatot is still up, he's going to open with Sing again, and then try and take it down as fast as possible with Hyper Voice. If, for some reason, he can't use Sing--say Honchkrow uses Taunt to prevent the usage of status moves--he's going to resort to damaging moves like Echoed Voice and Fury Attack. If things look really bad, he's going to try to use Roost to recover HP.

If he can't find the space to heal, he'll use Parting Shot to switch into his Purugly and just go to town with Play Rough, the one attack he has that does double damage to Honchkrow.

Pidgeot
Same strategy with Noctowl--only, if both Chatot and Purugly are on the ropes, he's going to send in Rockruff as a last stand. Poor, poor, Level 20 Rockruff. He's going to try and avoid being one-shot right off the bat by using Sand Attack and Double Team, and then try and pitch some rocks with Rock Throw. Please let this work.

[personal profile] nightyorb 2023-10-04 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Riz Gukgak | [personal profile] nightyorb
Badge/Gym Leader: Saffron City / Sabrina
Elite/Regular: Elite Team
Team: Asfel the Shedinja (lvl 100); Grum the Honedge (lvl 100) (Holding Focus Sash); Hangdog the Silvally (lvl 100) (holding Scope Lens); Tisz the Spinarak (lvl 100); Chit the Sableye (lvl 100) (Holding Clear Amulet); Tufsa the Ninjask (lvl 100);
Battle Details:

Hey Sabrina, remember Riz? Cause he is allowed to take on Elite teams now and he's coming for YOURS.

(Doesn't he already have the badge? Yes. Is he still going to do this? Also yes.)

vs Jynx

Against Jynx, Riz is going to start strong and bring out his Silvally Hangdog. As a pure Steel type, Hangdog has resistances to most of the kind of moves Jynx can do.

Because of Jynx's relatively low defence, Riz is going to focus on physical moves this battle -- specifically ones like Iron Head (steel type move, STAB damage, may make Jynx flinch) and X-scissor (bug type move). These are both moves that Jynx is vulnerable to. He'll prioritise using Iron Head (because of the chance of making Jynx flinch) but he has X-scissor in reserve should he become unable to use Iron Head for whatever reason.

If Jynx uses Sing to put Hangdog to sleep, Riz will have him use Snore to still inflict damage. In the event Jynx uses Perish song, Riz will switch out Hangdog for another one of his pokemon, (most likely his Honedge) to clear the Perish Count, then switch him back in.

vs Wobbuffet

Against Wobbuffet, Riz will be bringing out his Spinarak Tisz.

While it is true that Spinarak has a weakness to psychic moves, Wobbuffet's only offensive Psychic move is Magic coat which returns any special damage done twofold. Thus, Riz's brilliant scheme is that he simply will not use special moves. Instead, all his moves this round are going to be physical ones. Now, Wobbuffet has a way of countering physical moves too -- but it does that using Counter, a Fighting type move, which just like Magic coat returns damage twofold. And it just so happens that Spinarak has a double resistance to Fighting Damage, which in the end balances out to Spinarak taking half damage.

To start off the battle, Riz will have Tisz use Poison Jab, repeating this move until Wobbuffet is poisoned. If Wobuffet uses Safeguard, he'll stop the jabs and immediately move on to phase two.

In phase two, Riz will have his Spinarak use Pin Missile (Bug, STAB). Should he become unable to use Pin Missile, he'll use Shadow Sneak (ghost). The trick here is to simply do more damage to Wobbuffet than it can do to Spinarak due to its resistance.

One thing to note is that there is a chance Wobbuffet will use Destiny Bond, forcing Spinarak to faint alongside it. Unfortunately, Riz has no defence against this (and Wobbuffet's ability prevents Spinarak from switching out) so should this happen, he'll accept that this round will essentially be a draw, and apologise to Tisz later.

vs Espeon

Against Espeon, Riz will bring out his Sableye Chit. As a dark / ghost type, Sableye is immune to Psychic and Normal moves, which make up most of Espeon's roster. Espeon does have some fairy type moves, however these are all stat-lowering ones. To prevent these moves from having too much effect on Chit, he'll be going into battle wearing a Clear Amulet. It does have one dark type move that can inflict damage on Sableye, but Riz figures that he should easily be able to outpace the amount of damage Espeon can deal using that.

To start the battle, Riz will have Sableye use Confuse Ray to inflict confusion on Espeon. This will hopefully see Espeon inflicting some damage on itself, and it is one status that it cannot pass back onto Sableye using its ability Synchronize.

Once Espeon is confused, Riz is going to have Sableye use Nasty plot twice in a row to sharply increase its special attack.

With his special attack sufficiently boosted, Riz will have Sableye use Dark Pulse. This is a Dark type move, so it has STAB damage, will be further boosted by Sableye's raised special attack, and Espeon is weak to it. In addition to all that, it can also cause Espeon to flinch (though most likely won't, as Espeon should be moving first in this battle. Still, it is a thought)

If he becomes unable to use Dark Pulse (or just bored) he'll switch to using Nightshade, which calculates its damage off the Pokemon's level. As Sableye is level 100, that should do a nice amount of damage. Plus it is a ghost move which Espeon is weak to.

Now, Riz in general isn't too worried about the amount of damage Espeon can inflict using Bite, but one small thing to consider is its chances of making Sableye flinch. Should this occur more than once, Riz will switch to using Shadow Sneak, which is a +1 priority move and therefore completely bypasses Sableye's weak speed stat. And once Espeon's bite comes second, flinching suddenly becomes of no concern.

vs Gallade

For this round, Riz will bring out his Ninjask Tufsa. Ninjask doesn't have any resistances to Psychic or Fairy type moves (but it also doesn't have any weaknesses). Gallade, meanwhile, does have a weakness to Flying types.

Starting off this battle, Riz will have Ninjask use Toxic to badly poison Gallade. Once that is done, he'll have Ninjask use Swords dance to sharply boost her attack.

At this point, Riz's next move depends

- If Ninjask has already taken two strong hits and is low on HP, he'll have her use Rest. While Ninjask is asleep because of Rest, he'll have her use Sleep Talk which will have her randomly use one of her moves. When Ninjask wakes up, he'll have her use Aerial Ace. This move never misses and inflicts Flying damage to which Gallade is weak. If Ninjask gets low in health again, he'll repeat the Rest-Sleep Talk combo.

- If Gallade hasn't dealt much damage yet, he'll immediately use Aerial Ace and keep this up until Ninjask's HP drops low, at which point, he'll start using the above-mentioned Rest-Sleep talk combo, switching back to Aerial Ace whenever Ninjask wakes up.

Riz hopes Ninjask alone is enough to deal with Gallade. Should Gallade be able to bring Ninjask down, he'll bring Chit the Sableye out again. This is not ideal, as Sableye is weak to Fairy moves. However, Riz hopes that should this become necessary, Gallade is already on its last legs, and Chit will be able to tough it out.

If Sableye comes into play (with his stats still boosted from before), Riz will have him use Fake out on the first turn (which will go first if used on the first turn and will make Gallade flinch) and afterwards switch Shadow Sneak, which is a +1 priority move and therefore completely bypasses Sableye's weak speed stat. This will allow him to move ahead of Gallade and hopefully take him out before Gallade can take Sableye out.

vs Gardevoir

Against Gardevoir, Riz will bring out his Honedge Grum. Honedge is a combined steel/ghost type, which is two things Gardevoir is weak to. Additionally, Honedge has resistances to both Fairy and Psychic moves which make up move of Gardevoir's roster.

Riz will have Honedge start off using Sword Dance to increase its attack by +2. After this, he'll have him use Shadow Sneak (Ghost, STAB). Shadow Sneak is a priority move, so Honedge should be going before Gardevoir which will help make up for Honedge's rather weak speed stat. He'll also switch this up by using Iron Head. (Steel, STAB)

There is a chance Gardevoir will put Honedge to sleep, in which case he will use Snore. If his HP drops sharply (and Gardevoir hasn't used Misty Terrain), he'll use Rest.

Now hopefully, Honedge will be capable of dealing with Gardevoir by itself. However Gardevoir does have a lot of moves that replenish its HP (while Honedge only has Rest), so there is a chance this turns into a long battle of attrition. If Honedge finds himself on the wrong side of this battle and faints, Riz will send out Hangdog the Silvally again.

The first thing Hangdog will immediately do is use Heal Block to keep Gardevoir from using moves that replenish its HP. With that done, Riz will have Silvally use Iron Head and Poison Fang to target Gardevoir's weaknesses. He'll refresh the Heal Block until Gardevoir is down.

vs Alakazam

Against Alakazam, Riz's choice is quite simple -- he'll bring out his Shedinja. Alakazam's entire move pool consists of psychic and normal-type moves, both of which Shedinja is entirely immune to.

For this battle, Riz's strategy is simple. He will have Shedinja just sit there and absorb attack after attack with no damage while using Shedinja's various Ghost-type moves on Alakazam. And as this is Sabrina's last Pokemon, he doesn't even need to worry about her switching to another pokemon.

Please know that Riz absolutely knows he is not getting anything out of this battle cause he already has the badge. He just doesn't like being told that he cannot do something for what he feels is a very stupid reason.

Character: Yuzu Hiiragi | [personal profile] songstressedout
Badge/Gym Leader: Boulder Badge
Elite/Regular: ELITE TEAM
Team: Here, replace Soprano (Altaria) and Aria (Sylveon) with Diva and Robin.
Battle Details: At last, Yuzu is finally challenging the Kanto gyms. Understanding that because she'll be challenging the elite teams this time, she's come prepared for an actual challenge, with her team ready to handle the Rock Gym's full strength.

Rhyperior

Yuzu will lead with Tsukikage (Greninja), and she'll first open up with Rain Dance in order to power up Tsukikage's water-type moves, and make thus it easier for Tsukikage to overwhelm Rhyperior with speedy hit-and-run tactics. With Rain Dance set up, the strategy is to pepper Rhyperior with Water Shuriken, now boosted from the Rain and thus take advantage of the considerable weakness to Water that Rhyperior has. Should things ever get dicey, though, then it'll be time for Hydro Pump instead.

Rampardos

If Tsukikage is still in good shape after Rhyperior, then Yuzu will repeat the same strategy against Rampardos. If not, then next in line is Diva the Tsareena, who will lead with Teeter Dance to confuse Rampardos before aiming to take them down with Trop Kick.

Golem

Yet again, if any of Yuzu's prior Pokemon are still able to fight, then she'll be continuing with their respective strategies to deal with Brock's rock-types... but in any case, next in line is Fang the Lycanroc, who will lead with Swords Dance before attacking with Drill Run, or Counter should the opportunity arise when they can see the attack coming.

Omastar

If Fang is still able to fight, then instead of Drill Run, they'll be aiming to defeat Omastar with Close Combat. Next in line, however, is Robin the Decidueye, who will hopefully be able to easily dispatch Omastar with a 4x effective Leaf Blade.

Kabutops

Next in line is Mozart the Gallade... who Yuzu will be promptly Mega Evolving once he hits the field. From there, Yuzu will lead with Swords Dance before looking to end the fight with Leaf Blade.

Onix

In theory, after Mega Evolving, Mozart should definitely still be around to deal with Onix... which of course means another Leaf Blade to finish off the fight, though Schubert the Garchomp is still available next in line to handle the rest with Earthquake.

Character: Bo-Katan Kryze | [personal profile] mywayistheway
Badge/Gym Leader: Zephyr Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Tooka, Paz, Laaran, Balutar, Kles
Battle Details: Bo-Katan is ready for her first gym challenge! Though she comes in with six Pokémon, she only uses five as her grumpy Dragonite sits on the sidelines as a spectator. She is also not wearing her armor for some reason. Hm!

Noctowl
Bo starts with her bird eating cat, Tooka. She would never forgive Bo if she didn’t get a chance to take out some big bird Pokémon! She starts with Taunt and then follows with repeated Power Gem. Unless the Noctowl gets the better of her she will finish it off with a Pay Day. Woo! Money! If the Noctowl is too much for her she will follow with Paz.

Honchkrow
If Tooka beat the Noctowl the same strategy will apply here until the Persian is too low in HP to continue which will prompt Bo to switch to Paz if he’s not the one to start. This battle is taking place on Sunday, the last day of torrential rain. If Paz doesn’t need to use Rain Dance because of the weather then Bo won’t tell him to, but if he does then she will have him do it. Either way, with his water moves powered up that’s what Bo will focus on with Water Pulse and Aqua Tail. This will continue until the Honchkrow is defeated or Paz drops too low in HP. If Paz is defeated then Laaran will take over.

Pidgeot
If Paz defeats the Honchkrow then his strategy will continue until he can’t go on. After him comes Bo’s Lapras, Laaran. If Rain is still in effect then Bo will immediately have her use Thunder and then Ice Beam. If Rain is not in effect for some reason then she will go for Confuse Ray and Ice Beam. If the Pidgeot manages to defeat Laaran, then Bo will switch to her Cyclizar. Balutar will use Shed Tail which will put up a substitute and he will switch out for Kles. The Nosepass hiding behind the substitute will use Rock Slide and Spark to hopefully finish off the Pidgeot. If for some reason Kles fails then Balutar will come back to use repeated Aqua Tail is there’s Rain or Bite if there’s not.

Character: Minfilia Warde | [personal profile] prayreturn
Badge/Gym Leader: Elite Four
Elite/Regular: Well, it's their only team, but they're the Elite Four, so...
Team: Here! Meanwhile, I've also listed them below.
Battle Details: hands you over 3000 words--

General

Minfilia will not be afraid to change Pokemons' held items between battles, and heal them with Berries she's grown. She also will not be shy about having to let them faint if it will help with the battle. She trusts them now, in both senses of the term.

Her Pokemon, however, have been trained to only look to her for guidance if they are truly lost. Instead, she's trained them to use their own judgement. But if she lets out a whistle to them, they will change tactics and listen to her commands, that she gives with short phases. Yes, she has treated this like somebody planning fights in an MMO.

Rose the Audino
Held Item: Audinite OR Leftovers
Moves: pound, growl, helping hand, hyper voice, misty terrain, play nice, refresh, baby doll eyes, double slap, disarming voice, attract, secret power, zen headbutt, life dew, entrainment, take down, heal pulse, after you, simple beam, double edge, last resort - Dazzling Gleam, Misty Terrain, Power-Up Punch, Psychic, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Covet, Psyshock, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Trick Room, Surf, Grass Knot, Iron Tail, Throat Chop, rain dance, retaliate, drain punch, return, substitute

Minfilias' starter, and the Pokemon who has been learning to speak the common tongue. She wears her Mega Stone proudly, but will only Mega Evolve when commanded to.

She will either use a more physical battle style, or a more special attack-based one, depending on if her opponent has stronger defenses or special defenses.

To Start: If the Pokemon has an ability that messes with set-up and doesn't seem to be setting up itself, it'll get hit by Simple Beam. Otherwise, Entrainment to give them Regenerator. This is fine, however, since if they need to switch? Well, any set up is gone.
Except against Bede, Rose will also use Misty Terrain, to block status. And then, depending on the damage done by her opponent, she'll set up Substitute.

Physical: The main goal is to set up Power-up Punch, to buff attack, before going for the best Physical move for the Pokemon she's facing. If she is low HP, and is behind a substitute, she'll go for Drain Punch. If she is low HP, and doesn't have enough to use Substitute, same.

Special: Unlike Physical, Audino doesn't have set-up moves for special attackers. Instead, she will Mega Evolve, and go on the hyper offense. Going for either Hyper Voice or Dazzling Gleam, if any of her other special attacks won't do more.

Misc: If Rose is status'd in the turn between Misty Terrain dropping and it being set up again, she will use Refresh. However, if she is burned, she will not remove the status - instead using Life Dew if she can keep up with the opponents damage.
If she is facing down a Pokemon with a massive Attack stat, then she will use Simple Beam and then Baby-Doll Eyes.

Alisaie the Meowstic
Held Item: Light Clay
Moves: scratch, leer, magical leaf, me first, stored power, covet, confusion, light screen, psybeam, fake out, disarming voice, psyshock, charge beam, shadow ball, reflect, extrasensory, psychic, role play, signal beam, sucker punch, future sight - Helping Hand, Nasty Plot, Calm Mind, Gravity, Trick, Heal Bell, Facade, Shock Wave, Telekinesis, Pay Day, magic room, psychic terrain, substitute, thunderbolt, toxic, trick room, wonder room

One of Minfilias' first captures, Alisaie was promised she would get to fight the league, and now here she is.

Alisaie is both a cleric, sort of, alongside Minfilias' main special attacker.

To Start: Whenever Alisaie switches in? Unless it's a Ghost-type?
Fake out. And then, depending on what attacks are being used, Reflect or Light Screen. And then? If her opponent has high Special Defense?

Wonder Room. It flips Defense and Special Defense.

Main Loop: Alisaie has two main goals in the main battle loop. That is: boost and strike. She'll keep up any screens she needs to, while using Calm Mind (against special attackers) or Nasty Plot (against Physical Attackers).

After that, her main attacks are Psychic, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, and Magical Leaf. Depends on the Pokemon she's fighting. However, if she can buff up while the opponent can't take her down?

Stored Power at max Calm Mind/Nasty Plot.

Misc: If Alisaie is switched in and Minfilias' other Pokemon are status'd, Heal Bell.

Moenbryda the Feraligatr
Held Item: Expert Belt
Moves: scratch, leer, water gun, rage, bite, ice fang, thrash, flail, scary face, agility, crunch, chip away, slash, screech, aqua tail, hydro pump, superpower - Water Pledge, Bulldoze, Block, Icy Wind, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Facade, Rock Smash, Return, Liquidation, Spite, Strength, Surf, Whirlpool, Brick Break, mud slap, low kick, scald, ice beam, dig, endure, toxic, protect, aerial ace, headbutt, substitute, avalanche

One of the Pokemon who Minfilia hatched after the Basculegion event, who she named after a dearly departed friend. Moenbryda was strong at home. And now, she's strong here.

Moenbryda is one of two Pokemon who are basically Physical walls. Due to using the Power item, Moenbryda also has more defense then the usual Feraligatr.

To Start: It's a very simple start up. First, Minfilia will see if she needs to break the defense of her opponent, and will get Moenbryda to go for Screech if so. Then, a Scary Face or two. Protect, if her opponent uses a multi-turn move or seems to be using a move like Hyper Beam. And then... Block. Yeah. To see if the opponent tries to switch out to navigate around the big physical wall in front of them.

Main Loop: Again, it depends on the opponent. But the main powerful moves are Bulldoze, Brick Break, Aerial Ace, Avalanche, Crunch and Aqua Tail. Superpower, if Moenbryda is close to fainting or close to victory.

However, Minfilia and Moenbryda will also go for the Scald against physical attackers instead of Screech if it's also super effective, or if Minfilia feels they might switch around.

Misc: If Moenbryda is hit by a status, she will use Facade. She will also go for Spite on Low PP moves, like Cross Chop.

Warburton the Flygon
Held Item: Muscle Band OR Smooth Rock
Moves: sand attack, bite, sonic boom, fissure, dig, feint attack, superpower, astonish, sand tomb, dragon dance, feint, laser focus, mud slap, bide, bulldoze, rock slide, bug buzz, supersonic, earthquake, crunch, dragon breath, earth power, uproar, screech, dragon claw, dragon rush, sandstorm, hyper beam, dragon tail, boomburst - Bug Bite, Gust, Round, Scorching Sands, Bug Buzz, Roost, U-Turn, Dual Wingbeat, Defog, Fly, Strength, outrage, stone edge, thunder punch, fire punch, flamethrower

While Minfilia never spoke on it, and never will, she also saw her father during that event. And she named this Pokemon after him, hoping to make them both proud.

Warburton was also one of Minfilias' first Pokemon used in gym battles, and knows that movement is important - as well as being another mixed attacker, Warburton is Minfilias' counter to weather strategies.

To Start: Holding a Smooth Rock causes Sandstorm to last for 8 turns - and thus, this is why Warburton begins with it, except against fellow Rock/Ground/Steel-types. In the sands, he prepares to strike. First, Sand Tomb. More chip damage! Then using Supersonic until it hits, and then, well.

Main Loop: Laser Focus time! Laser Focus forces crits. And Warburton loves crits. He loves crits on moves like Dual Wingbeat, Earthquake, Earth Power, Flamethrower, and Mud-Slap most of all. As Sandstorm falls, Sand Tomb no longer entombing, and as there's no Laser Focus up, he'll also U-turn! Usually to Moenbryda, but also likely to the second-best Pokemon for the League member.
(Note, however, if the League member switched in a Pokemon who is strong against Warburton, he would either Dragon Tail (if can take a hit) or U-Turn right away.)

If he's the best, though, he'll switch from Laser Focus to just good ol' striking down with those same moves.

However, if Warburton is close to death, he will go for one of the few Big Moves that seem closer to a panic button. You know. Outrage, Hyper Beam, Fissure.

Misc: Defog is a button to get rid of Stealth Rocks and also Evasion boosts.

Rhalgr the Machamp
Held Item: Expert Belt OR Choice Scarf
Moves: strength, karate chop, leer, low kick, counter, bide, encore, wide guard, low sweep, brick break, knock off, foresight, revenge, dual chop, vital throw, focus energy, wake up slap, cross chop, bulk up, seismic toss, superpower, submission, scary face, dynamic punch, double edge - Rock Slide, tackle, rock smash, bullet punch, double hit, mach punch, thunder punch, fire punch, headbutt, fissure, brick break, bulldoze, cross poison, darkest lariat, high horsepower

A Pokemon from the ancient past, Rhalgr is a precious Machamp, that Minfilia feels will use both past and present to bring her form of strength forward.

While Minfilia chose Rhalgr for one scheme she had from when she first realised the interaction between No Guard and Fissure, she also trusts him as another member of the muscle.

To Start: Rhalgr rushes in with Dynamic Punch. Thus, confusing her opponent. That's the most important part of the set up time. After that, it's time for the main loop already. Simple, but effective.

Main Loop: Unless her opponent seems to have a Fairy-type or Psychic-type move, or is a very strong Special Attacker, Rhalgr will go for Bulk Up twice. You know, not going to be too greedy when it comes to the confusion behind Dynamic Punch.

And then? If the Pokemon is no longer Confused, Rhalgr will go for another Dymanic Punch. Otherwise, he'll be going for the good strong moves. You know. Cross Chop, Rock Slide, or an Elemental Punch.

Also, if a Pokemon is setting up more then once... Encore and then Fissure, unless it's flying. Otherwise, Encore and Dynamic Punch. No, no setting up.

Misc: Yeah, Minfilia knows that relying on Fissure is something that might be expected. Thus, if an opponent has a Focus Sash or Focus Band, Knock Off. Also, Foresight against ghosts.

Tigers' Eye
Held Item: Eviolite
Moves: Moves: flame charge, tackle, smokescreen, rapid spin, smack down, rock polish, ancient power, incinerate, stealth rock, heat crash, rock blast, stone edge, burn up - Dig, Heavy Slam, Heat Wave, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Spikes, bulldoze, scald, flamethrower, high horsepower

You see, the thing is, Minfilia loves this pile of coal. And she also feels that nobody will see her using a NFE Pokemon. And if you need a suicide lead who can also wall a little...

Well. Tiger's Eye is ready as well.

To Start: Stealth Rocks. Yeah.
But a little more then that: Tiger's Eye will first set up Stealth Rocks, and then Minfilia will assess if they should go to the main loop, or greed for some Spikes. (And if her opponent is super effective against fire-types? Quick Burn Up before the main loop, as well.)
Main Loop: Tiger's Eye is an annoyer. Smokescreen if an opponent has no way to get past it. Scald if it's a physical attacker. Bulldoze if they're a little too fast. All ways to help other Pokemon out.
But let's say Tiger's Eye is the last one standing. Hopefully, it's against weakened Pokemon. Then he'll go for Rock Blast.
Misc: Tiger's Eye is also a pivot. If Minfilias' team is weakened, and she needs a free switch, Tiger's Eye is there. (If there is a turn free, then set up begins. Otherwise... well! The Pokemon is ready to get knocked out and cuddle up near Minfilia sleepily.

Bede
Team Order: Rhalgr, Alisaie, Moenbryda, Rose, Warburton

Extra Notes: Choice Scarf Fissure. Minfilia knows it won't work more then once... so she's leading with it. Thus, Rhalgr will show the power he's been holding back this entire time.

The extra notes here are for if that plans fails/if the Pokemon need clean up.

Mawile: If not for Fissure, Minfilia is going to trust in using Warburton and Earth Power (due to it being a little stronger against Mawile), or Tigers' Eye and Flamethrower.
Sylveon: Her back-up plan for Sylveon is Audino (not mega evolved) and Iron tail. (After a Retaliate, of course.)
Galarian Rapidash: Even though it's a Galarian Rapidash, Minfilia still would send out Moenbryda to go Physical. Aqua Tail and all.
Primarina: Alisaie, with the Wonder Room Thunderbolt strat.
Tinkaton: Tinkaton is one of those Pokemon Minfilia doesn't know much about. But since I can assume she figures out it's a Fairy/Steel-type quickly, she'll use similar non-cheese strats against it. However, going for the physical side. ie: Warburton and Earthquake, and Tigers' Eye and Scald/Burn Up.
Hatterene: Ah, his Ace. Minfilia actually has a fun strat, if the Hatterene has Magic Bounce.
Basically, she'll give her Audino Simple, use a Power-up Punch, and then Mega Evolve so that Rose no longer has Simple. Then Iron Tail.

But if that's not the case, and Rhalgr has been taken out, then it's just the regular loop. It's the same with her other Pokemon.

Koga
Team Order: Tiger's Eye, Alisaie, Warburton, Moenbryda, Rose, Rhalgr

Extra Notes:
As assumed by the Carkol lead, Minfilia is going full suicide lead against Skuntank. Well, slightly different. Stealth Rocks, and Bulldoze. As soon as it looks like two more hits will knock out Tigers' Eye? Ka-boom. If Skuntank is not fainted by that point, Alisaie will clean up with Fake Out and Shadow Ball.
After the Fake Out loop on Venomoth, Alisaie'll be going for one Calm Mind, before going for the Psychic loop.
If she gets hit by Toxic or other status moves... you know, Heal Bell.
If the Alisaie loop fails and she's fainted, then Warburton is switching in, for Earthquake. Defog to get rid of any Spikes or Toxic Spikes. Thunder Punch for Crobat.
Moenbryda, meanwhile, if she's in will be going for pure Earthquake or Rock Slide.
Audino will go for Substitute and Return in her loop.
Rhalgr will be Choice Scarf'd, to go for Rock Slide (if Crobat is still around as well) or DynamicPunch (if it's not.)

Bruno
Team Order: Warburton, Alisaie, Tiger's Eye, Rose, Rhalgr, Moenbryda

Extra Notes:
Minfilia is aware that Bruno is mostly physical-based strength. Thus, Warburton is her lead. While she knows Hitmontop might have Fake Out, the first move is to go for Sandstorm, and then a Dragon Dance, and Laser Focus. A bit of set up...
prayreturn: (Default)

[personal profile] prayreturn 2023-10-23 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
And then, Dual Wingbeat. She's using the multi-attack move so she can crit fish. (Also, against Lucario, Flamethrower instead.)
Alisaie, meanwhile, will not use Reflect against opponents, wary of Brick Break. Instead, she'll be going for raw Psychic, or if it seems she'll survive one-two blows, Calm Mind and then Psychic, the classic Psychic look. She will also be holding the Leftovers instead of Wild Rose.
Tiger's Eye is set up for Bulldoze spam, to either force Bruno to switch or to be ready for others.
Wild Rose, Audino, will Mega Evolve right away. Her duty is Simple Beam - especially against Machamp - before Misty Terrain and the Special Loop.
Rhalgr will go for a sneaky Choice Scarf Fissure. Again, this is only because Minfilia wishes to show the strength of the strategy, if showing Bede isn't enough. Especially since she is certain Bruno might carry the same.
Moenbryda might only be the last in the order, but she's not the last resort some might think she is. She'll be there for Aerial Ace and Avalance, with a bit of Aqua Tail. Just her regular loop!
--
Karen
Team Order: Tiger's Eye, Rhalgr, Rose, Moenbryda, Warburton, Alisaie

Extra Notes:
Minfilia is aware of Karen being a status-based fighter, and thus, is ready. A quick set up of Stealth Rocks on Weavile, and then Explosion. Because she knows Weavile is fast, and Weavile is also a threat.
Rhalgr is set up to win here, however. Instead of Fissure, which has been her main strat with the guy, she's given him the Expert Belt. Tying it so it looks like the Choice Scarf, under blue fabric.
Mach Punch will be the main move Rhalgr uses against Weavile, Absol, and Umbreon. But against others? Minfilia will reveal the truth. Rock Slide on Houndoom and Honchkrow, Foresight and Dynamic Punch on Spiritomb. Even if he's burned, Rhalgr will fight on.
Wild Rose is going to go Misty Terrain and Mega Evolved. For every opponent except for Spiritomb, she'll be going for the physical loop. Meanwhile, Spiritomb gets the Special Loop, with Dazzling Gleam.
Moenbryda now has the Choice Scarf, and what will she use it for? Aqua Tail.
Warburton with Muscle Band will be on the Sand Tomb path, without Sandstorm (unless Houndoom uses Sunny Day). And then, will be going for Earthquake on all but Honchkrow, who gets Stone Edge.
Alisaie knows she's fighting a losing battle if she's out, but she'll be going for the Fake Out - Screens - Wonder Room. And then Nasty Plot - Disarming Voice. Mostly to counter any evasion.
--

Lance
Team Order: Tiger's Eye, Moenbryda, Rose, Rhalgr, Warburton, Alisaie

Extra Notes:
The final battle.
Minfilia has given Tigers' Eye her Focus Sash, so she can get Stealth Rocks up. She is aware that there is a faint coming next turn, and doesn't fight it. No, she lets Tigers' Eye faint early-on. (If he survives by a miracle, she uses Explosion.)
But Moenbryda. Oh, beautiful Moenbryda. She's using Block right away, before a single Avalance. Taught for this purpose. Well, not a single Avalance. Two of them.
Moenbryda will be focusing on using Avalance and Liquidation. Except... when Gyarados comes out? Hard switch out, to Rhalgr. Opposite typing, so she knows that Lance will likely not predict it. (Especially since it seemed that Moenbryda could counter with Screech and Return.) When Moenbryda comes in the second time, she will be using a single Agility after trapping her opponent in. You know. For Fun. Unless Trick Room is up.
Rhalgr is Choice Scarf again, even if it's not for Fissure. No, he's there as a revenge killer, most of the time. Thunder Punch on Gyarados, Ice Punch on Salamence, Garchomp, Altaria, and Dragonite, and Rock Slide on Charizard. (If Lance switches in Charizard after Gyarados, it'll get a face full of Thunder Punch as well.)
Wild Rose is set up as a defensive choice this time! Switching in and Mega Evolving right away, Wild Rose is there to, in no paticular order:
- If Lance uses Outrage, to stop the rampage.
- Be a pivot who can set up Trick Room, if Lance boosts Speed too much.
- Retaliate if a non-Tigers' Eye Pokemon faints.
- Use Entrainment to remove abilities if they become hard to avoid.
- If she's forced to not be a pivot and fight, she'll Substitute and then go between Dazzling Gleam or Hyper Voice, and Life Dew and Refresh. You know, to stall.
Warburton is excited. Dragon vs Dragon. The sand will be set up, the Smooth Rock pretty, but no Supersonic. No, just Laser Focus and either Stone Edge or Outrage. Yeah, Minfilia is using the same move she's countered with Wild Rose. Also, Dragon Tail to force out heavily boosted enemies.
Alisaie, too, is defensive but not as annoying as Wild Rose. Her regular Fake Out - Screens - Nasty Plot - Psychic/Thunderbolt loop. It might be a little simple, but sometimes simple is best, especially after some of these plans.

Character: Riz Gukgak | [personal profile] nightyorb
Badge/Gym Leader: Lt Surge / Vermillion City
Elite/Regular: Elite Team
Team: Tumble Dry the Flapple (lvl 100) (holding Sitrus Berry), Chit the Sableye (level 100) (holding Cheri Berry), Asfel the Shedinja (lvl 100), Nasha the Galvantula (lvl 100), Gozgoz the Trubbish (lvl 100) (holding Cheri Berry) (back-up), Puk the Kecleon (lvl 100) (holding Cheri Berry) (back-up),
Battle Details:

vs Manectric

Starting off against Manectric, Riz will bring out his Flapple Tumble Dry.

Due to his combination Grass/Dragon type, Flapple takes only one fourth the damage from any electric attack. And while it has no attacks that can target Manectric's weaknesses, between taking little damage from its electric attacks and being able to deal at least regular damage to it, Riz thinks this is the best match-up.

To start off, Riz will have Flapple use Dragon Dance to boost his stats (twice if Manectric hasn't damaged Flapple too badly yet) before using Grav Apple, a damage dealing grass move, which also lowers Manectric's defence by one point each time it hits. Now hopefully between Flapple's twice-boosted stats and Manectric's lowered defence, it will only take a few Grav Apples for him to go down.

! Flapple will go into battle holding a Sitrus Berry to restore the HP it will lose while boosting his stats. Because of Flapple's ability ripen, which doubles the effectivity of berries, Sitrus will restore double the amount of HP to Flapple.

If things look dicey, Riz will have Flapple use Recycle, which will allow him to regain his Sitrus Berry (let us not ponder how) so it can restore his HP yet again.

vs Electrode

Assuming Flapple has not gone down against Manectric, Riz will leave him out on the field to take advantage of his boosted stats. If Flapple has not yet used Recycle, Riz will command him to use this on his first turn.

As with Manectric, Flapple has a double resistance to Electric attacks, so he only takes one fourth the damage.

Riz will have Flapple continue to use Grav Apple, switching to Dragon Rush if he becomes unable to use this move. He'll keep it up until either of the two pokemon goes down.

If Flapple is the one who goes down first, Riz will bring out Chit the Sableye. Sableye takes regular electric damage, however it does completely nullify any normal damage, therefore making Electrode's fearsome explosion useless.

As for Chit's strategy, that is simple -- Riz will have him use Dig over and over again. As a ground type move, Electrode takes extra damage, and it also means Electrode will not be able to damage Sableye while it is under the ground. He'll keep this up until Electrode goes down.

Show Sableye become unable to use dig for whatever reason, Riz will have him use Zen Headbutt as it has the chance of making Electrode flinch.

! Sableye will be going into battle holding a Cheri Berry, in case it ends up paralysed from one of Electrode's electric attacks.

vs Pachirisu

Against Pachirisu, Riz will bring out Asfel his Shedinja.

Quick recap on Shedinja -- due to its unique ability, it is unable to be hit by anything except super-effective attacks. This means that Shedinja can only be hit by the following types

- Fire
- Flying
- Rock
- Ghost
- Dark

Anything else, it is completely immune to.

Throughout the various gens, Pachirisu only learns Normal, Electric and Fairy type moves. This means that Pachirisu is completely unable to attack Shedinja at all.

So Riz's strategy for this battle is to just have Shedinja completely nullify all of Pachirisu's attacks, while it slowly chips away at its HP using whatever move it wants, starting with Mud Slap (ground type, Pachirisu is weak), then switching to any of the damaging ghost type moves in its arsenal, then to the normal etc, etc.

(Obviously, he'll switch out if Surge switches out his pokemon, but I ask you, are gym leaders even allowed to do that???)

vs Magnezone

Hey, guess what? Remember Riz's Shedinja? It is still out there. Hovering. Doing literally nothing.

Lets check Magnezone's move pool -- Psychic, Steel, Normal, Electric.

Oh, look at the time. It's time to just sit there again, and watch Magnezone be entirely ineffective against Shedinja, who will be slowly chipping away at its HP, starting with Mud Slap (4x weakness for Magnezone) and then moving down the list.

vs Electivire

Against Electivire, Riz will withdraw his Shedinja, as at one point, Electivire was able to learn Flame Punch, and Riz can't be sure if Lt Surge's Electivire has that move in its pool or not. It's okay. Shedinja will ride again some day.

Instead, Riz will bring out his Galvantula Nasha. As a fellow electric type, it means both she and Electivire take half damage from each other's electric attacks and both are unable to get paralysed.

To start things off, Riz will have Nasha use Cross Poison until Electivire is poisoned. Once he has accomplished that, he'll have Galvantula switch to using Signal Beam (chance of leaving the target confused) and Bug Buzz (chance of lowering spec def). If Galvantula's HP dips low, he'll have her use Absorb.

Should Galvantula go down against Electivire, Riz will bring out his Sableye Chit. Depending on whether or not Riz needed him against Electrode, Sableye might come in fully fresh or already partially damaged from his previous battle. In either case, he'll have Chit use Dig until Electivire goes down.

vs Raichu

It's time for Shedinja to ride again.

Whatever state his last pokemon is in at the end of that battle against Electivire, Riz is going to withdraw it and bring back out Shedinja.

A quick check at Raichu's movepool tells us -- Normal, Fairy, Electric, Steel, Psychic -- uh oh, is that a dark move? Thankfully (for Riz) it's a status move, and therefore incapable of being used offensively.

So, again, like before, Shedinja is going to sit there, staring into the void between worlds, probably seeing things not meant to be seen by human eyes, as all of Raichu's attacks do bupkis (highly technical term). Shedinja meanwhile will just continue where it left off, chewing through whatever attacks it has left to slowly take out Raichu.

Riz is hoping to only need these four pokemon to take on Lt Surge, but because he is a very paranoid cautious boy, he, of course, brought two more pokemon along with him. These will be Gozgoz the Trubbish and Puk the Kecleon.

Both of these pokemon don't really have the strategic benefits against Lt Surge's electric pokemon that Riz is looking for, thus their role as back-up, but should it come down to using them, he'll focus on trying to poison his opponents in Trubbish's case and for his Kecleon, he'll first go with a Trick Room, and then just switch wildly between the various different types using Kecleon's Protean ability (of course avoiding any type that has weaknesses to electric). These aren't elegant strategies by any means, but hopefully, they will only be needed against pokemon who have already taken some damage from his main four.

Badge/Gym Leader: Hive Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Balutar, Kles, Senaar, Tooka, Paz
Battle Details: After her win against Falkner, Bo-Katan is coming for her second badge! Again she's only using five pokemon while he Dragonite sits and watches on the sidelines.

Pinsir
Bo-Katan starts by sending our her Cyclizar who wears a Choice Scarf! She has him use Shed Tail and switches out with her shiny Nosepass, Kles! With Kles behind the substitute, she is protected from the Pinsir's attacks. At least for a little while. Bo has her use Thunderwave to paralyze the Pinsir in hopes to make the substitute last longer. She will then have her use Rock Slide, both for the double damage due to weakness and the chance of having the Pinsir flinch. Rock Slide will be used repeatedly unless either the Pinsir faints or the substitute fades and the Pinsir manages to take her out. If the Nosepass does get defeated, Bo will send out her Rowlet, Senaar, next.

Heracross
If Kles the Nosepass does manage to take out the Pinsir, Bo-Katan will have her use Thunderwave on the Heracross too. There may or may not still be a substitute to protect her at this point? Either way, Bo will return Kles after the Thunderwave and switch her out with Senaar the Rowlet. Providing Senaar isn't already out and starting with the Heracross. Bo will have her start with Feather Dance to lower the Heracross's attack. Next she will have the Rowlet go in for Brave Bird for a hopefully devastating attack that'll either take out the Heracross or leave it very weakened. Senaar will take recoil damage of course. If the Heracross hasn't fainted then Bo-Katan will have her use Peck to finish it off, provided the Heracross doesn't manage to take her out. If Senaar wins this she will evolve into Dartrix! If she doesn't she will be followed up by Paz.

Scizor
The moment of truth! Bo-Katan doesn't have a single fire pokemon, and she knows this one is coming. She is a bold one! If Senaar is still standing, Bo-Katan will have her use Feather Dance and Brave Bird on the Scizor also if she manages to get that far. If she does she will be recalled after the Brave Bird and switch to Paz the Blastoise. Paz is holding a Mystic Water and will further up his power by using a Rain Dance. Bet Bugsy doesn't see that very often. Bo-Katan will have Paz go in hard with the water attacks! Having Paz use Water Pulse until the Scizor gets Confused or is defeated. If it manages to get confused, she will then have Paz use Aqua Tail. Hoping to overpower the tough bug with the power water attacks. If Paz manages to get defeated though, Bo will send her Cyclizar back out for repeated Aqua Tail attacks whether or not Rain Dance is still in effect. If Balutar the Cyclizar is defeated then she will finish with Tooka the Persian using Screech and Power Gem OR Aerial Ace if the Scizor is doing Double Team Shenanigans.

Badge/Gym Leader: Erika, Rainbow Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Roster - Eda will mainly be battling with Boots the Delphox and Peapod the Dragonite, though Luzifer, Hooty, and Grudgby are also brought along.
Battle Details:
Eda has put this off for quite a while, and for all she may have claimed she was training her team up, the real reason is that she's not traveling with Hunter anymore. But she's got that all dealt with, and it's back to battling! And hey, at least all the procrastination meant Eda actually did do some research and strategizing for this gym fight.

Boots the Delphox and Peapod the recently-evolved Dragonite are the stars of the show, with Peapod coming out first to set up Safeguard to protect against status conditions, before being switched out for Boots, for now. Boots will be going after Jumpluff with powerful Flamethrower attacks.

But things get a bit more tactical again when Tangrowth comes out. This thing is bulky and more of a physical attacker, so a Will-O-Wisp to burn it is a must. From there, it's admittedly back to Flamethrower, with a few attempted Fire Blasts thrown in. Hopefully Boots's aim proves true! Just when Tangrowth looks on the ropes, Boots will set up a Light Screen before finishing it off.

Peapod comes back out for the fight Bellossom. First step, Thunder Wave to try and paralyze Bellossom, since if the Safeguard hasn't worn out by now, it may soon! And with this being Erika's last pokemon, the bonus of paralysis preventing attacks of all kinds, not just status moves, seems to outweigh the status prevention of Safeguard. From there, Peapod will set up with a Dragon Dance before a barrage of Wing Attacks are unleashed on Bellossom. And, once things are looking close to the end, why not finish off with a Hyper Beam? It's just a bit more fun when things can be showy!

VS Shiftry

Riz is going to start off strong against Shiftry by bringing out his Spinarak Tisz.

As a dual Grass/Dark type, Shiftry has a 4x weakness to bug moves and a 2x weakness to poison ones. Meanwhile, Spinarak, as a dual Bug/Poison type, has a weakness (among others) to flying (x2) and rock (x2) Riz is aware that Shiftry has some flying and one rock type move that could target Spinarak's weaknesses, however, he believes that with Shiftry's 4x weakness to bug, Spinarak will take out Shiftry before it can take out her.

Riz will start off the battle by having Spinarak use Infestation. This move is not necessarily the heaviest hitting bug move (though it does do 1/8th damage each turn, for four to five turns, and that is not taking into account weakness calculation) however, it does trap the opponent on the field making it impossible for them to escape.

With that set up, and Shiftry unable to escape, Riz will switch to having Spinarak use Pin Missile, which can hit up to five times, each of which has the potential to be a critical hit. He'll repeat this until Shiftry is down.

Should Shiftry manage to hit Spinarak hard and drop her health low, (even after consuming her berry), Riz will instead have Spinarak use Leech Life, which is also a bug type move, which allows Spinarak to restore for half of the damage the move does to Shiftry. Though it is not as flashy as Pin Missile, Riz has no problem having Spinarak use Leech Life each turn, having her recover bits of her HP, while the infestation wears Shiftry down.

VS Jumpluff

Against Jumpluff, Riz will bring out his Kecleon Puk. Now Kecleon may look like a normal type Pokemon but don't be fooled! Riz's Kecleon has the Hidden Ability Protean which allows it to change its type to match whatever move it is using. This means Kecleon always gets STAB bonus.

Important for this fight is that Jumpluff has a 4x weakness to Ice.

Also important is that Riz has taught Kecleon the move 'Ice Punch'.

At this point, the math should be mathing.

Riz will bring in Kecleon and immediately have him use Ice Punch which also has a 10% chance of freezing the target. Unlike in other matches, Riz is not going to bother switching his moves around to be unpredictable, as Jumpluff doesn't have anything that can do super effective damage to an ice type.

If Jumpluff puts Kecleon to sleep with its sleep pore, Riz will have Kecleon use Snore, so it can still do damage to Kecleon.

Should Jumpluff use Worry Seed to change Kecleon's ability to Insomnia (and therefore remove its ability to switch types), Riz will still continue with his Ice Punch strategy. Even if he is missing out on the STAB damage, the 4x weakness should still be enough to fell Jumpluff relatively quickly.

One final note is that Kecleon will be going into battle holding a Cheri Berry. This will cure one instance of being paralyzed, in case Jumpluff decides to use Stun Spore. He doesn't worry as much about poison powder, as he is aiming to finish this battle in only a few turns. And Sleep spore is not an issue as he can still have Kecleon attack while asleep.

VS Victreebel

Onwards to Victree

bel.

Victreebel.

Riz will be bringing out his Ninjask Tufsa to this fight.

As a dual Grass/Poison type, Victreebel has a weakness to flying moves. Ninjask is a dual Flying/Bug-type, which not only means it can target Victreebel's weaknesses, but it also enjoys a double resistance to grass-type attacks. And most of Victreebel's move roster consists of grass-type moves.

For this battle, Riz will be focusing solely on Ninjask's flying attacks, namely Aerial Ace, Dual Wingbeat and Gust. He will use them in that order too. He'll start off using Aerial Ace, should he run out of PP or the move becomes otherwise unavailable, he'll switch to Dual Wingbeat, and then if the same thing happens to that, to Gust.

HP-wise, he thinks he'll be fine as Victreebel can mostly use grass moves, which Ninjask has a high resistance too. Should Ninjask get hit hard and lose a lot of her HP though, he'll have her use Rest to recover her HP, and while she is asleep, she'll use Sleep Talk to randomly use one of her known moves.

Additionally, Riz will have his Ninjask hold a Pecha Berry going into the battle, to cure the poisoned condition should Victreebel inflict it. This will only work once though, but hey, it buys some time to have Ninjask's flying moves do their work.

VS Bellossom

Oh, will you look at the time.

Yes, it's time for another instalment of the most annoying battle strategy this side of the planet.

Riz is going to bring out his Shedinja Asfel.

Quick recap on Shedinja -- because of its ability Wonderguard, it can only be damaged by super effective moves. It completely blocks anything else. Because of this, it can only be damaged by Flying, Rock, Ghost, Fire and Dark moves.

Across the various generations, Bellossom has been able to naturally learn Grass, normal, bug, fairy, poison and one fire type move. But!! The fire type move is Sunny Day and therefore cannot damage Shedinja.

For this battle, Riz will start off with a Toxic, which will leave Bellossom poisoned, and losing HP every turn, and then he'll have Shedinja use Shadowclaw until its opponent goes down.

VS Roserade

Shedinja is going to stay right where it is, because much like Bellossom, Roserade also can only learn Poison, Grass and Normal, leaving it unable to damage Shedinja.

For this battle, Shedinja will start off with Confuse Ray to leave Roserade confused, before going back to using Shadowclaw.

Easy right?

Not quite.

Riz knows Roserade has Worry Seed, but he can't know for sure that Erika will use it. So he does have a back-up strategy for this battle.

If Roserade uses Worry Seed, Riz will withdraw Shedinja (which cures the ability change) and bring out Gozgoz the Trubbish.

As a pure Poison type, Trubbish has resistances to both Grass and Poison moves, and furthermore, cannot be poisoned.

As previously stated, Roserade learns mostly Poison and Grass moves (both of which Trubbish resists) and while Roserade also cannot be poisoned, its dual Grass type means it does take normal poison damage.

The strategy for this battle is fairly simple. Riz will have Trubbish use his hardest-hitting poison moves such as Gunk Shot and Sludge Bomb. Trubbish will also go into the battle holding a Cheri Berry. This will activate if Trubbish gets paralyzed and cures him, but more importantly, it will also allow him to use the powerful move Blech on his next turn.

And if everything goes completely pear-shaped, Trubbish knows Explosion and is not afraid to use it.

VS Vileplume

Against Vileplume, Riz will yet again use Shedinja.

Like before, Vileplume has been able to learn a lot of moves, but they've always been poison, grass, normal and fairy-type moves. So nothing that can damage Shedinja. And it cannot learn Worry seed, thereby eliminating Riz's one, uh, worry.

For this battle, Shedinja will start off with Confuse Ray to leave Roserade confused, before going back to using Shadowclaw until Vileplume is down.

Now, hopefully, all goes according to plan, but just in case, Riz is also bringing his Sableye Chit as back-up to the general fight. Chit was bred with what we can only describe as a shit-ton of moves and Riz has added a few of his own. This includes moves like Ice Punch and Fire Punch which most of Erika's Pokemon are weak to.

Unfortunately, Chit has his own weaknesses to fairy moves, so Riz will only use him as a last resort after all other Pokemon have been exhausted, but hey, when you are allowed to bring six Pokemon to a fight, it'd be silly to bring any less!

Now let Riz have that Mega Stone.

Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Papurgaat, Laaran, Senaar, Kal, Balutar
Battle Details: Since she's in Kanto for the time being, Bo-Katan decided to challenge Misty. She's continuing her trend of only using five Pokemon while he Dragonite watches from the sidelines.

Golduck
Bo-Katan starts with her Dolliv, Papurgaat, and immediately has her use Grassy Terrain. With the terrain changed to better suit her grass type, Bo-Katan will primarily rely on having her Pokemon use Razor Leaf and Mega Drain. Especially the latter as her HP gets lower to replenish it. Pretty straight forward. If Misty's Golduck manages to defeat Papurgaat, Bo will send in her Lapras to finish the job with Thunderbolt.

Lapras
If Bo's Dolliv manages to defeat Golduck, it's pretty clear that Misty's Lapras will defeat her so even if she's still standing Bo will switch her out for Laaran. Lapras vs Lapras! Laaran will be holding a Chesto Berry, so if Misty tries to put Laaran to sleep at any point with Sing, she will wake back up. Bo meanwhile will have her Lapras use Confuse Ray to confuse Misty's Lapras. She will then have Laaran use Thunderbolt, or in the event that Misty's Pokemon have Rain Dance and she uses it, she will use Thunder instead. Either way, Laaran will be continually striking Misty's Lapras with electric attacks in the epic Lapras showdown as its the most effective. If somehow Laaran gets defeated, Bo-Katan will send in Kal the Pawniard to hopefully finish up with Metal Claw.

Starmie
Whoever is still standing after the Lapras battle, Bo-Katan will be switching them out for the real star of this whole battle. Her very own starter, Senaar! Now a Decidueye, Bo-Katan will have her start with the ghost move Spirit Shackle. She will then have Senaar use Pluck, to eat any berry that Starmie might be holding if its holding one! This will be followed by Leaf Blade until the Starmie is defeated. However, if the Starmie uses Recover at any point, Senaar will counter this by using Synthesis. If Senaar, gets defeated, Bo-Katan will resort to her back up Pokemon. First with Kal using Night Slash. However if Kal is also defeated, she will go to her last Pokemon, Balutar the Cyclizar, and will use Bite repeatedly due to him having a Choice Scarf.

Battle Details: Now Harry has been meaning to do this much sooner than he is in right now, but with Baby Mon to look after and friends vanishing, he had to put it on hold for over a year. But he is not going to be hold back any longer so he is ready to do his first Gym Battle with all he has got.

Noctowl - From what Harry has looked into, he sees that Falkner’s Noctowl has a lot of Psychic moves, so why not bring out a Pokémon who can resist them? Enter Sirius the Houndoom. He will use Thunder Fang to give Noctowl some serious shock status (plus Flying types can’t handle Electric moves) before attacking with Feint Attack or Beat Up. He can use Ember and Inferno as other status inflicting moves. Sirius also has Iron Tail to hit Noctowl hard since all Flying types (except for Corviknight) just can’t handle Steel moves too. If ever he gets weakened, then Godric will show up to knock out it out with a mix of Rock Slide, Wild Charge, and Fire Fang.

Honchcrow - He will send out Roger the Pikachu next to take on Honchcrow. Roger is in a great position as he has a type advantage (Electric) against Honchcrow. Also he does not have the Psychic secondary type like Molly the Alolan Raichu so this Pikachu is going to be fine. Roger will attempt to give Honchrow a bit of shock first with Nuzzle followed up with Double Team to confuse it before attacking with Thunderbolt, Thunder Shock and Electro Ball to the beak. Thunder and Iron Tail are there for backup up. Nasty Plot will be used to raise his Special Attack twice so he can hit hard.

Pidgeot - It is time to bring out the living ditsy nightmare himself: Godric the Hisiuan Arcanine. He will be using Rock Slide, Rock Throw, Wild Charge, and Fire Fang as his main moves, to inflict many damages with, while Flamethrower, Crunch, and Raging Fury will be the backup moves. The Hisiuan Arcanine can also inflict burn effects onto Pidgeot with Flare Blitz if Harry wants to go for the risk route. If poor Godric is in need of help, he will then bring out Roger again to Nuzzle up Pidgeot before sending in Thunder Shock or Thunderbolt.

Extra: Should ever any or all of the above mentioned are in danger of fainting or to make the battle much easier on Harry, then Zinnia the Pyroar will be the first to come out and play. It would be a great shame if his lone feline Pokémon can’t play with these birds in here. She will unleash Fire Fang and Flamethrower as her first moves before she pulls out Ember for some serious burn effect. In addition she can use Leer to bring down any of Falkner’s Pokémon’s defense down and she could always attack with Endeavor to lower their HP to her level if needed.

Want a tanky Mon? Then Horace the Klawf is here to provide the tanking. Being a Rock type means that he can resist Flying moves to a degree, which would allow this rock crab to move and react fast. And he has some Steel moves on hand for type defense. His main strategy? Throw tons of rocks! Horace’s first move will be sending Rock Throws and Rock Blasts at any bird followed closely by a few Metal Claw strikes to knock them out. If he gets into a tough spot, he can raise his Defense with Harden and uses Protect to defend himself from any attacks.

Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Senaar, Papurgaat, Laraan, Paz, Balutaar
Battle Details:
Bo-Katan was left in Pewter City after the 4th Wall and so... are you ready to be wrecked Brock? Because this Mandalorian is coming for you! Again she is using 5 Pokemon while her Dragonite sits on the sidelines.

Rhyhorn
Bo-Katan will start with her Dolliv, Papurgaat. It will begin with her having the Dolliv use Grassy Terrain to possibly set up for the entirety of the battle if it doesn't last any longer than the amount of time it is effect. Bo will then have Papurgaat use Razor leaf and Seed Bomb. If Rhyhorn manages to get in some good hits she will also have Papurgaat use Mega Drain to restore her HP.

Golem
If Papurgaat is still standing it will be more of the same as it was with Rhyhorn. An onslaught of grass attacks and refreshing of Grassy Terrain if its worn off. If Papurgaat is defeated then she will be replaced by Senaar the Decidueye. More grass attacks will ensue with that switch such as razor leaf and leaf blade.

Onix
If Papurgaat or Senaar is still standing by the time Onix comes along, then Bo's grass strategy will continue until the Onix is defeated or both of her grass types are taken down. Should that happen its time to bring on the water works! Laraan the Lapras will be brought out using Water Pulse and Ice Beam. If Laraan gets defeated then Paz the Blastoise will be brought out using Water Pulse as well. And if by some miracle Brock actually manages to take down all of her grass and water pokemon she will throw in Balutar the Cyclizar using Aqua Tail repeatedly due to him having a choice scarf.

Character: Bo-Katan Kryze | [personal profile] mywayistheway
Badge/Gym Leader: Thunder Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Balutaar, Kles, Taakur, Kal, Senaar
Battle Details:
After the long trek from Pewter to Cerulean on the back of her Cyclizar, Bo then warped her way to Vermillion and is back on track! Again she is using 5 Pokemon while her Dragonite sits on the sidelines. Lt Surge will probably be Bo-Katan's favorite Gym Leader yet because he's her kind of guy being a tough war veteran and all.

Electabuzz
Bo-Katan will start out with her Cyclizar who will immediately use Shed Tail and retreat, only to be replaced with her shiny Nosepass. With Electabuzz having the potential for fighting attacks, Kles will be protected with the substitute. The first attack used will be Sandstorm and Bo-Katan will have Kles use her one ground attack after that, Earth Power. She will then have Kles use Stone Edge. If that misses there will be another Earth Power. Going back and forth between Earth Power and Stone Edge/Rock Slide until the Electabuzz is defeated or Kles is.

Magneton
If Kles is still standing after the Electabuzz, Bo will have Kles refresh Sandstorm whenever it runs out despite Magneton being immune to it. After all, she knows a Raichu is coming up after this and wants Sandstorm to last as long as possible. Kless will then use Earth Power until either she or the Magneton is defeated. If Kles goes down first, Bo will replace her with Taakur the Cubone. Bo-Katan will have her use Focus Energy and then Mud-Slap on the Magneton, followed by other ground moves such as Bone Rush and Bonemerang. In the event any of her attacks miss, Bo will then have her use Stomping Tantrum. All of this continuing until the Magneton is taken out.

Raichu
In the event Taakur is still standing after the Magneton she will evolve into Marowak and Bo-Katan will continue to use the same strategy as before. Using Mud Slap on the Raichu and following with Bone Rush and Bonemerang. Using Stomping Tantrum if any of her attacks miss. If the Raichu takes out Taakur, Bo-Katan will replace her with Kal the Pawniard and use attacks such as Slash and Night Slash. If he's taken out then Balutar will come back using Dragon Rush and Dragon Pulse. If he gets taken out, Bo will then use her last Pokemon, Senaar the Decidueye, and use ghost type attacks such as Spirit Shackle and Ominous Wind.

Badge/Gym Leader: Hive Badge/Bugsy
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Godric | Zinnia | Sirius | Horace | Remus | Cho
Battle Details: Harry has a good type advantage over the team with three Fire Types, a Flying Type, and two and a half Rock Types, but he is well aware that Bugsy isn’t going to give him an easy time.

Pinsir - Godric strikes up a terrifying mix of fire and rock enough to knock out Pinsir. He will first bring out Raging Fury before making the next move with Rock Slide, Fire Fang, and Ember as his main moves. Maybe even throw in Flamethrower and Rock Throw for good measure. Flame Wheel and Rock Tomb will be his last ditch moves when he is almost down but not yet out. Cue Bugsy wondering how the Hisuian counterpart of Kantonian Arcanine manages to sweep this one quickly.

Heracross - Despite being understandably nervous about being very weak to Heracross’ Fighting type, Zinnia is ready to face it head on. She will start by setting Ember at Heracross for a big status effect before striking with Fire Fang. Zinnia then unleashes Flamethrower at it, possibly making it a fainted beetle before the day is over. She can also make use of Endeavor to lower its HP greatly when her HP is pretty low as a last stand effort. If she gets weakened, either Godric or Remus can take over and fight Heracross with Ember, Flamethrower, and Fire Fang and Accelerock, Rock Tomb and Rock Throw respectively.

Scizor - For this last match up, Sirius is called in and he is SO excited to roast that poor metal praying mantis. Poor Scizor is out of luck with a twice type disadvantage against fire, so what does Sirius do? Set off Ember before he strikes with Fire Fang. He will also use Crunch, Bite, and Flamethrower in between too. He will even use Thunder Fang, Smog, and Incinerate as backup moves if needed. He also has an option to use Comeuppance to inflict more damage when he needs one. Also he can use Torment at it, forcing it to not use the same move twice.

Extra: Remus and Horace will bring the Rock moves at Pinsar if it gives Godric a hard time. Remus will strike it with a mix of Quick Attack and Rock Throw (followed by Accelerock) or Rock Tomb while Horace will fight back with sending lots of Rock Throws and Rocks Blasts with an occasional Harden to help boost his defense. Remus will also be called in if Zinnia is to get knocked out by Heracross along with Godric.

And because she REALLY wants to do this, Cho will insist that she wants to fight a giant beetle so he will have her as a backup for the Heracross portion. Cho will use her Flying type moves to her advantage as she will fight Heracross with Brave Bird to start her run even if she has to deal with recoil damage for the rest of the battle. She will then switch to using Wing Attack and Aerial Ace as her main moves. In addition, she can lower enemy Attack stats with Feather Dance.

Character: Bo-Katan Kryze | [personal profile] mywayistheway
Badge/Gym Leader: Plain Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Kal, Kles, Kotep, Eparavur, Balutar
Battle Details: Once again Bo-Katan is using 5 Pokemon while her Dragonite watches from the sidelines.
Girafarig
Bo-Katan starts with her Pawniard, Kal. What will commence is an assault of dark type moves such as Night Slash and Assurance. With the plan being that she will exploit the Girafarig's psychic half with the dark moves while Kal will be able to withstand normal moves due to his steel typing and be immune to the psychic moves the other Pokemon has. If the Girafarig manages to defeat Kal she will switch in her Cyclizar, Balutar, to finish it off with Bite.

Clefable
If Kal defeats the Girafarig, Bo-Katan will keep him in play and use Metal Claw against it repeatedly until one or the other can't go on anymore. The intent being that his steel move will be super effective against the fairy type.

If Kal was defeated by the Girafarig, Balutar would be switched out using shed tail since he's a dragon. If that happens, or the Clefable defeats Kal, Bo-Katan will bring in her Snorlax, Eparavur. Knowing full well that the Clefable has Metronome and how effective it can be, which may possible lead to a Metronome contest between the two Pokemon. However, Bo-Katan will first have her Snorlax use Yawn to eventually put the Clefable to sleep. Bo-Katan will also have her use Heavy Slam against the much lighter Clefable. Though should Eparavur's HP get too low, she will have her use Rest which will also resort in Snore and Sleep Talk being used.

Miltank
If Eparavur is still active and in good health after being used against the Clefable, Bo-Katan will keep her in to go head to head with Whitney's Miltank. She will use much the same strategy though not using metronome so much as Heavy Slam against the lighter Pokemon and then using Rest, Snore, and Sleep Talk. Hopefully being able to withstand the Milktank's attacks (roll out) long enough to take it down. Though if she doesn't, Bo-Katan will switch in her Heracross, Kotep. If a switch out occurs, Bo-Katan will have him immediately use Counter against the Miltank's attacks.

However, if it ends up that Eparavur or whatever pokemon she used to defeat the Clefable is near fainting when the Miltank arrives, Bo will switch out for her Heracross right off. If that is the case then she will use Focus Punch to start off and then resort to Counter. Hopefully her strategy with her Heracross will be enough to take down the Miltank. If its not, then Bo will throw the Pokemon she has left at it. Starting with Kles the shiny Nosepass who will use Thunderwave to paralyze the Miltank and follow with Rock Slide. If Kles is defeated, then she will throw in her Cyclizar, Balutar, who will have a level advantage. Bo-Katan will have him use Dragon Rush and Dragon Pulse.

Badge/Gym Leader: Fog Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular Team
Team: Bes'uliik, Kal, Balutar, Taakur, Kles
Battle Details: Are you ready for her Morty? ARE YOU READY? This Mandalorian comes into his gym, armor crusted with snow and ice because PFFT WHAT IS COLD. It's not going to keep her away! Bo's rampage of terror gym challenge spree has led her here! Again she's going to use 5 Pokemon, though she plans to end this with only two or three, with her Dragonite again watching on the sidelines. Ori at this point is kinda impressed.

Haunter
Bo-Katan's choice for starter might seem unusual as its a psychic type. But not just any psychic type! It's her Metang that she's been lovingly raising since she caught it at the Ruins of Alph. Bes'uliik is also carrying an Iron Ball? Why? Well that will be made clear shortly. It slows it down and he has to endure at least one attack as a result before he can move, but what a move! Bo-Katan has it use Trick, which forces the Haunter to hold the Iron Ball instead! Have fun with that buddy. So much for your Levitate ability! Bo-Katan will then proceed to have it use Earthquake as many times as it takes to stomp that Haunter. If that Haunter somehow survives that onslaught then Bo-Katan will use Kal to finish it off.

Misdreavus
If Bes'uliik is still kicking by the time the Haunter is defeated then Bo will have it use Flash Cannon on the upcoming Misdreavus! Though honestly it probably wouldn't be lasting very long as this point. So as soon as the Metang can't go any farther, Bo-Katan sends in Kal her Pawniard instead. He will be holding a persim berry to ward off confusion should confuse ray or something be used on him! Bo-Katan will then have him use Night Slash repeatedly on the Misdreavus for Super-effectivness and STAB. If he manages to take out the Misdreavus, Kal will level up and evolve into Bisharp! Though if he does get defeated Bo-Katan will send in Balutar the Cyclizar holding a choice scarf to finish the Misdreavous off with repeated Bites.

Gengar
However! If Kal does make it this far, now as a Bisharp, he will keep going. Bo-Katan having him use Scary Face on the giant ghost before coming at him with repeated Night Slashes. Will it be enough to take the Gengar down with his resistances and super effective attacks?? Well if its not, then Bo-Katan will follow with Taakur the Marowak. Or if Kal doesn't make it to the Gengar and Balutar does, Bo-Katan will switch out Balutar for Taakur. Does the Gengar have Levitate or Cursed Body? Bo-Katan will find out! She will have the Marowak use ground moves such as Earthquake, Bonemerang, and Stomping Tantrum on it. If it does have Cursed Body then Bo-Katan will cycle through the ground attacks if they are disabled by that ability. But if it has Levitate, and that becomes clear after the first ground attack doesn't hit, then Bo will have her use Fling! Taakur will be holding a nugget and chuck it right at that Gengar! A costly sacrifice!!! But worth it! Will it be enough though? If not, Taakur's got nothing and will have to be switched out. Balutar will then come in and repeatedly use Bite while holding his Choice Scarf. If that isn't enough then Kles the shiny Nosepass will be her final Pokemon and will use attacks such as Lock-On then Zap Cannon, and Rock Slide and Earth Power (if ground attacks work).

Character: Harry Potter | [personal profile] phoenixwiz
Badge/Gym Leader: Plain Badge | Whitney
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Ron | Olive | Lily | Neville | James | Sirius
Battle Details: So you really want to give Whitney nightmares for the rest of her life, huh, Harry? Well he is going to hope for the best as he has some Pokémon who can fight her team with one ace up against that dreaded Miltank. Technically he could have just used 3 of them and make this an epic sweep since her team have other types he can go after but he decides that it is probably safe to have some backup just in case.

Girafarig - Ron and Neville are there to tackle Girafarig with the two of them being at a type advantage. In Ron’s part, he can start by setting off Bite on Girafarig and hit hard with Dark Pulse and Assurance as his main attacks. If he does get hit, there is Moonlight to heal him up. Neville meanwhile can strike at it with Bite as his starting move before he follows that up with Sucker Punch, Assurance, and Crunch. Also the two of them can use Snarl to lower down the giraffe’s Special Attack. And Neville is equipped with the elemental Fangs (Fire, Ice, Thunder) as back up moves.

Clefable - Having a Fairy Pokémon in a team of Normal types is going to be at Whitney’s disadvantage as Harry has two Pokémon who could knock her Clefable out greatly. James has Steel typing by his side so he can defend himself against Clefable while Olive has Poison typing to boot. James will begin by using Metal Claw to strike her hard before swapping out for Meteor Mash and Iron Tail for the main moves he will use for the fight. Plus he has Poison Jab to give Clefable a hard time and he can Drain Punch 50% of his HP back when the need arises. Olive can toss in Toxic Spikes to make the environment tough for Clefable to move around and attack with Toxic for a Poisoned status effect. She then will try to fight her off by Poison Tail and Sludge Wave.

Miltank - Now for the fight of the century. Harry is bringing Lily: over leveled and frighteningly at the type advantage against Miltank’s Normal type. She will first begin with hitting with Aura Sphere, then she will switch for Triple Arrows and Low Kick for her main moves, though she may hit with Aura Sphere once in a while. HP knocked out? Nah, she will Synthesis or Roost it back in no time. Lily will boost her Attack and Defense with Bulk Up for added bonus. She can also lower Miltank’s Attack with Feather Dance. Being a bird with wings may help in avoiding that cow’s endless spams of Rollouts and being a lady will spare her from Charm’s effects. If he wants to, Harry could have let James continue on with Miltank thanks to his Fighting type (hitting hard with Aura Sphere, Low Kick, and Brick Break) if he wants to but Charm effects, folks, freaking Charm effects.

Extra: Sirius is there as backup mainly because he really wants to battle that funny giraffe so badly but he can be used against Clefable with Iron Tail (though this is risky considering that he is part Dark Type). He will fight with Crunch, Bite, and Beat Up. He may use Comeuppance and Foul Play when needed.

Character: Keldor | [personal profile] behindblueskin
Badge/Gym Leader: Morty | Fog Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Kukishoku | Sunitchi | Sunatchi
Battle Details: Soaring in to Ecruteak City is a man who is still avoiding his battle with Whitney. It's really kind of silly, because it's not the sort of thing that you can put off forever—not if you want to complete the Indigo League anyways. But I guess for now we'll be challenging Morty for his Fog Badge.

Let's get started.

Keldor it seems is someone who likes to have a reasonably even spread regarding pokemon types, rather than specialising, but with Morty's specialty being Ghost, Keldor's a little short in the advantage department when it comes to battling Ghost pokemon. He's got plenty of Ghost types himself, but the problem with using them is that Ghost is weak to its own type, and Keldor has no intentions of allowing his opponent to capitalise on that.

The good news is that two of Morty's pokemon have a Psychic weakness to exploit, but doing so means risking Psychic's Ghost weakness, so to counter that, he needs the level advantage. Thankfully most of his pokemon are in the Level 100 Club, so it won't hurt as much sending in one of them.

HAUNTER

To start things off, we need someone who can bring the pain whilst taking the pain, and that means Keldor's choice is his Bronzong, Kukishoku. Being a Psychic type means the big bell will be vulnerable to Ghost moves, but as it's also a Steel type, whatever advantage Morty's Haunter might've had has been neutralised somewhat. Not a bad choice. But Morty didn't get to where he is by being a lousy battler, and he knows that the only way he might be able to deal with this is to cause as many status effects as possible. To deal with that, Keldor will need to hit hard as soon as possible, once he's protected his pokemon with Safeguard, and because Bronzong is slower than Haunter and knows Payback, that means it's gonna hurt Haunter a lot more by going second rather than first, and that's not taking into account that it's a Dark move—something Haunter will be vulnerable to. Once that's done, it's time to use Extrasensory. Sure, we could've gone with Confusion, but Extrasensory has a 10% chance of causing a Flinch, and Keldor's banking on it, which means that it'll be the go-to move to take out Haunter, rather than using the weaker Confusion or the turn-waiting Future Sight.

MISDREAVUS

To deal with Misdreavus, Keldor's brought along his Thievul, Sunitchi. It might've been the fact that Misdreavus is pure Ghost that made Keldor select a pure Dark type, but really, it's more that Thievul's moves are mostly Dark type, and what isn't a Dark type is Normal [Ghost's main resistance], so to boost Sunitchi's some Hone Claws to beef up her Attack and gain Accuracy, before delivering a nasty Beat Up, a Sucker Punch, and then finally, a Night Slash.

Good night. Sleep tight.

GENGAR

Last but not least is Morty's strongest regular team pokemon, Gengar. Unlike Haunter and Misdreavus, it no longer has access to Levitate and thus immunity to Ground moves, which is something its Poison typing won't like, especially given that Keldor's choice of his last battler is the Ground/Dark type Krookodile, and that means when Sunatchi plays beach bully by kicking up a Sand Attack in its face, Gengar will be affected by it. But wait! There's more! The beach bully is also using Sand Tomb to add additional damage alongside the Bites and the Earthquake Sunatchi'll be using to take the big bad Ghost out.

We're done here.

Character: Harry Potter | [personal profile] phoenixwiz
Badge/Gym Leader: Fog Badge | Morty
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Sirius | Neville | Minerva | Olive | Ron | Rowan
Battle Details: Harry realizes as soon as he arrives at Morty’s gym that he might have over leveled his team for real along with the fact that Ghost type is weak against itself so it is all about needing to play smarter than ever. Sorry Morty but you are about to face a guy who has seen ghosts a lot in his world, including dead friends and family.

Haunter - Sirius is the first to go and he is ready to roast the competition (hopefully of the not literal kind). Over the level threshold and at the type advantage, this Houndoom is very keen to start this battle in the right paw. He will begin by unleashing Crunch on Haunter first. He will then switch between it, Bite and Feint Attack. Hey may also use Fire Fang and Thunder Fang as he wishes. Additionally he can unleash Torment to force Haunter not to attack with the same move twice and hit them hard with Foul Play. As a backup, Harry will set out Neville: the Mightyena, despite being a nervous wreck, is up for the challenge too. He will Sucker Punch his way with Crunch and Assurance as the main moves. He also has Snarl which it will make Haunter’s Special Attack stat to decrease. He also has Fire, Thunder, and Ice Fangs and Bite as back up moves.

Misdreavous - Uh oh, is there a major rivalry brewing between TWO Misdreavous today?!? Minerva the Misdreavous certainly thinks so as she wants to prove that she is the better Misdreavous much to Harry’s own horror. She will start her ‘I’m better than you’ campaign by unleashing a slew of Shadow Balls and bringing out Confuse Ray to scramble Morty’s Misdreavous. She has Hex within reach to inflict major damage (which can be doubled if the Misdreavous has a major infliction when it happens). Plus she has Payback to send her ‘twin’ packing and has Psybeam and Astonish for backup moves. But if things do go south, Ron the Umbreon will be at the ready to take it on. He will begin with Bite and Crunch and he will switch between them, Dark Pulse and Assurance for his main moves. Plus he has Snarl to lower Misdreavous’ Special Attack stat.

Gengar - Rowan will be taking the lead for this portion as he is very keen to unleash ghost Robin Hood bird prowess in the gym battle. He will begin this round with Shadow Sneak, attacking from behind and unleashing Spirit Shackle midway. He may opt to switch moves for most of the battle. And then much to everyone’s shock, Harry will switch Rowan out for Olive since he discovers that Gengar has a weakness to Ground types. Olive will unleash Mud Shot and Mud-Slap at it and even attack with Earthquake to disorient it further. He will then bring out Rowan again so he can use Astonish to smack some damage onto Gengar (which has a good chance of it flinching) so he can bring out Phantom Force to finish it off. Neville will be summoned in if Rowan was to get knocked out. He will primarily fight with Sucker Punch, Crunch and Assurance as the main moves. Neville has Snarl which it will weaken Gengar’s Special Attack. Plus he has Fire, Thunder, and Ice Fangs, Mud-Slap and Bite as back up moves.

Character: Bo-Katan Kryze | [personal profile] mywayistheway
Badge/Gym Leader: Marsh Badge
Elite/Regular: Regular Team
Team: Kal, Taakur, Balutar, Paz, Nau'ul
Battle Details: Bo-Katan will be hobbling into Sabrina's gym today with a limp, a wrapped hand, but not wearing her armor. She just has her flight suit on and her helmet because she's still sensitive to light and headachey because of her concussion and wearing the helmet helps. She's clearly not well but she's stubborn! She actually has to lean on her Dragonite to walk and stand. The Dragonite will stay with her and watch and thus she only has 5 Pokemon that will participate in the battle. She's challenging Sabrina sooner than she expect, but she was the closest gym to where Bo is staying, so here she is. She will insist she's fine if asked.

Espeon
Bo-Katan starts with her Pawniard, Kal. She will continue to use him as long as she possibly through the entire battle. He's got some very nice type advantages after all. Unless Sabrine has some TMs on her Pokemon that will throw him for a loop, he will probably be able to withstand whatever they throw at him. Or at least that's the thought. Bo-Katan will have him use Iron Defense and then primarily use Night Slash on Sabrina's psychic pokemon. He will also be holding a Persim berry to ward off confusion. If for some reason he is defeated, Bo-Katan will replace him with her Lampent, Nau'ul. She will have her use Confuse Ray to confuse her opponent and then follow up with Shadow Ball.

Mr. Mime
If Kal defeated the Espeon then he will keep going with the Mr. Mime with the same strategy. If the Mime defeats Kal then at this point he will be replaced by Nau'ul and use the same strategy also.

Alakazam
Again if Kal makes it this far, Bo-Katan will keep using him with the same strategy. However, if he's defeated, Bo-Katan won't replace him with Lampent. Or if the Lampent defeats the Mime she will wait for her to get defeated before sending out her next Pokemon. What will come is Balutar her Cyclizar who will use Shed Tail. With the substitute in place and the Cyclizar retreating, Bo-Katan will then send out her Marowak, Taakur. She's been saving the Marowake for the Alakazam for a reason, which soon becomes clear when Bo orders her to use Fling. Taakur is holding an Iron Ball and chucks the thing at the Alakazam's face! Poor Alakazam. That's gotta hurt. Should he survive that attack, Bo will have her use moves such as Earthquake to hopefully finish it off.

Any hiccups in Bo-Katan's plan will hopefully be covered by her extra Pokemon such as her Blastoise, Paz. She would have him use Rain Dance, Hydro Pump, and Bite. Also, Balutar can come in at any point to use Bite to hopefully finish off any opponents.

After the battle, win or lose, Bo-Katan will also ask if she can help her communicate with her Dragonite. Can she read his mind or something??? To figure out his angst. Finding out her Dragonite's backstory would be most helpful.
